[Music] good evening ladies and gentlemen welcome to Newcastle welcome to the vertu motors Arena and welcome to the prelims for cage Warriors 172 as you can see the fans already filing into the building in great numbers here tonight and why wouldn’t they because we’ve got a fantastic portion of preliminary action for you my name is Brad won and I’ll be calling that action alongside Mr Daniel Stan great to have you back here in Newcastle we had a great event here last November our first in over a decade now it’s becoming a regular fixture on the cage warri calendar and I’m super excited about that brand I’m a big fan of the city we had a great show last time and I’m really looking forward to this show including the prelims I think we’ve got a lot of really exciting up and cominging Fighters that we’re going to see being showcased tonight absolutely well let’s take a look at exactly what we’ve got coming up on the preliminary portion of cage Warriors 172 our feature prelim Jack hung’s taste on Jo dos Santos Michael Chu fan favorite Striker back in action against a standout amateur on the UK scene Joe Ambler Making Waves in the professional ranks now Joe Fields faces Tom Wright in a about that those in the know are calling the one to watch on this card then we’ve got two big light heavyweights Alber saetti 6’6 A2 taking on Charles join at 6’8 cannot wait for that one Jackson Clark makes his ped War debut against Fel Bay but we open things up in the middleweight division the Jordan jumbo O’Neal taking on thonis sther Mr how chaper let’s get cage Warriors 172 under but went on suning of a tear after that winning five straight before making the leap to the pro ranks back in 2023 both fights his Pro record against guys we’re going to see later on on tonight’s card he beat Joe Amer with a first round guillotin choke on his Pro debut later that year defeated Charles Joiner by unanimous decision already taking big fights at the pro and amateur level so while he may not have as much professional MMA experience ases he certainly there with some High Caliber opponents and that could be the Difference Maker here Japan training out of fight Academy Island the team that has brought us many great over the years the ofe m and recently Paul Hugh former Champion himself Jordan O’Neal 27 years of age looking to follow in those footsteps in the west ladies and nicely defended by [Applause] O’Neal again straight into that kick and immediately picks it up again driving him [Applause] backwards I know doing a really good job of grip fighting here and taking the inside position and shrugging him off again Sur there looking for the body kick that time not the same impact as that was [Applause] unbelievable he he caught those last two I’m thinking maybe he want bu to it a third time but boy he landed that and immediately you can see the pain on the face went down straight away when was the last time you saw a fight stop s you with a buny kick that was wild reminds me of Neil Siri and Paul Mar many years ago KO sounded like a shotgun g off in the building big jumbo opens his cage Warriors account in style with that body let’s take a look absolutely buried that one into the Bread Basket body kick knock out as you’re likely to see getting in there quickly and that’s ladies and gentlemen Sur back to his feet in the cage now we’re going to take [Music] [Music] [Music] just 23 years of age Fel the Predator B making his cage Warriors debut here tonight representing H fight in Massie France 61 so a bit a height for the white as well mixed results so far as a professional four and four is coming off a nice decision win back in February against Maran dubil but the issue he’s had really has been consistency he’s yet to score back to back victories as a pro been competing since October of 2021 one is first as you say after that hasn’t been able to string any sort of winning string together but could do so tonight with a victory against Jackson Clark [Music] [Music] ladies and Gent someone making the walk to the cage in the Red Corner please welcome Jackson [Applause] [Music] K Jackson Clark making his professional debut here tonight a local lab from right here in Newcastle upon Tha England you heard that reaction from the crowd as he came out also just 23 years of age weighed in a fair bit under the welterweight limit of 171 yesterday came in at 166 a half but did not look drained at all on the scale so maybe lightweight is in the future the chck will have to see how he looks tonight training ITA in Bedlington Pete Irving referee in charge with action begins Mr Rich Mitchell Mr Rich Mitchell about to get this one underway three five minute rounds if they need them in the cage Warriors welterweight division Fel B in the black shorts Jackson Clark in the camo let’s [Applause] go fast and furious start from pener but he gets clipped back by Clark there fighting half for this Tak down nice job of reversing position putting Clark back against defense nice elbow there on the inside from Clark but he’s turned is back to the fence again staying busy though B seem to be just leaning on him there quite teasing the trip there but going to struggle to get it in this position yeah looks like he he wants Clark’s back on the fence there sort of looks like he’s trying to switch uh it looked like possibly for a tie clinch but he’s picked up that single leg now not a super deep position here he’s going to have to advance this position if he wants to do anything with this from what we’ve seen off bab in the past he he does favor the grappl in the ground game you got to use this position [Applause] continuing the fight for this Tak down great balance by Clark he tries to pick up that front headlock there’s a warning for activity from Rich Mitchell there and he found himself having to get a bit active himself to uh to dodge the fighters as they kened across the cage nice job ping in From the Inside by CL now it’s him driving his opponent against the fence J you got to use this position I’ll split you up let’s go work second warning there from the referee wants to see a bit more action ah double under hooks now this is a great position body lock Tak down attemp throw attempt here trip oh big right hand there b swinging from the hips nice want two from the Frenchman he’s going to be careful when he’s throwing those big looping shots that if he doesn’t get caught on the counter yeah quite an unorthodox style from B there yeah both guys Landing in these exchanges Clark looking a little bit crisper once again into a double underhook position here two minutes to go in this round nicely done puming back on the inside by Clark back to double under hooks now goes for the body lock defended again [Music] B really fancing this Tak down up against the cage but he’s having no look and he’s going to get warned again third time now the referee has had to call for activity in this position he’s not going to get many more chances spinning back elbow attempt and now B finds himself back to the cage yeah and Claw with the double under hooks now he could have an opportunity to attack a take down here both of these guys are sort of getting it’s a very frantic first round both in the Striking and in the grappling you can tell they’re putting a lot of energy into this but these aren’t particularly good positions and they’re not really trying to advance him nice striking from the clinch position gives up the double under hooks now does Clark couple of nice elbows there from Clark that take attempt for a second there Clark reacts nicely first round over not a massive amount of action but fored a fairly hard Pace yeah very hard pace and I definitely say B walking back to his Corner looking a lot more fatigued than Clark I think he had a very very high output there when he was holding on to those Clin positions he was holding on to those single legs he wasn’t really doing much with him but you could almost feel the amount of energy that he was putting into it and I think that’s taken a lot out of him I’m looking at him in the corner now here you can see one of these uh the closest to something happening in terms of a taked down a little slip there and bent looking definitely more fatigued of the two I think this second round is going to be very telling yeah both guys got their licks in here’s the attempted spinning back elbow when they’ve been warned for activity or lack thereof it’s an elbow from Clark Ben we’re going to see the spinning back El on now from B off the cage just didn’t land clean with it M ready ready let’s go touch of gloves round two on theway and if I’m Clark’s Corner I’d be looking over and I’d be instructing start to push the pace now make him work you know build that fatigue in him even more nice job early but Clark looking like he’s perhaps getting into a nice little rhythm look going to watch those big shots from B they they’re not the cleanest but all it takes is one or two beautiful level change there defended nicely fight aggressively for the take down and drags his opponent to the mat steps straight over into a loose Mount position ENT is upright against the fence here this is a different difficult position to Grapple against he’s exposing the back here nice on the way up b gets back to the feet another nice elbow on the inside from Clark he’s landed a few of those as the fight wears on and this is a very different clinch scenario than we saw in the first round in the first round we saw B looking you know looking very strong in this position he was reverse in it a lot he was putting a lot of pressure against Clark against the fence and now instantly you can see a lot less energy weaker in the arms here not as aggressive he’s sort of holding on there there he attempts to spin here but even that he’s not driving into the fence with the same sort of power that he was before crucially when Ben was in charge in these positions not doing damage not Landing shots and we have seen those elbows from Clark damage is winning rounds damage is winning fights and you’d have to give the damage so far at least in the clinch positions to Jackson CL yeah absolutely you saw that for a second actually I’d say the closest position in the entire fight that we seen b for getting a take down he has his hands connected in the double leg but CL just seems to have sort of abnormal balance when defending these takedowns and so far all that energy expenditure has been for nothing Barling forward now when Clark has allowed bayad the space to get those shots off he’s made the the connections but he land a nice combination like that and then immediately go to swinging hammers it looks like B’s almost got a little bit of a second win here smelling the blood possibly nice jab from there’s the counter this one turning into a bit of a slug Fest here slowing things right back down again take your fingers out of that fence for [Applause] P nicely broken here and Strikes Out from clar B follows back left hand lands on the chin and again that left elbow from Clark LS nearly got the trip take down and he’s trapped the arm behind the back in the clinch here and he’s using that trapped on the fire off some shots B head looking very tired in the clinch more elbows Land Clark going after B like he owes him money [Applause] here and B has such an interesting style he he he reacts on a lot of the shots he moves his body in a weird way almost but he was doing in the first round as well you almost can’t tell how damaged or how hurt he is by the shots just cuz of the sort of awkward styling with moves out he looks like he’s out on his feet and then he fires back beautiful take down straight into Mount here one minute left on the clock and this is a bad spot for f I’d say one minute on the on the clock here Clark should be absolutely hammering with this ground and pound from Mount bent probably going to try and kick off the fence here to try and hit a reversal I would try and turn the angle here to take away the legs you know get his get his side against the fence instead of letting his feet push against it hand on the face as he drops down shots from Mount elbows big elbows there’s the push off defense it doesn’t do the trick and now he’s changed the angle and he can’t use the fense Clark trying to finish this fight in the second round he switched to an Americana here very very difficult submission to finish from Mount especially with those gloves on 10 more seconds for some big round and pound to finish this second round and it’s all elbows from Jackson Clark [Applause] wow very strong about strong a finish to round as you get Ben able to hang in there but he is very slow to get back to his feet and if you look TI him between the first and second round after the second round looking absolutely exhausted you can’t blame him con getting some W def fence I have and you have to ask the question as well how much has Jackson claw got left in the time surely he was thr hell for leather in that last 60 [Music] seconds beautiful combination on the feet there from p a series of elbows really punctuating the round from Jackson [Applause] [Music] CL nice right Bross and here you see the take down there yeah beautiful take down great angle change STP to mount Damage Done from there very nicely [Music] [Applause] done ready ready let’s go no touch of gloves third and final round underway here at the ver Motors Arena B have a game waiting in again eating a big elbow nasty head pressure from the clinch here by Clark Jackson Clark’s Corner asking him how bad do you want [Music] this look the tie up the arm on the far side from that standing position again second time we’ve seen him do [Applause] that use your position agent use it able to get his back off the fence and drive Clark against the clar coming out to the back now and B concedes the position with his back against the fence body lock again trapping the arm behind the back Clark tries to control that arm behind the back to open up space to strike from there throw attempts here and completely blunders it finds himself on his back underneath half got plenty of time to work here are open if I’m clock I’m passing straight into m a lot of time to play with here for Jackson Clark as he’s looking to pass into full Mount yeah he’s got the laces of the right leg on the inside the right foot sorry on the inside of the leg there he’s going to use that to pry the leg off try and pass directly into he cuts knee through into side control going to try and kick use that right foot to kick the left off get the anle free and then probably pass directly into M side control is not a great position but you kick that off you go the side and then you pass the mount [Applause] easy here’s the side control here’s the neon belly here’s the pass Mount he’s got to be careful about the reversal B now can with his feet sort of loaded like a spring on that fence when he feels the weight is just off balance he might kick off of here and use the opportunity to take top position or create enough of a scramble to get back to his feet Clark’s Corner we’re calling for elbows that again and he answered in kind and a little complaint there that Ben was hooking his fingers into the gloves short elbows from side controls I think I’d be hooking fingers into anything I I could get them into to get out of this position against Jackson Clark if I’m Clark I’m going to look to try and manipulate Ben Ser around to get his feet off of the fence to change the angle and then look to pass into the mount position he’s pretty smart right now not to pass into the mount position whilst those feet are pushing against the fence and it’s very little activity underneath here so I mean why not sit in this position and continue to land this damage short elbows just over 90 seconds left to play with for Jackson Clark and F elb you must stay busy in this position you can’t just help work or split you up he’s passing he’s attempting the pass now with that kneon belly over into the M position he’s got to be careful about that big push off of the cage dropping some ground and pound craving on the chin and then dropping the elbow through big Tito Ortiz style elbows there in his cut B passes into the mount position a minute left on the clock there’s the reversal attempt Clark tries to take the back off of it but Ben is able to get back to the feet he’s going to have a huge amount of work to do to pull back this round and all credit to Ben for hanging in here he’s taken some relentless punishment especially in the second and third front headlock position here possible Guillotine see exactly where that cut is but you’d assume it was one many elbows there’s a take down again beautiful balance by Clark and now Clark tries to get to the bat position just 20 seconds left in the fight and after a pretty crazy and very close first round it’s Jackson who’s really taken the the second and third here very very dominant controlling position oh [Applause] beauti W what a finish what a cage Warriors debut from this young [Applause] [Music] man I want to see those again slow mo cuz they both look like they’re landed quite clean absolutely really heard the crack off those [Music] elbows we take a look back at some of the action now so good at short range I mean elbows really were the story of this fight to be honest from the second round onwards Jackson Clark with the short elbows both in the standing position the clinch position spinning back elbows from Neon from M from side [Music] control and we’re going to take a look now at those beautiful spinning back elbows here’s the first one just lands to the cheek with it fire is back with a right hand and with just seconds on the clock Jackson CL thinking why not let’s let’s do something crazy [Music] [Applause] see him lining it up and three so far in MMA won his debut back in June of 2022 by decision has dropped three on the bounds since then but has gone to the judge’s scorecards on all three occasions this looked very cool Neil was a decision nice high low take down here for [Applause] Joiner let’s see if the kickboxer can show off some of his ground game now he’s in a fantastic position to just strike from here in the half guard so petty trying to get to a deep position using the under hook on the right hand side to stand back up he’s got to watch those knees now it’s done it’s over wow another one I’m not sure if that was the body that that might have been to the stern almost or to the chest or something but one shot there absolutely crippled him and he’s still in pain it was a knee as well not a kick I got to be excited though yes so Petty’s still down there with the doctor he looks to be in an incredible amount of pain but look when you’ve got that long standing tie background you’re deadly with the knees we know this absolutely and and to me with him lying on the floor there that looks more like a potential broken rib than it does you know a badly winding shot yeah it wasn’t the liver shot style Body where you get that second or so and it registers that was an immediate drop to the floor let’s take a look back at it now oh yeah that looks like a rib to me [Music] Dan two body shot finishes in this one because I’m mean I’m a massive dust in pf and I feel like he might be might one of the best MMA uh resumes in MMA who’s never held a belt and I am terrified that he’s going to go for a guillotine I mean if he does I mean it’s very unlikely if he goes for a guillotine that it’s going to pay off but if it does it might be one of the greatest moments in UFC history however regardless of what happens I am super super stoked for this gu absolutely look you got two of the craziest guys in the middleweight division as well Sean stri Paulo Costa I’m on team special juice for this one yeah this is basically a meme fight between Strickland and Costa well we can’t wait to see that all the action UFC 302 coming up Saturday June 1st but we got plenty more action here at cage Warriors counted it I landed over a 100 significant strikes in the first round and then the second round starts and I managed to get a re naked choke essentially from a tie clinch teleport around his back choke him unconscious and jobs are good tonight I’m fighting Orlando Wilson Prince he certainly has a lot of belief in himself if you watch his fights it’s hard to know where that belief comes from but you know it is what it is that that can be dangerous I’ve got to keep an eye out for it he’s a Jiu-Jitsu black belt has competed a fair bit in Jiu-Jitsu can’t really like see anything that jumps off the page as far as his Jiu-Jitsu goes my record is 5-2 four finishes uh I fight out of rude MMA from groan a crazy thing happened um we’re just training and I was to talking to my teammates like wouldn’t it be crazy if like Harry’s opponent fell out and my opponent fell out and we would just get matched up for the main event I just manifested like yeah what if like this guy is going to going to pull out like I’m I’m for sure I’m going to get the next call and uh yeah there it came and uh of course I don’t wish injury on nobody but I feel like I’m making up for lost time now and I’m fighting in fight I’m I’m deserving to fight he’s a guy that is pretty all round um has a great gas tank so do I he doesn’t have the best cardio in three round fights this is a five round fight I’m going to get in his face I know I can submit Orlando I know I can um I’m a better wrestler than him and I’m just going to get after him I’m ready for whatever he brings I think it’s not a huge step up from the Milad fight like this it’s the title that has been held by Connor McGregor Patty pinlin and especially Connor has been like a um I’ve been a huge fan of Connor his whole career it will be the fight for the cage Warriors title yeah it’s a crazy situation but you know these things happen it’s the fight game lots of things can happen you know Medicals or weight missing or injuries it happens all the time the beautiful thing with cage war is because they have such a deep roster of Fighters they are able to mix it around and we come out with a title fight here and yeah this is a massive opportunity for Prince they probably didn’t think he was going to have for a little while so and and at the same time there’s not a lot of pressure on him and that’s a huge psychological advantage going into this fight he wasn’t meant to be fighting for the title he is going to be coming in as the underdog he’s got nothing to lose go out there and give it his all absolutely you know it’s really great to see the reaction on social media you know you’re always wondering how it’s going to go down when you change a main event but the cage Warriors fans pretty into Orlando Wilson Prince and you know seemingly more excited about the fight now that than the original match up so you know great to see the fans coming out in forcing support of this one and I mean why wouldn’t you because look we’ve got an incredible Clash of styles here Orlando Wilson Prince a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt he’s got a bit of Judo we saw him warming up in the cage before he was chucking his training Partners all over the place and of course he’s from Holland he grows up kickboxing everyone does if you live in Holland and you go up there you learn to ride a bike and kickbox two things every Dutchman knows it absolutely B nailed on but look he’s also known as a spoiler he’s known for shutting guys down we saw in fact Samuel B who is a crazy Muay Thai guy who was just hammering through people Orlando will prin shut him down and when we talk about Harry Hardwick we think of one of the best pressure fighters in the division how do these Styles match up yeah well this is the thing it’s it’s a really interesting Clash of stars as you saying it’s interesting because they both like to put the pressure on but they do it in different ways Prince likes to get very tight he uses the clinch a lot he likes to take top position in the fights that we’ve seen Prince struggle in when he’s not been able to get to OPP position he’s been put on his back is harck going to Grapple with him I mean he says he might I don’t think he will but it would be entertaining to watch him do that I think the question really comes down to is Prince able to shut down to close the distance and stop that Relentless pressure that we know hard with is is is capable of uh is putting on their opponent yeah we saw Harry har briefly talking about it uh in that video the first time two brothers will have consecutively held cage War titles that’s huge and you also have to add in the fact that the coach AB Muhammad was a cage Warriors Welterweight Champion so Hardwick here potentially going to be the third man to bring that title back and you know that really must speak to you know the quality of that gym and it must be great for those guys to see that process paying off I mean I remember when I first started working for cage roers back in 2020 and you and you know I was you were introducing me to the hot to George and Harry and I remember you saying way back then these guys could very well both be Champions and you know possibly after tonight uh you may have been a little bit of a Mystic Brad there calling it early it’s almost like I know what I’m talking about hard to believe as that may be but hey you know even a broken clocks right twice a day so who knows who knows I also I picked Saul Rogers to be a big star when he was a three in hour amateur so if you want the next big thing I’m your man just saying at MMA Brad 48 on social media Dan we’ve got more cool stuff uh coming up on this card uh a guy uh that I know you like who doesn’t like watching this guy fight Chason Blair an elite level wrestler who quite often decides you know what I’m just going to stand up and punch guys’s heads off I mean we see this a lot don’t we we see these wrestlers and with wrestling you have this this incredible athleticism that comes with it it’s something that you don’t really get from Grapplers when you know pure Jiu-Jitsu people you see world- class Jiu-Jitsu people they very rarely come out and start banging people out with wrestlers we see it all the time so you have this incredibly dangerous combination of they have the ability to rag door you if they get into the clinch but then when you try and stay away from the clinch they just knock you out a lot of the time people are so nervous about that that distance being closed and being taken down they get touched up and I think you know that’s what’s exciting every time you see him because you blink for a minute and something might happen yeah Chason Blair was out in the hotel car park first thing this morning hitting pads this guy’s a wild man can’t wait to see that fight later on D just looking back at some of the ACT we’ve already seen tonight particularly that that last fight some incredible judici on display I believe we’re going to actually be able to take a look at that incredible re naked choke finish I mean it looked really Grim from where we were sitting and some of the angles we got but let’s take a look back at this finish now I mean you know what what we actually saw here it’s a very small detail but there’s a moment here that is actually I think quite significant there’s a big issue in MMA about the grip fighting when you attack the back because the gloves are big it’s difficult to get the hands connected a lot of the time you can bring an arm across the neck you can look to connect the hands either Palm the Palm or in a full rear naked choke GP and the person can fight the hands off what you’ll see Phils here do is he brings the arm across the neck then he turns slightly onto his side when he turns onto his side what he he does he hides the Gap you can see on the right hand side there that Gap is hidden so he brings the hand behind connects the palms and you can see as his opponent tries to strip the grip because it’s closed off on the mat he’s unable to do so this is a good example for a lot of MMA fighters out there of a really effective way to be attacking the back yeah this is this was the angle that I was referring to and you just see how nasty that is how uncomfortable it was for Tom right and what you know what a performance from from fields that you know he’s coming out and he’s done this in front of a HomeTown crowd just his second Pro MMA fight that the biggest Arena biggest crowd he’ll have ever fought in front of there must have been a lot of pressure on this young man’s shoulders to so to go out there and perform like that against the guy Tom’s caliber he really deserves his props for that down 100% super super I mean Flawless performance really looked good in the Striking look good on the ground taked down was there I mean it was easy night work for him he’s one of these guys up and comers I look forward to watching again yeah it’s also been the night of the uh the body shots as well we’ve seen the two finishes uh by body shot that absolutely brutal kick in our opener and then that knee to the sternum from Charles Joiner you know I got a big a bit big for my britches on social media a few minutes ago I said if we get two more of those I’ll let Charles join and need me in the liver uh I’m really hoping that doesn’t happen but let’s take a look back at the first two just to see you up for what might happen in the future Jordan O’neal He thrown it a couple of times down and we’ve seen his opponent try and catch it and get the taked down off it you come said he’s probably not going to do that again but then bam straight to the liver with that one we saw that delayed reaction a very different kind of body shot touches amler seems to be getting a reaction chamu has to remain patient though yeah I mean one thing we’ve seen from chamu is as the fight goes on he does seem to fade it’s not a surprise considering you know he is a fast twitch muscle fiber guy he is built for you know for that short burst of energy he puts a lot of power into those shots and you know he tries to get the guy out early but if he’s not able to and especially if am can put him on his back and start to pressure him we could see uh the momentum of this fight Chang a little you I’ve seen Joe Amer put people’s lights out as well so if you can slow Charmy down and catch him on the counter that might be a good tactic Shu able to [Applause] [Music] separate ch’s been in there with some really high level competition but he has dropped three on the bounce now in mixed martial arts and really does need the win here nice body shot from Joe Ambler shouldn’t be praising body shots in the Mon oh no was he faking that to get a guard as a lot of people would from there used the fact that he was in a higher position lifted the elbow through to finish there [Music] nice to see an evolution of the game of Michael J yeah Joe am back to his feet now but was slow to get up so maybe that body shot did hurt him it was a bit was small in his face there but maybe it did there’s the defense big heavy sprawl it look like TR connected with the ball of the of the foot but he got a real bite on that Guillotine down yeah and he put and the big difference here before he goes down a a lot of people they’ll go down and then got give him the nickname because my dad is the machine um when I started fighting I didn’t have a fight nickname and then an interviewer called as the machine 2.0 and it just stuck from then so my dad’s Ian Freeman um the first British man to fight in the UFC he’s best known for beaten Frank Mia um at the Royal Albert Hall yeah unfortunately my dad’s not a coach anymore but he’s still in my Cor he’s there all the way he’s going to be there every fight that I have I went to one of my dad’s fights it was actually cage Warriors 5 I was only 6 years old I sat in the audience with my mom I cried the whole way through I hated it my dad got a first round knockout on K Ro’s 5 and then yeah when I had my first fight in K I managed to get the same result my opponent is Grappler and Brazilian girl she has finished a lot of fights on the floor so this is a bit of a test for me um I’ve not really fought many Grapplers yet it’s something that I’ve been looking forward to getting put in there against a Grappler and not many of my fights go on the ground all end on the feet so yeah I’m really looking forward to showing everybody just what I can do [Music] [Music] everyone knows I’m a show her mental state she’s prepared for tonight she’s relaxed she’s chilling and she’s going to do business she’s also there with her dad the machine the man himself Ian Freeman the first UK fighter to compete in the UFC a literal Trend Setter of mixed martial arts in this part of the world I believe his first MMA fight in around 95 996 run mats so there was no cages or anything you know this guy’s a true Pioneer of the sport and with that down I guess comes some pretty big shoes to fill oh I mean it’s a it’s a really interesting story this I mean Ian Freeman is a legend of MMA UK MMA but worldwide MMA in the best sense of the word I mean Ian Freeman’s book was pretty much what got me into martial arts to be honest it was what got me into MMA which put me on the path to doing Jiu-Jitsu I mean the guy went into the UFC before anyone else in the UK was doing it he had a crazy long career he had picked up some incredible victories and then to see the next generation of Freemans coming through fighting through a female fighter sort of bringing that same energy that her dad was at one point and looking to to push her career in cage warriors’s Wicked the SE yeah I remember seeing I fight live myself many many times and obviously saw Kennedy as a a very young girl at those fights supporting her dad and you know seeing what she’s been able to achieve in the sport now is Incredible You Know Dan you talked about that sort of composure in that ability for someone to relax before a pretty high pressure situation you have to remember that Kennedy’s a veteran of this game she was started fighting a long time ago a very long amateur career only one defeat and plenty of big wins took 5 years away from the sport it was pursuing boxing at one point and obviously we saw a return in Newcastle last year and she looked absolutely Sublime that first round knockout of anab Bruno rados I mean again we talk about the pressure of you know living up to a father’s reputation but the pressure of you know being one of the stars of that show coming out in Newcastle the crowd going absolutely nuts and her ability to stay calm and get that knockout really does speak to the mental fortitude of Ky Freeman yeah 100% And like with anything that pressure it can work one of two ways some people rise to the occasion and some people sort of crumble under it I think with with Kennedy with this sort of legacy and following following on in her Father’s Footsteps you got to you got to imagine she might feel that this is a story that’s unfolding she’s the main character tonight and this is just another Tale in the overall legend of the Freeman yeah jelle leano very talented fighter in a Rome right as you saw Kennedy saying you know it’s the first time she’ll be facing a grapple like this but uh leano got a bit of kickboxing background as well he able to unearth some footage of her kickboxing she’s she’s a scrapper and you’ve got to think against a more technical Striker like Freeman she’s going to want to get this to the ground and use that Brazilian jiu-jitsu you got to imagine so I mean I certainly would be wanting to do that I mean not that I would do anything else in any situation but yeah you got to imagine it she’s coming here she’s in enemy territory tonight and she’s going to try and stop the momentum of uh Kennedy Freeman yeah speaking of Kennedy Freeman one veterans he’s been away for 5 years he’s back tonight against Aiden Lee he’s been away for six years that his last fight in cage Warriors was against Dean Truman for the title he came up short in that one and he’s been fighting all over the world training out of at Fearless MMA you know those guys are doing incredible things at the moment so two Young Veterans coming back to open our main card it’s got bar R all over absolutely I mean I’m I’m really looking forward to return to both these guys especially Aiden Lee super super high level competitor he’s going to be a tough opponent for anyone and it’s great to see both these guys back in the C Ro C and let’s talk a little bit about James power I mean who doesn’t like watching James power fight the man’s a maniac you guarantee the brawl you guarantee the blood back uh this guy made his cage Warriors debut fairly Rec Rec ly and he’s already one of the promotion’s biggest fan fav between see him getting his his hand wrapped and it’s not necessarily because of the media or personality he’s just a super violent guy and the fans love that yeah that that’s exactly the word that came to mind it is violent I mean I don’t think I will ever forget that fight in Manchester which I believe was stopped because of the amount of blood but I believe that that was the most bloody MMA fight that I’ve ever commentated on and it was absolutely wild I mean he looked like a Savage in there just completely tearing his opponent apart and that’s what you get whenever he steps into the cage that’s what you can expect and I’m hoping we see Sim tonight yeah and that was against Lucas Caper he’s a really high level guy himself I was really impressed with that performance my dve leader not so much not so much but yet James power cannot wait to see him back in action of course we already talk briefly about Chason Blair he’s got a big fight against arus lean’s got another fight that I’m really gassed about the return of Leon Hill at taking on the debuting to Tommy Hawthorne now Hawthorne has got over 10 years of boxing experience he’s a commonwealth level wrestler uh competing for Wales in the Commonwealth trial so this is a guy with two very unique skill sets he didn’t have any amateur MMA fights but straighten as a pro he’s in his late 20s now but his ability to stitch those two different skill sets together really speaks volumes and just having that particular level of wrestling that particular International standard going to be one of the best bases for Mi martial arts yeah especially sort of with the modern MMA game I mean obviously very early in the days of MMA it was the Grapplers that reign supreme and nowadays you look at the Champions wrestling is the best base it’s the ability to control where the fight takes place the Dominate in the clinch the control on the ground that is where you see the majority of the best fighters happening all the other ones are sort of outliers so I mean it’s a fantastic base to to excel you know pretty far in the sport now Leon Hill another guy we have to talk about really interesting pro career had a long career as an amateur made his debut on short notice during the pandemic he he was over here was a a teammate cornering someone else and obviously with the with the situation of getting people in and out of the country uh if if someone lost an opponent that was their fight gone Leon Hill basically stepped in late notes has had a really good performance unfortunately came up short but then he went on a tear six fight winning streak including most crucially a first round submission over the current lightweight Contender D julin who we saw in Scotland defeat Chris bongard so a high level guy Leon hill now he came on stock last time for Yan Davis he moved up to wel towe for that fight in Dublin last year and got caught with that crazy snapped on armar uh you know so no shame in that y Davis a great Prospect but this is comeback season for Leon Hill he’s Dro back down to lightweight again and of course last time he was 155b people were saying title shot next year title shot next year there’s I guess going to be some pressure but also some motivation for Leon to get back in that position where people are saying Leon Hill title shot soon absolutely yeah think uh this is the weight class for him it’s a really really stack weight class in cage roers to be honest with you but uh I mean if he can pick up a win tonight you’ve got to be looking at it in the next sort of 6 to 12 months absolutely wouldn’t put that P him at all but of course a tough Aiden Lee as we said returning to cage for the first time in six years this guy a real world Warriors He’s J Herbert the former cage Warriors lightweight champ the black country Banger in the corner there current UFC star yeah I remember the guys turning up with Aiden Lee I believe it was it was either his first pro fight on cage Warriors or it may have been even briefly before he turned Pro and all his teammates were just pointing this guy out to me and saying keep an eye on this guy he’s going to be something special and he absolutely has been he’s still a young guy he’s had an incred rible career great to see him back in cage Warriors and look the first thing he told us that he’s recently signed a long-term contract with cage Warriors he said I’ve got unfinished business my last fight was for the title I’ve got unfinished business I want it back not only the cage Warriors title but we got some other pretty big prizes up for grabs this year down the prize fighter tournaments coming this year uh we’ve already announced one for Scotland we’re going to be announcing where you’re going to see the other prize Fighters soon a packed schedule to end 2024 but what an opportunity to these guys not just the young guys but the veterans like Aiden Lee looking to Kickstart that title run and 50 bags is a great way to do it oh man the the these priz fighter tournaments we’ve been ever seen I’m still remembering it back in uh back in the O2 and uh I I mean this clinch work his work from the clinch and his ability to catch the missions off of it is something that could really play into the game tonight because we’ve seen prin he likes to put pressure from the clinch and it’s just going to be those first couple of engagements from the clinch I think are going to be very telling to see how this fight’s going to go it’s a long fight as well yeah absolutely five rounds and you know one of the things that Harry Hardwick has come out and said ahead of this one is that Orlando doesn’t have great cardio for three rounds and we know how he can go and go and go we’ve not seen him go five yet but we know he very rarely looks tired even when he does Go the Distance could this be a case of the championship rounds being the deciders it’s going to come down to how this how the Dynamics of the fight go at it absolutely could be I mean when when when you analyze this fight I think that’s one thing that you have to consider Harwick does have the cardio to go five rounds we don’t know where the prince does he does look like he starts the you know because he fights very high output he puts a lot of energy into controlling the pace into the clinch into the takedown into the top positions we’ve seen him in a few occasions start to fade as the fight goes on Hardwick isn’t really going to do that so yes if he can’t get him out in the first couple expect to see him or maybe the the strategy will be the drag him into those later rounds but if it goes to the fourth and fifth I think it’s going to be very significant and perhaps crucially of course Orlando Wilson Prince did not start his fight camp training for a five round fight Harry harck did that could come
