hello everyone welcome to the second day recap of the division 2 baseball regionals raer Fred here joined with Will connly and another actionpack day yesterday that happened a lot that happened yesterday we’ll break it down for you we’ll go region by region because now today is the day where we get to see some regions get to Crown a regional champ to advance onto the specific region super regionals and we’re very excited about that we can’t wait to see who advances and who goes on we have a few upsets there as well and we’re excited to talk all about it but will how did you feel about day two you know day two was a lot of you saw a couple of powers exit early and you see what happened in a couple sites leaving earlier than perhaps expected with Mesa with North Greenville but overall um it was a great day too obviously you had one Regional get started South Central Regional number one you had one Regional Midwest Regional number two have some complications with the field and rain and Indianapolis and the power going out that not only pushed all the games back but moved it to another site but a big 10 facility nonetheless so I think that uh for day two it obviously was a lot of fun to witness a lot of fun to see and really when you look at the fun of all this it really comes down to today because we’re going to go region by region and talk about every matchup that’s happening today and today and perhaps tomorrow we’re going to see Champions be crowned today so it’s gon to be a huge day for teams to have an opportunity to clinch a birth in the Super Regionals absolutely will and we’re excited to cover it there and we’ll get started here in the Atlantic region early games that went on yesterday and we’ll first talk about Millersville Millersville being able to Stave off elimination against rosberg State winning 8 to6 and Alex mut who it’s been great all year continue to pitch great he threw six strong Innings and he led the way to keep Millersville alive this season and eight of the nine Millersville starters recorded a hit Mark McNelly was the leader of that charge he went through for with a home run and for RBI and so they will take on now e or excuse me Sean Hill as East stoutsburg was able to beat them six to5 and all it took was a six six-run inning for East stoutsburg in the the fourth inning to win that as Chase Alvis Tim havers had two it’s Jeremy P PTZ excuse me if I messed up your name Jeremy but he had a homer three RBI Nick mcalli was huge in relief you know we mentioned there on the early broadcast last year he was dominant in the rotation he ended up being a key factor in relief he threw four Innings and a relief didn’t give up a run and struck out four to get that win for Stroudsburg and now in the bracket tail game they play later today awaiting that winner of the seatan Hill Millersville game but within the Atlantic region will as well Atlantic region one Westchester end up going two and out and iup give credit to them theyve played really well obviously scoring 26 runs in two games is nothing to scoff at as they’re now two and 0 Derek Shields was huge for iup in that game he threw a complete Game gave up three runs and struck out six Harrison poni and Ricardo Aponte both had two went two for four and had two RBI each as well so really exciting for a team that hasn’t been to the postseason since 1990 their first time since 1990 and they a win away in the Super Regional but will is there anything additional for this at Atlantic Regional that we’d like to mention I know you see on the screen here that the first game is at 11 it’s been pushed back to 2 PM for this first game between iup and Charleston as Charleston needs to win twice to advance and iup just needs to win once yeah we if we start there and look at that Regional the Atlantic region uh number one tournament in this pod it obviously was a big shock think a lot of things that happened kind of were Were Striking yesterday it was about hey iups 19 run out burst and then again you see that they have the ability to come back and beat a really good Westchester team and send them home that’s not what I expected to happen with how strong Westchester finished the season you really thought that they were probably going to be the team the team that felt like that 12 and 17 type group that really hot at the end Mike L Ro’s group though ultimately um well they’re going to have games happen in Westchester but it will be iup and Charleston and so that’ll be fun to see what ultimately will happen there with that one and then in the other Regional pod in the Atlantic region the four team set in the second pod I find it really interesting really competitive games all throughout you had a 3-1 East stoutsburg beating Frostburg you had a 0 Cen Hill over Millersville day one and then a couple of one-run ball games yesterday Millersville or two-run ball game 8 to six they win and then a one-run win for East Strasburg beating Sean Hill 65 so a couple of close games and I fully expect that today at 11 o’clock Central 12 Eastern milville Sean Hill season on the line sounds like a prime time matchup but the interesting thing is the winner will not have to just be to East strandburg once but knock him down twice and that is certainly a tall task so East Stroudsburg right now the host in Atlantic region pod number two certainly with the inside track right now to get to the super regions and know you and I will we both had differing teams on that Atlantic Regional number two to become the winner and while they’re playing that first game today so you know I picked Millersville you pick Satan Hill so ex excited to see how that turns out but also excited to see if Easter alburg can close it out and go to the Atlantic Super Regional and as we now transition to the central regional we’ll start in Central Regional number one central Oklahoma they stay off elimination as they beat Minnesota state two to nothing in a very close competitive ball game as Brett peny really dominated he had eight Innings pitch didn’t give up a run struck out seven he had a no hitter going into the seventh inning and ended up ultimately liking to shout out as vexis neros came in and got his 14th save of the Season as well so great pitching for central Oklahoma and that helps as they have to save the arms against potentially a double header today Tai Chapman went three for three in that game Orlando Gonzalez went two for two but we also got to talk about a big Marquee matchup that we mentioned uh on yesterday’s broadcast which was Central Missouri and Austina not the exactly the result we thought was going to happen but Central Missouri ended up winning 18-3 that’s right 18-3 as all nine Central Missouri starters had a hit in seven of the nine had two or more hits but we got to talk about pitching Jack Griezmann through seven and two thirds gave up three runs and struck out four and that’s pretty big for the mules they can save some arms as they’re one one away from the Super Regional Cole Moore went three for four in that game he had five RBI Carter young went four for six he had a double triple and two RBI Jacob steel went three for four Brenan van bran in his 21st home run as they’re in a prime spot to go to the central Super Regional there by winning by that large margin of 18 to3 and then we head over to Central Region number two where Harding was able to keep it season alive and of of course when you keep have to keep your season alive you have to have great pitching and for Harding that was the case as they had great pitching from their starter Welch as he went a complete Game Davis Welch nine innings five hits two runs seven KS Logan Lacy hadit a hom run two RBI he was a key factor in getting that three to2 win as they will play host Missouri Southern as Arkansas Monella was able to take them down seven to four and that was behind a five run seventh inning for the bull weevils as getting that five run seventh inning was ultimately a big one there Chase Crips tripled to give monacello the lead and then they added two more on a Kirk wolf single as well as he went three for four Jacob McDaniel in relief for the bull weevils had three Innings and gave up just one hit check out a batter before Nelson Marcado came in and shut the door getting the final two outs as they will await the winner of the Missouri Southern Harding game so either way you’re gonna see at least one Great American Conference team I know talking to Great American Conference commissioner will creit he’s excited for it but you know with Missouri Southern being the host site you can’t count them out they they’ve been you know ranked in the top 10 in many polls almost all season long so there’s no reason to count them out as if there’s anybody right now that can probably make a run out of the losers bracket it’s likely to be Central Missouri or excuse me Missouri Southern as they got a win today at one o’clock and then whoever wins that game will play monel in the championship at five o’clock and then on the flip side like I mentioned earlier central Oklahoma and Austina will play each other again as Austina them in game two of the central regional number one 4 to3 where central oka’s up three to nothing so the winner of that game will play Central Missouri later tonight as we’re excited to see that so again another day where we could possibly see a champion go to the Super Regional in the central region but there’s also that if necessary tomorrow will you have any thoughts on the central region yeah I mean you talk about the the well we’ll start with number one you talk about Central Missouri and with them being one of the top ranked teams in the country all year long uh when you bring up the fact that hey it wasn’t the result we expected I would say yeah it was not the game that we expected right what we did not expect such a big blowout 18-3 but you kind of understand it because Augustana with how great they are with how great Ashton M Che is um you understand it because they’ve been eliminated by Augustana multiple times over the last couple of seasons and I think that they wanted to kind of put their foot down and say this is a different team and you kind of saw that 18 to3 21 hits a really impressive performance August’s got a deep great pitching staff and it’s going to be interesting to see them against central Oklahoma but certainly it is going to be a lofty task to try to beat Central Missouri twice over in warrenburg Missouri at their own field so again I’m um Central Missouri certainly has that track you have some Superstar power on the offensive lineup and they’ve shown that scoring 12 and then 18 and this is in Regional action within a tough central region so they certainly have been impressive central Oklahoma really cool because you had a back end closer and cisos get the job done you have the same thing in central region number two you already mentioned it but when you can get a backend guy to throw the ball at a high level that’s what Marcato did for Arkansas monacello but really what was shaping up good for this PO Weevil team was Charles peacock somebody who’s struck out the world this year but perhaps some walks at times has hurt him he he goes five and a third just walks two strikes out four and allows four and that puts his team in a position to pick up a victory wolf had three RBI in this game and they ultimately had Chaz poppy continue to perform well here in the postseason so they now are in a position to await that Harding Missouri Southern winner so monacello and Central Missouri both teams that were highly regarded coming in monacello certainly on that heater from the GAC title but those two teams now are going to get to wait and then have to be beat twice so the central region shaping up to look like a Central Missouri Arkansas monacello Super Regional but you never know and that’s why we play the games here today I’m looking forward to both of those matchups starting here this afternoon I is you know we’re we’re excited for this central region but then we’re OB also excited as we transition on to the east Regional and we’ll start with East Regional one one game yesterday and that was Southern New Hampshire and Jefferson and that one in itself was a wild game as Southern New Hampshire came out with a seven to nothing lead early and Jefferson made it very interesting towards the end as the ultimate score was 8 to7 there Southern New Hampshire but really excited to see how that plays out with that three- Team Bracket again with Franklin Pierce going two and out that’s a best of three so Southern New Hampshire or Jefferson can clinch it today so we will see at least one East team go to the South or excuse me East Super Regional whether it be Southern New Hampshire and Jefferson as on the flip side with the East Regional number two you have New Haven kept its season Alive by winning nine to5 and New Haven came out hot with a couple large bats Tyler Wells was one of them four for five double to RBI and Liam Carroll of course a guy who led the erra you know halfway through the season the country in ER he went five innings six strikeouts didn’t give up an earned run and they will play Goldie beac as the Malloy goldie beac game that afternoon Malloy shut them out and Malloy sitting in a prime position because they got backto back shutouts from their starters Charlie coier on day one and then yesterday with JC kiss who shut the door there so they’re in a great spot for a potential East Super Regional as they await the winner of this New Haven Goldie Beacon game that will kick off at 12 P p.m. Eastern 11:00 a.m. Central Time and then the winter will play roughly 30 to 45 minutes after that game Southern New Hampshire and Jefferson will be the first game of the day at 10:00 a.m. Central 11: am Eastern and then the if necessary game will follow that if not if Southern New Hampshire ultimately Falls in that first game but will what are you excited about here in the east region well I’m excited to see I mean coming in and trying to predict the east region following this region it really has come down to the same result the last few years Southern New Hampshire even though they struggled in the conference tournament early they they had the success that they needed to have throughout the regular season new coach at the helm but same results as they’re trying to defend their east region Crown three-time defending champs and one win away from doing that but it was a close game against Jefferson yesterday and Robert you said the times for that game I you mentioned it’s 10: am this morning Central Time right correct 10 a.m Central for Southern New Hampshire okay so they I didn’t know if they they change there because the snhu website has won either way they need a win to go in and so we shall see what ultimately happens there and then for the Lions of Malloy Yeah you mentioned it I mean a couple of shutouts you’re going to be in pretty good position because you get a couple of wins and now you wait Goldie beac New Haven the six and seven seed you’re the two seed you’re at home and you got to win one more so Malo Southern New Hampshire is shaping up to be that super Regional in the East yeah yeah and of course um we’ll double check on that time for you because we obviously we don’t we don’t want to tell you the incorrect time so we’ll double check on those times but yes it is 1 pm Eastern and 400 PM Eastern for those two games today so the first game will be at 1 pm. Eastern 12 p.m Central Central so apologies for that time miscommunication but now we’ll transition on to the Midwest region and well we only got one game yesterday and because of Storms and weather will mention it earlier on the broadcast but we’ll start with that Midwest region number two so overnight rain caused the Outfield to be unplayable and all the games got cancelled for that day yesterday between Indy Grand Valley State in traa and marville and now with the weather still being the way that it is and the field still being in a unplayable condition it will move to the University of Indiana bark Hoffman Stadium as today’s action will go underway I know it says 11:00 am Eastern but it will be 12: PM Eastern for un Indian Grand Valley State in elimination game and then traa and mville will play right after again at B Hoffman Stadium there in Bloomington Indiana so everything get get gets pushed back a day and we’re excited to see how day two of the Midwest Regional number two will happen but we go over to Midwest Regional number one and we had just one game and one game only as Sagen Valley State was playing for their lives before ultimately winning six to four in that ball game as Hayden yek again can’t can’t talk about him enough will he threw seven Innings gave up two runs struck out five he also went two for four with a double and a run Colin Cornwell went three for five Austin CIS two for five and they the Cardinal scored five runs in the top of the six after they were trailing two to one to make it six to2 but then Northwood started coming back a little bit they had five straight singles on the bottom of the ninth and scored two runs but a runner miscommunication ultimately is what did them in and they got the final out that way so Sagen Valley now with all three teams at one and one since they’re the number one seat they get the luxury of going to the Midwest Regional number one title game in which they will play the winner of Ashland and Northwood so that will be exciting to see Ashland and Northwood being that first game and the winner of that game will take on Sagen Valley but anything you’d like to add on the Midwest Regional yeah for sure so when you look at what happened yesterday with the one game it certainly was a wild games you mentioned sagol Valley comes out with a six to4 Victory but it wasn’t without a strong effort from Northwood at the end they put together five consecutive singles in the bottom of the ninth two runs they had their me of the order up they got both to single Johnson to get on Magno to get on and and ultimately it was a hit by Magno that ultimately a runner was caught out in between second and third when you had perhaps the tying run and scoring position if the breaks were put on to a base running air ultimately ended that ball game and it’s Sagal Valley who a massive win for them because right in those three team regionals you’re all one in one they get the benefit of the doubt they get to wash Ashlin and Northwood play today and then they’ll take on the winner later for an opportunity to get to the Super Regionals for Sagen all Valley incredible work done by that program this year we talk about what patvic has done with this group in in his second season at the helm reaching Greater Heights and first time in a long time that they’ve had a chance to do some of this type of damage you it’s been over a decade plus nearly a couple since 2007 since they’ve been in a position in the NCA L tournament and then you look at the other side trca and mville it’s interesting because they’re both hot both the GMAC champ versus The glvc Champ both offenses looked pretty good I mean tra scored 16 they kind of stopped you Indy and then Maryville 8 to five got an aiyah Stevens late home run in the bottom of the eighth to ultimately win that game but yeah those games at the University or at Indiana Robert so that’ll be interesting to see winner of that obviously one game is gonna find themselves in a position to be set up to win and go on to the supers so that’ll be interesting to see but that’s really all I’ve got right now for you on that Midwest region excuse me the Northwood Ashland game will be at 11:00 a Eastern 10: a.m. Central and then the winner of that game will play second at approximately 2 p.m Eastern 100 p.m. central is now we head over to the South Region and a lot happened there in the South Region will is we had a lot of exciting ball games in both regions and really exciting results there as well as in the first game in the South Region number one between AUM and Savannah State a lot of back and forth Savannah State got off quickly with three runs to make it three nothing then Auburn Montgomery scored seven unanswered to make it 73 Savannah State then came back and scored five unanswered before Auburn Montgomery ended up tying it in the bottom of the eighth and they ended up walking it off on a Zach du single in the bottom of the 10th to win nine to eight as he went three for five with two RBI Cooper Dolan went three for five with a double and an RBI RH Franklin went two for three with two walks and an RBI and two runs as now they will take take on their opponent which is Lee and we saw a very good match up there between Jack nedro who was the go south pitcher of the year and the 2023 Sunshine State pitcher of the year in Alex canny we saw in that matchup as Tampa was able to tag Jack nedro for almost nine runs in that game and ultimately beating them 13 to one and not only that but head coach Joe erso and associate head coach Sam Mell collected their 1,000th win so that’s really impressive there really excited to talk about that because again that’s that’s not something that’s easy to do but within the game Alex canny 99 pitches he threw a complete game four hits one run no walks 10 strikeouts very effective there the D2 alltime hits leader EJ combo he went through three for five Homer twice had six driven in JP Gates went four for five scored twice had a double Nico saladino went three for four had a double a home run for RBI and they will await at five o’clock Eastern today the winner of the AUM League game with one win away going to the South Super Regional so that is a little bit about the south regional number one and then we go to south regional number two which was hosted by St Leo weather pushed the games back a little bit an hour and a half but we still got some very exciting games there Delta State pitched really well they pitched a shut out and they tagged uh staff that was top five in the country in ER for eight runs as Blake dendi homered and had three RBI Brandon mccaulay went two for three with Homer in 3ba on his birthday nonetheless so the birthday boy had a great day Drake know he improved eight and4 he had went six Innings didn’t give up a run struck out three and now they will play West Florida in a Gulf South tournament championship game rematch again as Embry Riddle was able to take them down 11 to5 in that second game and it was very impressive how they were able to pull that off they were starting to pull away they had a big seventh big seventh inning Keegan Perez got the win five five innings six hits two runs five strikeouts TR camon trafficante went three for four with an RBI and two walks Teo Arena went two for five two RBI Tyler castelli had homered and had two RBI AJ Marinello went three for five so Ambry re sitting in a prime position right now and I know a lot of people outside of the committee was like there’s no reason Embry Riddle should be a three seed there’s no reason that they should be up there behind both Tampa and St Leo well it looks like they’re kind of silencing those doubters because now they’re one win away from a South Super Regional will yeah they are we’ll start with South Region number one great breakdown there um obviously when you talk about being set up in a good position love what you brought up about Joe wo 24 years at the helm he’s got a comma in the win column right now highest win percentage too so he does it at the high higher clip than anybody in the country and then you also have a position where they’ve got basically two Aces on their staff one of them go improves to 12- two Yesterday by going nine innings of one run ball with 10ks no walks and the only blemish really is he just let up one long ball and ultimately just had a incredible outing Going the Distance saving the pitching and after throwing 99 pitches 72 of them were for strike so Alex Kenny had an incredible performance and Robert I don’t think anybody could be more confident than a Tampa team right now because yeah you get to await AUB Montgomery and Lee but you also have one of the best pitchers in the country well waiting to throw presumably in that game which would be the sixth and perhaps final for Tampa to put a spot in the super so that was uh really all you break down there for me personally obviously was a thrilling Auburn Montgomery Savannah State game so that’ll be a fun elimination battle that happens later on this afternoon between AUM and Lee and then on the other side St Leo getting booted getting shut out 8 to nothing against Delta and then you get get to see West Florida Delta once again that will be interesting to see what the coaches do at this time season on the line with the pitching matchups but you’re right Embry Riddle in that position right now the Ambry riddle is interesting they had a stretch this season where they had to play Rollins Tampa and St Leo and I know Rollins at the time as their back-to-back National tournament appearances wasn’t the team ultimately that perhaps everybody thought they were going to be in the very difficult Sunshine State conference but they had a tough stretch and they held their own and I think that that’s when it started to at least click for us is to say yeah you you go one and two or two and four in a six-game stretch a it’s not great when you do it against perennial Powers certainly shows you something in every riddle and the strength of schedule in the Sunshine State conference as has certainly been something that you definitely want to talk about and it’s proving to pay dividends at this time of the season so probably setting up to be a couple of Sunshine State Conference teams playing in a super come next weekend absolutely well and yeah like like you said with Tampa you have to be excited um because you had the 2023 Sun China State conference picture of the Year Alex pany throw and throw a complete game now you have the 2024 Sun China state future of the year and unbeaten skyar Gonzalez at 13 and0 plus on offense you have the reigning backto back Sunshine State Player of the Year and EJ kumbo at the plate as well so really excited you have to be feeling very comfortable with your Tampa right now awaiting that winner of the AUM leag game as now will transition onto the Southeast region and talk a little bit there and some very exciting stuff happened there as there’s one game in the Southeast region number one with Kataba and UNCC Penbrook that was an elimination game for Kataba but they ultimately were able to come back in a very back and forth game and a wild throw on a ground ball was able to give them a five to four win late as Kataba now advances to the title game as Cooper Bryson went three for four Sam Hunter went two for four and they will await their opponent which again will be the winner of the UNCC Penbrook Young Harris ball game at 1200 PM Eastern and they will await that winner as that’s going to be a tough region to get through again doesn’t matter who who’s in there all three of those teams are very capable of winning going into this region all three teams had 39 or more wins so that’s that’s plenty to say about how successful these teams are with with winning so really anybody could win there and then we flip over to the Southeast region number two and well we had a we had a match up between the 2021 national champion against the 2022 national champion and well that was between Windgate who won in 2021 and North Greenville in an elimination game nonetheless and well North Kenville ended up going two and out so the Southeast region at least for the first time since 20121 will not be represented by North Greenville as that 11 to1 ball game was just a very back and forth game Windgate got out to a big lead before North Greenville started clawing back wind gate was up as big as 10 to2 and before ultimately winning 11-10 and cam Harris was big in that game he went three for three home run three RBI scored three times walked twice Rion ishma had a big three round home run early to give Windgate an early lead Carson Morton on the mound through great he went six Innings gave three hits three runs three walks six strikeouts and now they will play Mount Olive as Georgia College Came Out Swinging The Bats well specifically one guy Came Out Swinging to the bat and that was Matthew meban who went three for three with three home runs and eight RBI what an impressive performance by him so he went his home run total went from 17 to 20 in just one game and we’re excited to see that so seven C Georgia College might be representing in the Southeast Super Regional as their one win away they will take on the winner of this wind gate mon Olive team at four o’clock Eastern time and Kataba again they’re one win away while uncp and Young Harris are two wins away so we’re excited to see this Southeast Regional because again like we’ve mentioned multiple times two of the last three National Championship national champions came from this Regional yeah it did and in particular it came from this specific pod within the Southeast region number two bracket and it’s it’s actually North Greenville a team who’s been so good at home over the last couple of Seasons dating back to their National Title year they get eliminated Georgia College and State they put up nine against North Greenville 14 against Mount Olive and now have an inside track just needing to win one and be beat twice awaiting the result of Mount Olive winggate and both of those teams certainly capable of winning a couple of games against Georgia College and State but they’re in a good position right now and they’re kind of riding that Matthew maame momentum that they had when he had a walk-off home run to win a peach Bell conference title one of the most electric plays possible in the game of baseball well he had another big day yesterday they put up 14 and yeah this is a tough one too I mean talk about potentially a bid stealer in number one in the first pod definitely not going to be a bid Siller all these teams really good like you mentioned but it is Kataba now getting an opportunity in the same light that sagov Valley had when all those teams go one in one you get a bid to the title game and Young Harris UNC Penbrook will now play and then the winner will take on Kataba so that’ll be fun to see ultimately in that one I I think it’s all up in the air you could really pick Young Harris with how strong they’ve been UNC Penbrook with how great their offenses looked this year but they were held down just four runs yesterday against a good Kataba pitching staff so I mean it’s been lower scoring Affairs within this one I don’t know what to fully expect here today but I know that Kat at home has been a problem this year they scored a couple of runs in the bottom of the eighth yesterday to ultimately win the ball game Sam Hunter had a good day at the plate Cooper Bryson went three for four and really they got a solid start and that’s all they needed from Payne stes were at the Workhorse for them to ultimately go five innings of three-run ball and really overall they had a good pitching effort to hold down just what is a gauntlet of the UNCC pep Brook offense so that is my thoughts on that Southeast right now yeah I mean you can see by the scores there in the Southeast region number one all three two of the three games decided by one run all three games decided to buy two runs or less so that speaks the competitiv and the talent of these three teams now we go to the South Central Region we’re down to two final regions and yeah like we mentioned earlier the South Central Regional number one started to yesterday excuse me and with weather moving everything back at this was game one and well we got a very high-scoring game one between UT per and Basin and reges as UTPB ultimately won 21-2 and it was a very close game before UTPB ultimately scored nine runs in the third inning to pull away and reg just ended up coming back a little bit to make it within five or six runs but UTPB consistently kept pulling away as a lot of guys did very well there Mason Hamlin it’s definitely one guy that did very well there four for seven a double five RBI Brent rig Tru five for seven two doubles three RBI Jack Hagerty Austin hall pton Matthews they each had three hits as now they will take on Love It Christian is in that night cap love it Christian ended up winning e to four in that ball game ultimately ending regis’s season by winning a Again by that score of 8-4 Jacob Gutierrez was hot at the plate four for five double three RB but we do have to talk about Aiden olar who’s improved a seven and three for the chaps he had seven Innings of one- run ball struck out eight in that ball game so excited to see how that plays out and how that best of three will play out and I know we mentioned there in the South Central Region number two in that game so again one game and one game only and that was between Angelo State and Colorado Mesa and that was a elimination game for Colorado Mesa and well ultimately Colorado Mesa was eliminated losing by the score of 15 to eight Justin Harris had a pair of two run home runs coniger Sans had three RBI Jacob Guerrero had three went three for six had two RBI and Braxton Pearson had had five innings struck out four and got the win as the defending national champ Angelo State will now play West Texas A&M first game being at two o’clock mountain time today and then that first game today and only game in the South Central Regional number one is at four o’clock between UTPB and Love Christian in a best of three but for this game Angelo State and west texum west texum has to beat Angelo State twice to advance Angelo State needing just one win to advance to the South Central Super Regional as they have done in each of the last three years yeah I think that UT perum Basin I was uh not I mean you thought them going up against Regis yesterday as we start talking about this South Central Region number one pod um UTPB I mean I can’t lie I mean I was excited to see how they perform not because I’m a fan of any of these teams just want to cover them but I just looked at the lineup and looked at the way that they have performed throughout this year within the Lone Star conference and ultimately had picked them to get out of this now it’s going to be an absolute Challenge and um going up against Love Christian I think it’s going to be an absolute battle it’s going to be a lot of fun to see in basically a best of three series to get to the super between UTPB and L and then on the other side you’ve got Angelo just needing to win one against West Texas A&M you would expect them to do it um as you think that West Texas A&M a team that’s been good all year long but just lost control of first place in the Lone Store conference the last couple of weeks last week and uh really of the regular season after that it feels like you you could just never not think about Angelo this time of the year and they eliminate Colorado Mesa again guarantees that a team from Texas is headed to carry with the teams remaining in the two regionals absolutely and you know as we now go to the west region the final region we had two games where that were played and they’re both as part of the best of three so as Cal State San Marcos and Northwest Nazarene respectively went two and out two days ago so yesterday’s game were both best of three between calp pomar and point LMA in the west region number one and San Francisco State and Cal State Montery Bay and West Regional number two so we’ll talk about Point LMA they won eight to3 in yesterday’s ball game to take that lead that series one game to nothing is now we’ll have an 11 a.m. Pacific start time in that series as Lomo with that 8 to3 win now one win away from getting that coveted West super regionalist you know they were the national runner up two years ago in 2022 so they are no scoff to winning a lot of ball games as Jake at trenin went or Jake Jake at Tren treen went three for five home run to RBI Eric smco had a homer and three RBI Austin Coleman pitched well six Innings of two earn run ball and four strikeouts and Christian Williams through the final three as now Point L is 4210 and one in that so now they will take on calal Pon again first game 11: a.m Pacific time and if they win it they go to the West Super Regional if they don’t they play again right afterwards and then in the West Regional number two we have very exciting ball games as again San Francisco State and Cal St mon Bay playing in that CCAA title game san State forcing that if necessary game and just two of the most competitive games you’ll see another competitive game yesterday at San Francisco State ultimately won three to two behind the arm of David icorn as he went eight and two3 giving up two runs as icorn on the season against cal cal state Monterey Bay has thrown 17 and two3 innings and has given up just three runs so icorn doing such a great job there providing ing a San Francisco a big lead there amand marillo had two RBI there to help for the Gators as yeah they’re one win away and first game is at 12 o’clock Pacific time and if they win that they’ll they’ll go to the West Super Regional but K St montere bay may have something to say about that as if they win they’ll play again at four o’clock Pacific time so that West Regional we will definitely see the both uh teams of the Super Regional set after today yeah we will and when you look at Monterey Bay and San France State Monteray Bay paid a visit to San France state in the regular season there was a one-run ball game there was an Extra Inning ball game and then a couple of blowouts but then it’s just interesting that you see what happened in the conference tournament they met three more times and they played close games two one-run games and obviously that championship game was a thriller so you talk about playing four times in the regular season three times within that conference tournament and then ultimately playing now a couple times and perhaps uh one more they’ve already played a lot this year it’s kind of like Monteray Bay and San berardino last year it’s San pran State and Monteray Bay this year but San Fran right now San Francisco State in that driver seat after picking up a three to2 Victory these teams know each other so well they put together so many good games this year and it’s going to be must TV later today with San Fran State trying to punch a ticket to the Super Regionals Point LMA in a good position right now winning eight to3 yesterday just needing to win one more against calp Pomona so yeah that is kind of the breakdown it should be a lot of fun we recapped every single region talk about how most of the Champions that we’re going to see well it’s hard to say right because if necessary is Sunday for some of these regions but a good Champions will be crowned today good amount of them and then some tomorrow as well so it’s going to be a lot of fun we’ll have super regionals obviously as the week progresses uh tomorrow Monday we’ll have a recap and breakdown and preview of the super so certainly
