today I’m playing one of the most beautiful hidden gyms in the Kansas City Missouri area it’s called the national every time I come back home here to Kansas City this is the one course that I try and play from the beautiful undulations to the trees to the perfect greens Fairways tea boxes and everything else this cough course is a 10 out of 10 in my book and with that being said it’s staying near perfect [Music] we’re back I’m back back with another GM Golf video we’re actually staying here in this airbn be we’ve been here for like the last 3 days and this is the day that I’ve been looking forward to the most out of all the golf days that we’ve had because today we’re actually playing the course that we’re staying on I want to come hey come over here with me guys come come come we checked in like three nights ago or 3 days ago practice facility here practice green this is the national you guys have probably seen this place before on one of our YouTube channels whether that be GM Golf or good good and then the first tea is literally right over here to the left there’s people teeing off right now today is going to be an 18-hole match against I’m excited for you guys to see him he’s been on the channel before but I mean this guy grew up playing with Rory macroy Tommy Fleetwood guys like that in Scotland and he’s got countless stories of his experience in junior golf college and then now you know where he’s at today in his life so I’m excited 18 holes of golf out here at the national let’s go over to the practice let’s get over the first [Music] day we’re back uh Chris is back on the channel you guys have seen him before good to see you again yeah Chris Bell uh introduce yourself to the channel if they haven’t seen them already what is it that you do Chris Bell I am the director of membership here so I sell memberships for both the national and the bluff it’s going to be a tough match it’s 18 holes flip te to see who goes first mhm see who it is and that’s Chris me play well not not too well it’s going to be tough too cuz Chris he he was saying it but he’s been playing uh some pretty good golf recently so none of that was on camera though once the camera’s turn on it’s a different game it’s a different game maybe not jeez so if you’re hitting driver where do you have to hit it if you’re hitting driver see there like the two c the cart path that goes that way and then a little gap on it yeah right in the middle right there all right I’m going to hitwood then and a bunch of stuff left as well so you need to hit it straight oh I topped it one up to the National okay woo that was tough I need to get that out of the system I don’t think that is going to be found for a long time that’s just a that’s a creek H straight and I think on the bank right is that into the creek or was that tall grass I think it was just over the creek I would actually car and that thick stuff so you’re from Scotland we were talking about this uh the other night but you grew up playing with some great golfers yeah uh we played junior golf with uh Rory mroy Shane Lowry Danny Willet um Tommy Fleetwood later on today I need to I need you to tell that story of Tommy cuz that was that was pretty cool oh yeah I want the people to hear that there’s an advantage with match play when you hit a bad t- shot like that it frees you up cuz I can only lose one stroke on this hole no matter what now if I find this ball don’t count me out of it Michael don’t count me out of it it was like this isn’t that thick well this might be a concede on the first hole that’s so bad the way that’s not the way you want to start let’s see what Chris does I mean that is an unfortunate way to start the match that’s never what you want to see but I don’t know thankfully it’s match play and I’m fine get down very well done thank you you better at match play or stroke play would you say you know I actually thought with that when we said that I’ve not played match play since College I haven’t been playing it recently but it is nice just for like moments like this cuz I mean I’m completely out of the hole might as well just yeah just forget and W for the next one yeah wave the White Flag 17 hes to go yeah exactly I only I only lost one stroke it is what it is and one ball yeah one stroke and one ball one ball down hey I wasn’t making par you guys know this about me typically typically in the past if I lose the first hole it’s kind of good news for the rest of the round for me so hopefully that’s the case today we will see we will [Music] see goodness gracious stop it Temple Temple Garett Temple every single time stop it should be good [Music] I need to hear the story on camera oh the Fleetwood story yeah oh yeah yeah so we we played kind of international match for when you played for high school so we done Scotland versus England actually Danny Willet was on that team too um so played the match we ended up winning the match and then that was 2005 I think it was and then I was in my college dorm in Odessa Texas and my buddy called me from Scotland on Skype back then he was like hey did you see did you see who just won that open in Dubai and I was like what are you talking about he’s like Tommy Fleetwood and I’m like who’s Tommy Fleetwood and he was like go look at your um your scorecards from the Scotland V England and in that tournament he shot 9694 and and I was like this guy just won millions of dollars I’m sitting here eating ramen noodles in college how many years prior to that that he shot 9694 so that was 2005 to 2012 11 or 12 yeah so listen guys everyone out out there don’t give up so practicing you shoot at 94 96 in seven years you could be on tour winning tournaments that’s all I’m saying prac practice that’s crazy what do you think you have from there can you tell me 245 240 yeah so 265 is about right that front edge is probably 245 from here though no yeah it’s probably probably pretty wet at the front draw oh I purered it man just purered it right bunker ped it but ped it right well same shot as Garett probably bunker it’s a bunker contest might be just short of the bunker I think oh you’re short of it I think so all right I don’t mind this bunker shot Michael I don’t this is not a bad spot my gosh the hands that’s good got to make birdie now should have expected that out of him he’s played here before he knows the course so this kind of there’s not much sand here but good shot good shot thanks kind of weird the wet sand had it played a little different but little chunk and Runner I had to do that cuz he gave me it all right Michael for the birdie it fell in the left sight I thought I overread that so I was like okay we’re just going to tap it up there and I actually under rad it so we made a birdie on to the [Music] next all right Chris you got honors you ever go for this green has to be downwind yeah downwind you can get pretty close but again even if you’re if you’re like just short of the it’s a of a pitch cuz that two tier green depends on where that pins at how far is it typically to that bunker uh right now it’s like 260 I think it is from here perfect I mean most of the time I try to head it between 220 and 250 uphill with wet grass it should be about that with this club take a look at this man’s swing this is what you want your swing to look like maybe not you just don’t want it to go that direction but I’m just kidding you had to say that right before hey playing mind games already boys yep I got Chris back for the first te he like just don’t just hit it and play or whatever you said hyri in hand let’s see if we could maybe hit one in the Fairway that’d be great almost topped it again but it works where is this it’s pretty good blad top golf swing coming from not really sure 105 this is right up the hill I mean oh by the way Chris and I are playing it with clean place in the faway today you have to carry this past the pen cuz this Ridge is just your downfall I have a 56 I don’t know feel good about it go yeah did it spin down yeah no way oh it got to the top of the Bridge almost stopped and then just that’s what I was worried about yeah this isn’t good but try and make a [Music] par NOP looks like it’s back to even not that far left it’d be nice to roll a long one [Music] in he leaves it short too uh all I need to do is make par man that’s all I need stay out oh good four thanks all right solid par that is a brutal pin though all square through three Chris opened the door we slipped through and we’re on to the fourth hole come on you said you also grew up playing against uh Rory maoy you have any stories about that yeah myself and Scott Henry the last time I heard Scott Henry he was playing some European tour stuff few years ago but we played against him in the European championships 2005 in Italy Montello golf club that place was beautiful we played them match play Rory and Shane versus me and Scott and beat them two in one which is pretty cool we finished eth in that tournament but that was a it wasn’t that big a deal at the time but now because of who they are it’s oh yeah it’s pretty cool do you enjoy golf here or better in Scotland cuz it’s so different it’s funny like people ask me all the time asking about what’s your favor ly go and stuff but all my recollection of playing linkx golf is frozen solid and rain going sideways and what umbrell inside out and Yeah like it was terrible I don’t know if I’ve ever played this T box back here but one of the hardest holes out here I don’t know if this is enough low key I’m just going to hit got to going left long too much I was tempted to hit five this is probably one of the scarier holes out here in my opinion I know what you’re doing okay that time I didn’t mean to do that I swear that time I didn’t mean it and he catches it fat and it needs to go really a lot I feel bad I that Ah that’s tough well no choice but to hold this one go oh it ripped too all right here we go well this is for a birdie it’s got to go left it absolutely has to oh it was the right read one up just like [Music] that onto a par five which has to be in my opinion one of my favorite holes at this golf course I’ve never played it well but it’s my favorite hole in the of course so maybe today is the day that we have a good hole here kind of calls for a fade I don’t really know if I have a fade in my bag I don’t know what I have in my bag it’s even better than the fade right there yeah good ball just have to be on the right side here it’s pretty wet it should stop yeah see this is this is a very well-designed golf hole for a lot of reasons but where I’m at on this hole is still tough shot kind of have to hit a hook quit it quit it straight down that’s fine we’ll find it should be okay there what if I told you you’re in the middle of the Fairway really no it kicked off a rock and is in the middle oh my [Music] God needed a break after losing golf balls in the last two holes yeah the golf Gods blessed to here we got 235 par five this might be one of the first times I’ve ever hit this fare and I’m not joking about that so I want to take advantage of it put one on the green just give myself a look at Eagle let’s see if we can get this one on the green cuz I’m one you have four iron three oh okay I was about to say you’re psycho oh you had it left you got that up that’s so hard too that was insane okay might be okay I got the absolute way too much Club but I’m trying to hit a high High golf shot here take some off this sit sit probably bunker a little long but I ped it it was cool this is crazy who woke up on the wrong side of the bed look at this hope I can find my ball look at this pin yeah hey those guys in that red CAU right there you guys do this you set this pin 3 feet this way and you’re down 30 ft away it is directly on the top of a ridge I respect it never had to flop over a fan before but guess we’ll try it wow you’re going to have a fun putt there Chris yeah just glad I stayed on the top layer this is a tough golf shot sit hit the pen please please please oh watch gone bye ball bye stop stop stop stop it’s gone that right there is all where I missed the ball on the down soap of the bunker and pin location there realistically was not a good place to miss it on this hole with that PIN it went from huge birdie opportunity from the Fairway hitting a solid second shot too now I’m just trying to scrape away with a par yeah pretty good yeah no it was going to go good good but I was going to say that too I don’t know if I can quite do that put no you were putting that one now I got a little slippery one for the par good put all righty well that’s why I love this hole it’s a short par five but I’ll tell you it’s no joke of a hole I would say the scoring average on this hole is well above par out here I got a six iron it’s down off the left 212 yeah 6 iron should be the club chunky go I think get to the Green Toe yeah he’s coming back byebye ball it’s going to be a full wedge there where’s my cut yeah I was about to say you’ve been cutting it all day sit it’s not bad not a bad spot to be I don’t know how far I have we’re just going to feel it just feel it up there one hopper stopper jumper is the goal have fun chipping again about 20 yards long of the green not the right Club but we’re going to try it I told you wrong Club good work though not bad maybe today’s the day a little popper onto the green little chunk and a runner oh good shot thanks not bad not bad that’s good generous yeah you can put it if you want to no that’s fine I’ll gladly take it snapped off you know what give you that give you thank you for that on of the seventh hole I’m still one up kind of a lousy match so far there’s only been two birdies tons of golf to play it’s any man’s game tough weird kind of weird hole here probably one of the hard hard ones out here would you say Chris yeah t- shot anyway yeah you thread the needle with a t- shot and it’s pretty simple but other than that it’s not it’s all about the t-shot I got driver here that should be pretty good sit sit yep yeah cut back put it it’s too long it’s fine yeah all right that’s the Miss 143 I got the wrong Club yeah me too okay I didn’t think I had enough Club but might have been a little too much try to hit this low under the trees don’t kick right pretty close to the green stay up down the hill right to left this is to take it to two up get it halfway there I mean come on dude o good put moves a good bit yeah that one snapped on me nice good par well one up two to play on this front nine golf’s pretty solid it’s just mediocre right now nothing crazy nothing good nothing [Music] bad this is a very cool golf hole here downwind it plays slightly shorter than it is cuz once you get over the hill it should roll today probably not so much but in my opinion this is one of the better challenges on the Golf Course perfect thanks pretty straight we’ll take that well want to do just like that that’s the plan good ball um good te shot that one was pretty good yeah I mean right now we’re we’re through seven holes on the eighth hole but I have a feeling matter what this this match will probably come down to that last one birdie here there one birdie here there can change everything so number Nine’s a scary t-shirt too 93 yards down the hill I got a 60 going dead no cannot believe that jump forward yeah needed that to carry you one more foot go go are you trying to kind of bounce that one a little bit yeah yeah kind of a smart play to be honest putting from off the green again that’s weirdly down that hill with like a chunky potential chunk lie that’s a tough shot there no way oh my gr that is a lot thicker than you think yeah I didn’t expect that easier either no thought it was going to run straight through that little right to left here for me feel like this might be an underere was it so was SC it we left too lots of golf to play 10 holes left two up uh it’s kind of a pillow fight though I said it earlier but there’s only been two birdies out of both of us both of [Music] us favorite hole in the course I always hit driver here I don’t know if it’s driver hole but why not B thanks that one was nice I H that one good great ball Chris damn there it is that’s carrying mine I may now making three puttting Bogies all right 90 yards downwind got a 60° honestly very solid t- shot with the circumstances this is a tough golf hole especially off the te I’m also like in a way I guess I didn’t finish the first hole like in in a way I’m kind of keeping track of a of a score say a bogey hole one drop and somehow make bogey I mean even double Bogey’s like puts me one over double two over so not having like the worst round and there’s definitely opportunity on the back n and turn it around right let’s get one back here before we start the back n get down get down sure no bad take that one Skipper that’s the goal just short of the pin Skip One back there one stop to go the display of golf has been it’s been rough that’s okay let I make one it’s been a while but we got nine holes to go it’s pretty oh he’s no made it no way really well yeah good putt buddy thanks stay up oh all right well three after nine yeah nine holes to play three up through nine Par Four hold 10 onto the back nine it’s a new nine Chris some catching up to do but I’m game for it birdies are about to be flying hopefully oh oh didn’t draw come on come on get over it in it I think it might be over it not enough no draw actually just dead straight is it good oh yeah perfect got one on the got one on the short grass there you go right chance to get one back here he’s kind of I think messed up in the bunker but we’ll see big up there it’s okay this is crazy what I’m about to maybe try and do only reason I’m thinking about doing this got 170 but I think I can maybe hit a flop hybrid and get it out Ah that’s fine that was a float I’ll give you that yeah I just got behind it a little too much I mean Chris is on there for dude chill uh Chris is on there for a potential birdie so got to get that up and down come on I can’t wait for this back n this back n is sick 64 yards I got a tumble one up there and I’m looking like I’m kind of staring bogey in the face but you never know should roll don’t roll back okay don’t mind that at all finally a chance to get one back no he leaves it way short we back and go the Scotty camon again it’s one of those days Chris yeah one of those days man that’s a crazy pen what are they do I mean come on that’s what we just said they’re like right in the top of the ridge I already had some beef with the greens Keepers but that’s why they left yeah that’s why they left I was already roasting them on where they were putting the pens I mean this one is next level though no way did he just hold that again really you think you do this for a living or something makes it worse than those cameras in my face there stuff I want to say to you right now say it all will just bleep it nice gol’s a funny old game it is it’s not it’s actually not funny at all but plenty plenty golf to go only a few more holes I can say that [Music] though soon you pulled that out like there’s no chance he’s getting out that bunker have you ever seen you’ve never seen that no that might have to be a patented shot for me it typically Works cuz comes out super high and spinny but still it’s it’s a pretty controllable shot typically goes about like 175 that’s pretty much read what you had there right yep I just couldn’t get there’s no way I was getting a seven iron out there into the green so I just had to try it but this is going to be a long hole today oh God you’re so 450 into the win yep I’m going to try and play a like a little cut probably means it’s going to draw yep good shot damn damn have you always been a tius guy first set of Club was bu Bubble Shaft tailor maids and then I went I used a tp11 Munos when I was kind of playing for Scotland stuff and then after that I went to titless but then when I turned Pro tailor made to start with and had a bunch of problems with the tailor made drivers um kept caving the faces in on them and then went back to titless probably 4 years ago or so there you go had one one issue with that one driver but both of us on The Fairway one just right rainy weather and a beautiful golf course it’s tough to beat it really is 148 a little downwind sit go do something I don’t know it’s pretty good solid swing Sal swing come on 134 I think he’s a little bit longer the flag see him again need to head it close be [Music] good shock go both got long putts see what happens on this one that was dead online too yeah like I thought I was going be good I heard you say be good I looked up expecting it to be right there unlucky big slope on this one we to the right no way did that turn right at the end oh my God that’s terrible the whole put was going left and it went right at the end also glad I to hit the hole actually oh you made it too good thought I hammered it all right well uh three up through 11 AO the next hole 12 pretty Gable I mean not drivable but pretty attackable par 4 and then the next hole after that is [Music] drivable ideally one in the Fairway is going to make this hole a lot easier too much draw maybe get on the ground get on the ground stay on the ground maybe close might be right in front of the bunker or in oh my goodness yeah that’s tempo right there that’s the way you’re supposed to swing it what’s your best score out here 64 twice damn what’s the course record 63 it’s a touch your subject oh that’s tough why so it’s funny so we do our like yearly like what’s your targets what’s your plans like how many millions you going to bring in whatever but my main target for work is all right I got to try and hit one high and land this soft got a PE wedge 145 it’s just a bummer cuz this is a flyer lie but I don’t really know pretty much what I need you to do come on do you know if that’s on the top layer or the bottom the pin yeah I think it looks as if it’s right on the top of that it looks like it’s right up top and I’m right below it yeah that’s what it looks like get down I don’t know boring yeah smart play though all right Chris another sloppy putt go in the hole oh my goodness all right Michael well going to wiggle left at the beginning then should push right no another couple of uh really exciting pars right [Music] there probably second favorite hole in the course right here drive wheel Par Four Hole in wable hole in wable [Music] it’s pretty it’s pretty far right that one I shouldn’t hit driver should be sensible but it’s a terrible idea he said it was hole in wable so yep stay there it’s looking like it’s going to fall to me being two up after this hole just a very poor t- shot I would like for this rain to go away personally that’s just me though got to take this one up in the air to land it softer this fly or lie bunker oh barely I got a chance at par but not a very likely one oh be so money give him a birdie sure there it is push one of the back n back to two [Music] down that over there that’s tough gosh it looks so good Michael they always do don’t they yeah what [Music] the I love this next tole straight up the hill Blind keyot part three so it’s funny I when I presented Tom Watson his honor membership mhm I said to him I was like hey did you um did you like design 17 holes and then go oh we get one more to go I just put this 100 yard par three in he just laughed he’s like yeah well kind of 123 up to about 133 yeah I like this shot Michael hole in one potential did I just call a hole out I never do that go sure he could be good he’s ready to clutch up could be good if you don’t mind me asking what club did you hit there 52 I should have done what you done last time seven hour I got a 5 too as well spin please right still filming it okay well I got a putt so that’s cool dude I wanted to freaking rip it off that back slope stay locked in Chris is not letting this match get out of hand that’s for sure has to go in yes there’s just no need for that absolutely no need for it come on oh here comes a par that should not have went left everything’s going down towards the T box started to wiggle right at the end it was a little double breaker on my angle yours probably pretty straight yeah right oh my yours went right oh all right well three up four to play par five next bunch of new houses on this hole that I don’t even remember being there so that’s cool if I’ve ever had a good round going this is typically where I don’t know what it is but this hole gets me and I don’t know why huh perfect yeah good for you bad for me but no no no this hole doesn’t get me in fact I get this hole that was stupid perfect finally I’ve played this hole a lot of times and that’s the best t-shot I’ve ever hit on this hole good ball Chris that’s ripped another Fairway 16 17 18 is such a good true testic go you got a long par five long Par Four that’s really tight and a long par three that’s B oh my gosh yeah 15’s where you got to get your stroke here we got to make some birdies here cuz those next three holes are going to be tough ones three up four to play you’re still very much so in this any man’s game really all right I got a hybrid in hand 244 part five I’m actually having a pretty like swing it pretty well today so made some putts I think I’m around even par three birds on the day too much draw oh oh no oh looking good for Chris we will see should be a solid forearm don’t go left on me same shot might oh you’re fine that’s that’s short of the bunker you’re in a great spot I think he went over the bunker so might be in a better position I’m dead I’m literally so boned back here Chris you’re looking good cuz I’m looking terrible I got to try and land this I don’t really know all right just got to hope for the best there’s a chance I go right under this one golf shot right there oh I didn’t expect it I I’m not going to lie it’s sloping away from me downhill eye ball wasn’t a weird lie I’m shocked can’t lie I’m very shocked up and down no ah too skinny no looking rough for Chris tough pin again yeah would you believe it shocking no way there’s no way all right well no matter what guys no matter what happens in this match don’t click off we’re playing these last three and these last three holes are arguably some of the best holes I would say the best holes out here pretty damn good up and down right there here let’s play these last three good 220 or 215 area I was going to hit a low Ball but I think I might actually just hit a normal shot here go in the hole please please please good shot [Music] [Music] thanks never a note woo it’s kind of crazy I’ve never birdied this hole especially with this pen that’s 220 Par 3 kind of having a round right now I’m I’m not going to jinx it two more holes oh boy last time I hit this through wood this right here is a tough golf hole I have three wood catch a piece catch a piece catch a piece it’s tough I mean it’s we’re going to be fine it’s just a matter of if we’re making it on the Green from there all right boys this there’s chance that this goes in the creek creek probably this guy should have chipped that out honestly got it got to hole out for par now Michael go Ino still made bogey come on all right final hole I’m going to try and hit a low Stinger cut see if it’s possible pretty perfect there too late all right driver in hand I mean 300 yards I’m going to try and rip this one no point in laying up we’ve already come so far oh this as good as I got that was as good as I had took a little divot with the driver that was crazy I got the wrong wedge dope I left my 60° on the T box for some reason I’m just kind of stupid 56° here and I mean they really just gave us the worst possible pins today I respect it see if we can get this one up and down bottom Mulligan in the clubhouse that’s a crazy pen by the way we just never caught a break today oh thanks M appr all right well hope you guys enjoyed that video shout out to the
