It’s no secret that the Elks have to shake things up to win now and their pursuit of Mcleod Bethel-Thompson was one step in the right direction. Davis Sanchez believes Edmonton has some talented pieces and a good coaching staff and explains why they have a shot at success this season.
[Music] the Edmonton Elks off season was kind of like a college recruiter trying to lure former quarterback mlau Beth Thompson great Cup winning quarterback McLoud bethl Thompson out of semi-retirement and come back to the CFL they did that that is certainly the most impactful move they made all off season getting the quarterback that they needed be Thompson chased by Mason Bennett he gets rid of it touchdown Argo it’s no secret this brass in Edmonton right now they got a win and they got a win this year and it was really tough I think they have a talented coaching staff I think they had some talented pieces on their roster but without a veteran quarterback I think they were going to struggle and that’s not taking anything away from the talent in Trey Ford some of the stuff we saw last year behind an old line that is suspect at best was spectacular Trey was outstanding nowhere to go but he still gets rid of it into the end zone touchdown it’s showtime in regards to knowing the offense getting the ball to where it needs to be and running this offense efficiently enough behind that offensive line I don’t know if that was going to be enough or at least the coaches and organization didn’t think think that would be enough and that’s why they pushed so hard to go out to get a veteran guy when a veteran guy wasn’t available that’s why this signing was so key first and 10 look into the end zone to make them pay and they do again look at M Beth’s skill set he obviously understands defenses and he also understands the system he playing in jerius Jackson offensive coordinator and passing game coordinator he’s been with M Beth before you know this this team has a shot because they have Playmakers this receiving core is one that we’ve been talking about you got an elusive running back and Kevin Brown back there you got a quarterback now in MC Beth who can execute and really manage this offense I expect this Elks team to be a whole lot better and it starts with the guy under Center McLoud Beth Thompson for
