I don’t know what I expected today but not this oh my God that’s another birdie from him that is your [Music] daddy all right we need to negotiate Strokes today all right so here’s the deal I golf uh once a year in a scramble and so this last September um they did not use is one of my Strokes at all I mean not even a putt early March um I’m I’m skiing up in Colorado and I a fat man falls down a mountain and I break my wrist okay so I have a broken wrist okay a couple more just an excuse all right I cut it off early and then I went and saw the doctor 6 days ago she asked me uh when I was done with the appointment she goes do you Golf and I said no and she said good cuz I don’t want you swing in a golf club for 2 weeks that was 6 days ago so we got to factor that in I’m going to okay but 2 weeks that’s not that far out of the range of 6 days that’s only eight mon you’re fine stroke play are we doing the match play match play okay so so if you lose a Hole by four it doesn’t matter said you would shoot a 105 if I’m real good so that’s on a good day so that’s two I would say two strokes ho roughly I i’ legitimately have golf September September September September and probably didn’t golf at all before that four rounds of golf in four years and there and there were scramble you’re lucky this isn’t September jeez yeah I know’s hot yeah okay sounds good you get like two strokes a hole Two Strokes a hole you can play the four I think that’s good clean place left clean Place everywhere deal for me on the Greeno but not for me I’ll play You’ll Play it down okay this is good okay wow he’s finessing this is insane man I I would to see you on a sales call like this would be insane yeah he’s getting everything he wants in place for me anywhere do I do foot wedge at all do I get a well I’m a little nervous because the last time I saw Jerry Clark swing a club he almost took a girl out at Hannah’s tournament called tournament he shanked it straight straight left like like father like son right no he shanked it straight [Music] right every time I pull back up to this place I feel like there’s a good time frame off of playing sunflower so every time I come back I get Nostalgia every single time today’s going to be like extra nostalgic cuz I’m literally playing a match against my dad at the course that I grew up on so can’t really beat that also these these guys haven’t seen it yet they’ve only seen it on camera so I’m kind of excited for Jackson and MOSI to see it who’s going to win seriously what’s the what’s the underdog bats that you guys are placing today what’s a what’s the underdog high or low taking over eight greens for you it’s set at eight right now that’s my line that’s tough 18 it’s 18 but listen he’s playing it down today 3.5 birdies over under uh I would take the over I think you’re going to have four come on what about Jerry over under one birdie zero yeah no shot I’m going to go over I’ll say higher you know I’m taking the lower and it’s the it’s not a spicy bed it’s like a 7 multiplier cuz I know he’s not [Music] birdy see not coming up here dude zoom in on him dad is taking this so serious dude he’s got a coffee he’s he’s getting locked in he was just cleaning his clubs I’m sure this man hasn’t touched those clubs he said there might actually still be plastic on some of those clubs I don’t even think he’s going to come up to the T the T box that’s how much he is so just in his own little world so I’m going to hit my t- shot and then we’ll go walk up to him he is playing two tea boxes in front of me he’s playing the gold te’s today I don’t know for some reason if you guys haven’t seen this course this is where I grew up this is where I started filming this is where it all started for me shout out to Sunflower Hills for being so amazing to me throughout those years so we’re bringing it back to the roots baby it’s match play Two Strokes will hold of my dad I don’t know what they’re talking about over there but I’m ready to go [Music] Mo let’s do it man let’s get it I I know you’re going to do this okay like he’s giv me two strokes and I’m forward lift clean in place no closer to hole you I’ve never played a match against my dad ever not looking good not a good start there every time I used to play this hole I was scared of the OB and I would always hit in those right trees almost every single time are you nervous yeah I’m nervous actually yeah no you’re not actually a little bit I am a little nervous there we go I because I always cheer for you now I’m not I was telling Ryder I’ve never played a match against you ever don’t I get a hit from further up than that no I mean unless you want to play the you want to play the men’s forwards or the women’s you’ll see a bigger difference I got to keep my man card in my pocket I can’t totally give up my man card yeah I’d rather lose than give up the man card it’s either play the senior te’s here or the women’s te’s I think you would rather the senior te’s how old are you by the way I am 60 I just turned 60 in November perfect the senior te’s are 60 and above are they really yeah okay just for the record everybody will know I have no butt so you can go ahead and make those comments that’s where I got it from that’s where I got it from just flat that’s all it is just freaking board back there God I’m nervous okay join me brother it’s all the trees as well are you you’re further up though probably yeah definitely uh I think it was somewhere up in there you’re going to be right back in here probably what would you say you average off the te how far do you hit it 190 that’s pretty good is that my ball yeah this is you you’re going to want to lay up like you’re just going to want to punch a four iron or something how about a hybrid that works I’ll be nice I’ll even clean your ball for you trees in the way yeah but I would just go right of it anyway all you’re really trying to do is put this in the Fairway cuz then you’re hitting for zero I’m going to call my shot here I’m going to do that thing it’s called a it’s called a fade yeah I think that’s the only shot ship he has okay oo all right so now ouch it’s to the right Dad it’s over there where all the way over there you kind of peered that though you kind of peered that I’m going to like go up there nice okay you might hate this one I’m going to say you probably just hit the same Club yeah yeah okay so I can still do something here yeah yeah get it up around the green get it up and down oh yeah wow yeah that’s fine there get that up and down for a net par just trying to get the Jitters out if it makes you feel better this hole is still any man’s game cuz I’m down there in the see look oh no that is a mud if I’ve ever seen it Dad that’s awesome look at this guys look at this this is where things can change in a big way can’t play lift clean in place today 158 6 iron just trying to cut cut one up there around the green oh that rough’s going to eat my balls yeah hit it nicely just came out way too low so where where didd you end up in the rough when is the last time you played like an actual round of like 18 holes that’s been about when Micah was here 5 years ago wow I tried it once you know just to see what I could do and it was ugly what kind of tool do I use here tool like a w a wedge gap wedge or pitching wedge yeah it’s a club uh gap wedge probably Gap just short of the green here way short of the green actually probably 60 yards got a 60° oh it’ be nice to get one up and down here sit sit oh my sit that look good didn’t it way long I’ll talk about this a little more when I get in the car with my dad next but it’s crazy cuz he I played my first full 18 hole round of golf with my dad that was a terrible shot why didn’t I not bring a r I should have brought a rangefinder out there I’m going to do a gap wedge here I don’t know what that means pitching wedge is it more lofted than a pigeon wedge Gap is more lofted yeah is it like a sand wedge uh no sand wedge is Sand Wedge okay they would just name it sandwi yeah oh okay I’m going to concede now no no you you’re still in it I’m still if you get that up and down we tie the hole okay I knew I was negotiating Two Strokes for a reason I think it’s a fair number here we go down the hill left to right for my par I’ll go ahead I keep looking over at them and thinking they like don’t have their shirts on I know their jackets are the same color as they I know byebye ball kind of fast low key I mean I might make a double bogey here see you’re playing to your audience or a bunch of them I’ve got two that are the same in case I break one I guess you have two of the same hybrids yeah it looks like it um well it says five I’d play your five you want a little more LOF than this one yeah that’s the most random set of golf clubs I’ve ever seen no good good shirt no Callaway clubs all right hey Callaway if you’re watching this I know you are you saw when I asked for a set of clubs for sketch we got him a set let’s get let’s get uh data set as well for next September yeah for his next round of golf there’s a lot of them in there from your uh thrift store challenges so yeah you got this is a thrift store challenge right here let’s get him some good clubs though he’s using some Dunlop Club I think right now okay go that so fine you got lucky off the cart pack I did I didn’t I think I got my luck from you too I spent a lot of time in the trees and evidently in junior golf you did too wow I still do evidently way too much more so than in a fairway I’ll tell you that is that you I think that’s me down there less about the match and more about my score I’m getting competitive after that double bogey hole One 7 14 15 were the holes that if I were going to have a good round I would play those even par if I played 174 15 even par it would pretty much mean that I was going to shoot around 69 cuz the rest of the holes very very straightforward I got 20 yards I got a seven iron but the problem is I’m playing it down mud ball in this is kind of a flyer so yeah you’re playing down and after it rain that’s going to T yeah this is just it’s a recipe for an L but I’m going to try and hit a seven iron and hope it’s the right Club just depends I was expecting a flyer but yeah a hair long but not bad just knowledge of the course you cannot miss left on that second shot so kind of scored it out right there playing it down on a day like today he’s getting everything he can with this club link let do that that was solid in the center I mean it you couldn’t have got more Center than that I mean it was like dead center that was great contact on the tree it was yeah wood is good beas hey now you’re in a better spot use the same Club what do you have there same Club five all I was saying in my mind is don’t hit that tree don’t hit that tree don’t hit that tree that’s the first mistake I know sit sit sit sit what did I do I don’t know why you hitting five iron I almost said something but you got 130 I hit that yeah you hit a five iron I know but I hit it good the thing is you play for your misses you’re playing for a chunk or something you got to play as if you’re going to be hitting it good oh that’s not going to happen you know your yardages at all no well that would probably be a good step to start with figure out your yardages y I would have suggested maybe like a seven did I go over mhm and you’re on there you make that that’s still an eagle I don’t want to speak too soon for my dad but he used to have a really good short game like he would just have good touch around the green and that’s where I would give a lot of my credit for my hands whenever my short game is on at least I peed it can I say five iron at 130 that’s that’s my 150 Club I guess all right I got the g g wedge Gap I think they call it oh what what did I say he’s got touch though it’s good shot yeah whatever that’s for birdie that’s technically for birdie there we didn’t hit any practice putts the greens kind of looked a little slow but that first putt I hit was sneaky fast so just got to go based off that this putt snaps really thought I made that look it was a good roll thanks do I even need to putt yeah you do I do if you make this you tie oh not short okay we’re tied after two tied after two Good Start honestly for not playing I’m impressed he’s striking the ball well that’s he had one poor contact shot so far that’s what you got to look at if you haven’t been playing for a while and at his level of golf just making good contact right now is a good start like I said I’m getting competitive about my round double to start want to make another birdie here H stop stop oh no you stupid little yep it’s I need to more oh fart fart you’re good it’s way short of him yeah you’re fine God I’m not expecting a guy over there mama was saying we’re both prone to hitting people with golf balls yeah she said the last time you picked up a club you shanked one I about killed a girl oh I literally swing as hard as I can and it is like I mean literally what a 90° yeah and it hits right there right in like in front of her she’s sitting here and it hits right here and you know that’s terrifying yeah it’s very terrifying you’re fine over here I am where am I so you just got to figure out that fade that’s all it maybe just play it play a little slice that’s all is well that’s what I was saying on the this little mic thing play your fade so I aimed for the I thought I aimed for the sand trap but evidently I didn’t I don’t know if we discussed in the negotiation about using a tea in the Fair way but that may become an option flag is over there if I can play my slice or fade or whatever they call it I could maybe do that okay back all right oh damn hey good shot there it is dude I feel like this match is going to be very close I think it’s perfectly evenly match the game of golf is won or lost on the negotiation in the first T bock and I think I negotiated a deal what sports did you play in high school football basketball track and I was afraid of baseball Jerry line Weaver he threw a hard crazy fast ball I got the wrong Club this is a tough shot here boys going to hit an eight iron but it is the wrong Club it actually cut no way no way that looked like a good um who wait that looks pretty good that was like today we’re at two and then the greens in regulation was 9 and 1/2 and we’re at two so kind of on track yeah I don’t really know what to do here it’s an eight iron but it’s it’s an eight iron cuz it’s into the wind anything within 20 ft I’m happy on this hole no it’s going to balloon With the Wind bunka bunka might oh carried honestly it was a good swing I tried to kind of draw it in there just stayed straight on me all right I’m going with an eight iron I think I’m about 110 I don’t know what that means but I’m into the wind and I know I cannot get a pitching wedge into the wind well now I that this putt doesn’t matter two pars and we what did I legitimately hit a bogey I did a legit bogey and that’s I mean hole five is one of the harder holes out here so and I did legit bogey on the last hole Yeah Yeah so you’re you’re making good progress over here it’s going to be tough to beat him if he’s making bogeys today on to the next part five you’re playing better than I expected tell you that I’m playing I mean and I will get a legit score out of this 18 holes yeah we know exactly what I played and then you can kind of go off that and that could be my mic check two down boys got some work to do part five hit a good t- shot it’s eable hit a bad t- shot it’s double aable this hold heavily is reliant on how you hit it off the te I tried to play the freaking fade and it started too far right I peered it but you pure it yeah just started it’s one of those things like if you miss it left in this hole it’s an instant chalk yourself up for a loss aired on the right side side yeah anything left here is dead I think I carried the trees though which means I’m fine yeah you don’t want to be left or right you just want to actually just kind of tap it down there since I’ve got these extra Strokes in my bag I should just not do anything stupid so analytical yeah that’s stupid that’s stupid yeah you did something stupid it’s okay I hit it on the same line though gosh can’t guide the ball and then I would make a 10 hit three balls OB and next thing you know I get dead last yeah those were where did that come from those were fun holes to watch as a parent they were they’re even more fun holes to play oh yeah imagine God I love it I can see the Meltdown on the face when those happen yeah that’s a lot of stress for juniors to go through cuz they they’re so hard on themselves it’s less stressful if you’re really good I wasn’t really good o that doesn’t look good there’s a ball down there oh actually I saw that ball when we came up the other hole so that is not me right here look at that and I get a club L I’m going to declare this to be a driver yeah it’s actually a good shot seriously for me that’s like pro pro golf and I think I I have my tool for the next shot a Deal’s a deal right I said I would play it down that’s tough that’s tough the problem is like he is in a great spot hitting three Net one so got to put one close to the green it’s just also the ball is wet so it’s tough to say how much this is going to move no D miss the bunker please please please okayo hey we’re in a fine spot there but jeez that was not the best lie just should have hit the Fairway that’s what it comes down to Dad you got like 190 180 he is way off I’m inside of 150 he is getting in my head I’m doing a five iron oh fatty said he’s getting smart he’s like not even going for it he’s playing lowkey right now he didn’t even hit a Hybrid to try and go for it he’s just playing smart just engine his way up there cuz he knows he has two shots where’d you go up here at the cart path on the right okay so I’ll have a blind shot to the green it didn’t really work for him this time though still in the rough 125 into the green seriously if it is truly 125 that’s an eight iron okay I think that’s a good number oh oh what’s over there there uh another golf hole but yeah you actually hit that one nicely though I know you like caught it too good this is where I start going downhill you can literally still win this hole you’re four shot that’s five you can get up and down for birdie you’re counting yourself out of a lot of holes that you’re just like right there for me to have a chance I need you to play like this okay oh look at this two in a row boys like I said we made the deal we got to stick with it 60° 79 y quite the interesting lie here got to take it a little upstairs four goodness gracious that was that was that was a poor shot very poor shot still get that up and down for par though I’m not going to clean that it’s laid up it’s you know it’s not going to make a difference with my game I don’t know if they call it Hood it down cuz I don’t have the right stick cuz I can’t do anything here except for make forward progress and hope for the worst oh that’s too hard well finally got a good lie got to take advantage of it here back into the wind breaking slightly left gosh it would be so cool to hit a really good shot here mother father this is hitting my six shot right and I have to hit it pretty good even par on the day but just a scrappy hole so far not what you want to see good looking roll have to hit it a lot better than that this is for my par net par this needs to go boys oh I felt so good about it rolling it well today they just need to start falling that’s good thanks all right we tied the hole we did yeah yeah that cut that was I’m going to play the left sand trap because I’m fading it or slicing it or something like that I’ll just go ahead and line that up right now bunt the ball where is it oh perfect oh
