[Music] [Music] Josh Green here 4 seconds out delighted to be joined by my good friend Adam Smith this morning a couple of days now have passed since we’ve seen the outcome of Fury USC how you doing Adam I’m good thanks yeah what a weekend uh massive one obviously for for boxing the the finish of the Premier League the the golf late last night uh sport everywhere watching my old uh my old company Sky pretty much all of it but yeah I enjoyed doing the watch Along on talk sports on Saturday night um fabulous fight wonderful occasion and uh a super victory for for Alexander usk it was uh it was just what boxing needed I think after all the hype and the build up and the waiting a quarter of a century for an Undisputed clash in the blue Riven division and we got it we got uh a terrific encounter wasn’t it it was fascinating gripping uh it had everything and um yeah it was a fight that lived up to uh what the ring of fire and the king of kings and everything else they were calling it it was it was brilliant and I’m really happy for the sport I’ve seen the the clip going around of yourself Spencer and Adam and all the guys going when uh during round nine when when Alexander was really putting the pressure on Tyson looked although at that point he might be getting the knockout the emotions have they calmed down now since then absolutely I think that just shows doesn’t it we’re all passionate about what we do um Sony and Spencer and Adam and I um loved it you know we uh we were all split beforehand we weren’t sure how it was going to go um the guy was leading slightly towards fury on points uh Sunny was moving slightly towards usk it was it was you know one of those I think you could find so many different outcomes to the fight beforehand and um as it unfolded it looked like Alexander had got a terrific start got body shots flying out really took Center ring got in the Rhythm Fury came back at him won many of those middle rounds for me I thought he really found his range starting to PL his own body shots that uppercut was working a treat and it looked like Alexander then was the three stone um lighter it really looked like he was so much physic bigger uh Fury and he found his his timing and distance and then it all turns on its head again in the ninth round so yeah it was dramatic and I think that’s that’s what happens isn’t it when you’re so involved and invested in a sport you you just lose the plot a bit and I think that’s shows shows the sort of Mayhem that was going on and I love the bit where Sunny goes just just shut up no one can hear what we’re saying and it’s right everyone’s shouting over everybody and but I think sometimes you just that is the moment isn’t it that it’s uh it gets all of you and and that’s why we do it we uh we love what we do and um it was an absolute pleasure to uh to watch two guys at Elite level the best in the world and with AJ sitting there as well it was fantastic and especially in the heavyweight division too where there were real high skills on display for me faint and movement and the judging of distance and all of that it was it was great for the casuals they had that the drama at the end of the ninth round and wood Fury sort of Hang On Again and then for for the trade for the purist you had brilliant boxing skills in a tight Affair and one I thought Alexander usk thoroughly deserved to win as you you mentioned there Fury had a fair portion of the early rounds and was certainly on top during the middle rounds where did you see the momentum shift the the sort of flurry in the ninth was obviously a big part of that but it did seem maybe in the eighth round is is where usyk started getting on top where did the momentum have come from and why do you think that happened I’ve heard people call it a fight of 3/3 you know the first to more to then Fury then usk again I think one or two of those rounds were tougher to score I think the second was um I think maybe the the 10th or 11th uh just from I mean it was such a blur really and I haven’t watched it back but I my my gut feeling was the first six minutes were crucial to the fight and I thought that if USU got into a rhythm Fury was going to struggle and and he did he got into a nice Rhythm um Fury came back at him in the second round the back end of the second round and now everyone was going us us but I wasn’t sure about that second round I thought I thought maybe usk won the first minute 45 two minutes then Fury definitively won the last minute so that was one of those you could have gone either way with so if you’re looking at usk being two three up then you’re into a little bit of a lead but if it’s sort of level there then you go into the next part where for me it was all fur I thought he won like four definitely four rounds in a row but yeah you’re right the sort of eight usyk got a second win and he came out and he went back to what he was doing right at the beginning and then he looked in uh in real control apart from times where Fury came back at him in the last uh six seven minutes but that ninth round was was so dramatic and and some people’s eyes should have been stopped I mean the Bell was there the ref was there he he he was given everything wasn’t he Tyson plus that minute to to recover and we asked him in the studio whether it I mean it would be enough and I remember Spencer said in no way is that enough you know he’s he’s he’s not going to make it and to be to be fair to him and his team and the conditioning that Titan Fury was in and the comeback ability that he has the man it was incredible to see him go through and it was brilliantly he went the distance I think so as much as I understand why people thinkig it may may have been stopped in that that ninth round and I’m sure if there were a few more seconds it would have been but I actually as a fight fan really enjoyed the fact it went full distance so we got to see whether Fury could come back and maybe in that last round try and get the knockdown or or or something to level it up or or even Nick it but for me Alexander us won by by two probably three rounds um something like that I have to go back and score it properly again it was all a bit manic in the studio but I certainly felt he won the fight um and I thought he won the fight not comfortably not sort of like that but I thought he won it well and um I was surprised that there was a split decision for me won the fight and uh cemented his play is um not only one of the alltime great which you knew before but a complete phenomenon um and somebody that’s surely top of the pound-for-pound list now and at all due respect to Terence Crawford and now in way and all the other guys fighting for that you know that that the one we all debate about the the pound-for-pound but but for me as a heavyweight as well and somebody’s come up and just turn the cruiserweight division on its head one Olympic gold and everything else before him 335 am wins there can be no other person at the top of that pound for pound list than Alexander RI and what a what a lovely guy and what an amazing emotional time for him and his country going through a Savage War a very very difficult time for Ukraine and he is a guy that that went on the front Lin you know moved his family to safety that is that family man and uh he’s been waiting and waiting patiently for for his chance and and he took it and uh fair play I mean the both of them deserve enormous respect and cred I thought it was a great fight and uh Tyson Fury was was terrific as well at times but for me it was alexand rix’s night and he deservedly is Crown the Undisputed heavyweight champion in the first since lanx Lewis it’s it’s brilliant for the sport and what’s great Josh is that it delivered all the hype and all the buildup and at times nonsense as there always is and people saying oh you know is it going to be any good will it be a chess match all of that I loved it um I don’t know about you but I thought it was great you mentioned that but obviously one judge scored in favor of Fury 114 113 Tyson obviously thought he won the fight he said that in his post press conference he said that in the corner his team from the last two rounds were telling them he was he was up in the fight he was going to win the fight and he just needed to box for those two rounds can you see a scenario where Tyson won the fight many people had it close uh some scored I think Richie would all in the feed we were watching scored at a draw um a lot have it to usk that I spoke to by same sort of margin as I did two three some had it wider at four maybe five I think the years pole on sky was was four up to usk um you know commentary can sway too we watched it with the sound down um the four of us Studio were no doubt who won the fight um that’s what we felt it’s subjective uh the fighters are in there they may be feeling different things also Sugar Hill and Andy Le two of the most experienced and in my eyes best Cor in the business so maybe they did see it that way maybe they gave some of those earlier rounds those first three to Fury um because he definitively won that that section in the middle there’s no question about that so then if you give him a one maybe early even two and then one or two down the backstretch it does completely tighten it up and maybe even his Fury a tight Victory win but not for me um usk won enough of those rounds um but it was 75 and the knockdown to make it three point deficit it was something along those lines um I think if it had been a draw or a fury win I certainly would have felt that was the wrong result I don’t think it would have been a robbery or a disgrace no way it was a close fight and it was a a tight fight during some of the rounds and one or two of those were really difficult to score but I think over the course of the fight and obviously with what happened in the ninth round for me Alexander usk won the fight and Alexander it deserves to be the Undisputed champion no question but there is a rematch does Tyson Fury deserve to to do it all over again the rematch of course he does he was he was brilliant on the night um in my opinion Alexander R it was that little bit better I thought it was just his most perfect display in many ways I mean David and Goliath a three stone weight difference he’s he’s beaten AJ twice legitimately um wider I thought the first time but both times I nearly stopped in in the in the Pro round and everyone was saying you know Alexander is punch B is going to make no difference well he nearly stopped AJ in the first fight right the end of their fight he nearly stopped Tyson Fury so maybe they’ll be thinking differently about that um I think the truth is both AJ and and Tyson Fury are Elite heavyweights two of the best heavy weights that we’ve ever seen certainly of our era but this guy Alexander Rusk is is a magician and he’s done it bruiserweight he’s done it through the amateur winning everything as a as an unpaid and look what he’s done unified the Cruiserweight division Undisputed winning the Super series coming up having everyone said he’s not big enough criticizing performances against Derek chisora and others I thought he won comly against Derek chisora and other fights okay the de fight was the one that people were questioning to the body you Fighters can have off nights Tyson had an off night against Dr M dur also he had an off night against France and Garney he’s also had some amazing nights and some unbelievable wins against Deontay Wilder and dillian white was was almost effortless and fantastic success Tyson Fury so for me Tyson Fury is you know has been unbelievable for the sport both in and out of the rim and it’s not over he’s got a rematch he could win the rematch then AJ’s out there there’s others as well the heavyweights in a couple of weeks time jalay Jang and jont Wilder de herich what a great time the heavyweight boxing fantastic what turkey Alik and Dr Ran and all the guys over there Spencer Brown George Warren Eddie and Frank Smith everybody that’s put this together it’s fantastic it’s wonderful it was a great card as well uh with Anthony Kat was brilliant against Joe Cina um you had J patar as well fantastic card um tury’s favorite Mark Jamin getting the win as well um and really like AIC cavel I think he’s great I think he was great when I saw him against magov over there in s think he was fantastic I said to the guys you the Santos fight said I really like this guy I really like him he’ll chip away and chip away and he’ll break this his heart so um it was it was good for one sh to get one right I’m not sure I got the main event right because I was like this and that and this and that but I think can win if he gets in the Rhythm I think he can I think he’s the better technical guy and he’s got the speed and the ring C but I kept leaning back towards what I first thought when the fight was announced which was Tyson Fury will find a way um he very nearly did um I don’t get to his corner I think maybe that he was in in the lead some of those rounds they say were hard to score my feeling was that us it was but um you know the three judges are the ones that count we always say that two went to us one went to Fury for me the the score I think was 1 152 to to Alexander us it was just about about the right one for me but I wouldn’t quibble if it was one or two um Alexander us it won the fight did know you think Josh but that’s what I felt yeah I it I had it 115 112 for what it’s worth um my colleague aan Khan spoke to a former colleague of yours Mr Johnny Nelson yesterday and he described um Tyson Fury is a walking contradiction we know some of the comments that were made in the leadup to the fight describing usk as a middleweight um of referencing the size difference quite clearly on multiple occasions he obviously now come out on the the wrong side of the result to Alexander usk and I think it would be fair to say there were moments of show voting possibly moments of disrespect as well in the leadup and during the fight do you see theur is a contradiction at all I think tyton Fury is Titan Fury we know what we’re going to get in in that way and that he’s going to say different things and polarized opinion um as I said we know what he’s going to say he’s unpredictable so we don’t know what he’s going to say what I mean is he’s he’s marate he polarizes it all he’s he says what he believes one day he wakes up he thinks one thing one day he thinks another thing well I do know deep down he has got enormous amounts of respect for Alexander whoit and always has and and vice versa you know these guys um they can they can play around with the with the Press with the media they can they can uh you know vote mind games and various other stuff in in buildups and have fun and this is where they get big followings and and create characters personalities which is why we’re fascinated with with the sport why we want to watch them that’s that’s the important thing isn’t it whether you love Tyson Fury or hate him you want to watch him um so no I don’t I don’t think it’s any problem at all and that’s what he does I don’t think he’s any different to what he’s always done certainly what he’s done ever since he had the the comeback from being what 24 25 stone and he’s sort of laid it all on the line being very open about mental health being very open about his feelings and and how he can change and and one day think one thing one day think another thing but I’ve spoken to Tyson enough over the years to know how much he respects other Fighters he respects Anthony Joshua immensely he respects alexand Rus everyone that gets in the ring and especially the ones at top level but of course he’s going to you know say the the sausage the this the that but you know this is this is why he s of you know love to to to have him in the surface I mean he’s uh you know he’s playing his role isn’t he but boy can eat fight you know Tyson Fury is a phenomenal boxer always has been wonderful wonderful to see him through the amateur professional ranks and you know utilizing his height and reach his speed his slightly unorthodox whereare boxing I guess but it’s fantastic it’s worked for him it’s been brilliant and uh there’s some people think he looks bit a bit clumsy at times he uses his weight I think I think he showed again on Saturday night when he boxes he can be quite breathtaking he’s fantastic you know when he gets those skills gr didn’t he got his Jam utilized well enough in those first two three four rounds that was that was probably a mistake but I think he was quite surprised at the way us took it to him so quickly I mean the pace that us accept the Rhythm the you know the the cutting the corners was just absolutely brilliant but no Tyson Fury is going to say what he says um I think there is respect after he said he won the fight and and maybe yeah should have congratulated Alexander a little bit more and said it was your night but obviously they that’s what they felt and it’s the heat of battle and you know he’s watched at that probably thinks the same maybe he thinks he him W the fight and that’ll be the fuel he needs for the rematch and others will say you know can he get himself up for it again it’s his first defeat he’s never lost before officially so this will be very interesting to see how he uh how he recovers he’s got multi multi-millions in the bank but Tyson Fury’s a fighter and I think Tyson Fury will be back stronger I think he’ll have learned from that I he’ll go back to the drawing board and I think he’ll find a way that he believes he can win the the rematch uh comfortably um I think alexand usk will feel he can win it comfortably now he’s he’s shown that he can last with TW the 12 rounds with Tyson Fury not just that but hurt him and have him on the very very brink of stoppage as well and then there’s the people that are going to say Tyson Fury is on the slight decline that he was hit a little bit too easy and that the ninth round was just a show but you used those recup Powers I don’t think you can keep going to the well I think with Tyson you know he’s had those massive sort of great nights and then the sort of slight Falls and in other fights haven’t been quite as good being a bit lackluster and stale whereas for me usyk’s been very very consistent methodical dedicated disciplined you know never ever out of shape he’s just he is just just he’s a little bit like um his little friend vasel lenko they’re just two wizards aren’t they they’re two wizards from the Ukraine who’ve uh set the world you know a light in many ways maybe not in their boxing styles because it’s it’s it’s more we can appreciate them as purists but um just in what they’ve done what they’ve achieved coming out of Ukraine coming out of the situations that they have um not the easiest in in in in growing up and and what they’ve done for their for their country and and coming out like that it’s uh you got to take your hats off to both of them and what they’ve done and I think it’s been fantastic and I think they have you know they’ve thoroughly deserved their success the of them and seeing that both of them have great wins in the last you know few few days has been has been brilliant but you know usk’s got the big win but no I don’t I don’t think Tyson Fury he’ll probably say he’s a contradiction because he wakes up every day and he says something different of course that’s what he is but do I think there’s a lack of respect there for for Fighters and ultimately I think he he really does respect them and I do know and I’ve known for a long time that he wants to fight Anthony Joshua and that’s not a running away from him and the same with AJ but just want to fight and uh I think you’ll see in 10 years time you get Fus Fury us and Asia in a room together I think three of them will be like the holy for L and Tyson AR now um you talk about the rematch there and maybe what Tyson has do we know that’s set for provisionally October time um what do you believe that that Tyson Fury has to do in that rematch to turn things around and and make it one all start quicker um don’t you you mentioned the show boting um he probably thought he was going to have it easier he probably thought Lu couldn’t hurt him um learned a hard lesson in the ninth round um now he does know he can be hurt um I think he’ll have to be um he’ll have to really be on his toes a lot more um and I think maybe he’ll have to try and back up usyk a bit too because he did get sort of run around a lot and usyk did find a way of of taking the ring away from Fury in many ways backing him up Fury needed more room when he found that the middle part of the fight you got real success when he had you know usk at range he was brilliant the way he was unleashing those long lethal shots you know from all angles I thought he was fantastic so more of that um better jab um start quicker and yeah there’s no reason why he couldn’t win the rematch um but us will start favor next time because of what he’s done this time he won the fight and uh and he’ll grow Confidence from that as well um he’s the youngest 37 year old probably in the world um and Tyson might be one of the oldest 35 year old so there’s there’s that to look at too um but it’s still going to be these two could do 36 rounds of boxing and it’s going to be like that and with AJ and usk everyone says okay he lost twice AJ he was better in that rematch and he’s improving under Ben Davidson again looked fantastic so you wouldn’t say no to an AJ usk bird fight down the line there’s so many uh different um per perations of of the lot there’s so many different ways it could work out but I do believe that AJ and fury is still the fight people want to see so let’s see what happens in the in the second fight of the rematch let’s see if AJ wins in September against herovic or du let’s see what happens and by the end of the year the path should be clear either to AJ Fury for the Undisputed or if if usk has still got Undisputed AJ’s got a choice does he take Fury or does he go for the uh the usip rematch and it will probably become Undisputed because that’s always been his intention and then the Tyson Fury AJ fight still Waits but that fight will always sell we know that that fight will sell this year next year in three years time um even when they’re really old that fight Still Still sells we got K Brook way way way too late we just don’t want it too late but that s and let’s hope that’s a and final one for me we didn’t fully touch on that ninth round and and fury being wobbled um at that point did you think that the fight could have been stopped I mean I think there’s there’s there’s certainly an argument to be said that in other instances when it wasn’t Undisputed it wasn’t a fighter with Fury’s history it could have been stopped yes I think you can look at it like that you can look at it some people have said if it was usk um in that position would he have been stopped um I think that’s a little unfair uh referee’s got a job to do in there um mind who’s the a the B fighter or Who’s the champion that you want you don’t want the referee’s in there to do an unbiased job you know he’s there to protect the fighter if he thought Tyson Fury couldn’t continue he would have waved it off uh um I thought it was very very close and uh definitely the ropes the Bell maybe the referee gave that extra little helping hand I don’t know I don’t referee really should be criticized and I saw somebody I really respect Luke Campbell online say it definitely should have been stopped it was a disgrace um I think it is an Undisputed fight um and as we saw if titon F come out for the 10th round and been all over the place and then you worry about his his health and the referee could have stopped it there and then then people would have said yes he should have but he didn’t he came back he found his legs again and he boxed to the end of the fight so although in many ways Alexander was was sort of that bit was taken away that that that sort of crowning moment of the stoppage win um I don’t have many problems with it I think the fact is that that Fury came back and he showed that the recuperation Powers were there and that uh and I think that would have been more cont controversial it would have been like Fury be would have gone mad the fury camp and it would all have turned really nasty and at the end of the day you’ve got 12 rounds you got a decision you know Fury can be disappointed that he lost but one judge scor it to him you know the right man won Alexander us however the cards have it so we got the right results and I think that’s the most important thing to look back on and the drama for the Casual fans in the ninth round it was that close for me to being stopped or should have been stopped but um but the Bell saved him and uh he went out to to to round 10 and uh we go on to a big week Josh we got GBM on Friday night at York h can’t wait for that show it’s a it’s a pack show um Benjamin and and Bing stall and and we’ve got tyy Gallagher and Stevie Levy and Razer and LIF go in an unbeaten matchup and Michael King and and Tommy Welsh all sorts on there fantastic night Friday Lawrence aoli out in Poland I can’t wait to see how he does in that fight on foreign soil really looking forward to it my business partner Duncan’s going out that part of his corner and then on Saturday night the big one we’ve got Taylor and catell 2 what a fight was before what a what a controversial outcome that was and big debate and uh controvery Sparks interest and Eddy’s whip them up again and here we go and leads on Saturday can’t wait for it great great nights ahead so boxing’s thriving and then it’s the five V5 so you almost can’t draw breath after the weekend but we should we should draw breath just to acknowledge Alexander rer because uh you know one of the greatest Sportsman alive today he’s been unbelievably professional consumate professional wonderful to work with um a very intelligent and and curious and nice guy a family man who who was you know missed the the uh the birth of his young daughter Maria during all of the buildup and all that and that’s tough that’s tough Tyson goes as he said goes back to his seven kids I think it is with Paris um in moram and uh yeah they both go home a lot richer and uh they both go home with with pride most certainly intact and they can look back at an extraordinary battle they have for the Undisputed both can be immensely proud but for me Alexander R takes all the treasure and uh and just has the the victory of his career and um yeah I’m delighted for it Adam always um great to get your Insight really appreciate your time this morning bright and early and uh yeah look forward to catching up soon cheers Josh take care have a good week [Music] oh [Music]

I think the relief of the 9th has gone to your heads, without the 9th it would've been a Fury win. Respect due to Usyk from turning it back from the loss.
Rematch won't take place as Fury will now put on 300 pounds again
usyk won that fight by 2 rounds for me
It wouldn't of been a robbery it would of been a gross injustice and perversion of the truth for all of mankind.
If l was Usyk l would retire now! Depart on top of the boxing world, Undisputed! And let aj and fury fight for the scraps of 2nd and 3rd place! Retire and give no quarter to fury with a possible rematch because trust me if fury won that fight on Saturday there would be no rematch! 😉
Total Absolute Muppet…. Fury was outclassed and outboxed and ref was a complete cunt
Yeah, if Fury was announced the winner, it would be a butyof a robbery.
No disrespect to Fury, a very impressive career. But yeah, Usyk won that, as close as it was.
Usyk won more rounds AND had the knockdown….
Clear winner
Did u count the 2 knock downs from usyk as there was clearly 2 and not 1
Fury got brakes beaten out off him
Tyson won end of story
Talk shit re-match fury is toast.
Fury best was not good enough 😊
Usyk won by a point , two at most…
Yes it would have been a robbery. Usyk out-landed Fury in 7 rounds while few others were very close . And round 9 was 10-8 in favor of Usyk. So you can twist how you want , but the referee saved your boy and Usyk won by a few rounds clearly.
Chap is delusional.
wow, but the ref saved fury from an absolute onslaught of final punches when he was already finished
Tyson fan right here 😂 bless
So fury winning 4 rounds and getting dropped is enough for a fight not to be a robbery?
Usyk 1-3 Fury 4-6 Usyk 7-11 12 toss up.
Usyk 8-4 with a knock down.
even if you’re insanely biased and you say it’s 6-6 Usyk still clearly wins because of the knockdown.
No debate. Usyk won.
The man needs to be defuryised like a lot of Brits who bought into , or perhaps bullied into , the Fury hype . As to a rematch , no way , Usyk should retire at the top , with all the shit thrown his way they don't deserve a rematch . It's over live with it .
This was my scorecard with the sound off so the poison that was the pro Fury commentary could colour my view.
Usyk Fury
1 10 9 10-9
2 10 9 20-18
3 9 10 29-28
4 10 9 39-37
5 9 10 48-47
6 9 10 57-57
7 10 9 67-66
8 10 9 77-75
9 10 8 87-83
10 10 9 97-92
11 10 9 107-101
12 10 9 117-110
It definitely would have been a robbery if Tyson had won! Dont get fooled!
Even in defeat the fury’s still put fear in these British bias pundits 🙃
Adam is spot on here
I don't think rematch will happen, I think Fury did everything including losing fat but it didn’t work, what more can he do now?
