there’s um there’s quite a lot of boxing to get excited about yeah got two domestic fights one which is as big as it gets for British Shores these days two genuine a genuine world champion making a genuine defense against a genuine number one Contender two of the top four or I would argue light heavyweight on the planet colliding in a football stadium in the challengers home T this time it’s got underway against Serbia on Sunday but before all that we’ve got boxing sandwiched right in the middle of it all want to quickly start on Friday night because what an opportunity this is uh Bolton the destination uh for mccoi mwan a young man that we spoke about on this show on many occasions uh and he’s getting an opportunity at a European title shot if you remember last time out we biged up a fight that was taking place on channel five actually between abas barow and Sam eggington I think it was a vacant title fight and we were talking about obviously Sam listen he’s done it before he’s become British champion Commonwealth European can he do it again well he fell short that night he fell short to a really really good opponent inas who kind of announced himself to that British audience a lot of people on the on the hardcore scene knew a little bit about him but then that night you thought to yourself yeah this kid’s really good he can crack a bit and he’s a fantastic boxer um and now MCO mcgaan is the next guy to step in the ring with him come Friday night massive opportunity for McCauley you know that we’re huge huge fans of McCauley McGowan but this is a massive massive step up for him it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to really punch his ticket and Achieve something incredibly major in the world of boxing by becoming the European Champion H but he’s up against a real tough cookie who proved that last time out against Sam eggington man yeah and I really like Sam eggington as well he really is the man for the big occasion and you know if Sam Egan can can’t get it done I really do fear from call him Awan but you know what opportunity knocks man this is for me this has absolutely come out of the blue he’s been mixing with all due respect to McCauley mcgaan and his previous opponents or most recent opponents he’s been nowhere near this level but you know what if an opportunity comes your way you take it with both hands man and I reckon you’ll have good support down there we’ve both been inside that Dwight’s hotel in Bolton you know it’s a it’s a mad little venue but it’s got It’s steeped in British boxing history from the last few years I’ve seen some absolute bels in there and uh if that place is rocking if mwan picks packs that place out you know what you never know you never know it might just be as night but I’d be more confident if I hadn’t just seen Barra up close and personal do a bit of a number on sag Sam egson I’ve got to be honest yeah listen all the numbers connected to this fight kind of work against mull McAn hopefully he’s not watching or listening pre- fight just forget what I’m about to say if if it if it is mcau that’s taking in this information but for everybody else he’s never won over eight rounds all of his major wins McCauley have come in four rounders and six rounders he’s won a couple of eight rounders he’s drawn a couple of eight rounders but anything over every time he goes to 10 rounds for short and obviously this is the first time that he’s going to be asked as a scheduled 12 round it might not go 12 rounds but it’s it’s scheduled for 12 rounds yeah the the the big things in his favor are this this is his weight he’s been been up and down he’s been obviously looking for work hasn’t he he’s just been having to take opportunities as and whenn as McCauley so this is his weight this is where he wants to be and in his gym at the moment he’s working alongside Jack Massie Jack massie’s in the exact same position this weekend is him getting an out ofthe blue chance at a European title shot now I’ll talk about Jack in a minute but if you’re working alongside someone like that that iron sharpens a little bit of iron doesn’t it you SP each other on exactly that team mentality we’ve seen what that’s done for boxers recently you just never know yeah I agree everybody coming at me saying come on man this is this is maybe a bridge too far for him yeah on paper it is I’ll be I’ll admit on paper it is but everything just might have fallen into place timing is a wonderful thing in sport you just never know mate and he’ll throw the kitchen sink at this on on Friday night and we wish him all the best yeah listen is the main event it’s live on celestrial TV you know it’s the stuff dreams are made of and it’s a European title it’s a legit actual title is man he’s facing a legit Champion an established Champion but you never know get down here if you can get down to Bolton get down there Friday night he’s going to need every bit of support he can get and I will personally be screaming and cheating for him from the sidelines hopefully it’s after Scotland do a number on Germany will you stop going on about that let it go you’re just winding people up for the sake of winding people up aren’t you um onto the big British domestic Clash this weekend and it’s Chris bam Smith versus Richard rior obviously this is a a rematch first one took place in 2019 Richard reator came through on a split decision uh on that occasion no major trinkets on the line I think it was an international title but nothing major on the line um 10 rounder like yeah 10 rounder uh since then Chris bam Smith’s had 10 fights 10 wins uh Rich RP had seven he had two years out if you remember off the back of this he went he had one more fight became British champion and then he had two years out it was bit all over the place and then he’s come back and he uh he looked brand spanking new I am not putting too much stock I don’t know where you’re at I’m not putting too much stock in that first fight it’s kind of gone and Irrelevant for the way that I’m looking at this particular KN because so both guys I think have grown quite a lot since that first one and they’ve proven to me that they are completely different now than where they were in 2019 so I’m not looking too much at that I’m looking at where they’re at right now and I think we could be in for an absolute belter yeah because all the question marks have got about Richard rako kind of fall away when you realize that he’s the home fighter it’s at Crystal Palace it’s his neck of the woods so you you’re you’re always going to get the extra 5 10% there and you’re always going to get that desire my my question question marks about riak por is does the power carry late can he win over 12 rounds I think he’s only ever won over 12 rounds once before against Jack Massie funly enough on the undercard it was a close decision he dropped Massie on a round 10 I think it was of 12 and on two the judges score cards that’s what swung it in favor of riak PA but again that was so long ago now that was right after the the billam Smith fight and since then he’s had six more wins allbe it against the certain level of opposition because when you look at those 10 wins against seven wins since you’ve got to say that react PA has very much gone down there international routs yeah non-title routs well let’s be honest the handpicked opponent route to I’m not saying he went off a certain level but to get him to this point where as you look at Chris vam Smith he’s done the one thing on this show that we like that’s out that’s the way to do it he lost the British title fight to react Paul he bounced back won the conwal title won the British title then he won the European title and obviously last year he goes and wins a world title he’s ticked every box along the way while ri’s going out there smoking fellas put adding more Knockouts to his record I would argue Chris bam Smith has gone right I lost had a fight to be the best of Britain lost I’ll be back gonna win the Commonwealth belt gonna win the British belt okay gonna win the EUR gonna win the European belt right now you’re all saying I’m overachieving get me a world title fight he doesn’t want to fight lwen a COI I’ll fight lwen AI Rea PA was there if you remember in Bournemouth ringside watching that fight waiting to be set up afterwards to fight a COI in an all London battle and Chris Bill and Smith goes and drops that game plan that perfect game plan to be the first person to beat AI the first person to drop AI three times on route to Victory I don’t think there’s any conversation any comparison in terms of who’s had the better work in the last five years by some distance it’s Chris Willam Smith and I like the team up that he has with with SH mgan it’s working isn’t it everything that they’re putting together just see just seems to be uh everything they touching should I say right now just seems to be turned into gold and the attitud you’ve just mentioned the attitude aspect of of what he’s done there since the defe he’s gone on this what we class as a traditional road but just the attitude of beating a coli right beat AI in a stadium that’s your grounding moment well done you’ve you’ve got the you’ve got the moment you’re now the champion brilliant first defense against Master night that told me everything I need to know about this land because how many people are going I want to be active I want to get out I wanna I want to keep fighting but let’s just have a nice one just before Christmas let’s have a nice one yeah nice little coming home party and look honestly I’ve been lucky enough to been to a couple of Chris bam Smith fights in Bournemouth and the place is bouncing he is creating a real Buzz in Bournemouth he really really is so he could have been forgiven and most people would have forgiven him you’ve just beaten a colei go just go and have a nice little take over it he took on masterack mate you know what I mean and I’m like that’s a risky one and it proved to be risky because look at what happened in the first five rounds I’m thinking oh my God he’s gonna lose his title here because he’s getting pinged all over the Gaff but he’s got a massive set of stones he believes in himself he and and when you when you’ve got that dog winners find a way when you become Champion there’s a new thing in that your chest Puffs out a little bit more you start to believe yourself a little bit more billum Smith I think in that mastern fight kind of Prov even more than he did in the aoli fight that he’s the real deal You’ got to do something really really special to get rid of this fella the the the concern I’ve got for him coming into this is that he’s hitable masterack proved that he’s very hitable riak po hits very hard and if you look at the I know that I’m not putting too much stock in that first fight but he did take a count in that first fight react Pao fancy getting to him these first four rounds I think are massive billan Smith Texs it in the first four rounds you could have an un you could have a a genuine Classic on your hands by the time we get to the middle stages of the fight oh 100% 100% I’m I’m going to keep going I just want to read some of these messages because I’m chuckling away Toby says I wonder how much M’s out of Rich react he doesn’t want to come out like a virin LOL to which Lyndon BS replied touched for the very first time it’s nice thread down here this is amazing inside the comments section which is all pretty good um yeah listen I’ll come back to Rea PA a second but you’re right let’s talk about the champion let talk about the development let’s talk about what becoming a world champion does to your confidence you know because he has been a Serial Underdog Chris bam Smith you know he was the guy in the gym that was you know understudy to alen COI he was the guy that came into the gym we’ve all seen the the stable documentary on the BBC now which is Mega where he comes in and it’s kind of like oh yeah Chris like B never begged to join the gym but came up from Bournemouth we didn’t really know too much about him and it’s not like they went out and H you know handpicked them or whatever but his work and his commitment and that loyalty to Shane he’s now become the glue in that Jim he’s like the captain of that gym now not necessarily originally on talent but on hard work determination on getting here so jording that Journey with with Shane mguig and Chris pH Smith has developed into a truly world class fighter and maybe I don’t even think Chris bam Smith when he first walked into the gym believed he could get to that point certainly the mcguan didn’t believe he could get to that points but he’s here because he’s a sponge he does the work and he deserves everything he’s got he’s tied everything off along the way so now he is here now he is a world champion yes he did come through a tricky moment against Master a and there’s takeaways from that as well but I just think that where he is right now he’s got he’s got to that level now where his the development is clear for all to see the confidence he will take from having that world title belt around his R is the confidence that you get a guy going I don’t need Bournemouth bro wants it in his own backyard he wants it at Crystal Palace football stadium the champion will go to your backyard son that’s the mentality change and I think Chris bam Smith truly believes going into this fight I’ve def I’ve come on way more than you have in the last five years my whole thing with Richard RPO is he’s got the confidence of a previous win over billam Smith he’s also got the confidence that he’s put bam Smith over now that’s nothing new for Richard rako because when you look at Richard Rak Paul’s career in his fights what’s he had 20 17 fights except his Pro debut the following 16 fights he’s either put the opponents over or he’s stopped them everybody gets put over by RI Paul everybody and Chris B Smith needs to believe that but riak Paul comes in into this going right I’m basically the champion and waiting I’ve got the home support and I know you start slow he always billam Smith always start slow and I think that’s something Shane needs to look at in the changing rooms do not give riak PA three rounds you can give L coli the first three or four rounds because you know him you know how he fights you’ve got a game plan that’s perfect you all worked with him before you know how to counter that unusual unorthodox punch and grab style that he’s got and that’s what he did against masterack started slow lost the face five rounds masterack back end of his career starts to Tire starts to look for a way out billam Smith runs over him riak Paul hasn’t isn’t got that weather he hasn’t got those miles on the clock you give this kid the first three rounds and riul gets that Rak Paul swag that [ __ ] madonas on the arm and [ __ ] modeling for Gucci and all that is all me boys you know [ __ ] storms orever it’s like everyone’s there whoa It’s the Rea PA show you’re [ __ ] then because that means you’re going to have to try and break that by go and go go and if you go and go against Richard RPA he’ll put your lights out so I think billam Smith for me he cannot start slow they’ve got to start him quickly I do fear for listen I love bam Smith the attitude everything about him absolutely Hae Stella over the last couple years and everything that we should celebrate in British boxing I just think he’s too hitable with this fell this guy cracks really really hard and as you just said he puts everybody down at some point in the fight it’s gonna be like you say it’s going to be interesting to see how the fight starts I think if Chris bam Smith can weather four rounds against Richard rior who’s at home everybody’s going to be singing his Praises he’s he’s fighting at Crystal Palace challenging for a world title it’s written for him man it’s written if he can weather four rounds there and and and not have touched the canvas then we could be in for an absolute classic mid midsection yeah yeah I think at some point billam Smith’s going over but at some point I think riak Paul goes over as well do you I really do yeah I think Chris bam Smith I think he will he will at some point he will hit with riak Paul with a bage and riak Paul is going to either have to take a KN or I just think honestly I I know we say this whenever there’s a great fight whenever there’s a good 50/50 Whenever there something to get excited about obviously in your mind you start playing that was a fight of the Year Contender I just think because these two know each other because they know what’s on the line because of the environment that it’s in because Chris Bill and Smith won’t want to take a backward step and give riak par an inch on home T because of all these superlatives involved this Legacy def you know you beat this Rich RPA beats him again mate that’s like beating aoli as well a it that’s like going well I’m the [ __ ] I’m the guy I’m the best Cruiserweight in this planet I beat this guy twice and he beat that guy so my legacy is assured whereas billam Smith know is he can’t afford to do that he can eradicate the first fight with a big performance against Richard rport and then suddenly he’s in the stratosphere of going right where are we now J OPP attire that was his rhetoric earlier this week I’ll fight jyre Richard RPO didn’t want to fight JRE but I will obviously R Paul counters that by saying n man I was got all these arguments there’s a lot on the line here and the World title belt is almost like secondary to Legacy bragen rights if you like of who’s the best Cru AWA in Britain today we find out on Saturday night uh We’ve also got Isaac Chamberlain and Jack Massie going at it European title on the line vacant this time obviously Jack Mass’s coming in as a replacement opponent for uh Mikel sylac um listen I thought that it was a major step up for Isaac Chamberlin the first time around against his like obviously vacated his British title we all know the story about this You’ if if anybody’s paid any attention to anything that goes on on YouTube and these various channels that like to stir the pot a little bit and stick a microphone in promoters faces you’ve all seen various people reacting to Siobhan Clark and Isaac Chamberlain persits being called or or the British boxing Board of contol ordering that fight for the British title and then Isaac chamberling goes in the direction of the European title listen let’s cut this straight right what what if you get the opportunity to fight for a European title you take the opportunity to fight for a European title doesn’t matter if you’re the British champion right now doesn’t matter if somebody’s chomping at your heels doesn’t matter if a fight has been ordered as you as champion and as’s a mandated Challenger if you are the guy that is next in line to fight for the European title you shoot upwards you don’t shoot downwards not at this stage of his career anyway you shoot upwards so nobody should have any problem whatsoever in Isaac chamberling going going for the European title man now be in mind he’s gone for the European title previously and he’s fallen short this is a massive night for Isaac Chamberlain this is it now yeah there’s been lots of questions over where where he’s at obviously we all know about that a coli fight which stunk the Gaff out and he took a massive Bight lash off that he’s been Tre like [ __ ] a little bit as Isaac Chamberlin in the world of boxing and now he’s got himself on the horse British Commonwealth Champion yeah uh we had great performance last timeout and now he’s got the opportunity to shoot for the stars and become the European Champion I actually thought sizl was a tough fight mass is even tougher and the reason why I think Massi is even tougher is because it’s a British domestic fight it’s always going to be it’s always going to have that little bit of something and Massi he’s also been one of the those guys that has not been treated the nicest he’s had to graft he’s had to go the hard route in order to try and get an opportunity well you’re here now pal there’s your opportunity you’re on Sky Sports at the weekend and you’re fighting for a European title go and get it listen man this is a this is an unbelievable fight you look at The Bookies odds most people people are looking at Isaac Chamberlain well it should be him shouldn’t it don’t Edge your bets here man because Jack Massie is gonna throw the kitchen in sink at this and I would not be surprised whatsoever if Jack Mass’s Crown European T European champion at the end of this yeah I fancy Jack Massi I really do I really do I think if you look at Jack massie’s record yes he’s got two defeats on there but I was ringside for his last defeat and he gave Joe Parker some good work and be be in mind that was you know was on the Liam Smith Chris Eubank junr undercard Joe Parker who right now is in the form of his heavyweight career okay it was a bit of a mark and time fight and maybe we got Joe Parker in in fourth gear rather than fifth gear but Jack Massie handled himself brilliantly that night and he took some rounds off Joe Parker and again that was that was high-profile work for him and I said that night remember coming on this show saying Jack Massie really impressed me okay he lost the fight up a heavyweight but he ain’t a heavyweight and it’s fine and he will live The Experience he got to fight in Manchester Arena against the former World Heavyweight Champion he will be better from this and since then obviously he’s come back he’s had another win as well the only other Ross on his record was a few years ago to rako and I’ve just said he lost to rako two he lost on a points decision two of those points decisions were on the fact that Massie got dropped in the 10th had he not been dropped in the 10th he could have you could argue he could have won that fight I think would have been two draws so it would have been a majority draw anyway so he’s been at that solid level you look at Chamberlain you mentioned there he’s fell short against the COI he’s also fell short against Chris bam Smith Chris bam Smith boxed The Zed off for largely for those rounds I think he won that round you know 8 to 8 to4 or 75 whatever it was and Chamberlin wasn’t couldn’t really make an inroads in that fight whereas I think Massie for me has still got way more to prove I think Chamberlain will be going into this thinking this is my European title this is a strategic move pick up this European belt and Jack Massie is coming in under the radar I think he’s a great fight I think it’s a fantastic fight I actually think as a a domestic card and listen it’s an odd one that it’s in a football stadium I don’t know what the tickets are at the moment I don’t know what they’ve done it it feels a little bit odd that they’re doing it in a football stadium um but you look at the main event fantastic Co man event fantastic as well H and you’ve actually got a proper fight for Ben I on here as well because the kid that he’s in against called him out has chased him down and wants to try and take his head off which I think he’s absolutely fantastic Ben Whitaker needs that if Ben Whitaker is going to get to the levels that we all think he can get to he needs these types of things to be able to to go and shine in EZ Erin is the guy that’s going to be standing across from him come Saturday night anybody that’s listened to the show on a regular basis knows that I’m massive fan of Ben Whitaker I’m all in on the show boting I’m all I’m s with because I think he needs to do it in order to try and open some of these guys up embarrass him a little bit you might not like it but we’re here it’s the entertainment business man the kids in the entertainment business he knows what he’s doing he’s a fantastic Talent he won a silver medal at the Olympic Games for crying out loud so you know that he can he can box I’m looking forward to seeing what he does with this guy at the weekend because there’s some real nastiness here this guy wants to take his head off he wants his shine and I have nothing but respect for Ezra Erin for chasing this down this is what you do mate so go on you’ve got it now you bit it off can you chew it let’s see what happens on Saturday night yeah listen the kids undefeated in 12 fights and he’s as well so he’s got he’s got absolutely nothing to lose um obviously I think Blen whisker’s a CL Class Act but I also think last time out the worst thing for Aaron Yer for me happened last time out whereas was it willings got in there and made a fight of it and start Ed and didn’t fall for the traps and actually when Ben witzer started to try and lay traps or put his hands down do a bit of show button willings through willings gambled and willings through when Ben witka was out here throwing Hooks and you know being all cool and entertaining everyone willings had throw a shot down the middle and Ben wit’s G to get his headrock back I think for someone like Aaron Yer who has obviously got a lot of wins and got a lot of power that was the worst thing that could have happened for you because I think Whit goes away sit down with his team goes right okay we jumped a level here we didn’t expect willing to come up a level but he asked a few questions so in our next assignment this is what we’re going to do and I think I’ll just I the show button will still be there but the risk taken will be more of a minimal and I think what I want to see from Ben witker is a more sh because I think with Ben there’s been no there’s been no rush it’s been get in there this is scheduled for six I’ll give you a money’s way for two or three rounds then I’ll put me foot down I’d like to see him go in here and run this kid over because we talk you know he gets compared to NZ all the time with the show boting go and have a look man Nas did the showb and yeah but NZ also Flatline [ __ ] would people put people out in the it’s good fun it’s good fun H but like you say I want to see some spiteful Ben Whitaker and then we’ve got two great fights Coen and Main Event which uh I’m really really looking forward to uh this is super box take yes of course we are we are going to talk about it we’ll talk about it at the end of the show after we’ve previewed all the fights that are coming up this weekend so we’ve uh had a look at Friday night in Bolton where mcau McGowan’s having a go at the European title we spoke about everything that’s going on at s’s Park but over in the states there’s a bit going on as well do you want to start with the tank shall we start with Javon Davis uh who’s taking on Frank Martin both men undefeated gavon through n 29 fights obviously Frank Martin uh through 18 fights as this fight has got closer I’ve got a little bit more interested in it if you remember when it was originally announced it was off the back of I think Javon I can’t remember who he called out he called out someone decent some a big name like a unification or something going down that route and I we getting dead excited thinking whoa we’re GNA get that one next are we because it seems to be moving in this lightweight Division and S and as you go a little bit further up in the super lightweight Division and kind of Devin Haney started that off didn’t he by chasing down a few people and making certain things happen T Fimo has done a very similar thing as well and we’ve got jvon versus Ryan Garcia so everything was poting in the right direction of some big monster fights but name value this probably isn’t the one but stylistically Frank Martin could ask a few questions of of Javon Davis I say that Loosely because gavon Davis is a sensational fighter a sensational fighter yes the output is low you only need one and he and he’s got he’s got the all the tool box to deliver it from whatever bloody angle he wants to deliver it from he’s a he’s a he’s like a cage tiger in he just prowling having a look getting in range defending defending jab jab okay I’ll come back next round you’re not ready yet you’re not ready yet and then when you’re ready he very rarely misses doesn’t he he’s just he he’s an Elite Sniper jonto Davis and I can only see him doing Elite Sniper things once again this weekend yeah listen I really like Frank Martin I think he’s a really nice boxer you know he’s got good amateur experience C A won the Golden Gloves a couple of times in America got wins over the legs of Virgil orties and people like that and as a pro he’s not really put a foot wrong um the problem is in the Pro ranks he had 16 fights he’s or 18 fight sorry he’s not gotten near to World title level until now and he’s 29 years of age you if he’s if he’s got that much talent why has someone not backed him sooner why has not been pushed forward sooner and that’s my conern with him you know he’s got decent power you know he’s got a 60% knockout rate or whatever it is 16 of his eight 12 of his 18 and Knockouts and he can box and he’s obviously got the height height advantage over Javon and everything else but javant Davis is a very special fighter a very special Fighter um and some of the wins that he’s got on his record certainly you know Amplified that the Ryan Garcia win now as aging like a fine wine the the Isaac Cruz performance the BOS performance the Santa Cruz finish Jesus Christ one of the best finishers in modern day box and that of Leo Santa Cruz I know Santa Cruz was coming up in the weight divisions below but javante could be one of the best fighters pound-for-pound on the planet the problem with javant is the way he’s managed he seems to duck over here for this title duck back over here to this weight division for this guy duck back over here you know if he was just in a straight line looking to do what full credit someone like a Devon Haney has tried to do clear out weight divisions move on move on I think it’d be so much easier as a barometer to measure just how good javant Davis is but listen he might be a prick out side of the ring but inside of it he’s he’s money and he’s he’s a he’s box office every day of the week he sells out Arenas all across America he does big pay-per-view numbers he’s a superstar and I expect him to do Superstar things this weekend against Frank Martin as well he’s doing it out of a weight out of weight division as well isn’t he very similar to what vasel lomachenko is doing he’s not a lightweight with all due respect did youon Davis no it’s a super feather having a little go in at 135 five just because it’s comfortable and relatively easy for him and the super fights there don’t get me wrong we all want to see we’d love to see gavon Davis and Shakur Stevenson would we we’d all love to see that we’d all love to see the other big 135 fights that that are in and around I would love to see javante Davis and vasel lomachenko yeah that that’s what I would absolutely love to see um or share Stevenson yeah that’s what you said um listen um like I said at this this weekend I I thoroughly anticipate he’ll come through it’ll be a slow start he’ll have a little bit of a look and then by them those middle rounds he’ll start to get into his Groove and do his thing and I would imagine that he would stop Frank Martin at mid to late um it’s going to be interesting to see how David Benz takes to light heavyweight I think he’ll take it to to it like a duct to water he’s a big old boy isn’t he uh but up at light heavyweight now after the Canelo train seems to be riding off into a different direction which is extremely frustrating for every single boxing fan we all wanted to see that but he’s taking on vodic this weekend in the light heavyweight Division I think they’ve put some [ __ ] interim title on it or they thrown Summit AT it even though we’ve got like heavyweight champions we know who they are but we’ve got to have some more belts aren’t we let’s Chuck some more stuff on it um but yeah I’m looking forward to seeing I love watching deid Benz fight because he’s not just a big unit that cracks he’s got Good Feet he’s got good range he’s good boxer and I’m gutted for him that he never it doesn’t look like he’s GNA get that Sal Canelo Alvarez fight no no and that’s again hopefully something that’s we’re going to see the back of things like that in the future once Uncle turkey super Fight League really kicks off and gets going more on that shortly um because yeah you’re right you know that that’s the fight we wanted to see obviously Canelo now is no doubt looking down rather than looking up or looking on par which is a shame but I think Ben Bez has got more than more than enough ability to win a title up at this weight class especially with the two best in this weight division at light heavyweight on a collision course and then more than likely at least one of them going to ride off into the sunset and retire in the aftermath I think uh go it’s probably positioning himself to probably take on the winner there and leap ahead of the catalog of British light heavyweights because of the name that he’s got gonk again is a good name former world champion a guy that’s you know only lost against the very best he’s got good wins over the likes of Adonna Stevenson and Isaac chalm who’s a world title Contender and then of course he lost to betev since then he’s had a couple of wins couple of Knockouts my problem with gavic is after he lost to betev he walked away for a few years and since then the wins that he has done have been on a certain level of opposition so uh I think it’s oner it looks G vodik 20 and one former Champion only lost to betev but in in fact when you delve a little bit deeper the couple of fights he’s had since his comeback have not been anywhere near this level so it’s a little bit of a set up for Benz to be honest yeah also on this car Kos adamez um listen don’t slip up man he’s the he’s one of the Champions at 160 and when I say don’t slip up there’s an opportunity for caros adamus to get in on that Riad season September Wembley C which is being hotly rumored I was speaking at length last week to hamash shiras we’re high as a kite on Hamza shiras um he’s he’s all guns blazing for Chris Eubank Jr I think every single fight fan would actually like to see Ham airas versus Chris Eubank Jr I’m sure it will make everybody a few quid uh and it will put some bums on seats in Wembley H should they should they put that on that particular card but if Chris hubank Jr isn’t available or isn’t up for that particular fight ham shiras did Point towards fighting for a world title on that and with him being the top ranked boy at with the w BC caros adamis would be next up so that would be that would be the angle that he would like caros adamus versus Hamas shira’s World title fight September I’m all in on that I’d absolutely love to see it um so don’t slip up this weekend Carlos don’t lose that title my man I think it’s a pretty straightforward fight for him I’m gonna be dead honest it’s it’s a bit of a tick over but he comes through this uh without any major damage we’ll hopefully see him SE taking on HS of sheir yeah for a world fight on British so that should be absolutely tremendous uh so that’s going on in Las Vegas uh and then maybe um the best man in the super lightweight division everybody talks about the other guys don’t they they talk about the big names but recently this Fell’s just aligned himself with matchroom and I think his star is going to rise a little bit now because Eddie hearn’s going to give him the full push we’ve been saying for a bit that subriel Maas could be the Boogyman of the division he’s in action this weekend it’s a great fight as well against Liam parro I’ll be dead honest with you on on the parro train because of his Ina I think it’s because of his inactivity that I’m going to say this right and I know that he’s had a few troubles outside of the ring and getting the fights and injuries and all this type of stuff but because of his inactivity I I feel a little bit underwhelmed by him at the moment even though you actually look at the resume you think okay there’s no major names there but you’re fighting winning Lads you fight with proper records and every time he every time he steps in there you go bloody hell you look good mate you look good I’m excited and then I don’t see you for 12 months so you kind of forget it don’t you and then he comes back and you go oh right yeah yeah I remember ah right yeah yeah yeah sound and I’m at that stage with him so when I saw this fight matched subriel Matias against Liam parro automatically in my head I’m thinking well Matias is an absolute Beast I’m seeing a lot of him at the moment he’s doing wonderful things he can box he can bang 20 Knockouts to through 20 wins come on man what’s not to love about that but when I recalibrate and actually think back to some of the parro performances par come box a bit man this is a great fight it’s a really really good fight this weekend yeah and if you look at subil matias’s defeat okay he Avenged the defeat with the stoppage obviously 20 fights 20 stoppages one defeat but he did get outboxed no doubt he will look at that and go listen I had a [ __ ] off night that night which is why I went back Revisited that opponent battered them I think he won every round before before he stopped him he made the statement but still he did he did he can be outboxed he was outboxed that night if it can happen once it can absolutely happen again and okay Liam po you’re right the inactivity was supposed to fight Robbie Davis in Liverpool that fight fell through when he got injured that’s one of many fights that have fallen through he’s had just two in the last two years but the the Brock Jarvis fight that was a big deal that was a big fight down under if you remember that was like a a real which one of these Aussie prospects is going to go on and challenge for World Hors on a global stage loads of people fany Brock Jarvis he had that whole momentum behind him if you remember and he gets in there and he was brilliant that night done a number on Brock Jarvis absolutely smoked him in the first round the biggest statements you could possibly make then he makes his us debut goes in against Montana love okay Montana loves coming off the face loss of his career but still the American Media are still like Montana love oh this Aussie guy sound Montana love gets back on track going to fight for blah blah blah and he goes over there and he does a does a number on Montana love as well uh stopped them on his feet that shows he’s got power Liam po so he can box he’s got power he’s used to big fight he will need to be used to big fights going over to Puerto Rico to take on Matias who’s the new Puerto Rican poster boy so there’s going to be a lot of pressure on him but that means there’s also a ton of pressure on Matias and Matias comes out he’s the new guy is he everyone oh he’s the new he’s here he’s that is he the best super lightwe on the planet yeah yeah okay routin defense on home T part of Puerto Rican celebrations for your anniversary or whatever it is this week oh yeah yeah yeah it it reminds me a bit of Josh Taylor versus Jack cell one Liam Po’s name will not be on the ticket his face will not be on the poster this is the Matias show but with the right set of judges he can go over there and he could get a win here and send a real shock wave through this weight through this super lightweight weight division par he is not a massive Outsider I’m telling you it’s a good fight yeah it’s a very good fight he needs to start quick I think parro he needs to get he needs to get into his rhythm nice and early doesn’t he he needs to get going early doors and get the respect of Matias because what Matias has been doing he’s just been he’s been feeling what everybody’s throwing at him he’s going nah just walking straight straight into the fire and knocking dudes out like I said 20 stoppages and 20 wins is is pretty phenomenal at super lightweight very very phenomenal um fight the weekend that one or are you still edging towards the main events at CS Park yeah listen I think on a global scale that might resonate with a lot more people because Maas is getting a lot of smoke over in the US of course and it is as to say a big a big anniversary Reco end in Puerto Rico so I think it’ll do good numbers um but for me personally I still think there’s something about sexy drummed up World title British title fights because that’s what it is it’s a British title fight that just happens to be a world title on the line and I just think RI Paul billam Smith did know enough about each other to go right this is going to come down to who wants it most and we’re gonna find out I think that’s for me that’s the fight of the weekend get it all up son yeah looking good um plenty of boxing from Friday and Saturday uh for you to enjoy um should we talk about the story that you want to talk about Uncle turkey super Fight League Uncle turkey super Fight League Uncle turkey super Fight League yeah he’s not gonna do the jingle met he’s not gonna have a jingle M just because you keep singing it he is you list listen we put it out on our uh social media there was a report that came out yesterday from Reuters um and there’s reports coming out of the Middle East uh that the Saudi Arabian public investment fund are looking to create in some somewhere shape or form this is not the exact wording so don’t quote me on it but it’s along the lines of a super Fight League um and conversations have already started taking place between uh Saudi Arabia and the investment fund headed up by turkey Alek as Nick is just alluding to there and conversations with major uh promotional outfits in the world as you read it as you’ve interpreted as you have you took all the information in what’s your understanding the plan I believe is to try and implement this if the reports are correct by 2025 so we might be 12 months away from it all right but what do you read what are you taking in and how do you think this is going to play from what I’ve taken away from the reuter uh article um was exactly what we have been banging the drum for on this show for an awful long time and that’s pure and simply bin the belts to get rid of the four government bodies in this sport which are leeches on the sport that do nothing but take money from the table of the fighters and I think the uh the Saudi Investment fund have realized that okay we are putting all this money in and who is benefiting the fighters absolutely fantastic the fighters promoters okay yeah without them there is no show so of course who else is making money right these guys over here why are they involved who needs them all they do is cause problems all they do is make it political all they do is stop fights from happening so imagine if we could [ __ ] them off forever and reshape boxing and in my mind the way I read the Reuters article was Uncle take super Fight League of which it will be named until we come up with with they release it an official title for me it’s like I’m going right I’m going to get the 50 best fighters in every weight division I’m going to pay you more money than anywhere else you can still be with Eddie at matchroom you can still be with Frank at Queensbury you can still be with Oscar at Golden Boy if you so desire but you fight under our umbrella only can like live golf look at the way they’ve done it live golf he went out there right who’s the Masters champion how much you want yeah we’ll sign you on a deal how much you yeah we’ll sign you you go around sign all the best fighters in the world they’ve already got Terence Crawford an new Way’s on his way you’ve already got usyk you’ve already got basically everything body in the heavyweight division they’re just going to filter that down throughout the divisions and it will get to a point where if you are a heavyweight like it is now and you want to be respected as the best heavyweight in the world and walk down the street and people say wow that guy’s heavyweight champion of the world there’s only one way you can do that right now and that’s by fighting in or for Saudi Arabia that’s the only way you can be recognized the heavyweight champion of the world and I believe that’s going to filter down through every weight Division and yes yes you’ll still get domestic boxing yes you’ll still get shows in Las Vegas and shows in New York there but unless they are under the Saudi Banner unless they’re under Uncle Takei super Fight League Banner it will be on the outside of the best of the best now let’s reference the UFC there’s other MMA that goes on there’s other promotions around the world but nobody looks at the winner than those guys and goes wow that guy’s the lightweight champion of the world because everybody knows the actual best lightweights on the planet they all fight for the UFC and I think that’s what Uncle take is trying to make happen in the sportal box and I love it I’m a big fan of it hash binder belt Uncle turkey yeah is that how you kind of broke it down yeah I kind of look at it that he’s trying to create if if the report is true he’s trying to create the UFC model now what is the UFC model because boxing fans might not necessarily follow too much UFC so what is it there is room obviously for other boxing to exist outside of this umbrella that you’ve just been referring to right but Fighters can only fight underneath One Umbrella the the what what I think he’s go what I think is going to happen or or maybe what’s the best way of phrasing this what I think should happen because anybody that has been with fight disciples for the last eight years you know that we’ve been speaking extensively about reforming boxing boxing’s broken it needs massive reform yeah there’s too many belts as we all know in my opinion there’s too many weight categories that needs to change as well yeah everything needs to be slimed down it needs to be easy to understand to the Casual fan right now there’s people watching our podcast right and this is a live podcast and I would guess that the people that are watching this podcast are hardcore fans of boxing you know the in intricacies you know that the struggles that the politics of this sport you know the sanctioning bodies you know the promoter you know everything about the game and what can and can’t happen right or traditionally can and can’t happen forget all that now forget because none of that exists anymore these guys Saudi Arabia public investment fund headed up by turkey alake have got a bottomless pit of cash bottomless and therefore they can genuinely revolutionize the game to the point that we’ve been speaking about for the last eight years and the fact and the to the point where the majority of fans are already on board you know what you want you’ve kind of concluded in your head that it’ll never happen because there’s too many pieces of the puzzle well all those pieces of the puzzle now can get blown out the water if you think about it if Turkey alet comes along and he goes to Queensbury he goes to match room he goes to top rank he goes to Golden Boy and let’s say PBC the five main players and that’s no disrespect to a boxer but those five main players in World Boxing are probably the big five players aren’t they when it comes to promotion and he goes to them he says right Lads I am creating a new let’s call it a sanctioning body a new sanctioning body right and it’s going to have its own ranking system within that what those promoters then kind of become are managers to those fighters in order to put those Fighters within that sanctioning body they can still manage fighters of course that are going to be competing for WBC competing for ibf competing for WBO competing for WBA but those Fighters that compete under those alphabets don’t compete over here yeah because he wants the best of the best so the best guys come over to his sanctioning body they relinquish all the titles all their titles go get vacated clear them off bang they’re now worthless this this is how you kind of get rid of or or quieten down all the alphabet nonsense in the belts you create your own sanctioning body you reduce the amount of weight divisions and you have one Champion per division you have your own ranking system there’ll be people asking questions here about drug testing and various things like that within the UFC you create your own you create an independent drug testing arm like the UFC have done and okay when it started there were teething problems of course there struggles UFC is only 30 years into its Journey but right now everybody will conclude that the premier sport Premier Combat Sports brand on the planet right now is the UFC yeah from every every aspect of it from a production aspect to matchmaking aspect to drug testing ass everything about it is the Premier if boxing wants to get back to that level and and to be that thing and it can be if you’ve got enough door to do it that’s the model to emulate and if he’s doing that if that’s his plan if that’s what he wants to do and he can get people on board to do it because of the amount of door that he has I am all for it manate all for it because we could then be at a stage of once a month let’s not get greedy with it right once a month we could be sat here previewing cards like we experienced in 5v5 but they would also have the BET and bivel on top of the tree you know what I mean one of them a month imagine 12 of them a year like the UFC do 12 of them for boxing fans doesn’t matter where it is in the world I can’t give a [ __ ] where it is in the world right the majority of the UFC stuff takes place in America I don’t go to every show can’t afford to go to every show but I watch every show because I’m addicted to it now imagine if if they old take place in Saudi Arabia sound whatever I’m not bothered I just want the mole to take place now if he can create that M that’s how you change the game that’s changing the game that is changing the game of course it is you know and I think the importance behind streamlining boxing to make it the sport that it could ABS absolutely be where the best do consistently fight the best where you’re part of a super Fight League where okay you go in there and maybe you do Clan to the top of the heavyweight tree and you get to fight usk and you lose against usk well then your next fight isn’t [ __ ] Mark deori your next fight is Parker yeah or a [ __ ] Jil Jang yeah this is the consistency we stay at and then we either do like a I don’t americanize it by saying we have a relegation system but basically if you’re still one of the best on the planet this is where you exist this is where you make your money and when you start sliding down those just like the UFC when you start sliding down those rankings then you have a decision to make either you stay at the Big Show where the big boxes where the best fighters in the world are or you go you know what guys I’m going to go I’m going to go back out of here I’m going to go back to fighting in me hometown of wherever it may be fighting for an American belt or whatever it the good thing is this will cut the head off the snake that is the WBC the ibf the WBO the WBA guess how many world champions there are right now in the world in boxing how many world champions are there now how many world title belts are there active in boxing today right I’m gonna take a guess right are you just talking men I am talking uh men and women men and women how many world title belts right I’m going to guess at a at a at around 130 more [ __ ] more go on I’ll tell you exactly how many there is 170 World boxing champions in the sport today 170 who classed themselves a champion the w champion the WBC have got 34 world champions there’s 19 male weight C categories by the way and there’s 34 world champions the ibf have got 35 world champions the WBO have got 33 world champions what a nonsense and the WBA bearing in mind the w ba have two versions of the world title for both men and women as well they have the super and the regular WBA WBA got 68 world champions today just won that one government body this is why we say B the belts 170 boxes are walking this say saying not even saying it with a [ __ ] belt that says world champion on it across men’s and women’s weight divisions men’s generally around 18 20 WBC have got 22 men’s weight divisions women they’ve only got eight but then you know other others have got more others have got less I think there’s only well there’s only eight women 16 sorry 16 weight divisions of WBC for women 17 with the WBO 17 with the ibf 16 with the WBA and then anywhere between 18 and 22 for the men do you know how many total belts there are belt by those four government bodies belt I’m talking World title inter cont ental M Granny’s last slipper gold [ __ ] belt guess how many belts there are supplied by the WBC the ibf the WBO the WBA in the world today how many belts are active right now Adam that they take 3% for 1,477 Championship Bel in boxing that’s a fact fact two of those government bodies are family businesses started by far is now run by sons multi-millionaires the whole thing are cro a lot of them need out and Uncle tak’s flying the flag fantastic I think this is a brilliant moment for boxing this is the thing that boxing needs more than anything else this sport must be changed today and this is how we change it by getting rid of all these government bodies by having one League where the best fighters in the world are fighting under the same B Banner and are fighting each other consistently to find out who the best of the best is in every one of the weight divisions and we don’t need [ __ ] 22 weight divisions we on board kids I think everybody’s on board aren’t they if that report is true it’s extremely exciting don’t be skeptic listen anybody that wants to emulate the success of that format that the UFC are picking up and dumping all over the world every single week get on board with it yeah get on board with it this could be the king of sports once again like it used to be where back when all the frustrations that we’ve had during this podcast in eight years gone yeah gone because it becomes an incredibly streamlined sport to follow for the Casual audience that you can when you’re having a chat with your mate at work who’s champion of the world this guy’s champion of the world in this weight division let’s get rid of some of them weight divisions let’s get rid of them belts let’s have one singer one song and let’s have the best fighting the best the top contenders fighting the top contenders the new prospects coming through fighting the new prospects what you were saying there about how this is ever moving right so you sign up for a four-fight deal four fight deal in Turkey Al shakes Fight League see how that goes at the end of it if you’re super entertaining you’re winning you’re doing your thing might offer you a new deal and you might get more money in your new deal if you’re a bit sketchy and you’re two and two okay we’re going to off your new deal but just be aware there’s somebody else chomping at the bit over here who wants in he wants your place in in in this league mate this is the best of the best you’ve got to prove to us that you’re the best of the best mate I’m all in on it absolutely all in on it absolutely and hopefully we get more from SEI Al Shake’s office in the coming days because the writer story wasn’t backed up with any quotes but those are the noises that I’m hearing that you’re hearing our he has that he wants this sport to move for if they’re going to put all this money in they ain’t just going to dump a all the cash in and then get out the back door they’re going to dump out of cash in like they are with golf to try and transform the sport for the better and I think unlike golf which was a boys club the PGA just [ __ ] coining it in now they’ve had to you know do different things and move the move the goal posts forget about don’t worry about oh wait a minute what about the drug test and what about the that will get sorted that all that will get they just details right now one of the biggest issues with boxing is the weight divisions are more than anything else the 1,477 championship belts supplied by just four government bodies if they’re all gone just like boxing used to be remember don’t let people old schoolers say well you know we need belts don’t we because you know that’s how boxing works you go up the no man no nobody gives a [ __ ] about a WBA InterContinental silver belt no one cares TV network shouldn’t care all they should care about is where do you stand on the global rankings compared to that guy well I’m number 30 in the world well he’s number 29 that’s a fight let’s go that’s that’s all that matters that’s how boxing used to be back in the day when there was only one world title belts did sell out over a 100,000 tickets for [ __ ] B baseball stadiums in America so we know it works we know this interest in fact I think it’s the opposite I think less belts less weight division one sing or one song a universal ranking system of well they’re the best guys in the world makes this sport so much easier to understand and I think the viewership would explode Uncle taky knows what he’s doing man I’m all in and on that note we finished the show that’s our opinion on the uh on the report obviously nothing cemented as of yet but as and when more information on that comes out whether it is true or not we’ll be all over it you know that we’re all over it because we’ve been we’ve been saying that for eight years long mate continue fingers crossed we’re going in that direction uh thank you very
