for well we are absolutely elated to be here live for round two of the surian Queens Masters 2024 from Soul 1 on a stormy day in Yang Yang where there were threats of thunderstorms and the threats have not fully dissipated the rain will hang around with us throughout the course of this moving day Saturday we will cut the field down by more than one half by Day end and we will find out if anybody can go on and keep Pace with the brilliant play so far of pongman G our three time defending Champion she was our sole leader after yesterday’s conclusion at 8 under hung you mean she was right in the thick of the race finds herself at 7 under at the minute playing at five and with a soft touch from The Fringe is able to see that ball come to a rest a foot or two if that’s beyond the PIN sh s also that’s seven underpar and is additionally able to play that punch to very short yardage was looking for a birdie but we’ll settle for par and T put Power recorded for her pugman G she’s lost the leads through no fault of her own she is part each and every hole to begin the round but currently finds her herself trailing still at that eight underscore there’s the park confirmed as well for CH s she finishes with a 69 in this second round tied for third at a sevencore ea1 also early in round four under this on Five and trying to stay there slightly above the pin a little downhill efforts will keep her exactly where she was when she had teed off that is five pars consecutively to begin the round tied for 14th position let’s go to eion at 18 three under is where we find her she’s on the green but is not able to stay there for very long TV and Sun s searching for a birdie take her to four under it’s a great read and an equally good execution [Music] we take a tour of the par five 480 M sixth hole and this the Midway break the dog leg to the left begins and a significant climb on top of that to get to the pin in fact it is 24 M trying to reach the top on average after the second shots 50 to 30 m remain which will inevitably require just a little wedge shot to get up onto the Dan floor [Music] playing the second on six punishing Shield she is at plus one it’s most of the way down into the widest parts of the Fairway before the green Yin leads after shooting a 66 today it is one stroke Beyond pman G who has twoth third of her second round still to play it’s not away also looks as though a fairly consequential change of elevation 6.6 that might be six and we’ll still require require excuse me one extra tap and toan who is facing the opposite proposition uphill 3.8 is anticipating some right to left break but it’s stays true and we’ll tap down she finishes with a 38 on the way and backto back Bogies three of them on the back night four of them overall on the day to wonder is her score after 36 holes that is seven strokes back Wii one of these holes will end up with the first birdie she is methodically going about her business here trying to set herself up into that position to get there groupmate follows suit almost in a perfect parallel line with pman G can go to this very green and her group is contesting can move back to even with a make here some over hits and a misread of the line a B on two a double at three got one of those Strokes back at five but does not influence the scorecard power five at like that was clearly going to need a lot of speed was a long awaited conclusion young stays five back with the hot on her heels company it’s 218 M out for H and will fall down in terms of the elevation to go on and reach we know she’s a power hitter we know she has that little extra oomph to those hybrids into those woods she tries to reach but will come up narrowly short and settle in the rough this is K from the FR looking for birdie and has a perfect read of that Putt and an execution to match her second of this front nine as she moves to three under par 77 looking for a bit of flare of her own she’s at four under and has a punt to move within four off by a whisker G finally ready to go and gets that to five me or so after extended pause a good bit of wedge play one to follow suit at 72 M before the PIN mid left the pin placement today probably the same distance but on the opposite side on the wrong side of even par tan at the par 37th is rather shallow shot Leed to the rock this is the LI he went a little aggressive and tried to reach scoping out the break points and the changes of elevation for she is officially 28 M out so that is what would be a normally more than adequate second shot but with that extra power she’ll feel a little disenchanted by how much she’ll still have to do with her putter so still has to keep the rain glove on guys are anything but friendly at a minute on but rolling back toward the Fringe that plus one yes is 10 back but it is also rates around the danger zone if the round were to end now she would not make the cut finds herself outside of the top 70 which she needs birdie train but she’ll settle for yet another par that’s a third of the way through the round with an unchanged score K Sun seven and eight it’s a nineiron for her on this par 4 she goes right at the pin and is rewarded for it A really lovely approach so 2 10.7 11 me away to just a few feet shine spe not quite ready to go at the next te which seems like a good time to take a look at the updated leaderboard we got a fairly good lay of the land at this point in the event it’s not quite Midway through the rounds of our featur group but it is enough to give us a site picture that is able to top 10 so much more to go on this rainy Saturday at Soul 1 the second round of the celan Queens Masters for 2024 take a quick break and be back with more on the klpga tour don’t go anywhere for for for for for for for welcome back we nearly return to our second round coverage with a very impressive birdie pot for ea1 remains just on the outside looking in soan meanwhile the par 48 gets that to about pin high with a nice approach shot down the hill turn to seven hung mean single digit says she’s just able to clear the front of the green with eyes for the bottom of the cup that’s slightly misaligned around the PIN for everyone on part [Music] four G finally can celebrate a return to the top with 11 holes remaining in this second round a co- leer the first time today mean confidently securing his score as well bucks this was the moment we were waiting for for G in the round in her season she loves so one is excellent here she’s excellent in many places we know that especially on the legend course of This brilliant Country Club she does some of her best work one to T off a definitive line to the right from the team ground and first effort is cushioned as it lands in the Fairway me the last to drive and likely the longest to hit see manipulates the Flight of the ball that little bit extra distance and also comes to rest in the Fairway she Shield another hole another opportunity to get to even he not going to come here either she is lacking the understanding of how strong to play these putts cuming Sun seven she’s 161 out with a five iron in hand may be five in his her decision as well she has the perfect lay of the land and plays it beyond the pin but only just be a comfortable birdie putt for her next On The Fringe and only just a long way back spee speech lman G looking to double down on her birdie at the last and we wonder if it was like a shot out of a cannon that we’ll see her Ascent be tough to match so far so good the putter has to come through not quite as dramatic but equally well played by E1 they just set for hung mean pitching wedge four just outside of 100 meters and needs to climb six and not deep enough to stay on the green she will Nestle on to The Fringe sh Eugene it is the first third of her round in the books she Trails by three but already has three birdies on the day little cions just short of the green to let’s call it 4 M to its left that’s on the part three going right out the flag that is as close to an ace as we have seen yet today a marvelous golf shot fair play Kim B at the end of her front nine has a third birdie moves the five back and into a share of 16th position really nice putt well Ed just before the turn there comes the break at the very end but a little bit too far out when it started long a shake of the head in frustration and now ea1 as well just settle for a tap and Par speaking of par C me sun trying to save it four to five foot range causes her some extra trouble [Music] officially makes it two for two and takes the outright lead right on back last year when she won it took a one-hole playoff at the A1 and nine under was the score she is already at 10 so H at 150 exactly here at 9 goes pin seeking and I think she’ll be decently satisfied with that It’s Tricky you don’t want to play much shorter you risk getting stuck off the green front Eugene 4.4 but it fades away and we’ll see her remain at six under three pars consecutively after three birdies in her first four holes machine shield with brilliant bit of control to tame the difficulty this screen and we meanwhile can head right along to the final hole of the front n here on the legend course a 370 M dog leg left the Par Four wide at the base of the Fairway narrowing before opening back up the car path meanders all the way down the left side and the average drives will leave approximately 90 to 120 m still to play and those distances well they are short of the narrowest part and from there it is ability to go on and attack a fairly long green that widens out in the middle today in search the flag get somewhere amongst those numerous changes of elevation and officially here at number nine just eight yards from the left almost the exact center of the green into the area at which it widens for speech for she remains disappointed with tricky the greens are playing able to have a score that is improved from where she was when she teed off no such difficulty with the opening drive as it is blasted down into the Fairway the longest of the three exactly in the middle first C he so he her final hole before the turn priority number one was the speed of that putt everything else would have been bonus or secondary ends up being a tput partk [Music] it’s an excellent P pun machine Shield long awaited birdie since hole number five it’s out with a 37 officially and it brings her on the safe side of the cut line J able to rescue her part as well here green clears and our featured group prepares G the first to approach takes an unfortunate skip to the left weightwise she go precisely where she wanted to be doesn’t end up in poor position by any stretch but it is that rather unfortunate kick that takes her away from her ultimate Target one looking to follow suit at 166 M away from the Fairway she goes even softer and as a result of her being right leaning the hes in the bo doesn’t ask to do much more than use it to herant slly inside of 150 second closest to the pin also a putt that will require a lot Eugene at 8103 and needs the climb pugman G’s leaderboard looks as such with a one stroke cushion over he sine 2 pass coach Kim G CH H there tied for fourth position Ching leader of a pack of three tied for seven projected cut line remains at even our second round coverage of the Sultry and queen’s Masters we’ll return after a short break for for for for for for for for we are back to work and here we are on number nine ea1 beginning the PS looking for Bur it is undeniable that she had most amount of ground to make up she’s left herself with a little more than a TA in par coach you the picking up unable to convert on her effort either let’s see how hung you mean caner is the second furthest out on nine it’s 11.4 M needs to give this a good whack to get it started up the hill it will drop and the line becomes the priority would have been tough to see if the line would stay all the way but a decent putt nevertheless the next effort ends in a similar story let’s see if pman G can rewrite the script and secure her third birdie in a row already L by one 5.8 uphill right to left and just a bit too much break goes out with the 34 for Advantage is one pugman G course the story of the you know well now search of her fourth straight title defense of the surian queen Masters for event that is only 5 years old know the spirits are high even if the birdies aren’t falling as quickly as this field has already been whittel down to 118 would like it is 31 p.m. local time in YY for this fifth surian Queens Masters not the ideal forast by any stretch of the imagination a primarily rainy day it was when we woke up it was when we got to the course and it has really picked up the last hour or two but looks like some break might be in order for us and we’ll knock on wood that the thunderstorms remain off in the distance tomorrow looks a positive day weatherwise temperature range for the day from 18 to 25° C a slight wind only 4 M at the maximum the visibility won’t be outstanding but it should be dry and it should be very conducive to some low scores tomorrow it can be today still in spite of the elements this is Kim she is on the green and inching ever closer to the PIN for [Music] from in behind the tree it affects the way the green can be attacked and nobody would have expected it to affect the shot to that degree maing Shield finds the drink with a big splash sh for [Music] sure let’s a look at the replay of the shot that saw her find the hazard and has suddenly become a big speed bump in her round she prepares to play her drop we can go to the 10th t as the back nine for p g begins sh Eugene 136 at n will drop rather significantly more than 10 met down to the green one is next how much of a drop there is a helpful bounce and roll back she be in the first few Blades of grass off of the Fairway but not the most restricting of Lies goes through the motions and addresses the ball types of holes really favor her and ability toch the B like she brings those bunkers be comfortable she to take some more of the distance of this ho out appr is on 10 next just past the shadow of the flag very much into one put needs it try minimize the danger after dropping into the water8 score on the third which is her four of the day very much poised to be in one of the final tomorrow B is officially 11.3 M away Ling sun to get to beneath even par it’s just enough as it will descend in the final moments it’s her first Birdie on this second round Saturday here at 11 and brings her not quite comfortably but a little bit more of a padding inside of the cut [Music] line just misses out on their birdie score will remain unchanged 2 it’s a very short power for 298 M just a wedge to go on the green but comes to an immediate hold disting result no out for punin shield who misses the putt as well it’ll end up as a double bogey the first hole of her back nine and we’ll have some work to do to get back to even we a little bit short ball much better than that pugman g in a brilliant position once again to try and go low let’s take a look at it from this perspective as she attacks green little bit of rainb gener the amount of rain we had earlier in the day makes these putting surfaces play so soft and can absolutely encourage these aggressive bits of play for let’s see if ea1 can follow suit it won’t be as close but it is excellent nevertheless the brilliant approaches are made of a difficult conclusion to the hole here the four or five foot goes missed and one last tap is required for f spee got a little bit Frosty cold last 10 to 15 minutes Kim So Yun 2 wraps up another where score is Bogey and to search for a circle on that scorecard last another 15 minutes at least that’s from our Vantage left to right against the role of be witnessed here to straight out out of nowhere and E1 is not going to have her [Applause] birdie and the coach on the part for third standing up that early almost never a good sign here at 10 frustration and surprise is that has also gone missed out of nowhere it will cost her her first bogey of this second round shot that trickles and rolls in on the par three and stops about m to the right of the pin meanwhile is pman G who gets it nice and close again she looks to open up this lead to two and she’s done precisely that a brilliant broch chocks leads to third birdie in the last four holes 11 under now the score from 11 under to the 11th hole that’s where we head next it is 142 M this is the beautiful aerial view a rock wall to the left of the green and three send traps to the same side of the putting surface you can just about draw a straight line from the outside of that first bunker 15 yards up and nine yards from The Fringe that’s where the pin is placed today so Yan has what is seven Pars in a row now still time for 16 position she gets one of the two strokes back and she lost at the last and is within one the cut line now but a long way back in fact it’s 12 Strokes off of Pung G’s score buman G looks on as she plays her t-shirt shot of the par three it’s a helpful little roll to get it started this is going to pick up a fair bit of speed six feet at the most another chance to go low absolutely dialed in right now for sh dropping that in cm5 11 is keep B 3.4 she will be two3 of the way through the round after this putt little left to right break back full loop around the cup before dropping as our fourth of this round tied for 10 now at 500 par wind right in her face it’s well played down and onto the green we can go back to the par three appearing down from our camera stand before the blocks have been on her all week and especially in this run of form these last 45 minutes the attention is very much fixed back on pungin G this sustained level of dominance is unheard of on any tour certainly not on this tour me you will have to wait a moment or two longer hung you mean we’ll go first was hopeful it was always short Jo 13 has a birdie bring her up to three under there’s second and last three holes she goes our leader 5.1 M from the hole it’s a fine line but it kicks out right started to move back online but we’ll just and only just stay out young quietly is having really good second round she’s up to three under it’s her first at the back nine and I Eugene only two slightly above the hole but her alignment isn’t where it needs to be and that will deny her chance to go low get this and it’s long way [Applause] up shine Target very on the horizon for [Applause] was a very possibility but it is thir [Music] the tightest of groupings three absolutely marvelous appro shots we go to the next with our future group N1 driver in her hand at 12 for next up is hung mean struck shot to begin the hole and she will narrowly avoid the rough to the right a little lofted shots and the run from its Landing points a great up maybe shorts of the targets quick re line to execution for coach who stays bogey free four holes to play and three Strokes back me sun seveno just enough on the line to watch that fall her first birdie since hole number sixth her fourth of the day she is tied for 24th now at 300 par knew that the drives were anything but straightforward but the survey is on 31 ball off close to the creek for spee spee search continues after a drawn Drive K that opportunity to go to Six under but is set up the way she needed to be settle forart could have gone back to back to 600 but alas don’t change just a four-footer little left to right speed is key was quick but it was exactly where it needed to be hin sun as her second bur in the last three goes to a Time 38th position with the wind remaining nice and calm SL Dives to the inside gone slightly missed she’ll have to settle for a [Applause] par for so then this is good news for the rest of the field also good news for Coach you goes on the attack and almost ends up on the car path one is finally ready to play what will be officially her third stroke directly into the hazard off the T down the four excuse me 125 is the yardage time to go pin seeking to the front right of the green she goes she does find the right but it’s a little bit deep so that will be the putts and the distance remaining for a bogey for well off into the rough is coach you it’s officially 20 M out you’re on the par five6 step or two inside of the carpath is where she will address the ball ready to go where she plays The Flop shot that does not Escape The Fringe this is B on and Just sh SC that’s Hugman G hour later she’s already ready to go with the next blast the drive right down the middle of the Fairway and well uphill as well [Applause] nice par is the call as the score remains unchanged mean will be the next to drive [Music] able to go well beyond H G’s initial Drive well up into the Fairway un looking and unfortunately failing to save a par and after pin G stalls out slightly at 407 local time a look at the leaderboard and the advantage is two from H aren and her 66 in this second round coach with only three holes to play three back of the leads are projected Cuts here at the celan Queens Masters remains at even from 120 players that began this tournament all in pursuit of a 1.2 billion one perks we’ll have more from Soul 1 after this short break for for for for for for welcome back to the course pman G she’s going pin seeking again hand strike ball much better than that and she is back and dialed in which is great for us it’s probably a little bit disconcerting for the the other 119 players in the field there shin jeene going on the attack and also going to come up with the shots she can think of quite fondly more from our future group there za1 with a brilliant bit of wedge play as well thought they were done we would be mistaken and we are pleasantly mistaken as hungy mean also delivers thing of beauty this is a unplanned trip to the beach and as it rolls closer to that stretch of rough we can see just how well it’s perched up and with that great approach ea1 is unable to capitalize upon it Eugene able to capitalize on what was one of her best shots of the day she goes to tide for fourth at seven under is the next to fail to capitalize on her moment of magic and we are 0 for three pugman G she looked like the best chance at a birdie starts the howl long C up is played second time from this group a little bit too much on the uphill factor of the [Music] equation for let’s move along up as the shallowest of the three and with this brief pause in the action we can take our aerial tour of hole number 15 hold number 14 a 510 M par five with what is very nice to look at those stretches of sand separating the tea ground the hill and the Fairway a pot bunker directly in the center which is 225 M from the te from there a whole lot more sand to clear and for those who are strong and powerful enough to avoid it leads you with anything from 105 M towards the front of the Fairway to 40 m where it Narrows the pin in this second round Saturday here on the 14th is 9 y off the front and exactly in the middle of the width of the green sh she is on the precipice of missing the cuts some shot from the sand C with a little bit of an assist from the breeze at her back the green is reached wedges traded for a putter [Music] next up is a deeper effort that will begin to roll back from in the center of the green off the face of the CL of able to recover for part is three in a row but she only has four holes left to try and get back to even beautiful continues to be in really good space approach game the putter they’re both working well e 14 ea1 274 in uphill as she looks to clear stretch of sand does so just enough pace and power and stops in the f everyone in this group feels like they left a little bit out there on the previous hole and are trying to make up for it on the par five OD Beam on 18 a little right to left effort too much speed and not enough of the line and end up as a par spe provisional wasn’t entirely sure where shot had gone to be greedy because she can with strength and I think there a penalty to be taken to make the sacrifice now this isn’t exactly where she want them to be the flat trajectory can always lead to some of these unintended consequences in terms of how far far it rolls on the Green Eugene just short so at the Midway Mark of her round Bird’s a 12 and 13 bie it’s 17 it’s a 35 the way out coming from initial putt there’s ea1 get up and try and stay as close to the front quarter as you can fairly calm winds she P her test of flying colors spee speee spee speech nearly a whole heck of a lot of trouble just avoids the dreaded red steak was to lay up and more likely be playing a chip with her next for for for you mean also area situation be dire finds the second shot which means proval is unrequired to almost identical location to G 4:33 local time where pman G’s lead of the sultan Queen Masters remains at two on the 14th hole Co through 16 two to go to try and push towards the top hung you mean also in that group five back tied for seventh and with more and more players reaching the ends of their rounds the projected cut line has actually increased to one under so even or below at the moment won’t be enough to see you qualify for tomorrow it is the 12th event of the season on the kpg tour we’ll take a quick reset and be back with more in young young for for for for for for for we are back to the legend course this athlete the legend is almost complete already but this would just be the most recent chapter in an illustrious career trying to find herself a bit of a tricky position though with the second shots that led to she and will have to tap [Applause] in second bogey of the back nine after she was bogy free through the first at the end the line needs to be there but it is by a slight off to the outside e won the last chance for ending the future group will be particularly thrilled with how things went on the part five and supporters reacting positively to a birdie be re to of the final few and still in convincing command of this tournament so approach shot at the last 11 from the Fairway rewarded Ry and her execution oh go hey J Two Shots chance to refuel and offer Gallery as excited it is hot one over here [Music] a most satisfying of sounds the rattle for Kim soyun 2 who goes birdie birdie to end the day tonight for 22nd at 3 under par for deep B of the green and the putts will come next and now that these supporters are adequately hydrated can play her second just before the Rockets of five iron 15 four to go she reaches the green and rolls on down that takes an incredible amount of skill especially with a five iron that can often be one of the more unpredictable clubs in the bag you one follow suit navigating the wind and that as close as Pung n g was able to do this is go to her final hle of the day within 3 25 M short from the rough want get it up and down and trying to keep this left to right all the way through for good approach to about 8 feet away last bits of preparation for ea1 for narly avoiding the bunker to an up that should set up a par there’s a brilliant spot to arrive on the green just on the happy side of the down slope makes the but significantly easier e pman G it is a par two putts as she gets one hole closer to the end of around that should see her comfortably ahead once again go go two maybe three feet shy at the most as that quest for birdie ends with out a thing to celebrate now COI what she hopes will be her final shot of the day but 6 and a half meters makes it anything but straightforward six and a quarter and we’ll have to tap in no mean no small feed excuse me a rather exciting second round go you her only bogey comes on this final hole [Applause] pun Shield her first part since 11 brings her back to even but needs one more in this final stretch to not leave her tournament’s fate up to fate go on and do it herself that’s the hope no hung you mean on the par four left to right and tracking stops moving on towards the Target in the final few meters for Jo on the next to [Applause] reaching a very special approach do three maybe four feet at the most outside of the PIN at nea1 and leaves this hole with a par in her back pocket then the final stretch been near 5:00 P PM local this is kman G on 16 towards the back left of the green with the t- shot yeah one is next we can see the pin placement today towards the center slightly closer to the rear than the front it’s a tough one to get it to fully dig in this is p young she’s electing to putt from The Fringe strike it firm to give herself a chance but it is slightly overhit very wide very open to try and locate 16 is on the opposite side of where she wanted and needed to be two strokes is the advantage for pman G serin who shot a 66 on this Saturday coim G s Shen Eugene they’re all TI for third four back with a projected cut at one under par this is day two moving day Saturday at the selan Queens Masters the fifth edition here in 2024 that’s so one
