Anthony Malone, John O Leary Frank Dineen preview the 2024 national matchplay in larkspur park
good evening welcome to the 2024 edition of the national match play preview and I am delighted to be joined by John oi Dian of the game in Cork national match play Champion uh a few a few years ago uh two times national match play champion John no only one only once and one final uh as well two finals three finals three finals and one winning and we have Anthony Malone in Malone chairman Dublin County Board uh legend of the game National stroke play Champion what’s the furthest you ever gotten the match play Skinner H semi-final semi-final right yeah so we’ve we’ve everybody in this call has been beaten at some stage in the match there so and uh many times many many times that’s the thing about this game you you lose a lot more than you win but uh we’re we’re gluttons for punishment right I I I know this show goes on a long time right because it’s gone on over an hour the last couple of years but we’ll try to get it under the hour this time because it makes easier for everybody and we’re going to start the match play is going to be on the June Bank H the weekend Saturday Sunday and Monday in the Fantastic larksburg Park which is in Cashel one of the most picturesque courses in the in the country actually one of the best venues in the country they always have it in ex brilliant condition and without fur do we’re going to start at the start and we’re going to go into round one match one MW watering we have Steven O’Reilly from the Hillview Club current national match play champion semifinalist on this course in the covid year um excellent steady Rock Solid steady player answers the important questions when he needs to and uh Daman Fleming from Deer Park Damian all conquering cou years ago slightly not as prolific as he was but certainly the best pitcher consistent pitcher in the game um John I’m GNA start with you you’ll go first for the first half of these games okay call this one well first of all before we start and I I’ll make this short and brief it’s this is only for fun don’t tell anyone yes and it’s it’s been going on for the last couple years that you’ve been doing Frank and I don’t think you’ve predicted the right result yet in it so let’s remember every year and let’s all remember that now I had a good look at the this um cuz I played just in front of Damen Fleming on Sunday in St Stevens and he played he pitched unbelievable but puted quite poorly and he’ll tell you that himself I’ve watched Steven O’Reilly in the Monster Match play last weekend or two weeks ago and he’s been very very good very impressive and in in her own Tipper area I’d say he’ll be hard to beat however however I have to go with Damien Fleming I think um he’s one of the best players in the game at this present moment and I know he was beaten in the first round by Anthony Khan down there a couple of years ago when Kieran Earles won it but I think he won’t lose his first round so I’m going for Damen Fleming excellent Skinner yeah I’d go I’d go with Damien as well just due to the fact that his pitching ability but Steven Oly will be a hard not to crack I think he got to the semi-final the last time was down there yes he did and uh like he he’s a seriously competitive player he was very unlucky in the Monster Match play I mean let’s be honest Jason K got out of jail on the 17th to beat him and on the 18th yeah kill him and I mean but having said that I mean but no no one no one is denying his ability there’s no he’s a fabulous fabulous player fact as a matter of fact this match could be a final in itself yes yeah I mean are trying to plug the rank here if you had proper rankings we wouldn’t be having these type of matches I think you know but having said that I’ll be I’ll go for Damian but I honestly think it’s it’s 6040 not not not a forone conclusion yeah but H I’d have to call with Damian yeah very good excellent um our next match uh has the inconsistent Frank Denine and the young player from uh Douglas on keting uh own was very prolific a couple years ago went to uh went on two cork teams in a row three cork teams in a row I think uh slightly not reaching the standards that he was a couple of years back but is putting in some effort Frank is inconsistent but could beat anyone but then could lose to anyone as well uh John your your call on this one again this is a tough one Frank I know you’re there now um on is my clubmate um however on has been struggling as you said in in in recent times and he hasn’t won anything and hasn’t been around uh the top three in in a lot of competitions recently so yeah now you can say the same thing about you Frank you haven’t won in in a while however I think your experience over the weekend will stand to you and I think you will be on very good Skinner yeah what I was going through the I put this down as a 5050 match as you don’t always the real Frank theine gone this morning up but if the real Frank theine turns up with his with his uh pigeon yeah I think he’ take on but I I hasn’t been playing as much I think college and things like that have been catching up on him for the last couple of years but uh and he’s count I believe he’s County Board secretary now so things like that do affect your game but having said that yeah I think on experience alone I think Frank will win that game very good just having a slight uh difficulty here on the screen but we’ll we’ll move on so we’ll go Frank with both of those just through to the the next level the next match is aan kery from castl toown Irish Open winner a couple of years back and Dean mulpeter senior from Ryon so what’s your choices there John yeah well I don’t know really I know Evan um not that well I don’t know Dean so really I I’m only going on Evans uh what he’s won and as you’ve already said it was the Irish stroke play in toore I think it was so I’d have to go I’d have to go with Evan because I’ve nothing I don’t know Dean so I’ve no maybe Skinner can help me out here I don’t know yeah Delan is a very competitive player and come cair you have to uh you have to be playing well because you don’t get an easy passage down in cair he beat he beats H Shan Harkins in the final night in the qualifying Sean Harkins was playing unbelievable pitch and put at the moment so I mean that’s a good win but maybe outside of maybe outside of cair he mightn’t be as effective so that’s why I would be going I’d be G for Evan carry I think Evan has youth on his side and I think he’s he’s strong enough player he hasn’t been playing great but maybe this will be the weekend that he might shine yeah so we’re going for we’re going consistently for Evan on this okay one second know the next match is Owen Shannon Collins versus Bernard MO from um from Castle Town Club Bernard moan is is uh is nol M’s brother actually you know nol from St ANS I think he’s Bernard I don’t remember Bernard but Bernard was um was was there over the years and but I think my honest reading on this is that Bernard is here for the first time um at a national match play final and I think he’s done well to get here uh on Shannon is a good cork player playing well at the moment and is uh would would certainly be what I would expect to win at this stage but your choices guys yeah on for me as well I know on well on won the car stroke play in Douglas last year a tremendous tremendous pitcher and when he’s on his game he’s he’s very very very good so I he’ be an not for to actually to win it for me down in Larkspur very good but so I’d go for own yeah yeah I yeah I wouldn’t know much about Bernard obviously he’s a decent player if he’s qualified but on Shannon I think I’ve seen him doing well in the Monster Match play down there did I recently um no he he didn’t make he didn’t qualify for the match play um has been he has been good he’s he’s been very unlucky with draw must been the national match player I was watching so because he he obviously was that yeah he’s he’s a very very solid player so I’d go for all myself personally perfect yeah and you know this is no disrespect to Bernard but it’s just you know we be real what we’re doing and it’s hard to step up to the top of the to the game we don’t know you and I’m sorry I don’t mean that but you know when we when we haven’t seen you play it’s it’s going to be a surprise uh if that happens the the last time that happened was with the Dono brothers from um from St Patrick’s you know no really knew who they were but certainly people knew that they were scratch golfers and knew what the story with that is now a m watering game in the next round Anthony Khan at tiary Hills Anthony did very well up in Navin was joint leader in the the stro play Navin but more importantly in the last time that this was here beat Daman Fleming in the um in the lur CRA or the lur event a couple of years back and Jason double time Monster Match play Champion very impressive last week they beat Damen Fleming with a two on the last got out of jail once or twice but play played or beat a pler of excellent players in kagar just two weeks ago or last week so John your call yeah again this is 5050 however I’m possibly going I played with Co Anthony Khan down in Hillview a couple of years ago when the IR stroke was there when Mark Miller beat Steven Shaw yeah and around around Tipperary um he is very very good yes um we all know the ability of the young Jason krian TW two-time Champion once a champion as you already said and he’ll take a lot of beating but I think Anthony will beat him uh because I think H he’ll be once he doesn’t what am I trying as a pitch and pop player he has the ability be to be top of the game but he doesn’t practice enough I don’t think he takes breaks away from the game so Anthony is back playing as well as ever and I’d expect him to win um no it will be close but he’d be my call yeah Skinner yeah again this is a very a very as John said a 5050 match whichever them turns up on the day Anthony Khan obviously will have it’s not home Advantage but it’s certainly more knowledge of the course than than Jason would Jason has been playing great stuff maybe his get out of jail is gone now you know what I mean he actually had definitely used up six or seven lives down in in in the Monster Match play but having said that he’s a top class player but I I I I think as John said Anthony could do him not still 5050 I’d say I wouldn’t I wouldn’t have a b in it that’s the way I’d be thinking on that but uh maybe Anthony’s knowledge of the course might be a little bit greater than his so on that on that reason we gone for anony great no problem at all Frank you’re getting away in mder you don’t have to get involved yet yeah I’m I’m only need a moderator wait till we get to the second round there’ll be some you know deciding games there that I’ll be on right uh Ray Murphy greatest player ever to play the game we all know his name without without question uh Francis fely from stack Allen is uh from Navin uh or the the naven direction um a good player I remember his son Kieran fely beat me in the the M the intermediate uh version of this the first time it was played that was in 1990 so that was a couple years ago but um so John yeah well I I I think honestly Ray Ry has been hit Miss at the moment in Cork yeah um he’s he’s he played unbelievably well to beat JN John in the qualifying rounds of the match play foro but he has been struggling before that and he and he didn’t do a great round in St Stevens in the scratch Cup on Sunday however the match play and Reay Murphy uh when when they come together and when he he it brings the best out of them so I think R win yeah Skinner yeah I’d have to go along those lines and I think uh Ray loves the labur park course well na stroke play in Laur Park yeah yeah he loves he loves Laur and S it kind of Suits him you know and Francis he’s up against it there but I’m sure he’ll give a good account of himself but I I can’t see beond Ray in this match anyway yeah yeah you know and to be honest you said you mentioned there John that when Ray Drew JN John into national match play I think that was actually a Kickstart to his season to be very honest you know he put effort in he he was top scorer in the monster qualifier the cork the first cork team trial you know that’s right um he was beaten in he was just about beaten in the cork match play where he expected to win the whole thing and you know so he’s he’s definitely coming back to form we’ll come back to him later on he’s still alive in the program you know this is a MW watering tie uh Kieran Earl’s broth disappointing in uh kagar I thought uh would have been probably one of the favorites to go in there for the Monster Match play beaten in the first round um hasn’t really been seen as much this year as normal but the last time that it was H played here he was the champion and he is an Irish match play Championship based on his performance around larksburg Park rob odono a prolific Talent maybe yet to be um yet to be shown at the top of the game but certainly has the the the ball striking ability to to do anything that you want um you know you say that you have to have a certain amount of brashness to do well at the top of any sport he certainly has that and um very interesting game John your call here yeah uh this now as well as Steven oilly and Damen Fleming is is a tremendous first round match yeah um Kieran was a talent was a player and Rob on his day is capable of beating anyone he beat me in the Irish match play in Douglas two years ago and hammered me um he played up in larkor I think with Dennis and in the in the forom and hadal for the record score or something yeah so I was talking to Rob and played with him in the final 18 in St Stevens on Sunday and is playing very very very well and is looking forward to playing K NS yeah and I’m going to go for my clubmate I’m going to go for Rob Skinner he already put me in it here now we all know the talent that Kieran SS brings to the game but uh I was watching Rob there I think I’ve seen him did he get to the quarterfinal of the monster match play he did semifinal is semi-final semi semifinal he was playing good stuff like seen he was playing good stuff we all know robt Kevin n of pitch and P like you know walking but he he’s a great character I was a great character but uh K might have too many guns for him but H I wouldn’t knock I’m actually sitting on the fence on this one I’d hate to I know I’m going to have to have to call somebody I think due to the fact that H Kieran has won around the course and and obviously likes the course I’m just going to go for Kieran but having said that again I wouldn’t be betting on on this it could go either way that was the best decision you made skin you threw it over to Frank he has to make not a good one okay this is I you know I think Rob is a super Talent um you know his head needs to be in the game to to do it and I think his head is right this year to be honest uh he burst on the scene a couple years ago made cork teams and was doing things um but Kier ears around lur has to be has to be has to be viewed with with the the the Imp that it needs I mean he has done he has done it all and done it all on this course uh Kieran ears it is see that’s my first that’s my first deciding vote now and I’ll never hear the end of that one either but anyway right Rob anyway but we can pretend Rob is Kieran as he go on anyway so right uh Ian Dylan uh St Bridgets got to the final here last time it was in larksburg park uh had a great chance up in Bridgets as well but you know obviously like slarks Park probably one of the the main lster players to play there there so well uh Thomas roach from try I don’t know who Thomas roach from try is um John your your call here yeah like like me I don’t know Tom Thomas roach either but I do know Ian Dylan and what what a great player he is and it was really a Pity last year that it was on his own course and he never qualified um but I’m sure he will take Thomas roach and I put Ian Dylan in and that’s going to be a m watering Clash here now Kier ears in Ian in in the next round but we’ll come to that in way come to that in a second yeah SK yeah yeah I’d have to go for uh Ian Dyan I don’t know much about Thomas roach yeah we we won’t go into that one but anyway but anyway look yeah it’s happy Dylan he’s super player his performance in Spain this year was second and one when he won that competition over there so I’m sure maybe got a reaction when he’s come back but I’m sure all guns will be fir next week on the weekend when he’s when he’s playing perfect guys we’re flying we’re flying through this and going good pace so we’ll keep it up uh Edward Hennessy from tore Edward uh Eddie is a a magician around the Waterford courses very underrated at the top level never really has done it at the top top level but certainly is a strong player and brilliant brilliant game all around and Chris ganel now Chris ganel won the national match play in larksburg park I admittedly about 10 12 years ago but he beat Jr crangle in the final that year in a Terren horrendous way if Chris can overcome his potting woes he will take a lot of stopping in this Championship all around but his putting WS are his putting WS John your call on this one well I know both of them well H Eddie as you said around Waterford traore he’s won the scratch cup about 10 or 12 times in in conag Gary’s one about four or five times tremendous talent but never seemed to bring it further than outside of of Watford Chris I was I was talking to Chris last week and he is playing well even with his badp putting he’s pitching unbelievable and is looking forward to lur so I am going for Chris scandall yeah Skinner yeah I think Chris’s experience at this level will stand to him maybe as you I I don’t know much about was put WS or we’ve all had them in our time but having said that no I don’t talking about I still have them I know Frank doesn’t so with that he’s he’s other problems other areas Eddie Hennessy Top Class players but just on just on Chris’s uh ability alone I think Chris just might have too many guns for him so I’ll be gone for Chris very good see making my life easy okay Mark Miller kiner and won the national stroke play in around the corner in Hillview a couple years ago twice winner of the national match play top top top player um it depends on how much effort he’s putting in but but certainly one of the most natural talents in the game Kei Redmond haven’t seen him in a while was was doing very well in Dublin the last couple years Skinner will have more information on this um John your call well I played Keith in the Irish match B last year and I was lucky to get through that round I won three and two and I played very very well to beat him um and I see that he was semi-finalist of the lster match play this year yeah so we all know Mark Miller and his ability um but again I’m going to go for Keith uh so I think uh he’s put in an off L of effort I was talking to a fellow work of of his py Nan and so um yeah so I think ke will beat Mark skner yeah we all know Mark Mark Miller’s ability I mean there probably nobody better better in the better in the game when he’s on fire I mean when he catches fire he just no stopping him he’s an absolutely machine when he starts HEI redmund actually had actually played two rounds with Kei last Saturday and he played quite well in the second round he drove up from off have a game with us on uh he shot an 11 under a three and a three and eight so in the second round he played exceptionally well he’s back into the game now he he he he drifted away for a few years he’s playing a bit of golf now he’s back playing and uh he’s had a few very good wins and he’s won a couple of scratch cups and he’s done well down in the area having said that if the if Mark Miller shows up top of his game Mark Miller can beat anybody in this game when he’s on top form I mean he’s probably one of the best players of of one of the great one of the greats of the game but U it it it depends on which which Mark M if Mark Miller shows up in top F he probably will win but again I can’t make I actually Frank I’m going to leave this one to you because I honestly could not distinguish between the two of them they’re both Top Class players good friends of mine but it’s it’s really it’s a 50-50 match as far as I be concerned so I get to decided vote again um I think Mark Miller is a class above and I think if the right Mark Miller shows up he wins it so he gets my vote see my life is easy right I get all the criticism then you see because boys no I I’m going for going to get all the criticism yeah yeah yeah that’s fine too Chris Galler Lucan versus Alan hobbert from TR um Gallaher doubl Intercounty player Allan I think is a Kerry Intercounty player at least on the periphery of the the Kerry team uh has done very well in TR scratch cups and and some local events uh Chris would have more experience nationally John yes yeah I agree Chris is a tremendous player Captain the the Dublin inter County team the and luk in last year has been around the scene for a long time and uh a tremendous player Allan Allan has been there for the last couple years um in and about the the kry team but hasn’t he’s under under the shadow of Fleming and KGAN um I can see him giving Chris a game so I think Chris will win here comfortably enough I think yeah okay skner okay yeah Chris Chris is a tremendous player as you know is is know he’s been knocking on the door for a few years he he he certainly know stranger to do well in in the match play he got to the quarterfinal a couple of times H Alan hubber did he actually did he win H Ker’s match play this year yeah I think he did he could have think he beat Damen Fleming in the final in the on the 40th hole in the playoffs is that correct in dear Park yeah yeah indar Park so I mean that that’s a nice uh thing to have on your belt you know but having said that I think again it’ll be a tough match for for obviously for both players but I I’d have to go with me my own club mate Chris I think he just has that little bit of a might have a little bit more experience at this level than Allan but uh again it won’t be an easy match but I go for Chris makes it easy for me okay James Ryan Bru versus David Campbell trim the last time the match play was in uh in larksburg park James Ryan got to I think the quarter finals he beat me after I beat Jr and so uh very good around uh lur Park was a member there in the past and uh knows his his way changes allegiance to limi but is from that neck of the woods and David Campbell from trim we know K David from his exploits out foreign more than locally did I do anyway Skinner so um uh John your call here I don’t know David Campbell and that’s I’m sorry but H I do know James James is part of the Lim inter County team in the last recent years uh a very good player um as as you said already I think he is from tieri originally so um yeah I’m short and sweet hair I have to go for James Ryan Skinner yeah I know James Ryan he’s very good player and in the last couple of years David Campbell H has come along and playing very good stuff down and me at the moment and I’m actually going to throw on a spanner in the works there and go for David Campbell because I just think he’s playing well enough he’s hungry enough very good player at this level I don’t know how he’s going to perform but hopefully he’ll perform to the best of his ability I know James Ry is a tremendous player I’ll go for David Campbell very good just to give me more work to do um no James Ryan around laxford Park is very good he he’s very solid I don’t think you’ll make any mistakes and that’s what you need to to get the first of the match play against the guy it’s hard for the lster guys coming down skner because this is a you know and that’s what that’s the reason why I’m going for James Ry okay uh John Farrell one of the Farrell dynasties again from limi and Dennis Monahan from Shandon um uh Dennis a a good a good had been around a long time those vastly experienced uh John yeah they I I know both of them um John is very good player but I’m going back to last year Dennis played JR in in Bridgets in the match split and Jr caught him in the last I think Den Dennis was ahead of him for so long and I think this year he played in in the qualifying rounds of the match but I think he was he four down with five to play or something and he got through Skinner I’m not too sure yeah he actually he was actually H yeah three down with six to play okay so um he won on a toy hle so yeah and Dennis Dennis be my age uh so I’d be sh for the old fell so I’m going to go for Dennis here okay yeah well I know Dennis Dennis M as long as I know any of you two so like realistically John ferle I don’t know much about John ferle absolutely nothing so on that on that now I’m sure he’s a decent player coming from BR is they’re very decent players down there I mean they them fellas are top class there’s a handful of them there and they’re absolutely great players but having said that I think Dennis’s experience might just get him through the first the first round very good next match Michael fennel from Lakeside Michael very good around tiporary multiple scratch Cup winner you know very consistent very Dian of the of the temporary Intercounty team and Mark Newman from rutford bridge there was talking during the week of um people looking to bet on Mark Newman to beat Michael farell in the first round so obviously lster fancied his Chap and had the bookie running for the hills and he was saying no I don’t know anything about this I’m not I’m not putting any prices up for this one so John your call here well I don’t know Mark nman at all at all but I did and I I I did meet Michael last Sunday he came up for the St Stevens scratch cup and he fared quite well In fairness I think he finished fifth yeah um he’s a very very good player and again very yeah and I think he won for there last year he 23 or 24 under or something or two years ago but he he’s a tremendous player a nice guy and again these Tipperary guys around Tipperary they’re different gravy so H I think Michael fenel will win Skinner yeah yeah you you wouldn’t know much about Mark Newman I know a little bit about him he’s he’s been on the scene now for a couple of years two or three years he’s doing quite well I think he’s won a couple of scratch cups in the their area again I don’t think he’d have the experience to beat Michael fenel Michael fenel is a tremendous player I mean he he in the Intercounty in luk last year he was excellent and uh he’s a very very competent player and John said he’s won scratch cups against in in cark and I mean if you can get down to car WI a scratch C you you can play so I on that on that i’ be going on from Michael again Mark Newman is a top player and I’m sure he’ll gain a lot of experience particularly playing Michael Ben tough for the lster players to come down but yeah absolutely right Dean granal St Patrick’s versus D Damen cevy Lucan Damian won the uh World Tour um event up in um up in what’s the name of the place up in ring last last year uh seems to Love Ring common for some reason every time there’s not there he’s right in the mix of it and Dean granal experienced player from St Patrick uh very colorful character if his shoes are rting to go by and uh very good player as well I think this is a very 5050 game John your call yeah it is very very F 5050 game um I haven’t seen Damian in the the winning enclosure for a while this year anyway so um now last year he was brilliant on the Dublin team for the Intercounty and lukan uh Dean has been always on uh he’s out of Pats isn’t he Dean yeah he is yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah um it’s 5050 but I think I’ll go for Dean because I know Skinner is going to go for Damian and I I’m thinking ahead and I want I want Frank to get involved a bit more I’m not I’m not nailed on for Damian here because I was with him over the weekend and he was strugg he said he’s struggling he’s struggling a bit with his pitching you know so yeah danan grenell is a top player now Lads let’s be honest he’s a top player he’s um he’s he’s been knocking on the door a long time now and he done he’s doing well in a lot of tournaments win a few scratch cups does well in laners I don’t know at National level I don’t think I’ve actually seen him doing much but having said that he’s a very good player but Damian is Damian if Damen finds his pitching I mean labur is is a tough course to play if you’re not pitching well so I don’t know I’m going to leave this one to Frank 50/50 this is murder Okay the reason the little birdies were saying to me that Damian Cy his pitching is not doing good at the moment right and form is um form is temporary and class is permanent but form is also important if you’re playing the match play his time so for that reason I’m going to go with Dean granel and Dean will bring a bit of color to the to the game anyway if nothing else Michael Darcy ARR chell’s young lad played in The Monster Match Play Down in the G last week and sha goggen who got to the final of the lster match play uh was beaten in the final there Shawn won scratch cups over the weekend as well top top player uh got to the final of the match play in lukan hasn’t really performed as well since but also got to the quarterfinals list the last time it was in lur Park I know the 18 holes is a bit of a misnomer but Shawn is good around this place too so John your call yeah last year was an eye opener how poor Shawn played I think especially in the match play I think he was beaten in the first round by Tom Lynch um I spoke to him and he said he possibly didn’t practice as much uh on previous years now the way he started this year he must be practicing because he he won uh kilinir scratch Cup last week by a number of shots Michael Darcy I know Michael a lovely fell nice player um was going in and out of senior grade into intermediate for a while actually I think he was in the intermediate stroke play up in naven um but he’s a good senior player solid senior player but I can’t see past Shan Goen Shan Gogan should beat him I think so uh I’m going for Sean Goggins here yeah I don’t know much about Michael Darcy obviously he’s a decent enough player to be there from AR Crusher coming out U down there but having said that Sean goggin seems being a little bit better formed than he was at this as John said this time last year H he got beaten in the final of the lenser match play and Amon Gib he played great stuff so on that on on on those on the farm definitely i’ be gone for Sean Goen and and with his experience I mean he won he won the national stroke play in ring Commons and uh maybe just and he won a laner stroke play in I think it was in trim that year so and he won the lenser match play the same year so he had a kind of a a fantastic year two years ago maybe a little bit of a lull last year but uh certainly I I I would I think he’ll be challenging over the weekend so we gone for Sean good stuff right um we’re on to the second half of the first section so pace is good we need to keep it going though because we we have time limits to set um Steven Shaw uh National stroke play Champion number one in the country at the moment uh playing all day all night and all midnight and in the dark and everything um cut the greens when he’s doing it yeah exactly he cuts the greens and then he pots on them um and Jimmy Blake he never he never puts on on slow greens I’d say because he cuts them all but just before he plays them en rolls oh yeah anyway H and Jamie Blake from TR very good player in in in TR as well obviously Tony’s um young lad uh very very good player as well uh John your call again you have to go for Stephen Shaw he’s one of the favorites for the tournament for the weekend um everyone knows uh what he’s won uh and a big big danger man over the weekend uh Jamie Jamie has been playing well was down in the moner match SP some I don’t know what did he qualify for I think he did he was in the first round beat you might know that Frank yeah he was he beaten in the first round yeah yeah but I I think Steven will be too strong for him um so Steven short for me very good Skinner yeah I’d have to be on the same lines of that Jamie Blake obviously a young lad coming true and he’ll gain a lot of experience over the weekend but he’s up against a monster in Steven Shaw I mean this man is playing absolutely unbelievable pitch and put and uh his dedication to the game is second to known yeah and as Frank he it looks like he has his own private course down there he just seem to play any time and I mean he does and he’s great for the game and he’s he’s lovely person and he’s absolutely on top of his game at the moment so and he’s dedicated to it so I I can’t see any chinks I mean we could be even talking about the winner here you know it’s possible he could be a winner here you know we we’ll come to that we’ll come to that in a minute um I must say Riverdale every time they take a photo of Riverdale it’s fantastic yeah you know us mere mortals who have to play on real courses uh envy that okay now this next game is very interesting and I think is a slight possible banana skin right d seon has is the most improved player over the last couple of years has really stepped up uh won the cork match play in s ANS which is no mean feat beating all the top players on his way had an easy one the sem had an easy one the semi-final against me but you know to beat John John Run San when it’s wind when the wind is blown is is some achievement uh lost to John Cal down in conar but I know he fancied that to be honest but playing again morning noon and night superb player but but Brian kahal is very handy around laxford park there was an Irish Open qualifier there two years ago and he was leading qualifier with 19 under for 36 holes and he is very very good and very streaky especially around the temporary courses this you’d have to have D’s favorite but Brian Cal could be a banana skin here and dah’s got to be careful of that John your call well well you said it all there Frank um I played dahi in the co match play um and he beat me but it’s the manner in which he beat me I think he was 13 for 13 under for 17 holes against me and uh he’s so streaky uh he’s he’s shot up in the rankings he’s in the top 10 in Ireland um very very good player so is Brian K and I re itate what I’ve just said about the tip players going around lur they’re hard to beat down there it’s a close game but I’m cutting it short again I think dahil dahil will win Skinner yeah I actually watched that final that do he played in car think he played John John in the final yeah he he hit a shot in the breeze that he ate in in s down and well the breeze I mean it was a win it was a hurricane Frank he could hardly hold that pH steady when you were doing it and like it was an unbelievable shot and John joh had had a good shot in but I mean that that obviously would be a boost to his confidence he’s a very very strong player over the past couple as you said most improved player in the last couple of years so R CLE again top as John says the tiary lads are dangerous on their own on their own in their own areas you know in their own County but I’d have to go for Dy on on on on current Farm anyway very good right now next game Ian Farley bellus toown uh beat Amy Gibney in the qualification rounds up in um laytown Ian Farley very steady player of of over many years Darry McCarthy making a comeback for 20 years ago he won the national match Play Down in Deer Park and I don’t think he’s entered it since um well he’s entered it every year but this first time he’s made the finals um I don’t think he plays a whole lot I’d be you’ve got to say that uh you know you have to be playing the game to be to really be competitive and I know Ian will be competitive uh John your call on this one I don’t expect you this be a long conversation no h i know both um and both lovely fellas great ambassadors for the game um and I don’t know what way to call it to be quite honest but I think as you say with Ian playing more regularly than Derry even though Derry on his day way back then was fabulous well we H I’ll have to go with the in I’ll cut a chart I’ll go with the in yeah i’ be the same I go with Ian mainly due to the fact that he’s he’s he’s he’s more competitiveness in in under his belt than than Derry would over the last few years I think der plays a lot of golf but having said that he was a tremendous player and still I don’t know he still could reduce the goals but inan Farley I believe in in the match against Amon gy down in U I think that was in uh ltown was an absolutely cracker of a game so he absolutely destroyed Aon and man if you can destroy Aon a late you’re playing well former European Champion as I always call him anyway he won the European championships a good few years ago yeah yeah but it it lovely fell both both both lovely people and and great as John said great ambassadors for the game but on current farm and can only go on Cor F would be gone for in farle I think wouldn’t Derry McCarthy be a huge bonus playing pitch and put to the Kerry team because they could really do with a Derry m to the voice of experience somebody in there to to bring them over the line and he’s he’s he’s a loss to the game that he doesn’t play as much as he used to but he’s in the field and there’s plenty of people would love to be in the field John John sitting at home watching it and twiddling his and don’t forget now he was very much involved last year with his young fellow over in Spain if you remember Frank yeah like and he was well up for it to now and as you said his experience is tremendous and I don’t know why the likes of the carried people and that are the carried County Board are not using the likes of him to to bring their players along you know yeah and they’re going to be hard they’re going to be hard to beat in the monst to County down in kry and if they have Derry McCarthy on that team that it’s going to be so difficult for any playing Derry McCarthy right uh Dennis Hill from tmore and William buy Jr in are it’s almost like a local Derby brought down to Lakeside uh William Buckley Jr pass Champion past strop play Champion got to the semifinal two years ago uh super player great pitcher of the ball uh John your call don’t know Dennis I’m sorry but I do know Willie uh and Billy Buckley he’ll he’ll be too strong I presume because on his day Billy Bley is a tremendous player um as you said semi-final down in um Douglas last Barry morisy in Douglas um and he qualified last year in Bridgets again he seems to be qualifying every year and has it has a chance every year so I prefer I can see him going a lot further here as well in this section so I’m going for Billy Buckley yeah I don’t know much about Dennis Hill as well but I certainly know plenty about William William Bley but he’s a tremendous player if he puts he he he can go a long way in this tournament I mean he probably is I know a lot of people say Daman Fleming is is the top pitcher in Oreland Willie Bley will be a close second to him yeah so uh but again if if he puts he’d go a long way and I’d have to go for William in that match very good uh Patty Nunan I’m I’m absolutely delighted to see Patty Nunan in this event he put so much effort into the game he really he really is a a star in the making he cuts across his pots and pulls them all left but I I don’t know whether the the John oot and Douglas should say that to him or not but um great player DJ Lynch fantastic around larksburg Park really strong local player good player W scratch cup there de he beat me in the scratch cup there a couple years back um very very good around there John your call yeah I know Patty well clubmate play with played with me in the forom in the leagues um has the ability to do great rounds but has another ability that he’s chipping would leave him down or he’s put leave him down and he’s not as consistent as he should be however I play with him in St Stevens last week his score didn’t actually Pro what he was better than the score that he’ done um really looking forward to the the weekend that’s in it yeah uh and uh no we all know DJ Lynch h he’s been around a long long time and again I’ve seen it the temporary fellas around here but I think Paddy will give him a game and I and I I’m going for my clubmate paty n in here that’s it that’s it John you put me on a spot here like P used to be a club mate of mine back too long ago you know we we called patty patty the Cher like you know B we should be calling Frank the chipper that’s what I was gonna say he’d be calling me the chipper but for different reasons DJ Lynch I don’t know that much about DJ he’s fairly he’s very experienced player I I I know that but very good I as you said I’d love to see pad Newan doing well he’s a lovely fell he’s a great Ambassador for the game he’s he knocks on the door all the time he enters everything he and everything and like I mean sometimes you get your reward for doing this so i’ be hoping that p n I know he’s going to be very difficult to beat TI It Beat to chat from tiary hills in tiary but having said that I’d be hoping p n will win that game so I’ll be gone for p well done that’s good who said local favoritism doesn’t matter right Jim Jim judge from McBride we all know Jim Jim got to the semi-final last year pre-qualified for this uh Leonard Amar from Arie Leonard is a super player for and has been for many years um John your call again I don’t know Leonard at all so uh but I do know Jim um had tremendous uh match play up in Bridget’s last year he said he got to the semi-final uh I think that was a surprise to him that he got so far last year but uh a member of the ladent county team uh normally plays with Mark I think that that was the pairing that they had up in Lucan um so with me not knowing Leonard that well I’ll have just have to go with Jim judge Skinner you know yeah i’ be going for Jim judge as well Leonard is a tremendous player and does very well in scratch cups and that around the the lster area but Jim is a very very very competent match play player as he proved last year I think he beat Jr in the quarterfinal when everyone would have expected him to be hammered and uh like Jim Jim played I think he beat Ray Murphy in that interprovincial in MD this last year or so uh Jim Jim is a tremendous match play player so be gone for Jim George very good Leonard Le Leonard Amara I remember playing in practice behind him in Castle Island one year I don’t know what it was in but it was practice I think we were going out to tr the same day you know pre before the event and he must have pitched 10 holes in a row to inside six Ines he was awesome in in cast in Castle practice super player right Darren McKenna from kilinir versus Jason Lin from Port marck um heard of the names I well obviously I know Jason Larin Jason is an Intercounty player as well uh Darren I think is is a low Intercounty player I don’t know him that well but um yeah John you’re going to have to help me out here well Skinner is gonna have to help us out here as well yeah I know Darren to see but I’ve never actually seen him play I’ve seen Jason play I think Jason’s Port marck isn’t he but as you say former uh Dublin cter team very very a very very good player and that again when You’ have nothing to to judge it on I just have to go with Jason Arin sorry about that but um yeah Skinner you’re gonna have to give us a steer on this well I actually don’t know that much about Darren McKenna but I wouldn’t know that I wouldn’t be familiar with him you know but uh obviously he’s a decent enough player to come out loud Jason Jason is a kind of a he’s he’s an absolutely brilliant player on his game but as most people are anyway but I I think the hunger that Jason has for to game might just get him through that match I think he might just have that little bit of an edge on on Darren McKenna I don’t remember seeing his name ever appeared in any of these competitions before so I I I think Jason would just have too many guns for him so be gone for Jason Lin great okay and on where we go right Steph Murray uh Dublin Intercounty player has done it all basically multiple Dublin match play Champions uh Dublin championships uh I think he did well in the lenser championship as well got the quarterfinals in national match play a number of times as well Peter odonovan from Sans used to be from bishopstown uh Peter is a streaky player as well has done well in the match play got to the semi-final last year uh was unlucky in the semi-final last year ran out of steam I think he was a bit tired was playing morning noon and night at the start of the year and we haven’t seen him in the last couple of months so it’s hard to say what form he’s in at the moment um John yeah uh Peter had a tremendous year last year as you said semi-final the Irish match beaten in the CK match play final by John John um a very very good player um but but as you say we haven’t seen much of him played in the leagues this year with st an’s his new club um did perform okay but not to what the ability what he what he played in last year so we all know Sten Murray uh he’s I think he won a scratch cup there last week or two weeks ago and the scores that he’s doing around Dublin by all accounts is tremendous so um and a lovely guy both of them are but I think Steven will win yeah skner yeah I’d be going for Steven in this one H Peter done and I’ve watched him over the last few years I think he done well in Irish ropes as or down in Ry Ry he Damen Fleming said it was the toughest game he ever played ever that was in the semi-final I think wasn’t it abely cracker of quarter final it was a cracker I actually watched it but having said that like uh as you said he hasn’t been playing much I don’t think you been going to these championships without without having the the practice and the and and the work done on your game you know so step is a I’d say stepen is up there with aan Gibney as one of the best Putters in the game and if he gets his pitch and going it all down there Steven will go a long way so i’ be gone for step Mor yeah Peter Peter is is Peter’s a super player good good good pitcher of the of the ball but motivation is important in these things you have to be competitive you have to be fighting for for your games and uh you know that’s that’s the way it is right Gary Healey uh ltown we all know Gary Intercounty player did well in the match play over the last couple of years George Beardsley for McBride George is around a long time has been playing consistently well um John yeah I know both of them well George would be around my era um good good player but yeah he’s a very good player good match player um we all know the abil we all know the The Good the ability of Gary Healey uh however I’m going to thrust spanner in works and I’m going to go for the old and I’m going to go for George well nobody likes as much lik much or nobody has as much confidence in their own ability as as Gary let’s be honest and he’s a tremendous player George won’t be won’t be overall by taking on Gary so it’s it’s to me it’s a 5050 match but just uh I think Gary might just have that little bit more gone for him at the moment than George but George George can really really play he got to the semi-final the last one year up there in D I think Darren Collins won it in C Point that’s right he beat Ray in the final yeah and H George was absolutely unbelievable I think I think uh I think Darren had two hallem ones back to back two and three holes yeah so yeah to kind of get back right into the game and but H haven’t said that I’d be gone for Gary so that means it’s a vote for me right thanks guys no I great with George beerley he’s one of the most honest and straightforward the in in the game um you know but Gary is Gary’s putting in the effort I think he’s putting in The graft and for that reason and because he bit me in Ryon I’m putting Gary down as the Barry morisy the man the man with the h i I actually love Barry Mory he says he’s going to take me out in the revolution that’s to come but anyway we there’s a there’s a long list there anyway uh Barry marsy match play Champion two years ago uh out of of what an enigma in the game brilliant over years and years and years and it has to be said the for man at the moment on Walsh is winning scratch cups like they’re going out of fashion every week shooting consistent scores and doing really really well and holding his leads and holding his competitions W KES and St Stevens in two out three weeks bit disappointing down in um kagar uh he has he has left he has gone into two match play championships as favorite as one of the strong favorites and hasn’t really performed once or twice in the past but this is a great opportunity for him John you’re going to call this you know Barry well I know both of them well um I played it I played with on around Collins’s in the final 18 last two weeks ago um as you say the scoring he’s doing is phenomenal around Cork and he’s won three of the last four scratch cups I think yeah uh Barry Barry played so well in St Stevens last week 10 under and um didn’t play in the final 8 he need some place to go to but uh but again it just shows that he’s coming into form as well Barry is a tremendous match player on has got to the final of the Irish match play Down In Kay Castle he was beaten by um yeah correct so we all know and they know what it takes to get that far into the Monday morning so it’s going to be a close game however I have to go really with all much yeah I think along the same lines I’ve been just watching what’s been going on down there over the last few weeks down down in Monster and and down in cark particular I mean home wal has been shooting the lights out down there some of his is phenomenal he’s winning competition with three and four shots and he’s playing very well but again bar it’ll be no easy you won’t stand on the first tnb bar you you earn every every every uh pole you win against him but uh on on current Farm I have to go with on W very good right the battle of the toms Tom Hanley from bro uh Intercounty player well known to to us all uh has at the peripheries of of the top ranks of the game for years and is super well beatly Donan to get this far to to qualify and Tom Lynch uh best chipper in the game I’ll I’ll I’ll say that now uh I I’d love to emulate him uh two boys very good very tight uh Tom probably not playing as much as I think he like but can be very good H one a good game against Gary Sullivan to get here uh John yeah know both them well Tommy uh Vice Captain of me with on the monster team this year um lovely Guy Tom Lynch was a member of of espb Balon loock where I was and now he’s up in Collins’s uh Tom got to the quarterfinal of this down in down in um larksburg the last time he was there when H I know because I had him backed yeah um but he’s he’s and he he won he beat Sean gogins in the first round in the match last year so he’s a dangerous dangerous guy like yeah uh so on that alone if Tom is if if he’s practicing I don’t know is he but if he’s practicing as much as he should do he’d go far here as well so I’m going for Tom Lynch here Skinner yeah H I know both the lads they’re very competent players Tom Lynch was aw from the game for a while I think he was playing a bit of golf or something but having said that Tommy Hanley is an absolutely Gem of a player I think on his game absolutely brilliant player and obviously playing out a bro I mean you have to be on your game to do anything down there but uh I’m going to go for Tommy right move on on Alward who had a fantastic Monster Match Play Down in kagar last week um and John mcra from Deer Park a very solid uh carry player a consistently under Intercounty team does well in stroke plays haven’t seen him too much in match plays doing well but did well a couple years ago in this one I think it was tore he got to the quarterfinals at least um so John yeah I I I I wasn’t in conar but I watched it on Facebook um mostly your coverage Frank and I saw an play there and I don’t know him but I was quite impressed the way he played uh I know John um but he hasn’t been playing as much he mustn’t be because I haven’t heard anything of him recently except for qualifying for this so I’m cutting a nice nice and short and sweet here so I’m going to go for own been and form qualifying in getting to the semi-finals of the on to match play I go for him to win here skner yeah I must been watching the same program as you Albert he actually impressed me with with with the way he played that day he was very good or you know over that weekend yeah and again John mcra hasn’t been in the linelight for it for for this during this season anyway he’s a tremendous player but I’d go for own particularly the fact that’s in temporar probably will stand to him we’ll keep going we have to make up some time George mcre old County fantastic wa half sorry SK I’m under pressure here we’ll get it done we’ll get it done George mcre old County um fantastic player doubl inter County player best shipper in the game uh himself and Tom Lynch are going to take each other on Pat Martin a local tiporary player uh doing well to get to the qualification rounds of this John uh George for me uh would have too much I don’t really know that pat pat Martin but uh George be too much George is a tremendous player part of the Dublin Intercounty team as you say so um yeah and what a tremendous player he is he’ll be too good for Pat I would think so I’m going for George skner yeah I’d have to go with the same lines as John there I mean George has been Ultra consistent I mean over the past five years he’s probably the best player in Duan and one of the top players in lenser over the past five years so don’t know much about Pat Martin I wish him well but I I I I’ll be I’ll be gone for George great tough game this one Liam Myers anybody who can anybody who can play with Frankton the leagues and pitch for him has to be a good player that’s all I have to say um Liam if this is close if this is close coming down the wire there’s nobody better than Liam Myers and I’ll stay that now but a and Gibney you know he has to be up there with one of the greatest players not to have won a national at this stage even though he When an Irish open he’s super awesome in lster uh match play last week and a recipient of the qualification uh to the event because of this and that’s a good step forward for the game uh aan has to be one of the favorites to win the event outright uh John yeah Liam beat me uh and beat me on the last and uh you’re right with you’re saying the longer and the closer the game went on the better Liam got yeah um he and a deserving winner against me um Aon Gibney we all know Aon lovely lovely guy um had an opportunity in Douglas I think he was four or five up with with a couple of holes to go and and he was beaten seven up yeah uh so it was an opportunity lost by him but yeah and what he’s done he beat goggin in in the lster match this year so I’m sorry Liam good and all that he is I’ll have to go for Aon Gibney Skinner yeah yeah be the same I’d go for Aon Gibney H Le Li again I know Li is a tremendous player but aan to me he’s probably in the top three Putters in the country he’s an absolutely unbelievable if he gets us put and gone around lbur he’ be dangerous for the whole weekend un expect him to do well again he’s up against with Liam but as Frank says if it gets tight but hopefully i’ be i’ be expect hopefully Aon will get a few up and it doesn’t get as tight as Frank might be expecting it to be but uh it’s no far gone conclusion but I’d have to go for aan very good podo suvan Majestic one of the forign players for the last two years to be honest um really coming into his own putting real effort in super player his pting has improved an awful lot and Darren K from Royston Darren works we know Darren the effort and and promotion he puts into the game very strong player on the killer team uh John yeah I know both of them well um but has been shooting the lights out for the last year and a half has shut up the rankings up I think he’s in the top six or seven uh I think he finished four in the hour stroke in Riverdale finished the last 80 holes uh the last 36 holes obious 54 with tremendous score has been knocking on the door here and scratch cups in Cork he won up in Rock Lodge um yeah tremendous to have him back from the game because he he he he he went away for a good couple of years no Daren as well a great Intercounty player as you say H but I think pody will have practiced her own larer um and I think he’ll be too strong for Dar on the day so I’m going for potty potty was our Monday yeah Skinner yeah yeah I have to go along the same lines as that I think potty ptty has been playing great stuff over the last couple of years I’ve just seen some of his performance and they’re tremendous he’s as John said he won a scratch Cup in Rock Lodge earlier on in the year Darren I don’t think plays as much as he as he would like to he’s so much involved running the club and running count involved in County Board and things like that but having said that py I think will have too many Gs for there and I I think P could be a I mean we won’t go to the next match but the winner obviously me the winner meets the whoever wins the next match and I mean I tell you one thing there’s some tremendous second round games coming up there if if if who we tipped goes through again I go we’ll quickly go through those Gavin Carl TR and John kahal from FY don’t know Gavin John Cal twice beaten finalist last two years seed number two superb consistent player throughout the whole thing John yeah not taking anything away from Gavin I know him all right but I wouldn’t know much about his game um but we all know John Cal uh my force and partner for the CK team um tremendous player has been got to the final in the last two years um should have possibly won bought he tell you but he didn’t that’s pitch and p uh one in kunar last week so he’s coming into form at the right time uh yeah John CA has to be Skinner yeah I’d have to go along the same lines I don’t know much about Gavin Carol but uh he’s up against a monster in John CLE I mean John cattle is tremendous player probably as he said as you say as John said he probably should have won the last two but he didn’t so I mean you get your opportunities you need to take them I’m sure he’d be uh he’d be putting in effort again he won last weekend in conar so I’d be gone for John K very good right guys we’re going to quickly go through the next bet now because we’ve come up with a winner and we’re we’re under time pressure because Mr O here is uh is under pressure right yeah ah this is this has to be the match of the century uh Damian Fleming Frank Denine yeah well if okay if if Daman gets through Steven which we said he would uh he will have to have played well yeah um and his game would have to be right I think both of you will be tuned up for this match Frank um but I’d have to go for Damian I’d have to go for Daman so I won’t say any more about that but I have to go for Daman and you’re looking at me here now and uh shaking your head but that’s skner skner I think Frank if if Damien beats Steven right H I think he’ll beat you and provide it he doesn’t get he doesn’t get caught up in the game to much and tries too hard to beat you but I honestly think he just he’s just a tremendous player like let’s be honest I anyone playing Damen will have to be on the very top of their game uh but I’ll just say I go for Daman right he’s different gravy at the moment the way he play right Evan I I totally disagree with we we’ll come back to that right um Evan Cary on Shannon on Shannon will win here I think because h i as I said I think he’s my Dark Horse yeah uh and I think he’ll beat Evan um just when if ‘s game is on he’ll be a match for anyone so it’s on Shannon for me skner yeah I think I’ll go along with on Shannon there as well I mean Evan is a tremendous player as we know but I think that on shanana might just have too many guns for him at this stage of his career another cracking match and Sunday morning is going to be superb up here Anthony colan versus Ray Murphy yeah it’s going to be a tough like I go back the last time I was there um Ray was be Ray beat Bri off Flynn I think in the fifth tie Hall yes um now you like on on history on on if you’re going on on on past history Ray Murphy would win easily however Anthony Khan around Tipperary is going to be a big danger horse I think um so I’ll go look I’ll go Anthony Khan won’t be happy with me I’m going with Anthony Khan Skinner well I’d be the complete opposite I’d be G for Ray Murphy I I don’t know whether Anthony Kohan will handle Ray Murphy I know he has the ability and the and the game to I think Ray might just have too many too many uh shots in in in the bag for him you know we know Ray loves lur so I mean particularly if he’s there after getting a match yeah so that that would be a big help to him so I’m going for Ray Murphy thanks guys Lees up to me I’ll tell you why I’m going to make the choice they make because it is the morning game on the Sunday if it was the last game on the Sunday I think that’s a different me method and I think if it was the first game on the Saturday the first round I think Anthony would have the advantage in both but because it’s the first game on the Sunday morning I’m going to go with Ray Murphy experience alone and the fact of when it’s being played right Kieran ear and Ian Dyan this was the final three years ago or four years ago um John okay well in the previous round I’d robbed to be kieren so how could I so how could I say that Kieran would beat Ian then so uh um now again it’s going to be very very tough H now I think the further Kieran gets the better he gets yeah so um I’ll go for Kieran ears here so I think yeah skner yeah I’ll go I’ll go for um again kon’s a tremendous player but I I just think Ian Dylan might be a dark horse this year I’m going to go for Ian Dylan and again on on your ter Frank early morning as as John said Kieran gets better as the as the tournament goes on I think he might catch him call on the Sunday morning it might beat him yeah uh again though you know it’s a Sunday morning there’s a huge Fitness element to this as well it’s a war of attrition as goes along I think uh Fitness doesn’t come into it in the first morning of the the issue I’m going to go with Kieran with the deciding vote see now how I do this very easy right Chris scell and Mark Miller John again I went for Keith Redmond against Mark in the previous round democracy aw I’m getting them all wrong yeah democracy is a disaster going yeah but uh I’ll um yeah it’s going to that’s going to be a very close game if if Chris can put as we said before he’ll be very dangerous too strong for Ian Farley so I think uh William Bley for me SK yeah I I in farly to me is a very very good player he’ have got a match under his belt William Bley if he puts will will will take a lot of beat whoever he plays but uh I’m going to go foran fary okay so that means it comes to me um if Willi if they were for’s partner they’d be brilliant yeah Ian’s part putting is is is great William uh I’m going to go with William this time I just think he’s too strong for you I I know I’m a big fan of going for the guys who can pot but I I just think William Will Be Too Close Patty Nunan uh the surprise of first round against GJ Lynch versus Jim judge well if if we get it right with Patty in the first round I would give him a right chance yeah I would give him a right chance against Jim then so and he is my clubmate so I’m going for paty Nan Anthony I’m GNA go for Jim judge just I just think Jim H is a very Rock Solid match play player so he has the farm in the bag so I’ll just go for Jim I like I think Patty Nunan has so underperformed his scores the way he’s played I played with him Mountain Bishop toown I’m going to go with Patty Nunan not to to disant not to give out to Jim judge but I think Paddy will be on such a high that he’s true to to this stage that he he he’ll do well Jason Larkin and Steven Murray in all Dublin Affair John I think I think if Steven is on his game Steven will be too strong for Jason that’s not saying Jason hasn’t the ability to beat Steven but I just think that uh on his Steven Murray with the he’s more experienced than Jason as well I think Steven Murray will win Skinner yeah I go along the same lines of John there I think Ste if Steven pitches well over the weekend he’ll go a long way in the tournament Jason’s a tremendous player but I think Steven just has that little Edge on him at the moment very good Gary Healey and on Walsh this should be another cracking game well if while she can continue playing the way he is I I don’t know how well or how bad or how Gary is playing to be quite honest we all know of Gary yeah and uh we all know of his ability there’s no doubt about that but we I can tell you for a fact on Walsh is playing out of his skins so I’m going for on Walsh yeah well the farm line speaks for all W and and we know Gary Gary’s a bit of an enigma if Gary plays well he’s he absolutely Canon get to us from everywhere chipping putting anything you know what I mean but having said that on the farm line at the moment I’d be gone for own w perfect Tommy Hanley and on Elward yeah well I I went against Tommy
