victory in many people’s eyes tonight and um yeah just give me your initial reaction to What was an exciting buildup a great fight and a win for man Jack C yeah of course I mean twoyear buildup and and you know you don’t get many what build up like that but to say to say I’m relieved is an understatement and I’m so happy for him so happy because it’s been a long time coming he should have been a world champion he’s not he’s got the result what he wanted and now hopefully Eddie if he sticks to his word which I which I believe he will again will to shot I remember the aftermath of the first fight I was there I saw you and I thought you did really well to hold it together because I I was feel I was I was pretty like mind boggled ringside and I think I saw you interview say you know I look and just think sometimes why why do I do it but the nights like this when it does get when we do get it right even though I think some of the score cards were a a bit funky do make up for it I’ve got to be honest and and I’ve got this he’s got to be sort of double edged saw this the C the Cs was too wide tonight for for Jack so so I hit him by two or three rounds so so you can’t score that fight by five rounds six rounds to Jack it’s just not fair so so I can’t stand there and complain when he doesn’t go his way about the scoring and then sit here and not mention it that even though if he rightly won but he the the scorecards were way too wide so I’ve got to be I’ve got to be fair I can’t moan on one side not not mention it this side as well that’s a terrific Point um let’s talk about his performance Jack when he he fights behind the shoulder switch hitss from time to time um one thing that was noticing as Joshua closing the distance I felt like he was getting in range the Target that he was aiming at because he turned his body was nion impossible and when he did have success it was only in fleeting spells I know you don’t want to take credit for it all but how pleasing is it for you as a trainer to see Jack just sort of adapt sometimes on the Fly and just on that we work on that stuff and and you know I was I was shouting in them mid rounds when Josh came on strong I was screaming at him to make sure he anticipates that back hand and and catch it with a shoulder and and he was going to be honest he went back in straight lines too much tonight you know I wanted him to come off an angle and he when when he went back in straight lines Josh was sort of coming forward quick and was applying the pressure and he gave him options when he’s in a straight line but what what I’ve just said there when when I was on the top table the lessons he’s going to take from that fight and and you know he’s never been in a dog fight like that where someone’s pushed him so hard so so the lessons he’s going to take on board I swear to you his boxing brain is like one of the most powerful computers you’ve ever seen in your life so the information he’s just gained tonight and he’s going to sort of download and and utilize in the future he’s insane I promise you he’s going to make him a better fighter I think one thing I said to Jack was although it’s really to get their decision there’s a lot of question marks over Josh Taylor after the first fight and after the T FEMA fight I think can read to T Fimo all you want like at his best he pound-for-pound up there with some of the best fighters in the world when he’s when he’s on song but he didn’t just beat a beat and Josh Taylor he beat a Josh Taylor who was game was in the fight he didn’t beat a watch Josh Taylor and Josh now probably bounc up to 147 and Jack will go fight for his well how good is it that you fought a good Josh Taylor say I put it this way in many ways I’m glad Josh pulled it back the way he did because just imagine this scenario six rounds in and Jack stops him everyone would say Josh Taylor’s finished and the only reason Jack did that number on is cuz he’s finished now for him to pull it back and drag rounds back the way he did at that point in time he’s tesing to the ability he still got his conditioning his determination so I T me out to him you know what what a warrior but this guy here is a phenomenal Fighter for him to be able to still with that storm and then come back in the 11th round and do what he did and not just that forget the physical and the natural skill he’s clearly got but to have that mental strength of harboring all this for two years I mean it’s hard enough being a trainer you Nel and everyone going me like we feel he got Rob he’s walking out there to a capacity crowd keeping his cool sticking to a game plan you must be looking going you know what he’s done everything it out at the end of being in so such dominant um form in the first half of the fight so it’s a mental strength you have to be really really strong mentally to be able to turn it around and weather that storm and then still finish the fight the way he did ideally for you I know he said look Lopez you’d be quite happy for that fight obviously seeing how he’s performed I’m sure you’ll take anyone but Lopez is the one for you well Lopez for me is the number one at the moment because you know you’ve got Haney who’s still a champion but just lost even though it was outside slightly outside the weight um division so so for me Lopez the biggest name the um the number one and I believe Jack beats him well look we look forward to seeing Jack back in the ring after that um what a performance I’m looking forward to his wedding first he in 10 days his face clears yeah he should be all right get him some cry therapy and he should be all right jimy more look I appreciate your time you text me about last night as well and not a lot of people would have done that and said look I miss you text him come get it in the morning or whatever but bad I was looking a fair play you know even if we don’t get one um but look appreciate you time always generous with it especially
