green means goal Hy Bon gets away well in the Cent screen P Peterson shoots off the line Martina P moves through well as well but it’s Puck Peterson who leads him up the start finish straight and out on the start luk and proo just going a little bit slower off the start line just getting buried in the pack and just lost it from the front row [Music] and this climb is a key section on the start Loop this is the last section this rolling climb before we get onto the lap proper and then we’re into the single track so if you need to move up and gain a position like say if you’re looking for a win today you really need to be in the top 10 going into this first set in a single track not to Hemorrhage a load of time Paul for Ram proo rolls onto the back whe of Puck Peterson as they head towards the second off the tech zones once they get on the lap proper there’s K on the left hand side of your screen now moving up in the red jersey in the red helmet and the pressure from pet there just on that climb the gaps already starting to appear and you’re starting to realize who’s got the good legs and who’s got the bad legs today and Paul panono leads the way two lines down here both very similar it’s not so much an A and B it’s more of a choice then we’re into the big check flying steps there we are now and then a really tricky difficult CL so we’re into the lap proper now and then we finish and then we get into the the the main laps which are are more routine more technical very little traction up here both pulling for bra and put Peters in second place making heavy work of the early stages of our CL giving you some idea of the lack of traction out there in facton coming through now on that the sent on the climb the comp needs to keep just hold the wheel as she just gets passed by Berta but they need to be careful here p in Pro she gets into a rhythm and gets a bit of space we’ve seen her at the last two World Championships at this particular occasion once she goes and gets the Gap her confidence builds and then more likely than not you’re not going to see her ever again [Music] they need to get a shift on here and ran Pauline for Amo back in Haley batton’s taking up the charge now just as she did in the short track whenever Alexander Keller broke for it P Peters is following the overall points [Music] leader there she [Music] is hoing foro look at the face OE super good you see in the back Batton he’s probably slightly better in the desense he’s just trying to close that Gap it’s a real key section we’re so early in the race but if baton can get back on the wheel of ping from for RO before the road section she can have a little rest fight and make Peters are have to chase baton is back with Pauline for amau you can just tap a few wats on and close down gaps on here so can these two now start to work together that was a great effort by baton then she really committed to that descent and that first part the fly over and you see now she’s in the wheel she can recover get a nice draft and forcing Peter T ber is getting a nice free ride as well the comps in no man’s land this is a lot more strung out than we thought thanks to that pace of Pauling for amra look at Alexandra Keller having to dig deep to stay un touching e Nina Benz as well sixth place the two best Riders I think from 23 who pretty much cleared up most of the titles between P Peter and and proo and you see today that they’re going to go head to-head they got a big slanging match to go on but then we’ve also got baton and I think who’s you know the best of the rest from the first two races coming in she’s riding really smart the moment just sitting back a little bit let the other two have a fight and then just follow and see how things go this section caus Carnage in the under 23 the the woop super clim gets oh Pock Peters off and running po stays on the bike so little traction even in the dry up there so easy to get caught up in someone else’s trouble on that section as well Colleen Fano leads them into the Rock and Ruby rock garden such a tough section is basically see B visibly quicker than the two riders in front of her Puck Peterson looking good and here we go onto the whoop super climb one of the fiercest climbs in Cross Country mountain bike racing on the first time we get to see these three head up it yeah and it’s going to Pano is going to put on the pressure now we’re going to see every lap this is her strength so we have got a bit of a report in from Josh Carlson track side the roots on the woop super Clan Dr for now as we are joined in the booth I’m proba to say by the first Olympic gold medalist in M bike in Bart Brenton Bart R Nova mes this is as good as it gets in it yeah and all the the big names are here bridles they like to to be here teams like to be here in no master and that Arena as well with the grand stands fully filled with Spectators you already see the the pressure on those climbing SP for already going back now 30 seconds now only halfway around this first main lap so really piling it on the gap’s already appearing it looks like Pauline foro is starting to stretch them out now P Peterson has dropped a couple of bike lengths behind her Hy Patton even more so R’s pushing hard I think PA is pushing really hard to get away p is trying to follow her so here’s Pauling foram brao through the drops and who’s the second SMI Rider at the moment keris first 12 seconds the Gap now back to Peterson so farano is cracking all night front here yeah now she’s got the Gap going into this long section and I think on this course I think if you’ve got the gap on your ride on your own it’s actually an advantage I think when you’re in a group on those routy climbs and descents it’s you almost trip a CH up whereas here you can just be in your own pace and we’ve seen foron proo especially the last two World Championships once she’s got this Gap her confidence builds she can pick her lines and then she’s just metronomic lap after lap after lap 6 seconds the difference between for Amo and P Peterson ster about to cross the line with Alexandra Keller in close contention here we see small groups now strong R for Nina yeah in another country as well with that Olympic fight going on today I think is Italy you know three or four Riders J Jackson in that chasing group leading that chasing group there is y land in 51st position just behind Isa Shore but Peters has taking a second out of that lead of Pauline faran proo not giving up oh b a big fight and it’s really important I think this is a key lap to get the to make the connection again steager looks over her shoulder Keller heads past fany’s taking this on look at Keller strong here on the flat but a good wheel for Laura stiger sometimes on a day like today when the gaps are starting appearing it’s really great great to have a a motivated Rider like Keller to follow who know who’s always going to take it on oh it’s so difficult I mean these rocks they’re not there’s still some mud from where it rained earlier in the week so you don’t have full grip up here it’s just trying to maintain that momentum and pick your line at the same time it’s very difficult but all eyes currently on haly baton coming under pressure from Alesandra Keller and her teammate lus steager paing and proo leads P Peterson just ahead of Alexandra Keller who’s 36 seconds back it’s a big just up for Peters soldiering on in her Chase aoling for am but it’s up to 15 seconds again yeah small look back over her shoulder for B Peterson that’s not a good sign she feeling a chasing group is coming it was a great shot put Peters in with the Drone he just kind as came up to the route just backing off the pedal pressure a little bit and you working on the way up you’re revving a bit harder and coming off the pressure a bit when we see here just pedling a bit too hard at the wrong time slipping on a route and then you’re off and you saw P are just backing off the power a little bit she hit a route that’s really the right way to do it just stalled out the top of that climb slightly ping for and Bravo so it’s by no means a perfect performance as yet there are a couple of mistakes in there but the gap’s 18 seconds though a lot of damage done already it looks like Stager is having to dig deep to stay with Keller here [Music] you go P Peters an almost Supernatural ability to just float away up that Rocky climb [Music] but this last lap from braon proo is doing the damage not just to petza but all the other riders in the top 10 those gaps going out Candice Lil back now over a minute now to sixth place there are the Waring specializ teammates then baton looks like she stabilized a bit just as olle said she’s TR of read him with this pair who were in front of her I got back past him got back and pass them interesting to see that again he shows a lot of strength back for Baton sometimes just when a couple of riders come past it can be easy to get a bit demoralized but she hung in there and then has come back around kind of regrouped herself which is impressive to do better on third place nower for and then Alandra Keller it’s fifth can Le not that far off on sixth place yeah unbelievable right that’s the career best so far baton Stager and Keller all together 59 seconds back off the lead but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a good dice between themselves and definitely the specialized rers they will work together batam good on these descents today I think she’s one of the fastest out of this top 10 looking a bit F they’re in the same shot now so P Peterson moving back towards the grip of these [Music] three p Peterson is about to become the fourth member of this group this group starting to look around now that’s the group of Keller just rolling through Keller back to the front of it yeah Keller seems the one most motivated to chase at the moment she hasn’t given up yet and that’s her style she’s such a fighter we saw it in the short track going two laps out and then not giving up and we’re going to sit in the cross country day she won’t stop rolling around on that fire compressing on the pedals till she’s crossed the line I mean she manag so this kind of uh results this kind of racist trouble for Hy baton then off the bike and down on that shanu climb p p getting caught up amongst it off the bike and pushing now and losing a lot of time in that section for p pza and Baton as well and this is exactly what they don’t want to happen in this group to start slowing each other down but you see just that one section how big the gap’s been created now baton and Peterson now struggling to get back onto the back wheel of alander Keller Keller cracking on here yeah and is now in second place 49 seconds behind the race leader Pauline faran provau and I said about that out of sight at mine they can just see us said they just as they turned the corner and looked up and this climb is completely straight up the hillside they could just see proo at the top Bon looks like she’s done well to recover yeah Peters are struggling a little bit head down weaving across trying to find the line on this a better angle and that gives you an idea of just how merciless that climb is and how many roots there are see if she can ride this one this time the last couple of times she’s had to come off and walk a little bit in amongst the back markers already ping for Amo meanwhile Keller steer getting a big swap on through the roots [Music] [Music] straight you see here the Free Riders in that that second main group nobody wanting to take it on they’re all starting to get kg and they’re going to be starting to fight thinking about second place almost giving up now foron foro too strong Gap too big they’re thinking of fighting out amongst themselves B is coming back because of that it’s that long fast flat section all around the start finish it’s time to have a drink been as well on that Tech feed Zone Lane look at haly Baton now starting to look really really strong the rider on the left hand side of your screen and the overall points leaders jersey the red and white stripes on the specialized Factory machine and Puck peaches are really struggling now just to struggle to hold the wheels but also as well you the first sign they’re struggling is they start to weave on this plan they’re just trying to make the gradient less severe meanwhile Pauline for Aro continues to look like is on a coffee ride haly baton though has broken free of this group and is going extremely well in second place now on her favorite part of the course 58 seconds the difference then between paulen forano and Haley baton this is the battle for third place Keller getting no help from steager steer now coming under the attention of cook Peterson but Keller having to do a lot of work by herself here chopping wood a bit yeah it’s more like an attack of Keller here yeah that’s the first time I’ve seen a Grimace on her face just starting to grit a bit and it’s pet of the Cs around here got to take that wheel now hang on maybe ster was just telling Alexandra Keller quite honestly that she didn’t have the reserves in the tank on the start Finish Line 17 I don’t think she wasn’t that honestly 175 ft from for p Peters but meanwhile ping for am brao on that last time up that Shimano climb ticks it off not to ride that on the last lap shows the form and condition that somebody’s got is super technical but the the the physically better you are the harder you can hit it the better momentum the better chance you’ve got of clearing it so bat looking strong great we wondered what PA fan proo had in score for us today it’s been one of her very very best Pauline fan proo wins out of count in Nova Mesto Namar shots fired took the win last time in Arisha and she will be very very happy with the fact that she has bested all but one of the world’s best today Alexandre Keller crosses the line third place and again a great ride from her big big smile first in the short track yesterday she knows that was a good one p Peters on her UCI World Cup bur Bea in the wars in the short track got a top five there gets a top five cross country Olympic this is ler best we’ve seen from her just faded in the last lap and a half or so Pauline fan provau is back on the top Step at the UCI cross country World Cup there’s your Podium there foran prau from Baton from Keller from Peters from steer Pi wins the race to the champers [Music]
