my recommendation the next Laker coach and out of the eight or nine names that I’ve heard his name wasn’t on there is make LeBron the coach oo I you know I have I have half kiddingly suggested let him be the player coach let him make make him the coach why you say that listen I got nothing but love and respect for LeBron I love him I think he’s one of the greatest players that ever played this game but it’s it’s obvious to me at least that he’s making a lot of decisions that’s going on in this organization no doubt from a coaching standpoint to a player standpoint so if you’re going to allow him to make those decisions all right sit on the bench and make those decisions as well be the head coach JJ ready you mean player coach player player head coach yeah wow so Paul Pierce you weren’t with us yesterday your reaction to What Byron Scott said I mean he’s already the coach skip I mean what do you need to make him the official coach for which isn’t allowable under the collective bargaining agreement by the way you know not technically but he already is a coach you need a face it’s almost like the president you know he’s the president but then you have the Congress and the Senate making all these decisions I mean sounds good but this is unpresidented this hasn’t happened since day cowens Russell and if this was to happen some way they can finagle the collective bargaining agreement LeBron don’t want to be account held accountable for their failures you know as constructed this wouldn’t be a good idea this will be this will be some Legacy accountability that’ll take a hit if the Lakers don’t do well now that you’re officially making all the decisions because we know behind the scenes you making a lot of of the the decisions yeah and so this is not a good look but Legacy wise this can hurt him or it can bolt him to being the best player ever say LeBron does become the player coach and they win it all that’ll be incredible but under the collective bargaining agreement it’s it’s because of cap circumvention want to have he can say I’m the coach and we pay you 5 million right yeah so you know you can’t do not that he needs it yeah right but I I I I don’t I don’t know if there’s a coach out there that makes sense but then you got to ask yourself what are we trying to do next year we’re not a contender as constructed yeah they are so no they not they are not they’ve been in a play the last 10 years yeah but like not they not as Constructor are not a championship Contender how could how how is it that they’re not they just was in the Western Conference Final last year year and then they was in the playoffs again this year every year but they were in the playoffs play in to make the playoffs this is not playing you’re not a contender that’s not true you’re not a contender if you’re in the playing got there last year I was about to literally say I was literally about to say that skip the Miami Heat was in the play in the Miami Heat smacked y’all upside y’ head and then rolled into Denver we won’t see that happen again this just said y seeing y’all seeing lucky runs that that won’t happen again how’s it a lucky run won’t happen again come on we was in the play in last year and we went to the Western conf would even want all the responsibility on him that’s true true that’s true they always need a scapegoat that’s true he probably wouldn’t want the responsibility there’s no question about it wouldn’t happen like you said anyway because the CBA is not going to allow it to happen the way the CBA is constructed today now whether or not they can go and talk to the you know the PA and they can get with the the owners and figure it all out they probably wouldn’t even do it it sounds good skip but in the end it’ll made good for TV yeah but you but you’re trying to win games he ain’t doing this they’re not trying to win games in La no more man they not trying to win games why not what do you mean we not trying to win games look at the roster okay so we was missing gave Vincent for a few we we want we signed him for a reason then VY gets hurt man you ain’t saying nothing that’s going to convince me that if they were healthy that they would have been a better team we had a knockdown shooter that they wanted we had a defensive guy in Vanderbilt that we had out on the floor okay now come on now you got to think Byron said these things because there’s nobody out there currently can coach LeBron that’s but that’s saying something totally different though that’s saying ain’t that saying something that’s totally different what is that saying though no that’s totally different like if there’s there’s the list there’s a list they have right now of guys that’s saying this could be the best yeah there’s about nine guys that they that they say one of these guys could be the coach and for Byron who Laker yeah Laker Laker to the heart grew up right here in Englewood Lakers he’s like damn can’t nobody I don’t see nobody on this list that I feel comfortable coaching LeBron so he said why don’t we make LeBron the coach so what is that saying well there’s people on the list that that’s comfortable coaching him but does LeBron want to be coached by those people and does and is it that the Lakers do the Lakers want to hire them skip or is it such that they’re looking for a a wish list that LeBron has that’s maybe only two or three guys this is what I say they need to do they need to hire the next coach to take them into the future the future I mean listen listen I need a coach that’s gonna be like hey LeBron’s probably got let’s say Max three years let’s say Max three years but if I’m giving LeBron three years I’m trying to win a championship in them three years though listen the Lakers weren’t trying to win a championship in Co Kobe’s finals years yeah but LeBron when Kobe’s finals years it’s not the same as LeBron final years Kobe wasn’t it’s not Kobe didn’t have no Anthony Davis yeah but Kobe was still think 60 he scored 60 in his last game ever like you tell him you couldn’t put a couple pieces around him that you could still contend now we we we didn’t have pieces man I don’t remember what the roster was but it was no pieces it was nothing all we had was all we had was a guy that when we can go on the road we can sell tickets for the visitors cuz we can always sell tickets at St that’s what this is about right now no it’s dude is 39 years old and he going to be on the why are we giving that giving him still these same expectations at 40 now cuz he’s showing us he can still do it he’s showing us that he can still sell out Arenas I don’t even have his numbers in front of me because I didn’t want to I still sell out Arenas he can still be a draw but as far as contending with LeBron as your number one guy that’s not happening so unless you can bring a guy who could be I know he was our number one guy I would Davis Davis is not a number one guy on a contendant team it’s clear that he’s great at being number two skip all right look Paul gonna drive me crazy I’m with kesan on this I like this roster to start this year but I thought Gabe Vincent was just what the doctor ordered for LeBron cuz he’s a catch and shoot three-point shooter at the highest levels who did against Denver in game two of the finals and right away he had a knee issue and then they waited and waited and he finally got it scoped and he never even got he did against didn’t he do it against Miami too yeah oh okay yeah he did I mean uh Miami at a 29o game Gabe Vincent I mean you know why you know why they leave you open because they got other people to worry about and and that’s the point and that’s the key they leave you they got other people they got other people to worry about Jared Vanderbilt’s as good a perimeter Defender as there is in the league they just missed him that that was a missing piece to their puzzle and Christian Wood is a stretch five y reach this morning you know they had if you give the the full roster if you give him Health LeBron looked like he was 39 going on 29 for most of the year he was putting up big numbers and is going to continue to put up numbers here’s what the Laker Legends saw this is why Byron spoke up and spoke out because they’re trying to defend Darin ham because he got them to the conference final last year and four straight times there right there in the fourth quarter and LeBron disappeared he just couldn’t make a shot in the fourth quarter and then this year games one and two Byron knows what’s up he he’s watching and fourth quarter a game one I don’t know what LeBron’s doing he’s pouting or whatever and he just checks out and the team got him right to the pr precip against and and couldn’t get him over the edge because LeBron decided he wasn’t going to shoot in the fourth quarter then game two LeBron winds up with a shot to win the game and again you’re going to miss it’s but it’s just it’s like a free throw this is not a script this is sports just because you close one year and just because you close one game or two games or three games that don’t mean you closer than you think Byron didn’t want to see Darin have to pay for LeBron’s failures you know like like it’s it’s what you said the quote unquote goat always needs a scapegoat and it’s always the coach and so what’s the Litany of coaches he’s had since he’s played over the last it’ll be four it’ll be four with the Lakers and I forgot I stopped counting in his career all right and so Byron takes that personally to the point he says okay LeBron you do it but we all know again it’s against the rules but just hypothetically LeBron’s not going to do it because then he wouldn’t have anybody to blame you know he can’t blame himself right right and by the way I I watch I don’t necessarily know that he’s blaming I don’t necessarily know he’s blaming okay but I’ve watched LeBron because he would never he would never blame Ty luk no he’s not okay he just wouldn’t do it and what what stuck in everybody’s craw is that fit that LeBron threw at Darvin late in the one game that they won when he wanted him to challenge and LeBron was right about it but man he showed him up and I’m sure those fits the Lakers I’m going to a full rebuild a full Ain nobody going to no rebuild man what are you talking about we got two of the top 15 players in the league on our team and you want us to blow the thing up yeah you lost in the first round you won one game okay if they got your number and you were y didn’t rebuild all right so now when you look at the playoffs next year let’s look at next year hey Denver’s still going to be pretty good right but you know what them teams at the bottom they gonna get better too Houston’s going to be better sure they are Memphis is coming back they gonna get John Mar what’s our what’s our only problem our only problem is Denver New Orleans they coming Zion if he’s healthy okay okay the Lakers they just blow like y’all should try right now to see if we can get some young pieces some draft picks to prepare for the future the window of opportunity for the Lakers to win a championship is over see you I’m tired of you guys holding on Hope like you’ve been in the play in for the last 10 years look it’s not going to happen again Paul I’m a they so desperate everything so desperate out here in that L where you’re like there’s not even a coach out here who could coach LeBron so LeBron may be the coach so that’s telling me though you know what this is over I am going to strip you of your Hall of Fame credential right now cuz you sound like you don’t know what you looking at team that’s won one the Denver one game out of their last nine playoff games the Denver Nuggets are the only team that has a thorn in our side all right so if think they can bees hold on I’m about to we gonna get to Minnesota but I’mma ask you what’s a thorn in Minnesota in Denver side against Minnesota the fact that they got trees we ain’t got no trees we got one tree that’s it and that’s ad you got the what’s the the Jackson Hayes and come on man stop when we had when we had Dwight Howard whether it was the bubble or not the bubble and we had McGee we can throw big bodies at the joker now he was a little bit younger then but still we could negate certain things we don’t have that if we can go out there and get some young bodies some trees we going to be just like a damn Minnesota against them n you ain’t got no you ain’t got no Anthony Edwards over there LeBron James is doing no that’s different that’s different this the new age I understand it’s the new age but you acting like LeBron is me out there trying to play basketball right now blow it up and and do what with LeBron and AD what are you talking about you don’t you you keep LeBron for the draw we don’t need a draw we draw anyway you can pull some first round picks for a similar to what Rudy Gober did when they traded him they got five first round picks if you can do that you try you got to prepare for your future because if LeBron retires next year this year or the year after then what you g to do what y’all he’s eventually going to retire everybody retire you got understand this is a business this is the business of basetball Paul here’s the point did you watch Lakers Denver any game and say the Lakers are just overmat cuz they’re not they’re never overmatch it took a miracle shot it took a miracle shot it looked like I was I was watching Big Brother versus little brother dude it took a miracle shot for Jamal Mur well it took the first one for Jamal Murray to hit a shot near his bench with ad closing in on him he knocks that down then the second time it took another shot when LeBron should have lined it up and hit it so now you look at that and be like we’re that close so maybe next year a year after LeBron’s a year older so next we were that close this year he was a year older 10 years ago we were saying the same thing so now you saying oh we we’re right there next year we can get it because we were that close now let how this play out that’s not how this play out we right there we just need to make some adjustments get some people healthy try to figure out a couple bigs that’s available and go now you turning over your roster you you getting more new players new coach we going to get new players every single year it’s so hard to get like a chemistry that you need everybody get new players hard to get everybody get new players every sing you have to build a certain chemistry y’all got two new players this year constantly turning over your coach if you constantly turning over your player well the coach is you constantly revamping everything the culture it’s hard to win y’all got two new players in Boston this year you talking about chemistry we still have our core and we still got our and we still got our core with ad and LeBron now I don’t know what they going to do with DLo that’s probably going that’s probably going to be something different Austin Reeves is probably 75 State 25 gone so now you going to come with three more new starters and think that you going no I just say three I said Austin re is 75% probably stay 25% maybe gone depending on what you bringing in in a trade if you go out there and get a Donovan Mitchell so to speak if you go out there and you you get if you can flip a Donovan Mitchell and he becomes the number one option and I think at this point in LeBron’s career he has to be the second or third option for them to be a championship Contender he can’t be the same B dominant player you know because that’s too much pressure as see him as the number one options I think those days but I didn’t I didn’t see him as a ball dominant player this year I’m just saying if they get a do Mitchell and say he’s our number one option on offense and you can move LeBron to the number two because imagine that you’ll have the best second option in the league yeah but ad what you gonna move ad third option now you got 83d option you looking at your one two and three options that’s probably that’s pretty good right there I I want LeBron the ball in his hands orchestrating though I me we saw that story we saw that script that script ended up in the playin and that script ended up getting swept in five games okay but that script also gave you the first inseason tournament Banner that got raised well it did it did when they decided they went and beat everybody and won the let’s name them teams well in Indiana they beat Phoenix they beat New Orleans look at look at the teams y’all saying they got got swept those are the same teams New Orleans got swept and Indiana could possibly get swep you got to win one game versus these teams you just mention coach you just mentioned to me just now that these teams are going to be better next year but then when we beat them in the n Season tournament it’s a problem but these are the same teams that you just said going be better Western Conference as constructed right now the Lakers won’t even make the playoffs again next year cuz the bottom is getting better teams are going to get better like Houston’s not going to be sitting at the bottom forever Memphis not going to just keep missing the Playoffs when they healthy these are the teams that were below the Lakers you think the Lakers is just going to those teams at the top and those teams at the top are young still with young cores I listened to LeBron’s new podcast with JJ reick in which he broke down why they lost to the Denver Nuggets okay and he said I’m going to paraphrase it because I I don’t have the exact quote but he said we were right there in every game and every game went down to the wire and we just made too many late mistakes and I’m saying you got to make some late shots you know somebody has to step up and say I’m going to make this shot because Jamal made two shots for them that won two of those games and guess what I get it if it went seven games if it went seven games you could be like okay but it didn’t skip they’ve lost 12 out of 13 they have they got their number 12 out of 13 and they all go to the wire except of those it doesn’t matter if it goes to the wild we have a we do we have you lost 12 out of 13 you are not right there no no no that’s not not that’s not true because it’s we know at the end of every game we know how to beat y’all no it’s a flawed roster for the Denver Nuggets as our opponent and I and I hate to I hate to uh do what everybody else was saying as I started to look at this thing now though Paul I sit there and I say you know what it probably would have been better for us to take a shot at OKC no no no I’m saying I think the same thing would have happened no we didn’t lose 12 or 13 OKC we’ve actually beaten just the opposite it was the opposite that’s what I was getting ready to say so you’re a good matchup it’s bad for OKC bad for OKC so we as you look at it now the way things are unfolding we probably would have been best serve to kind of do a different route yep you know cuz it’s a bad is a bad match up for us take next when they get better Minnesota get better what rout y’all gonna take goodness gracious ain’t no good great goodness CRA for Paul talk they’re they’re cak walking to the east the way LeBron used mess around and get a healthy embiid and he get Paul George and Maxi Y’all Gonna Be Scared going with that you know what the nuggets are getting exposed right now and if if this if they get swept they’re going to lose some of their
