Wilson AKA stat baby along with your hosts mace and yeah what up man well I figured I’ve been so right so long I could rest today and you and Stat do the show when y’all need an expert opinion let me know well today we are joined with our analysts Maurice Claret what’s up man what’s going on everything all right all is well good man that’s what’s up well all is not well for the Timberwolves the M beat the Timberwolves 124 to 103 to advance to the NBA finals their first appearance since 2011 what do you guys think of the Mavs wi Maurice first uh yeah the um the first thing I think about is uh saying that my coach told me in the 10th grade 10th 11th grade sometime around there shout out to coach Barber and I remember was a game that I had um did real bad in and uh when he came to me after the game he was like man before the game I knew you were going to do bad uh because I understood your mindset was wrong right and I didn’t know 10th 11th grade whenever it was what he was talking about and after that we sort of went back to practice and the next week I sat down with him and what he was talking about was he was like Maurice if you put enough preparation in there will come a time in either a game or life or moments you’ll be able to take the moment uh and that is like what gives you the mindset to believe that you’re better than everybody and so on and so forth and he was like your mentality uh he was tell he was basically separating both of them like your mentality from your mindset your mentality is your basically your approach every day and when I seen Luca uh just to get back to the point of the basketball game uh when I seen Luca I was thinking to myself I said man I wonder if Luca got on that plane got to that hotel thought about all his preparation thought about all of the pundits and his peers and everybody who had said that uh the Mavs are their team could only get so far and I wonder I was like man I wonder is he taking this moment it being 3-1 you on the road what do I have to lose and I started thinking about that when he started taking the shots that he was taking when he took those first few threes and I know in basketball just from being around it uh with um uh Yukon they always talk about getting the game going off with high percentage shots and when he came out just throwing the ball around and shooting with confidence that was like that moment of him saying like man you know [ __ ] these dudes and I think that that mentality or that mindset was infectious towards everybody else and you know they dominated so I know that wasn’t a whole lot about the game but uh it was it was what went through my mind uh when I seen the um uh the start of the game or just the game in general woohoo yo Mo let me tell you something what’s up when Luca came out with 20 points in the first quarter it was clear that this was going to be a long night for for um Minnesota I don’t think even with Ant-Man getting busy all through the game it just it just seems as if like you said Luca came to play and Luca had remember something that has always been stated about him I think um even killer said it I said it early in the year that um does Luca make the team better that was the conversation and I think he took that upon himself to prove it and say you know what I’m making sure that we make it to the next round and Kyrie as well he chipped in they both had 36 and this is the performance I was looking for from from Kyrie but what I would say to this this whole entire series Ant-Man watch what you asked for you asked for this and you got exactly what you ask for I mean I I could have told you if you have put a call out to the expert I would have told told you listen the more you going to find out you’re going to find out and he found out but you know shout out to Ant-Man shout out to the whole Minnesota and the staff and people that wanted us to come out there and catch a game we definitely going to catch one next year but you know wooo killer what you think you going for Dallas now definitely going for Dallas and jamar’s coaching Dallas so I’m definitely going for Dallas to me this game was over from the first quarter yeah like M said um LC Al scored the Minnesota Timberwolves by itself actually in the first quarter um I think after watching this game that Minnesota my personal opinion was more uh worried about not getting swept and winning the series um after they didn’t get swept they was like okay at least we didn’t get swept cuz that’s what part me Ant-Man was talking about I never been swept in my whole career I we only been in the league a little minute you know what I’m saying it’s your third trip to the postseason so it isn’t like you have a 10year career without getting swept um and that’s not an achievement not to get swept of course it’s an embarrassment to get swept but it’s not an achievement either and I think that’s what they are more focused on uh we see what happens when Kyrie and Luca donish go for over 30 a lot of people even tonight here Reggie Miller par me last night here Reggie Miller um saying that this is the best scoring Duo back cour ever I disagree at the moment um people are prisoners at the moment I’m more ashamed of people like Reggie Miller who’ been around long way longer than me getting caught up in the moment [ __ ] be forgetting Klay Thompson had 70 points in three quarters they ain’t even let him play the fourth quarter you know Kobe Bryant had 81 you know I like it’s it’s fun to watch it’s definitely exciting to watch both of them but PR’s best back court scoring ever is kind of Wow Let’s Get let’s win a championship or two before we put them in that conversation but um congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks uh the new ownership I was very shocked not to see Mark Cuban talk after the game it kind of hurt me a little bit I’m like damn man we I like to see Mark up there um and I heard Ernie Johnson after the game saying he knew that the Dallas Mavericks was GNA win because shamard told him that it’s not going back to Dallas so sham must have knew something that the regular folks like ourself didn’t know this is why I was trying to get them on the show the other day but we got a week before game one and we’ll make sure that we get them up here but congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks and I’m looking forward to see them play the Boston Celtics I be I think it’ll be an intriguing match up but as far as the game’s concerned Minnesota didn’t put up much of a fight there’s not really much to talk about there’s damn 30 then get closer than 18 and this thing was put away early and then just in general do you guys feel like this was a reality check for him oh yeah I think so uh mace was uh saying I don’t know if people caught it when they said uh you let’s just say [ __ ] around and find out he [ __ ] around and found out um yeah but um it but but it’s it’s something that he can go back in uh I think was like the third quarter when I looked at I looked at like um him he was on the wing and I thought about that this this is like his Jordan moment when they talk about Jordan we had to uh do something else to get past the uh Pistons but that’s that’s everybody’s process to Greatness you you go out there and you put your best foot forward and you might beat up you know your local dudes but it’s always somebody or something that you run into that you say you know uh preparation could have been better uh my my my mindset towards practice could have been better you know that’s what we loved about Kobe for all these years Kobe kept that killer mentality and you know he came a time in his career where he put it all together you got remember when Kobe was uh you know when he was wearing the Adidas and he had started out you know with the Lakers when he was wearing um what he start off number eight you know what I’m saying when he started off with number eight like he didn’t get he didn’t put it all together and it took time and it took getting beat up and it took all those air balls and playoff games and all that crazy stuff he went through but you know Antman I think he’s going to be all right um you know seeing just seeing him he’s spectacular he’s Electric he’s gonna be fun for fans to engage with he’s bold he reminds everybody what what like a personality used to be like in sports in general uh but it definitely was a reality check of things that he can go doing allseason to take it to the next level yeah and I also to agree with you um I think when it comes to this Ant-Man thought that a sweep is 4 Z but a gentleman sweep Charles Barkley you could go ahead and tell him a gentleman sleep sweep is 41 W and that’s what he got he got the gentleman site I mean we we like you pause we don’t want to embarrass you too much but you gotta go home I like a man I like what he he did whether it worked out for him or not I think a lot of [ __ ] is scared to say to talk on their skill set [ __ ] work hard every day practice every day go to the gym if they want to talk [ __ ] talk [ __ ] now if you don’t deliver on that you don’t deliver on that a lot of people is going oh it man he shouldn’t have said that I don’t really think he said nothing bad I think he said next round is we got Kyrie as my matchup I’m going to see what we going to do we’re in the internet era where [ __ ] take that and turn it into all the [ __ ] said [ __ ] your mother he didn’t say that and I think that with your preparation and what you work on you should be able to talk [ __ ] now did it come out to them winning no it didn’t he had a decent game he still had 28 points it just wasn’t enough what you got to think about with Dallas shot tonight Gaff another 100% from the field even though it was three for three Lively 100% from the field uh Dallas shot 55% from the field tonight which is amazing they shot 44% from three-point land so it wasn’t like Dallas wasn’t shooting the lights out and Luca was talking [ __ ] now Luca was in the crowd telling [ __ ] yeah shut the [ __ ] up looking at Snoop Dogg like what you flew out here for [ __ ] he was talking all that [ __ ] tonight so it’s okay for Luca to talk [ __ ] now don’t get me wrong Luca waited till this [ __ ] was sign seal to deliver it but the end of the day that’s what it’s about and that’s what we’re missing and we live in such a [ __ ] tender generation and moment to where [ __ ] like oh I can’t believe he said that I can’t like Reggie Miller grabbed his neck grabbed his nuts in front of [ __ ] Le and said suck dick get the [ __ ] out of here in front of his wife I like that I like Ant-Man talking [ __ ] now did it work to his Advantage no it didn’t they didn’t win but that don’t mean don’t talk no more that don’t mean everybody got to hush up and humble their self no it makes for better B basketball and better rivalries throughout the years of the season because both of these players are 25 and under you got Luca 25 you got a man 22 I want to see them bicker throughout the years you know you sit there and you listen and you listen to all these stories about how [ __ ] didn’t like Michael Jordan [ __ ] Michael Jordan Charles Barkley would be in Chicago to play Michael Jordan Michael Jordan would pull up to his restaurant that Charles barley was eating and like you want to go do this later Char like no I don’t want to go do this later I don’t want to hang out with you [ __ ] no I got to play you tomorrow I don’t want to be your friend and it’s too much of that [ __ ] so I praise it man I hope that you keep on talking did it work out no but [ __ ] that keep working hard talk your [ __ ] and maybe one day as well but now Lucas’s talking [ __ ] nobody saying nothing about that yeah you’re right what was the guy name that was talking last year against LeBron see what that got him yeah well now he he’s need to shut the [ __ ] up I would say those are very different people now now he need to shut the [ __ ] up he don’t got listen I let me let me change this when you got sneakers you could talk if you ain’t got no sneakers or no apparel you got to be quiet [ __ ] what if he got a pair of Ling Lings pause yeah well that’s on him I mean would you wear talk if he if he got a PIR l only [ __ ] who got lingling PA that could talk is Dwayne Wade besides Dwayne Wade if you got any other kind of Ling Lanes pause you should not be talking Dwayne way is the only one who could talk with them [ __ ] sneakers yeah I never seen a [ __ ] say yo you see me in the weights like quiet okayy and moving along Deontay Wilder is going to fight again this weekend how do you guys feel about his legacy and if he loses this fight question is do you guys think he should retire rrice first yeah I’m rooting for Deontay uh because I was a big fan of him when I um seen him probably about his 20th fight and uh they they have made a big story about him fighting I’m I’m almost sure I’m almost certain that one of his daughters has like um I don’t know if it’s s cerebral pry however you say it or she had some sort of disease that they was talking about he was fighting for so I was a fan ever since then and then I like when he was uh knocking everybody out but uh I I I respect and admire uh his uh Trilogy with um what is his name uh uh Tyson Fury and I seen he dropped a few of his last fights but I want to see him actually you know beat the guy tomorrow and then he uh he scheduled to fight uh the kid Jared Anderson from Ohio who’s a real good fighter you know if he beats the guy tomorrow he’ll have um uh a lot on his hands to deal with with uh Jared Anderson uh who’s a real good heavyweight champion as well but I really want to see uh since he’s hooked up with Eddie Hearn I want to see him and Anthony Joshua finally get their moment but he has to make a couple good performances in order for Like This heavyweight fight to to manifest because Anthony Joshua actually bounced back too and so his name is in good graces after knocking out uh in ganu and uh I just want to see that fight happen so I’m rooting for Deontay uh I will tell him this you know I don’t I don’t know if this is uh the right thing to say but um anytime I’ve ever seen a fighter walk to the ring are they come to the ring and they got their significant heal with them I don’t never see it in well and I hope that he kind of like um like even if he sees this clip takes that to heart that I think like in order to get back into that that locked in dog mode where he was knocking dudes out you know what I’m saying leave everybody at home leave kids at home mother at home girl at home everything at home and get back to you know three four fights and end your career on a hot note Deontay Wilder that he’s getting up there in age so it’s important that he stop stop taking so much punishment pause um I think that the the fury fight the last two Fury fights took a took a great toll on him and that he’s he’s just never been the same after that and that’s the thing that boxers don’t realize you could lose a fight but when you get pause punished then it it does take some away because especially when you’re a bully in boxing and you just been knocking people out it is it’s hard to come come back from that cuz how do you fight now with skill and defense when that was never really your fight your fight was always bullying people walking through people knocking them down walking through them and now you got to actually learn how to move how to adjust how to weave punches get your head off the line all that type of stuff and all of the things it takes to be a great box that he doesn’t do he just got a um an amazing right hand pause and so I think if he he gets past him it’s still going to be a ways to go cuz everybody is waiting for him it’s almost like fighting fighting a guy with a great name but he’s a pretty much not a shell of himself I don’t want to call him a shell of himself but that’s how they’re looking at him go ahead no I want to ask you so so kind of like to my point earlier you feel like one of the things when he loses one thing that gets affected as his mindset like where they sto well he stopped personally believing in himself based upon some of the things that took place in the past yeah I think it takes very rare rare people can be the same person after humili and loss I only know a few people that’s like that and and two of them is on this platform right now everybody else if they go through something they become a whole different [ __ ] it take a real real strong minded person to go through something and still tell you like I said [ __ ] still going to be a problem they like y this [ __ ] is crazy he believes it yeah he believes it you know Muhammad Ali was like that but I don’t think the the fighters today are built like that I really don’t believe that um I think Pacman was like that right he get knocked out he come out next fight still going crazy not have not have any any like reservation to fight you know most people are not like that they become a whole different fighter like you saw Devin Haney like when he was in the in the um on the interview it just seemed like a whole different person and I don’t like that no so I guess I’m G ask that question in the different way so I guess what is it that some people since you you know I and I agree with you you say yall Brothers have went through something still remain the same people but what is it that some people lose and what is it that you all have kept that keeps the the same mentality forging forward um it’s like it’s like a inner belief um I I could say it because even on sometimes I was a a um I was a bystander watching it like even when I would watch killer battle [ __ ] this was times we weren’t even speaking but I would watch like this [ __ ] killer he gets it he don’t care about none of that [ __ ] said I raised him right that’s exactly what I wanted to say but I’m like this he gets it he’s not backing down from nobody I don’t care what it’s about and everybody’s just not like that even other people they talk to but when it’s the right person they act accordingly and we we’re just not like that yeah I just want to make sure I’m always yeah Ma is absolutely right like [ __ ] don’t FAS us cuz like for instance like for and be honest with you like we’ll just use our our situation like when B put the Oracle out everybody like he killed Kim I’m like to y’all that’s what I’m saying in my brain that’s a great way to explain it like you have to that’s what he said accept yeah and yeah you gotta have the inner belief that was a great way to put it but um back to Deontay m is right look he’s getting older there a lot of things you didn’t do as a boxer because you had great such great knockout power Deontay Wilder doesn’t jog he do like you don’t jog [ __ ] how you don’t go [ __ ] how the [ __ ] you train for a fight cuz you think you going to knock a [ __ ] out by the fifth round that you don’t need to jog that what the [ __ ] are you talking about you don’t jog [ __ ] so then when the rounds the fight gets into what does he do if he don’t jog jumping jacks maybe he don’t he don’t jog I’m you know I’m saying like my [ __ ] you’re bugging so you just think all right I’m gonna get a [ __ ] out of here about five or six so then when you see him against Tyson Fury and the rounds is going into the eighth ninth 10th round and he has no stama and he’s looking crazy getting knocked all around the ring you’re not prepared for a 12 round fight because you’ve been knocking [ __ ] out your whole career he has 43 wins with 42 Knockouts so he he’s not prepared for a long fight I even see him training for this fight where they got him like uh going against a jab and stick P so to speak and his his skill set looks terrible like everybody was in the comments just laughing like yo what’s your man doing cuz now you look stupid trying to learn how to box at 38 years old cuz you wasn’t trying to do the intangibles like May said because you were such a great knockout artist now I don’t be liking this [ __ ] my personal opinion when [ __ ] try to sneak to dupie and fight at 4 in the morning us time so nobody know what’s going on that way that way when you lose get knocked out nobody saw yeah you like that’s what I’m trying to say he did that like four months ago he just lost a lot of people don’t know that because you’re thinking the last fight he had was Tyson Fury n that [ __ ] snuck over there and got [ __ ] up his last fight he he got more than just Tyson Fury losses so [ __ ] like n let’s let’s not let’s not let America know what’s going on we’ll put you on prime time it’ll be 3:30 in the morning over there so [ __ ] will be at the club asleep so they won’t even know now if you win we’ll pump it up if you don’t we’ll sweep it under the rug I hate when [ __ ] try to go overseason with the time difference and don’t promote the fight that well and keep it on the low cuz if they beat nobody knows about it like I don’t I’m pretty sure Mason you guys I’m not even know if you knew that he got [ __ ] up his last fight out there I don’t know if people yeah I don’t know if people know that because it was Dubai time or what turkey time or whatever the [ __ ] time it was over there to where [ __ ] to whatever the [ __ ] time it was over there that we don’t pay attention [ __ ] like it’ be two weeks later like yo you know Deon was like when he for nobody know when he fought so I know ER Eddie hearn’s doing a different type of Market in to bring him back where he needs to be uh that was a great Point um Mo talking about maybe eventually fighting Joshua but you got to get a couple wins first you’re on the losing streak currently yeah Joshua back yeah so um I think both of you guys made some great points so with that point in this era of boxing do you guys believe that you can redeem yourself after two brutal losses race first yes short answer is yes and and in reference to him I think like when I think of him I think of the same not in the same uh vein of like importance but I think about Mike Tyson and Mike Tyson knocking people out when I think of Deontay Wilder Deontay Wilder has a shock value where he can knock somebody out to make people go back and say man what if he goes and does that against Anthony Josh what if he go what if he goes and does that against um Jared Anderson and I think he can recapture some Fame notoriety and some uh something that way and I don’t even think we look at uh your heavyweight guys the same way you look at your lightweights your middleweights your welterweights in regards to being undefeated just because it’s two different things you know even when Fury just lost to Youk you still don’t look at Fury as like like he’s been tarnished you just look at like man he just lost to a better man so I don’t know if the heavyweight division has been affected by the the need to stay undefeated so I would say I would say he can redeem himself but how he goes out and wins if he wins I think uh sets the stage for the Joshua fight the Anderson fight uh but it’s the same thing that Cam said like you have to get a few wins up under your belt and I think that Eddie Hearns is purposely putting him over there so if he lose you can just sweep it under the rug but if he wins you know uh let me go ahead and stand on the top of Every Mountain and promote it like crazy uh but that’s what I that’s what I think it is I think you can do it I think with both of them um Joshua losing and Wilder losing that now that fight is even more interesting to a degree um because you want to see who who could really turn it around right now either one of them win they’re still the third and fourth best fighter in the heavyweight Division I still would have um usk in front of everybody and fury could probably beat both of them but um can they be redeemed Absol absolutely absolutely but it comes down to the mindset and that’s that the mindset can only be developed by you know what you watching every day who you talking to every day or what you have on the inside of you and it doesn’t seem like a lot of these Fighters today have that I mean usyk has it um Fury has it um because we watch wildo knock Fury down like four or five times and each time he got up and then knocked him down so that’s that mindset that we’re talking about like if he get knocked down do he get rattled or does he believe like yo I’m better than him that that’s his mindset uh the answer the questions can you lose two times and come back and be great depends on who it is um to me even like to me YK is not bad than Fury and even though he just beat Fury Fury like I had to rematch CLA after the fight Fury was smiling drinking C you know and I’m not saying that you isn’t tough cuz that’s a tough ass [ __ ] but to me personally fury like I’m I don’t care about the O Let’s re up and grab the money because when he told [ __ ] he’s goingon to knock Deontay Wilder out everybody thought he was losing his [ __ ] mind and I think he’s one of them [ __ ] that when he puts his mind to it he can win um so I still would I would I would because you one I would put those two as a tie at the top of division which I shouldn’t because you one but uh as far as Deontay Wilder you could beat you could let’s say you beat Youk let’s say you beat Joshua you can’t beat Tyson Fury you just you can’t beat them it’s not going to ever happen some [ __ ] just got your number and I know style makes fights but you can’t beat him so as much as your best bet is to fight to be number two you know what I’m saying that’s the best bet that you can ever do in a heavyweight weight division because some [ __ ] just got your a number and I and I know he won two times and once was a draw but to me he won three times now as far as any other weight class of division M made a great Point talking about Pacquiao Pacquiao n get knocked out get up fight again do it again he comes to fight you know what I’m saying so I think P Pacquiao gets six seven eight losses it don’t seem like it because he’s coming to give his all as far as the new generation Fighters these [ __ ] don’t want to lose their o these [ __ ] don’t want to fight each other they don’t want to [ __ ] uh figure it out they want to fight on Twitter U [ __ ] is fighting [ __ ] they don’t want to see everybody we want to see fight each other W fight each other so to me a lot of these [ __ ] um ow on their record is important to them which I dig it but at end of the day if you a celebrated fighter and niggaas see you gave it your all they’re GNA come back and see you again yeah that it seemed like Pacquiao to what you said killer to your point now I’m starting to understand that Pacquiao just got knocked out so it’s different than getting beat up the whole fight for 10 Rounds and I think that’s what’s happening to these Fighters they’re getting punished now I’ll make another statement yeah go for it yeah no with with Fighters man I I just thought about what y’all talked about yourselves and being able to hold on to just your pride and your belief as a as a person right when it comes to just withstanding the storm or whatever and then you talk about Fighters old school versus new school and I think like the place that people are fighting from or what they represent has has a lot to do with it and I think more of these young dudes uh from a fighting standpoint they’re more worried about ruining their chances to cash in like Floyd you know what I’m saying or lack of better words are whatever big day fighter and guy yeah just that’s just my opinion uh but people from a different era it’s more like I’m representing myself right so Pacquiao ain’t ducking no rck you know I mean he feel like he’s fighting for is he from the Philippines or something like that he’s like a countryman fighting like and and like but the same way y’all may represent Harlem this is how Harlem [ __ ] get down and this is what we do and if [ __ ] happened to me this is how I’m standing up right that’s how I view this it’s just but it goes back to mindset like who do you believe you are is going to determine like how you approach everything and I think like just what younger dudes is more tied to the external materialism even with Deontay Wilder I would say with him right did he did he lose his mindset after he got paid or was it about him representing himself and I know how that say that kind of clean but I think y’all kind of get I’m talking about see with me my personal opinion real quick when it comes to different people outside of America you’re not just fighting for you you’re fighting for your country out here we trying to win for the state the East Coast the West Coast Midwest these [ __ ] fight for the country Pacquiao was doing so well that he was going to run for president like how like yo I know you got no political experience [ __ ] you just keep winning and you could become the president he started losing [ __ ] said he owed tax money like you gotta win to stay afloat you feel me [ __ ] is wild though [ __ ] said [ __ ] caught two law [ __ ] said n you ain’t pay your taxes in a minute [ __ ] wining he a congressman running for president so it’s bigger than boxing to me depending on where you’re coming from okay so now let’s talk business real quick so the NBA TV deal has doubled as valued almost tripled and it could pay up to 76 billion dollar over 11 years you guys think you’ll see older guys attempting to stay around longer and would that affect their legacy on air Maurice first uh yes uh I definitely think that a lot of this stuff will affect their legacy I think one two two two answers right the first answer is yes uh I think guys will stay around longer and guys who have um you know made some money at the beginning of their careers but now they see hey you know uh my payout for what I’ve been doing is probably triple or quadruple what it what it was before I know y’all remember probably about eight nine 10 years ago when you know they had Matthew delova who had made like8 million in the previous year he didn’t make that much money so I do see guys trying to stay around longer um and then and then ruining their legacy I think that’s a uh another thing uh it all it all depends on who you’re talking about and what they care about and what they want to be known as and what they want to be involved in as they leave if it’s a guy who doesn’t uh care what he’s going after the game of basketball and just going to flow out float out in life and get lost and uh do the bare minimum he probably wouldn’t view it as ruin his legacy but uh for somebody who wants to walk out of the game on top and don’t want to be seen as a benchwarmer or don’t want to be seen as a like we call like a journeyman of some degree I think that guy or that person who was probably a star at some point Who’s probably getting a check just from his name I think that guy has the potential to ruin his legacy and you know that’s just my thoughts on it yeah I think I think um the type of money that’s going to be added to the NBA the NFL um even the WNBA it’s going to be a must that that they stay around um I could see people now playing 17 years 16 years you know they’re going to start playing even longer pause because the money that they could reup for the the the the even the lead men minimum is going to be different you see we’re just at the beginning stage of Caitlyn Clark getting here so now even the conversation of what type of money the WNBA can make is going to start going higher and higher and I think with those television contracts and things of that nature we’re going to see a lot of people getting 300 400 million and I mean we we’re going to we’re going to really see probably somebody get 500 million and it’s going it’s going to be really crazy that people are really becoming billionaires and making a billion dollars just playing a sport that they love that they’ve been playing since they was five years old I think it’s phenomenal yeah a lot of players are staying longer I think about the people that we grew up watching I’m talking about me and M M’s age they’re not very long careers Isaiah Thomas 13 years yeah Larry Bird I think 12 years we’re looking at LeBron James in his 21st year think about Al haford he’s in his 17th Year Mike Conley is in his 17th year if I’m not mistaken of course people to take care of their bodies they’re eating better medicine training different people are going to stick around longer are they going to make the max deals that the younger players are doing absolutely not but yes they’re going to stick around longer will it mess up their legacy that’s what we have to see because think about this right now we’re going to the championship next week and all the all stars outside of Kyrie Irving are under 30 years old Jaylen Brown’s under 30 Jason Tatum’s under 30 Lucas’s under 30 now don’t get me wrong you have to role players around so on and so forth I just mentioned aloff and of course Kyrie Irving but we have some Superstars or SL Allstars that’s under 30 years old so they’re going to get a lot of money uh the question is is people like Kevin Durant gonna mess up his legacy is um Steph Curry gonna Mees mess up his legacy because they’re still playing at a high clip but they’re getting older and right now that was the question leading into into the playoffs um are we going to miss these guys or are we going to get familiar with the new cast so to speak when the playoffs start this year and I’m not mad at the newcast I’m not mad at watching Shay I’m not mad at watching Luca I’m not mad at watching Jason Tatum I’m not mad at watching Jaylen Brunson so it’s up to the older players to be like n don’t get too familiar um because what happens is if you start getting eliminated every year in the first round and don’t make the playoffs now you’re just a [ __ ] we looking at in the regular season and the new players are going to be the ones saying y’all [ __ ] still on that [ __ ] it’s cool we’ll see y’all at the championship so it determines we Wai and seeing if it messes people Legacy up but you know you have people like Kobe Bryant who could have played years longer than he played but he said I’m not a 16-point a night [ __ ] if my career my career has to dwindle down to me averaging 14 15 16 points I’ll rather give the game up but with all this money coming and even an average salary if you grab 90 million at 39 years old that ain’t bad you know what I’m saying yeah and especially if you’re still playing at a good clip and you looking at a bum ass [ __ ] make 212 million is gonna piss you off but listen think about the older players who not playing think about just think about Charles Barkley who has to look at these [ __ ] getting the money think about Shaq who has to look at these [ __ ] not the new contract the contract in the last 10 15 years they like man listen this I would have killed these [ __ ] so every generation is going to get more money because it’s new money coming out and the players of the pass are going to be like that’s [ __ ] up we got to think about it Michael jordes is a billionaire not because of basketball of course because of basketball but not the money that he made in the NBA because a sneakers Michael Jordan for a career made $11 million let’s put that into perspective [ __ ] is making that in two two seasons depending on who you are $11 million throughout his NBA careers yeah jumping from the fou yeah so it’s just to show the times the popularity the NBA is not just a uh American sport a North American sport it’s a worldwide sport David Stern took it to the next level you have to give him props because of that and it is what it is um so to answer the question yes players are going to play longer I don’t have the answer to see if they legacy’s going to be messed up that has yet to be determined with that we’re going to go to break when we return we will talk about the direction the sports industry is going don’t go anywhere can you tell us a little bit more about that I mean is there I was I get sh tour make sure you go onl dip. us order some shirts and everything else buddy so I’m going to get some cheeks after this Sport and bikes [ __ ] black VES and white B now I’m out here and I’m looking for more chandeliers and light fixtures nah I don’t like [ __ ] what’s wrong with me I’m all right niggaer but this 44 turn to Michael Jordan I Look to say take flight welcome back now let’s get into our Underdog fantasy picks of the day and today we’re going to do a baseball pick cuz y’all know Underdog got all the sports so there is a pick for a $10 entry if you get it you get $360 real smooth real easy so Andrew McCutchen plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates he’s at half a home run so do you guys think he will have a home run so you higher or lower mace half a home run that mean they don’t think the [ __ ] GNA get one PA so I’mma go higher yo Larry you my expert for it lower lower my [ __ ] that’s my get your own analyst get your own people cam me and Larry [Music] yeah I got my I got my baseball I got put the camera on my baseball analyst right there yeah we in the books right now Dad yeah Spanish it’s so we going lower okay and Jazz schisel Jr plays for the Marlins also at half a home run you got him getting one or not lower lower low that [ __ ] know that baseball it ain’t easy to get a home run so I I see it all right this this is specialty though that’s what he do they say have for home run they don’t think he’s going to get one real quick a lot of people don’t know when um and we had some you know a person died God bless the dead and we just moved to Las Vegas but a lot of people don’t know that Larry was the writer for eslo he was actually the writer behind the scenes for the baseball show that we had um in Miami uh maybe we’ll pick that back up we just mov locations but yeah that’s my baseball expert he’s the one putting the whole script together for that show okay L it’s l yeah Lorenzo fire okay no no his uncle’s a pimp they said they called him River I just found this out I just found out that it’s where is River man hey yo I just found out his pimp name when he was young was River shout out to City Sue City Su River y okay download the underu Fan’s app and you can make your picks too we are joined back with our analyst Maurice Claret so with the amount of money that will be in the game moving forward with college NFL NBA honestly across all sports what can we expect to see happen to the sports industry as a whole that we haven’t seen happen before in the past 10 15 years R first yeah I think on two fronts I think uh a lot of um I think the the passion that we’ve probably grown up to love and see from guys uh will be tamed and the reason that I say that is that anytime you have uh big business ENT the chat and I’m talking about what college athletes sharing in the revenue now uh TV contracts going up for both NFL and NBA uh there’s always going to be a group of people on the other side talking about what’s the formula and when somebody says what’s the formula you you lose all Spirit y’all know what I’m talking about man and the same thing enough yeah it’s the same thing as uh like you know you know when they when they started going into like sports science right and you know you put these heart monitors on and you get x amount of reps and x amount of rebounds and uh you go do load management and you can only do so many Sprints and I understand that there’s a time in place for it but then there’s the coaches and the admin and the business people who start to look at human beings as uh um Commodities you know what I’m saying at the end of the day and I think that you’ll the sports in general will start to look the same way the music game looks now where it’s controlled by formulas and uh if I’m not I’m not saying I’m not I’m not articulating my point very clean hopefully y’all can talk about a little bit more get what I’m saying but it’ll start to look like that un L like originality passion Ant-Man like Ant-Man is what I think we all love old school about sports where just the passion originality the speak in your mind to talking [ __ ] all of that I think as you get into a more corporate structure it’s let’s get the let’s get the Russell w say let’s get the clean cut guys who gives us X result and we can Market that because we’ll get that if that makes any sense yeah that makes a lot of sense when you when you think about it um I think we all know a athlete that we probably played with f whether in high school college or wherever whatever level that this person was doing just enough to make it to the next place you know they they they understand I could do this this will give me into college I could do this and it could get me into the pros like there’s it it is exactly what happened to the um the music business it became less about originality and more about analytics and numbers like you got the numbers will’ll do it but so the person that’s like Michael Jackson right now doesn’t get that shot because they’re going with the numbers they’re going with the best marketer or all of that type of stuff when Mo said when Mo said yo [ __ ] was like so what’s the formula mo why would they ask what’s the formula so they can make money we need to figure out who who who there is a better question because of who why are they trying to figure out the formula I don’t know the answer is K [ __ ] say yo what the [ __ ] we got to do yo what is the formula for this [ __ ] they got going on like do we get some rappers and throw them in there oh yeah we let [ __ ] Smoke on the set yeah yeah do we do we let [ __ ] say let [ __ ] come on national TV and say [ __ ] and act like we didn’t recognize that they said [ __ ] what’s the formula to to uh to get this magic and lightning in the bottle so yeah that I want when you said that I like that answer because think is trying to scratch in the head say what what we got to do you know when he figure the formula out and it’s been almost a year and listen I I hate to keep bringing them up or talking about them or anything else but give him a new name then no I won’t but do you do you agree um mace and even you Mo that whatever that skip is is trying to throw [ __ ] everywhere trying to figure the formula out is this a [ __ ] looking for the formula if just me I could be bugging I could be picking on [ __ ] but to me it seemed like he like damn man we started the show with the [ __ ] the Richard Sherman [ __ ] the uh the uh Michael Irvin Keon and let’s get a little waiting on and listen as much as we told Lil Wayne that’s my brother like that’s Lil Wayne is dipser that’s my bro bro so anytime I’m talking about it’s never know shots a little Wayne I love that [ __ ] like like a first first cousin so I just bring it up cuz I find it funny skip with Pam and I know little Wayne don’t move forless little Wayne cost money Little Wayne Little Wayne cost money so it’s more props to him so way he say okay let me get Bubba Dub ain’t he the internet sensation let me grab a Bubba Dub matter of fact then Paul Pier have the strippers he had strippers right let him get away with a [ __ ] every now and then and whatever else in between that I not that I didn’t talk about so yeah [ __ ] is definitely looking for the formula but St what’s the exact question I just wanted to capitalize off What mo said when he said looking for the formula yeah so with all this money being you know in sports specifically leagues what do you see happening to the sports industry as a whole that we haven’t seen happen in the past [ __ ] getting richer man that’s you know [ __ ] is getting richer the the key to the key is this though to be totally honest it’s a lot of money and now that the NCAA could pay players nil is involved um football baseball always been a rich ass sport basketball contracts are going up the key is for players to keep the hunger because that’s that’s really key because you could start making uh outside of your contract of course it’s a rookie contract coming into the NBA I’m not sure how it works in the NFL or baseball but your endorsements could quadruple or 10 times more than what your rookie contct contract is so keeping the hunger and keeping the fire after you already get the money that’s that’s s’s biggest problem [ __ ] [ __ ] get the money money they ain’t hungry no more I said s i don’t go for everybody man but it’s it’s going to be a fact actually with certain people because you get the money and you be like um okay I got what I want to get I just want to play two and a half years open up a bunch of chain a chain of IHOPs anyway this was never my dream to be in NBA it’s like and I’m not talking no disrespect either when what I’m about to say it’s like Snoop son Snoop moved to Vegas so his son can be top one of the top football players ever high school he getting ready to go to USC and then when he gets to USC he’s like I don’t want to play this isn’t my dream this is your dream and it’s like you know and Snoop supported him support him of course like a great dad but it’s like bro you could have told me this [ __ ] three years ago and we could have focused on something totally totally different was UCLA right and and he didn’t he went to school for two weeks you know what I’m saying so um it’s about after you get in the money um the passion to still do what you want to do you know it’s like I told this story on the show before and I wasn’t being disrespectful I’m just telling you where my mindset was at when me and just BLS got into a back and forth combat and he’s like no cam I don’t want to really be a producer I want to do Wall Street to be actually and at that point I really couldn’t understand it so I wasn’t trying to be belligerent and distant when I was up here I was just telling you where my M that was at but listen my [ __ ] if you make a fire beats and I’m thinking that’s the way we I’m eating I don’t want to hear your Wall Street story you know I wantan to I want to keep my [ __ ] going you know what I’m saying so it’s really about keeping the hunger for me my personal opinion after you get all this money that you’re about to get so I’m not sure exactly where um the kids and the young men or the young women are going to go moving forward but the answer stat question it’s going to be a lot more money and a lot more richer athletes out there yeah and there’s one group that we’re leaving out the baby mother Association they’re going to get we’re coming up on a time where baby mothers are going to make eight figures what you say Do child child supp but you said if you live in the state of Georgia still 300 joint gotta go to Atlanta yeah but outside of ATL they gonna be getting cash CU you think about it like right now they’re hearing this too I’m just gonna ask oh marce you can go no as as cam was talking it uh went through my mind that um they say the the the putting the money into AA basketball is what ruined a basketball and I wonder if you know this basically this the same way that and I hear this from former players or NBA players they all they all talk about it right and I just wonder if that same that same mentality or same thing is going to affect you know just these other sports and all their youth league systems just because of so much money now I was just going to add real quick I just think it allows also players to be more mul faceted where Sports doesn’t have to be the only Avenue because I mean they’re profiting off of their brands and their personality which I’m seeing a lot more of which I think is pretty cool if they like clothing they can do clothing music Vlogs like we’re seeing different sides of them that I didn’t really get to see before so I think that’s the cool thing merging that and social media as a whole for these athletes okay and then last question before we wrap with all this money being involved is there such thing as enough money or should you play as long as they’re paying you where do you draw the line on getting as much of all you can first uh very very uh very good question uh and I think this goes back to some of what I said earlier um it all comes down to you and how you feel about yourself because like I’ll say this right I can only use this uh based on Ohio right and I said man uh in Ohio I said man you can’t spend $330,000 a month right and I said if you live a normal life if you just go on about your business like you’re not about to spend $330,000 a month doing anything right and I said at some point money uh to live your day-to-day life it doesn’t cost that much right and I think at every level in every city be it New York be at La be at Houston be at Miami and everybody has a bigger threshold I say it gets to a point where money just doesn’t mean the same thing uh and so I think like and I missed the question but I wanted to make a point but at in every space everybody goes through that to say um I forget the points I’m making but everybody goes to a point where money just doesn’t have the same value at a certain point and I think you holding on to your integrity or you doing things for the right weion has to come into play regardless of how much money’s at stake right and so that’s kind of like the the thought I wanted to have around I don’t know if I said it clean or clear I kind of messed two or three thoughts up today but hopefully that started that can start the conversation but I think y’all know what I’m talking about because y’all both have a bunch of money but it gets to a point where there’s not something that somebody can give you all that will make a significant difference in your life that will move you or have you ruin something that you’ve built and I think that’s the major point that I’m trying to make uh outside of like El Chapo Pablo esbar Boston George a here niggga say I got too much money them [ __ ] said they had too much money cuz they they was running from the government they got to buy Apartments to keep money in this that I I can’t have too much money give me S I need more more Gaddafi money 7 trillion [ __ ] I’ll find something to do with it in Ohio I don’t know what the limit on too much money is I just I’m just me personally I can’t have too much money because it’s something to do it’s somebody you know who needs some money you know somebody who may got an idea that you want to invest in maybe I want to buy I want to [ __ ] off uh pause on flying private jets for 17 years straight just me personally um as far as an athlete is concerned I think it goes back to where I it depends on the type of athlete you are and I know I’m using this person two times in the same show but it’s like Kobe Bryant when he saying he doesn’t want to average 14 15 16 points that means you know what I made enough money to to be financially stable for the rest of my life whether it be NBA whether it be sneakers whether it be other Investments so on and so forth and some people may be like man I need this last two years so I’ll be high I don’t [ __ ] the money up I gotta play excuse me I gotta play two more years to make sure I’m good so the answer the question it depends on the type of athlete you are uh how much you saved how much you won because we’re always hearing about athletes going broke or don’t have enough money or [ __ ] something up as far as money’s concerned so it depends on who you’re dealing with I don’t think it’s a amount to say I’ve made too much money everybody’s money is different you can make sign a deal for $200 million and with the Orlando Magic or you can sign a $200 million deal with the Los Angel lake with the Los Angeles Lakers you’re not going to finish with the same amount because taxes in California are way more than taxes in Florida state tax working tax IRS tax so when you sit there and say you make $200 million you might leave with $98 million when it’s all said done maybe less than that they did a breakdown of how much LeBron makes and it was sad that it was under 50% which he was going to make after everything was said and done because of taxes now if you look in the State of Florida taxes are lovely a lot of people moved to Florida for that that specific reason um Nevada taxes are lovely um but depends on when you live CU where you live what you make and what you pocket are two different things agreed I agreed go okay well Maurice thank you for being here Mar we appreciate you boy my man see you next week okay that’s all the time that we have for today thanks for watching and as always it is what it is
