Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in golf’s annual rotation, and perennially features the strongest field in the men’s game based on the Official World Golf Rankings. Known for dramatic finishes and notable champions, the Wanamaker Trophy—which has been awarded to the winner since 1916—is inscribed with names such as Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player.

The 2024 PGA Championship is set to take place between 13-19 May at Valhalla Golf Club. The reigning champion is Brooks Koepka.

minwu Lee is with us at the 106 PJ Championship minwu a 566 for you today what went well out there for you uh a few chip-ins which was nice um that definitely helped the scorecard um but a bit more solid than yesterday yesterday I just had a few Miss iron shots and uh today it was uh it was trending in the right direction so um yeah the chip-ins were nice obviously and um yeah that you know those were birdie so uh yeah it was most of the score that’s great thanks we’ll take some questions starting with Jeff you can you take us through a couple of those chip in I know you had the long one at 16 and do you consider short game a really big strength of yours yeah uh it it’s a weird one like last couple weeks I’ve haven’t chipped as good as I normally do um you know normally I’d have a chipping around a tournament and I’ll chip it on a decent line I would probably nearly close to hold it or um be around the hole but the last couple weeks it’s been you know pretty average so it’s it’s nice for the confidence you know to to hold three of them and they weren’t easy ones uh 16 was pretty special it was in a it was in deep rough into the Grain and um I was just trying to get it on the green to close and it ended up going in and yeah it was just it was just one of those days where it kind of went my way and uh yeah they just dropped you would you consider those pretty hard just up and downs like never mind holding them just to get up and down around here to yeah I mean yeah for sure 16 was if you can get up and down there most uh any I mean out of 10 times like three times I mean you’re doing pretty good so that one was definitely a bonus um I hold one on I hold a short one uh that was kind of tough it was like down and up the tier um and I don’t remember the third one but yeah it was it was nice it’s nice one so 7 2 66 that’s a nice progression so what do you need to do to keep that Trend going um I think my iron play needs to be a bit better uh again I mean the chip-ins were great iron play wasn’t that good and you know made up for it with the chipping but um you know just got to lock in with the irons a bit more um I’ll go to the range later and try to figure it out but uh I think to win or play well at these events you got to you got to hit it good you got to hit it in the right spots which I did better than yesterday and uh I’ve been driving it really well so um and putting well so hopefully the irons uh cooperate and low scores over to Jim uh obviously a a tragic and unfortunate morning wonder what your experience was like getting into the course this morning in terms of what time you arrived how long it took that sort of thing yeah um yeah it was a weird morning I mean obviously it’s very sad about the news um and then obviously Scotty what happened to Scotty uh I mean I I got in at I would say 5:30 around there i’ would say maybe a bit somewhere around there I think and uh it was yeah it was just a weird one obviously so much traffic and uh yeah I I mean I don’t know I was a bit shook about what happened um on both the scenarios and uh yeah I mean it was during the round it was even hard to just concentrate and I had to make sure to you know keep my head in the game because I mean I wouldn’t want that to happen to anyone um and yeah obviously what happened to Scotty was very scary too uh and um yeah hopefully he’s okay and uh yeah you actually tweeted about Scotty why what compelled you to do that yeah uh it was just more like I thought it was a little overreaction I mean I I think I me I personally I went around traffic um and I was following cars uh a car a Lexus car that was you know one of the courtesy cars and uh yeah I just I just thought it was more just you know I thought it was a bit of an overreaction I thought I mean a lot of people were doing it he was in a courtesy car too so I don’t know why I don’t know what kind of caused it but um it was just more just to I mean yeah there was no really meaning to it I just thought it was an overreaction I just wanted yeah to I mean make it a situation where it was yeah it was just a strange morning all right thanks for your time and we appreciate it cheers
