PGA Champion major Champion Xander schaa you had a lot of big names you had to fight off today tell me the attitude you brought to the golf course just the same one I was preaching uh all week uh you know continuation of last week I just played some really good golf and um I knew if you know if I can stay out of my own way and just let myself hit the shots and let myself read the putts and feel comfortable um I can do something nice you did it nice here on the 18th hole where we standing walk me through all four shots there yeah yeah I I must have been a little bit more Juiced or the wind switched a little bit a you know we had it a little in off the right it definitely was on my second shot um a bunker was like 3 17ish and so I was like if I hit a little fade there’s no way it can get to the bunker unfortunately it didn’t get to the bunker it ended up sort of half and half so I’ve actually hit that shot at home a bit um yeah just randomly U you know I didn’t move my ball I was like you know let me try this little baseball swing here so I wasn’t too uncomfortable hitting the shot I just with the situation it would have been nice nicer to be in the fairware just in the bunker um but once I got up uh you know I’ve hit some dodgy chips in my career in in tough moments and to I just kept telling myself you know I need to prove this to myself to you know that easy up and down on 17 I hit that close and then the sort of aggressive pitch I needed to drive into this hill here wasn’t the easiest one uh you you would want versus something you know just trundling but uh I stayed aggressive and and was able to make the putt finally I I talked to you last week exactly a week ago and I asked you I said you haven’t won in nearly two years are you frustrated you gave me a wonderful answer you said the next time I win it’ll be even sweeter how would you describe the sweetness not only winning again but winning a major championship it’s it’s so sweet yeah it is uh I I just I can’t wait to celebrate uh with my family and my wife and and my entire team congratulations SRA sha PJ champion
