okay we have our fourth Ace all right everybody let’s welcome Four Aces GC we are joined today by Pat Perez our captain Dustin Johnson hometown hero Patrick Reed and Harold Varner III welcome guys so we’re making our very first appearance in Texas this week as a league and also happens to be your hometown Patrick how excited are you to be kind of the The Host this week and what can we expect from Houston fans oh I mean I’m really excited especially playing at home and uh you know the fans I feel like are going to be amazing a lot of energy here in Houston especially with sports and uh you know it should be a good turnout you can speak into the microphone there’s a point in having to mic they can hear me don’t worry they can hear me and um you know I think the biggest thing is uh you know just having fans and people come out not only supporting me with energy but also supporting our team and supporting live uh there’s always been a decent turnout here when the PJ tour has been in the past and you know just the energy out in the woodlands where where I’m from and where I’m living I mean feels like all of them are coming out so uh I feel like we’re going to have a good turnout and hopefully uh us four up here can do some work this week and go ahead and uh get on that Podium and give them something to cheer about do you feel any extra added pressure this week uh I wouldn’t say as much pressure as more energy uh I feel a little more energized to kind of get going and then put on a show for my family friends and everyone around here amazing uh DJ we are officially in the second half of the live golf season and the four aces are currently sitting 10th in the standings do you think you guys are able to turn it around the second half of the season um I hope so uh obviously you know got off to been a little bit of a slow start for us but um you know obviously with the four scores counting on Sunday it’s you know we we’ve kind of been there right there in a lot of events with a chance but you know we all four got to play well on Sunday to you know if we want a chance to win and you know it’s just kind of been our a little bit of our downfall I feel like the results haven’t been as well as we’ve played necessarily um you know it’s just you know it’s hard with the with counting the four scores on Sunday where you know the whole team has to play well if you want to win and Pat and Harold do you guys have any experience playing this golf course and if so what is it I played almost every year uh the Houston open or shell Houston whatever it was um every year so I’ve I’ve been around this course a lot what are your expectations for yourself this week having that experience uh it’s different time of the year so the grass is different uh we played when was oversea right before Augusta so um you know it’s Bermuda it ball flies a little different at the rough greens are a little you know they’re faster with the grain and all that kind of stuff so it’s um I like it it’s just it’s just a little different and Harold yeah I think he covered it all um we obviously used to be the week before Augustus so was overseed so um a little different but I think we’ll be fine do you guys have high expectations for your yourself heading into this week I think we should we played bad enough to have some so I want to ask you guys a little bit about um yesterday we did an activation with Austin and Friends children with disabilities I know Patrick you have a connection to the organization so just like to hear a little bit from each of you Patrick on that connection and then what that meant to you spending time with those children yeah well I mean it means a lot um Jason Alexander the one that runs the foundation is a good friend of mine he was actually the head pro at uh fio when I a while back and I got to know him really well and uh you know his son has a disability and spent a lot of time with him and you know just having fun around those guys and and you know having fun with the kids get them let them be out and experience you know different things different Lifestyles and just kind of see what it’s like to be a professional golfer cuz all of them are always out there playing putting and doing some fun things and what Jason and that organization’s doing is absolutely amazing so any way we can get behind them and uh you know show some more fun to the kids and things like that means a lot especially to me especially with him being uh pretty close to myself and the family yeah I said to somebody yesterday I see a different side of you guys when you’re around you know um like the kids that you were around yesterday so DJ what did what did that mean to you to spend time with those kids yesterday yeah I mean anytime you can you can do something that’s I mean it’s such a great cause in what you know Jason does and you know to see the kids and they were smiling and having a good time and you was yeah it was a lot of fun interacting with them obviously the weather was didn’t qu quite cooperate with us very well but um you know we still had a good time you know just hanging out and you know taking some photos and it was uh but yeah I really enjoyed it P would you say you know experiences like that kind of put things in perspective maybe when you’re not playing as well out on the golf course and yeah you know for me was like being around my kids where they’re kids right they have fun they’re their you know attention span is you know hell on you know it’s uh I had a blast it it was like being around you know any other kid and it was just um it it was a fun deal it was a nice moment awesome congrats good luck this week I’m going to kick it over to Mike so uh obviously the first two years you guys have been the top seat uh I think we’ve changed the format a little bit so there’s only top three seats get to buy uh this year but what is kind of the mindset going into the second half are you are you looking at that top three or can you just are you just taking it like one one tournament at a time can’t really focus on on the seatings right now uh Patrick I mean first half the year’s done I’m putting that behind us and now we’re starting fresh uh we have back half of the season to go and uh I know what these guys are capable of I know how low we can go and you know how we can turn it around and get on that hot streak and win some golf tournaments and there’s no reason why we can’t get back to our old form where you know thees were at the top consistently winning golf tournaments it just means we dug ourselves a little bit ho this this first half but hey second half we turn that page to get going and you know start playing what really matters DJ have you given any kind of pet talk what what kind of conversations have you guys had no I mean I think we we all play golf we all know um where we sit and then you know all all all of these guys have just as much drive as I do to be at the top of the leaderboard so um there’s not much pep talk needed um you know we know it’s time to we got to play some good golf here the last s the season and you know kind of call our way back up the leaderboard a little bit and Harold how would you sum up your first half specifically and what are your thoughts going into the second half for your own game um I think it’s pretty simple I I haven’t played well um I haven’t really contributed to the team um so I just think good golf takes care of everything so I’m just going to work on that and it’s pretty simple you know if you play well good things happen so I don’t know I believe something Good’s going to happen and I won’t stop believe in that it’s a season for a reason so it’s just it’s just a part of it it’s Golf and and Pat I just want to last question obviously you guys the first two years kind of dominated on Sundays like that was your D what do you what do you have you seen this year that hasn’t happened that way so far you know we just haven’t played that well you know I haven’t played well really it’s not for I don’t really know why I haven’t put any less work in I’ve actually work just as much as you know I have my whole career I just I haven’t really seen any scores I just really hav’t gotten on any streaks to kind of get going but we we just haven’t as a team we just haven’t had low enough scores you know with the you know the caliber players that’s out there and the teams that are playing well we just we just haven’t matched them for three days and you know as far as the you know the last tournament as long as we’re in that long as we’re in the playoffs you know we can get hot and you know we get all the way to the top so as long as we Rand we got a chance to win and DJ just going back to the seating thing how important is it to get that first round by do you feel like it’s it’s vital or or I mean it really doesn’t matter I don’t think I mean obviously you know winning your match is the most important so if you get a buy it’s definitely helpful but it’s not necessarily you know the the world long as you’re in I mean just about any team can win so you know whether we have a buy or not we’re still there might as well play and if we have to play an extra day we just go on and beat that team and keep moving thanks sorry if this you guys have been asked this before but I know Patrick you’re very familiar with the area but uh Dustin when you’ve come back to the Houston area what are one some of your favorite courses here and outside of this place and then what do you like about this place well I mean the only I’ve only played here in um wherever Memorial is it Memorial Park or something so those are the only two places I played I like both the courses um but I do like the Houston area I think it’s a you know it’s a big Sports Town nice area and you know the golf courses I like them so I’ve always enjoyed being here heat and humidity make it kind of difficult to play here sometimes I mean I grew up in the South so it’s this is normal for me any else all right thank you for Aces good luck this week and good luck Patrick your hometown luck
