The Toronto Blue Jays season is in jeopardy. They can not wait until July to improve the club…they need to act now! Here are 3 trades that could fix the Jays season and get their offence back on track!
It could be fun to propose trades with the Mets, Astros, Cardinals & Giants…but those teams are all still trying to get on track so we’ll focus on the teams we KNOW will be sellers this season.

there is trouble north of the border the Toronto Blue Jays another day another loss more disappointment up four to nothing to the Rays only to choke it away and take another loss and fall to 19 and 25 something needs to be done we canot wait until the trade deadline something needs to happen right now and that’s what we are going to get into I got three trades to fix the blue jays because 19 and 25 when this window is supposed to be the window to win right now this is the moment isn’t happening 19 and 25 isn’t getting it done to the point where Ross Atkins is having a press conference had one earlier today where he is talking about the mentality the approach the belief the thought process for this organization at this time talking about the trouble talking about the need to turn it around the need to add trade possibility these mentioned Prospect promotions and we’re going to focus on the trade portion in this video because as a part of this press conference alongside with the possibility of prospect promotions the Blue Jays are also considering deals according to Ross Atkins so let’s get into them three trades to fix the blue jays to save the Blue Jays 2024 season and this window to compete how does Jazz Chism look next to a blue jay logo looks good we got to get him in a blue jay’s Jersey maybe this is something we can do we know Miami is open to Early Trades they just did one with the Padres for Lis arise now what would Jazz bring to the Toronto Blue Jays you take a look at what he does from a hitting perspective from a base running perspective I like it and Jazz he came up as a second baseman maybe he goes back there with the blue jays he’s been playing center field for Miami maybe he stays in center field for Toronto though Dalton Baro or Kevin k would certainly be better options in center from a defensive perspective so maybe jazz moves to left this is a figure it out situation because what he brings from a base running and a batting perspective is an upgrade over what the Blue Jays have currently when we take take a look at their lineup and let’s take a look at the lineup I have Jazz Chism penil in to stay at center field but again certainly he could move to left field VAR could moveed to center field this is an upgrade Jazz Chisum has been leading off for Miami you get a top of the lineup hitter whether he leads off or whether he’s batting behind David Schneider you have a very nice potent one 23 and the lineup also lengthens and that’s what we’re looking to do here even just by adding one bat this lineup lengthens varo is seven Springer six Kirk Jansen eight we know that there have been some struggles for Kirk but we also know what Kirk can do if he can do that at the number eight spot in the lineup good things that’s a good thing for the Toronto Blue Jays in that lineup now we’re going to build the trade and one of the elements that comes into trading for jazz Chism is how much control you’re getting with jazz Chism arbitration settled for 2024 you’ve also got 2025 and 2026 arbitration years for jazz Chism so that is this year two more years of control and it’s cheap he’s only making $2.6 million this year so that probably escalates to five or six next year and then the final year of arbitration is probably somewhere around 10 that is something the tronto blue JS can easily absorbed and we’ve been thinking about the financial situation for the Blue Jays and their luxury tax situation they have crushed over the tax they are about $5 million below a Next Level threshold and bringing Jazz Chism in at that $2.6 million keeps them under that it works so let’s build the trade Jazz Chism to the Toronto Blue Jays and because of that luxury tax situation we’re not adding Josh Bell we’re not adding a do Garcia to soften the load when it comes to the Prospect Capital because the Blue Jays cannot afford to do that so it is just Jazz Chism which means it is going to be of all three trades the most significant trade package the biggest pieces are in this trade for jazz Chisum and blue J F you may not like that so you may favor the next two trades but let’s take a look at the deal and it does have a significant prospect that significant Prospect is orelis Martinez him along with Kendry roas Josh kovich and desan brown in the package for jazz Chism that’s what’s going to Miami Toronto fans comment below let me know what you think we don’t know what AIS Martinez is going to do at the major league level we know defensively he’s not that great and because of that does this Toronto Blue Jays front office think less of him he’s not getting an opportunity even though he has shown he can Mash at the higher levels so what’s it going to take maybe a RIS has to move on and if you’re going to swap out four players who have never seen a second at the major league level for jazz Chisum who has shown he cannot hang but he can Excel I think it’s what you want right I think that’s what you want so Jay’s fans what do you think about this first trade let’s get to the next one and it is going to be Ryan McMahon going to the Toronto Blue Jays as a trade option here again looking good as a potential blue jay what are we getting from a hitting perspective we’re getting something really good a 863 Ops this sit this 2024 season we have seen Ryan McMahon take another step with his back and that as he enters these Peak years he’s 28 years old that is just getting to the beginning of those prime age years 28 293 it’s probably something that we can expect him to continue for a few years which is good because you have him under contract and we’ll talk about that in just a moment but you see the batting run value in the 92nd percentile you see a 308 batting average a 390 on base at 863 Ops blue jay fans with the way this team has been hitting you’re salivating over that and what’s it going to take to get him though right let’s think about his contract he is under contract through the end of the 2027 season but these are some significant dollars 12 million next year or no 12 million this year 12 million in 2025 then it goes up to 16 million in 26 and 27 and the way things are going for the Colorado Rockies by the time they’re winning again might be 2026 or 2027 at that point you’re getting towards the end of the Ryan McMahon contract you’re at the higher aav portion of the Ryan man contract maybe you want to get out of it especially if you can get some prospects back in return so let’s consider this what are we going to do first let’s think about what it would look like to have him in this Blue Jays lineup and you can see this is a much better lineup with Ryan McMahon as your starting third baseman he’s a good defensive third baseman we see what he can do with the bat this year Ryan McMahon would be a fantastic addition to the Toronto Blue Jays but what are we going to have to give up again one piece coming and we’re also going to need some cash coming from Colorado to cover the rest of this year’s salary otherwise this is is is really uh Dreamland stuff but Ryan McMahon comes to the Blue Jays Colorado covers the contract for the rest of the 2024 season and then the Blue Jays pick it up moving forward what’s going to Colorado because of the dollar amount because of the years it’s not as much as the Jazz Chism contract or Jazz Chism trade Addison Barger the number four Prospect yes blue J fans I don’t want him to go either but if we’re swapping him for Ryan McMahon I’m okay with it and then we’re going to add two pitching prospects CJ van Ike and TJ Brock both headed to Colorado so the Rockies get out from that contract that they have with Ryan McMahon they get two pitching prospects and they’re getting Addison Barger who’s ready now but still in those pre-arbitration years you get two years of pre-arbitration get depending on how they have messed with his service time maybe three or four years of arbitration you get a ton of control with Addison Barger so by the time you’re winning again Colorado you still have a few more years of Addison Barger on the cheap as well and I think Barger would play well in Colorado Jay’s fans what do you think about this one do you favor this one over Jazz comment below let me know what you think let’s get to our third and final trade and that is for Brent Rooker Brent Rooker is somebody along with jazz Chisum if you have been listening to me you think or you know that I think it is unlikely that jazz or Brent are going to be dealt and that is still my belief but we need to see a team the Toronto Blue Jays get aggressive enough to push that thought process out the window and make something happen so we’re going to have Brent Rooker on the move to the Blue Jays in this hypothetical trade this is is what you’re getting look at that 915 Ops 10 home runs 30 home runs last year this is a legit bat and on top of that there is a ton of control with Brent Rooker he is still in pre-arbitration this year he starts his arbitration next year you get three more years he’s not a free agent until 2028 so he is cheap this is a good a good player for the Toronto Blue Jays to Target and my thought about keeping Brent Rooker if you are the Oakland Athletics you think about that years when you’re going to compete let’s get some pieces that are going to come along and help you compete when again I think A’s are going to be back in that mode which would be 2026 so what’s Rooker look like with the Blue Jays I have him right around that five spot that four that five really it’s this lineup is based on how the Blue Jays are performing right now Schneider at the leadoff VAR show second we may find a spot where Rooker moves up because varo slides back to the five spot if we have a lefty starting that day flipflop varo and Rooker but you see the point you get a power bat you insert him into the middle of that lineup and again like we have done with all of these deals we have lengthened the Blue Jays lineup to point where we got Justin Turner hitting seventh insane to think about but that’s what we’re talking about here lengthening the lineup so what’s it going to take to get Brent Rooker Brent Rooker is not going to be as much as Jazz Chisum still have to give a nice package to Oakland and we’re going to focus on pitching here Adam Mao the number nine Prospect and Connor Cook the number 19 Prospect two pitchers headed to Oakland and Ernie Clement who is in pre-arbitration showing some nice things for the Toronto Blue Jays I think a nice piece for Oakland to add and again Ernie is there in those pre-arbitration are he fits right in with that window that I’ve talked about for Oakland and they’re winning and Adam Mao is another starting pitcher that you is a double A you’ll be able to slide him in and he will be contributing as well during that next Oakland competition window the the next window when I think Oakland is going to be a real competitor for the playoffs and again that starts in 2026 by by my estimation those are the three trades that I think we could use to fix the Toronto Blue Jays right now that’s the element to this right now not at the trade deadline at the trade deadline it might be too late these deals need to happen soon Ross Atkins talked about it in his press conference that there is a premium to be paid for Early Trades and we have done that in these three trade proposals comment below Jay’s fans do you sign off on any of these traits we’re giving away some players that you probably like some players that you’ve been hearing about for a while and you want to see what they can be but we’re also looking at at a window that may be closing right before our eyes so seeing what a Elis Martinez can be may not work because this team may be headed into some clouded future I’d rather get the guy that I know exactly what he can do and he can help me try to win a World Series in 2024 or 2025 Jays fans comment down below non Jays fans comment with your thoughts as well Jays need something they need a trade to infuse some life lengthen that lineup and generate some offense need to score can’t keep getting near no hit they’ve been no hit they were almost no hit I think it went into the ninth they were almost perfect game by Tyler Alexander the signs are there you need to go out there and get some bats that’s it for this one everybody I do appreciate you coming in and spending some time with the channel ball cap Nation I salute you appreciate you coming in as always if it’s low let it go if it’s High Let It fly I’ll catch you next time

  1. It could be fun to propose trades with the Mets, Astros, Cardinals & Giants…but those teams are all still trying to get on track so we'll focus on the teams we KNOW will be sellers this season.

  2. If you keep Varsho batting second don't matter what trades you make the Jays will keep losing. Varsho is not a number two hitter not even close.

  3. Doesn't matter what we Jays fans think the other teams would never make those deals anyway.

  4. Oh man I just don’t feel like any of these are going to happen. I see Miami dangle Jazz but he’s the only saving grace for the fanbase. McMahon maybe but like you said he’s pricey. Rooker seems the most plausible but I imagine it’s going to take a lot given he’s basically playing for free. If something happens I feel it’ll be less of a splash and not have much effect on the seasons outcome.

  5. Of the 3 McMahon is the only one that makes sense. They need a 3B badly and don't really need outfielders. Chisolm would be nice but I don't see any motivation for Miami to move a cheap star. Same for Rooker and the A's. You'd also lose the defense in the outfield you tried so hard to upgrade. McMahon is the ticket…

  6. For the first trade add Addison barber take away orielvez and add a series good prospect like one that is 50 best on the jays😊We also need to sign Bradon bely

  7. Clement was dfa'd by the athletics so I think the chances of them trading for him are slim to none

  8. The jays need much more than just bats. They need at least two relievers, a solid 2nd baseman, a better backup catcher, and a power option at DH. Basically, we’re screwed

  9. "If you're in a hole, stop digging"…Chisholm, McMahon and Rooker are good players but bottom line is I don't think this edition of the Jays is salvageable regardless. Keep your prospects and blow it up imo from top to bottom.

  10. It’s not the players it’s John Snyder he hast to go so doDon Mattingly has to go to he was in Florida manager in Florida and look where they ended up at eight the players it’s the management you can sit here and say you can go get this guy and this guy this guy hast to be on the field in a new manager in a new whatever you wanna call it their assistant manager too

  11. How can you fix this team. Same as the Toronto Maple Leafs. Lean out the roster focus on offense. You need a two-way team to win. Jays have back loaded on defense but they have really found the right offensive line-up yet. I'd move Springer for whatever you can get for him. Hopefully it's a B list prospect or a pick where you can start building up the farm system.

  12. First thing the Jays need to do is fire Atkins and Schneider both should not be part of this team’s future. They need to hire a competent GM and manager to start The problem I have with your trades is that you are depleting what is a weak farm system as it is.. these trades would put them last in that area. You are unloading the few nuggets that we have. I would like to make trades where we unload some of the mlb players who simply aren’t performing. Biggio, Pearson, kiermeir , IKF and Springer who is owed $50 million over the next two years but isn’t worth a quarter of that

  13. I realize most prospects don’t work out but I remember a trade that was really bad .. in July 2000 they traded Michael Young who was at double A at the time plus Darwin Cubillan for Esteban Loiza ! Young was a 7 time all star and gold glove winner. Pretty sure one of those deals is going to have an impact player leave !

  14. There is no trades to fix this team. Recoup whatever value you can from your current players. Call up the farm. Fire everyone up and down including player development and high performance and start again. Something is wrong at a fundamental level.

  15. If Jays wanted to improve Spencer Horwitz is rotting in AAA while we have the useless Danny Burgers taking up oxygen in Toronto. Move Springer to 9th and recognize Turner is 3 for 40 (.075) with 1 RBI in May. No need to deal prospects as long as the major league team is not being utilized properly. I said all Spring this team would be 10 games worse than 2023 and was called a hater.

  16. I don’t trust this management to do anything. We’ve been waiting for two years for strong bats and nothing. This season is over and Atkins, Shapiro, Schneider and Mattingly need to go.

  17. I'll never understand why so many people seem to overpay for Jazz his numbers have always been extremely average in the MLB. He doesn't put this team over the bump they need offense, not a guy who doesn't get on base or hit for power.

  18. They shouldn't be buying. They would have to buy way too much just to even have a small chance at a WC spot. Better to become major sellers and retool for the future.

  19. Right now, the Jays need the offense Martinez brings. Chishom doesn't warrant a top prospect. I like the second and third trade options for Mcmahon or Rooker.

  20. Solution #1: FIRE SHAPIRO & ATKINS!!! Solution #2: FIRE THE COACHING STAFF! Solution #3: get players who know how to play their position & swing the bat properly. Solution #4: find consistent pitching. Might take 3-5 years to be honest.

  21. Ryan McMahon career splits:
    Home .269/.343/.491/.834
    Away .224/.311/.367/.678
He's not so good away from Coors Field.

  22. I don't agree with the basic premise that the Jays should be trading away prospects for individual guys. I think they should be trading away veteran guys like Bichette and Guerrero for prospects. Build the team like the Orioles did. Add prospects. Rebuild from the ground up. That way, things would be a lot more exciting for the Jays fans. High ceilings for young players. Get rid of the idea of trying to add guys for prospects. Most important thing – don't let Atkins do it. Fire Shapiro and Atkins and let someone competent do it.
