okay Tom Kim to under 68 today one under for the championship can you describe your round for us uh with an opening statement yeah um you know really pleased to shoot on the part today you know this course is definitely um brings the best out of you uh just mentally um skills SK skill wise as well and you know did a really good job you know stay grounded all day and um just yeah just um had a good fight you made a nice run in there where you birdied four five and seven can you talk about those birdies yeah it was really big I hit a really good t-shot on four you know just somehow got in that just got in that bunker and you I hadit a really really good five iron to you know three and a half four feet and kind of got the momentum on the back nine made another you know smelly seven eight footer uh for birdie there and then you know just kind of kept the momentum going and it’s really nice to kind hit that nice little eight Aron on you know seven to again another three-footer which is just kind of takes the stress off obviously you’ve had just a brief US Open career but you’ve played well in the first two and now you’re playing well again what is it about the US Open that brings the best out of you um I think I just enjoy it um it’s it’s it’s a tough test you know I think what I what I really appreciate about it you got to be mentally tough that’s that’s you know that’s as as good as you need to be skill skill set Wise It’s all you know mentally and physically you just got to be there all the time and I think that’s kind of helped you mentioned mental toughness is there anything that you go through before your rounds um that help you to become you know like locked in get in the zone yeah I mean I do I have my routine that I do every night and every morning and um you know mind mind sets and stuff and I’m really big on on those type of things and um you know I just I kind of get myself prepared once I get out here it’s it’s all business yeah and um 15 the pin position looked really tough uh just from my perspective um how difficult was it playing for you guys today you mean just 15 or you mean yeah just the pin position on 15 oh yeah it was it was a really tricky one obviously they moved the te up which is really generous but they put they put a pin where you just you know it’s it can go both ways you know you don’t really it feels like you don’t want to really must miss it right but then if you hit it on the left side like I did you know I had a 35 40 footer and it’s just it’s so fast like it’s Jason hit a chip over the green and um it’s really tough I’m as short as short as the club we’re hitting it’s it’s still not a gim me power or even sometimes bogey so um kind of interested to see how the afternoon kind of plays it yeah and seeing that and knowing that it’s probably going to get baked out how do you think that that impacts the strategy that I mean you had and then players will have um on that hole um yeah like I said I think it all depends if it does get baked out like in the afternoon yesterday it kind of stayed the same I felt like I didn’t really watch the morning wave play but um it yeah it’s just it’s going to be really like I said you might hit good shots and not get rewarded as much so you just got to be in it and I feel like that’s what the mindset was and I feel like we’ve done a really good job and it’s kind of the next two days that’s how we’re going to go about it thanks for your time thank you
