[Music] well welcome back we’re going to talk about a couple CLE of really cool topics number one how are my Wilsons working and two a new golf shaft that we got in here it’s G to be a lot of fun here on what’s In My George golf [Music] talk welcome back to what’s my drawers golf talk Jim mcclear why is it what’s my drawers because old Club makers Club Fitters are tremendous pack rats um no different it’s about what’s my drawers in the shop way there and what do we talk about we talk about Golf Club repairs reviews and fittings all so your scores can go low all right and we did a lot in the way of fittings this week we did a lot of INB builds this week we did a well we did a lot it was a busy week how about that let’s just go with that one plus I was actually able to get out and do some golfing so let’s hit it all the way around Scotty Sheffer Memorial it’s in Ohio it’s only an hour north of me he did very very very well and uh and one he had to make a clutch Putt and he did congrats to him all right uh number two fittings we did quite a few fittings I did a fitting for a 13-year-old that was 6’2 and he was using standard clubs now there’s a when fitting 13 year olds 12s 13s 14s I I call them tweeners because they’re they’re not little kids anymore they’re not quite that young adult even at 13 they call them tweeners so what a lot of people have done is how do you put golf clubs underneath them if they’re getting started and they’re like that well normally what people will do is they’ll go get ladies clubs and have them choked down and that’s a good idea because Dad’s clubs are normally too heavy and they make them they get these fall back in the in these in these moves these all these kinds of moves and that takes them out of their path and and so it’s about weight at this particular point now there’s always an exception to all these rules if the if your tweener is extraordinarily gifted physically then yeah then it’s a different item but a lot of cases that’s not the case in this particular case he’s 6’2 and had literally arms this big around all right so his strength hasn’t caught up with his height and and so he was squatting like I’m sitting in this chair having to having to hit golf shots and everything was leaking off to the right well yeah because you can’t make a turn so as we kept going we kept going kept testing I gave him full-on steel shafted test clubs just to see what he would do and once I got to the right length which was literally an inch over which is scary at 6’2 uh he started killing it finding the middle of the club face killing it now he wasn’t hitting it real far cuz he’s 13 hasn’t that speed yet however I started out really light with him you know and here’s that thing I go back oh the lighter shaft you can do it is bad no it’s not it’s that you find the right weight and so we started with the lightest shaft and that was a little too light he was losing it a little too much went to the next one a 50 Grammer and he started hitting it much much better all right then we went to the 60 gram and then he started dumping it again the weight the weight Factor started pulling in and like okay so we went back to 60 got comfortable with it and just started sailing it okay so then we have to talk about how he’s interacting with the turf souls and that kind of stuff so we put him into a club and he just he once we figured it out he was hitting distances that he’s never seen before and he had a pretty nice set it was it was a well it was an older it was a newer um Tommy armor and it was a nice set it just it once we once we got him fit there was just no comparison and it was literally gained him 20 yards and I and it was it was a lot so uh needless to say he was very very happy it’s always good to see a a young golfer walk out just all like oh hey doing good yeah you are you did really well and uh and then we got I worked with him a little bit on putting for like five minutes and all of a sudden he’s like yeah we need to do a putter fitting I said yes you do and uh just real quick I mean one of those 38 inch Putters are going to fit him just fine so it in the style of course that kind of stuff so you know you you got to know your you got to know your golfer you’ve got to know your the whether or not uh weights a weights an issue sometime it is sometimes it’s not and we’ll go from there so that was a that was a really really fun one and then uh I just did a I did a fitting here on Saturday and uh it was a a a comparison uh he was like well I just like to use I’d like to keep my old shafts well so what happened is this golfer was from Cincinnati and he had went to uh a very large a very large fitting uh company and uh they fit him into obon shafts and he had uh what did he have I think he had tidalist you have tius or tailor made doesn’t matter either way and uh and and they fit him into these obon shafts so any you guys know anything about obon obon is a is a very very nice shaft to be sure but also comes with a very nice price tag and so he was adamant about keeping his shafts I said all right so let’s check it and and he was a big mauno fan in the past so I started I started him with mauno stuff ended up getting him with and he had large offset in these in these clubs he had and he was always pulling and hooking and we and after a couple of changes because he was setting up to do this pull he was always had his arms way far away from himself and when you do that you have you swing around yourself you have no choice but to pull unless you hold off and then it’s this big high floppy fade and you don’t get any distance and that that’s not good either so I got him a little bit taller I said feet shoulder width apart it was funny because the the it it was funny because the 13-year-old had you know he had shoulders this wide and his feet were way out here in order to scrunch to get to the ball that’s cool uh but now we got him narrowed out and he’s making a he’s in an athletic posture in order to make the turn same thing had to happen with uh this older gentleman but I had to get his feet wider so it was just the opposite once I got him a little bit taller so his hands could drop down instead of being out he started striking the ball and find in the middle of the Fairway boom notice how none of that was part of the fit not is had anything to do with the equipment that’s why you go to Fitters sometimes they see these things okay we’re not swing experts but we understand swing floss so anyway I got him into a set of clubs he had an inch long set of clubs that’s how far out he was swinging and he was shorter than me when I got him into his posture and he was hitting and he got into the right spot and he was hitting he was in a half of an inch shorter than regular club and hitting further okay hitting it further and I gained him I literally again I gained him 20 yards I did the same thing in the driver the driver is a little bit more taxing because I was starting to get him tired but we saw we got him out there and again uh as per swing speed as it was shown his swing speed he was in the mid stiff range however because of the way he swinging we had to change the way the profile looked and changed the weight he liked something that was a little bit uh lighter than standard and he just could control it it was just something else so I’m on my soap box I know it but it’s all about go get fit you know if you got questions it has got to be in my opinion although I’m a fitter take it for what it’s worth that it is the most it the best money well spent so that you can make an informed decision on how you want to spend your money going forward as opposed to making that critical error of going oh yeah that guy won you know Scotty one last night with hitting all these let me I think I could get that and do the same thing negative Ghost Rider the pattern is full so go go get fit you might just be you might find out that maybe just some tweaks of your current set and you’re out golfing and you’re scoring shooting lower scores that’s the whole idea right shoot lower scores have a lot of fun take that hot dog and a coke from your buddy in the BET and move on okay got over top of that one okay so we’re going to start with this guy Peerless I got Peerless Rye from the Peerless Distilling Company and I I like ay all right and somehow this thing is seeing my hand movements let’s do this there we go okay so uh let’s go back and let’s talk about some other stuff now uh what did I do other than the stuff oh uh I didn’t you know I did take some pictures of stuff but I never did download I got a couple here’s a driver put those cp2 wrap on it got the shaft happening from Acra and uh and it was a Wilson driver somehow the Wilson head did not show up is a Wilson Dino Power we’re going to have to talk about that here in a minute okay as the progress is being made if you see behind me and you see all the I got some extra wood right here right there right there anyway and Mr mcgl won’t like it when I say it but too bad uh her her one of her birthday presents was to get a screen in back porch and it looks really good I am I I fought it I will say I fought it I didn’t like it but now I do I think it was a really really good good idea there’s a better look at it doesn’t look like that now we’ve moved some stuff around but you get the idea you get to see the the screen isn’t blocking the view I got the the door at the end is now finally uh got steel around it so we’re good to go so not bad right not bad at all and I was be feeling very artistic today yesterday so I took some pictures of some of these flowers that were blooming and uh thought this the fact that it was close up okay that’s me and uh let’s see if I can I got to stop this thing there we go see if it’s G to go hey there we go okay so let’s talk let’s talk about how we did this is the first one before we start on that number one like subscribe send a note to Mrs McGolf go MC golfshop roadrunner.com we’ll take care of you all right when golfing went golfing at Crown Hill Crown Hill is one of my favorites out there it’s a it’s out in the middle of nothing it can be a Zen golf or you can get caught up with some folks this week I went out very very early at like a quarter till 7 I’m sorry uh yeah quarter 7 and I was going to golf with a single that was out there and the single didn’t show up and there was a couple forom in front of me so you can just imagine how quickly I caught up with them well as I was waiting another single that was behind me came up and says hey how about we just golf I said sure let’s go one of the most positive individuals I’ve ever met and it was actually it was actually stupid good for my whole presence of mind uh his name is Josh so Josh thank you for that he doesn’t know he did that for me but uh it was pretty cool so number one here’s some of the looks that’s what that was looking like that just I mean the the course is just looking outstanding that is a 600 yard par five right there there’s some more of the same and then this is another one going uphill this is an uphill Par Four and uh just everything was just in really good shape the the greens were running fast it was just really nice it was it was nice to see it the way that it was the guys take care of you when you’re up there so anyway now on to oh I shot a 41 in front 43 on the back with three sixes so go figure I was hitting I was hitting it good the reason why I’m telling you that is because I had two items in my bag one of which you know which one you don’t so what first the Wilson the Wilson dino power and the first two rounds it kept feeling like I was hitting it off the toe and the Mark was there to prove it so I came in here I did some testing and never once did I hit into the toe I’m like what am I doing differently and it dawned on me after some serious self uh analysis and maybe you know one of these right you got to you know open up the mind that I was I was not swinging as I normally would and the middle the minute I remembered that I the ball started flying right where it was supposed to go because I had bent the clubs I thought man here we go this is not going to be right I need to be flat yada yada and and so I went back and I rebent them to the place where I thought they would need to be and this is a got to turn it upside down because it was left-handed that’s my six iron impact right I’m putting it in there in the middle I’m put in the middle it’s not a real tight place but I’m happy with the location and because of that 175 is is a is a nothing Burger anymore now it’s 180 to 190 I like that and then this one was my eight iron just for the fun of it about that guy that’s what that’s what you call a pattern right there that’s a uh that’s a one hell of a strike spot yes it’s in into the inside but if you can make that you can run that club around all you want make it very very consistent all right so Wilson’s the Wilson Dino Forge I am a fan right I am absolutely a fan right now the uh I hit the way I was hitting my the gap wedge was a weapon absolute weapon I I just knew I could throw it right at the right at the Target and that’s where it would go and I knew you know it’s not every time because I showed a 41 and 43 but I would turn and I knew I was pulling it and I knew exactly where it was going to go and it didn’t put me in in that much trouble uh pitch and wedge I was half swinging full swinging getting everything I wanted out of it uh the nineiron the nine iron in one particular instance I was uh 150 yards out which is basically a soft nine for me actually was 160 yards out sorry which is everything I got in a club when I was uphill so I I I clubbed down and and I took a full swing and I still flew the green I just hit every I it was easy it was amazing you know when you ever have those that that swing that just you just fig you’re like oh that’s that’s what it was and it was just swinging the club instead of trying to just swing the club hit the ball and watch it Fly and when I started doing that man oh man life was starting to get way better because I was on a string of some bad shots and as soon as that hit bam all right I used everything all the way up to the six iron and even and I missed the six iron just a little bit I got fat behind it and I still got out at least 170 to 175 yards not bad for a miss that was like fat three inches and then some rough so everything that says about this thing and it’s made to be a tow hitter and I got out there on one and I actually I literally drew the ball and I drew the ball around a tree purely by accident not on purpose and and Drew it around the tree and ended up and the guy playing playing with is like oh man that was awesome I like oh yeah brother that you know when you you play a few more years you can get on that too but anyway so it’s coming around right it’s coming around the swing’s coming around hitting the ball straight the short games working as far as I’m concerned I mean it’s like I’ve been golfing for the last three months it just I’m so happy with these clubs so if you decide you want something like that get fit get a number but yeah I’m here to tell you probably won’t be sorry now I went scouring the internet in YouTube Ville I’m going to call it golf tube from now on anyway on golf tube the uh there is a lot of other guys mostly from the UK that are just uh gooing over this stuff so take it for what it’s worth there you go all right second one the second one is a is the new shaft and it’s a new shaft by Acra Acra as you understand I’ve got the GX I got ier I got tzs and now they have a new one it’s called the show gun and if you out look True Temper will call it the premier shaft all right it’s an exotic shaft it but it’s not so exotic that it’s so far Out Of Reach anymore um that you know it the words it’s a$1 thousand shaft I am not going to say other than an example all right because it’s not and is a high price it’s higher than it’s higher than some but not all so it’s out there and uh I wanted to show you because I stumbled onto the I mean I knew I I I brought them in for sure to be used but I didn’t know how they were going to work so let me uh let me show you how they were going to work I’m going to do this here for you okay new shaft in town it is the shun line from Acro which is going to be what I would call their exotic shaft line or true Elite line whatever you want to call that so there’s two different manufacturing methods used and one is the 5 AIS is the uh the way that it’s being made and then there’s another process to basically make it so that there is no spine there’s a technical term for it but it escapes me right at this particular moment in time so that you could Orient this thing any way you want and the performance should be the same so what you’re getting in here is a high quality graphite a high quality uh Precision made graphite shaft you know we always talk about spines we always talk about hard sides we talk about where the label should go in this case but in this particular case it really should not matter okay so what we’ve got here is I’ve got it under uh Bob Bob came and tested some for me and he hit it and what really spurred me on to this was I gave him the blue shaft which is supposed to be for the high to get you the highest ball speed so it’s a very very soft shaft but very very low torque in the same consideration and that’s basically the whip style the green is is a soft in the butt very firm in the tip I tend to gravitate towards those and it is supposed to be for that kind of player that wants to feel the the club coming around and then the red is that is more like what they would say is their RPG shaft and is very what I will say is very brutally stiff all the way up and down to shaft very stiff in the butt but it’s uh a little softer the energy lets go a little easier however in this particular model in comparison to the RPG it should feel a lot better okay we’re going to talk about that here in just a second so I want to show you what we did the ones that have L’s are mine all right I went up there because what we did is I’m just going to show you really quick Bob came in here and hit and what we did is we went with the Shogun blue which is the one you see where the cursor is at right now threw it out there pretty decent hit it okay and then I gave him the green and it did not work for him his swing is not that way but then I turned around I loaded him up with a 70 G xflex type shaft and he just started throwing it way out there and spin came down he went where he wanted to go and I was like why is that working so with that question in mind I decided I would try it myself so here’s how this story goes so I tried the blue which you see is a 42 and an M2 which is an a flex I was going to go with m0 just to see barely could get it up in the air but it rolled out you look at that 40 plus yards because the spin rate was just crazy low uh got it down the middle and we’ll see where they land you’ll see that in a moment then I went and got the Shogun green and I put at 52 and in regular Flex all of a sudden it’s flying literally you know 15 plus yards longer and I’m rolling out there and another eight yards but I’m pulling it I’m hitting it well still getting it out there and uh and as you can see actually I’m coming on the up which is typically not me then I went to the Shogun red and all of a sudden and this is a 72 G uh xflex and all of a sudden I’m lighting it up I’m another six yards longer there and I’m another six yards longer there I’m straighter hitting it much better the spin rate’s just slightly less than before and it’s way out there now again I’m pulling it to the right uh but the numbers I was getting off of it were things I haven’t seen for a couple of years in the 270 280 range that’s a that’s a big hit for me now keep in mind I’m using a Wilson Dino Power uh TI head and you know it’s not known for being a big distance model but all of a sudden it’s working for me so let’s keep that one in mind all right so I went back and I thought well you know I like the green shaft profile let’s try that in that 72 G M5 that xflex just to see what would happen sure enough I’m only four yards behind it but I’m way straighter hitting it better so let’s take a look at what we see here so we go over to the shot plot and here’s the green shaft now these are five shots compared to the uh normal three that I have CU I wanted to see get a little bit better feeling so if you look a little most of them are to the right right and I let one bleed off to the left okay so 264 274 268 270 270 so these are pretty some pretty significantly cool shots right so here’s the red what’s the red look like Reds are definitely all pulls going that direction and you know I’m pulling hard there so there’s a 260 269 280 274 278 so basically what’s happened is the green is a little bit longer because I clobbered a couple but the green is far more consistent for me all right let’s go to the green the actual green with the regular flex shaft and it’s you know a couple go pretty good you see preponderance of them right here but I just yanked one pretty hard and 240 260 which is what I’ve been hitting uh there’s 220 these are rolling out because the spin the spin has come down incredible amount with this club with this shaft all right the last one is the blue and the blue didn’t get very High it didn’t get very much carry because the dog on thing didn’t get very high in the air if you look at that look at I’m just hitting bullets they’re coming down and they’re running like a scalded dog say for this say for this uh this one right not that one but maybe that one there we go oh I’m hitting the same one there we go the second shot and of course look at that one 245 270 just hitting very very very well all right so those are what it looks like there but where let’s look at how they land all right so here’s a Shogun blue and I hit one out that was that 240 shot that I mean I’m in the middle of the Fairway I just couldn’t get it up in the air I get this thing up in the air and it’s really easy to manipulate here’s the green you know couple up in here and there’s that one I showed you I really really pulled now here’s the red I I wanted to make sure I hit a couple really big ones and I went back and tested some more so I got five shots and with 230 being the lowest 250 being the highest but if you cut it down the middle it’s a 240 Club and I was out at 270 not bad right that’s a pretty decent little pattern uh little pulley but that’s pretty much my game now I go to the green all of a sudden I’m a little bit better in fact I’m a lot of bit better I’m in the middle I’m in the middle of the Fairway so carrying it in that that 240 range yet again and and then going out to 270 now these are numbers I haven’t seen for a while for me uh confidence in the driver just not swinging good that kind of thing and all of a sudden I’m finding the middle of Fairway so that has just been an absolute uh shocker right an absolute shocker in what’s been going on so to just a real quick review basically you know 217 258 236 266 239 268 and then all of a sudden 242 272 now those are averages but look how well I was hitting this the ball was just coming off and I’m using all the same golf balls the same numbers in order so that I had a same to same comparison so I got to tell you based on the uh the club looks good the shaft looks good um and it’s just exactly what they said I did some measuring and uh on them and we all right so as you can tell I found a combination right every once in a while you find a a combination much like mauno and the vrtx is that I have great combination well in this particular instance it seems that the Wilson Dino Power TI is a real worker when I put these other when I put these shafts in it so we’re going to talk about it just a little bit so the first one as I said before is the Shogun blue there you go that picture you know when I did that picture in there it was clear as a bell and then I I downgraded the resolution and all of a sudden it looks like crud so here we go here’s a better look for you Acra Shogun you see a little it’s got a little Japanese letter there I have no idea where signature I have no idea what that means but I do like the idea and they’ve done this in a lot of their other shafts where they have a contrasting color and then it it has the one that’s in line so for those of you guys that are logo sensitive this is a great little setup so there’s a couple of things here number one you get to see it there’s the weight and the flex made in Japan right the neat little stuff so again it it’s worthy of speaking that the five the five triaxle what do they call it five actual distances or the five way that they’re going to make this thing then there’s another technology that makes them consistent I.E no spine they were very adamant during our talk that that was what was happening now I got a bunch of shafts and well they’re right right they are correct there was not a spine to be found and I went looking I measured them all I measured them all for their weight I measured them all for their Flex I measured them all looking for spines and I only one only on one was a uh was a slight you could just feel it just just a little bit I mean the rest of time it spun around just fine and one was just like a little bit of a f and that was it and it wasn’t even you know if you’re looking around you’d be like well I got to find the hard side it was just so soft so you know that’s 10% or less that is well within the acceptance tolerance so the blue the blue is the lightweight this is the one that we get told that is going to be you’re going to see on long drive this goes in as low as 40 GR m0 in fact that’s what this is this is a 40 gram if you look 40 gram m0 and what this is is for it’s for Club head speed you’re going to get a little bit more whip in it a little bit of Club head speed however typically when you have that this happens right this is all waggly and wavy this has about a 4.0 torque now again measuring torque is different than other places but just what happens it’s on a a 1 foot arm and a one pound so it’s truly low torque and a 4.0 with somebody’s going to use it is like a sweet spot a sweet spot in the design so if you’re looking for something in a quality shaft and you need to want to pick up a little bit of speed that might be your thing all right the green shaft all right as they say in the in the car industry green for the money gold for the honey all right so again this is the Shogun now this one just happens to be the 62 M5 uh the 62 M5 again you roll it around just a good I like the matte look you see how it’s just got enough it’s just got enough interest that it just it’s a neat looking green it’s not a loud green it’s just a green so what this one is is this is a little softer in this midsection but way firmer over here all right way firmer over here and that’s more of that where you can bring it around this is the kind of stuff I typically gravitate towards uh and after we did the testing obviously so as far as finding the middle now the red and this is I know calling it red this is more of a maroon and Robin would be proud of me to say something other than red or primary colors but again we have that and you see that a little darker and this and these now because of the way that they’re made you know you’re not going to see uh you’re going to see light weights and and softer Flexes in the blue you’re going to see a myriad of flexes and weights in the green and then you’re going to see upper flexes and upper weights in the red okay just so you know so anyway to reiterate what I said in the video is that Bob hit it and just absolutely started smoking this red thing you’re like what is going on so I decided to do it and sure enough as you saw I hit it further now I was pulling it to be sure but I hit it further so I said well I like the green let’s go and get the green shaft out and all of a sudden I’m down the middle so it’s sitting in my bag right there all right is it there oh it’s not there where the hell is my bag oh it’s in the back it’s still in the back of the car okay so anyway in my bag out there so I I I kept that I kept the combination together it is a 9° Wilson TI with the green 7 2 M5 and I went back and I I I had to review the driver because I really didn’t think I had a good driver day but I mean I hit it out there but I just was I really out there and I went and reviewed on how you know how many Fairways did I hit and all that other stuff so there are there are 15 Fairways to hit and out of this 15 I hit 12 all right I hit 12 of them and down the middle kind of 12 and the three I didn’t hit one I uh I just completely duffed and I pushed off to the right and it was in the rough was a decent hit it just wasn’t in the Fairway the other two were short all right those are just I was operator air the rest of them pretty much down the middle once I figured out all I had to do was swing it to make it go uh that’s Josh I was telling you about I finally outd drove him because he lobbed one up in the air and I actually threw one out there pretty far otherwise this guy was in front of me he was in his 30s of course and he was easily 20 yards in front of me that’s what 20 mph swing speed will do for you so what does all this mean all right it’s a quality built shaft it’s a it’s a quality material shaft and and what they say in here is that this is a very stiff this is a very stiff shaft as far as profile goes but it’s supposed to feel better if you guys are if you guys are uh familiar with the acro stuff this is very much like an RPG in in more uh sophisticated clothing in that it feels better and they’re right the RPG I’ve hit that thing and it’s a brick and there’s no way I could get it to move this moves it actually works so I’m kind of happy with that right not more than kind of I am happy with it the green not only is it one of my most favorite colors ever on the planet but this thing just hap it just throws me right down the middle of the Fairway and and I was was hitting some pretty decent sh I was in some places that uh on two of the holes that are my Nemesis holes I hit well the one hole that one I didn’t hit the Fairway I threw it all the way out there as far as I could hit it and it started it hit and it just barely it just leaped into the trees it leapt it just leapt into the trees and the golfer with me oh man right okay so there it is so what do I say about this yeah yes it’s a higher price shaft than normal it’s not so high price that it’s so far out of sight I don’t think that that’s it right uh you know the normal shaft anymore runs anywhere from I’ll say 175 to 250 and this is just slightly higher than that uh if you’re looking for a shaft potentially this is one to to check out all right it is one to check out all right so there we go we got all that through so we know we like the Wilson dinosur and we know we like the Acura shun and if any of you guys have shown your age and you know how uh if you ever seen the movie The Last Dragon it’s a neat little it’s a neat little movie from the 80s early 90s and in there there’s a guy called show enough and he says he’s the shun and I was wanting to cut that little piece out the shun him saying the shun and put it in here and I found it I just don’t know how to download it so I can and if I could download it I could edit it but I got to figure out how to download it because that would make for a really cool a really cool video which is probably what we’re going to be talking about this week all right let’s go to it and let’s see all righty we got a lot in here Matt made it first Matt shot a 69 man makes my 83 look pathetic but you know what I expect that out of him all right describe how you fit a player for a putter how does that change as the full fitting happens okay so number one it doesn’t change as any fitting happens the process is the same no matter what all right so what we look for and I tell people first and foremost is uh I you have to be able to see the line and normally seeing the line is is actually equal to how you stand and address the ball you know some people lean way over some people are very tall again it’s the athletic posture in order to have your eyes either on the ball or inside the ball ever so slightly there’s a range can you be over yes but it’s not very often normally guys that wear glasses are normally those folks that do that in in order to be able to see it now once you can actually see the line you’ll actually start making more putts it’s really crazy uh you can like oh that’s where I was aiming yeah there you go then once you get that the line the the line angle is important so that you’re soing the club so that you can actually see the lines on the putter to help you align to see the line in order to make this putt and then what we do is we find a style that doesn’t fight your stroke meaning that you know screen doors have a you know an arcing putter has a certain kind of putter that works well for that is it a m is it a cure allend all no but it’s the largest percentage straight back straightforward has one straight back and straightforward but flop it open on the back close it on the front that has one and and then straight you know and then you then you get you can get into this Sation about well the lab putter doesn’t do that for any of them and it still hits straight truly it does but if they see it they can reweight it to help override some of what you’re doing and I like lab golf I like them a lot they’re in my bag I put it very very well with it matter of fact now we’re talking about that I was going to say something about I had a world record low number of putts Matt you ought to be very very happy about this low number this is one hell of a round no three putts no three putts and at least five one putts five one putts dude so do the math right so if you’re do supposed to do 18 and you take five away 13 I was it was crazy how good it was putting today or that day so very cool so there you go and last but not least is find a grip find a grip that’s comfy that doesn’t fight the way you want to feel captures some cool stuff on how you bringing the club down and how you’re releasing it so it knows if you have a strong release or a strong pull down that kind of stuff it’s measuring uh how you’re manipulating the club uh it also will tell you whether or not you think that it it needs an upright or loft or whatever based on the club that you’re swinging and and then you tell it you answer five to seven questions of do you like control do you want distance and basically what’s narrowing down is the product that they’re going to offer from Wilson um I’ve only the the weakness in this thing the weakness is in what it can offer not what it detects right it detects and it sees a lot of stuff but in every case I’ve done half a dozen to a dozen of these things in every case it’s it’s recommending a True Temper product and I think it’s just because that’s what’s in their stock in every instance from the high swinger to low swinger it recommends a recoil shaft and that’s just wrong right it’s just wrong and and and so that they need a little bit of work and will it change ba it should change based on their offerings and it should change based on the the numbers that they get so that they can make better decisions so it’s it’s a good product the limitation is the offerings that they have all right check out Newton shaft they being used in the champions tour I saw something about the Newton shaft I don’t but that’s about it maybe will funny enough I’ve G just got some staff Charlie got to say I’m enjoying them now can’t I will say the staff that staff ball is a real deal the staff X and the staff regular ball Real Deal uh last year’s model not so much this year’s model it’s a Player golf no doubt you are those are some nice signs they are push the Cobra MBS that have hitting the nineiron 155 everything’s in fives I’m not on it’s 155 65 75 85 that kind of stuff and I put in a regular flex shaft and I am getting all the height all the spin that I could ever want but I am killing it no mic on for Robin hey there’s Dan what you say how are close are you to Daytona I may be out later this summer oh Dayton I’m uh where am [Music] I hour hour 15 minutes maybe hour and 15 minutes uh from Dayton we you just go east on 3 five think it’s 35 go east on 35 come right in it all right how does the chea work to take spin off the ball well that’s kind of a tricky question I’ve been asking that for years RS how does it do that and some of the guys just give up and say well it just works and so the from a shaft design point of view what the people will tell you is the stiffer the tip the lower the spin I there’s more to it than that but that’s just a real General way of getting about it and and it depend okay number one it all depends on how you attack the ball all right number two it depends on how you know if you’re playing stuff from 1960s and it’s worn out grooves you’re probably not going to get a lot of spin you’re playing something new with nice fresh grooves or nice fresh face because the face coarseness is really what it’s all about not the groove uh you’re going to get a lot of spin uh now if you’re talking about a driver’s shaft uh now you saw where the the spin rate was okay so let’s use the driver shaft as an example all right so the blue was the highest spin rate for me and they all came down which is really kind of the the really exciting part about this stuff for me is look at that it’s see how’s it detecting that look at this there it goes again all right stop all right so anyway the this the blue is uh it’s a a softer profile all the way down the club it’s a it’s a very hight tapered Club so a lot of energy is transmitted to the bottom okay and because the way that the club was reacting it was uh shutting down I wasn’t getting a lot of height and you saw it I was hitting bullets and when I hit a really good one it really traveled and it was very very straight I was delivering the club square but I was delivering the club like that because of the way the club was working working or the shaft was working now if you get you take another one and all of a sudden the butt section now this is all relative in between each one in this profile this is softer this is firmer all of a sudden it comes way up right and it does that now the firmer again we go with this guy oh not that one you go with this guy and it’s firmer still and again you saw it hit a little bit higher and it flew a little bit further so uh so that’s what it is okay that’s what it is uh and and that’s and when you get that it but you’re meeting it Square on the up and the spin comes down now is it do when they say it’s a low spinning shaft I take that with a grain of salt uh because each person delivers the club in a different way and that’s really once you figure out when you get those balanced out then the spin will come down naturally in my opinion I don’t get a mic and that’s a good thing here we go I hear a new shaft going into Jim’s driver he’s going to be turning into a Cher chasing this I just saw him the other day I don’t I follow him on Instagram just to see what he’s doing and he’s and he’s uh you know as we talked earlier he’s throwing that club over a little bit I can see it and I but he’s hitting the ball so well how’s that bad well and this last one he’s trying to come from the inside a little bit and he brings the club in from the inside and there there that thing tips over and it goes like that and I was like oh but he still figures out a way to deliver it Square so okay you know everybody’s a little bit different but yeah oh no of course Charlie as far as we all go every golfer I don’t care what golfer tells you oh I’m not interested in distance okay well I’m going to give you a club that only hits 170 yards well hold on now right oh no every golfer you know if you can hit a little bit further that just makes the game a little easier but I don’t want you to have to I don’t have to work at it that’s the that’s the trick all right just wearing some breathing what was I was just hearing some breathing but maybe that was something else no it was just breathing that’s some talent to breathe and talk at the same time yeah you you know the the the magic of Technology Matt protoype 3.5 torque there you go that’s the that’s the right end Robin Arthur right the uh 3.5 is like the magic number for folks that swing decent Michael Moody hello McClary family hello sir glad to see you’re on I don’t know about a half an hour I’d say closer to 45 minutes hour and 15 depending on where you’re at for the smoke Max tin siai shaft R 4575 if I cut the butt do I need a few grams on the tip to change it to an a flex I do have a 55 stiff I could trim down instead uh okay so if you’ve got a tinsi and it’s a regular flex and it’s it’s 4575 which seems kind of odd cuz normally they run for well it might be 45 75 with the grip on it if I cut the butt do I need a few grams in the tip will it change it to an a flex no it’s still going to stay an R Flex all you’re going to do is all you’re doing is chasing weight in order to get swing weight back now will it make it play a little bit softer the answer is yes it will but it you would need to add a truckload of weight to make that happen so you should be fine Bill n what you say Bud all right gonna play around tomorrow nicely done there he is butter often often helps yes yes it does you know and you know Matt the the one of the best technique uh what do we say technique advice that I can give is I mean I see a lot of people that and I’m going to use the driver shaft as an example I see guys holding on to the putter like this and and okay because that’s the way that they hold that’s the way they hold their irons that’s the way they hold their driver you know I don’t see any of this I don’t see any of that you know and what do you see most on TV well you’re really hard to under see it unless you’re really looking for it what we see is this it’s the other way around and what that does is that makes both hands work as a unit a little bit better for a putt and when I do that to a lot of people when I see it I said just switch it around see what happens 90% of the time that’s a pretty good number 90% of the time uh the putter gets better the ball rolls better the aim gets better and is a lot less of this right and then now it becomes more of this and that’s important there’s Christ that’s what we were talking about you buddy I saw where you’re trying to come in a little bit flatter you still got that little Small Hitch but man you’re still killing it well done yeah yes I a little short that second shot just I was not getting I was not getting the members bounce and that was becoming evident I would hit the very front of the green I hit the front of the green I thing go boing or Bo or Bo oh yeah it was awful but uh the fact that I was hitting on to it was I was happy with it thank you sir H I like using it I don’t know what we’re talking about there Matt but yeah I do Jimmy if you got an AI camera that follows you every move that you do well what it is it’s a it is to an extent it’s a it’s the insta 360 camera and it’s made for doing presentations and stuff like that and you you have hand signals that you can give it and the hand signal is making an L with either left or the right hand and then it allows you to move one way or another and it will follow you such that if you got up if I got up out of my chair it would follow me to a board or something like that and the other one is is I can make it uh I can make it go in or out I can make it focus in Focus out and make it do that and then there’s another one that if I have a marking on what they call a whiteboard feature and I have these little markers that are around the Whiteboard I I throw up another signal and it goes straight to the Whiteboard so you can act like you’re doing a look down kind of thing H we were working on device with guys who made smart swing yeah I remember those but the technology knes wasn’t there yet oh I know it dude and I was I I’d worked with those guys a little bit as well and the stuff that they you could find was amazing but uh how to interpret the logic was just incredibly hard been playing Taylor Made golf response check it out is Van amazing ball for average swing speed okay very cool I wish I would have tried the shaft before but it wasn’t offered okay isn’t the tour response the interation of the project a ball I don’t know I’m not real big with Taylor man so I to the middle of it however I know I’ve penetrated it with the drill trying to put all those screws in there’s missing MC Golf and uh man you can get you get that you get that charred Oak smell man
