Scenna, a Monmouth University commit, won the MCT individual title as a junior, won the Wall Invitational twice, including this season, and was never worse than fourth at the MCT or SCT over his final three seasons. Was top-ranked among Shore players in the NJSIAA’s new iWR player rankings.
It was the most dramatic moment of the spring golf season. Trailing by a shot and facing a third shot from just off the 18th green on the par-4 finishing hole on the South course at Charleston Springs, Welch used a putter and drained it from 30 feet to force a playoff, winning on the first extra hole. And Welch, who was fifth at Monmouth County, played No. 1 for a groundbreaking Ranney squad that won its first SCT and NJSIAA Non-Public B titles.
