guys welcome back to day 19 today I am playing a PGA tour course with PGA Tour strategy now what I mean by that is I have implemented a new system that is helping me learn how to manage golf courses better today’s goal is about tea to green and learning how to manage a golf course but I’m excited to be here shout out to PJ National for having me out this is where they play the cognizant classic I’m playing from the champion te’s all the way around nine holes Let’s Get Right it [Music] all right guys first hole here at PJ National usually there stands around here I actually played a pram which was really cool I played with Tua and Tyler camera but it was awesome so different without the stands here but first hole par 4 it’s like 380 yard decade tells me that I need about 260 off of the te which is perfect for a two iron with decade it’s very much about picking targets and then just hitting it within a window um and for this club I want to aim at those there’s like five palm trees right there that’s the dead center of my shot pattern so I’m going to aim right there and uh anything a little left of that left or right of that is a is a really good golf shot commit to the Target here [Music] sit okay I’m not exactly sure where that ended up that wind really hit it but I think it’s going to be okay all right so one thing I think it’s really important for me to understand is like even though I missed the Fairway here everybody has a shot pattern so when I look at where I was aiming I missed it literally probably 15 yards left of like where I was aiming but you look at this and you could you could start to beat yourself up and you say oh I’m in the pine straw like I barely have a swing there’s so many things there that could like get my brain to start going down a path that’s this negative but that is one of the things that I always I like put myself in a pretzel because of this so learning how to understand that I actually hit really good shots even though they end up in locations like this it’s extremely important here we go so this right here is I’m going to play this 122 with a 50° and I’m going to add a little more to that cuz the spin off the pine TRW so I’m going to go 125 so it’s a perfect 50° just put a nice stock swing on it here oh that I did not calculate for that okay that thing got eaten up I thought I actually had made really good contact there but I got to stay really patient with today and how windy it is because I’m playing the elements and I can’t get frustrated about that so I think it’s in the bunker but we got a little work to do here on the first pin High left short-sided so now probably looking about 6 ft left and long but just kind of giving myself a put here for por that was saly when it’s windy you have to hit shots and you just hope that uh you get lucky obviously you want to like play for the wind but you also have to take into consideration that the wind does things that are out of your control I think it’s going ever so slightly to the just because of the grain but about 6 ft here wow that is a par and I will take it to start this video on to the next it’s a par 4 we got a lot of wind we got a very difficult golf course and uh we got an excellent strategy so I’m excited for today all right so you guys you’ve you you’ve seen me mention Scott faet but this is the decade app um and right here on the second hole you can see this white line right here this is the this is as much width as I need between hazards in order to be able to hit a club safely so if you see right here is my two iron I can’t hit that club the bunker and the water comes in play this right here way too far back bunker comes in play and there’s way too much here so actually driver is a perfect Club um on this hole so all right got to put a very committed swing on this and just trust the process here well I almost topped it that’s what happens when I try to hit the ball low I am going to have another driver in all right 245 yards playing 260 I’m probably just going to hit a little two iron out there and kind of go basically that pin is all the down left so I’m going to go 245 24 I’m going to aim like I’m going to aim about 20 yards right of the pin and just hopefully give myself a putt this was a bad golf shot I got lucky and I’m going to use this brake to my advantage that didn’t fade hopefully those people were okay over there I mean I know you got to learn to play all elements but this is just it’s a whole another level all right on the pine straw I think I might could spin this a little bit depends on how aggressive I want to get with it oh my gosh this is going to be the two best pars to start a video in M Mor golf history here that was awesome man grinding two holes in out here and you know what I’m okay with it even even through two and I haven’t hit a green and I haven’t hit a fairway but see the thing is with when I’m like with this new strategy even though I didn’t like hit a great t- shot there I was I was like so I wasn’t questioning anything in my mind and I think that’s where I get myself in a lot of trouble is I I’ll stand over a t- shop and I t-shot and I’ll in my mind be like I hope this is right basically right now you’re fighting the wind you’re not fighting your game yeah [Music] exactly all right if I didn’t already say this I am playing like where they play the the cognic Classic Honda Classic it used to be now it’s Cog cognant but I’m playing the same te’s that they play so if there’s not t markers it’s because they the tips are even farther back number three my target uh based on the calculations that I’ve done is about 15 yard left of that far bunker uh hitting a little bit of a draw and I can kind of just swing away at this one there’s a lot of room up there look at this the wind is probably like a sustained 20 mph right now gust up to 40 gust up to 40 this is crazy I love it great time to be playing golf at challenges you and every way never gets touched by the wind that is launched but when it’s also when it’s straight down wind it’s it’s easier to control s spin in the Fairway on hole number three and uh now is when we start going downstairs okay that’s what I refer to when I go under par okay this ball traveled 3 42 yards all right 199 I’m playing this uh one I’m playing a 7 hour I’m playing this 185 and I’m aiming 20 ft left of the pin that’s like in my head that’s what I’m doing just right over this palm tree here and so it’s kind of a center of the green wind’s pushing over a little bit but the center of my shop pattern is 20 ft left of the pin let’s say that that’s pretty good huh that was a like such a well executed golf shot I love I love when I am able to pull one of those off because it just builds confidence as I’m starting to understand shot patterns and stuff it has taking so much pressure off of like oh I need to get it close to the pin hitting it close to the pin doesn’t mean it’s a good shot obviously that’s great when that happens and I have an eagle putt which is incredible I got a good read on this one so little uphill downwind really nice speed there all right easy Birdie on the third gets me to one under after three what an adventure of a round round so far I think that I mean you guys have noticed it as I’m just kind of stepping into this new era of golf for myself it has taking a lot of pressure off and I feel like I’ve kind of made a lot of progress almost overnight which I’ve been working really hard but I’ve just kind of been implementing the wrong wrong thing so shout out to you guys for sticking [Music] around all right so all the work had been done I’m going to aim just over the center of this first bunker and just hit a stock a stock shot I pushed it out to the right side of my pattern and saw it kick left it just I I literally hit it to the right side of my like it was right on the right side of my pattern so it should be fine it may not be in the Fairway but I absolutely poked this one I got 76 yards um or 70 yards it’s playing I think I’m going to I’m just going to think 70 I got a little room I got a lot of room left and there’s a little bit room long as well so I’m going to aim about 5T left of this pin I don’t really have to do because there’s I just don’t know if I was ever going to be able to stop that ball I hit a fantastic golf shot there I I hit just exactly what I was thinking I just I think I put about max amount of spin on it and it is what it is I’m going to just move on get up and down and we’ll go to the next hole all right just want to carry it over that slope just a little long like you guys saw that was close that was close really good shot there let me see if I can uh tap this in for my par yeah dead straight dead center one under through four easy peasy those first few holes like you just you have to take into account that golf is golf but I’m just got to be I got to be more patient and you never have to win golf tournament on the first hole there’s going to be days when you’re not hitting the ball right and I think with a bad short game that’s when 86s can pop out of nowhere this is one of the holes that’s crazy on this this is one of the par 3es where I feel like when they push this one back it’s just deep they put that pin in the tournament they put it on the back left here it’s in the middle so it’s a relatively easy pin location 200 yd play it down four five yards it’s just a nice confident six iron I pulled it it was a terrible golf shot is it going to sound crazy but I think I think it might have bounced over there in play that’s where I got to learn how I probably should have added four five six more yards for the win there and I did not I know for a fact you guys aren’t going to believe me but this ball stayed up it hit those rocks bounced all the way over here and I’m hitting my second shot this is actually becoming one of the craziest round the golf rounds of golf I’ve played after that t- shot to have 20 ft for par is just crazy to me all right now it’s time to make this wildest par ever grain’s going that way I just got to kind of plumbob this one looks so straight whoa settle gosh TIG all right one over par kind of unfortunate but I’m moving on that was a human that was a human error that wasn’t a strategy [Music] here all right back to one over that one kind of stings a little bit but got to move on three putts or three putts or three putts I with this wind it is now into and off left based on the strategy I need to be aiming basically right side of the Fairway I can hit driver here I kind of have to be ready for what’s ever up whatever’s up there but there’s two palm trees that you’ll see when you spin around and that’s the center of my that’s the center of my target so I know that was such a great shot the wind’s pushing it don’t hit the cart path you see it I don’t know if there’s a bunker there anymore but it’s going to be just right at the Fairway it struck really well nice committed shot that’s what I’m looking for in this situation we had a plugged Li situation we actually had to look back at the footage to see where this ball cuz we knew it came down and lit plugged but 235 it’s 212 playing 235 I think um this pin everything goes to the left so I want to be aiming about 20 ft left of the right side of the green cover cover oh my gosh I mean just smoked a four iron and still left it short this is also a par five on the scorecard but it’s a par 4 in the tournament so I am playing it as a par 4 all right this is uh that pen location is literally on this on the side of a freaking slope um want to try to get this ball right where this right where the grain changes colors there a spin spin it’s going is it going down that’s actually a pretty good shot oh my gosh yeah I didn’t pull it at all I hit it right where I was looking and I just misread it unfortunate bogey there but that is a bogey and I went from one under to two over in two holes it shows how quickly things can change it is actually very symbolic to the weather here in Florida so two over going into a par three but like I said in the intro today is way less about score and more about learning to strategize on a golf course I think that there’s as I’m starting to learn there’s so much of golf that goes Way Beyond just being able to hit good shots that’s where I’m at all right here we are hole number seven we have three holes left and I hope you guys have enjoyed this it’s definitely been you’re getting involved with the process here um with me and I hope you guys are enjoying that but 234 pin is pushed all the way to the right I think it’s actually like 25 ft left of this pin so it’s just right through the middle right over this uh kind of the left side of this water fountain here wow thanks man I mean it was a great shot I can’t believe that’s long I hadit a I hit what I thought was a great shot all right I’m I’m uh not too disappointed in this um when I look at when I look back back and look at where like my I was aiming where my shot pattern was very successful golf shot I know this is probably crazy to some of you guys but what I’m trying to understand is how to like manage a golf course and make less bogeys it’s way easier to lower scores by making less bogeys than it is more birdies that is statistically proven do not argue with me sit I mean it’s a it’s a little bit long but I just wanted it to go in it’s 2 ft long yeah okay yep I need to that’s get that out of my head it’s a great shot did I pull that or did it just go well you didn’t start it right you didn’t play it right center you played that dead center gosh dang TIG that’s another bogey that’s that’s a that’s just an error by me I did I did hit it on my line though was just a misread so I guess the next thing I need to learn how to do is read greens three over um onto hole number eight two holes left make a couple birdies coming in and you know it’ be respectable but especially from the tips out here in this wind whole 8 right here you can see right here that I can hit driver there’s enough room in between hazards and I don’t think I can get to the water with this wind so driver it is basically be hit it right at the PIN Hi how are you good thank you okay yeah we’re good all right that was perfect um I just HED the wind hit it so it didn’t go through 106 yards I mean just pushed it right up to the edge exactly like I wanted to 106 I can I basically an Aiming 5 ft right of this pin um with this wind it should be well yeah okay so that should work out really good go go wow time to time another opportunity to chip in that’s what I’m looking for and like if you look at what’s really hurt you in this it it’s all been putting like the point of this video has been very like you’ve done everything in this video successful minus the putting that’s actually very true it wasn’t it it hasn’t been my best putting day but that’s not the I wasn’t even like when I came out here I’m I’m working more of like te to Green because I I actually believe that I’m a great putter I’ve I mean in my last tournament it was unbelievable how well I put but the point of this video is learning how to like from te to Green really um but I’m going to chip this in just short spun off the front the thing with these is I’ve always like had Fogle I don’t mind if I hit this 2 feet past just like I said [Music] back to two over I like I said I think I said it two holes or actually was last hole I was like I need to start chipping in more and uh just got it done back to two over one hole left and this is going to be a cool one because I can hit driver here which is really fun I love hitting drivers my favorite CL in the back hit all right final hole this is uh this is driver all day every day left edge of that that bunker hit a draw there is just nothing else there’s there’s it’s very simple here why’ I never see that come down I didn’t either but I see it now it’s center of the Fairway but I I lost it I think that was a really good drive all right in the Fairway here let’s make one more birdie and uh finish finish all strong here all right final hole 133 playing uh 150 yards or that’s what I’m going to try to play it so it’s about up up almost 17 yards um good confident swing here let’s I want to give myself a putt aiming about 10 ft right of this hole 10 ft right and pull it to 5 ft left yep that’s the beauty of a chop pattern got a birdie putt here to finish 15 ft long here really really good position breaking ever so slightly to the to the right here I got a good Mark I hammered it I these greens I mean I am hitting them plenty hard I’m not leaving them short oh my God it came this way after the whole all right I had two three putts in there which uh that needs to be addressed and trust me I it’s hard for me to forget those sometimes but I hope you guys enjoyed this the strategy part of this I was very successful wasn’t as successful on the greens today is what it is I will be continuing to implement this strategy into my game in order to be able to statistically get better at golf and uh gain stres on the field so hope you guys enjoyed we’ll see you guys tomorrow for a very very very special video thanks for watching subscribe to the channel peace [Music]

  1. TIG I’m your biggest fan, your idea of “ I have to fade this about this amount of yards or draw it, can you really do this at a 60% rate. Only pro can think like this because they can execute it consistently. I see you get into trouble more often than not whenever you tried these shots. You have a natural shot, go with that from tee to green and watch your be around par or better EZZZ. God I wish I have your length, I would crush and enter as many tourney as I can.

  2. Micah do you keep track of the percentage fairways hits? It just seem so low for you. Get that fairways hits tee to be 60%? Higher is better of course. Strategy is definitely NOT your problem, it’s executing successful off the tee and off fairways and putting on the greens is what I see the crux of the problem. You are in the woods and I. The woods instead of punching out the fairways you go for some kind of curve shot to get on the green but then you hit into the bunker. It’s just compounded unsuccessful golf shots is the problem. You have plenty of strategy in your gold game: wind is this , I need to curve this , I need to hit a specific amount of yards, etc. FOGL is the result of inconsistent contacts

  3. Love you Tig. By you need to get to a point where your golf speaks more than you do. Keep workin!

  4. When is someone likable coming back on the channel? Maybe Grant. Definitely not that dod clown.

  5. So he knows “pga tour strategy” yet still hits it all over the map. Maybe it’s not the strategy 😂

  6. Thanks for sharing and being so committed brother ❤️✝️ God bless you and I pray you continue to put on the armor of YahWeh 💕 these comments are getting crazy we gotta start praying for the ones that just want to talk negatively about you or anyone else 😂❤️✝️

  7. If you hit a 4i and smoked it and it came up short, that means you definitely chose the wrong club. You need to apply the same "Shot Pattern" concept front to back as well, particularly when you need to cover a hazard.

  8. If you were strategic at all you would have accounted for the wind and stop blaming it for your poor shots. Still waiting for the scratch golfer to turn up. You should let go of that big ego and start admitting that you aren't as good as you make out.

  9. Really wish Micah would learn to accept putting is the biggest weakness in his game and work as hard at fixing that as he does literally anything but putting

  10. Your baseline number is supposed to be in yards not feet I thought. You kept saying feet when selecting your target

  11. Decade system is the best, especially for someone like you who self admittedly can get in their head out on the course. You have the benefit of having a simulator so you can get completely dialed in on your yardages and dispersion.

Decade system will undoubtedly make you a better golfer, you have the talent tee to green. Can’t miss those 3 footers though, they killed you in this. Still in a real round of golf you would’ve had 9 more holes to get those strokes back, you were hitting and chipping well enough to avoid the bogeys you had, putter just let you down.

Only negatives today were the short pull on the par 3 and then the 3 putts. Bad shots happen but putting especially from that distance is fully in your control. You’re doing great though, excited to see your game continue to grow and evolve. Don’t know if this was filed after your chipping lesson vid or not but those chips were money today

But with decade you can plot the whole course prior to playing, do your 2’s, take the mental/course management side out of it as much as possible, all you have to do is go out there and execute your plan. Let’s you completely remove a major variable from the golf course. Keep going man you got this

  12. Great to hear you're aware of Scott's DECADE system, sounds like you knew of it before. That video you posted about your qualifier round, I thought DECADE is exactly what you needed to realize that golf is just percentages,. If you flip a coin, you can't pick WHEN you get heads or tails, but you know you will get both. Golf is the same way.

  13. Really enjoying watching you go through the process, Micah. It's also been cool to see how you've worked on yourself mentally and emotionally. Your game is clearly evolving, so keep grinding man. Pulling for you.

  14. Honestly, it is Great to see you adjusting the mindset. We all make bad shots occasionally. You used to struggle after making a bad shot; Every Time. This video, you made the correct mental adjustments and made really good shots (except your putter failed you today… I blame the putter LOL)
When you're able to do the same when competing, It will be Fantastic !
It's really enjoying to watch your game became more mature while still having fun.

  15. To settle everyone’s fascination with your self claimed ‘scratch golfer’. Go play and film 20 rounds but they have to be actual member competitions. That means there’s no YT editing, no preferred lie, just real stroke play golf. Then take you best 8 of 20 and see what handicap you have. I’d watch that series

  16. You're a great golfer Micah, taylormade wouldnt of made you an ambassador otherwise, they dont just pick anyone, they pick the best. And you are one of the bests out there mate. Keep it up 👍🏻

  17. I think the 1 putt on holes 1&2 offsets the 3 putts you had. Score is just a number, but the progress is huge. Taking driver is what we want to see and it looks like this was filmed after the new chipping method. Keep up the fight, it's only matter of time when you can trust your driver, hit better approach shots to go really low.

  18. I always felt that Micah was a good golfer who wasn't sure how to maximize his talent. Maybe got too hyped up into length over position. Kudos to his dedication and refusal to settle with what talent he has. When he can match length with position AND use better course strategy, I think he will leapfrog over those who currently are better. This is an enjoyable series and I wish Micah every success going forward.

  19. You need to pick a shot shape you want to hit then decide where your missing are. If your 150 yards and in you need to pin hunt unless the green is crazy.
