in a world where more affordable quality golf clubs are becoming more prominent I bring you today a set of golf clubs that cost you less than 500 lound they are not Tacomo they are not Costco and they aren’t even Cali hi everyone my name is James Robinson welcome back to this YouTube channel today I bring to you a set of golf clubs that are the inys 500 ions now these things look absolutely gorgeous as you can tell and they are of course from the brand decathlon so decathlon one of Europe’s big sports stores do they have in America Rob have no idea the kapon we don’t know Rob lived in America but never saw one so if they do there’s not as many of them there are here in the UK and across Europe now what’s so special about these golf clubs and why are we reviewing them today you see on this channel I love bringing you guys top quality products that potentially can save you a little bit of money but also perform well for you so we’re going to test them today these are aimed at 15 to 30 handicap now looking at these you wouldn’t have thought that cuz they look really good really Sleek really sexy I saw them and thought you know what I’m looking forward to giving those a go when I read up on them 28 degre of Loft on this 7on I haven’t memorized that but look it says it on the sole there very very nicely and they nicely kind of boxed off nicely squared off and just a gorgeous shape so we’re going to test them out here on the golf course we’re going to test them inside for numbers and see are these good value or are they cheap because whenever we say this cheap is cheap and good values good value Bobby we’ve got it right we’ve got how far have we got I should probably check this I’ve got a 7 ey now it might not be that far we might have to go eight I think par three 150 plane 161 that’s a nice little seven isn’t it got the pf1 Rob it’s staying in the bag of the pf1 it’s just a little bit lighter for me than the Yellow Submarine so we’ll go with that so the thing I’m looking for the with these irons is how forgiving are they how do feel they’re going to perform pretty well I would imagine because we have premium components in there just like you would do if you were buying tacos or Costco or anything like that but also how versatile can they be because if I go and buy a set of golf clubs and I am a 30 handicap what happens hopefully when I get down to a 15 handicap are they still going to be right for me or am I going to lose a load of money when I go Bobby do you want to buy these irons that cost me £499 and Bobby goes yeah I’ll give you 50 Quid and you go no Bobby that’s not how the world works and Bobby goes no it is I’m I’m skinn you go okay sorry right is that how it would have gone oh perfect perfect right cuz you would take advantage Bobby wouldn’t you so straight away looking down it the blade lengths a little bit longer than what I anticipated when I first saw them and it’s got quite a strange look to it because the toe area doesn’t look that big it looks like the grooves are kind of elongated through the face I do think that’s going to help with confidence I think it’s going to inspire a lot of confidence how do they feel I’ll tell you what there a First swing of the week I can’t believe how well that went I struck that really toey it’s a good job they are rather oversized I’ve struck that there it still felt okay I could feel the face twist a little bit but as you can see from the ball flight not too bad at all I can’t wait to see how far up that is because I think that’s going to be like 20 ft away right same again little bit closer to the flag see that one’s come out a little bit lower but it’s still going to be up there and that’s again going to be flag High I’m just wondering about these are they too good to be true is something going to be glaringly of this is it going to be the resale value is it going to be the quality after 6 months 12 months in the bag although having tested a lot of inis products before generally they do it right generally they do it quite well so come we get three on the green to start with oh that felt lovely that’s the best strike I’ve had so far leaking a little bit to the right and that looks like it’s gone a long way let’s get up there let’s see where they’ve gone we’ll test all the clubs in this bag as well just to make sure that you’re going to get great value for your £499 let’s go and see where they finished just a quick side note Bobby look that’s the center of the face that can you see there there we got it we got it has marked up already that’s just me telling you that the might mark up fairly quickly but for £499 how bothered are you it’s interesting because when you do save money on golf gloves I always think and I think this when we do Tacomo videos when we do Costco videos where would you spend the money you’re saving would you spend it on lessons green fees holidays and trips or just a morning coffee every time you play because things soon add up and if you can just claw back a little bit of money but still get premium components still get x95 shafts Dynamic gold shafts Golf Pride grips generally you’re going to be a lot happier down the line I’ll stick with a coffee I think so distance-wise I’m actually really happy with these because I didn’t quite strike the first two that well it is early in the morning and we haven’t had the war we should have done the second one I struck really nicely it’s not that big a difference where it’s finished I think pitching wise it may be quite a big difference but let’s test the pitching wedge and let’s see how good this is around the greens because when you are buying a set of golf clubs you want to make sure you’re covering all your bases you want to make sure that you can use the clubs where you would want to use them I pitching where you’re around the greens that looks massive doesn’t it is it going to be a little bit big and clumb orome 42 Bobby 42 for pitching wedge I remember the days where 47 was strong remember that I must say though feel wise for these clubs they actually feel really nice and soft and inesis they make balls and drivers and all sorts of stuff but if things don’t feel right if the sound a little bit firm a little bit clicky that’s going to put a lot of people on off even new golfers that these clubs are designed for so the fact that they still do feel pretty soft I think is a very much hat off kind of moment for the guys in assist because they know that you’re going to lose people quickly if they don’t feel right not an easy chip for this try and get the ball moving a little bit see that grabbed as well which for me I’m really happy with cuz sometimes you look at these more budget options and they don’t work around the greens they don’t grab the grooves maybe aren’t quite as sharp as you would have on the limits of conforming look at that they really do feel nice and the one thing I’ll say is they feel premium there’s a forged element to these clubs and that’s really what a lot of people will want have Duff that one so the Forgiveness levels are there the feel levels are there the performance levels so far I feel like we’re doing okay with them let’s test long ions and let’s see just how good forgiving and of course versatile they are cuz the Steven ion I’m going to give a tick I’ve enjoyed it it was forgiving they were all round about the right distance pitch and wedge really enjoying from around the greens even though almost looks like a chipper so if you struggle like hitting chips out of here and we not say what that is Bobby Bobby S anyway if you struggle with that this might be a good club for you because generally it’s going to be a little bit more forgiven there’s more surface area to hit the golf ball from not there Bobby how dare you I’m screen now and for me these ions are only going to be excellent value if they perform for numbers as well yes it’s all good and well having a nice feeling iron an iron that you can get around a golf course with on the odd occasion but realistically we want an iron here that can perform Time After Time After Time consistency consistently you could say looking down at this six9 that we’re going to take numbers with it actually looks you like it looks like there’s no toe area the grooves cover so much of that club face and that does offer a little bit of probably con confidence you could say how far what we saying Bobby for a six 165 I’ve hit that one toe that’s a terrible strike look look at that go still in the air at 165 178 carry nice and straight spinning at 5,400 188 total you could see how much the face geared open there actually on the action replay so it’s a good job we’ve got lots of Club face cuz that wasn’t my best and I tell you what that wasn’t a good strike either but that is literally like an arrow and that’s carrying 284 running right up to 190 three now these are quite strong lofted as you can imagine they are game improvement irons but they’re also a budget Iron as well realistically compared to the price of other irons I’m not trying to say £500 is cheap but it’s a lot cheaper than other irons so I’m not going to lie I haven’t hit three shots that straight for a very long time that’s carried 190 and that’s gone 198 total and the the real amazing thing is it’s spinning at 6,000 so even with 25° of Loft out to check which nice to have it on there on the six I we’re still generating the spin rate and we’re still getting a nice launch angle that was launching at 17° so realistically what more do you want I was kind of hoping that one will deviate offline but that might even be a Center Line ball spinning at 61 carrying 189 releasing up 200 8 once again I have to take my hat off to Da caflon for these clubs because these are performing incredibly well I managed to get a good performance out on the golf course with them as well and for them to be packaged this good and look this appealing I think we’ll say congratulations congratulations guys if you’re in the market for a set of these then go and test them let’s get back out on the golf course I can’t it straight again like I’m I’m not swinging good either that’s gone 200 as well get in these are for a lot more people than what you might think a lot more okay so the longest iron we do get in this set is the five iron so that’s a little bit of a downer I think for 499 maybe you could push to try and get a 4 IR in there but remember these clubs are designed for high handicap golfers so generally you might have a hybrid in there for the 4 iron The Shining Light here is the 5on is 22° of Loft that’s strong that’s like that’s that’s Bobby going climbing three times a week strong so not that that ever happens anymore cuz you’re busy now Bobby I you got a job but five iron and again we’re going to look down at the blade length straight away here because this for me is a Hu it looks fantastic it really looks good it looks modern it looks like it’s Forward Thinking and it also has an air of traditional about it looking from the Top Line the Top Line isn’t massive and oversized but you can tell there’s a lot of help in the back here you can tell it’s got that hollow body design and you can tell that it’s got plenty of tech in there to help you is it going to feel good I mean head shapewise it reminds me of the vager ions from back in the day where they’re a little bit more boxed off right all right so there’s the grip on there as well Bobby isn’t they it’s uh O2 inesis de caflon so we mention about premium products and premium we’ve got premium shafts in there I wouldn’t necessarily call the grips premium um because it is their own decathlon grip so well spotted Bobby how far can we hit this you know what that felt really good and I feel like I’m not I’m not I’m not I’m not an excus as kind of guy am I Bobby but it is early in the morning we’ve had a long weekend um any more can go fat and apart from that I’m hitting them okay and they feel really really good I feel like the Forgiveness levels are there imagine this is what a lot of people will enjoy oh stop it I don’t know how they’ve made them feel this good and they’re two that I really want to compare side by side they’re both in the Fairway the second one was much better struck than the first one but if they’re head and head up there then yes it’s nice talking numbers it’s nice to be able to tell out on the golf course that you are getting the Forgiveness that potentially youve you’ve been sold or that you wanted in these clubs all along but easy to hit really like re stupidly easy to hit probably not lazyy to Bobby no
