quite a bit more receptive than we’ve seen in the past couple of years during this event Karen stles is watching rosang at the eighth and this is a six on on the way for Rose good looking shot there’s an example beautiful shot but an example of the soft greens typically that green has been very firm in the past tough to get it close playing with Lydia Co and Megan Kang today this is Buddy in deor par 4 11th and how about Morgan Bailey Shoemaker she’s had quite the spring with her performance at the Augusta National Women’s Amer got in late last night after playing in the East Lancing NCAA Regional yeah that is never easy getting right off a plane playing a golf course that you’ve never seen on the up slope below the green surface kind of chuckled Karen when you said that cuz it’s hard to imagine that it could truly get any better than it was with her short game some of that is even just making those clutch putts to save par at times as well and a good chance to join the group under par up ahead at that ninth Lexi Thompson off to a good start she would have seen how much Lawrence ball spun back so just having to control the spin a little bit [Applause] here this is Lindsay Weaver Wright this was just a moment ago okay Lindsay takes it to three under Narin on at the 15th okay hugs that right Edge and drops in Birdie puted the ninth get you over to the 15th and this is Ashley Bui all right here is Rose to get Within one of saom and I think from this part of the green you can uh be quite aggressive um it’s going to be a little slower and it’s going to move to the left set left hand on the club again there Morgan that you were noticing a really good look from our camera angle there I actually set up like that for quite a long time Morgan it’s been tough for players to get close to this flag so uh we’ll see what Yan can do here 160 yards yeah there’s an edge of the green there that kicks the ball away from the hole to the left the bailout is definitely left here it gives you the best opportunity to get up and down or to putt what a beauty there so anything left of the hole will leave her an uphill putt yeah and that’s going to be a quick Speedy downhill put does only have 80 Ys to go though sounded like she maybe caught that just a fraction high in the face but that’s going to be a really good spot to putt from Maria FY for birdie at [Music] 15 on a slight up slope the wind is more across here I it’s very light this was well struck here’s Kang at 11: and this is a nan on the way this look good too I should get a little bit of a read there looks like she’s just inside of Rose leader Rose Zang at 13 it has a six arm now this whole location really suit her little draw which he’s doing Lydia Co missed the green left chipped on and she’ll still have a long part to save par this is incredible eight birdies for Rose Zang third shot at the 14th for bouer 86 yards here for the French woman I think she’s going to fancy this one Lydia Co missed the green left chipped on and she’ll still have a long part to save par this is incredible eight birdies for Rose Zen this is Steph Kaku at the par three 15th it’s falling just a little bit to her right here firm up the hill here’s Lexi at 14 77 yards for Lexi she was fortunate there cuz she had a line to the flag oh what a spectacular shot there Tom Steph kyaku at the 16th trying to get something to not draw away from the flag get short on the left there but wow what a wonderful bounce kicks kicked forward here is the tinkerer Lydia Co at 15 I think this t-shirt ought to really suit Lydia I mean she does like to hit that little fade and I do think that’s exactly what she’s going to do here the wind is there’s a little bit of help here also going to push it a little bit to the right as well so that’ll help Karen she set up left Center of this green there’s that little F to the right yeah that’s one of the best we’ve seen all day it makes a huge difference to be able to drift the ball out of 14 total opportunities Kang at 15 just taking a direct route right at it second at the 16th for Lydia Cole and after good t-shir has 174 the green is Ray so does have you do have to add just a little bit more for the uphill this was a moment ago oh yes and at the 15th Leona Maguire who did make that comebacker for par at 14 it’s been really impressive the way that she’s played after bogey on the par five seconds got six birdies since then and there the opportunity for the seventh on the day up at the 18th the second for Steph kyaku mention there’s a front here Grant whole location about seven pieces over that edge that always makes it easy for for the play for the other players in the group you know they have a really good idea on how the ball’s going to react in the air and on the green that’s our top Tracer technology presented by Progressive Insurance and Megan Kang the Tracer told the story here’s Rose to tie the tournament record and not a huge amount in this uphill oh yeah it’s her low now in her year on the LPGA Tour a 63 oh what a round of golf and that club in her hands 25 putts today wow I mean just truly spectacular the 18th just a moment ago ataya titun also has a 63 here at up for Montclair what a tough day today for a player who’s trying to get back in the groove after missing time with an injury yeah been struggling with her thumb and forced to actually even change her grip

  1. So I had this round set to record on my dvr and couldn't watch live because I had to get up early the following day.

Watching it now and pretty upset.

It's bad enough golf Channel only shows 2 hours of every round, but this first round didn't even start until the hour and 15min mark.

So they only show 45 minutes of this first round.

It's been clear for a very long time now that golf Channel doesn't think much of the LPGA but this is really terrible. What makes it worse is the fact that when they DID show the first round it was already a replay of what happened. They instead chose to use the first hour and 15 minutes to show Golf Central.

Gold Channel would never do this for any PGA round.

The LPGA needs to find a new home to broadcast their games because golf Channel isn't it.

Objectively, when they DO show the LPGA rounds, it's great! Great camera work, great announcing.

It's just tiring being an LPGA fan and the Channel that shows the games clearly doesn't care at all about it. It's fairly obvious.

    Step it up Golf Channel.
