also make sure to subscribe to the channel if you want to follow me on X at Bamford golf right 2024 US Open it’s here we’ve made it landed Colin morawa our 10th second place of 2024 last week at the Memorial tournament how I love these runnerup finishes I’ve got a good feeling though this week about the US Open we’re playing this at the Pinehurst number two golf course in Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina very unique golf course it’s a Donald Ross original 1907 they then did a core and cral renovation in 2011 prior to the 2014 US Open the last time we were here Martin kimer won that at a caner classical old style Golf Course Carolina golf course plenty of dog legs treelined technical the score is bound to be I’d say middle I don’t know five to six under par probably winning score maybe seven it’s a long golf course as well 7,548 yards it’s a par 70 number of sand bunkers are you ready for this 111 number of holes with water in play just the one barely in play at that number of uh what we’ve got as well is Acres of Fairway 50 Fairways 419 Bermuda grass the rough there is no rough that’s correct natural native sand areas with wire grass and other vegetation within it now that wire grass is nasty stuff if I was out having a cycle I would be rubbing against that wi grass on the bike because it’s uh what’s the wor best well the best way to describe it I suppose is difficult to navigate especially for blls trapped behind the bottom part of the wire grass it’s basically and this is the point here uh most US Open courses of course big thick rough not here if you miss the fairways which are generous 35 to 45 yards wide although no the guys don’t tell us where on the Fairway that is I’m not sure it’s on these Landing areas between so 28310 carry I think they most of the holes get noticeably thinner at that point and what they’ve done is apparently I heard that they’ve actually planted up to 20,000 new stalks of the wire grass around the landing areas on the fairways and a lot of these Landing areas also have designated bunkers so clearly a b a bunker as such cannot touch the sand you can in these native areas it’s a bit of a mind it’s a it’s a bit of a mindblowing proposition um tracks that we’ve seen like this well K Ireland where they played the uh 2020 PGA Championship I want to say um that was a similar kind of course uh although it was all passed bym Green and Agronomy but basically you miss Fairways you’re in you’re in a lot of sand uh Conger where theyve played the CJ Cup 2022 I believe Rory maoy won that that was a very similar Golf Course to this although only well about three hours drive uh Southwest from Pinehurst but in South Carolina um another course that’s probably the best versions of this is very very you unique and it isn’t just the fairways and the lack of rough that really makes this course special it’s the it’s the actual green complexes which are unbelievably not apparently what Donald Ross originally designed they basically became these kind of upturn greens over time but court and kencho said well these greens are so damn good we’re not going to change them so they reckon these greens are up to 6,800 Ft in size but pinable area where they could physically place a pin 2 to 3,000 square ft now that’s incredible so basically less than 50% of the these greens are pretty much tenable for approach shots that is mad and from that what you get is that the the actual uh the actual area of the greens that are appropriate for Pins are all on the top level everything runs to the back runs to the front runs to the sides and there is no rough around the green so the aprons basically allow the balls just to fall away and they fall into these deep and in many cases long areas where the approach shot is just repelled you go to the bottom of the slope you then got a chip to the very top of the green and if you over chip it you run down the other side often into more sand bunkers that are the other side it’s a beautifully thought through Golf Course Donald Ross cor and crenchaw are basically taking it back back to its roots to crack in Golf Course where we had Valhalla which was soft the the rough wasn’t long enough uh the greens were soft 21 under 22 under one there was no real penalty for missing Fairways that is not the case this week and when you look this does take us into uh what you need to win around here when you look at the past two winners here all top 10 for Fairways hit weather extremely warm up to 33° C so this is going to be hot this is going to be humid this is going to be North Carolina in June that is for sure on top of that uh the golf course hasn’t had a lot of rain recently that’s 86 to 92 Fahrenheit for those of you over in uh America very light breezes um yeah and hopefully firm and fast I cannot see a situation where the USGA will allow it to get to the kind of scoring that we saw 2014 we’re not in those spaces anymore but I’d be very very very disappointed if someone in the morning on Thursday goes out and shoot at 62 because that to me is not pionus number two they need to make these greens to the point of clearly they they will be slightly receptive early Thursday early Friday but this the score we don’t we don’t want double digits winning this it would be lovely to see a six seven underpar winning this one thing I will say about this course as well the lack of rough around the greens really does create a problem and also of course the wire grass there’s rocks there’s all manner of stuff to avoid in these sand areas the penalty for missing Fairways the penalty for missing greens is varied it is tough and there is an element of luck in there and golfers hate that but for every par that is scrambled there will be doubles and triples because the amount of options that you’re going to have around these greens is going to be fuddle a lot of the top golfers this week so you give a pro too much information and too many options they struggle and you can pop you can chip you can do all manner of stuff you can even run the ball onto these green complexes playing a little some bump and runs when you’re in trouble so there are options here is a very lynxy feel kind of golf course although is landlocked and nowhere near the sea but look at previous winners like Payne Stewart Michael Campbell Martin kimer all decent records at the open and all played very well at St Andrew so that could be a link in to someone like a Victor hovland for exent for example Rory maroy of course there’s so many of the top players that won there cam Smith clearly jumps out at us as well Jason day and the likes okay I did say about key SC uh key statistics I’ve only got two sets of data 14 and 05 Michael Campbell clearly no Strokes gained driving distance between the two of them they average 22nd of those that made the cut driving accuracy ninth you see what I mean 76.8 and 64.3% of Fairways made grins of Regulation 17th Drive total driving rank of fifth a bll striking rank of fifth scrambling 12th putting average putts per G second so hitting Fairways strategic management of the golf course I think a lot of players are going to lose their Rags here uh and rather than play for position you know they say about playing for middle of the greens these greens is all about middle of the greens I mean I saw Colin morar yesterday at Memorial chasing a pin on the left side of the Fairway with a drawer and you and made bogy and you just think that’s the kind of stuff that You’ really got to provide at Pinehurst you’ve got to just well the US Open PA are fantastic scores avoiding make sure that Bogies are bogies and not doubles and triples that’s that’s the key around here and this golf course at Pino number two really does exacerbate big scores right top 10 of this week’s predictor model at golf betting system we run a predictor model we run both old and new you can use them completely free of charge I have built a model today on Monday morning over here in the beautiful shes of the United Kingdom around London although it is raining currently I’m glad that isn’t the case at Pine’s number two by the way it looks to me as if the only moisture that’s hitting that course is the due in the morning and what the USGA decide to put on it that is as simple as that this isn’t going to be any this isn’t going to be um a Valhalla where the the golf course was ruined before Pros even turned up due to the amount of rain that they had received top 10 of my predictor model I will run through them I will say John Ram is in here at 8 the feeling is he won’t be playing based upon what we saw at lib Houston so I will include him uh if Rah isn’t to play the number 10 man would be Tony feno he is 55 to1 with bet Fred 10 places each way well done to bet Fred 10 places each way this week as a standard default Market you can also choose uh eight places each way if you would so rich or five places each way and a court the odds um but on top of that they have a summer deal bet10 get £50 in free bets and bonuses is available via my betting preview that is available in the link uh in the description box below this video bet 10 get50 in free bets that is a better deal than they’ve been running recently the post uh the promo code is summer 50 for that Super Deal runs to the end of the Euro so if you do want a new bet Fred deal that is a very very good offer 10 places each way default Market of 50 odds this week so fenale would be at 10 if Ron was to uh dnf but let’s go through this Thomas is at 10 45 to1 with Sky Bet eight places each way nine is Tommy fleetw with 40 to one with bet Victor eight John Ram 33 to1 33 to1 about John Ram uni bet seven places each one bet he’s glad he made the move clearly there’s plenty of money in the bank mind seven Bryson dambo 20 to1 uni bet seven places each way not keen on Des Shambo this week I think he’s going to be too flagrant off the tea unless unless he can be amazingly strategic with himself take three woods and positional clubs off the T which with his power he could do around here but that goes against his natural game six Victor hland I think he’s a serious danger 18 to one with uni bet seven play each way just didn’t like the way that he threw in nine Bogies and a double within about 21 holes at the memorial across Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning uh Sunday afternoon it was not good from Victor if he does Miss greens here if he can Texas wedget he might be in the ballpark that’s one thing I will say about Victor five is Brooks cap cut 20 to1 with be Fred 10 places each way four col Mor carwa 16 to1 with uni bet seven places each way three Xander 12 to1 with bet Fred 10 places each way two Scotty sheff 100 to 30 with uni betet number one Rory maroy 11 to1 with William H eight places each way those prices are literally as I press go on this video 11 to1 maroy 100 to30 chefer 12 to1 Xander four uh 16 to1 Colin morawa winning prices of US Open winners the defending Champion is Windam Clark he’d never got a major top 10 in his life won the US Open last year at 66 to1 13 of the last 15 US Open Open winners have been first time major winners I sorry I think that’s 12 of 15 12 of 15 would be correct uh 25 to1 Matthew Fitzpatrick 10 to1 John Ram 25 to1 Bryson 80 to1 Gary Woodland that works through at 41 to1 if you go all the way back to gram McDow 80 to1 in 20 to1 another first time major winner 39 to1 now we know being it 2024 and being golf betting that players at 40 to1 do not win golf tournaments anymore they haven’t in 2024 that might change this week but until this point you’ve got to be sub 20 to1 or you got to be above 50 to one that’s where I placed my card that’s where I’m heading um interestingly enough none well no that’s not true one of my players would be a firsttime major winner okay where have I gone I managed to get 4 to one this morning in the UK with Star Sports win only on Scotty Sheffer this golf course is perfect for Scotty if you look at our major championship average uh analysis which again I will put a link in the description box Scotty Sheffer has an average of 69.81 over recent Majors that is over half a stroke per round better than Rory m Roy Xander chaule and Brooks geter who were in very tight group behind Scotty on a golf course where you can separate on a golf course where long and straight rules where creativity around greens is going to be needed potentially but definitely where strategic play and knowing where to miss is required Scotty Sher I don’t think he’s going to be touched personally I’ve said that on this golf betting system podcast for months now so I am on 4 to one Scotty Sheffer six points the win if you want a little bit more meat on the bones the golf betting system podcast will be out tomorrow you can come and listen to this available on this channel by the way don’t forget at banford golf on X 403 likes is our Target next up 16 to1 I managed to snare eight places each way with boil Sports this morning on Colin morawa um for me right now second best player on the PJ tour behind Scotty Sheffer uh he was great last week he just could not deal with Scotty gaining 13 Strokes on approach across four rounds look at the numbers though Colin did out drive Scotty he was better around the greens and he was better with the p I think on a golf course where driving accuracy has real merits and let’s not fate I mean this is no Jim furc or Zack Johnson here I was seeing drives yesterday getting out out to 310 at Memorial in fact with some slope 340 was one of the drives Colin can get it out then the fact I love around here is that it’s just absolutely IR straight the fade is back the greens in regulation players back so yeah I like a bit of col marawa don’t mind him on Bermuda he’s one at the concession first for driving accuracy 15th for strokes going off the T and T second for strokes gain current form behind only one other across my eight-week trackers and that of course is Scotty Sheffer so that is Colin Mora car he’s um yeah the most accurate driver of the golf ball on the PJ tour and he’s 15th for strokes g off the te across the whole season I’m throwing in a live player at 20 to1 with B Fred 10 places each way as well and it isn’t Bryson dber it’s Brooks cap cup you know that I love Brooks kker at a major I am wearing my shirt and tie is a major you can follow me on X at banford golf and don’t forget subscribe to the channel but if you look at Brooks because he’s out of the spotlight of the PJ tour because he’s not taking on Scotty Sheffer head-to-head each week he just bumbles Along on live his current foron live reads 919 he’s not exactly playing bad golf yes he’s bombed in Majors this year 45th at the Masters 26th at the PJ Championship but a soing wet 20 underpar Valhalla isn’t a major championship in Brooks cup keper mind where he’s strategically playing for Center of greens even at the PJ when he could have been chasing pens that wasn’t going to work this though does work and I tell you what I love about Brooks kep c r game at the moment no stros going but first Fifth and eighth for Greens in regulation across Adelaide Singapore and Houston last week he also ranked second for driving accuracy and third for total driving hitting the ball on average over 312 off the te last week he also shot on Sunday just to see what was on you know just to see what was there he shot a fight 7 under P 65 Brooks and Scotty In Contention on Sundays just MTH altering throwing in a couple of other big names go on Colin be great if you could get involved I like the sound of that so Brook keper two points each way 20 to one with bet Fred Brooks kepka a five-time major Champion the guy who I’ve thrown in my last tip of the week I managed to get 55 to one with bet Fred 10 places each one I think you should get all of those places with this individual um he takes a lot of boxes when you look at things that I’m looking for here he’s fifth for strokes game total on the PJ tour that is pretty mad only beaten by Sheffer chaule maroy and Alex nen whose good season really has been understated he ranks in the top 25 for strokes gained off the T on approach and pting the only weakness with this individual is is around the green g but I’ve heard interviews with the cor superintendent he says that they’re trying to put doubt into the minds of the players not to instantly automatically pull P out but if you are going to get away with putter on most of these holes when you miss them I think it helps the poor scramblers so I think this guy is definitely in play he does tend to play well doesn’t matter if it’s Bermuda grass bent grass PO he seems to deal with all of the Agronomy but give him a Carolina golf course he’s been seventh at cob head I know that’s played in Florida but it’s a Carolina type golf course he also had a fifth and a second at harpertown when I’ve been on him both times loves the Carolina shaping of golf calls would it be a massive shock yes did we see this individual go out in the second last group on Sunday at the PJ championship and I know that that was a very strange major championship but pump gravitas big crowds huge pressure he was there for 55 holes birded the first got very close to Scotty Sheffer and then but we all learn he went out in that group with Shane Larry by the way so tala so 55 to1 on sah tala with be Fred 10 PES each way so to round up igala at 55s Brooks ker at 20 to1 I think that’s a great price col Maru at 16 to1 Colin that Mor Caro price was two points more than I got of the memorial last week work that one out and and yeah I know it’s a major but look at most of the field there’s some real poor quality towards the bottom and and lots of poor quality as Brooks always used to say 70 to 80% of the field it’s not even competitive and that leaves then win only 4 to one with Star Sports I’ve got Scotty Sheffer for the win I’ve had a bad Cod I’m literally destroyed or my throw is but I got through the show I will be back next week for The Travelers Championship hopefully the vocal box is in better form then don’t forget let’s get over 403 likes follow me on X banford golf would be a pleasure if you did on top of that please subscribe to the channel and I hope that your 2024 US Open is absolutely fantastic and all that your bets and DK teams are very competitive see you again next week

  1. Also a strategy I have for betting super chalky players like Scotty is to save some powder and live bet him after the off. Hopefully he has a slow start and you can get a slightly juicer price.

  2. Dispite trying his best not to I got Straka in the frame last week to pay for this weeks bets. Xander, Min Woo, Day and Kitayama for me so far but I'm tempted by the 200/1 + prices on Moore and Davis.

  3. Thanks for your input Steve, you and your crew always come up with a nugget of something that will help me make my choices. Keep up the good work 👏 🙌

  4. I'm wondering if Xander can free-wheel it in his first major as a major champion. Minimal pressure.

  5. Tea and honey for the throat. Or was it Scotch and honey? I'd try the latter first. Thanks for the great info!

  6. hi steve i'm sure you explained this a hundred time … but what does 8 places each way mean ? sorry for stupid question .. love your channel

  7. Great content. I am torn with the LIV Players this week. I am in a O&D (where i pick 2 players) i already used most PGA Players except i do have Hovland, Finau, Im, Fleetwood, Fitz, Henley, T. Kim for Top tier. Can use LIV players but used Brooks, Neimann. What about Brycin, Rahm, C. Smith? Or should i go Fitz, Fleetwood ? Thanks

  8. Steve, Theegala loves a course with wide fairways, and is a fine and an imaginative scrambler, so I'll take your tip on him Brooks aswell, a good lag putter he is! I think Rory will get involved, but Scottie looks a worthy favorite. Sometimes when everything seems perfect they don't get the "W" though,we'll see. Rory or Brooks to win, and Thegala an outstanding shout for a place.

  9. There’s going to be so much roll out from the drives on these fairways going to be baked out. Like a St. Andrews type (some luck involved)

  10. Tom Kim Sleeper Sneaky Pick! Hearing from Friend w/ Boots on the ground that Smart/Experienced Caddies WILL be one of the big factors and big reasons who does well. Saying if Players go for Pins on pure ball Striking and approach aggressively they will get boned over and over! Need to be positioned on the right side period!

  11. Thanks Steve. I was on Morikawa last week and am also on Scottie and Theegala too this week which probably means one of them is coming second given this season. Also backed Aberg and for top 20 Straka and Bezuidenhout.

  12. Thanks Steve. Hideki, Nick Dunlap, Billy Ho, and weighing in with you on Theegala too. And via the Pod with Akshay Bhatia, Keegan Bradley from Paul. And Barry's tips on Sepp, Harry Higgs and Zac Blair. I am taking my Golfing Guru Mum – Rosemary away to a Dublin hotel this weekend. They have about 20 screens in the bar, so hoping one of them will accommodate us with the Golf Thursday – Sunday? Good luck? 🤞🏌

  13. 404!👍11:20 need a 'Not loosing their rag' Skill Stat! Event Specific: FIRM Is this scored for both Greens and Fairway? e.g. McIlroy No.1?
