I know this is going to sound crazy but listen to me if you learn to slow your hands down at the right Point you’ll actually learn to swing the golf club head quicker and hit the GOL ball further yes slow down your swing to hit the GOL ball way further now I believe in this tip that much but just outside of my 7 Iron Range 175 yards and like look I can’t miss short can I right there is water absolutely everywhere absolutely everywhere isn’t there I’m try to question why I’ve chosen this hole but anyway what do I mean by that so have a look at this here if we draw a circle around me right now we want to have fast hands to start the swing Slow Hands as we work to the top and transition and then we go fast and then slow again now let me explain that one more time again think of this as a little bit of an order we need fast hand to start slow in transition fast as we start down and then slow around here in order to sort of transfer all of that energy out towards the golf club like look at this right if I keep the speed between my hands and my club head the same look at this there’s no real whip of that club now I’ll be honest I hate that term whip of the club but can you see they’re both traveling at the same speed and I guess a real I guess crude analogy of this would be if you had a wet towel and I just kept them moving at the same speed like look at this they don’t really create any difference if I’m fast and stop my hand can you see how I get I don’t like to call whip but I know a lot of people do but you start to transfer the energy out out towards the end and in golfing terms that’s out towards the end of the club head now I should have said this doesn’t just work with your irons in a scenario like this but it 100% works with your driver too and that part of me pulling back on the tow wall is essentially me slowing down these hands to transfer that energy out now let me hit a couple away here think about what most of us look like I showed you this towards the start of the video where we have this chicken wing and the club head and the hands travel at the same rate I’m going to hit this and you know there is water short but I know if I hit this away keeping the club head and the hands relatively at the same speed as best I can that’s the sort of shot we hit which had no power no Force absolutely nothing behind it and has finished just short of the water which by the way I am extremely thankful for but what I want to make you aware of is this motion this motion right here now let me put the golf club in my left hand and watch this look how much faster the club head is traveling around my body different to this right way way different now the easiest way to think about this and this is very much what happens on the follow through is that our our left arm it bends and it rolls so all I say to students is think about that frisbee out the back of the hand and be relax with it that’s what we need a little bit more of a bit of that feeling not this now I get it for a part of this you are going to feel like you’re a little bit out of control but that’s more cuz it’s new and you could definitely do this before every single shut out on the golf course left hand on now notice as I’m doing it my body is not staying static my arms and my body are moving as a unit and working this way now let me take you back to the start of this video we want to feel fast slow fast slow and that’s this motion to our golf swing you can really hear and feel the power in that shot but it won’t look like I’m putting much effort in so get that idea of that feeling that so your hands start fast they’re slow then they faster start down and they’re slowing up through the ball in order to transfer the energy out to this and I’ll be perfectly honest all I think about in the golf swing is a fast start and a slow finish just like this and to get that fast start I’m not saying rush it I’m just saying right just stand here keep things moving that finish okay here we go watch where this finish is right here I know I’m going to be confident with this be the club please be the club come back baby come back like look I’m not kidding Let’s Go and show you on the green where that pitched cuz the spin on that was crazy but look where that’s finished because I guess where I see a lot of golfers go wrong is we start the swing really really slow and then we just try and be fast in the rest of it but then we’re not transferring that energy out towards the end of this golf club and at the end of the day you want to look like we’re putting Less in and getting more out so as long as you get the speed in the right order you will start to generate power in the right way I am loving where this gold ball has finished by the way look at this shot and just just look at this spin that’s where it pitched that’s where it finished and look at we hit from up here now you can take this confidence and hit shots just like that and create spin just like that when you have the speed in the right area in your golf swing and we all know hitting shorter clubs longer is definitely the way to lower our scores thanks so much for watching and don’t forget to Feel like you slow down at the right point! And you’ll speed up!
I don't know. So many instructors contradict each other. This angle this position. I swing my arms with my body, make sure I get width. When I start my backswing I think about my shoulder getting that club extended. Downswing I think about my back shoulder coming through. Feeling the weight of the club throughout and letting it do the work. It's effortless, takes care about 20 things that you don't need to think about, the clubhead squares itself and I compress and hit the ball straight and far. All without trying to manipulate the club. It's that simple.
