Is Tyler Myers going to be back in Vancouver? That’s what the latest reports are suggesting, but at how much? What would a deal involving Martin Necas look like? Matt and Blake get into that reported ask from the Carolina Hurricanes. Plus, we want to know, Canucks fans, are you actively rooting against the Edmonton Oilers, or do you not care since your team is out? Plus, we talk about Elias Pettersson being the runner-up for the Lady Byng, as well as former Canucks prospect Gustav Forsling lighting it up for the Panthers in the playoffs. We then welcome Frank Seravalli from @daily_faceoff to ask him why he has beef with the city of Vancouver, Canucks fans, as well as his take on Pettersson’s “injury” before getting into what free agents could be back in Vancouver and if the club has any appetite in trading Filip Hronek.

switches conducting things Big Show coming up all brought to you by Apple with Auto Group H to Apple with Nissan in Langley and check out the 2024 Pathfinder I did the other day have you seen the new test drive you’ll see what I saw as well Apple Nissan and Langley it’s all good at Apple I have long admired the Pathfinder in fact I think that might be my next vehicle there you go the old school ones love them yeah just gorgeous yeah booming in your Jeep well not envisioned you more as a Prius guy who Matthew yeah no stop it I don’t fit in exactly both say Vehicles looking forward to to new Pathfinder one day poll question today are you cheering against the Oilers yes no don’t care vote at secaron price Twitter or X YouTube I don’t really care I just want to see good fun entertaining hockey from here on out and as we’ve discussed all week these have been pretty good Conference Finals didn’t catch all of the game last night parts of the game I did catch didn’t seem quite as entertaining event filled as some of the earlier games in the Rangers Panther series but hey that’s a pretty high bar they’ve played some Classics here at the outset of these playoffs I never would have answered yes never would have I do want a few takes from Edmonton media oh we’re getting those oh we sure are to end up being wrong I do want that so I am cheering for that not so much against like I’ve said we’ve both been on this dry and McDavid will win a cup if they’re kept together so you know it’s a bit of an inevitability I think there and I don’t really dislike either of the players I think I think there’s been some preferential treatment to McDavid certainly but outside of that I got nothing against the players per se but I’ll be lying if I said if I saw 4-2 score line for Dallas tonight that I wouldn’t I gotta say get a little bitc I’m a little torn because there’s part of me that want to see Rangers versus Oilers which I think would probably be what the NHL wants to see as well right their Marquee player on the on the Marque Madison Square Garden you know not to mention there’s a bunch of cross-pollination between those franchises in the past right I mean it’s true’s two best players ever GM um yeah all of it and also I think it would be mistake ridden yeah high scoring hockey too there’s that I mean McDavid and dry Sidle against one of the best go Tenders in the world and shurin like yeah there there’s a lot of storylines to that series um plus I got to say you know looking in and watching Edmonton and the Edmonton media Chronicle all all of this is a Fascination in its own regard and we’ll get to some of that here in our opening block I picked Dallas there’s part of me that wants to see Dallas win because I think I like to see good management rewarded and my God has Jim nil the former Vancouver KCK player that is done a hell of a job in constructing that Hockey Club you know you watch them play and the goals that they get through their top nine the way they’ve gone about constructing the defense which is a little thin particularly with injury now uh and the Go I mean the one draft with hinan and AER and Robertson and and I mean that goes down with some of the best drafts of all time for by a club and now you add Stan koven and um who am I missing there W Johnson W John John I mean they’re they’re annoyingly good now and they’re not going away no no so now I I don’t feel any Affinity to Florida per se but I gotta say I love I love listening to Paul Maurice and he had another Zinger again last night when told they were only credited for One giveaway in the hockey game and he sort of scoffed at that and then asked who was it was told it was Zach blad oh he’s out and quit yeah and I gotta hand it to Maurice um I had a conversation with an NHL coach I forget how long ago now I believe Paul Maurice was still in Winnipeg and the conversation was along the lines of like why is this guy getting all these opportunities his teams don’t play with discipline and they’re not all that defense that defensively detailed either two of the things that coaches can control right and I didn’t dispute that but I told said coach it’s in part because of the way he interacts with people he is an exceptional Communicator he’s funny he’s cheery you got so many doubt like look at and I go oh my God like she so D there’s so many NHL coaches that just want to be D and for me Maurice is a breath of fresh air and I’ll give his Lord of teams credit they play with defensive detail for a guy that I’ve been told is not a big X as an O’s guy that isn’t oh he’ll never win boy he does a lot of winning he does an awful lot of winning and I’ll say this about the Panthers team too and you can hate to play against them every body would have a Matthew kachuck on their team in a New York minute par in the pun he’s just he’s a great quote too I heard him after the game the other day yep um talking about leadership he gave this great answer about but know veteran was the word used by the reporter and he said I’ve got a problem with the word veteran he’s like we’re only in our mid 20s but we’ve been in the league for eight years so I think we’re veterans too you know like you you don’t have to have a three in front of your name to be a veteran anymore right so um it’s just it’s a thoughtful guy and he he can be rat-like out there but my goodness is he exciting um a lot of fun what’s happening could have been a Canuck oie you Levy baby yeah right they also have another player on there that could have been a k yeah and I also like the pressure that Florida puts teams under um I I enjoy watching that style of hockey as well so yeah the Conference Finals have been very good let’s hope they keep it up okay of the Vancouver conu we get to our top story presentation of Mr Lube Martin HS the Carolina Winger available via trade RFA to be looking for a big payday and looking for a roll increase and tsn’s Darren Dreger reporting that Carolina is looking for a top three to four defenseman in return for Martin HS I gotta say when I saw that ask I thought wo that’s a little less than I would have expected now I know he wants to get paid so and with the cap going up you’re you’re going to be on the hook for a good salary here by the same token I think you know some of those offensive totals could still improve from here when you take a look at the team he plays on who he plays with who he plays Below in the lineup so he’s an intriguing player of that there’s no doubt and it would absolutely fit the Vancouver conects bill for a scoring Winger to play alongside Liz patteron a number three to number four defenseman and Blake I don’t believe they are gonna trade Philip ronic I don’t believe they I wouldn’t personally trade Philip ronic unless I’m bold over but if they’re looking for a three to four defenseman could you get an HS and something for Philip R well that would be the question is that an overpay then for the conects just ronic one for one I think so for sure it’s an overpay top pair right shot defenseman is worth more than a top six Winger unless that top six Winger is you know yeah COV pass next somebody in that realm and and NS is not that guy um and of course there’s the contract consideration for NS as well right so you don’t really know the cost unless they I’m not sure you’re getting ahead financially put it that way I think the difference between him and ronic would be negligible but if it also comes with your your suggest Justin andami in that Ness well I think that would be a bridge too far for them yeah but something else and it’s a deep organization Blake um they have done a terrific job of drafting and developing like you’re not going to get that nikan young defenseman because he’s probably a top 10 Prospect in the world right now but I think he can get a second piece Ryan Suzuki is probably not going to Japan out I don’t think so not suzuk no no um it’s probably wouldn’t be Morrow he’s going to be stepping in on the right side on defense there he’s another good young Prospect but yeah I mean there there are options there for for sure um or or or do you do something just for the now rather than the future you know is just Tak like yes per fast off their who who can play um now older final year of his contract yeah that’s for the now uh the other thing is is Carolina tends to do this be competitive year in year out without peeling a ton of draft picks they have every single one of their picks and two bonus six rounders in this upcoming draft they’re without third rounders next year the year after they’re without a fifth rounder next year um I understand the Canucks are not in the business of collecting draft picks right now that they’re looking to do more work at the end Club level but it’s it’s not like you say no to draft picks if they’re attached or young players they pretty good Reserve list in Carolina too so you know prospects who are still unsigned maybe the kid they took out of the bchl in the first round n do you know I I’m just throwing things out there because if that is the ask for that level of player then that is a very very interesting Target for the Canucks as they seek for the as they seek the Alias pson solution and maybe the second bit as we say it’s Ness and maybe the second bit of something that you just swing around and help you acquire the right the next defenseman and and it’s not that the cans have a lot of bad contracts on the books but maybe that’s getting rid of a a contract you don’t want anymore right does it become does it become ronic and mck for an NHS and maybe even something else there too anyways my my mind started to work drift towards the concoctions the possibilities here yeah when I heard Dreer say they’re only looking for that level of defenseman need a tire change or Tire Service Mr Loop provides no appointment tire service and sales drop by any time for rotation repair balancing servicing all makes and models including electric vehicles 16 locations in the Lower Mainland for one near you go to Mr lube.com I mean the other thing and car has done a little bit of this um you know take on Reclamation projects of other teams well you could take on re Reclamation projects of that team like if they have run out of patience with the asaro andem maybe you just make this deal bigger period I mean I’m just I’m looking at Brendan Lemieux Maxim comtois Ty Smith you know Tony D’Angelo a couple of times they have taken on Reclamation projects on top of y everything else that they do so yeah as you’ll hear later in the show with sarahi Vancouver Carolina two of the more interesting and one would suspect two of the more active franchises this off season with a lot of inhouse business to do not to mention long hard looks in the mirror here’s where we got how do we get to the next step and of course Vancouver is doing that for the first time Carolina’s doing that for the the een teth time after being a perennial playoff team and and not getting past that conference final level uh our dear friend David qu quadrelli the editor-in chief of Canucks Army the quad father the host of kak’s conversation they record their show right here in this studio sometimes David cadelli messes with my chair but we’ve litigated that in the past they make a green in here which is irking when I come in after their show and is green they don’t always clean up after themselves it must be said nevertheless do like them uh he’s penned a piece on Canucks Army KS army.com walk away numbers for the Vancouver Canucks which is a good story idea we’ve talked a little bit about this perly already and every single one you can look at them in isolation or you can look at them in context it is sometimes harder to bring in the assorted context but we’ll do our utmost here Nikita Zora off 5 years $6 million per five years at six million five years at six million he says is the walkway number yeah five years takes him to age 34 which is something I would be willing to live with that part is fine if it’s five at five and a half I’m I’m I’m in lock step with him you’re at five time five and a half I’m still listening yep five at five I’m signing it five at five and a half I’m listening Tyler Myers three at three million per um I would love it to yeah to to me that’s too much on a three-year deal yeah so I’m with him I’d walk it away yeah 27525 I’m I’m thinking about it yeah Ian Cole one year 1.25 million 1.25 he’s walking away yeah I mean that that’s quibbles and bits there because at one you’re probably fine right so we’re talking about 250k you usually don’t walk away you just said you’re walking away on Myers over that’s over three years though that’s almost a million bucks right so frankly I would I’m not walking away at uh with Cole on that number I gu I’m saying I could St it yeah because here’s why um if you don’t resign zidor off you want a left side third pair guy I think Ian Cole could and I would want some cover there I would want another defenseman who’ be able to play there so your Seven’s got to be pretty good um or at least playable but that’s something I can and then you fix it in season like you know come the trade deadline you look at it and go okay in call is done Yan’s work uh but he’s a limited player we love what he does in the room um now we’re going to go out and him and he’s going to be a spare defenseman if we’re fully healthy you do have to look at what he made this year because you have to see the savings and then three so but he’s 35 right but still like he’s gonna be at least a portion of his this year and to save almost two million bucks on that yeah that seems pretty intriguing so I would go there with Cole the first one I disagree with on quads Philip ronic eight years eight million uh definitely walk I’m walking away before that so yeah and this is the one where we disagree because I I would go there you would do this contract yeah yeah yeah I would for all the asserted reasons that we have talked about yeah because the cost of replacing him on the first pair with a guy who you don’t know works as well with Hughes is going to be around that anyway or you get worse there and for me part of the Vancouver con formula why they were a good team a Division champion team is they finally fixed the top right side defenseman beside Quin Hughes the devil you know better is absolutely who hasn’t worked with Quin Hughes because he’s had a great partner his entire career right so why the fear who who worked best with Quinn Hughes who got Quinn Hughes to a level whereby he’s likely to be named the NHL’s best I’m not ready to credit Philip ronic for that I think this was a a a a uh the first season yeah they were probably the best defense pair in the NHL right yeah so to me there is a substantial difference between that and a Chris tanif working Luke Shen Luke Shen Noah julon working because when those guys were on the ice you weren’t playing a lot of Defense because you had the puck on your stick so much and were in the other Zone scoring goals so to me it’s it’s almost like a your your four-point game if you will it’s not just the two points you get it’s the two points you don’t lose yeah I’m not willing to compare 19-year-old Quinn Hughes with current Quinn Hughes and performance with with fair enough well there is a natural progression you do agree that you need to play him with a offensively inclined defenseman who’s good with the puck on his stick and can shoot some right I think you need to play him with a good skater I don’t think you need to play him with an offensiv League okay I think you need to play him with a good skater and to me that’s where we disagree because to me a lot of the kuu success was built on the fact that they were able to score goals and score goals with the defense and particularly that top pair being big contributors for half a season the other half of the Season hurt like who he wasn’t hurt oh please don’t give me that well uh here here’s here’s the point Hughes really was there a down tick if you look hard enough there’s a small down tick in the half in the back half of the Season yeah there was yeah incremental incremental down tick for him massive Cliff for Philip ronic so I think that proves the point that you don’t need the offensively inclined defenseman because ronic didn’t become that he just became a good skater he wasn’t pushing the the offense didn’t shoot for months weeks so I I dealing with a right an elbow right but that proves the point that as long as it’s just a a a season skater that’s going to work with with Quinn Hughes and I’m not willing to blow the budget for that but you say blow the budget where are you otherwise spending your money well on a defenseman that is a little bit more balance maybe a little bit more um a little bit cheaper a $6 million defense okay but who is that that’s playing 24 minutes a night well you explore that and you find out if peshi and Montour and find out what their costs are and as I said that’s the beauty here the knucks don’t need to make this trade if they have to make a trade because they find they’re at an impath they don’t have to make it before July 1 they’re in control that brings up the other problem he’s not worth as much as you think he’s worth on the trade market because he’s going in the final year before unrestricted free agency with arbites like if he had four years left on his deal and you thought the second half ronic is closer to the reality going forward than the first half ronic but he’s got a tradable contract and someone’s going to give us something substantial back I I’m I’m With You Blake but you’re I just don’t think you’re going to be able to reap a top pair right side all situations defenseman by pedaling a guy who either the other team has to give a boatload of money too or resign themselves to the fact that he’s going to be UFA anyer other teams are in better cap condition than the Vancouver Canucks are other teams are more desperate for defenseman of any sort um than the Vancouver Canucks are and you know you can’t have it both ways either the injury was an excuse or it wasn’t and if we’re buying that if we’re going to take your stance that the injury was an excuse then you’re getting a full year to negotiate with a spectacular right shot defenseman I think most teams would be lining up for that would you uh go to ARB accept whatever it is and see what happens next year um no that’s unpalatable usually for management groups but is there anything about the specific situation of ronic that would lead you down that path now arbitration is not to longest right so you’ve got again the time here so if you spend the first 10 days of free agency going oh there is nothing out there defensively for us then no I think you negotiate in Earnest over the next month and avoid arbitration but just just to be clear you acknowledge you don’t know that pesi or Montour works with Hughes you would be hoping pesi and Montour works with Hughes because others have worked with hu that’s correct that’s the underpinning logic and they played on they’ve both played on Elite teams yeah with Elite with Elite uh line mates fairing mates yeah I I’m just I’m willing to pay for the known I go into my rotisserie baseball drafts Every Spring and go I’m going to go out and get the eight-year starting pitcher who I know is probably around a four a rather than banking on the young guy that I hope one day gets that that’s just the way I’m woring but what’s known we we saw we saw the lot line reunited add nauseum throughout the season to no effect no not throughout the season yeah well and and they were nowhere clear to what their historic highs were Teddy bler reunited with with Joshua and Garland let me ask you guys this do you subscribe to the alven theory that honic has to be able to drive his own pairing if he wants to get paid that much so I think that’s a very um useful thing for a general manager to say in the uh on the cusp of a contract negotiation I I I uh philosophic Al I agree but I also know that my coaching staff thought that Hughes and ronic work so well together that we did not see them we see them split like more than once this like they didn’t split them at all this year so My coaching staff is pretty clear on the matter they think those two guys together gives their Club the best best chance of winning and frankly I think they’re right because take a look at the evidence of this past year so I I think that’s something that alven and the Canucks will say to ronic and his agent well he played second fiddle on our top pair it’s not like he was the driver on the second pair and um I’m just not sure it will resonate because it’s a market forces are in play here supply and demand and Allan Walsh and Philip pronic know full well who has the leverage did Brendan Morrison Drive play on the west west coast Express I wouldn’t say he drove play but he was the perfect fit for the group right he was the creator yeah yeah chemistry the line would not have been what it was if you did not have a past first playmaker in the middle but that he was perfect for the big power forward and for the shooter they were pretty good with castles who was also a passent so it’s just you know if it fills a need it fills a need for you and you’re willing to pay Z zackman is the wing here’s my point a great great call on the west coast Express play if you would Dro Jeff Carter or Jer Jeremy ronic or a shoot first centerman on that line probably doesn’t work as well right but conversely great players all three of them but the chemistry would not have been there because brusi is not setting things up for the most most part and Marcus wants to shoot at his fair share as well also conversely if you drop Brandon Morrison with I don’t know who is on there the the team who wants and Trent clatt you know they wouldn’t nearly have been as good either right so he’s he’s not driving play but it works but but use a playmake like a VOR or some of these guys who want to playmake off the wing you you put Morrison with them it’s not GNA work as well all fine players yeah Devon Taves in Colorado were you gonna take him off expect him to drive his own pairs Sam Gerard filling in and stepping up to that level a great point and that was a Stanley Cup winning pair right yeah and frankly I think you’re going to see more of that going forward that Stanley Cup teams not only have the depth one two through Center Ice oftentimes one2 three through Stan rice but have that great pair I mean we’ve seen it Chicago Keith and SE Brook when Brent before Brent started piling up the injuries I mean there was that one year Chicago played like three or four damn defenseman in the entire Stanley Cup playoffs and won the cup and Bren CBR wasn’t about to drive a pairing either by the way you know that was Duncan Keith we what do we mean when we say Drive appearing help me Define this for the Magic The Magic starts with that with that particular player if okay and is the magic if good things are GNA happen Zone exits clean Zone entries and then offensive threat once you’re in the zone it’s going to be a totality of things but the but but where where the strength of the pairing lies where if you extract that guy the pairing really doesn’t have a ton going forward that’s that guy so if if you’re telling me driving pairings means clean Zone exits clean Zone entries offensive threat once you get there and good defensive Zone coverage yeah I think ronic can do that here not to the level of use of course not we’ve got a unicorn here but I think he can do that when healthy yes here’s the thing within reason you can play anybody with Quinn Hughes and the numbers will be respectable that’s right that’s right but that’s not what you’re aiming for you don’t want respectable you want great no great but that’s about driving play though in terms of what drives play you can play anybody with Hughes and there’s it’s only going to get so bad yeah that’s not the case I don’t think with Philip pronic I think you could you could play a couple guys with them and it’s going to be a terrifier oh well I yes Philip ronic is not so individually blessed with talent that if you th tomato cam aside him he’s gonna look great and just decision making I’ve seen I’ve seen poor decisions from him but okay so let’s play it out their second pair left side Carson Susi I think I would be fine with that uh yeah I don’t think it’s your optimal deployment but if if if for whatever reason they had a top pair right side defenseman drop in and play Above ronic and ronic had to play with Susi I I’d be fine with that that’s that’s gonna be at worst it’s not happening League average but I don’t think it’s going to be a top second pairing in the league though no that’s probably fair but that’s in some ways some would say sus is a little overcast at second pair that on a really good team that he’s the third pair guy and it I mean it depends how you slice up your pie right like there’s only so cap dollars available and of course we’ve seen so many so few increases in the cap that teams are having to sort of figure it out a little differently then I think they will going forward here and of course cap is going up this year and I know he has skepticism Beyond this year but I I think it’s going to be going up by healthy margins for several years now uh a L home seven years at 7 million per uh I to me that I’m signing that are you yeah I’m signing that I think that that would Age really well I think in three years time while you might be concerned about what linol is I think 7 million it’s not gonna be crazy and here’s one where in isolation I’d sign that as well but the context for me is I want to know what I’m doing on defense before I commit that money yep yeah that’s true so you want to have Miller and lindome down the middle who are over 30 at those prices for seven years well he’s going to be your third line Winger the third line Center you know to some degree this is mood and academic as the last lome is not signing here to be a third line Center but I and he’s yeah that’s a lot of money down the middle and I and I know it’s a strong position you build around but I just wonder with yeah the Aging curves with those two guys I think in three or four years time you’re not going to be saying that about seven million though if the cap does go up yeah Dakota Joshua three years at 3.5 per no not doing that I’m walking way for sure yes I’m in agreement walking away so am I I really want to love Dakota Joshua as a player and on nights when he’s gone boy do I ever yeah exactly the problem is it’s just not consistent enough like he had to be encouraged motivated to get in better shape at the beginning of the year by talk it which for me was not a great sign you know kid youve played one year in the NHL that doesn’t mean you’re a made guy that was not a great sign to me now we credit to him for doing what was asked of him getting in better shape playing better as the year went along found terrific chemistry with Connor Garland really like the way those two work and of course at one point one point in time with Teddy Luger not exactly a gifted offensive centerman which looks even better on him and then with Alias lhol um I know they want him to play tougher because he’s one of the bigger guys they have I thought the fight in Chicago was pure idiocy and called cost him 20 games and then it was awesome that he played those terrific game ones against Nashville in Edmonton but then just sort of seeped into the into the proceedings you know wasn’t active enough wasn’t consistent enough given that incist one and a half to two great games in a seven game series is need a little more so I would let somebody else pay him and as Alvine said find the next Dakota Joshua even even though I’d sweat it a little bit because you know having that great third line for big part of the season was another he was 800 Grand driver of success I would triple his salary I’m not quadrupling his salary okay so that’s two four going three years on two four yeah I would do that I would even I might even go to three Here Blake I would go three three three three no way he’s getting he’s signing two4 no no probably not so that’s what I’m saying I I walk away at something that begins with the 3 the consistency was not there and and you put on your best case here you go Dakota we’re the organization that basically Al launched you as an NHL player you got better here and you will continue to get better here under Rick toet but here’s where we need you to fit in salary cap wise to continue your improvement and progression as an NHL and for you to win with this organization I could go to 275 make the plea this is the downside of the salary cap for the fans and media covering is that it makes you make these harsh decisions on players that you would gleefully have on your team I gleefully would have Dakota Joshua on my team y yep but you you have only so many credits to Dole out on a year-by-year basis and you have to decide who’s taking how many credits and there you know that’s effectively the exercise here with this column is how many credits you willing to Dell out to each of these pieces and eventually you have to just say I love you but I can’t right lez Pon finishes a second for the lady Bing trophy behind Carolina well way behind Carolina’s Jacob slaven who wins the award for a second time uh this is a a word that sometimes gets slagged but you know frankly I find myself St sticking up for the lady Bing the respect well if you if your sport has honor yeah right if it’s supposed to be played in a sporting way and sometimes we lose sight of that in the playoffs where it’s win at all costs we had an NHL player Brad Maran say that you know it’s about going out and injuring players well some of us perhaps uh naively think it could and should be played you know within the boundaries within the rules so uh second place he got 13 first place votes he edged Austin Matthews for second place he was only two but they were distance second and third very distant oh they were a very distant second and third yeah yeah um besser finished 16th here yeah he did right he got third fourth and fifth place votes bilam MAV got two second place votes mhm and that’s the problem when you aren’t going to the dirty areas thater Demco got a vote did you vote on that was this a professional I I did was that you no it’s not uh I’m actually just looking up my ballot now that chmo getting rewarded because he didn’t go Ron hexall on somebody in the corner like what what’s so Grady here’s my ballot I voted kale marar Alias Pon Braden Point Austin Matthews yesper brat I guess I missed the winner uh defenseman don’t usually pop to mind for this award but they should and particularly when they play the amount of minutes that a guy like Mar played or slaven as well and don’t have a lot of penalties like that’s a skill skill we used to talk about with tanif all the time right like how few penalties he took primary penalty killer defensive St ster and he’s never in the box like that’s coach’s dream stuff yeah slaven I think is the first multi uh lady Bing defenseman okay I think so I think patteron will win this award one day yeah because the other thing we’ve seen is like he’s got concern for injured players on the other team on the ice we’ve seen that a couple of times in his short career where in skating by he checks on a player prone on the ice um what are we doing here with the awards by the way are we announcing them all so we’re not announcing them all we’re announcing a number of them we are going to keep some surprise for what John Shannon tells us will be a 30 minute quickie NHL awards show after the end of the cup final and before the draft the other thing and this is something we missed no I know very strange um this is something we missed in flagging um when talking about the Stanley Cup SCH SCH a final schedule and the fact that game seven would go June 24th with the draft on the 28th and the award show presumably the 26th to the 27th in Vegas if you’re the manager or a scout for the Stanley Cup champion you may be unable to attend the Stanley Cup parate because of work duties and to me that’s the huge miss here as much as your inconvenience inconveniencing the audience not to mention losing Audience by playing it as late as you are and having two days between games which again has the silver lining of fresher players but every single member of the Stanley Cup champion should be able to experience the Stanley Cup Parade two to three days later without having to worry about giving up a competitive Advantage by not being in the draft City my guess is to me that’s absolute horeshit guess is they wouldn’t let anybody uh miss it but they would have to have a uh Charter standing by well a no they would they would have to because you’re not you don’t need to necessarily be in the the draft H City two days in advance well yeah two nights maybe but you could fly that night and you also can the parade is GNA be minimum two days away that would be Quicky too there’s usually three to four yeah but I think you you take part in something early like there’s a start and finish line to the to the um to the thing and I mean let’s face it Scouts aren’t prominent on the Stanley Cup Parade anyway but no Blake it’s not about their prominent it’s about them getting to experience that day like that’s where all their hard work is paying off the night you win the cup and then when your city when your community toasts you okay but so let’s paint the picture youve got memories that last a lifetime for you and your family being at a championship parade let’s paint the picture they’re working all day at the office the Parade’s going on you know the co Scouts aren’t in a in in the parade anyway no no no Blake everybody in their organization participates in a championship parade but they’re in a car driving down the street in some cases they’re in cars yes in other cases they’re at the stage area partying with several hundred thousand friend so hear me out they are working diligently at the office in the the rank here is the war room if you will um for while the cars are driving down the street they prescribed a time at 1:00 we’re going to hit the stage come join us on the stage so they leave no they they want us but they want to participate in the entirety of the event you just told me and in some cases they are in the cars well then you do one buses you do one or the other so you work okay now it’s time to go to the parade everyone goes and has the parade yeah you spend two hours at the parade and then you go catch parades are way more than two hours I know but what I’m saying is Matt you don’t need to participate in all seven hours of it if you get there for two hours of it not the end of world in my world that’s one of the rewards like in my world you shouldn’t have to make a decision between should I participate in our Stanley Cup Parade or should I go back in into that room and watch some more film on the left Winger from magnor okay well conversely and remember I’m not defending the schedule because I think the start early and should this this cup should be done but in this the last thing I’m going to be complaining about is the 12 Scout on the team not being able to spend more than two hours at the parade don’t care I’m not gonna get no but but their colleagues do care the general man their head Scout cares about his SK the general manager or the AGM should care about the people in their charge and their ability to be rewarded and celebrate a championship as equals I don’t think he I don’t think they care that they’re not spending the whole time there I really don’t experience it absolutely I would disagree to me that’s a once in a-lifetime thing you want everybody to be able to experience it holistically um the Vancouver Canucks are going to wear the Flying V again everybody you know why because when NBA players start showing up at the arena in an at an elimination game no less where in the Flying V you know it’s fashion forward again you know it’s making a comeback Canadian nikel Alexander Walker guard Minnesota Timberwolves rocking a Dave Tiger Williams number 22 Canuck Flying V on his way to the arena last night where they get absolutely destroyed by Dallas that game was freaking over early I was telling Blake I got to the TV I’m like oh I’m gonna check in on the basketball game oh it’s 2910 that’ll be that um it was almost 40 when I checked in on it was it oh God this is what we need influencers from other walks of life to Clue the Canucks and the NHL that guess what Flying V it’s back every fashion is cyclical everything comes back he wore well like it looked it looked really good on him and the yellow in case you’re it was the yellow fly it wasn’t even the black one um yeah it was something else and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not the last time he wears it that was a statement jpack got it right years ago Halloween game at home you wear the flying be they had an opportunity but you got to wear the yellows for if it’s especially it’s on Halloween because that’s a fall color you wear the yellow going back to the parade talk will the Edmonton media be joining in the Stanley Cup Parade if they win at this point perhaps do they get their on float or bus or invertible maybe spack I mean he covered all those 80s teams right are they going for their ring sizes right now I think he’s referencing the Jason Gregor tweet is that what is that what I’m hearing did you want to get to that here Grady I guess it’s a segue into it so uh the Edmonton media is quite sore at Kevin baxa for calling them the Edmonton meet why meat again Raw dead and D it’s a little harsh uh so Jason Greger and who I quite like yeah friend of the show he is tweets Mark Messier seven Stanley Cup finals and six rings says nurse needs to look at himself and play through it Darnell of course Ken bexa won seven playoff series HCK shot at media about plus minus when nurse wasn’t even asked about it a Champion’s approach and Outlook are much different um I think the hey if bexa was off and I didn’t hear the full context and and if plus minus I mean I I saw plus minus certainly a storyline on social media and this I hate when this gets conflated just because fans are twittering about a certain something doesn’t mean media are talking about it so I think that’s maybe where be be EXO went wrong here is that he conflated no social media chat of the plus minus certainly ran wild except they were grilling nurse his performance and apparently not though apparently not so um they were certainly talking to him about his performance right but I don’t think they were talking to him about the Antiquated plus minus I just want to know if Messier was on magic mushrooms when he uttered that had that story earlier in the week look at the replies perspective 394 but but there you go there Matt seven times Stanley Cup seven Stanley Cup appearances final six wins and mushrooms be EXA no cups no shrooms that we know of should have been on the shrooms maybe it’s just that I know you keep telling me that Gustaf forsling is not the one that got away but damn it I watch him play and I think oh he certainly is the one that got away I just I’m not going to jump up and down say why didn’t they see it he has the most even strength points through three games of the through five games of the Eastern Conference Final he’s making 5.75 million for the next seven years he’s 27 years old the kcks traded him for Adam Clen Denning but any Solace they weren’t the only ones who missed on forcing Chicago traded him toh to Carolina in a four-player deal that involved Calvin Dean Carolina waved him and he was picked up by Florida in January of 2021 Chicago saw him in parts of three Seasons playing half the season each one of those Seasons at the NHL level like Chicago got a real look at Gustaf forsling and still said no not for us so you know that proves that Heck if they’re saying no after 130 games of him I’m hardly gonna blame the Canucks for not seeing it in seeing no games of him at the NHL level I just there there’s part of me that’s astonished that a canx you know late round pick uh kind of small not sure he’s an NHL player coming over from Sweden castoff is playing an outsize role in the Eastern Conference Final well I if you I’m just I’m still having trouble with this and Adam Clen Denning is in SM Liga yeah and to be fair there were uh media people who at the time of that trade went don’t quite like this believe forsling has some upside here you just have to be patient with him he weighed 11 pounds at the time of the trade like he was so undersized there were a lot of believe hey most every marker suggested this wasn’t going to be an NHL player but those who watched him closely or who had sourcing that watched him closely thought there was a pathway thought the conu gave up a little too early on them and then retrospect they did T you don’t you don’t have to go very far on the Florida Panther’s lineup to have some wonders about the Vancouver kaks not again and not saying kak forsling oel oel Lockwood is Lockwood playing no he no but not in the playoffs but he’s play 26 games and Jonah gadit too Roberto Ango in management right I would say really the only one that actually stings is Matthew K that’s the only one that actually SS for me Chris tanov another former Canucks defenseman game time decision for game five Dallas and Edmonton Pete dor their head coach says he’s optimistic Dallas is getting run out of defenseman here a little bit I mean first of all they’re only playing Five on most nights any kind of significant minutes secondly Yanni hakena is still not healthy so they can’t drop him in Blake they have told Liam bixel a first round draft pick from a couple of years back a big Swiss defenseman be ready kid if tanif can’t go you’re dropping in for your first NHL game kid 66 235 don’t leave your own Zone first round pick 2022 18th overall uh just at the end of this year sorry I shouldn’t say at the end of this year earlier in the year played his first ever games on North American ice 16 of them with the Texas Stars before being loaned back to Roga in the Swedish League I let me correct that don’t go past the Ringette L he’s known as a defensive defenseman to begin with he’s not put up huge Point totals outside of like the Swiss Junior League so I don’t know this kid from Adam but I’m just basically Le you play second goenda feeling I just get the Vibes that he’s gonna step on the ice and be like shaking at the knees of like oh my God what is happening McDavid is coming down on me at speed see how many games did Chris t play in the 2011 Run for the Canucks uh good number a handful right yeah but the guy showed no pulse ever so it was it was perfect you remember the bxa line the like the lit cigarette the corner he could go in the corner and the cigarette would come out lit uh he played five yeah for the 20 yeah no you get the puck on your stick pixel just look for S riro and get them the puck as quickly as possible try to hit the scoreboard with a flip out every single time exct we’ll take the dead Puck we can get a change and that’s with Neil’s lqu who they traded a first round know I know boy did he boy did he fall this year huh he was playing for them early in the year and and then 12 playoff games yeah yeah parlay challenge time games. dailyfaceoff.com each and every night you sign up it takes seconds you sign up you get a bunch of menu items dropped at you prop bets on the game you answer them nightly winners win gift cards round winners win cash how it takes seconds and you guys fully jinxed me yesterday screw you guys um many out of eight one oh gr oh geez Grady you’ve got G you’ve got parlay challenge for the final you you guys were telling me how consistent I was and how I was staying in the game making a change it’s because of performance Grady sass you’re in for parlay challeng you’re putting in Calvin picker back there come on placement level at this stage of the game I am so down on Skinner I’m going now I know how Skinner feels one bad goal all of a sudden uh I went all in like I didn’t I didn’t try to tow I went for the Panthers there like I was very you were hard on the Rangers I was hard against the Rangers in favor of the Panthers yes and still lost Florida won the game yeah but just not in the man of how the hell did we lose when we had the I expected a high high scoring game with everybody hitting overs remember that didn’t happen uh tonight a little bit more Cy with it I think uh taking the Stars to win on the money line uh taking the under being more conservative there uh first goal I’m given to the o to get off to the good start and Dallas to come back I’ve been burned by the first period high scoring a lot of the nights I’m switch it up I’m gonna go third as the highest scoring period highkin an assists on the over McDavid assists on the Ender because they always give him one and a half uh zackman goals on the under Wyatt Johnson goals on the under I don’t think those are your goal scorers tonight there you go games. daily face off.com menu today brought to you by Greta 50 West Cordova we’ve been telling you all season long great place to watch the game and of course do you see that that’s all they’re doing is fighting in the stance among themselves they’ve actually started a cheer at the outdoor viewing party I’ve noticed remember in the con series they’d constantly pan to that thing and there’d be like after a goal it be like six people with their hands in the air yeah they look a little bit more into it now uh we’ll go to the people as well and work Edmonton Mr Frank sell I gotta get paid a lot more for that Jo that’s gonna be the case joins a couple of douches here in Vancouver took the words out of my mouth like you want to show them how rich we are huh oh man the F your house I would love to borrow a Fiverr if I could right anyways the hell’s wrong with you all in good fun is what I would say it wasn’t taken as good fun here we got some really sore butts here including one in the producers B well but Grady always has one so that’s okay that’s true um yeah hey I spend a ton of time in Vancouver and I loved it I’m just more making fun of some of the uh the test Porsche whatever crowd that you see driving around that live in very fancy places expensive the F-150s are now they’re the same price as those cars well yeah well that that too the uh the I it’s just a different vibe that’s all yes it is a different vibe have you not encountered the Alberta oil money yet I I realized it’s more pronounced in Calgary than Edmonton but like those guys wipe their ass with $100 bills well that’s the funny thing though but they don’t feel the need to tell you or show you and I think that’s the difference that was the quot quote douche Factor if we’re being honest right there’s something about having money and not flaunting it whereas in Vancouver it just seems to be right in front of you slapping you in the face whatever street corner you turn on have you not been to like La New York San Francisco like I have but I’m consider where I’m from always in your face yeah I I don’t live in any of those places so I it’s that’s just not what I’m used to so you’re telling me Phillies come a long way from the Randolph and Mortimer years of Trading Places back in the day it’s yeah it’s as Blue Collar union labor a city as you can come from okay we also can’t have it both ways we talk about all the time how the DuPont are from Philly are they not from Delaware actually we talk about it all the time how there’s no traffic on Fridays because people just don’t work here on Fridays uh we talk about how rush hours at three because people leave work every day early here so we can’t have it both ways and the every man is being squeezed out in van it’s just the every is being squees it out in Pro Sports just about everywhere Frank it is really really sad when you look at ticket prices now and who can and can’t afford that’s that’s who I am though like not for nothing like one half of my family Works in construction and if I wasn’t a hockey reporter I’d be standing over a ditch watching water means and putting in water means if I was you know the other side of my family I’d be a police officer like that’s just what we are so I’m not uh just I’m not making fun of anyone if the every man that’s that’s what I’m from though and I did see you you took it back a little bit or you me a couple done your show yeah it wasn’t intended to be a DI or or I hate Vancouver or anything like nothing like that at all it was just a pure comparison of the two cities and also like a pure radio clip if there ever was one like lat schme was was helping lead the charge in terms of his distaste for the Vancouver market and I just happened to pile on yeah also 10 years ago 10 years ago that no one would have heard that but now yeah sound goes viral just do me a favor don’t judge us on all the Teslas okay because that’s getting a little too close to trip Tracy Boulevard and what I love about the Hurricanes this year is I see a lot of pickup trucks in the players lot I trip is also closely related to the CEO of Ford so that might have something to do with it yeah you know you know what didn’t go viral didn’t realize all these years later you know what didn’t go viral in Edmonton rafy Torres on this show yes picked the Canucks to win and then was cranking the siren for the Oilers in an Oiler Jersey like three games later so ra he sort of knew he told us I’m going to Edmonton he knew he had to play it a little political he said hey I’m on a Vancouver show I’ll you gotta consider the audience um I’ve see you’ve uh done some reporting and commentary on this but uh wow the exit media session last week with Pon toet and Alvine what did you make of it well there’s a lot to pick at that’s for sure um and I still don’t really quite understand the peton part of it I mean we could relitigate that if you want but his his agent who’s also an attorney was interestingly enough acknowledge that at no point in the playoffs did Alias pon feel the need to even see a doctor how how hurt was he my my point was and I’ve talked to multiple people about this since this came out the Canucks are first off are not Liars uh second they don’t let people take bullets unnecessarily they were I think Jaws on the ground floor to hear pet and try and blame part of his issues and play this second half of the season on the knee think about what it says about the team if if he actually was injured like let’s unpack it the other way which is so he practiced he played and then you told everyone that he wasn’t hurt multiple times in fact and then now all of a sudden he he was in injured I think they were really surprised to hear it I think it was a cop out to the nth degree and look people had tweeted me back and said oh well but he acknowledged that he was quote well that’s great but then leave it at just that so why is it okay the other way around for Philip ronic to say I’m not injured and I didn’t play well yet that was more problematic to observers than peton going the exact other way do you think it was the ju position between py and Hughes and ronic and others not acknowledging anything that um made some ripples with the Canucks as well yeah but why like why was one player getting more more criticism than the other it should have been the other way around it should have been the other guy who wasn’t really injured that wanted to blame it on an injury versus the guy that came out and said hey I I’m there was nothing wrong with me and I just didn’t play well and I didn’t if I had an answer I would have provided one for you yet Phil Arona got more criticism why is that what what’s the thought process I’m just like you you take me inside I I I think uh well Philip R was obviously injured everybody who had laid eyes on him saw him bandaged up so and for him to of all bold face look people in the eye and say I was not injured everybody knows that’s not the case right so I I I think but he’s saying no excuse like I I I’m not hurt I honestly Frank I think this somewhat comes with the territory when you completely disavow media for the entire season and so fans don’t really feel like they know you all that much think you maybe a bit of a mercenary particularly when you hear of the contract uh demands or at least the contract expectations there plus you know he got really snippy with a couple of guys in local media so um you I think it was out stop being butt hurt like like no offense like and and you could say that to me about whatever you want the like the second you as media walk into any press conference thinking that someone owes you something is the second you’re getting it wrong well but can you throw the why are you so butt hurt at ronic like why so insulted why is he snippy I mean you could say that about any player that’s snippy in any media interview when you follow it up with we’re just trying to get you to answer questions because we left you alone all year well like I’m not pointing this at jpad or any one person you know I love everyone in the Vancouver media Corp and they were so welcoming to me when I was there all playoffs my point is that’s on you first off for not continuing to go after that all season long and second he doesn’t owe you anything no one no player no executive no coach owes you anything that’s how I view the media work in this field there’s just Sav there’s just Savvy veterans who know how to answer that question who know how to say I’m not gonna I’m not gonna talk about my my health status uh that’s not not an excuse for anything that I that happened but that’s what he did and it wasn’t that wasn’t acceptable to people he said no excuse I’m not hurt there’s nothing wrong with me and I don’t I can’t explain my play um okay let’s just move on because I think we got bigger uh he I think he was unnecessarily he got defensive and stared down a reporter let’s stop for a second though CU I know we’ll move on after but let’s just compare the two things side by side why does one player creating an excuse out of the Clear Blue Sky well it’s not that Frank like nobody’s doubting that he felt some knee pain but your point kcks felt that he was the 15th or 17th most injured player on their roster they told you that that’s what I believe so there were players that played a through a lot more than what Alias Pon did who again his own agent came out this week and acknowledged publicly that he never saw a doctor he said before the playoffs they saw a doctor but not during okay when did the Canucks how long was their playoff run a month yeah 35 days if that to be fair to be there’s a dissembly there Frank the public perception is bizarre to me why does one player making an excuse get more leeway than a player who says there is he point made let’s move on to but he doesn’t the ronic story has been dead for weeks here honestly it lasted three days at a very high peak and then left the only one that’s enduring right now is the petson question so I I I dispute that it’s it’s not the one that gets I I was the one who you know I said what I said and it blew up and became a thing and that’s fine but it was just odd to me that one became something and the other one didn’t okay um Point made let’s move on to Rick tet’s perception because I think that’s more important how do you think H how do you think toet handled the question on pson and what do you think toet thought of P P’s disclosure um can you just refresh me exactly on what he said he said it’s tendonitis and some said he you know some believe he said it kind of dismissively I would think that almost universally that’s exactly how everyone handled it dismissively I don’t I don’t think Pon did himself any favors with his teammates with the team with anyone that’s just my personal opinion that’s not what Rick T thinks I don’t know what Rick T thinks I’d love to inject some truth serum and find out um but I think part of it is the real overarching clear takeaway story for me this summer for Pon is he he seems to be his Own Worst Enemy when things aren’t going well it’s body language it’s frustration he beats himself up and that I don’t care about on ice time I don’t care about skill work and development and I don’t care about Fitness the biggest thing that Alias Pon should come back to Vancouver with in his Arsenal and his toolbox in September is better mental preparation and and better ways to handle what’s thrown at you over the course of a long season yeah do you think that his attitude is wearing thin with the Canucks I hope not because they’re about to embark on an eight-year deal yeah franch history let me ask you a poll question we asked earlier in the week is there any piece of you that thinks we’re going to hear about Pon and trade talk this summer no zero per. he’s not going down Marner Boulevard per se well no that’s also one of the big Parts about the Marner discussion that no one really for whatever reason seems to wrap their brain around is there’s a big question staring them in the face and the only one to answer right now is are you extending Mitch Marner because you have to and if you’re not then you got to trade him so that’s more the position in the contracts part rather than any dismay with the player per se well there there certainly is dismay with the player in in Toronto and that’s the next secondary part of it which is why you’re not saying yes to the extension part but on Pon I don’t know that there’s as much dismay I think there’s certainly questions in terms of his play in the playoffs um but this is also a guy that a few years ago in the bubble was lights out in the playoffs like where did that go it can’t just be that the game ramped up and left peton behind I don’t believe that for one second well somebody was just bringing out on Twitter the other day about the uh the previous playoff performance of guys like Matthew kachuck and even early playoff performances of pavl datsuk late 20s before they actually became playoff performers ofers um despite being Superstars U you know kind of in the regular season you know is it just a matter of time here for Le better I I certainly think he’s going to be much better for this in the long run this is not easy some players take to it like a duck to water other players you have to drag them in kicking and screaming and not saying that that’s the way he wants it but sometimes you know baptism by fire is okay um the complication though flank Frank is um you know the no move kicks in next summer the complication is that he just played the way that he did and he’s embarking on an 11.6 million deal no one’s touching that until they see more really I don’t think so because retherford Alvine and T had basically have to decide this summer is this a guy we can win a championship with and I’m laughing because this is exactly the conversation we had with JT Miller 18 months ago yep we’ve made that comparison as well and how did that work out they’re still chanting JT Miller yeah oh we we reviewed uh the reaction to the bull that trade when people were saying this should have been JT Miller that was traded and God did they ever make the right choice yeah so bottom line is just leas just needs to Buck Up toughen up it it’s not all toughen up like there’s a skill there’s a skill to this just like you know working hard is a skill it’s not he needs it’s it’s how you process and and manage these things from an internal perspective there’s a there’s a there’s a skill to it you’re not not everyone’s just born with the mental acuity to do it you you have to really you need a sports performance psychologist that’s going to work through all this with him okay we got lots of other stuff to get to we got to move on here um Martin Ness has come up on the radar with the ks before but now he’s on everybody’s radar because of uh well you can tell us a uh a Crossroads there with the Carolina hurricane so that’s the unfortunate part is that and this has nothing to do with the press conference for Philip bronic it has to do with the contract situation um that would seem to be the only fod for the for that to be a trade for the Vancouver con is that right the contract part of it I’m saying Philip ronic would would be the only sort of fodder that I would think the Canucks are willing to part with if they are at all to get a guy like Martin hessen I I don’t get a sense that the Canucks are willing to part with Phil eronic I really don’t um now the contract part is going to be fascinating on what happens there but I I think that you’d have a really disappointed Captain if that were the case regardless of whatever um regardless of whatever Patrick Alvine wants to say about him running his own pair I don’t know how you I just how do you look Quinn Hughes in the eye afterward and say we just traded the best partner you’ve had and had your best likely Nars trophy season with I don’t I just don’t I still don’t see it I understand everyone’s concerns about the contract I get it I hear you loud and clear every time I talk about the contract I get all the tweets I see them all um also these aren’t my opinions like these are this is market analysis of what we could actually see yep and are the Cs in on NS I I would suspect that they would be I would suspect that the Flames would be I would suspect that a lot of teams are because they’re all seeing the same thing and speaking of the market it’s an inefficiency in the market in Carolina because Marty Ness who is a really talented player you can pencil in right now for 25 goals and 55 to 60 points he’s doing that without opportunity really you’ve got Seth Jarvis and Andre snov ahead of him on the depth chart which puts you immediately on power play two I view Nas as a 75 to 80 Point player in this league really without having to Blink and he wants more opportunity he’s hungry for it and you’re dealing with a Cane’s team that not only struggles to pay market price because that’s just not their MO but also because well why would you pay a real significant premium on a player who’s your third line right wing you can’t in a cap environment that’s not how it works so they’ve got a difficult decision to make the only part of the calculus that I don’t know yet and no one does is how does the next GM view this and or has Tom Dundon the owner already made up his mind that nateas is gonna be a guy that’s moving on I I have a whole Fleet of questions about Dundon and why they don’t pay market price but we’re oh listen I’m not pandering here I did a uh Frankly Speaking withon and it’s one of the favorite podcasts I’ve ever done you have mentioned that in the past um but fascinating and needless to say he’s done a hell of a job there because when he took it over it was one of the satac worst franchises in the league and they been in the league and win since then yeah big summer big summer big summer for the Canucks I’d say hurricanes and Canucks are right there in terms I’m watching for sure for sure which uh brings us to the Canucks UFA so let’s check them off here um first lyol um was speaking in past tense last week uh about enjoying my enjoyed my time here in Vancouver all but assured that lindol is gone I think they’d love to find a way to make something work I just don’t think that they’re realistically going to be able to get there given the other things that they have to tackle first Dakota Joshua um needless to say has become an NHL player is due some degree of Rise what do you suspect happens there another guy that they you love to have but I don’t know that you need to have I think the priority on the canox front office would be how can we find the next Dakota Joshua and move on for years the Boston Bruins have been a machine at producing fourth line players go look around the league all the guys that have played there they bring them in they mold them they stamp them and then they watch them get paid somewhere else that’s what you have to do in your bottom six yep um Nikita zorov answer me the Philip Peron question first and then I can give you the answer on zadorov because if you’re keeping Phil I don’t know how you can keep Zer off or zador off and then um Myers on a as we know he’s got specific family reasons he wants I I’d find i’ i’ strongly believe that there’s a path to having that work out and would you guess that begins with a two or three the aav on that I think you can get creative with that and say hey we’ll give you an extra year if you can keep it in the low toos W that would be unbelievable okay yep is that it’s all going to be about total dollars and at some point you don’t bleep with happy Tyler Myers likes it he’s familiar they like him he’s got the size that they crave and maybe if you keep Myers maybe that just makes it a little bit easier on the zador off end to say goodbye did anything surprise you with the coaching Carousel a bit here with Manny motra coming in Mike yo coming out any of that strike you with any thoughts NOP not really um Mike yo predated these guys I I get it has experience I think fit in really well and they were just like we’re okay yeah and he’s got options elsewhere closer to home so all right you enjoy those blue jean wearing edmontonians never gonna hear the end of that am I and next time you come here to Vancouver we’ll send a Tesla to pick you up at the airport okay that would be nice thanks Frank see you guys Uber black hey everybody if you’re enjoying what you’re seeing here then follow along with SEC carison price on YouTube I promise more content coming they call it the kids call it subscribe on YouTube well how about liking it

If Petterson wasn't injured, the Oilers would be out
90% of Vancouver aren't rich except for the property they own .
So, Pettersson suddenly became soft in January and stayed that way. This appears a rather brittle explanation. His previous slumps were related to health issues, most noticeably, that wrist. Given his highly ambitious temperament, wouldn't it be a bit more logical to simply conclude that his legs lacked dynamism? He did, in fact, play through this thing. Perhaps he doesn't need lessons on toughening up.
I read the poll wrong…if it was worded “for” instead of “against”, I’m sure that the yes would be near 80% 😂
The shortened nhl award show is interesting, can't help but think if leafs had a norris candidate the award show would become a 4 part mini series.
Great show HOWEVER you boys are completely out to lunch!!! NO chance Hronek is a TOP pair D. The dude can't play PK or PP and has been carried by Hughes. Carolina is the sharpest team it would be Hronek AND….for Necas NOT the other way around… be better boys! #Silly
What D are you speaking of MAtt? Hronek CAN'T even play PP or PK??? he is barely a top4 #FACTS matt #FACTS HE can't even drive his OWN pair LOLOLOLOL
No matt we are hoping they work with Hughes because HE IS A NORRIS TROPHY WINNER #duh LOL
Frank is definitely fat enough to be a cop
Seravalli is so right…Hronek’s answers were fine, bitch ass reporters/fans are way too sensitive.
I can see Myers coming back, with Foote's tutelage he made the biggest gains of his career.
Trouble is Mcjerk is cherry picker
Hronek: "No, no, I'm just a bad player, I'm not injured. Now give me $8m."
Pathetic. Grow a pair and admit you're hurt.
Not “against” the oilers…but their dive artists are deserving of an Oscar …I’m expecting Dallas to win. I’m sick of the Edmonton “press” 🙄🖕 homers all.
Tocchet on Pettersson: "He just has tendonitis or something, it wasn't an injury." (Paraphrased, etc.)
Spoken like someone who has never had tendonitis in his life.
Listen, either you're cool with ruining the career of a 11 million dollar player you JUST extended, or you rest him and let him heal. He's got the balls to play through it, HE DID. But YOU need to know better than to let a player risk their long term health.
Cole at 1 year will cost you 2m and Im buying, he was that good during the regular season
Im not paying Hronek 8m times 8, but I would pay 7, no more
Agree with Seravalli on the Hronek thing, disagree on the Pettersson thing. As for Pettersson he wasnt injured per se, he played hurt and it impacted his play. Tendinitis can be a lot of things, not to bad to terrible
if you cant trade Hronek to CAR for Necas, what about trading Hronek to
UTAH for Lawson Crouse, Victor Soderstrom and Maveric Lamoureux or
Seattle for Brandon Tanev and Adam Larsson
Thank you, Frank, for speaking truth about the Hronek situation. The unwarranted lack of respect you get is partly because you are American. Canadian media, especially in Vancouver, are snobs and feel superior in analyzing hockey takes. It was sad to see Matt trying to cut you off, protecting J-Pat.
I love that you guys lit him up for his previous comments about Vancouver right off the bat. Well done. But also, he was kind of right about that.
HUGGY won't care if you dump Hronek, sign Tanev and you save 2 million allowing you to sign Big Z.
Matt sounded extra boat shoes today
Agree with Frank
You guys have to push back on Frank as he obviously has become very salty about Vancouver .. it’s gotten way too annoying now
If the Canucks can do 7×7 for Lindholm, move Hronek and Mikheyev (presumably in separate deals), get back a forward like Necas, sign Pesce, resign Myers for cheap and find another cheap Joshua, they're in pretty good shape. Obviously, Zadorov probably isn't coming back because they can't have everyone, but if they can free up that 4.75 and Hronek's potential contract, they may have enough for all of that, but it would take a lot of work.
As much as I like watching content about the Canucks, I can no longer watch anything with Frank on it.
Keeping Petey is fine and great entertainment during the 82 game regular season, but the Cup 🥤, not so sure. My opinion is get Brady from Ottawa for Petey .Similar contracts.
Frank has diarrhea!
