I dunno, i feel like there needs to be an extension signed for much lower salary with a possible bonus for playoff performance if anything. It's not like he's not a bad player, he's a great player offensively and defensively, our special teams on both sides will take a hit without him in the lineup, but the team is clearly not outperforming opponents when it counts and for the players at that cap hit it's unacceptable.
So what can Toronto do? Sit him until he's signed an extension or agreed to a trade? Muskoka Mitch is holding all the cards otherwise…
I want to see Berube get more out of Marner, plus he's in a contract year he's going to be at his best. Trade Reilly, he's useless.
Honestly keep him. I could care less about leafs and will just keep you out of the playoffs. Habs will surpass leafs next season.
