Canada’s Mackenzie Hughes Has Good Showing At National Open

Mackenzie Hughes spoke to the media after the RBC Canadian Open, where he gave a good showing in a competitive tournament.

pretty gutted um yeah I wanted this one pretty badly and uh yeah I don’t know this one this one will sting for a while I obviously got off the start I needed to get off too and um but I I just didn’t wa like besides yester yesterday I felt pretty good uh with my swing and I say the other three days I I really fought it um I just didn’t feel like I had had my stuff and um yeah it was a struggle um just to kind of get comfortable and to kind of get myself set and uh so yeah it was disappointing to finish the way I did I mean I had a chance going to that last nine and um just couldn’t put anything together so um yeah pretty pretty bummed I mean I’d say yesterday felt like you know a really fun atmosphere and today you know I felt sort of the enormity of uh you know a few of the putts I had and a few of the shots and um kind of felt like I was running out of holes at times and um that I needed to make something happen and obviously in this game you can’t really can’t really Force things or feel like you need to you know start pressing it’s it’s kind of a hard game to to be pressing and uh so I yeah I kind of felt like I just today was a bit a bit more heightened I guess and I think that um yeah kind of caught up with me there around the turn and kind of ran out his team a little bit but I mean he’s saying that I mean I had a put on 12 to get to 13 under and you know you make that who knows what the you know the story is like coming in um so it’s just one of those things you never know uh but I just didn’t quite have it today
