Varsity vs LCC

[Music] all right Eagles fans uh just about ready to get underway we got a lot of announcements that are coming out today and uh right now coach is meeting at home plate and uh we got a youth baseball day today here at the Ballfield so a lot of Liberty Benton youth players going to get introduced and uh we’re going to go through it as fast as humanly possible but hopefully as accurate as humanly possible as well big day baseball here as Liberty Benton closes in on the end of their season the last of the two final home games and uh Tournament game on Friday as well will be a home game so just three home games to close out the regular season uh including uh Tournament game sectional finals on Friday versus either the winner of van Beren or OG so we think those that have uh tuned in uh getting ready to get things started here and uh up here by myself today so going to uh try to limit the amount of uh technological challenges I have and we went live early so uh it’ll be come off a loss to Defiance on Saturday five nothing shut out didn’t get a chance to read much on the stats there and uh when you get shut out 5 nothing probably not much to talk about anyway so uh we’re going to focus on the positives I’ll be looks to get back into the wi column here talk to the LCC coach N9 and 10 right now lost a big hammer on their offense with do a broken wrist a couple days ago so they’re going to battle through that they started the season eight and four so been on a little bit of a slide here as they head into tournament play but always some good competition uh with LCC so uh we’ll look and expect that to happen here at Liberty bent High School great day for baseball when is very Breezy feels like it’s kind of blowing into US 78 M or 78° wind blowing into us I I thought maybe as I drove up here it be blowing out to left field we might see one off of the uh Jack and do hit it here pizza for a year Fieldhouse um but right now it’s actually slowing down as the wind was kind of blowing in so so we’ll see going to be uh going to be interesting day here at the Ballpark just about I think ready to go live we’re going to get the handshakes here of course we’ll always let LCC talk to his players about some of the ground rules as well and uh about six seven minutes behind schedule here at 456 so we’re going to try to hustle our way through it but got a lot of names to read off today so uh so going to be interesting here for the Eagles on the mountain it’s going to be Jarrett Han he’s having a great year leading the team in in pitched strikeouts games started games heads strike two good start here as I said in the opener Hans having a great season leading the team in most pitching statistics except for erra has pitched a lot of games that one into dirt nice stop number three Jake nyman did somebody yell Neeman I think they did I might have had it wrong defensive alignment for the Eagles pretty standard Seth elur in left Landon stands bearing Center Ashton Crawford in right again Han on the mound one down top of the first burkam behind the plate Seth or excuse me Zack elker even with a bag at third curveball lifted to the right side Crawford going to come in and make a diving grab Fly ball diving grab by Ashton Crawford for the second out of the inning now batting Short Stop number four Matthew Quatman great diving effort there as that one was in the Gap and Crawford great jump on it nice diving grab feet first made it look easy as we now have two down two down Han rocks and fires that one misses inside ball one just about hit him infield defensive alignment for the Eagles Zack elker at third his at Short Conor Arnold at second Trevon leeb at first swing and a miss one and one to count today’s designated hitter is Mason mod that one just misses inside two and one Han deing here at 81 miles an hour feeling it on a great beautiful day 78 mile 78 degrees check swing yes sir that’s a strike two balls two strikes two down top of the first Eagles hosting the Thunderbirds they came into the game N9 and 10 reeling after a fast start this season is what their coach said and when misses inside that tailing fast ball at 82 miles hour Han really diing it up here early of course the ball field on the lb side is stands are packed with all the youth here today slow roller to the left side his can’t come up with it on a diving catch I don’t know if he would have got him at first anyways single for Quatman two down now batting catcher number 14 Billy Burke so put that one in the hole that was going to be base hit nice effort by his to kind of sliding backhand it would have been a heck of a play if he would have got him I don’t know if he would have even had a chance again we thank everybody for tuning in just the top of the first year off to a late start as we introduced boy I don’t know how many 60 youth here today joining our Varsity players on the field exced exciting times as Burke the catcher big tall catcher digs in from the left side that one in dirt nice stop by burkam LCC going looking to get on the board early here defensively Stanberry straight away in Center despite the Lefty at the plate little bit surprising there as the wind blowing in pickoff attempt oh had him leaning but able to stumble back is Quatman don’t have any stats on pickoffs I know that stanbury’s got a boatload of them that was a great move there by by Han another pickoff attempt he’s not getting a good read off of Han he kind of stutters a little bit but Quatman able to get back again one ball no strikes two down top of the first here at Liberty Benton High School Eagles on their final three- game home stand including sectionals on Friday that one lifted High to the left side eler from Left Field charging charging going toward the bullpen Dives looks like he makes a catch I don’t yeah we got it that’s a catch fly ball to left field hauled in by the diving oer for the third out of the inning no runs on one hit one Runner left and we head to the bottom of the first z0 what a play there by Seth elert ranging way to his right into the bullpen diving went out of our vision and uh boy it took the umpires forever to call it which kind of out of their Vision too give him a break there and and uh showed the ball and Snider rung him up and uh no arguments from the coach uh so we’ve got ourselves a hit or we got ourselves the third out of the inning and uh a good inning there for Han although the LCC did put the bat on the ball even though he’s climbing into the 82 mph range so no runs one hit one Runner left no walks and a strike out we’ll go through the defensive alignment here for LCC as we write it down Quatman Michael is in center field uh in left field is falky in right field is schneiders at third base is Day Hill Short Stop is Matthew Quatman gota assume those two are brothers at second base is nyman could be Neiman might have to go with Neiman going forward first base is Malcolm on the mound being pitch or being DH for his Parker and behind the plate is Burke who lifted that highfly ball into left field was hauled in in the bullpen again great catch there I got Neiman also the [Music] DH so good start for the Eagles here we thank everybody for tuning in nice curveball there by Parker on the mound another guy pretty lengthy for LCC again no stats for LCC unable to stumble across those catcher’s got a good arm leading off the bottom of the first for the Eagles the right fielder number 19 Ashton Crawford I don’t know if I’ve missed it this season or if that’s the first time it happened but uh Crawford and the catcher Burke giving each other fist bump not sure if those guys are familiar with each other that’s a standard first batter scenario didn’t you don’t usually see that in high school first pitch misses outside 76 miles hour ball one to Crawford Crawford on the season batting 321 having a great year that one misses low again 76 miles hour low and outside two and0 to Crawford Ashton batting 321 uh has played an 18 of the 23 Eagles games 22 Eagle games excuse me that one misses way outside Burke unable to handle that one Lee the batter on in the hole runs over to retrieve that one three and0 here Crawford expect be taken all the way interesting that the defensive alignment straight up here would expect that if this one’s a strike I would expect Crawford to be squaring around on the 3-1 pitch takes that one catches the inside corner for a strike three and one would expect him to be button here with a third baseman two steps behind the bag at third and Crawford the Speedy leadoff hitter for the Eagles bottom of the first 0 3-1 pitch on its way that one just about catches his nose Ball Four Crawford draws the lead off walk now batting for the Eagles the short stop number three Conor his Crawford on the season stolen bases eight his not bunting that one catches the outside corner for a strike at 74 not bunting his leads a team in a bunch of offensive categories batting average 419 on base percentage 500 26 hits tied for the lead with 20 singles with Trevon Lee who coincidentally is on Deck does Square takes just misses outside one and one Crawford with a nice secondary lead but no uh Danger on being picked off there his now gets the sign one and one third baseman now even with the bag for LCC that’s Dill Malcolm holding on Crawford squares again there’s a bunt back to the pitcher this is a great bunt Burks going to feel as a catcher no chance at first uhoh Here Comes Crawford to third we got to play at third he’s going to be in under it bunt single for his great base running Crawford to Third now batting first baseman oh we’re going to have uh we’re gonna have an appeal here I think palnik you make having to make the call first and third and uh I thought that the ball beat him but I thought Crawford missed the tag I I thought he slid around the tag so we’ll see if he appeals to the home plate umpire he’s definitely not happy with the call but being respectful as he talks to pnik in the field of course pnik had to call him safe at first and then had to wheel around and look at third Snyder has a better angle on it I to be honest from home we’ll see as they now are huddling if there’s a change again a bang bang play at third pnck called him safe the longer this deliberation the worst I think it gets for the Eagles still safe now batting for the Eagles the first baseman number 15 Trevon Lee so I don’t know exactly how they rule that I’m going to call it a single but I think it’s probably a sacrifice but man that was such a good bunt by his Runners now at the corners for the Eagles no outs bottom of the first game tied at zero first pitch there goes a delayed steal by his throw to the second baseman lets it go through it hits his and he’s safe boy a lot of action his steals second on the pitch so Runners at second and third lot of action there I don’t know that was that a strike nope that was a ball one ball no strikes so now Runners at second and third you got your best one of your best hitters Trevon Lee he’s got 20 signals that’s tied for the team lead 25 rbi’s tied for the team lead it’s having a great years that one’s in the dirt nice stop by Burke keeps the runners where they’re stationed two balls no strikes little discussion now between uh Catcher And pitcher not sure if they’re getting crossed up on signals again we thank everybody for tuning in to the broadcast here Eagles looking for a fast start here to shake off the cobwebs from Saturday’s 5 loss to a good Defiance team always a big good program up there as the Eagles traveled up there on Saturday Trevon Lee at the plate hiss at second craw at first excuse me third Runners at second and third first in at the corners is LCC double not double play depth because there’s not a runner at first that one high but called a strike two and one Lee taken all the way Lee also leads a team with 16 walks and has two sacrifice flies here’s a sacrifice fly opportunity for the young man he’s tied for the lead with sacrifice flies wind starting to shift now over more right to left making that play by Seth elur in the first impressive as that one’s fouled straight back into the glass if we had the iPad we’d be doing some glass break nobody from LCC retrieves the ball so Connor Arnold will do so I guess that’s probably on the offensive side how it’s supposed to be two balls two strikes here to Lee bottom of the first there goes the scoreboard z z is the score and just like that it’s back as Lee standing right on top of the plate there’s a slow roll to the right side second baseman going to field it cleanly throws on to first got him ground ball nean to Malcolm for the first out of the inning but Crawford scores the first run for the Eagles now batting third baseman Zack elart his advance to third on the play so nice work there by Lee breaks the RBI tie that he had with this young man Zack elert who has a chance to time right back up that first pitch catches the outside corner at 76 miles an hour Parker steady di to 76 mph fast balls on the outside corner see how the Eagles adjust again Zack having a great season as well for the Eagles leads the team and doubles with six home runs with two rbi’s tied well now trailing came in tied see fouls that one back no balls two strikes he leads the team in run scored with 24 sacrifice flies tied at two so sacrifice fly we give him the leaded sacrifice flies and time back for the lead in RBI for the team second all the infielders in now from LCC that one just misses outside one ball two strikes tough take there for elker but gets the call Zack does lead the team in strikeouts though with 14 Parker sets one ball two strike here’s the pitch that one’s lifted high in the infield Noe center fielder now charging second baseman goes out he makes the grab his not tagging got a late jump there little miscommunication Fly ball by elert hauled in by the second baseman Neeman for the second out of the inning now batting for the Eagles second baseman number 17 Conor Arnold so Arnold comes to the plate and what should have been a big inning so far is only one run and I’m sure that Parker and the coach for LCC schneiders would be happy to walk out of here with just one run given up first pitch on the outside corner 75 miles hour fast ball first strike one to Arnold Arnold on the season also having a really good year he’s batting 239 leads the team and hit by pitch with 12 he’d take one here or sacrifice bunts with four that one J misses outside one and one not a sacrifice bunt opportunity of course with two down one ball one strike two outs Eagles lead by one in the bottom of the first that one in dirt nice stop there by Burke that keeps his 90 fet away at third base two balls one strike to Conor Connor Arnold Connor Co joined by his younger brother Cooper Arnold today and youth baseball Day so a thrill I’m sure for the Arnold Family two balls one strike swing and a miss I thought it was strike three Arnold just strike two well that’s relax oh is that the BBC trophy over there got the BBC Trophy up here scoreboard Mafia p pointing that out Cameron oswal and Maguire I don’t know his last name remains unknown joining us up here doing a great job on the scoreboard as Arnold chops at that one and stays alive two balls two strikes two down one runner on Eagles leading one nothing here at Liberty baton High School taking on the LCC Thunderbirds Parker rocks and Fire that one’s High Arnold takes Full Count On Deck is Seth elert made a great catch to end the first inning sure would love a chance to hit here rnie can get on or push his in way outside Arnold draws the walk put Runners at the corners with two down now batting left fielder number 11 Seth elert so back to Runners at first and third here for the Eagles be interesting to see what Arnold does over there at first of course Raider always likes to push the envelope here in the first and third situations we’ll see if they’re able to execute with two down it’s always a little bit tougher and you got a hot bat at the plate that one catches the outside corner for a strike Seth on the season batting 322 leads a team with three triples and 19 stolen bases so the stats leaders spread pretty evenly throughout the Eagles four or five guys with some greed marks beside them for leaders 01 pitch here Arnold not moving way outside nice stop there by Burke keeps everybody at Bay I mentioned it earlier when he batted in the first Burke a real tall catcher very athletic strong arm we did first and third in the uh earlier part of the inning he threw that one down to second just a rocket not going hesitation elker drives one deep to right right fielder going back back and he’s got it Fly ball to right field hul in by sheeters ends the inning but the Eagles strike for one run on one hit in strand two after one complete they lead one- nothing fans uh only able to strike through with one like I said uh coach sneers would be I’m sure is happy with that result you never want to give up a run in the first but boy could have been a lot worse as Eagles had Runners on second and third with no outs and then Runners at first and third with two outs so uh he’s he’s ultimately got to be happy I think there no errors Eagles left too on base one walk no strikeouts for the Eagles but the Eagles do lead one nothing now batting right fielder number two JJ schneiders so JJ to the plate he one has got to suspect that he is the coach’s son with the same last name as now Zack elker at third two steps in on the Green Turf expecting bunt first pitch catches the outside corner for a strike Han in the first struck out one did give up a hit that one misses inside and low I probably low more so than inside actually one ball one strike just 75 miles an hour on that breaking ball standard defensive alignment outside of Zack elert who’s at third now one step in on the Green Turf that one ah had to be low looked good had to be low that’s hard for us to see up here higher low two balls one strike now two sneers that one misses high on outside tailing away fast ball three and one again we thinkk everybody for tuning in it’s the top of the second Eagles lead one- nothing swing and a miss for sneers three balls two strikes one nothing top of the second great day for baseball 78 degrees nice breeze that one’s ripped down the third Basel line and into the bullpen foul we’ll do it again here Full Count sneers the five hole hitter playing right field made a nice grab on the Fly ball by elert tell you what he honestly put a big charge into that one I thought it was going to be a little bit deeper but I think I think the uh the wind coming in really hung that one up schneiders made a nice play Swing in a Miss schneer down on strikes for the first out of the inning now batting the third baseman number eight Braden Day Hill so nice work there by Han battling back down 3-1 in the count and uh works the strike out gets the fist pump from his third baseman Zack eler who now taking a step back even with the bag at third first pitch Chopper right back to burkam who finds it and gloves it but he’s in foul territory would have been any interesting if he would let that go if it would have rolled into Fair territory not likely but felt like it had maybe a little bit of Top Spin stanbury now comes in a couple steps as does eleron left in Center that one in for a strike at 81 miles hour again H just opening things up the tall lanky senior pitcher ahead to count no balls two strikes one out here in the top of the second there’s a chopper back to the pitcher Han gently Fields it throws on to first got him Han to lead for the second out of the inning now batting the designated hitter number 22 Nick Neeman so nice job there by Han I actually thought burkam might take it and Han just ever so graciously Fields it throws on to leave for the second out of the inning Neeman to the plate designated hitter that went in for a strike 80 miles hour there he’s batting for the pitcher Brady Parker and his brother I can only assume is playing second base for LCC that one off the inside toe of burkam and down the third Baseline not sure if Snider’s hurt or burk’s hurt and I think it’s I think I one caught it Snider as burkam makes the courtesy visit to the pitcher and Returns the ball one ball one strike so uh Brothers Neeman on the team Brothers Quatman on the team and Father’s son coach sneers and right fielder sneers So Family Affair here for the LCC Thunderbirds as it’s one-1 pitch from Han swing and a miss strike two one ball two strikes two down top of the second Eagles lead one- nothing strike three looking Neeman down on strikes for the third out of the inning no runs no hits and none left as we head to the bottom of the second Eagles lead one to nothing a great ending there by Han star off a little slow going three and one but then puts up a bunch of goose eggs and two strikeouts to add to his team lead came into the game with 50 strikeouts leading stanbury by five and adding to it with three in the first two innings again we thank everybody for tuning in today just a beautiful day for baseball looking at some uh Senior Day items looks like uh Conor Bush’s favorite sports pickle ball and golf Conor is going to be going to Ohio Northern University for accounting favorite memory appears to be the baseball trips we will try to touch on some of those throughout the game leading off the bottom of the second for the Eagles the center fielder number 13 Landon stanburry stanbury comes into the game having a great season pitching lead a team with tied for the team lead game started except for today Han passes him as that first pitch in high at 72 miles hour leads a team with six wins he is G his ER is 63 would be leading the team except for Seth elard is at zero that one J misses him and his inside two and0 on a season at the plate Landon Stanberry batting 288 17 singles and has scored 17 times that one misses High three and0 so Parker starting off the second inning much like Han with a little bit of control issues for those just tuning in it’s the bottom of the second Eagles leading the Thunderbirds one- nothing that one’s called a strike three and one Stanbery didn’t hesitate taking all the way at 3 0 3-1 bottom of the second no outs Eagles lead one to nothing that one catches the outside corner for a strike three and two now to stanbury the count runs full as Parker battling back for the Thunderbirds that one misses outside Ball Four Stanberry leads off the second with a walk now batting the pitcher number five Jarrett Han so stanbury gets the lead off walk for the Eagles Honda the plate would expect him to maybe be Bunning the Lefty he does squares around BS that one into the screen we’ll see if Day Hill at third for the Thunderbirds makes an adjustment he was even with the bag last pitch we’ll see if he adjusts in see if there’s any defensive adjustments there for LCC Han on a season batting 271 doing it from both sides of the plate when he gets both sides of the field when he gets the opportunities there his pickoff move having a great day on great season on the mound and great season in the field and at the plate all ground great senior season for Jarrett stands very nice lead over there at first couple steps in is Day Hill at third 01 pitch high and outside big lead secondary there by stanbury Brook looked like he was going to throw to first and hesitated a little bit challenging here with Han the Lefty kind of in his way on that throw to first one ball one strike no down no outs bottom of the second Eagles lead one to nothing squares again takes outside for strike two so now in the hole we’ll see if he’s Bunning at one ball two strikes of course any bunts got to be fair with two strikes Han does have two sacrifices on the season right back up the middle that’s a base hit for Han Stanberry rounds B hung up a little bit in the center field but he’ll stay there base hit up the middle for Han Runners at first and second for the Eagles now batting the designated hitter number six 16 Mason mod so nice piece of hitting there by Han right back up the middle pitcher Parker no chance to field it thought Sansbury might be able to get to third as the ball kind of got hung up in the grass but uh Raider being a little bit cautious there as now first baseman in couple steps on the Green Turf for LCC squares to bunt catches the outside corner for a strike that’s where Parker likes to work is that fast B the outside corner so far today and that’s going to be a tough spot for ma if he’s laying down the bunt it’s automatically going to him right to First and that first baseman way in now is Malcolm for LCC no balls one strike no outs bottom of the second squares deun again gets that one down to the pitcher is he going to go to three nope looks throws to first got him Parker to second baseman Neeman covering first for the first out of the inning as mod lays down down the sacrifice bunt now batting right fielder number 19 Ashton Crawford so a nice piece of sacrifice Bunning there by Ma I thought that Parker might take a swing at 30 looked did not make the throw and made a nice play to Neeman who ranged over from second to cover first on the wheel play but great great sacrifice there now Crawford comes to the plate in the first he walked and scored the only run of the game so far that one
