oh hour two baby you you tasked me with finding a stat for you in the break and I found it it’s hard to find the deeper stats sometimes they’re hidden in in the quaries and the nooks and the crannies the expected batting average of Max Kepler who we talked about the babip is at 342 you want to take a guess for fun for S’s and G’s what it might be here the expected batting average 272 265 244 gosh 244 he’s inting 315 why 244 that’s that’s a wrong number well is it or is it time to sell max Kepler I yield my time to the gentleman from Long Island thank you Queens Queens Bayside Queens ladies and gentlemen this is fantasy now you’re from that’s true I’m a county guy tax to the gills fantasy sports today where we carry on our conversations both off the air and on the air to keep it one big group and that’s why we are always looking for the best Advantage here so let’s take a look at some of the headlines here as it pertains to guys that are going on the iil guys that may be coming off and how we can try to take advantage of the joke all right well we got to start with the Down News guess what another guys haven’t Tommy John stop me heard this before emit shean unfortunately a guy that we had some mild expectations for especially after last year’s rocket Ascension through the minor league system of the Dodgers a strikeout machine well now he might be more machine than mad when he returns from Tommy John surgery so best of luck to mgan his recovery we’ll see you sometime I don’t know August of next year there you go that’s depressing Trey Turner uh dealing with his hamstring injury he is going through agility drills so that must be fun to watch maybe he’s running through some ladders or some cones running around stuff there some garbage can exactly what he’s doing um DJ lahu Min League rehab assignment is starting right now for him so we’ll see where he fits in the question is who’s out in that Yankee lineup when DJ lameu comes back is DJ lameu an everyday player Oswaldo Cabrera started off red hot but he has falling off dramatically he could be the odd man out that would be my guess so might be time to start dropping him to the waiv wire again Lane Thomas working his way back from the scen MCL he ran the bases my guess is you’re still looking for another couple weeks of him now here’s the question do we get James Wood before this return of Lane Thomas because if we don’t when Lane Thomas returns then that creates even more of a log Jam Edie Rosario has not hit at all uh to me I just don’t get it I mean I’m sitting here and I am kind of like Tom Hanks and big where I just I’m in the meeting and I just don’t get it you got to explain to me why it’s fun to play with a skyscraper that turns into a robot it’s not fun it’s not fun James Wood is fun he’s got power he’s got speed he’s the piece the crown jewel of that trade that you made for Juan sto where you want to show something to the fan base besides CJ Abrams so what are we doing here I know our our esteemed colleague and friend Samy Arnell is asking the same question but Matt what are the Nats waiting for when it comes to James Wood just bring this guy up already let’s see what he’s five strikeouts looking very good working his way back from the oblique issue Jeffrey Springs remember him Matt remember last year Jeffrey Springs was unbelievable and then Tommy John face live hitters on Wednesday so maybe maybe by July 4th could it be it’s possible Shane B more help is coming don’t worry Ray fans you are got a crap ton of pitching and nobody else does get Junior cero up so you can have some offense but Shane B is also working his way back one run three in the third Innings on Thursday’s re assignment Byron buckton will be a minor league rehab assignment with that knee issue so that’ll be fun until he gets hurt again and uh Garrett Whitlock is the one guy I want to focus on here because Whitlock before the injury mat was really good four games 18 Innings four earned runs a 1.96 erra a 1.15 whip 17 strikeouts to seven walks Garrett Whitlock was finally looking like the guy I feel like the last two years we’ve talked about Garrett woodlock in the upside they would bounce back between the rotation and the bullpen it feel like a like a man without a country and now Garrett Whitlock you know we went into the season early on there and Geo got hurt and it was Whitlock was locked into this rotation spot and he looked like he was comfortable he looked like he was ready to dominate this is the kind of prototypical what they look like pitcher right big strong guy big hos throwing hard like this is what you want if you’re the boss in Red Sox and then the oblique issue so there’s a chance in some leagues that have limited I spots where maybe just maybe Whitlock got dropped in your league I’d be adding this guy immediately because I think he can be an asset what do you make of Whitlock and how important he could be to this Red Sox rotation when he returns so for the first few weeks in April the Red Sox were showing you that they could win baseball games if they can find that form again and rely on guys like Whitlock and ha and maybe make some adjustments this could be a team that can give trouble to some of those other teams in the AL East now I don’t think anyone expected the Yankees to run the way that they did remember what Tampa did last year everyone was all about them and they just barely made it through and then they had nothing to show for it at the end so I think Boston with Whitlock Hal and a few other pieces could be trouble especially in that division especially from a wagering perspective Joe you want to take a guess on the roster percentage of Garrett Whitlock Matt another fun game lots of guessing with Matt today on the show too right about now 23% I have no idea no it’s higher than that which I’m actually surprised 44% okay would have got there again 50% of leagues he’s available but that’s crazy a picture of this possible impact should be rostered to way higher that if he’s available in your league pick him up he should be again 50% of leagues right now that’s kind of crazy he should be an addition to any staff there so uh and again the Rays a lot of pitching help on the way if they get Springs and boss pepo’s been really good seali is gonna eventually get you know to show you the good version of Sali the 5 is more like a 36 everybody it’s only going to be a matter of time if effin can get a little bit more consistent once again Matt we’re going to look up at that standings what are we going to say it’s every year they’re underrated every year on the other side let’s do waiver wire I think right now this might be the most important waiver wire segment that we do on the other side and he was there in two just less than 30 feet from the cup newswire only on Sports grid the Bostonian versus the book do Lee fans stop watching hockey now or they do they root for other Canadian teams Camp no I’m not a proponent of that and it’s actually kind of bothered me that like all the people in Toronto are kind of like oh now I’m going to cheer for the Oilers like why what do you what was your affiliation with the Oilers like Canuck still exist like I don’t lose automatically and say yeah you know I’m going to cheer for the Ottawa Senators because can no I cheer for my bad the Bostonian first is the book a lot of books and outside of the New York area the uh the canes are actually favored in game one of this series I’m seeing right now I’m looking I see a minus 115 canes Rangers minus 105 I like the six and seven games prop like I like I took with Boston Toronto which we now know is going to cash uh I think it’s got a chance to go the distance going to be a long tough and it’s fun when you have someone in your life that challenges you whether it be mentally creatively I I do believe we should always have that person in in our lives and Joe you are that person for me I used a word during the break you challenged me on it I looked it up and I feel good because I think I use it in the right context or the way that I wanted to but either way I just want you to know that you are my Challenge and you make me better I appreciate let’s go to the waiver wire that was a great setup that was really good you set it up you knocked it down good on you buddy good on you cheers okay waiver wire now all kidding aside because this is important stuff there’s a lot of people out there that need this segment we’re approaching Memorial Day for season long fantasy but also for DFS and for wagering people can glean information from what we talk about so let’s start with a pitcher let’s go to Detroit what do we have yeah we got to start with ree Olsen uh you really got me on that last it was very good I gotta say it was it was really good uh but ree olon has been really good good for the Detroit Tigers uh ree Olen a guy in the minor leagues who struggled a bit uh struggled with walks at times um strikeout rate’s always been interesting but he has not always been the guy that you were looking for in terms of dependability but it’s an anything but now you might say to yourself why do I want to pick up a guy who doesn’t have a win yet on the season why pit just for the Detroit Tigers give the guy a break okay it’s that gonna be a lot of wins here for the Detroit Tigers this is not going to be the case however if you look at the numbers so far besides that a two 09 erra over those eight starts a 099 whip 47 Innings pitch 41 strikeouts so again we’re a little under where we want to be but we’re close we’re in the ballpark uh but in the last few weeks too in the last you know 15 games just unbelievable uh in the pantheon of tigers pitchers of lore you know we’ve been waiting for the mises and the Mannings and all these guys well scubba finally developed into something that was better than what any thought you know he would be I’m not saying ree Olsen is that next guy but what I am saying is if you’re looking for help with peripherals if you’re looking for a guy on two start weeks or good matchups and we’re GNA talk about him later in the show because guess what he does have a two week coming up ree Olsen should not be available right now and he’s available in a lot more leagues he’s available right now in 40% of leagues so if you’re desperate for some pitching help again win totals might be tricky but at least while he’s hot over these first eight starts maybe you get another good eight starts out of him maybe this is just the new version of ree olon where he’s not trying to again Max V everything and he’s trying to just you know find a little bit more of that fine-tuned art craft of pitching if you will this version of ree Olen is the best one I’ve ever seen it’s far better than the minor league version and he’s young enough where you can believe that this could be just a developmental step it’s not two starts it’s not five starts it’s eight starts now that’s enough to make you notice so ignore the lack of wins ignore all of that look at the peripherals the peripherals have been really good and that portends to some positive uh moments here for ree olssen coming up in the second half if you want an example a great example of pitcher versus thrower right a pitcher you’re always going to look for those K props you think Paul schemes a thrower is what Joe’s talking about now a guy like ree Olsen trying to find his way around the strike zone around the plate changing the eye level of hitters you look to those vi your peripherals as well as some longer starts all right now let’s move on to a position player and what I like is position eligibility especially at this point in the season I’m always looking for guys that can plug more than one hole uh out in Boston we have a young man that we’ve been talking about for a while here in half of the leagues he’s available let’s talk yeah look a lot of people were very excited as they should be after a really good spring for Sani Rafael and he got the starting job and then of course he’s been a little disappointing so he’s been dropped in a lot of leagues he qualifies at Outfield he qualifies at shortstop now over the last seven days again he is not hitting the ball really well this is more of a a leap of faith kind of ad this is an ad where I like the player a lot and I think this could be even a scenario where you do get that let’s send you down for a couple weeks get right and then come back so keep an eye on this guy right now again if he’s available in 50% of leagues you can probably sneak him by for a buck in your free agent budget because I do think at some point in time having watched this player play that this is a good player and I think one the Red Sox are committed to so either they’re going to continue to let him figure it out the big league level or they’ll do that typical send them down call him back up in two weeks or three weeks get the confidence rolling again for rafhaela but I do believe in the player so even though the results haven’t been there there were some moments here early in May too where you know it’s a couple homers couple doubles starting to like pull things out of it it’s more of a long-term investment than a shortterm so if your roster having a rough go maybe it’s not for you but if you’re at the top of the standings and you want to have the rich get richer this is a way to do it by starting to add talent to your roster you’re looking more to July and August and September of what a player might be able to do as they figure things out yep I love it I love where your mind is so let’s continue this conversation we talked about Jorge palanco drop or not earlier in the show for me Abraham Toro the fact that he is available in half of leagues right now says to me two things one not enough people watch all that actually play Fantasy Baseball and secondly the fact that he’s on Oakland deters people Abraham Toro at this point is your life vest if you’re in sixth place in say a 12 team League Joe well well I mean look he’s hting 298 with a 351 OBP and a 798 Ops he’s got four homers two steals he benefited from the Zack gallof injury right more playing time gallof came back but Toro is still playing so if you are looking for help with Trey Turner being out how this guy is still available I don’t know again almost half a leagues he’s still out there he should not be and another guy too that it’s more of a Band-Aid I think situation I don’t know if I belong you know or buy into the long-term solution of Mike talkman a guy that’s been around in the Yankee Organization for a while he now with the Cubs he is rostered in just 30% of leagues but he’s hitting at the top of that order for the Cubs which is a good lineup and he’s been hot there so sometimes you know you don’t scre around with a winner right that’s what you learn from bull durm folks you learn sometimes when you’re on a hot streak you just leave things alone talkman has been hot I know that there could be a log Jam in the Outfield I recognize that he’s not going to stay there but if you’re looking for Solutions where you have guys on the ilil you need some Outfield help guys are not hitting you need to bench them talkman might be an interesting stop Gap you pick up for a couple bucks you play for a couple weeks and then when the other guys get right you drop them back to the waiver wire so this is more of a exchange investment right where it’s just kind of you you know what this is you know what you’re getting into with Mike pachmann but as long as he’s at the top of the order for the Cubs and it’s something in wagering to take it a look at too yes when guys are hot whether it was Kepler last week or talkman this week run with it baseball’s a game of streaks and right now topman’s on a good one so you can can add them play him drop them when you need to and that’s a good thing Joe Pia with you here giving you everything you need in order to dominate and it’s funny we call it fantasy sports but at the end of the day Joe I really feel that considering what goes on in the real world taken against what happens in the fantasy DFS and wagering landscape I would choose the fantasy DFS wagering landscape every single time against some of the craziness that comes out of the real world and the reason I say that is because when we look at the line movement for MVP in the American League some of the stuff is crazy but crazier things have happened and sometimes you can’t write or make this stuff up so let’s start with that Juan stto obviously at the top but but there’s some things that need to be discussed what do you got this is our safe space Maddie this is our safe space let it always be a safe one for us to just talk sports for a couple hours and let everybody enjoy themselves before they get back to the Grind of reality uh yeah the grind of the America League playoff race has been a pretty good one uh Ju Soto at the top but don’t look now kids Aaron judge is getting really hot lately Aaron judge is hitting balls 500 feet which again is gonna cannibalize you know will people remember how red hot Wan soda was in the beginning of the year if it tapers off and is just you know regular old-fashioned good or excellent woto instead of other worldly it’s a long season uh I’m not sold necessarily on sto at the top I’m not sold on Judge at plus 400 or stto at plus 320 again the cannibalization is really tough tough what they have going for them the huge public profile what we talk about all the time right they’re Yankees Juan stto is a national figure so is Aaron judge so they do have that going for him that’s a big deal it’s a media War fortunately for Bobby wit you know the Royals have been a little up and down so I don’t think we’re going to be running there for him right now and gunar Henderson’s been a fun story plus 800 I don’t even know if he’s the most interesting guy on his team yet and I’m GNA get to that when we get to the long shots for MVP and I have some reasoning behind that Kyle Tucker plus 950 but uh last time I checked Matt I’m looking I’m looking at the standings you see the Astros I’m trying to find the Astros do you see where they are because they they’re kind of further down than they usually are there’s six wait move your hand a little lower there you go oh oh there it is six games under 500 right now the Houston Astros now look they’re still only five games back uh it’s early but still I don’t know if we’re there yet either I think at the top of the board it still feels like Soto it feels like the safest one I just don’t know if I’m ready to invest in it yet now on the national league side I am ready to invest Mookie Betts was the guy we talked about he’s been red hot let’s let this cook for a while and then see what it becomes and I want to say it’s cooled off but it’s cooled a little bit Otani we just talked about how good he’s been the last couple weeks Otani was my preferred guy of the Dodgers to invest in and I already have some early shares because you get the bigger numbers early on and you just take advantage of them now unfortunately some of them were also tied in parlays to Spencer Strider and that my friends is dead DOA before we really even got underway William contras has snuck in here plus 850 which has been interesting and fun and he’s been great but let’s be realistic it’s Bryce Harper plus 1200 that I want to talk about the Phillies have been good if the Phillies are good wa wire to wire for the first time in a long time I think this is Bryce Harper’s to lose he is that Onan band there again some good pieces around him but it’s the Bryce Harper show he doesn’t have a Freddy Freeman he doesn’t have a Mookie Betts don’t tell me that Trey Turners is good as mookie bets because he’s not so stop telling me that the long shots though are interesting adley Rutman plus 2700 this guy catches this guy hits this guy I think is becoming kind of the franchise guy along with gunar Henderson I’m not saying invest in it but I’m watching it carefully because I do think adley Rutman is a very interesting player and one that’s going to continue to gain a lot of momentum as the season goes on because of what he does and the other guy is well Ellie De La Cruz we talked about the top of the show Ellie De La Cruz plus 2500 wow if the Reds pitching can get on track if this guy has a 3100 season which is what he’s on Pace for Jesus Matt he might be undeniable at a certain point what do you think if the reds don’t make the playoffs but he’s 3100 is he is he’s still MVP I I think he should be and especially at that number it’s worth just putting something down and I wouldn’t sleep on Julio Rodriguez as well it’s still a very long season but I really like what you did here with this segment you gave us a lot of great options Joe I love the the concept he could be a 30 100 100 100 guy like could you imagine a guy that drives in 100 runs steals 100 bases scores 100 runs hits 30 homers it’s attainable it’s gonna be tough how many times do stri H too much Investments that you hold on to and you build wealth generational wealth is what it’s all about but when we talk about bestall and we talk about football the generational wealth for your season is built on the musthaves every show is going to give you 101 guys that could possibly be the wide receiver three in this situation forget it Joe PCP is here to cut through the noise let’s talk best ball must hav I love it let’s go well I I one of the things I’m working on right now in the new blackbook for football which is going to be out in a few weeks by the way kids if you’re really excited it’s GNA be out there on Amazon I created this again because you always want to create you wanted to be ahead of the curve so it’s not just relative position value which is a very useful tool but we’ve been talking for years now right about offensive ecosystems right and how to invest in them so what I’ve created is a system where it grades offensive line quarterback head coach and skill position players and it gives a rating basically like a a Dave Meltzer star rating for those of you who like the WWE is world or the aw worlds of things and it and it gives you a pretty good picture of what offens is to invest in and which ones you should avoid it’s very clear when you start looking at things like that in a very simple terms of when you combine all those things together who’s got those pieces to make things work to score points in the NFL and who doesn’t and I think it’s a really interesting snapshot I’m sure there’s going to be outliers I’m sure there’s going to be one or two that might be wrong but overall it’s going to be a really interesting new metric to look at when you’re trying to learn how to invest in NFL and it probably crosses over to the wagering world as well in terms of like what teams we should really be looking at especially when we’re looking for team totals you’re looking for overs on a week like all that stuff it’s all gonna match up there so keep an eye out for that so be fun uh so there you go there’s my plug let’s talk about Trey McBride now Trey McBride probably going to be the number two guy in Arizona with Marvin Harrison Jr drafted but it is going to be a very close number two and there really isn’t another guy on this team that you feel great about Z Jones comes in that’s fun but he is not a guy that’s like a Steady Eddy kind of dude and I think Tre McBride you saw the targets go up for him a guy that had a great college career great story too great kid it took him a little while to get going it certainly helped when Kyler Murray returned turn but Trey McBride is that guy now right now the expert consensus rankings he is the third tight end off the board uh overall he is going as the 43rd guy in ADP right now which is interesting because if you look at some of the early best ball uh worlds when it comes to Tre McBride he’s a little bit past that um so that is interesting he’s outside the top 50 right now it’s a it’s a small like one round kind of value but a value nonetheless because if you’re looking at say Sam leaport is first year being great okay we l to invest in now we did have some injury issues Travis Kelce is another year older I still have Kelce as the number one tight end because I’m harder to shake from these things as most people are most people want to be just followed and you know Chase the car also put Kelsey at the top until proven otherwise because he wasn’t healthy all year last year and he played through it then Mark Andrews is not healthy a lot so why not wait and pivot down to Trey McBride a guy that’s going to get you a ton of targets have a ton of upside could even at some point maybe outpace Harrison in some categories so that’s the first one to look at where if you’re a little worried about that top of the board the value right now is Trey McBride and in terms of like the expert consensus ranking I think it’s the same sort of concept where you’re looking at him as more like the third tight end than the fourth tight end off the board and I think that’s something that the ADP hasn’t adjusted to yet so first and foremost Joe has unveiled for the first time ever I would imagine this new offensive ecosystem scoring which I think is great Joe taking into consideration the offensive line the play calling the personnel and all that really gives us one score that we can look at but when you look at if you miss a Trey McBride how big is the chasm for those that that if you didn’t have them as the tight and and and you can answer that question and then take us over to Las Vegas go ahead it’s a great question actually in best ball I think it’s significant because again KD is very hit and miss now that’s nice in best ball when he hits but it’s not so much when he misses so the six great games that he has it crushes you those other weeks where he’s non-existent sometimes in the offense K Kade again is more theoretical love King Kade but I don’t think you can lock him in the way you can Trey McBride because you saw Trey McBride last year get 10 12 targets a game he didn’t see that consistently from can K pits fascinating we can theorize all day how good he could be with Kurt Cousins but hasn’t happened yet and then I’m not buying what I saw with en joku because it wasn’t with DeShawn Watson Watson’s the guy that’s going to be playing quarterback Evan Ingram he’s fine he doesn’t have the upside of McBride so yeah to me he is the best value on the board he might be the best tight end you could draft in terms of return on investment in any League this year because you know what you’re getting you know what the upside is he’s a younger player he’s a healthy player there’s just all there’s nothing but green grass in front of him and I think that is a huge thing when you’re looking at this snapshot as a whole you can poke holes in a lot of these other tight ends not as easy I think with try McBride this year okay offensive ecosystem in Las Vegas tells you what and where do you want to go we’re running the football kids we’re running the football zir white is going to be that guy they did not bring in a lot of competition they didn’t draft a lot of competition zamir white the end of last year looked like a bcow guy this is a dude from Georgia an RB Factory so another one where I don’t think you are I think people who watch shows like this everyone’s going to be on zamir white in the fantasy Community he is the rb21 consensus right now that’s absurd he’s going after ra Andre Stevenson and David Montgomery or what what the hell’s happening here that’s just name recog no it is it’s it’s Comfort level it’s name recognition and it’s just dishonest zamir white is gonna get far more opportunities than those guys and look the quarterback plays gonna be spotty muu oconnell we’ll see what comes out of it but they still have Devonte Adams they still they drafted Brock Bowers they still have jacobe Meers they have a lot to work with so that could support even below average Quarterback play to a certain extent but zamir White’s a guy already I’m very much in on he’s a great value in best ball right now all right let’s shock the world now with a quarterback talk to us about this particular player well Dak Prescott uh I know he’s very divisive I know the Cowboy fans are still very unhappy with him but I’m talking about numbers I’m talking about fantasy here I’m not talking about your fandom put that aside as a guy that led the league in touchdown passes last year do you want that guy on your team yeah yes if you don’t get an opportunity to chase the upside Elite level quarterbacks do you want a guy that’s going to be in a pass first offense yeah Ezekiel Elliott Rico dowle I mean is this this is not the back field of you know of uh you know Alvin CRA and Mark Ingram years past with the New Orleans Saints like that’s not what we’re looking at here okay this is not what it is so they’re going to be throwing the ball a ton in Dallas the opportunity is going to be there the upside there the big time weapons there I know Dak can be frustrating in real life football but this is fantasy football and he’s a really good value right now as the eighth quarterback going off the board I think you could do a lot worse than Dak Prescott and then the last guy here this is a sneaky one everyone is talking about Keon Coleman and they’re overpaying for the rookie I think a little bit Khalil Shakir has been there for a while now khil Shakir could be one of these guys in the Buffalo Bills that ends up becoming a far more Target heavy wide receiver than we realize he’s a guy that can play in the slot he’s a guy that can be that quick out for Josh Allen he is a versatile player that has some really good tape in college he’s a guy that I drafted in my Dynasty league in his rookie season because I thought this guy could eventually carve out a niche and I got him with a fifth round pick and you’re starting to look at him right now and saying well the opportunity is there and yeah they did put draft capital in Keon Coleman but sometimes those rookies take a little bit of a time to cook he’s an interesting best ball guy because you get him late and if khil Shakir doesn’t hit that’s okay he’s not going to cost anything to find out but if he does and he becomes kind of the defaul number two is guy in this offense that’s a huge return on investment from where you’re getting him right now so Shakir is another one of these guys early best ball drafts to watch and take advantage of that ADP because I do think at the end of the day the opportunity is there for a lot more than what you’re seeing so far in the early ADP because the early ADP right now frankly is kind of a joke and that that’s kind of the early snapshot of best balls right now and a lot of people have already started I encourage you do the best ball drafts early take advantage of these early values before more shows having here with Joe pipia the author creator of the fantasy black book series and this isn’t a sales pitch it really has changed the way that we as fantasy players DFS players and even Wagers start to look at Players so those that are in the world of the blackbook they know certain formulas formulas others that are not don’t Joe has created RPV right relative position value so it’s comparing players based off position to one another which gives you a much Clear example now we’re talking about this new ecosystem where he Joe looks at the offensive line the coaching the player Personnel the play calling giving you a really nice precise look at how a team is expected to perform something else that comes into play Joe is the schedule now the NFL schedule has come out so let’s talk about the fantasy impact and let’s talk more about some of these formulas that are unique to you and the blackbook and how they can help us win well one of my colleagues over at fantasy pros and good friend and blackbook contri contributor Andrew Erikson had some great analysis on schedule one of my favorite things for years I’ve been calling Jared G the indoor cat and guess what kids it’s gonna be a good time for Jared gof in 2024 he’s a quarterback being drafted outside of QB ons but last year he finished as a qb1 and he might again Jared gof won’t play outdoor football until week nine at Green Bay he will play outside a total of three times the entire NFL season so he’s not a guy that likes the elements he likes to be controlled he lik the thermostat set at 70 not a degree above or a degree below I don’t know if you’re you know I remember my parents used to fight over the thermostat on a daily basis over one or two degrees versus 71 I will never forget God it’s like it’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life but uh some fun facts here regarding Jared G now last year in 2023 he played 14 games in a dome he was 11 and3 with a 69% completion percentage averaging 2 77 yards per game 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions right 106 QB rating that’s fifth in the NFL fifth in the NFL Jared G how about the five outdoor games want to talk about the five outdoor games yes completion percentage he fell from 277 to 252 yards per game five touchdowns to four interceptions and 82 QB rating so the QB rating went from 106 to 82 that was 21st among NFL 16 spots on these Outdoors so what I’m saying to people is this if you’re in superflex leagues this year or if you are somebody that wants to be aggressive in single quarterback leagues like I do with anony Richardson Jared gof is the perfect backup to that plan if things go AR he is the perfect I want to take a position player in round one and then in round three get another good quarterback at some point in super Flex League Jared G is right there staring in the face it’s a great schedule great weapons great team a team that’s on the come I think a team that in Detroit’s going to be very tough to deal with this year I think they can get to the Super Bowl I really do they were within a hair of it last year they should have beaten the San Francisco 49ers and the 49ers know it Dan Campbell learned the hard way hopefully he has learned that’s the most important thing but Matt Jared gof looking like a decent investment this year and the stats just bared out let me tell you something that may be and I I use hyperbole sometimes but that may one of the most profound and important things that you have said on this show right now if it’s me and I’m in I’m targeting and circling Jared gof add him to the must haves we did that segment earlier I think you add Jared gof you had Dak Prescott there but you sold me now you mentioned about the schedule let’s talk about it from a wagering perspective let’s look at a team that has an easy open maybe a team that has an easy first four or five weeks because I’m always going to want to build my bank role early especially in the NFL season before things start to get uh top tury so what do we got who has an easy open yeah look again these are all theoretical injuries can change this Dynamic at any point in time so I don’t like to look past in terms of oh the schedule is so easy BL like that’s a little crazy I mean it’s it’s good to maybe cherry pick one or two and you can kind of say yeah I could see that all year but sometimes people go way over the top of this though but the openings of the year you can at least count on getting off to a good start is huge in fantasy and in wagering too easy opening for the 49ers team that went to the Super Bowl look handle your business you’re playing the Jets at home okay handle your business then you have the Vikings on the road a team that’s going to be probably playing Sam darnold the quarterback at that point in time maybe it’s JJ McCarthy either way handle your business 49ers the Rams are a little bit tougher I think Than People realize and then the Patriots are still a team that is trying to figure things out with a first year head coach 49ers can get off to a good start here there’s every possibility that they can go 4 and0 to open the season here handle your business 49ers take advantage of this schedule early on because it does get theoretically tougher as you go and historically speaking Matt teams that lose the Super Bowl I say it every single year yeah especially when they lose it in heartbreaking fashion they do not get back to the Super Bowl they let alone win the Super Bowl the next year so all you people investing heavily in the 49ers for that slow your roll go look at the data look at the last 25 years two teams two have lost a Super Bowl and gotten back there and one of them was a Tom Brady Le team so don’t look at Tom Brady as anything but the outlier to everything in life that’s true now here’s the thing though with that Jet game uh I know a lot of money will be coming in on Aaron roders and stuff so I I would be a stay away from me but it’s a good point all right let’s go to the hard open now who’s a team that’s goingon to have a tough go of it the first four or five weeks of the season I think the Ravens uh have a theoretically tough schedule here to open you’re going to get the Chiefs in Kansas City it’s always a tough place to play Kansas City’s rebuilt this offense a little bit so whether they have rice or they don’t they’ve got Hollywood Brown now not an elite level wide receiver but capable you’ve also got Xavier worthy now and a healthy Travis Kelce the Raiders are a lot trickier Than People realize again I gave you the offensive weapons list before that team plays for that young head coach there and Pierce is a really raw raw kind of fun guy the Cowboys certainly again in Dallas tougher on the road game in Dallas you G have to stop CD lamb and then the bills which again I think the bills Windows closing a little bit we could talk more about that in a second but to me that’s another one where it ain’t the easiest one out of the gate there for the Ravens uh the big winner with the schedule has got to be the Falcons you’re talking about the Atlanta Falcons a team that has a quarterback now finally has a good offensive line good defense great young weapons great schedule not just in division but also out of division this year and then the Buffalo Bills again they got this tough schedule a one schedule year but I I don’t know what to make people keep asking me every day what do you think of this guy I’m like honestly I’m not sure because the expected ER is at three okay that’s great the FIP is at 294 but then the expected FIP is at 393 so the numbers are all over the place with this guy this week he’s got two starts one against the Braves and Charlie Morton and the other against the St Louis Cardinals on the road against Sunny cray I would not be starting him I just I can’t get there Matt I know he’s been good I know I might be wrong with this I think this is a two start week that you want to avoid I know Sunny gray last two starts hasn’t been good I know the Braves offense has struggled at times I think this is like the Reckoning for Assad potentially this week maybe you see it differently would you start him this week with the two starts he’s got I I would I’d start him for one and not the other I know that’s kind of a way to get around it but here’s the thing well you can’t do that in weekly leagues you got to just leave them that’s true that’s true so so here’s the thing though when you look at Assad you got to go deeper look at Assad second and if he gets their third time through the lineup that’s why all those numbers you’re looking at are so all over the place first time through the lineup he’s great second and third time is where things could fall apart against a team like Atlanta I’d be very scared second and third time through a lineup team like St Louis not so much but if I’m married to have to make the choice it all depends on how my team is doing overall and how my pitching staff is doing as well all right now let’s go to another pitcher here who this one I think is a little bit of an easier answer but I’ll let you take the Reigns down to Tampa what do we got yeah look Taj Bradley is a pitcher that you know I’m still very excited for um I think it’s a good you know good first return for him I think we’re seeing you know the pitcher that we’ve been waiting for strikeout rate is high that’s what we think of this player now he’s got two starts one at home against Boston and tenner ha who’s been very good this year and the other at home against Michael Waka now because both of these starts are at home even though the Boston one could be a little tenuous I’m in here on taj Bradley I want the strikeouts I think both these teams could could yield that maybe he gets one win out of these two starts but I think this the exact kind of starting pitcher you want to throw out there in a two start week he’s still available in 25% of leagues so pick him up and stream him in those shallow leagues I think it’s a great start this week but yeah for me Bradley is a guy that I would start would you start him at home for these two starts yep absolutely is worth starting you can also look into first threes first fives look at totals early in the game and also you’d like to look at Tampa on run lines when they’re at home but you have to be a little careful with that this season all right let’s go down to another pitcher here we close it out in Detroit a twart pitcher what do we like ree Olen our number one waiver wire guy of the week right let’s throw him right into the fire let’s go the 2 ER the whip under one he is gonna have Michael Waka and the Kansas City Royals here for the first start on the road the second one at home against Jose BOS another guy that we told you winter was coming for and it did didn’t it Jose BOS got a little chilly in the last couple weeks after being really good to open the season I would start Reese Olson in both these I’m throwing him out there leaving them in there for the week and I’m gonna make a bold prediction ree Olsen gets his first win this week Matt what do you think of that hot take or not no not at all I’m with you I think it’s a good to situation especially considering the fact that you’ve seen Olen be able to locate his fast ball early that’s always a good sign especially for pitchers if you can continue to do that you could get get two two quality starts out of him this week all right what a jam-packed show we had for youday football talks schedule stuff some basball
