Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in golf’s annual rotation, and perennially features the strongest field in the men’s game based on the Official World Golf Rankings. Known for dramatic finishes and notable champions, the Wanamaker Trophy—which has been awarded to the winner since 1916—is inscribed with names such as Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player.

The 2024 PGA Championship is set to take place between 13-19 May at Valhalla Golf Club. The reigning champion is Brooks Koepka.

Rory melroy is with us now at the 106 PJ Championship we will jump right into questions starting on Mike 6 Rory five under 66 but felt like you might have left a few out there how would you categorize this round I don’t know about that I sort of felt like it was pretty Scrappy for the most part so I don’t really feel like I left many out there I thought I got a lot out of my game today um you know some good up and Dawns you know the chip in on six uh you know I had a little bit of a a scrappy part of on the turn there but you know overall really happy with uh not really happy with how I played but at least happy with the score Mike 10 uh Rory a bit of an adventure there on 18 but you got out with a park could you go through that hole Yeah so um I was pretty sure it was in the water off the tea and then when I got up there the um I guess the two ball spotters or Marshall said that they didn’t really see it or like they couldn’t really hear it but um you know I went over to the other side just to check but you know was pretty sure it was in the water so yeah dropped and uh took my medicine and yeah made a great up and down from about 120 yards to make par which was important after making Boogie on 17 so uh you know and that you know kept any momentum that I had going into the next nine next seven is it the is it the kind of golf course that you feel like can get harder as the week wears on or do you feel like you’re going to have to keep the pedal to the metal all week um yeah the greens could get a little bit firmer so that could um make it a little a little more tricky um but even if the fairways dry out this is OA the ball doesn’t really go anywhere when it lands so um I mean I could see the golf course getting a touch fmer but I think it’s still going to be pretty loose scoring Mike 18 17 sorry too many choices um was it nice to be inside the ropes Rory and just to concentrate on golf obviously other things going on this week it’s always nice to be inside the is it do you find it easy we always ask players about comp compartmentalizing um is that something you’re good at and you’re going to have to rely on this week happy to be here Mike 13 Rory you hit a bunch of good R wed shots today you mentioned one just earlier um I know that was something that you butch said you guys kind of talked about is there anything you’re going to that’s just helping you with that stuff um yeah I think just the same feelings I’ve I’ve um been having with my golf swing uh feel strength uh in the club face on the way back and then trying to keep that strength so that it forces me to really get out of the way uh you know on the D swing so that’s really that’s the thought with the wedges and with the IRS mike 12 Rory it seems like the scores are a little bit lower today did you see anything out in the course and conditions that may have led to that it’s soft you know greens are really soft um espe you know especially for the guys that played last week at Quil Hollow where the greens were you know particularly firm uh you know you come to you know greens like this it it you know second shots are easier um you know chip shots are easier if you do miss the the the greens so um I think just that um you know the difference between last week in Charlotte and this week it’s it’s a big difference and you know I think for the guys that played last week it’s a um you know it’s a little less challenging at at the minute around the greens got time for two more Mike eight followed by Michael 11 hey uh Rory you’ve already touched a little bit on on the 18th hole but I was hoping you could maybe just expand a little more not just on the saving par there but then the very next hole it hits the flag stick and then you get birdie just how key that two-hole stretch was to you getting this round today yeah it was it was um yeah it was huge you know I could have you I I could have you know easily Boogie 18 and be back to even par and then again that ball on one could have hit the flag stick and went anywhere I could have made Boogie from that so potentially being one overp par through 10 two under so it’s a three shot difference so it’s a you know it’s it’s it’s a big swing thanks for your time Roy appreciate it

  1. It's always the same BS questions. Can you go through your round and tell us why you played the way you did? I wish the players had the balls to say no more press/media questions after being done on the course. If the journalists can't watch them play and arrive at their own conclusions then they better get a different job. Bunch of dumb-asses.

  2. Love that he’s working on keeping the strength in the club face which as he says forces him to turn out of the way. It’s key for him as his poor swing is to get stuck and flip. Hope we see the results this week.

  3. What about your upcoming Divorce Rory? Nothing but soft ball questions…… nothing knew… only Softball questions to Rory and Tiger 🐅 😊

  4. Guy seems like he’s mentally free of that detrimental battle axe who was negatively affecting his game. He most likely already has a side that is keeping him in good spirits. He’s in a good spot – look for him to be right there on Sunday as well as the last two majors of the year ⛳️

  5. It's funny how Rory doesn't want questions about his divorce, yet had no shame in helping Jay Monahan use the victims families of 9/11 to try to publicly shame LIV golf and the players who joined. You reap what you sow. He got off lightly here, if the press had more balls they would have asked tougher questions that they would have asked if it was Phil or Patrick Reed etc.

  6. Rory … You, Tiger, and other players should petition to have the questions approved beforehand… that should be standard … these interviews can get annoying for all 🙄😣🤪❤️⛳️

  7. Every single reporter asked about golf except for one. I think those reporters were pretty good

  8. Imagine having a problem with reporters not asking him about his divorce. Fucking losers.

  9. He actually had a bad day off the tee today so if he gets that straightened out he could go really low if the greens stay soft

  10. You have to understand the whole premise of journalism is mentally ill. Its to always bring in a negative, it's to create disharmony, to stoke trouble, with an agenda set by an 'editor' who has a boss whose aim is to sell. The idea is that conflict will sell.

  11. What an inappropriate and disrespectful question! It is not our business ! Let's focus on Golf!

  12. My level of respect for Rory has dropped after Rory filed for divorce from his wife the day after Mother's Day! Really Low Class! A real man doesn't desert his little daughter who doesn't understand when she asks her mother "where's daddy?"
