can you break a seven minute mile let’s see if I can I’ve been adding daily running into my workout only doing one mile a day but trying to run the mile as fast as I can started off strong with a 6-minute pace up until about3 mil and I’m already starting to feel like I’m slowing down the heat is really making this hard at a half a mile my time slowed down to a 6 Minute 53 second Pace this is around the time I feel the least motivation but I got to find a way to keep going or I’m not going to make it last 2 miles we’re running at a 722 Pace right now need to get faster on the last Point too sprinted with all I had left 716 I didn’t get it I did not get it 16 seconds off let me know if you’ve ever broken a 7 minute mile

7:12 is not bad, you’ll probably break that mark in 1 week.
I usually run 5 miles but in a 5k race I averaged 6:22 mins/mile.
If I was trying to get a faster mile time I’d do 400m repeats once per week and 3 mile tempo runs at 7:30-8 min pace another day.
Mybest is 7:25 time
ran a 4:27 last year at a track meet, will probably never do it again
Please get off the cement and onto a rubbery local high school or university track. The toll that the cement takes on your knees is irreversible! Please!!! And you can do it!!! H.W.P.O.!!!
Start bit slower let your HR catch up then about .3 start speeding up
Not even if i was on a bike
I wish I had time to just workout and play golf all day every day
Instead of running, especially on concrete. Try bicycling for miles with toe straps.. Way better for you from the waist down and your knees.
I could run a five minute mile when I was 17.
I did a 2min 56sec mile before
You might want to reconsider your approach. I started running around age 25 and could only run half-miles at a time. That's without worrying about speed. I progressed to two one-mile legs, then a single two-mile, then longer. My pace turned out to be around 7 minutes per mile. THEN I tried a single mile, as fast as I could go, and managed 6:15. Go for distance and endurance and worry about sprints later.
ran 7:30 on the running legs of Ironman 70.3 races, fastest 2 mile was 10:34 when in the Army on a fitness test.
Holding a phone & running on concrete, what could possibly go wrong? exercise a little caution ok?
Yes at 52 I ran a 6min mile when training for Ultramarathons.
Yoga will aid your golf game.
You might run a minute more quickly in New England in Spring, than in South Florida.
And carrying that phone also slows you down…
You look good.I am sure you could make a high school track team, and develop
into a competitive distance runner. You have the discipline…👏🏻👍🏻
Nearly Gabs, keep yr hands relaxed im to old fr this 7 min it will take me 17 min 😅
Dont look at yr phone Gabby run with some more pace please u can do it
Give me 100 meters my best was 11;58
I’m 13 and my pr is 5:45
I was a fast sprinter growing up but never trained any long distance because my phenonia damaged lungs as a child wouldn’t allow it. The only mile I ran was a timed 6:12 as a freshman in HS in 1980 in Arizona at over 105 degrees F, it was a cool summer morning.
I ran 5.03 at 18 in the Royal Navy, move the decimal point one place to the right and i could probably just about manage that now. Keep it up…
Throw a long run in to get your endurance up. By long, I mean get one day a week of 2-3 miles easy.
Only time I ever ran a mile I was about your age and we had to do it in Gym glass. I came in way ahead of everyone else at 5:46. I hate running because my calf muscles are freakishly ginormous. After a few minutes of running I get cramps like a mother in labor. I guess it's genetic? I mean I can walk 10 miles no problem but can't run. Keep running girl, it will help your endurance.
Keep going I am in 6th grade and I have ran a 5:40
Try running on a track with a softer surface, you just might do it!
