In this tip I explain how to cure skying
I think everyone who has ever learned how to play this game as skyed the ball at some point. The problem with the shots is that they just don’t go anywhere plus they can be so frustrating because you don’t know how to fix them.
It’s actually quite easy to cure skying. All you have to do is make sure that you are staying behind the ball in the downswing. Most people are hitting the ball with their hands and arms. This makes them get ahead of the ball on the way down. If this occurs the club is in a descending position upon impact which causes the ball to hit the top club instead of the club face. So not only should you apply the information in this tip but you should also stop trying to the the ball hard with your hands and arms. Just turn them off and allow them to relax.
Once you learn how to stay behind the ball in the downswing, the club makes more of a sweeping motion for upward motion as it hits the ball. This makes the ball contact the face giving you the proper flight.
Make sure you watch this tip and apply the fix that I mention in your practice sessions. If you do you will learn how to stay behind in no time and make better contact which will definitely allow you to prevent these shots from occurring in the future.
