week 11 on the ladies European tour took us to the stunning Evan Resort in France for this year’s jabber ladies open views very much as good as it gets day one and it was a fantastic start for the home favorites teeing up just over an hour away from our home in shamb Berry Nastasia Nadal opened with a round of 68 fre underpar to sit Two Shots back yeah a pretty good day I’m really happy with uh how I play today pretty steady and like on this quarters you need to really like hit Fairways and greens um yeah just focus on hitting your zone so which I did pretty well today so pretty happy about that runner up last year Selene herban would match her compatriots score on Thursday morning once again aided by L Legend Becky bruan on the bag leading the charge though was a gatas on playing at home the French woman got the poter rolling at Evan Resort on Thursday rolling in seven birdies for a round of 66 5 under par here’s one on the pesque par five 18th saon chasing a maiden L victory in her ninth season on the circuit starting on the six she would follow that up with an excellent Birdie on the first hole on to the afternoon and Alexandra Swain would make a hot start making five birdies in her first eight holes on route to around a 69 like saon Swain is chasing her first lady’s European tour win she was joined on the same score by Czech Republic’s Jana melikova here she is tidying up for par on her final hole lateer on though it was inz laes who had join saon at the top of the leaderboard already a winner in France at the 2022 Laos ladies open the France the Morocco to make seven birdies for a superb 66 helped Again by husband Ali on the bag everything is getting a little bit better um short game long game and then especially confidence you know after a difficult year and then also uh the experience that I gained from the last two years uh makes me a little bit more relaxed coming into this year day two at the beautiful Evan Resort in France and it proved to be a much trickier day for the stars of the ladies European tour after posting a 66 on Thursday laes was unable to match her low scoring round dropping several shots for a card of 75 playing just behind her Sweden’s m fol would move into the top five thanks to a round of 69 to on the par she join Mel over in a tie for third on free under par total the morning though belonged to a Friday a fight back from Pauline rouson playing at our home Club Evan Resort the two-time L winner bettered her opening card by an astonishing 10 shots with a round of three on the par the score meant the French women would make the cut which eventually dropped at 5 par there really is never a dull moment when rouson is on the course aided by her dad on the bag take a look at this Birdie on the par free fifth hole fist pumps all round from rouson and the home crowds were loving it onto the afternoon and as the storm clouds moved in over the French Alps it was another local start Switzerland’s Morgan matro who took the tournament into our own hands playing across the lake from our home in Lon matro brought her aame on Friday carding six birdies and an eagle to storm into a healthy lead sadly her round was cut short by the incoming thunder and lightning meaning mro would have to return on Saturday morning to complete her last three holes saon still in the mix as player was suspended and Kiara tambellini keep an eye on her as the rookie started to threaten the top five once again and it was an early start for our leader as she took to the course at 7:30 a.m. chasing a second L win after winning the 2022 ladies at salian open Metro would par her remaining three holes I think no mistakes was the secret uh this course I know it really well now I’ve played it quite a few times uh and I get to practice here sometimes when I’m home so um I’ve gone a few times around it and I know exactly where you can go and where you can’t go and I managed to stay in the good places today and give myself some good looks and made a few pets so I think that no mistakes was the key yeah on to the final round then and it was Morgan Metro’s to lose with a Swiss star holding a six shot cushion things did get a little shaky early on however as Metro dropped three shots in four holes to see her lead four to two a few holes later and the lead was just one matro bogy in the tricky 12 as a gat saon made an excellent birdie [Applause] y elsewhere Kiara tambellini was leading a Saturday charge of our own the Swiss rookie got to have in two shots at one stage after making six birdies and a eagle on the final hole one hole later and there was change in the leading group again saon Bing the par 4 13th to give Metro breathing space once more and any early loves was soon put to bed Metro coming close to making an ace on the par three 14th following that up with fabulous birdies at 15 and 16 cruising once more and with family and friends watching on the magnific Metro found herself with a four shot lead coming down the last AAA saon saw the French woman tie second place with tambellini a wonderful week for her on home soil and despite finding trouble down the right hand side matro was able to see out a free shot Victory Landing her second Victory on the lady’s European tour [Applause] um I don’t really have words about how I’m feeling it’s pretty overwhelming right now went through all the emotions today on the course from having really bad shots and TR and and being in bad positions to actually making a funo to come back and yeah right now it just feels very surreal and it couldn’t happen in a better place for me like this is a dream come true the final standings then and it’s matro who qualifies for the amundi Evian Championship next month thanks to a free shot Victory tambellini and saon shared second while Ireland’s Lauren Walsh produced an excellent showing finishing fourth
