This golf drill can help improve your sequence, make better contact, and hit the golf ball further!
The versatility of the step drill is part of what makes it such a good golf drill. We include it in our SuperSpeed training, but this is a drill that you can also do while hitting golf balls on the driving range. In this video Padraig Harrington is using the step drill as part of his warm-up before a competitive round.
The step drill is focused on improving your sequence and your ability to generate force from the ground in your golf swing. a common fault for so many golfers is that they start their downswing out of sequence. The lower body has to start the downswing, it is something that all good ball strikers do. Starting with your feet close together and using the step to initiate your transition is a great way to feel the correct sequence.
The step drill has been part of our SuperSpeed training protocols for many years In our soon-to-be-released SuperSpeed Golf app we are launching many new protocols and our new Ground Force protocol will include the step drill with super speed swings but also while hitting golf shots.
