and a great welcome from the STS here at the MCG for the two teams 170 times they’ve met in League competition in England Spurs lead the way with 74 victories 62 for Newcastle and 34 having been drawn although Newcastle have won three of the last four including the last meeting which was only a month or so ago April the 13th the Game ending 4-0 in newcastle’s favor two for Alexander isach that day one for Anthony gordus not here in Melbourne and one for Fabian Shaw who is also not in Australia so the long walk from the dressing rooms here at the MCG in complete the Smoke Clears and we are set for Action this game is obviously a celebration of the top end of the football pyramid now cheap giveaway by Newcastle son hung Min to fire one in and there appeals for hand ball there against the mcraft I fancy Ali ragani not interested and want to two a good natured booze from the stands the first bit of controversy and here come the two Army down the right through Kieran [Applause] trippier and a chance for a shot on goal which uh was not too far away from Alexander isach Emerson Royale to square it up it wasn’t a good ball got away from Benton c one back though here Castle again get numbers in the way is that a hand Ball by James Madison still going puts the ball in the back of the net Tottenham Take the Lead James Madison selected by Gareth Southgate for England’s European Championship preliminary Squad Only Yesterday now has a goal to celebrate here in Melbourne there might have been a hint to hand ball as he sought to bring it under control but no doubt about the finish one nil Spurs well Newcastle player still in deep deep conversation in the center circle with Al Resa fani about the hand ball Joel Linton clearly clocked off his defensive duties expecting the whistle to be blind it’s clearly handall uh used his hand to control the ball but from then on this is the beauty of James Madison those feet a delightful great silky touch to make the opening for goal and he lashed the ball [Applause] home Newcastle anxious to get on with things quickly here’s gibber Joe Linton this looks better for the turn G ice they’re queuing up here good save initially by Austin but tapped in by Alex Ander isach it’s virtually their first real Attack of purpose on the Spurs goal and they found an equalizer through their top scorer the swed Alexander isach just before the [Applause] break I mean Newcastle have had plenty of numbers defending their penalty area Spurs were really thin on the groundon Royale couldn’t intercept the the cross at left fullback and Austin really with his first touch of the game he’s had to take carry away a couple of corners but this is his first serious intervention the best he can manage to do is to PM the ball onto newcastle’s Hot property the sweet his [Applause] sa Bern Johnson bowled over he’s uh another one he’s got a famous father son of David Johnson former Nottingham Forest Striker back in the 90s that’s where he made his name Brennan Johnson confirmation of all those halftime changes I’m sure there’ll be a few more chance here though for Newcastle Anderson sport got away from Emon Royale but not Dragon Newcastle back on the attack could be a chance here on target but no real problems for Brandon Austin well the penalty shootout was a surprise to and fogu it was certainly a surprise to us but a penalty shootout we’re going to have and Spurs are going to go first it’s going to be Brian Gil up against Mark Gillespie so a bit of added entertainment for the 78,000 plus Brian Gil and it’s a good save by gespi it’s a very good sa Brian Gil is very active since coming off the bench so stepping up first for Newcastle is Joe White who was a second half substitute and he’s going to be up against Alfie Whitman the young goalkeeper for Tottenham the left footer sends the keeper the wrong way Newcastle lead the shootout be by go [Applause] toil and I guess for some of these youngsters HS this is uh a good test for them the kids love the penalty shootouts to watch and the youngsters to play there’s plenty of youngsters on the pitch at the moment Dane Scarlet is next had a couple of chances in regulation time thees be pulled off a good save from Brian Gil can he repeat the trick not this time too much power and it’s all square Ben Parkinson up next for Newcastle to to restore their lead and send Alie Whitman the wrong way and it’s 21 for Newcastle very confidently struck penalty kick by the 19-year-old Jamie Donley here’s next four Spurs well if he is going to be the new Harry Kane he’s going to have to score penalties so let’s see if he can convert and bring Spurs back level Brian Gil would the only miss so far for Tottenham well that is close to the perfect penalty decent wasn’t it a former West Ham United youngster born in Canning Town in the English Capital fires it home and Newcastle lead again 3-2 and that penalty from Brian Giller side they’ve been good spot kicks yeah very good excellent as well picture of concentration and Technical execution 3-2 then for the tune and next is tyres hall for Spurs calm as you like here is a big moment because up next for Newcastle is a certain garan [Applause] qu his most important kick which is not difficult to be fair as it’s his Newcastle debut tonight for the English Club and a big sigh of relief I guess goes around the stadium as the sakuro plants it in the back of the net and it’s 4-3 for Newcastle and I wonder if as he’s sending this gowood he sends a message to his brother Alo preparing for a league men’s Grand final night on Saturday for the Central Coast Mariners that’s the way you do it Alo now Oliver skip has a big responsibility here if he misses this one Newcastle win the shootout but he doesn’t and we’re back at four all and it’s all going to rest on this final kick ends the night wearing the Skippers armband and he played the Skippers role when the pressure was on and so Harrison Ashby here’s the man charged with the responsibility of winning the game unless they’ got something else in store for us that we didn’t know about with this penalty kick and ashy plants it past the goalkeeper and Newcastle win the contest on penalties by five goals to four and Mark GES gets a huge hug from one of his teammates
