Linn Grant’s Winning Highlights | 2024 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed

Linn Grant made yet more history as she won the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed for the second time, chasing down overnight leader Sebastian Söderberg to overturn the biggest final round deficit in DP World Tour history courtesy of a flawless final-round 65 in her hometown of Helsingborg.

The Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed at Vasatorps Golfklubb returns this week to Sweden as talent from both the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour come together. The tournament features a field of 78 men and 78 women playing in the same groups for one prize fund and one trophy. Dale Whitnell returns to defend his title this week. He comes into his title defence on the back of missing four of his last five cuts but can take some confidence from his 16T finish at the Porsche Singapore Classic in March. Linn Grant, who made history by becoming the first female to win on the DP World Tour at this event in 2022, is also in the field this week. She’s claimed four top-20s this season including a 7T at the Cognizant Founders Cup last month. Sebastian Söderberg will be teeing it up in his home country this week. He’s making his first DP World Tour start since making the cut at last month’s US PGA Championship. Before that, he topped the Asian Swing Rankings as he registered three successive top-five finishes, including back-to-back runner-up finishes in India and Japan. Others to look out for include Rasmus Højgaard, Caroline Hedwall and Yannik Paul.

yeah talking of that Swedish conveyor about Ling Grant the champion of 2022 I think she’s gone on the conveyor Bo a couple of times and she keeps on coming around that’s how good she is birdie fifth hle l Grant been difficult a week thiso he’s just coming out semi- rough to a front pin go in what a shot then Grant on fire yeah we saw a graphic yesterday with if you’re over on that right side it’s like 75 over par so three birdies in five yeah takes you back doesn’t it remember when she opened up with five birdies in six hole shot 64 last day A couple of years ago that was a good try really good try and she’s got some chances coming up as well seven with her length 7even eight n and 10 by five so what a chance she has here well just a bit shy here Ling Grant on the seventh pting chipping rather down the hill come on move that the other way should come back a bit lovely shot that keeps the Run going nice chance here on eight you get it online with the right strike nearly nearly pretty [Applause] good absolutely on a day like this right to left up made full use of that cup ouch that is going to hurt she’s got it dialed in today yeah the challenge is actually just hitting this Fair once you’ve done that especially for the ladies 120 yards that flag can really attack it what a shot what a wonderful front n that is 500 par 31 Lyn Grant this is a par five on 10 third shot for ly Grant pin in that back right corner you’ve got water long as well any sort of Breeze it should be off her right she’s been playing aggressively so far not her best don’t think she’ll be pleased with that one to get to 16 within five [Applause] hello Ling Grant doing Ling Grant things on a Sunday at the Scandinavia mixed 113 yards ball just a fraction below her feet starting this right trying to work it back in had the line didn’t it that would have been for the seventh birdie of the day and only just 11 holes so clearly playing some amazing golf over to Ling Grant we know the t’s been move forwards playing down that left wing look at that high ball flight should be good that trying to get a low one and skitter couple of bounces and spin one two just not quite hard to get out of the way up the that Hill there outside chance for birdie slow part get it there come on get it there so hard to make yourself do cuz you’ve got to force it don’t you it’s it’s almost got to be last thought out there at the moment yeah you don’t want to be doing that if you pitch this mid right it could kick to the left as well so better safe than sorry yes an extra couple of yards that would have been even better but from an awkward light that’s done pretty well had plenty for Mis range she not really got many to the hole come on turn turn everything but Pace [Applause] again holes are running out yeah if you’re going to have a chance those are the sort of parts that you want to see falling as you climb up the leaderboard aim it over that bunker and just let it go asking for it to drift it’s a relatively quick part from there now but heart of the green definitely a safe spot down Breeze as well so keep releasing do it had the line again just shy I mean it’s so easy for us to say but you got to give it a go relatively shortsighted maybe but looks like the ball’s sat up so taking the lofty option well there she was almost too close you know little half Swing From the Rough down wind right these need to go in now for Ling gr for behind for to play here we go oh it bubbled around a bit didn’t it never online mind that was the poorest part she’s hit a week I’d say tough little finish 15 16 18 not going to be easy to the win so if she can get to 18 just got to sneak I think yeah agreed I think that’s a realistic goal as well well Ling gr 16 she’s had a mixed uh week on this I’ll double bogey a birdie and a bogey need a birdie today I think that’ll help should be perfect where is it there it is absolutely stunning not been many birdies though on these last three holes only 14 all day so well uh something happened there with a strike or something because that was a gap wedge in her hand she’s hit it to here at least it’s downhill so she should get it there well it’s a big ask for M to be honest maybe just a little bit of adrenaline overall it was a poor shot but definitely ruled out short just a bit of tidying up to do for Ling Grant remains full back I think the body language tells you she feels she’s a few too short here right now so you need to control this ball flight you don’t have much room between the back of the green and those grand stands look at how tight that [Music] is work to do [Music] Richard DJ cranking up the tunes this is huge needs it yeah yesterday her title charge faed on the back nine put herself back in the picture on the front nine today he got two faway bunkers down the left but it won’t be in play at all just aiming at one of those tall Flags in the distance sounded pretty strong needs a birdie really and that’s a good start yeah it’s just gone slightly rifer fortunately the last hour or so get in what a shot what about that what about that what a great finish from Ling Grant 65 special player just keeps on producing special moments Ling Grant with the grand stand finish in front of her home adoring fans a closing 65 and that is the target as things stand in the clubhouse S I don’t believe it Ling Grant’s your Champion again it’s been a horror day for Sebastian Soderberg your heart goes out to him she’s history maker again her coach Steve Jefferson on hand with the victory H Ling gr somehow has just won the the Scandinavian mixed in the most extraordinary of circumstances what do you make of that just very mixed emotions I mean um like I said before um I feel honestly terrible for Sebastian at the moment um I don’t even have words for it um I can’t imagine how he feels at the same time I’m just surprised like so surprised standing here now as a winner again uh in my hometown um amazing it will be special I’m sure I mean obviously we’re all completely shocked by by what we’ve just seen on the 18th grade but the way you played your golf today the way you went out there and laid that challenge down you were 11 shots back at the start of the day yeah I mean honestly I just Tred to go out today and and give myself the opportunity didn’t even think about that I had the chance of winning you know 11 shots it’s a it’s a huge gap so um I just wanted to go out and have fun and make as many birdies as possible and enjoy it with my brother on the bag and being at home and yeah that incredible chip in on the 80s turned out to be the winning moment and what a moment that was unbelievable um I think I celebrated good enough when I was there so um I’m not looking back at that wishing it was me on the last hole but um turned out to be an incredible day I guess and you’re making more history you were the first woman to win on the DP World Tour now you the first woman to win twice on the DP World Tour yeah amazing I mean I’m so speechless at the moment I can’t really um believe it um yeah no heart goes out to Sebastian of course but huge congratulations to you well done Jessica span the
