congratulations finishing number one in PGA Tour and you securing your PGA Tour card as Brendan mentioned culmination of a two-year career just what is this day what does this moment mean to you it means a lot um a lot has happened these past two years um going through injury this this past ball was was really tough uh both and physically um picked up a a pretty decent lead after that junior year um but I know kristo um the other guys um in top five we’re going to have a great senior senior fall and senior spring um so I knew I had a lot of work um ahead of myself and I’m surrounded by the best team best support group um so I mean without their help I wouldn’t be here right now so it’s it’s been a long journey and I’m happy that it’s over but I mean as one door closes another one open so this is just a start how do you how do you put in words what Stanford and TJ tour you has done to prepare you for the Kore on TGA tour I I can’t really even put it into words um coach has been so instrumental in my whole growth these past four four years and I mean I can’t even find where he is now uh but uh we we’ve been through thick and thingin together um had a tough freshman year um kind of sat down with him and our assistant coach at the time and kind of figured out what I need to to work on to get better um PJ toru is I think one of the best programs in all of sports uh with what they’ve done create uh a pathway to the PGA Tour and to these different tours underneath it it’s huge it gives students and uh us golers reasons to stay for four years and you can’t really pass up on the opportunities that uh they present to you I know Christo passed you for I think one week this spring and I think that was the same week you end up winning the Cabo Collegiate how much were you paying attention to the rankings is you kind of flip to how much to you going to number two kind of fire you up to retake tough spot chriso has been I’d say a huge part in the in My Success this this spring pushing me um even though we’re not together and I rarely see him um finishing in that number one spot is massive so kind of just doing everything you can every single day make sure that you’re getting 1% better every single day is huge how how prepared do you feel like you are now to be able to you make your pro day me in a week or so I I think it’s been amazing these past two years being able to play some PJ tour events travel over to Dubai play the hero Dubai hero Desert Classic um it’s it’s been huge it I remember the first couple tour events I played that’s there’s kind of this different feeling of okay I’m playing a professional event now lacking the experience a little bit obviously getting a little nervous you’ve dreamt about this your whole life um so having a couple of those under my belt should ease the transition a little bit um it’s going to be different um being an i professional now but I’m sure that’ll that’ll pass probably over the first few days have you gained any tour Pros right now as as mentors over this last year or so who you’ve leaned on to try to get yourself ready for this kind of just everyone that I’ve played with practice rounds um and tournament rounds as well um it’s always nice to go and talk to Rory um I think he won uh these last years that I was in Dubai and I won the the amateur uh trophy as well so it was cool I think he told me to keep coming back there because every time I do that he wins that tournament um uh L viig even though he’s been on tour for say a year now he’s top 10 in the world he’s done unbelievable things um recently so I we we good friends we competed a lot last year so he’s someone I look up to but I’m also uh trying to meet him as well is he someone that you maybe had conversations with this year or maybe even more now just seeing the success he’s had since he was standing in your same shoes just a year ago yeah I we’ve texted back and forth a little bit uh he’s a busy guy so um I don’t want to bother him while he’s uh doing his job but I’m pretty sure we’re going to be living pretty close to each other so I’m sure we’ll get some practice rounds and grab some lunch and kind of just talk about plans for the future is it’s Joseph framl being a Stanford Alum and obviously going through some backage Inu yourself have you talked to him much yeah I actually sat down with him at the John Deere last year we were in The Recovery Station together if I you say that um uh just talking about kind of college talking about Coach a little bit uh it’s it’s nice to see some familiar faces out there it can get a little lonely um so always having someone kind of comfort you and just be by your side so he’s a really good guy to talk to what do you think of the tour party itself I think it’s really cool um I can’t remember when you guys started doing this but uh as soon as I first saw him just made it my goal like I really want one of these uh I know I’m a PJ tour member now but actually having this this card here just means a lot anything else what are you looking forward to about drifted today supporting Carl this is I I I’m not sure too much about the math and all but I know if Carl can can win today um he can get one of those troph he’s finished in the top five and there’s some plans um that he has and all things can change with the win today so we could end up being in the same apartment complex um very soon so we’re going to do do the best that we can to support Carl today kind of give him everything that he needs for him to perform his best
