saying I was crazy and now I’ve agreed with everyone I’m now crazy again it’s it’s remarkable how this keeps happening um last year when everyone had you didn’t put in because you said he doesn’t play enough games I’ve pulled up and found out he played 42 games that season so you couldn’t write it off what do you think about that now no I can’t speak to the state of mind I was in back then yo what is everyone saying welcome back to another episode of the to night pod the whole season was on all our top 10 list and this is now going to be the last one Center Midfield well until the end of the season when we revisit our managers of course and there’s going to be some iconic debates to be had there but joining me today his favorite Center mid got injured and now suddenly his team are flying high and even his boy Jack is bagging goals Ali how has life been without Enzo recently no no let’s not do that Poo’s cooking is finally starting to get ready is it that’s what’s it’s po cooking yeah it’s po it’s poch’s tactical tactical genius that’s getting us here right now okay I don’t believe in coincidences personally but I’m going to store what you just said there poch is tactical genius no problem next up he was on here on last year’s episode so we had to bring him back to verify whether his opinions have changed or perhaps his opinions have become even more outlandish M how you feeling on this fine afternoon uh I’m feeling like some of the Ultras aren’t going to like me uh on this episode but I’m also excited I’m excited to be back and actually talking about football so we’ll see how that goes yeah that’s a rare one from me you’ve been there doing bant bantas now we see the chaos last but not least I was initially going to have YZ because obviously he was here last year with their list of the top 10 cids number rates box to box boes whatever you want to call them over this entire season if you put somebody first in your list that’s 10 points second is nine points eight points you get the point so on and so forth until 10th on your list gets them one point it’s based on the same thing as always so football ability consistency stats importance to their team however you want to do it is fine by me and then combine everyone’s L together to get an overall table with our top 10 list along with a bunch of honorable mentions as always feel free to put your list in the comments or the live chat now to see how it Compares without any bias enough waffling let’s get cracking because there are today 30 names so 20 honorable mentions and we start with MAV because 30th Place With One Singular point we have kobby I knew it I knew it was going to be him we we absolutely do um and I don’t really need to talk too much about it I think he lets football do the talking this year if this was Enzo Fernandez he got in for a lot um in previous years I just want to throw that out there Kobe minu was in Argentina’s Midfield he defo be in this list that’s all I’m saying Ali are you hearing what you’re saying about Argentina I I guess scoring a goal good goal against Liverpool was it is more important or a bigger achievement than winning the World Cup CU that’s what got Enzo where where he is today that’s that’s the most interesting interesting change of words I’ve ever heard but uh that’s absolutely not what I said Stokes close to yours um I love him I love him and I I think very highly of him but like I just kind of I didn’t want to too too much propaganda for myself today so so what I’m understand is that Stokes is taking this list very seriously I respect him this is this is the official F list of the world there we go that’s 30th Place also on One Singular Point only Alfie put this fell in I’m sure most of you have not watched him his name is Lee melu he plays for breast in League n so I think they’re like second or third at the time of recording so you know fair play to him I’ve heard he’s decent but uh I’ll be honest I don’t watch that League I don’t watch that LE has he got any Evo STS or he’s got a team of the season coming I think and then obviously few few fantasy cards here and there decent player okay he got good stamina good stamina good links good links yeah all right these next two players have two points and this is where our good friend uh Mr oford joins the party because he has given an Atlanta midfielder obviously some serier prop to Edison that I don’t watch Atlanta but I did watch them smoke Liverpool and In fairness he was pretty good so maybe he’s on to something there uh I’m not even going to ask Ali because Ali probably thought I meant the goalkeeper Ed that’s genuinely he talking about Stokes did you watch that Liverpool game or were you yeah I mean I I wasn’t like I think it was on during the dart I was kind of there or thereabouts but like to be honest I mean he might be he might be good than but can I name nine people who had a much better season I’m sure I can so fair enough my I assume same as Al just no to be honest I agree with what stok said I think I don’t really I don’t watch Atlanta not I don’t really I don’t watch Atlanta I’ll be honest he had a decent game but at the same time I’m not going to sit here and say honestly that I can judge him fair enough you have a player on two points 27th Place please welcome Ai and please say goodbye to MAV because we have Moises kaiso no honestly I I’ll let him talk I’ll let him talk cuz I I love I would love to hear the absolute garbage that comes out of your mouth to justify this selection kiso has been quietly good for a lot of this season he started off shaky and then he’s made a mistake a big mistake against United that’s obviously going to get a spotlight because it’s against United it’s on te why you doing that like it’s not cuz it was it was one mistake in the game he still had a good game that day he’s had a very good season you man saw um against West Ham you saw how brilliant he paid and that is pretty much what he’s been doing for a long time he’s probably been our best midfielder for me so he has to be there and he’s better than the two names we’ve probably been your best midfielder I’m going to stop you there I I have to stop you there I don’t want to hear this Conor gallaga talk I don’t want to hear it we all have you don’t want to hear the you don’t want to hear the player that has literally been better for you this whole season we have at this point when you’re including Moes kaiso in your list and saying that Gaga’s apparently had a good season when everybody here knows he’s your best midfielder then I I don’t know what we’re doing here I if you watch not going to say that if you watch him don’t for the propaganda so what does he do that’s better than what does he bring to us that basically everything here and there he loses the ball 200 times in the game as well what does kaiso do what does kaiso do then kaiso wins the ball back countless amount of times after losing it he probably wins it back after giving it to the guy you watch chse we week out 9 minutes no way I actually do that’s the thing people know I do he is kaiso has had a terrible season and if we go like oh he had a good game against West Ham okay quality then in that case he’s he’s amazing he must be mustard yeah that West Ham team that absolutely got games has he had how many terrible games has he had this season just give me any terrible game he had cuz the United game wasn’t terrible he made a mistake but it wasn’t a terrible what about West Ham West Ham away West Ham away yeah that was his debut know yeah but you asked for a game I’ll give that was that was literally at the start of the season on his deut bring me that my point the thing is I’m I’m not with MAV like he’s been terrible thing in it I’m not I’m not going there and my my bigger issue yeah is you you put someone in top 10 that’s been quietly been decent that’s there’s this is not top 10 quietly been decent or quietly been insane all right we move on then to 26th Place this is V for by by Cal so he won’t spend too long in that one he has given three points to Warren Z Emory um which fair enough you know I mean I like him considered it but again not quite I’m not watching Uber enough to squeeze him in the list but I like what I see in general a couple iffy decisions in Champions League Knockouts but he young so it’s calm 25th place I know you man ain’t seen this guy it’s half half he loves to send us to the AY he’s given us Joey verman of PSV so uh yeah I guess good luck congrats to you or sorry or whatever one point hedri yeah so obviously obvious obviously he had missed a chunk but I think since he’s been back like you just see why everyone loves him so much like he’s just he’s just quality player isn’t he so he’s been back so in terms of just pure games I thought I think he’s played I I think he’s played a chunk but not not obviously a lot the flashes I see on him on the pitch like he’s just quality player so I had to get him in there Al you had him last year so what happened why is he fell out of your list uh I don’t know I think Barcelona have been a bit like may this season in it so by that I just felt like he didn’t didn’t quite make my my top 10 like nothing I don’t think particular just a quick go I you’re say exactly what I’m about to say team that they’re above athletic in the league and they they went one game no the same game as atletic in the Champions League so I mean you’re thinking about atletic I’m thinking about Chelsea who were down there for the whole season 11 Mr Maverick plays Jude Bellingham last year he’s stay consistent to what he’s saying enough no absolutely absolutely he he he’s another one where realistically he doesn’t play box the box for me realistically he is an attacking midfielder um if Real Madrid had the uh Personnel he would be playing there and of ability alone he is the best in the world in that position right now for me so uh I had to put in the list if I’m put in vers there so simple as that I hear that one more so last year everyone had him bar Alfie and obviously M USA and you hate Alfie do you still hate Alfie or uh Hate’s a strong word um I’ve done some reflecting I’ve done some reflecting I’ve mellowed down I’ve calmed down as a person um strong disdain is the word I would use um to describe Alfie and again for those who if you were here last year this is the of course player that had YZ bringing out an a fullon b a catalog where he wrote down Bellingham mistakes for Dortmund so I wonder how Yas must be feeling right now no no AC in his house and Bellingham is scoring week in week out but uh there we go that is Bellingham in 14th Place uh Ali did you consider him a little bit or cuz he’s playing more forward you a football IQ guy I did consider him because I it’s like it’s fine margins in it but I also to think about how many times they’ve actually played in that position this season so I think for that reason yeah it’s a bit of a stretch yeah that is fair enough 13th Place M we’re joining forces it’s me and you alongside Kur and half so I think we’re done all right for this one you know let’s hear it Del plays Douglas Louise okay how’s he uh yeah I understand it a lot of people don’t watch Villa um so I do I genuinely do understand them not including him I understand Ali not putting him he don’t watch football clearly he’s got kiso in there so the fact that he’s got Kao in a list that Douglas L isn’t in is flipping crazy to be honest box to box but it is what it is um sometimes you’ve just got you’ve just got to accept that people don’t watch Villa I understand uh but if you’ve watched us even once this season you understand that this guy is absolutely ridiculous um at he does and uh if he was in a top team guys would be absolutely raving about him especially if he played the way he has this year he’s a phenomenal phenomenal footballer and he should be in this list for everybody that watches the Prem Stokes um this guy if I’m not mistaken he got Evo recently so why was he slipping your mind I don’t know about that but no you got a free card that’s what it was um no so he there was three people that were rotating in my head for 10th Sport and I know 10th may be like a bit disrespectful but yeah um I had him ninth so was it was um he was between him and two others and I at the end of the day went against him I think maybe it might have been some recency bias might have thinking oh Viller started to slip a little bit maybe I’ll just disclude him but yeah he and you know I owe an apology to um to Kurt because okay I remember our we had a playmaking discussion and he was very adamant about Douglas D and he has been he has been a very good playmaker this season so yeah we’re going to that out the video but would I would still wouldn’t quite say play play playmaking qualities I think yeah I’d still I’d still argue what I argued in that video I’m not a fan of apologizing to that guyol he’s he’s going to save that for you and just say yeah how about that one for eyes like remember when you said this it’s just it’s going to get long he got like 16 things wrong since but that one right in 12th Place we’re getting towards our top 10 now uh who voted me stalkes and Aaron no one else he was 17th last year so he’s up five places Frankie dong uh obviously injured recently in the last what three four weeks but I feel like anything good that Barca have done has been mostly down to him and probably let me yal so I had to get him in there you know when pedri is out when they’re chucking anyone in mid feel to be the glue that was I guess helping him out a lot in St you got him the highest out of all of us so yeah I mean it might be some sort of pipe dream one day wanting to come to United you know aot R but he is he’s AIT I think he’s a superstar and I think he’s not even playing how he should be playing and he’s still not doing really well over there Alli don’t like bar it no I thought about it but I feel like these Bon midfielders have been taking turns getting injured in that this season so it’s like none of just play enough for me and it just not enough impact for me m close not close yeah I I can’t lie I’m a massive massive Frankie fan um and I think I’m always living in the hope that he shows what he could be and I I I kind of thought not agree with Ali that would be a little bit too far but um no I I I do um I just don’t think he puts enough run runner games together in the quality that can show I think he’s very lukewarm sometimes didn’t quite make it was a consideration for sure I’m not mad at it I think ability ability gets him high on my list because I hear what you say like when he’s not good as well he can look very mey like I still stand by last year what I was saying I was saying that Champions League in Europa League and the World Cup because we had obviously the World Cup in the middle of the season I said that brother I didn’t like what I saw whatsoever so he didn’t make my list last year but like ability alone I can acknowledge how good he is and obviously he be you know great in the Premier League but alas there we are that is 12th Place uh so our last player that missed out on our top 10 list I’m on my once tier not because I voted for him I’m the only one out the four of us who didn’t vote for him all three of you plus Alfie plus Kurt voted for vitinho oh I’ll explain why I didn’t so that you guys can cook and enjoy whatever I didn’t because it’s not too dissimilar to the mall situation which is first half of the Season that R was not meaty but he was hardly doing anything he looked quite weak they could just elbow him or shoulder bar him and he’s flying but in the last month or two Champions League especially he’s been cooking I I I really like what he’s been doing in the last eight weeks but it’s not a top 10 last eight weeks for me it’s top 10 of this season but yeah stalks I guess yeah your thoughts on that well this was the guy that I was shuffling in and out of my head for um yeah see you scrap Douglas Lise um it’s one of ones where I was just trying to think I was going through I was sifting through and I was thinking who’s who’s impressive from league and obviously I remember those Champions League performances that’s fair Ali you’ve obviously scraped him in as well right below kaiso um thoughts yeah I believe this is first season at PSG isn’t it so I feel like you got to give you got give these new signings just a little bit of grace period didn’t it where you let them off or yeah and then one you got give him a grace period to just get that get used to things settled down a bit and then judge him on on when they got going because now he ability and I didn’t know him before but yeah he’s really he’s really showing he’s about it fair enough M vitinho liking him yeah I like him I think I think PSG are really struggling in that Midfield area um in terms of replacing the likes of veratti um and I and I think obviously they wanted Ugarte to be a lot better than he has been there’s a lot of people who sung his praises and expected him to be the next big thing it’s not quite happened maybe I didn’t see him stink it up at the start of the season so he’s got away with it unlike kaisa who I have Haw eyes on so maybe he has got away with a poor start to the season no that’s fair I won’t say he was thinking I just think he was he was all right like he was nothing special but alas before we get into our top I’m going to quickly read you there are 14 players who were here last year that didn’t make a single Vote or anything this time so I’m going to read them and perhaps one of you guys may have voted I don’t know speaking of farmers League I think it was even in league on I can’t remember in 29th last year we had 29 names uh YZ told us to keep our eyes out for a premier league move for vanen booman and obviously we were saying like who the hell is that he said watch out watch out and Ali found out that he’s 27 years old and YZ was talking like he was was some up and cominging younger I think he’s playing for like Ajax or something now somewhere in AIS so what on to him 28th Tyler gave us Rio hatar of Celtic um cool good luck to him 27th MAV was the only guy with TR Mani we’ve kind of been through that convo again anyway so you know fa 26 was orun kotu um Again by Tyler 24th Enzo lefi League earn player was YZ um again he was saying that uh enoi and vaner boomman are the best two midfielders in League n so I’d like to know what they’re up to nowadays but anyway 23rd Alfie had benas 22nd Alfie had banur 20th uh Aaron had zalinski and I was a Napoli fan back then so I I was hearing zalinski 16th mavin Ali joined forces for Bruno gimar didn’t make anyone list this time you know surprising H I think he’s uh yeah not top 10 this season um similar level to kaiso this year in my opinion I think he’s just done a lot more I think he’s just done a lot more DM work this season that’s why he’s not on my list I think he’s still quality oh more DM work but then kaiso is okay kaiso plays as 28 Jos me in fact like last year I was saying that I didn’t have Bruno G because I felt like the center mids or box to boxes were like Joe Linton and and willik and and them man that’s why I didn’t have Bruno G but them two haven’t even played a single minute this season so I guess Bruno G if you want to put him that’s fine 13th last year only MF had this guy Bruno Fernandez MF do you regret that a little bit or what last year yeah no last year he was having a much better season than this this year this year obviously you’re a massive hater of he that’s why I asked no this year I’m I’m surprised no one’s included him in his in the list because he’s he’s clear of vard apparently and he’s level with kdb so I’m surprised he’s not made the list this is his Worst season at the flowers putting him in the Box to box one but I understand it I just I see him more as the as the six so you I’m not argue too much on CH glue uh we’ll go then to Seventh Place this one is interesting cold that you should get in you pretty much yeah I I genuinely think he’s that good rice is in the top 10 in the world box to boox if he plays there so he gets him B simple as that no dramas last year he was 25th to be fair so he’s gone up high I was saying that I hear it because of those crazy driving runs and I said that perhaps if he comes to the Emirates I’ll get him in my list well I may have lied I didn’t actually get him in my list but like in spirit you know I I manifested that one so no problem we continue we go to sixth place now I have this guy Stokes has this guy Ali hasim as do and Alfie M you do not valde we’ll start with you no Val Verde nope don’t like him or position or no again I think uh I don’t really think he’s got a position is he really a box to boox again like Jude I don’t think the answer is yes I think he’s a very very good footballer um not Stokes if I was to say that Val Verde might arguably be one of the most boxto boox players on this earth right now would you agree with me yeah I mean that this season anyway I know previous Seasons they had him out on the right doing sorts I think probably has done that a few times this season as well but he has yeah uh realistically he play 40 games in central Midfield this season by the way in the way they’ve led up that like more see narrow system he’s just he’s just been a complete box to Bo and he’s been good and he’s obviously got so much competition and he’s had his spot just nailed down all year so just got to give it to him yeah Alli you clearly like Val they given how many points you given him right so yeah man he’s he’s a brilliant mix of like tenacity and talent and ability in it like he can genuinely do it defensively and going forward he’s got end product so I think in that position as a box to box I think he’s one of the best funny enough last year M didn’t have him either again um he was talking about Bruno Fernandez and stuff but no space for Val ever so maybe we bu a bit of a bit of a Val hater no I no it’s not I I I don’t hate him I really don’t hate him um fair enough I just think yeah I don’t know I think a lot of people like him a lot that don’t watch him a lot I’m not convinced on him fully Douglas L was described as phenomenal by the way yes he was yeah fair enough and he and he would and he would be phenomenal in that Real Madrid team if he played there as well this man was first last year with the lowest total ever Kevin De bruy Stokes what do you think about kdb being fourth that’s fine that’s fine I think he’s been one of his worst seasons just purely because of the injury um and a few games as well the way yeah he had a few but like you got you got to say that he’s he’s had a few games where I’m just like wow like he’s still here and you can stack him next to all these players and he’s just by far the best he is my number one yeah defensively as well OB he’s played two games in central Midfield this season what do you think about that Ali as you put him number one as well yeah I think obviously he hasn’t played as many games this season and it’s hard to categorize with Man City system where he’s actually that’s the problem yeah yeah but I think if you’re looking at when he’s fit fully fit and available and playing at his you know full fitness I think he’s the best in I mean in that position has has he been at this season because he came back at new car so he was cooking and then after that they’ve been a bit like no whenever he’s whenever he’s had a few shaky games when he’s just come back but well I mean he’s been out since day one so there was no beforehand to rate it off Evo if it’s this season I’m sorry I get why KB was number one last year but what’s he doing like I mean he’s had he’s had he’s had like a a handful man of match fantastic games this season since he came back obviously had a few Disappearing Acts well it’s a combo in it it’s it’s the position thing it’s the lack of games as well this season and then in that lack of games it’s not as though they were all standout games when he came back and he was firing either that’s why I didn’t have him but I guess fair enough MAV has got him in but again I guess put him a little bit lower than you guys MAV is yours injuries or is yours no again this is this is where I find remarkable um and this is why I was I I was wait I knew we were going to get to this position because I feel like again positional wise if a few other guys don’t fit I’m not sure kdb fits in it either he plays a very very similar role to a Jude um you know and a verse a little bit man for me and at that point I realized that we might get here and I hope that I hope that we didn’t so he was was last year he just randomly no that’s what I’m saying he’s even come back into the German setup and is obviously playing well there again after stinking up in the German setup previously so I don’t know what um anti-aging juice he’s taken but he’s taken the one Modric was on last year um so maybe he drops off a cliff next year after the side effects like MRI has ali um Cruz kaiso no obviously I’m a big fan of Cruz but cuz he’s a player that I know yeah I didn’t do any research to what positions he’s played this season and on paper what it is and in my head he just didn’t register as a box to box I just thought he a bit more now that he’s a ask yeah go can I just ask as a Madrid Watcher so how did you come to Valverde being in your team but not Kus out of interest cuz that’s just the kind of player of Val is bro he’s box to box and Cruz and Cruz isn’t from the game this calendar year so that’s why I’ve said you know what I’ll give you a third place last year I was screaming at like Marin Ali about how this guy does so much defensive work and pressing and everything and they weren’t trying to hear me but I think now everyone sees that he is like the first Defender if you will at the at the front even the head of hav or Jesus or whoever’s playing as a as a nine so GG to him mavi starting to come around to odard as a CID box to box I absolutely love him um I think I was one of his biggest fans before most Arsenal people he does have his uh lukewarm patches every now and then and the start of the season was one of those so Alli you’ve watched him dunk on your head enough times real quick uh you a big fan of obviously his goals from that kind of area like when he cooked Enzo twice previously as well I wouldn’t call myself a big fan um but uh I can see his Effectiveness yeah I can respect it I still do think he’s more of a 10 but he’s effective in that age he’s not playing as a yeah I don’t want to say too much good things about look lastly we with you then OD God you got him you got him second second very poetic I think is that’s that’s where he’ll finish that’s um there is a question mark I think in the ultimate big fixtures but other than that yeah Talent very talented player like him a lot all Trafford we’re ready oh no
