coasts of California our tour has arrived out west the Port Town of Stockton May differ from the bay but there’s no doubt the home of OTB reflects a California state of mind and underneath the sunshine lies our first test at West Swenson Park a bomber course requiring power and accuracy will we see a return to Victory from former Champions three time Champion Paige Pier or can those on the brink this year finally break out one thing is certain Victory this week will require only the best the 2024 OTB open Starts Now [Applause] good afternoon dis golf fans and welcome into Stockton California at Swenson Park disc golf course the 2024 OTB open presented by MVP dis Sports is underway and it’s the afternoon show Brian arhart n Perkins this Tournament Central Time to lead you into the no action that’s about to unfold this afternoon but first let’s quickly recap what went down in the foo division this morning quite a few players shooting really hot on this property what do you think yeah perfect day out here at Swinson I mean no humidity whatsoever when we woke up the wind was down you know it’s in high 60s low 70s when these these players were out there tossing and it was perfect scoring conditions and these are as good of numbers as we see all year on Foo we’re still a few Strokes behind paig Pierce’s 12 under par in this layout a couple of years ago but nine under was the number today by Holland Hanley she still doesn’t have an Elite Series but how many times Brian have we seen Holland at the top after round one probably double digit at this point in her career she probably has more Elite Series lead cards without an Elite Series win than anybody else in the field can she do it this week I think she can absolutely do it this week look at her scorecard she started out four for four got six 8 9 10 look at that front 10 hole stretch that’s that’s that’s just perfect disc golf right there yeah she got a couple Bogies in the back stretch but I think a lot of players are going to do that double Bogies are right around the corner on a lot of these holes if you’re not clean off the te if you misread the wind this is in that wind range where you’re not quite sure whether or not the wind’s going to fully affect your shot do you need to change discs in your bag uh so I feel like Holland did exactly what you needed to do today I don’t think you’re going to need to shoot a 12 under par at all this round so I feel like or this whole weekend I don’t think you have to shoot that number so I think she’s in a great spot can she continue this pace as the weekend moves on uh personally I think it’s time I think a lot of people are thinking it’s time but we did talk to her after her round today let’s take a listen to what she had to say all right joined here in the clubhouse Holland Hanley nine underpar effort on round number one how you feeling about it oh great I mean I was just chilling today they they started us off with like uh Superstition playing while we were teeing off on whole one and I was like feeling that and just kind of try to keep that all day they had the Stevie Wonder playing they had Superstition going when you were teeing off are you a superstitious player are you a superstitious athlete not superstitious but I’m a little bit stitious okay I’ll take that I’ll take that I mean you know some some little things like I definitely right now I I think my my red shirt is my lucky shirt so I saving that for for the last day and uh I I try to wear black on moving day like I got a couple little little things I do slightly above average dishes but Le let’s uh talk about the round a little bit how’s the course playing when there’s not much wind out there is it pretty attackable oh it’s very attackable um yeah really it’s just a few key spots where you need to really think about it before you get too aggressive and um if you if you’re going to make a mistake there is definitely a right and a wrong mistake to make um you don’t want to end up in the water short or OB early or anything like that um and then yeah that’s pretty much it 9 under par currently the best round of the day but you had two bogey out there talk about the Bogies and are they mistakes that you feel like you have to make adjustments for um not really the the first one was whole 12 I believe what was that part four where you got the the pawn shot as the second shot and honestly out of my hand I thought it was perfect and I came up just a couple feet short um so not too worried about that might just aim a little bit more to the right so I get kind of that fatter Landing Zone um and then the second one was just like a little bit of a brain fart missed a short putt um I only missed two short putts today so I’m not really too worried about it well Holland it was a great start and under power we’ll see you tomorrow hey above well I think uh I think Holland again did exactly what she needed to do and I love her mindset right now she’s doing just fine she knows what she needs to do to keep shooting good this weekend the out of bounds on 12 can get cleaned up and couple little micro adjustments here and there but she she’s in the right spot moving on C merch dropped an incredible first round eight underpar effort she got done second on the day they just absolutely flew through the round she said she was very grateful to have the second tea time of the day which I think is a great mindset you’re not playing with any backups you’re not going to have to worry about any of those pinch points on the course where two three card backups can sometimes present themselves they flew there was a four card difference between them and the card behind them so uh they were all in a good space but catch has played great today yeah I heard she played in a threesome today as well and you like playing with less people and and playing the course pretty quick Brian you feel like it it helps the the overall scores well if you’re towards the top playing in a threesome it’s awful you’re always catching the group in front of you but if there’s just one group ahead of you that’s just easy goinging all day that’s Best of Both Worlds really so uh I think the conditions were great for her to shoot the round she she did clean ate under par cat was in control today she said there were some putts that she not necessarily was proud of she feels like she can clean them up a little bit um four for seven from Circle one so almost 50% on the day uh got to clean that up she’s got to pick her sides of the green that’s the big thing with cat merch it’s not like she has this super direct Christen tar Style no wobble spin putt she has a very Pitch Putt oriented style and she has to be a little bit more choosy when it comes to where she puts her approaches yeah definitely has to be conscious of what side of the basket she’s landing on and today was the calmest of the three the wind kind of it doesn’t Peak until the late afternoon so for this n round we’re going to see it pick up towards that 15 to 20 mile per hour but for Saturday and for Sunday it’s going to Peak a little earlier and so the FBO is going to have to deal with a little bit more wind and I agree with you I think that merch’s putt when it’s calm and it’s in the woods it looks good but it is susceptible to being affected by the wind so we’re going to have to see how she’s able to dial in that Putt and a trend that we’re noticing Brian the finish here at Swinson is tough it looks like a lot of the scoring is done on those first like 12 13 holes what do you think it is about the finish that is just that much more difficult than the rest of the course 17 18 are funny there there’s certain positions on these holes where you get tempted to do something so silly and a lot of times you bite unless you’re very disciplined 17 I think is a perfect example that low ceiling kind of creates this really challenging t-shot that you have to throw fast on and clear as as much ground as you can otherwise you’re in that position where you’re like okay I know distance-wise I can get to the green but but should I actually try to challenge this and get up to the basket and a lot of times you make the wrong decision let’s fly this hole right now low ceiling got to bite off some distance what do you think here Nate I love this hole and Leonard used the oak trees that are here at Swinson to Perfection and you need at least 330 ideally you’d like to get something out there in that 360 range and if you’re too far left you’re going to have that ceiling that you were talking about on the approach and the prevailing wind direction here on 17 is ahead right to left so most of the time players are swinging and out over that water and having to trust that the wind isn’t going to flatten their disc out and cause them to throw their Force shot from you know 250 short and this bucket is only 15 maybe 18 ft from The Waters Edge right there this is playing as the fourth hardest hole but because of where it sits in the around this is one that we see a lot of people really struggle on I think the placement of the hole is very important because yes you want to go for those late heroics you want to go for the green and stick a birdie that can potentially take a stroke on the rest of the field and then a lot of players don’t necessarily accomplish that task so yes the finish here is is brutal and we’ll talk probably more about 18 as the weekend goes by because I put that in the same category Nate our perks picks are starting to look pretty good for our pick twos Holland hanley’s in first place and then Ella Hansen goes eight under par she’s tied for second place going into the second day of competition you watched Ella all day what are your thoughts well the distance is just so casual for Ella I mean right here she’s going seven speeed on a 360 foot hole a lot of players are throwing driver right there the distance is an advantage it’s not all that you need to score her approaches were on point and then the forehand look at the where where she’s delivering years past we’ve seen her nose up heer find the water right there she Parks the seventh here’s another forehand approach across the water on the ninth they look great after a boom and drive yet her forehand approaches and then these butts right here the 20 foot looks she went on to cash that one here’s another great forand approach another water carry another one here on 12 and that’s money as well goes on to make that 20-footer there it is Nate we’ve watched her for years now mess up a lot of those forehands and say okay she played amazing but then you look back at where The Strokes were bled a lot of times it’s on that forehand side and her releases are beautiful when you watch her practice and now this forehand is a deadly weapon in the consistency is much better and I think this is why we’re seeing her on the up and up she’s had some fantastic finishes recently at MCO Champions Cup and that’s why I picked her in my pick two this week because she’s trending upward right now and I feel like it just takes a little extra push for her to get those few strokes and actually take down a victory this season I think she can do it another person that I think can still defend the title as Paige Pierce Nate Paige is starting to get some speed back and I think a lot of people are noticing I think she’s absolutely back I mean that she’s showing no signs of you know lack of distance right now Brian she she has plenty of speed it’s it’s how she’s choosing to harness the speed is the only thing I think that Paige is missing right now now I feel like sometimes she’s aggressive in the wrong spots and is almost just trying to do too much at times but this right here she found the stroke from Circle 2 I feel like this putt is what she’s been missing to kind of just get in that rhythm you’re not going to park every hole but this year she just hasn’t been making as many as years past look at this Fierce butter shot oh my gosh this is the type of shot that we’ve been missing from the foo division not a not a single other player in the field still throws that shot I mean Kristen tar doesn’t throw putter backhand approaches she’s leaning on the forehand that like 300 and in Fierce putter shot is something that Paige used for all five of her world titles we just haven’t really seen her dialed at that speed and and approach distance yet and today she showed me that she has it Brian I absolutely think paig Pierce is back and I think she could defend here we got a lot more to talk talk about we have the no coming up this afternoon we’re going to take a quick commercial break and then on the other side we’re going to see talking about last year my first practice round uh coming up to 18 green was almost emotional for me and it just brought all that feeling back and just I mean a year ago I was speechless I still am how does it feel to be a dgpt champion it feels so good like uh yeah I have been short like time I have been like waiting for this kind of and uh yeah it feels good and there’s so much things that came with the win like the final spot in the dgbd Championships which was one one of my biggest goals this year and uh I kind of feel a bit empty to be honest to to and why is that I think it came so quick I didn’t even like I wasn’t sure if the win would qualify me there or anything like that and now I got got the information that it did so I kind of feel feel a bit bit empty and uh but uh still yeah super excited about it are you able to you know kind of hold on to you know the Rhythm and the routine that that led to good putting at DDO yeah um putting was really good that final round at DDO I wouldn’t even say was great the first two rounds but um I felt pretty good out at Vegas uh made most of my putts out there I actually for that final round at DDO I put a new I used a completely new putter for the bag I just need to change something up so um and those Putters are that one and the next new one I put in they’re they’re flying really good right now Nate let’s start out by talking about Emerson Keith you You’ known Emerson Keith for a very long time you guys are both Texas boys youve watch watched him grind weekend you know weekend after weekend after weekend in Texas and now full-time for however many years he just doesn’t lose that competitive spirit I mean he won last year and then comes into the season hasn’t been a great year but he’s still going out and playing leagues he’s playing Flex starts he’s he is all in what what can you tell us about Emerson Keith and and can the energy from last year’s win take him to the victory again I I honestly Brian am a little worried about the nerves from last year’s when affecting Emerson cuz I I feel like Emerson is obviously more of of of a people’s Champion he’s not some superhuman you know athlete with the S foot wingspan like we have in you know ab and and Ganon Burr I mean he’s a he’s a different kind of player like you said you use the word Grinder like he grinded that win out the the 23 under power it’s not like he played close to perfect for him he can definitely exceed the 30 under but he played out of body at that tournament and I’m slightly worried what the nerves are going to do but when we talk to him he he just seems like a veteran I know he’s young but he has his third kid on the way Brian I mean he’s he’s been a dad now for over three years and he’s been providing for his family with the game of disc golf for you know approaching eight years now so I’m impressed with what Emerson has been able to do in the adversity of of his you know long career now he’s been playing since you know a little bit past the Inception of the discov pro tour so do I think he can repeat here at Swinson I do but I also think that it would be as last year was one of the more historic oh yeah kind of Underdog Tales even though he’s defending champ he’s probably not even in the top 25 now as far as skill set goes what do you think Nate average finish this year has been 37th okay he’s 39th in the dgpt standings right now hasn’t been a great year for Emerson Keith but we think about what they were doing when they took the victory like Emerson Keith or parker wel last year at DDO it can happen but if it does happen this year what an unprecedented title defense that would be and I think there’s a lot of people rooting for him to take this down because like you said I don’t think he’s like this Larger than Life personality he’s Emerson he’s like going out and playing leagues he’s mingling with the locals he’s doing kind of the things that all the older touring Pros used to do just to get by and now I I feel like it’s awesome to see him still doing that a real member of the Disc Golf Community across the board but he’s playing to win this week Nate but he’s going up against some guys that are also really Allin and one of the guys we have to talk about that we talked a little bit about this morning is yes a Neiman and talk about Allin the man is over here going back to Europe and now coming back here after having a fantastic performance in Copenhagen getting his first dgpt win Nate we have more to talk about yes a uh I think there’s something in that interview that really stood out and I know that kind of sparked your interest well yeah he said that he almost felt empty and we’ve heard other athletes talk about that I mean you you you make this big sacrifice you leave Finland for six to eight weeks you come here and when you you find yourself you know outside cash two weeks in a row you know 3 weeks in a row you’re dealing with an injury you don’t even know if you can play you start to kind of give up and and be faced with is this really for me should I continue to pursue discov it’s not that easy when you have to come over the pond and and you’re away from your family for two months and then all of a sudden he finds himself in the winter Circle over in Copenhagen it doesn’t matter that the field the Americans weren’t there he won an Elite Series and it happened quicker than he expected it to he qualifies for the Tour Championship now he’s just it’s like what do I what do I do now I I accomplished my biggest goal of the year so it definitely it resonates with me what he’s saying about being empty and it also inspires me and likely others around the world to just continue pressing and and pushing for your dreams and here’s what impresses me he started out coming to uh the top of leaderboards in Finland because of his alls sidearm play style he had a backhand it’s a decent backhand but it’s not like Nicholas to a level of shot shaping competency sidearm was his bread and butter and then you come over here and it it’s really tough I mean our alls sidearm guy right now is Chandler Kramer who you know plays really well at some courses and kind of runs into a brick wall at other courses and you see it in the performances not having a high level backhand with high RPMs is tough especially when the wind picks up on these long courses like OTB this Swenson parkour so I love that he’s been able to come over here and get the Reps on the backhand and learn what he needs to do clearly he puts the work in look at his sidearm I mean to me it’s top five top 10 in the world right now um and I think he can put the work in to get the backhand there too and he said he’s excited for it and I think that’s the goal I think come over here and acclimate to this West Coast style style um I think he could do it I totally think he could do it but he’s got to go up against guys like Calvin heimberg Nate who last week at DDO final round looked absolutely Unstoppable like we remembered from the earliest uh parts of the 23 season talk about what you think about Calvin this week well I remember back at Texas States you and I were calling that and thinking that it was the end of everything for the rest of the field I I remember asking ifin golf was over if Calvin felt bad for the field because he he was winning by eight Strokes after two and and then all of a sudden we saw The Human Side of Calvin heinberg the rest of the season we saw him you know falter time and time again in pressure moments we saw him crumble in the majors and then last week two weeks ago rather at OTB pardon me DDO I’m with you guys Calvin found the putting stroke and found the late flipping drivers into the wind and again looked like there was nobody else in the field that can touch him and I think if he continues to find that Rhythm that routine that allows him those Deep Circle one shallow Circle two makes when there’s a little bit of wind out there I don’t think this course is safe today Brian I think nine under par right now is a score to beat that’s coming in 1057 Cole shot that in 12 I think power out here on a course where scratch scoring average was considered to be plus two so that would just be something special but Calvin is a generational Talent have we seen another Calvin heimberg are we seeing one in the junior ranks right now that’s playing like him like I know a ton of young players were playing like Paul MC Beth when they were coming up but you just don’t see anyone play the game like Calvin it’s it’s such a beautiful thing to watch uh when he plays the game I think most specifically whole 15 at Nokia over overseas in Europe for the European open 500 plus foot downhill Park three this man is grabbing an eagle out of his bag a seven-speed fairway driver and throwing it on a frozen rope down to the basket I mean nobody else is even thinking about doing that and he does it with such ease and now that he’s starting to feel a little bit better on the forehand side he says he actually likes the late flipping turnovers that he kind of had to start learning because of the forehand being uh off limits and now he’s going to keep leaning on them as long as he can and he says the forehands there doesn’t have to use the forehand so I think he might be in a little bit better spot than he was before giving that he makes a full recovery Nate last thing we got to talk about speaking of players coming back from an injury Eagle McMahon is back yes Eagle McMahon is playing at open at an open course we get to see feedback we actually get to see his discs fly yep uh it was kind of frustrating as a spectator to watch him go out to Northwoods because his timing is clearly going to be off he’s still recovering he’s learning a new bag we want to see these new discs are flying and if you hit a tree halfway up the Fairway we don’t get to see how they fly so what do you think about his chances this week but also what do you think this means for his career in this season you know I think Eagle’s the the type of guy that we’ve learned a lot from mentally like he he wasn’t shaken up by this I I obviously think that he found himself in a tough way not able to have his timing but and obviously the fans didn’t didn’t cut him cut him one cut him some slack on last weekend they were harsh on him Brian but what you’re talking about with the feedback is being able to see how this new plastic is flying and I think Eagle’s probably forgotten all about what happened at Northwoods and honestly he probably didn’t even have expectations for himself at that tournament today and this weekend I feel like he probably is coming into this tournament in the proper mindset to be able to throw he’s going to forget all about those those Shanks and the numbers I think the fans at home they were too zoomed in on hey he shot 10 overpar he going win the tournament that doesn’t matter if you shoot 12 overpar when you’re just trying to get back in it in into the tournament you know kind of scene and get your timing right with you know a bit of pressure with the cameras and at a certain point when you’re that far over par you’re just going out there and you’re trying to enjoy it I saw him throwing some some rollers I saw him ring when he didn’t really need to so we can’t zoom in on the numbers and and and try and cut him down and say hey he’s not he’s not coming back Eagle McMahon could potentially just blank out this whole course I I don’t know if you remember but he shot the 13 under par here at Swinson the first year we had it uh and ended up you know winning the tournament so eagle has obviously everything that it takes and now he’s playing at an MVP event and we’re going to see that plastic get ripped on today we might a 700t roller like I can’t wait to see how he’s putting with the Nomad so as a fan I just can’t wait to see the bird fly again well we’re going to get to see him throw some really spectacular shots out here and especially for the Power Players there’s some holes that allow you to do some pretty incredible things let’s talk about hole N9 let’s actually fly hole n and talk about this really special hole again golf course but they use the trees in a really creative way talk about this shot yeah where we’re sitting under these coastal redwoods right here on the teapad and this is one of the t-shot Brian that if you mess this up short and if you mess this up right you’re potentially adding two strokes to your score right here you’ve got to feed it inside this next eucalyptus you need at least 430 to clear that OB line right there you really need 460 if you want to land in the center of the Fairway here and then the second shot here is asking you to throw 330 to carry that water you’ve got some reads on the right that you need to get the disc up and over the wind right now today is a left to right headwind that kind of keeps the disc from swinging back in well I talked to Leonard Muse he said these reads in the right side are no longer going to get cut he’s going to let them grow as high as they possibly can to get players to think a little bit more before they throw their second shot over the water I Love Hole nine this is my favorite hole in the course playing is the seventh hardest today just a little bit over par man so much to talk about this weekend a really special place here in Stockton let’s take a look at some hot rounds of the day and get you down to the dgn booth for another round here Cole ralin 9 under power effort you said the nine is not going to stand what do you think I don’t think it’s safe right there you know Isaac Robinson hoping to catch his brother by the end of the day we saw Paul McBeth go three for three I think honestly Cole might be on the Chase card after these guys come through there Brian I’m telling you steak dinner somebody goes 30 to 33 I would be so blown a way to see that I’ll take a medium rare riy well let’s let’s just wait to see how round one goes for the rest of the no division wrapping things up here for Tournament Central Brian aart and N Perkins we’re going to spot of action for you unho five MC Beth that’s a yatsi to start the day Pho it’s five bres in a row though I promise and checking out our hot rounds our Innova hot rounds as it were D and Robinson at the top there Brandon ma also just one stroke back bunch of those young names once again popping off col rollan clean N9 under at that excellent shooting did get a little cold on his way into the clubhouse but all in all solid day yeah absolutely and welcome into the booth in Stockton I me and Anderson that’s major Champion over there Pho brawe what’s up hey glad to have you back in the food from it’s nice to be back man I missed you guys I also need to announce Pho got married congrats to Pho let’s go buddy yeah man awesome man awesome glad to have for you how was the honeymoon it was warm it was nice nice awesome Cancun Mexico is lovely in the spring so not too hot just nice and chill that’s the way we like it hot has been the play of umbrella and bur to start the year Pho telling me man it’s been fun to watch these guys dueling it back and forth throughout this first third of the Season or so we’re about the third of the way through the season Mark and these two young stars are just lighting it up back and forth they go started off the season like that chess.com AB comes out gets gets the monkey off the back as we like to say big win next tour stop boom Ganon bird how about that in dramatic Fashion on the 18th grabbing that one from Luke yeah these two guys are going at it again Texas State back and forth back and forth near flare skip in there for Ganon Burr AV says not so fast keeping things close keeping things tight somebody’s closer there m really did come down to the wire out there in Texas this on 18 applying the pressure with a great shot BR needed to match and sure did if I absolutely can’t say enough about the way he’s been playing this season in spectacular disc golf showing up at the right moments making the plays at the right time picking up wins he’s got three already this season got another one at jonesb just a few weeks later got the monkey off the back it turned there was two two more monkeys hiding back there Pho already so man opening up the cannon it’s just pouring out yeah it seems to really unlock the new AV this year and it’s been just incredible to watch just clutch butting this year is been that was the missing component to his victories and it has been there he’s found something he’s unlocked some kind of code you know that freed his mind and let his body just do the thing and it’s been a lot a lot of fun to watch for Anthony Burley it’s going to be a really fun few years for him I imagine coming up my goodness sign us up yeah just brewing like crazy for him and there ba and B the the Breakaway from the pelaton and trying to chase yeah slight I mean there’s still time there’s still some tournaments out there these guys could slip up things be turning into some Woods Golf and it’s a long year it’s a long year don’t want to get too ahead of yourselves but for now yeah fantastic golf for those two golfers there is Anthony Bella warming up he’ll be on one of your feature cards today only time we finished outside the top 10 this year was just a couple weeks back or was that last week time FL Dynamic just open yeah I think tied for 14th at the DDO yeah that’s his worst finish on the season not MH got to be so pure with it so smooth Conrad oh a little too high up in the window for Conrad makes contact drop straight down it’s a long ways to have a look at a birdie 3 when you hit early like that yeah it’s near impossible after that drive maybe a miraculous roller if anything Neiman in unleashes a low laser along the left side should be skipping right back towards the middle I think it 50 60 ft not a bad place to you know to go in talk about this whole twoo It’s Tricky it is absolutely tricky you got this low tunnel these trees maybe got a 13 14t canopy up there but man it’s so easy with those Crossing winds for the disc to lift especially if you throw something has a stable Edge you see a lot of guys trying to go something somewhat neutral push it out there 380 400 somewhere off to the left side really opens things up if you can finish in the middle that’s really nice but you definitely don’t want to go right especially on the second shot there’s is natural OB over there to the right not a lot to work with can clearly see the OB line along the left side to navigate baskets perched up under the under the Oaks back there nice and pretty like great hole it is really yeah that OB left you got the natural OB on the right this is perfect could go roller off the tea if you can control it you know it’s not one you want to get wild with that’s for sure but if it’s one of those shots you got locked in this could be a good place for it McMahon with the box after the birdie on one first available for that K OB man it really did didn’t it that went directly out of bounds that’s going to be a big number Pho little bit yany there from Eagle mcmah best you can do is save bogey you imagine right that kind of feels like it doesn’t it Bella inches off the ground for barela certainly was and that was online the whole way just doesn’t touch a thing drives up just a little short good effort though it was and no three putt at least yeah that’s a big thing out here you don’t these guys are just going to eat this place for lunch it’s just so much space to work with if you just keep it out in the open you know and best players in the world are just going to have a field day with that kind of track had to use what he had available to him Barella see if Eagle can unload a clean one here huh it’s okay it’s not great got there in a hurry yeah got there fast but a little low barely missed that eagle look had to tap in birdie and then the next part five after that I actually got my drive in a weird spot to where I had to throw a roller again and it got way up there into into C2 um on my second shot so I wasn’t really running it but the wind decided to make it look like a run and uh yeah then had another another birdie there but uh yeah just threw the disc well today you said uh they brought a camera crew out to kind of follow you around and you said you got iced I know it it’s probably a little bit of a joke but does that ever ever affect you you’ve played for the camera so many times no the camera wasn’t there it was just it was just funny timing um but I yeah once I had the first eagle look that was the first time I missed a putt I was pretty solid the first first five or six holes there I had a C2 Putt in there as well and then just everything just hit the cage they weren’t short they were just low you know I wasn’t leaving them short I had the power just not getting them high enough at this point in your career is a putting performance like this something that will make you go out to the practice basket today to find something or is it just go to sleep wake up and hope it’s different I just think I was trying too hard um and just getting my arm going ahead of my body so by the time I was releasing it it was just going into the ground or it was the other way my body was too eager and I was getting ahead of my arm so I was just putting them low um so I’ll probably go toss some putts over there get the feel um and I just need to I mean out over the water tons of land look at that chain High entrance into the a foot short so close onto that tricky peninsul like green as well one more opportunity for Calvin heimberg to KN it up that’s for certainly going to turn into nine under power for Calvin count it see if he can make this a three-man race here you’re going to take a Peak at whole 12 before you pet your card heads there walk us through Pho this is a great one I love this par three not the hardest hole on the track just 328 ft for most of these guys probably could get away with an overstable mid-range maybe take a overstable faster disc and hang the sidearm out there got Circle Edge on the backside a little bit less than that on the front what’s that four steps to that OB short it’s not a lot of room to work with there so you got some more room side to side best play the boundaries and fade them in makes that heberg DZ save even more impressive from that angle certainly does it’s a big putt McMahon we saw MC Beth go to the sidearm here I think the wind is a helping wind for this sidearm shot see you can say it helps or it hurts cuz if it’s accelerating yank it out there too much and you don’t give it too much up and around or keeping it down below it’s very thin line either way that up and over shot can get away and end up in the water quickly and it’s easy to catch the trees on the low line taking a look at hole 13 378 another technical t-shot out here got that Mandy off the Box things open up pretty fair out there on the backside just a couple of late trees big trees at that to put around on the inside Circle one playing the third easiest on the day about a quarter stroke under par AB has the T I like this play if you’ve got it it feels like the best option I agree early that flare skip helps a little bit it’s Circle two Circle two but a clean look M Orum also saved par from the Drop Zone I think this option’s a good one but it’s extreme ex technical what I think Mio is trying to do yeah this it’s a flex right under that limb takes a lot of trust and then that disc has to unravel in a hurry this seems like it’s taken forever for Matt orm’s disc 38 footer wide open look for mattor see ease off on one and and have plenty of pace on seven and then go for it on the island with the forehand I just think that the execution just isn’t quite at 100% Today just just doesn’t doesn’t have left conceding toar 18 L Castro he’s can find a good spot to sit oh that might be all right d that was the tree Paul was nestled on and got up and down right that’s true he was a little tighter to it as well he was right up on it and swung it around the left side so Nico should be in business back to 16 maybe I like that Ian this I like that a lot it kind of gives you more angle into the green you can throw a straight up the tunnel instead of having to start it off on Heiser and then make it flatten out and then carry and then Heiser again should have a straighter straight up and down six to 12 it’s been since world at Emporia 2022 so it’s been a minute now he’s back up on top of a leaderboard for the first time in a minute I could imagine and it’s pretty awesome to see him back you know it’s so much more compelling when the best players in the world are playing their best you know and Nic Beth is one of the alltime greats of the game and he’s you know this generation’s goat and it’s so good to see him back and playing well and he like you said he shot a 10 and it felt like garbage almost to him with the opportunities he left on the table it reminds me of those old old Paul rounds where he starts talking like that again it could be a long second half of the season for the fellas CU once that guy starts clicking and popping you know you might not see him for dust for a while so you just got to hang in there I don’t know I’m just excited for the rest of this tournament Al hamus up there on top Colton Montgomery another guy who’s hasn’t been up on top of a Leaderboard on a on the elite for a minute you know he’s had some good turn but it’s been a minute you know and other players like Gan bur who started off a little slow and all of a sudden boom right back in the mix K ralin another one of those super talented young Stars yeah his arm’s gonna be fun to watch going to be a lot of fun to see what happens on the next couple of days for sure Calvin heimberg in the mix
