Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in golf’s annual rotation, and perennially features the strongest field in the men’s game based on the Official World Golf Rankings. Known for dramatic finishes and notable champions, the Wanamaker Trophy—which has been awarded to the winner since 1916—is inscribed with names such as Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player.

The 2024 PGA Championship is set to take place between 13-19 May at Valhalla Golf Club. The reigning champion is Brooks Koepka.

right Tiger Woods is joining us back at the 106 PJ Championship we’ll jump right into questions starting with Dan on seven y t tiger it looked it looked like you were moving pretty well physically um do you feel like I know it’s every day is different for you but do you feel like zooming out like you’re you’re getting stronger uh I am getting stronger for sure um it’s just that uh I just don’t play a whole lot of competitive rounds um played since the Masters so it’s a little bit different than being at home and um playing flat Florida courses we’ll go next to Mike one followed by 14 and four tiger over here you spoke about what happened Saturday at Augusta is that a thing you know how your body will can you tell the night before do you not know till Saturday till the morning of or when you start swinging the club each day is a little bit different um some days it’s uh better than others um and it’s just the way it is my body is just that way um some days it feels great and other days um bit a bit of a struggle yeah 14 uh tiger um do you have a like Target ball speed in mind or a number where you can say I’m fast or slow today or no I I don’t even know what my ball speed is I couldn’t tell you I do it at home and on Range uh but I’m out at at a tournament I don’t look at any of that I’m just trying to hit shots and hit the ball on my numbers uh more than anything else John tiger how much of the how much of the first green uh could you see for your second shot on the first I could see the whole graen I could see it um underneath the trees I just had to go around a few trees um and uh hit a nice little draw eight iron in there and it I was expecting to hit just a little bit left the green and Chip back up uh but it dug in at line of soft dug in and had a you know a a 25-footer how how would you rate that shot in terms of difficulty I it you’ve seen me play I’ve hit a few shots out all the trees yeah go up to nine followed by 14 yes tiger uh you said the other day you wish you were a little sharper in which areas did you think you were better than you thought you might be or maybe were you not or or were you sort of where you thought you were today uh it it’s just the competitive flow it it took me probably three holes to get it back in the competitive flow again and um get a feel for hitting the ball out there in competition adrenaline um temperatures green speeds I mean these are all things that normally I adjust to very quickly uh it just took me a few holes to get into it and made the putt at 12 and uh got me going and made another putt at 13 here to 14 tiger in the past few years even if you’ve had to withdraw from Majors you’ve still made the cut you’ve still succeeded in doing so I’m wondering if you think there’s an art to playing a certain way and grinding out a made cut that you seem to understand better than others well you can’t win a tournament unless you make the cut so uh that’s the whole idea get to the weekend so that you can participate and have a chance to win um I’ve been on the cut number and won tournaments or I’ve been ahead and then leading the tournaments I won tournaments so but you have to get to the weekend in order to to win a golf tournament right here Mike four hey tiger I thought the rough was more difficult than what I was expecting after watching practice runs could you talk about that and I know the three putt on nine was frustrating but I thought you puted very well very well uh today you had more than 90 feet in putts if you could address those too uh well I three whipped the last two holes and wasn’t very good um bat speed on on eight whipped it past the hole and nine hit it short hit it off the heel of Putt and uh block the second one so wasn’t very good last two holes um but what was the first part your question the rough the r the rough is dense it’s just very dense um with the rain we got and just the moisture on it I know they they’ve topped it off but it’s just really really Lush and you can get lies where it sits up um you can get a three-w on it and there are other lies you know a couple times i’ had to pitch out sideways uh I laid up at uh what 13 and uh 14 so sorry 15 so depends on on the lie and you don’t have to worry about that if you’re driving a fairway and I need to do a better job of that wrap it up up at Mike 16 uh tiger obviously most of you guys you don’t win most weeks you have to be very resilient what’s what’s the moment in your career or the stretch of golf that you’ve had in your career where you’re you’re proudest of the resilience that you showed well I think that I I made a few Cuts in a row what was 140 some odd um so uh it just you have to just grind it out and it’s it’s a marathon uh major championships are a long grind and it’s just plotting along it’s it’s not a Sprint um it’s just a grind and uh I had a few years where I was able to participate for a very long time thanks for your time tiger thank you guys appreciate it

  1. I watched most of his round. He could've easily been 3 under, should've been 1 under at worst so 1 over was disappointing. Either way, it's impressive how he still beats so many active tour pros all things considered

  2. In all seriousness, I think Tiger should be changing his shirt more often. It's not good for your muscles to have a wet, sweaty shirt on for so long, especially after the round. He should change after 9 holes, then immediately after the round, too.

  3. Tiger talk about your resilience…. Well, there was that time when I made over 140 cuts in a row! 😂😂😂😂

  4. Tiger logo should have been his silhouette of a follow through or fist pump. He needs to shave his head. The hair transplants look feeble.

  5. How many times he has to talk about his situation, takes a lot of patience giving the same answers over and over

  6. If he could have just finished off par and par this would have felt like a good round. Unfortunate, hopefully he can at least make the cut now.

  7. He admits what the problem actually is. Not enough competitive rounds. He will not win until he plays more tournaments.
