The former South Knox star helped his alma mater host the first ever 36 hole one day tournament sanctioned by the IHSAA.
we are a little over a week away from boys golf sectionals here in the hooer state and down in Knox County the South Knox Spartans wanted to put on a first of its kind 36 holes in one day golf invite to give players a better feel of what it would be like golfing on a bigger stage while also preparing them for the playoffs Spartans reached out to several community members to make this happen and even had help from one of their most notable alumni the South Knox Invitational hosted by PGA tour pro Adam shank featured 12 of the top teams in the state converging on Cypress Hills Golf Course and vincon over to the third hole South Knox top golfer Cameron chatton with this little chip in that just refused to drop there for birdie he’d go in and tap in to finish off the hole hole nine Vincent’s Lincoln’s Landon Davis left with the six- foot putt he saves par while drilling that one back to the third hole we now know that Adam shank is the best distance putter on tour so you know what terot sells pton Turner tried to channel that there with this 20-footer it just refuses to break for the cut he tap in for par with so many top golfers and schools competing in this inaugural event South Knox coach Malcolm dubs credits the ihsa and Adam shank for their help in the support of this first of its kind High School meet and to be able to get Northern teams to come down from the north and come South we were fortunate enough and lucky enough to have a homegrown player that plays on the PGA tour and Adam shank so we sat down with Adam some months ago and decided hey what can we do to make this a top level top notot event we invited 12 teams 10 of the 12 accepted and then we had two County teams that decided as well to play and that was that Adams request that the County’s represented as well here at bense
