[Music] welcome to the men’s college gymnastics championship and a great crowd here inside the Kelli Center on the campus of the Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio so glad to join you for our featured whip around coverage I’m Alex Pearlman and we’ll be taking you through all six rotations as we Crown a national champion here in college men’s gymnastics well when you look at the field it is absolutely stacked it is the top six ranked teams in the entire country and here is what they are competing for that huge trophy in the center will also be awarding the individual winners on each event as well as the allaround but Oklahoma dominating in terms of titles this is where everyone stands coming into this compet I who are competing Oklahoma and then it’s actually Illinois who is number two followed by Nebraska with eight Stanford Michigan with six AP piece it’s the Cardinal going for the five Pete they have won four in a row starting back in 2019 before that it was Oklahoma who had won four straight ending that run in 2018 and then Michigan has not won since 2014 when they won back to back they’re looking for their first since then so in 10 years and then Ohio State who the host just barely snuck in yesterday they needed a huge vault in that final rotation and they did speaking of the Buckey coming in as the number six ranked team in the country with a national qualifying average of 46. 413 they had a very strong day but did just barely get in edged out Penn State in semifinal number two but it was a strong showing for the buck guys and a chance for R sharov’s team to come in and potentially pull the upset Illinois in terms of the scores from yesterday finishing at fifth 410 Point 461 the fighting a line I the 10 time NCA Champions they’re looking for their first since 2012 they had eight before 1960 but finishing with a very strong 410 Point 461 then Nebraska who actually in terms of the national rankings is below Illinois but they finished a little bit higher with that 413 Point 523 Nebraska under Chuck jamela now in his 15th season was excellent yesterday led by tayor christopolis with his six time All-American honors Stanford though going for that five Pete they have some athletes to really Circle Coy young Asher Hong Colt Walker the niss and Emery Award winner this year the only unanimous finalist of the 133 there he is he got it done was chosen as the top men’s senior gymnast in the country and now the favorite once again Michigan they in terms of the scoring for yesterday actually had the highest score but they had a one-point deduction in terms of going out of order they would have had the highest qualifying score and chosen how they wanted to go through in Olympic order it is Oklahoma who had the highest qualifying score coming in you see that 48.97 just 3,000 of attempt higher than Michigan but the sooner is the number two team in the country led by fuzzy Bennis who’s the CGA MVP of the year they also have the specialist of the year in Emy do Danley and that is a team that is Reckoning for a potential National Championship would be their 13th the most ever so this is our wh around coverage but as you can see every single event is covered if you want to follow your team if you go to ncaa.com we have an individual feed for every single rotation floor horse Rings Vault parallel bars and high bar on the bottom right of your screen and we are just about set here to get our action underway for the 2024 NCAA men’s gymnastics [Applause] Championship so there are individual qualifiers as well as the six teams that all competed yesterday trying to get in Ken fortunately did not make it as a team but they did make it as individuals there are a lot of individual gymnasts who are going to be performing for the Cal Bears and one of those is Theodore gude Noah newfeld as well for Cal who you just saw and there for Navy getting set as well we will see if Matthew Petros is able to put up a big score he had a 13.83 three in yesterday’s action on parallel bars [Applause] so Petro important you have to hold those [Music] handstands there is a deduction on bars also hands can’t move parallel bar is one of the lower scoring events so keep in mind as we continue on that if a team hasn’t yet hit let’s say an event like vault which is the highest scoring potential then that’s going to affect obviously how each team stands and proos finishes up a little bit of a step there on the Dismount that’ll be at least a on- tenen deduction and here is Josh KS senior national team member Penn State barely edged out by Ohio State in yesterday’s action and he though qualified as an all-arounder 83.5 31 a very good score and he will be ALS so competing of course for a spot coming up in Paris in the Summer Olympics but he is going to start his allaround day on [Applause] [Music] [Applause] floor KS with a slight hop [Applause] there and there he goes sticking that perfect ly to be able to click your feet together cors with a very strong routine here so far on floor 13733 yesterday as he slows it down and now gets ready for another pass [Applause] I know he was hoping for a potential national championship for his Penn State nitty Lions after hosting last year but that’s a strong floor routine and a good way for him to start of course he can win a National Championship in his own right so here’s Noah newfeld who we saw warming up for Cal but he’ll get an opportunity as our first vter today with a 14.0 yesterday oh right in the middle perfect stick absolutely no deductions there on that Landing Vault a lot of it of course does come from those steps and he’s going to be very happy with that score I feel like and now here is Michigan on pommel horse they start off with Zach granados the Wolverines a national qualifying average nqa of four 14. 038 coming in under Yuan Shon his third season who won Big 10 coach of the year for the third straight year but we are very excited to be able to see Fred Richard the Big 10 gymnast of the Year another strong Contender to represent the USA coming up in Paris there’s a good start on palel horse this is exactly Shia who gives congratulations to Zach rados this is a five up five count event of course in the national championship so there is no room for error you cannot drop any scores Michael Arlin he’s going to be on high bar for Penn State competing in the allaround and 80. 297 behind his teammate Josh KS iar traditionally one of the lower scoring events you’re going to look for straight arms on these Giants as well as on the releases when he gets back on the bar nice toach there and you have to finish all of these in handstand all those moves finish in handstand on the high ball or else you’re going to see deductions taken there as well [Applause] back into the Dismount just a little bit of a hop forward 10th a deduction for each step that these gymnasts are taking but again strong options for Penn State individually and here here is Illinois to begin so Illinois is on [Applause] [Music] rings Ryan vanish thar not who is an All-American on horizontal bar he is going to get Illinois going on rings though you have to hold each of these parts of the routine these strength parts for two seconds on rings for Illinois yesterday is 67.1 99 which actually between all of these teams ranked fairly on the low side for that but a nice Dismount absolutely stuck good beginning for Illinois it would certainly be an upset if the fighting Ali are able to get a national championship in Daniel robo’s second year and here’s our first look at Stanford the four-time defending national champion and the Nissen Emory Award winner going to the top senior gymnast in the country it is Colt Walker you see him in the all-around is well competed in the mpsf championships as well in the allaround but finished second to his teammate KY young he won it with a massive 86.3 [Music] five Stanford starts on vault big hop forward there for Walker I think he’s going to be a little bit disappointed probably going to be 3/10 there on that deduction oneth for every step forward and then certainly that is going to be a big one as well there with the two going forward Asher Cohen now for [Applause] Nebraska Corn Huskers rank number five in the country 8 NCAA championships for them they finished second in the afternoon session behind Stanford but they were able to upset fourth ranked Illinois so there is no question that that was a highlight for them being able to come in and get that big score and put themselves in a good spot to potentially upset everyone and get a national championship for themselves [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] a big hop forward and his chest was down as well that’s going to be a pretty heavy deduction there on that Landing but for Nebraska so far Cole Partridge with a 13.6 and James fredman with a 13.4 at the moment there’s head coach Chuck jamela as he gets set for the next competitor here for Nebraska and Sam Phillips who is the fourth to go and fuzzy Bennis now the CGA gymnast MVP the flag go up it looked like his foot might have been out that could be a tenth of a deduction at least Ben is just able to land that though he’s got all the accolades he’s a member of the senior US national team finished sixth in the all-around at winter cup was third at the mpsf Championships we mentioned the two Stanford gymnasts were the top [Music] two definitely took you foot was absolutely out there for Bennis at least one we have to see if it ends up being anymore so far 13266 for Jack Freeman and Brigham FR away for Oklahoma with a 13.96% [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] two time defending mpsf gymnast of the year starts off his competition with just a one step backwards there on his vault Landing so that is pretty solid that happening already just a moment ago as we wait on his score here’s Fred Richard he’s the favorite certainly for the all-around Championship the reigning national champ in the allaround and also on high bar and on parallel bars the Big 10 gimness of the Year Michigan at the moment on pommel horse good scores nothing below a 13733 from Kyle walchuk granad with a 13866 and then Kevin sha put in a 13.9 work this is a pressure-packed meet no question there’s so much going on it’s a frenetic meat to be a part of as the green flag goes up Fred Richard ready to mount the pommel horse but if anybody can tame these emotions these nerves Fred Richard would absolutely be towards the top of this list now watch to make sure not hitting the horse that’s a on10th deduction keeping his hips completely straight and keeping his legs glued together have to be like super [Applause] glue right here nice form just takes so much strength and concentration ation as he gets set to Dismount and sticks it and now for Stanford here’s Koy young he sets it to feet clicks his heels together in a great start for Stanford on vault they’ve gone 14.3 Asher Hong score comes into at a 15.26% one more gymnast to go every score counts in this meet and that is exactly what they were looking for to begin you start on vault you have to put the pressure on because that’s going to be your best chance to put up a huge rotation score here’s a six-time All-American Taylor christopoulos at Big 10s he was the runner up to Fred Richard in the allaround but absolutely capable of winning a national championship trip in that but also some individual ones as well he’s an allamerican on floor and Vault but here he starts on parallel bars for [Music] [Applause] Nebraska this is always going to be scored just a little bit [Music] [Applause] [Music] lower not in terms of a vault obviously in terms of your lowest scoring events rings and high bar so keep in mind that these teams that are on their high scoring events like this they need to take advantage christopoulos with a slight hop forward chest down a little bit you can tell a little bit ejected there as the judges come together and try to find a score Phillips has the lowest at the moment for Nebraska with at 12.8 highest is 13.6 for Cole Partridge and then the other two are right in between Ashton Anda now salutes for Illinois and he starts on rings what a highlight this is to see Ashton denaya the defending NCAA champion in this discipline he was beat out in session one by Stanford’s Asher Hong and I would imagine that gave him even a little bit more fuel to the fire not like he really needs it anayia knows what he’s capable [Applause] of feet glued together giv it everything he [Applause] has apologize for a little bit of technical difficulties as we get you back to the action Michigan looking on trying for their first national championship since 2014 when they won back to back they’ve got a great opportunity as Tate Costa readyy he is the final competitor for Illinois on rings but his score is not going to count towards the overall score what he is competing in in the [Music] allaround you’re allowed to compete in allaround and then not have your score on a few disciplines count towards your team score but it does count towards your individual all-around score of course so we wait for one more to come in that score from the anchor [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] annia Costa won the all-around yesterday with a career high 81. n99 but he qualified easily into the all-around competition so did his team into the national final that’s a very solid routine so now we go to highbar this is where Ohio State is getting its day going this is Cameron Nelson and just like Costa competing in the allaround but Nelson score is not going to count to the team score on high bar that is in finished a 65698 the highest score was Kaden Spencer’s 13.7 lowest to 12.56 six from Jacob Harden I State certainly a bit of a surprise if they were able to compete for a national championship doesn’t mean it can’t happen Cameron Nelson’s first event done and over with and the Ohio State faithful here inside the Celli Center great crowd I know they were definitely sweating it out towards the end needed a big vault in order to qualify for the national final but we’re able to and so one rotation down five okahoma [Music] Theus we are through one rotation back here at the cavelli center and just look at the bottom of your screen look at all those trophies that is what is up for grabs here after one rotation Stanford with a command lead though again they started on vault but did they do better than their average well they’re the number five Vault team in the country 71.9 their average yes they exceeded that so that’s exactly what the Cardinal were looking for as they are again trying to become the second team to five Pete followed by Oklahoma and then Michigan Illinois Ohio State and Nebraska in fifth at the moment but Nebraska was on parallel bars certainly we’re looking for a little bit more from them for that first rotation but plenty of time plenty of routines still to come Alex prman back with you in Columbus Ohio the men’s gymnastics National Championship the Cardinal have won four in a row six overall but this is going to be anyone’s competition between a few of these teams Stanford Oklahoma Michigan are really all right on par with who is the best in the country there is no one clear favorite even though Stanford is W four in a row and then Illinois Nebraska and Ohio State are going to have something to say when it is all said and done as well so we’re going to go over to rotation number two where Ohio state will be on the floor Oklahoma to the pommel horse the Rings where Michigan will start vault is where Illinois will try to put up a big score headlined by the anchor Amari Su and then it’s going to be parallel bars for Stanford and high bar for Nebraska here’s Patrick Hoops though national team member and one of the best in the pommel horse in the entire country he put up a huge score yesterday 15266 and if you’re a young gymnast and you want to learn how it’s done in this discipline look no further than Patrick [Applause] Hoops Hoops representing Air Force individually Falcons didn’t make it as a team but he’s got a great chance for a national championship on pommel horse glued together putting on a clinic with the handstand and he finishes off a very strong routine great showing right there for Patrick [Music] hoops and now Darren Wong to parallel bars for [Applause] [Music] Cal Wong will be competing along with his teammate Noah newfeld for a potential individual National Championship here on parallel bars as well as Tyler [Applause] Shimizu w at a 13.8 on parallel bars yesterday to qualify individually into the national [Applause] final and such control there of his handstand when you’re up in handstand those hands need to be glued to the bars and they certainly are he adjust slightly going into the next [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] move and a step back on the Dismount going to be a 10th deduction there for the [Music] [Applause] judges but a good routine and here’s Josh KS competing individually in the allaround for Penn [Applause] [Music] State K on pomel horse at a 13o [Applause] 633 so impressive these all-arounders Adept at all six rotations of course they have their strengths and their weaknesses but I mean it’s a true feat of strength and technique to be able to call yourself a national champion in the allaround that’s what Fred Richard did for Michigan last year K’s happy with that one not surprising either KS with a 14066 to start off for his day on [Applause] floor and now C on [Music] vault Theodore gadu and then Illinois will compete couple of hops with stayed in bounds who have to stay in those lines those lines on the left and right one down the middle for the judges see exactly how centered you are pretty solid though routine there good Vault by gude now here’s Justin Sone Ohio State here in rotation number two is on floor [Applause] [Music] Ohio State in fifth after one rotation as they competed on high bar one of the lower scoring events Zone absolutely the hero for Ohio State yesterday he’s an all American on vault they needed him to hit in order to take down Penn State and he did just that with a 14.26 six but now here he is on floor and down he goes that is a full point deduction after taking a big hop on that first one remember there is no dropping a score it’s five up five count so mistakes are going to decide who the national champion is and Ohio State coming in they know with their scoring average this year they cannot afford any mistakes and there were two big ones really three when you talk about that last pass as well for a but always helps to compete on your home [Applause] floor you would think though with all six of these teams competing yesterday too a chance to adjust a little bit better to the situation with it being on Podium sometimes a little bit bouncer a little springier little too much there and Zone finishes off his floor routine the leadoff for Ohio State but he has put his Buckey in a little bit of a hole here’s Taylor burkart we haven’t seen him yet the Junior three-time allamerican on vault as well as high bar but Stanford will be on the parallel bars [Applause] now he’s the leadoff Burkhart Walker McFarland young and Hong what a strong parallel bars rotation that is the number one team in the country with a national qualifying average of [Music] 69.7 Michigan second in the country 3/10 lower [Music] [Applause] burkart sets the tone for Stanford looking for their fifth straight national championship he leads off in four different events that’s a solid start he’ll hand it off to Colt Walker Conor mcul who’s terrific on floor but a good falter too very clearly just a little bit of a hop forward but well executed in the air good lines kept his feet together and Michigan goes to Rings Chris [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Reed Ric pory with a 13866 right before him [Applause] Illinois the only team to finish a rotation on rings and they add a s 67 Point 165 [Applause] [Music] so Reed following a Puri and now here is Colt Walker back on parallel [Music] [Applause] bars Walker the top senior gymnast in the country the coveted niss and Emy Award winner and he was the favorite let’s be honest coming in the only unanimous finalist but Walker looking for an individual all-around Championship himself 14.5 for him on vault to start off good good strong beginning for the [Music] [Applause] senior in control perfect handstands followed by [Applause] another took a big hop back though on that Landing where so many of the deductions are going to come in fuzzy Bennis also looking for an all-around win 13766 was his score on floor Patrick Hoops leading the way on pomel horse with a 15.3 which was even better than his score from yesterday so he is going to have a strong chance to win a National Championship with that score that is absolutely [Applause] huge Oklahoma looking to make up some ground here on pommel horse they’re the second best pommel horse team in the country with an nqa of 6965 Bennis loves it not only trying to get his team going but everybody that followed them from Norman as well so now for Michigan Javier Alonso on rings they have scores of 13.5 coming in from Chris Reed just a moment ago and then a 13866 in the leadoff from pory Michigan ranked second on still Rings this year head coach Yuan sha said that his team has one goal this year and only one goal win a National Championship there is no Al alternative second third doesn’t matter Wolverines haven’t brought one home since 2014 which is clearly very surprising for a wolverine program that has six perfect what a gorgeous Dismount there on rings absolutely nailed I would say that he is a little bit fired up that was a really excellent job by Javi Co young now for Stanford he follows up walkers 14.46 six on parallel [Applause] bars Stanford sitting in second after one [Applause] rotation koi one of bronze with the us at Worlds last year and really had a great start to his competition yesterday they competed in the afternoon session and won the afternoon session Stanford with a score of 47. [Music] 389 and Koy with mid4 scores in three of his four events last night [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] but there is no tomorrow for Koy young or anybody else for that matter this is it final meet of the year you don’t hold anything back had a 15133 in his first event of the day on vault and backing it up with a very strong parallel bars routine Coy young now a junior the all-around champion in the mpsf championships with an 8635 and here’s ignasio yakers he is amazing on pomor an All-American there both years so far in Oklahoma Justus as sophomore he is somebody to watch out for the two-time mpsf specialist of the Year oh no oh [Applause] no yers is going to get some words from his head coach Mark Williams and then head back on the horse and that is going to be a real problem for Oklahoma they’re looking for their first championship since 2018 and there is the first major mistake for one of the contenders [Applause] so far for Oklahoma scores of 13.6 are better highlighted by Zack nunes’s 14.06 six that is shocking for somebody who is so good in this discipline [Applause] [Music] pressure or just didn’t get the hold he wanted but he’s going to be very disappointed there Fred Richards now on the Rings as he takes his spot assistant coach giving him the lift and he’s ready to go Fred competing in his second event so far a 14.2 on pomel hor which is a very strong score Michigan on rings has a low score of 13.5 from Chris Reed this is the final score coming in on Rings the high of 14.333 by Alfonso and really for Richard terms of winning an all round it’s all going to come down to the lands so technically sound in every event and there is the stick yes [Applause] [Music] sir and especially after that fall from Osio yakers that is something Michigan can really take advantage of and so can Stanford Asher now on parallel bars he had the highest first session score on both parallel bars and on rings Stanford at a 14.9 from KY [Music] young this could be even better [Applause] can he possibly break into the 15s after he absolutely sticks that Landing just waiting on his score to come in but Hong is going to be very happy with that it is a 15.1 that’s the highest score that we have seen on parallel bars so far and an excellent way for Stanford e to finish off their rotation with a 72199 and remember this is the best parallel bars team in the country and now on vault and on parallel bars they have exceeded their nqa and that is exactly what Tom glam’s crew needs to do in order to capture their fifth straight national championship two rotations are down [Music] [Applause] after two rotations Stanford who has competed on vaults and parallel bars but crushed both rotations they have a lead of almost seven points over Illinois and Oklahoma you can see Michigan Nebraska and Ohio State follow there but this is a real chance for the Wolverines to catch up in a big way because they head to Vault the highest scoring discipline and they are going to have a great chance to get right back in this competition and this is a great Michigan vating team as well fourth in the country so we will see here in rotation number three on floor it’s going to be Nebraska pble horse where Ohio state will compete rings for Oklahoma Vault we mentioned for Michigan they will be anchored by Paul Judah who is quite possibly one of the best volters in the world not only in the country or in college gymnastics Illinois heads to parallel bars and the high bar is where Stanford will go so Stanford is going in terms of scoring potential to drop down a little bit but again it’s all relative it’s all how can you compete on each discipline compared to the other teams and how do you do it compared to other teams in the country well Stanford’s only the sixth best team in terms of the high bar in the NCAA so this is a great opportunity now coming up for Michigan [Applause] Oklahoma really took a a setback though because of ignasio yaker score it was not what they wanted on pommel but they are still certainly in the competition Anything Can Happen 6.7 points behind [Applause] goldby Prince for [Applause] [Applause] Navy Prince starts out here on floor in the third rotation and 13.7 as an individual qualifier in yesterday’s action Navy didn’t get in as a team and he gets a chance to compete for a national champ Championship as [Applause] well going into his more artistic [Applause] element showing that finesse that technique strength as he heads to his next pass parallel from pH twist lands that perfectly just a slight step back there on his final tumbling pass so a slight deduction there on the [Applause] landing and so now on vault Landon Simpson for Penn State competing as an [Music] individual oh goes down one point deduction there plus the steps a little bit disappointing because again not competing for a team [Applause] championship but he’ll get a high five from Eric Upton who is about to Vault for Air Force Josh KS [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and so here in the third rotation KS moves over to rings with a 13.4 six6 yesterday K’s a strong Contender for an allaround Championship currently sitting in fourth 27799 just about three points behind KY young it’s exactly who you would expect to see in the top five with young Walker then Fred Richard KS and fuzzy Bennis [Applause] [Music] [Applause] K so far has comp competed on floor and on horse best ring score of the night at the moment is to Fred Richard with that 14.4 three of the top four scores at the moment on rings belonging to Michigan Ashton and Nia had a strong showing too of 14.1 166 and remember of course the biggest problem what everyone is competing for out of these six teams is to win it with everybody else that you came with Team Championship is number one for these coaches but for the individual gymnast too even if they don’t win a National Championship as a team they will have a chance to win on each event and in the allaround Eric Upton holds it stayed in bounds and there’s some of his teammates sticking around nice high five from the Michigan coaching staff too Yan sha showing some great sportsmanship there Upton with a strong Vault and so now Ohio State after the individuals will begin up [Applause] Nebraska currently sitting in sixth with some work to do here on pomel horse Christian grovy leads off for Ohio [Applause] State is anybody going to touch Patrick Hoops 15.3 though that’s the big question I don’t think so I mean second to that at the moment is Payton Kramer’s 14.4 competing as an individual from Springfield [Applause] and so kovski finishes off in the leadoff here for Ohio [Applause] State and so now we go to [Music] Illinois so Garrett shully is going to get them started on parallel bars already Danilo V visana for Navy has gone as well as Theodore gatero for California it’ll be shulie petan Costa Hawk and Fletcher the five competing for Illinois Costa in the allaround his score will count here for Illinois on parallel [Music] bars here’s shuling Illinois ranked fourth in the country on parallel bars this year with an nqa of [Applause] 68275 all of these elements have to finish off in that handstand judges want to see a lot of control as well as no movement on the hands when the gymnasts are inhanced [Applause] [Music] as well as of course stuck Dismounts stuck Dismounts always you can kind of take that one to the bank so let’s see Stanford on high bar with Taylor Burkhart Colt Walker will follow and then Coy young Brandon win and Jeremy Bishoff this is an excellent High bar team not one of the better ones though in terms of the rankings in the country the number one is [Applause] Oklahoma Oklahoma is going to finish on high bar they had the highest qualifying score yesterday so they got to choose which order they wanted to go in and not surprisingly Mark Williams deci decided to go in Olympic order it’ll finish on Hyo just the Dismount now and Burkhart puts it to feet but does take that step forward his coaching staff pretty fired up there as they change the tension over for Colt Walker here can Michigan make up some ground that’s a big question coming into Vault David walma has already LED off the Wolverines with a four [Music] .533 and now Chris Reed Reed at a 13.5 on rings that was the lowest score on rings for the Wolverines can he bounce back here on vault you’re looking for that mid4 score for a champion on vault anything in the 15s will really put pressure on the opposition and Reed can’t put it down steps out of bounds it’s going to be a big deduction on that Landing he was just under rotated there but you saw him step out of bounds so that’s 3/10 and then an extra 10th for each foot so wait on the score coming in on vault for Michigan and Chris Reed Nebraska Chase so here is Nebraska on floor with Chase [Music] M third gymnast to go for the Huskers on floor Toby leang and Luke James have also competed already with a 14 .1 for James and a 13333 for leang on floor Nebraska the second ranked floor team in the country this is one of their best disciplines and somewhere maybe they could take advantage really good on high bar as well they already went on high bar with a 68.1 166 which is just below their season average a strong program and a proud program as well that has eight NCAA championships but all of them coming between 1979 and 1994 looking to break a 30-year drought here tonight in Columbus [Applause] Ohio just barely held on to that one but a good way to finish and so Oklahoma back to Rings fuzzy [Applause] Bennis Bennis was fifth in the allaround coming into this [Applause] rotation you’re looking for a score on rings anything in the 14s is excellent so far there’s only been 34 plus scores coming in [Applause] the top two scores to Michigan right [Applause] now Oklahoma on rings with a pair of 13.23 Threes from Daniel Simmons and Matthew broy [Applause] W that can’t be done much better on the Dismount venish knows it as he’s trying for an all-around win himself of course wants to get the Sooners there as well here’s Sam Phillips so back to Nebraska Phillips was a niss and Emery award finalist missed all of last year with an injury but he was an All-American on floor as well as TI bar in 2022 this is a real highlight here tonight Sam Phillips on [Applause] [Music] [Applause] floor massive first pass for Phillips who was an All-American in the regular season on floor and all around this season as well Phillips has so much power massive tumbling wow put it straight down velcro against the floor [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] there about as good as it gets right here this is going to be a big score if he can land these one more pass to come and Phillips is going to have a chance at a potential floor National Championship wow beautiful but can he finish it off and you know that’s what he’s thinking at the moment as well he knows it’s so close put it down huge oh that’s perfect there’s no such thing as perfection in gymnastics but he knows just how good that was leaping into the arms of his coaches that was awesome that’s going to be the best floor score coming in so far for Nebraska it was Luke James 14.1 Fred Richards now on vault took a step you see the yellow flag go up he’s going to be disappointed as he goes out of bounds the reigning National all-around Champion trying to repeat but he’s capable of a really big Vault score and he’s not going to get it right there back to Oklahoma Zachary Mark s this is TSH [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hau The Freshman has been excellent this year stepping right into a significant role for the number two team in the country so far looking for the potential first 140 score for Oklahoma on rings fuzzy Bennis had a good one but [Applause] and he puts that down no steps on the Dismount this is why he came to the Sooners to compete for a national championship at the highest level and that is exactly what Oklahoma needed back to parallel bars Michael Fletcher for [Music] Illinois so far they’ve had to count will Hawks 12 12.4 five up five count no mistakes allowed as Fletcher finishes off the fighting Aline eye on parallel [Music] bars no real way to say it this has been a bit of a disappointing rotation for them so far finished nicely though just that small step just a 10th but they’re capable of going into the 68 even approaching 70 and not going to do that here on bars here’s Paul Judah for Michigan one of the best volters in the world of 14.8 yesterday and the reigning n Emory Award winner from last season despite missing all of that year with an injury oh oh that could be your national champion on vault right there what a statement as Paul Juda comes back battled back after missing 2023 and he just sticks that Vault down to the floor that’s going to be the best score on vault so far it was [Applause] now to high bar Stanford’s Jeremy [Applause] Bishop their final score everything between a 13.26 six and a 13.6 excellent release move there this competition is really starting to heat up now lead out to kive well executed backto back [Applause] [Music] [Applause] can he [Applause] stick no he was fighting for it Bishoff almost had it too but was just leaned a little bit too forward had to take a slight hop forward and that will end Stanford’s High bar rotation and so looking a little bit more human there on high bar below their season average and maybe that is going to let the other teams back into this meet we’re halfway home here inside the coelli center and still Stanford Michigan Oaklahoma Illinois all at the top of the standings per one categories this includes foring entry also known as super also known asol a we move to the fourth rotation here in Columbus Ohio Alex Perman back with you our score after three halfway home Stanford holding on to the lead though it’s been cut into by Michigan after a solid Vault rotation can see it’s just about two points but that is easy to make up especially with Michigan heading to parallel bars a chance to put up a very good score Then followed by Illinois and Oklahoma with Nebraskan and Ohio State at five and six at the moment after three [Applause] rotations Stanford in the last one as now they are going to head to floor After High bar putting together a 6 6765 has just let the other teams into it just a little bit more curry but still for the Cardinal they have floor horse rings to come so this is probably their best chance to really put together a high event because pomel horse and Rings certainly are not one of the higher scoring events since so in the allaround Koy young still on top you can see he’s up by half a point on Fred Richard Colt Walker vissa memory Award winner from Stanford is right there as well though also fourth Paul Judah fuzzy Bennis is in fifth those are really the five that are in the best running at the moment though of course A lot can change every score counts every routine [Applause] counts and so it’s a lot still to be decided very clearly Oliver zal here for Air Force One of the individual qualifiers on parallel bars at a 13533 yesterday [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] judges looking for that control on the handstands and all the way from one end to the other fighting for that one he does hang [Applause] [Music] on wasn’t quite all the way up on that one but was able able to put it down good Dismount and he is happy with that effort for [Applause] [Music] sure Michael artlip for Penn State who is competing in the all-around as an individual currently sitting in eighth with a score of 40. 399 and artlip is going to be on rings along with his teammate Matthew [Applause] Underhill these individuals will compete two per rotation on each event and then we will get the teams back underway [Applause] the score to beat at the moment on rings is a 14.4 from Fred Richard for Michigan that would certainly be adding a strong piece to his Hardware he already has a couple of champ national championships one of the allaround and one on high bar and on parallel bars but if he added Rings he’d have half of them just halfway through his career not too bad art lip on rings qualified with a 12.73% [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] KS on VTA at a 14.4 and so far 12th but K’s a member of the US men’s senior national team he is going to compete for a chance to go to Paris with Team USA once this Collegiate season is over you know he is going to be right there in the running K sticks it but he was off you could tell his foot his right foot out of [Applause] bounds so that’s going to be a 310th deduction he was just off center he he didn’t Vault straight down the midd he vaulted a little bit to the right off of the horse and because of that it was enough to put a foot out of bounds and so now on rings for Ohio State that is where they will head Arthur Ashton leads [Applause] off Oklahoma will be on vault Michigan to parallel bars highbar Illinois Flor Stanford and Nebraska will be on the palor Ohio State after three rotations so far today he sitting sixth out of six so they have a lot of work to make [Applause] [Music] [Applause] up Ohio State finishing fourth at Big 10 championships there’s a step but just one for the Buckeye leid off man and now we go to High bar with Illinois and so Illinois starts on high [Applause] bar by [Applause] petan going to get them right back in the [Applause] mix just the Finish yes holds it for the judges there can be Absolut absolutely no doubt about it and that is the way that Illinois wanted to start on vault no question rather on a high bar and so now Stanford heads to floor Taylor Burkhart Taylor Burkhart Colt Walker Coy [Applause] young Ken Orion Jay Spencer and then Jeremy Bishoff [Applause] Stanford on floor is the number three ranked team in the country they have an nqa of 69.4 you would say kind of underperformed yesterday on floor just a [Applause] [Music] [Applause] 67.99 but Stanford did have the lead and we are still waiting for Burkhart to be able to go he’s just trying to stay loose stay [Applause] active calm his nerves down cuz he’s certainly not used to that usually you get ready to head out there on the floor you get the green flag and then you go to work and now now he does burkart starts off with the first pass just little hop [Applause] forward that was perfectly stuck Illinois burkart competing on every event except for pomel horse so we will not see him in the next rotation here for [Music] Stanford but he will be on bars rather uh on rings in rotation number six where the Cardinal will potentially look for another National Championship to add to their trophy case it’s a different situation though than Oklahoma had at mpsf championships or Stanford that is because they were able to win their third straight Conference Championship with a season I 4 22.7 they ended up knocking off Oklahoma by more than four points but it was actually the Sooners that were ahead after four rotations and Stanford closed it out with season ey scores on pomel horse and on still [Applause] rings and so Michigan parallel bars already has a 14.33 from Logan mcam and mny simuk with a [Applause] 14433 crew bolts the Big 10 parallel bars Champion his season eyes are 14.95 he could very easily win a National Championship on this event the score to beat though is massive in Asher hongs [Applause] 15.1 he knows he needs to put a big one together and he puts it down just what Michigan needed Flores beautiful Nebraska trying to stay in it Oklahoma tried to win it and that is exactly what they needed from Flores he was leading off on vault there for the Sooners and here’s Colt Walker Walker on floor so far for Stanford on floor they do have that scoring from Taylor burhart of a 13966 big bump forward there for Walker who was number three in the allaround coming into this rotation just the fourth of six lot of gymnastics left to go sort of held on to that one I don’t think the judges are going to like that too much though they’ll like that a lot more as he clicks his heals together just a couple more passes still to [Applause] [Music] come the Artistry there with a full split [Music] into the well executed [Applause] handstand Walker already has the Accolade that every College gymnast dreams of but as a senior can he add his fourth National Championship to the tally Paul Judah hoping for his [Applause] [Music] first crew bold score in at 14.56% [Applause] take your time take your time you know that Judah after missing all of last year with an injury has had the national championship circled for a long time sure the bronze at Worlds was great something different about competing in a national championship though in college with your team oh that’s a big hop forward though for Judah he’s happy with it and so now back to Stanford on [Music] floor Colt Walker score was a 14.03 three in the number two spot Coy young will try to better that he was also part of that bronze team for the us at Worlds last [Applause] year this is the allaround and Vault champion from the npsf Championships also won the Vault and parallel bars so to say he had a good good meet kind of an understatement at nsfs and they ended Oklahoma’s absurd streak inside mcaslan Fieldhouse their winning streak coming in was 64 consecutive meets and Stanford ended that it was 17 years they hadn’t lost inside that building and now in the most important meet of the Year try to follow that up with a first place finish Richard closes out parallel bars for Michigan the score to beat still is a 15.1 from Asher Hong crew bolds was a 14.56% [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] that we have seen here from Fred Richard competing for an all-around Championship trying to finish strong as he holds the [Applause] [Music] handstand and Michigan tries for their first national title since 2014 just a step step [Applause] back and Richard closes out Michigan there on parallel bars back to fuzzy Bennis on vault for Oklahoma got it down the highest score right now on vault is Asher Hun’s 15.26% [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Oklahoma had a good Vault rotation their lowest score of 14566 from Flores back to Illinois on high bar [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Tate Costa finishes off with a [Applause] stick Illinois with scores between 13.3 and 13.6 so [Applause] far and just a small L forward there for Oklahoma’s Emy do Danley the CGA specialist of the year and just max bzv to come on vault for the Sooners as they look to supplant Stanford a top the standings after four rotations still parallel bars and high bar to come so another high scoring event in parallel bars and a lower scoring event on high bars Jeremy bishof now on floor for Stanford their scores at the moment 13.96% [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] closer to the finish with a national title on the [Applause] line this is really good from [Applause] bishof he can start to feel it now Taylor christopoulos has the highest score for Nebraska with a 14.5 on floor do better than that and bishof has pretty solid chance to earn himself a national title the anchor for Stanford finished seventh in the allaround at winter cup as he finishes out his floor routine [Applause] so close just on the final pass if he had stuck that would have been even higher but that’s a really good routine Max beresna finishes off Oklahoma on [Applause] vault with a stick his entire coaching staff absolutely fired up after that high fives all [Applause] around well-deserved celebration no doubt nice Vault rotation here for Oklahoma nothing below a 14.56% [Applause] and of course what bzv puts down sooner faithful showing their love to Oklahoma did they do enough to pull into the lead with a big Vault rotation we’ll find out when we come back [Music] just two more rotations left inside the Kelli Center we’re getting closer and closer to crowning a national men’s gymnastics Champion Stanford holding on to the lead but look what Michigan did last rotation they went to parallel bars put together a strong event and so it is much much Slimmer and Oklahoma who destroyed vaults with a huge score I mean exactly what they needed to do they needed to put up a huge 73.5 32 what they did and they are right back in the mix so just as expected with two more rotations left to go it is between the top three teams in the country stand Michigan and Oklahoma for the championship but it’s going to be pomel horse in rings coming up for the Cardinal so that’s something to watch those are two lower scoring events in terms of the allaround well that has been an awesome competition the entire night and it is turning into really a Twan race at this point Coy young and Fred Richard Co young with a 57.5 N9 Fred Richard with a 57.06 6 Isaiah Drake for Navy is going to begin on rings as our fourth or fifth rotation gets underway here on the campus of the Ohio State [Applause] University not only awarding team championship but we are awarding indiv idual championships for each event as well as the [Applause] allaround so all these individual qualifiers still have a chance to take home a [Applause] trophy this is really strong here from Drake score to beat on rings has a 14.4 still from Fred Richard no problems on the [Music] [Applause] Dismount so far it’s a smattering of different schools for the individual events Asher Hong leading right now in Vault and parallel bars but Tate cost on horizontal bar Patrick Hoops on pble horse from Air Force michig against Fred Richard on rings and Nebraska’s tillay christopoulos on floor let’s go to Owen Corney on vault here for Springfield had a great Vault to qualify here individually the 14.43% [Applause] still got a chance to represent his school here at men’s college gymnastics biggest [Applause] event and we wait for Noah newfeld to be able to start his routine on pomel horse in a 13.46% from California Berkeley [Applause] Tyler again the top score on pommel horse is just about unbeatable by anybody not named Patrick Hoops who put together a 15.3 routine we go how good is that Payton Kramer in second for Springfield was 9/10 below almost a full point at a [Music] [Applause] 14.4 but nicely done maybe more so then even nicely done that that might be selling a little bit short in the eyes of Noah newfeld Josh C’s coming in in fifth in the allaround with a 55.7 65 score after four [Applause] rotations nice meet for him as he heads to parallel bars will finish on the high bar rotating with Oklahoma that’s I guess a little bit of the advantage that you have is that you get to go in Olympic order both bars disciplines finish it [Applause] off but once he is done that’s when we will see Oklahoma on parallel bars and get the team competition back [Applause] underway really nice control [Applause] just a slight hop forward and to the left on his Dismount so in rotation number five Michael artlip on vault for Penn State and he’s competing in the all round as well held on to it nicely done artl finishing off his vault the way he wanted to and now team rotations back underway and we’ll reset you on where everybody is Illinois starts on floor Stanford is on pommel horse there’s Nebraska and James fredman the lead off on rings Ohio State to Vault it’ll be Oklahoma on parallel bars Michigan on the high [Applause] bar Stanford’s lead cut to less than a point by Michigan after four rotations so each team only with 10 scores left to put in to decide who is going to come away with college gymnastics biggest [Applause] prize the brasot Rings the third ranked team in the country just didn’t quite get it all the way around for fredman but a strong routine nonetheless as he’ll hand that one off to Travis Wong all right here’s Michigan Robert null starts followed byy simuk crew bold Paul Judah Fred [Applause] Richard and you almost wonder if not competing Fred Richard was totally the smart move he did not compete in the allaround and Yan wanted to make sure he was 100% fresh and ready to go in the team competition and of course for an individual all-around title as well and he’s closing in on a potential Rings individual [Applause] title just the dismount slight little hop back there for null solid lead off for [Applause] Michigan the highest SC so far on high bar is Tate Costa for Illinois with a 13.9 here’s Amari Su as Illinois gets their competition back underway on floor Su follow following up by Dylan Shepard Shepard score [Applause] 13.6 to the Big 10 Vault [Applause] Champion started his career at Iowa but transferred in after freshman year he’s competed Flor six times this year has a season high of 13.7 onoi not quite in the running for a national title at this point I’m sure they knew it would be climbing up Mount Everest to take down Stanford Oklahoma or Michigan but put together a really strong showing yesterday with a 410 461 they’ve gone as high this year as 41 16.15 but I think they knew that even that score is not going to be [Applause] enough yeah looking for the Heisman strong routine and welld deserved tie fives at that here is simuk simuk from Michigan was an n and Emery award finalist and so far on high bar the only score to come in at 13.3 66 from null in the Big 10 Championship with Michigan won their fourth straight with a score of 48.1 simuk had a team High 14.1 on high bar lead out to kachev caught it nicely want those arms to be completely extended ready on the giant gearing up for the Dismount small hop forward just a little bit low there for simuk the senior landed a little low in forward Asher Hong now on pommel horse for Stanford where they’ve scored backto back 14. 133s to start off like that is exact L what the Cardinal needed to hold on to this [Applause] Advantage hung at this point still has the highest score on both Vault and parallel bars what can he do here on pommel horse again the 15.3 from Patrick Hoops for Air Force is going to be hard to supplant but right now Hong and the Cardinal looking for their fifth straight national title man that’s good that is so so good a Pat in the back from Koy young he knows it but he’s not trying to give away too much so let’s go back to the parallel bars here for Oklahoma so far for Oklahoma on parallel bars a 13.4 and Tyler Flores with just a 12.63 three to lead them [Music] [Applause] [Music] off Nico Hamilton with fuzzy Bennis and emry the Don Ley still to come every single part of these routines becoming more and more crucial and you know that all of these jness can feel that pressure too Hamilton very excited with that one and he should be the mpsf Freshman of the Year man he had a great season [Applause] so back to Michigan on the high [Applause] bar Paul Judah [Applause] just the Dismount and stuck now that’s crew bold excellent [Applause] Dismount there’s Paul Judah getting ready to go as we wait on the score coming in and to pommel horse for Koy young Asher hung with a 14.06 six actually Kushner and McFarland to lead off on pomel did he even better Koy young and then just Jr CH still to come and then we only have one more rotation left you get two for the price of one here you can see Judah in the background too on high bar and he get some Illinois on floor [Applause] too and and now Coy young finishes off really really well there a moment AG go Oklahoma fuzzy [Applause] Bennis the US national team member finished sixth in the all around at winter cup Oklahoma needs to continue their strong parallel bars rotation Hamilton with a 13.23 three they’re hoping for a little bit more here towards the end if anybody can put up a big one though it is [Applause] Bennis this is the rotation though that potentially Stanford and Michigan can gain some ground ESP especially with Oklahoma having to end on high bar that’s good real good on the Dismount Dennis knew that’s what they needed and the sooner faithful responding no doubt Paul Judah now on high bar for Michigan crew bowled at a 13.86% the scores are building on horizontal bar and judah’s down oh what a mistake for the Wolverines uncharacteristic and Judah he’s going to lose a full point there he had a fall at Big 10 as well but bounced back with a 14.16 six on high bar last night which was the highest score of that second session and so Yuan chia’s going to lift him back up and he’s going to finish out this routine every point is going to matter especially with the Cardinal doing so well they are crushing pommel horse and Coy young score we saw that routine moment ago a 15.23 three the only one to come even close to Patrick Hoops on pommel horse and that is bad news for Michigan and amazing news for Stanford well Judah is going to hold on to it but you know he is going to be disappointed there with that fall on high bar Jr Chow the anchor on pommel horse for Stanford [Applause] [Music] this could be a potential season high for the Cardinal when they need it the most here on pommel horse this is the best pommel horse team in the country so it’s not a surprise to see a really strong rotation from them oh that does it and puts the stamp on maybe a fifth straight national champion ship Fred Richard needs to hit and needs to go huge here for Michigan the score for Judah was [Applause] 12.86 the highest score right now on highbart by the way is Tate Costa still with a 13.9 and Richard is down and Michigan hopes of a national championship goes with him two mistakes from quite honestly two of the best male gymnasts in the country what a shock but it’s why you absolutely just never [Applause] know these are two International athletes two gymnasts and Paul Judah and Fred Richard that competed with the US in one bronze at World Championships two that will be in the mix to make the US Olympic team in Paris this summer but tonight that doesn’t matter neither of them could catch the bar on just one release move and it’s all you need to do quite a disappointment Richards is going to nail that and for Fred Richard and Michigan it’s not quite over yet but that is a massive hit when you talk about Stanford putting together on pommel horse a 72.0 65 wow that is way better over two points better than their average so for Nebraska Taylor christopolis this is not going to count towards their overall ring score that’s finished with a 67. 598 this is just for the allaround [Applause] individually still quite honestly a bit in shock that Fred Richard and and Paul Judah both fall on high [Applause] bar so Michigan’s High bar score ends up being a 66. 664 it just goes to show you how good Fred Richard is on high bar that a 13.1 was his final score but they get nothing above a 13866 that was crew bold who had the highest score and then their low is 12.86 six nothing can be dropped five up five count and that is really going to sting and it is going to mean most likely a huge lead with just one rotation still to come for Stanford there’s no doubt the Cardinal can feel it a potential fifth national championship on the horizon for Stanford with one rotation left [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] time for the sixth and final rotation back here inside the cavelli center as we decide the 2024 men’s gynastics national champion and you can see the lead that Stanford has opened up with that 72.0 65 on pommel horse it is just about six full points on Michigan unfortunately for the Wolverines they were right in it but miss Q’s on high bar Falls from Paul Judah and Fred Richard who nobody expected put them at just a 66.66% so now it’s kind of more a fight for second and they will need some massive mistakes on rings from Stanford but the Cardinal unfortunately for the opposition is the best Rings team in the entire country and so that also with that fall for Richard and Judah opens up this all-around competition as well KY young holding on to the lead but fuzzy Bennis has rebounded as well and Josh KS is in position he has made a strong move and now just in third and he is 1.4 points away CS will finish on hiar he’s the highest finisher by far in the all around after five rotations individually competing for Penn State who didn’t make the national championship as a team but CS is competing for one and try to get an all-around Title by himself and so rotation number six is going to move Michigan to floor Illinois will be on pommel horse Stanford trying to get their fifth straight title and they head to Rings Nebraska on vault parallel bars for Ohio State and then High bar for Oklahoma and so coy Young Who finishes off on rings where he is very strong and has opened up nearly a two-point Advantage we will see if they are able to hold on which let’s be honest when you talk about the dominance of the Cardinal you would not expect them to make multiple mistakes but again everything counts they cannot drop a score so in five up and five count anything really can happen so on the pomel horse to start off his Landon Bennis from [Applause] [Music] Greensville Ben is qualifying with a score of 13. 733 30 seconds [Applause] [Music] [Applause] seconds just a freshman but getting ready to head back on [Applause] [Music] top from [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Willam Landon Fuzzy’s younger brother who competes for Oklahoma few years younger but probably a little disappointed there but again just a freshman this is the introduction to college gymnastics for him finishing off his first [Applause] season oh hopefully he’s okay Smith [Music] Gordon couldn’t complete it spun around but he is thankfully walking it [Applause] off so no back back to another individual competitor here for [Applause] Cal waiting for know a new felds here on rings [Music] [Applause] bears not qualifying as a team their women’s team however competing in the National Final in Fort Worth earlier today won by LSU for their first ever National Championship so congratulations to the Tigers on the women’s side and now newfeld to finish off his night on rings still Fred Richard holding on to that title at 14.4 it is to take a huge routine to knock that score off but with Stanford on rings you know they are capable of that and Co young is going to be one of our final competitors of the night we are going to know the score that he will need in order to win the all-around title right now up by almost two full [Applause] points Coy young then fuzzy Bennis and then Josh KS KS behind Bennis by about 410 great competition though so far Stanford’s done exactly what they needed to every step of the way and it just shows you why I mean Tom blle is absolutely building a dynasty Josh corns he’ll be the leader in the clubhouse after this R routine and we will know exactly what both Bennis and young [Music] need really strong showing though by the US national team member we’re going to see plenty from him coming up on the elite stage this [Music] summer nice couple tachs in a row one split one laid out [Applause] out line change and now the Finish slight hop back but definitely a great competition for Josh KS nothing to be ashamed of by any means nice job and so Illinois starts their final rotation with G [Applause] [Music] chulie the number still to beat on pommel horse is a 15.3 set by Air Force’s Patrick Hoops Co young got close to it the only one that’s even come anything in the high 14- 15 range Co young had a 15 233 and that’s really solid by [Applause] shulie but it is between Stanford and Michigan and really just Stanford at this point Nebraska on [Applause] vault Chase M will get the Huskers back on underway they were potentially opening for their first NCA championship in 30 years it was not to be though they have eight of them all Between 1979 and 1994 finished fifth last year and trying to just better that finish at the moment they are currently in fifth just ahead of Ohio State and M is [Applause] set he held it I mean triumphant response there from chck cha that coaches on with his arms in the air and now here is Michigan to get going they need a huge rotation on floor Landon bck lce Nar with a 14.0 in the leadoff B is doing everything he possibly can the lineup following Blix is crew bold Fred Richard and Paul Judah and you know that they want to write the wrong that was done on high bar when they both fell so I would expect a inspire tied to say the least floor routines coming up from Richard and [Music] [Applause] Judah it’s all about the sticks though at this point for Michigan they just can’t afford many deductions if they want to stay in this competition so far so good there for Blick on those last two passes [Applause] beautifully done by Blix keeping him in it as much as he possibly can at least but the lead of about six is going to be hard to come back from but hugs all around for Blicks the sophomore the Big 10 floor co- Champion with a 14.5 and now let’s go to Rings here for Stanford Taylor burhart following up AR chetri [Applause] [Applause] 13.96% hat to this program that Tom gamy has built six overall championships at Stanford for the Cardinal head coach head coach of Team USA as well in Tokyo leading them to a fifth place finish in the Team final he’s had his hands all over USA senior men’s gymnastics for years look at that just tiny tiny hop and they could take even bigger hops than that Burkhart doing exactly what he needed to there it’s all about hits at this point stay on the Rings hold it for two seconds and they’re going to be national champions can Oklahoma put on any sort of pressure though is the question so far they have one score in from Brigham fren away it was an 11.8 33 not even close to what they’re going to need little bit far away from the bar there from Kelton Christensen [Applause] it’s a one horse race at this point we thought there might be some drama coming in but the falls for Michigan on high bar really erased any chance of an upset you see all the scores from Stanford in the back I mean 70 plus on four of the events nice finish there for Christensen and crold for [Applause] [Music] Michigan slight little hop forward the scores for Michigan on floor at the moment a 140 and a 14433 we mentioned that was really good from Landon BX the floor score to beat is Taylor christopolis is 14 18.5 that will get you an individual floor title if crew bold can do that but of course Fred Richard and Paul Jud are gonna have something to say about it as well but now including crew bolds just three routines left in Michigan’s national championship [Applause] well done there as bold finishes up the Minnesota transfer holds it just barely but more than enough [Applause] Colt [Applause] [Music] Walker an alternate on the USA national team at Worlds last fall he’s been in amazing form this year though Stanford so far has 13833 13966 on rings where they are the best team in the country on this event [Music] [Applause] and just wondering where does Michigan Stack Up in terms of floor well actually Stanford has a better nqa on rings than Stanford even does on [Applause] floor they can feel it they absolutely know what is on Deck as Mark berlaga gets ready to go for Stanford and then Asher hog and then they are done back to Oklahoma on high [Applause] bar fuzzy to finish off his [Applause] day will fuzzy Benish be potentially an individual all around Champion can he stick this Landing that might be what it comes down [Applause] to executing the high bars hand St perfectly puts it down yes didn’t move the feet clicks the heels together Josh K score of 86. 664 is the one to beat in the allaround with still Dennis and young to come here’s Brandon Deng for Illinois Deng a pommel horse specialist his highest score from session one was a 15.0 the Mark is 15.3 from Patrick hoops this is the last chance to supplant him as a national champion not going to happen dang the Big 10 freshman of the year just made the pivotal mistake but I would not be surprised if this young man wins a national championship on pommel horse before his career is through for the [Applause] Ali has had such a great career already seven titles in his first season including a big 10 championship that’ll be a little bit of a disappointment there for Brandon [Applause] Deng but a strong finish and there is no doubt that’ll be a great learning experience for him Paul Judah now the final competitor for Michigan on floor [Applause] dude it’s just so good here the mark to be the still Taylor christopoulos is 14.5 Judah following up Fred Richards 13.83 three Last Hope for the Wolverines though in all likelihood it is not even going to matter Stanford has just been destroying Mark berlaga score was a [Applause] 13933 j to bounces out of it great things on the horizon though for Paul Judah I got a feeling we’re going to see him in Paris potentially coming up this summer and he will try to get a medal for Team USA but he’s going to have some stiff competition it’s a strong field on the US national team Asher Hong is also there and you would expect he is going to challenge as [Applause] well Hong finishing off off the competition for Stanford still Coy young asked to go for the allaround title but it will not count towards the Cardinals final [Music] score I think everybody inside the building knows though and certainly the Stanford fans who made their way from Halo Alto and Beyond and there’s the exclamation point he’s like a human exclamation point there putting his feet straight down into the mat straight together looks like five in a row for Stanford tyor christopoulos competing in the allaround as well for Nebraska on vault able to hold it and stay in bounds nice Vault Well Done by christopolis we just wait on Asher Hong’s score to come in but who knows if it even matters at this point hung with a 14.96 six oh my goodness that’s going to give him the Rings title unless Co young can supplant him at the moment though Asher Hong has won three of the individual events this has been a master class here from Stanford Fred Richard is the leader in the clubhouse in the allaround with an 83. n99 at the moment Co young has a 72.83 two so he really needs what is an 11.3 that is it and he is going to be your national [Applause] champion in his Junior season the three time NCAA allamerican stay on the Rings hit your handstands control your Landing [Applause] what a competition for Coy young to come in with all that expectation he won all arounded npsf championships and he’ll finish off as a national individual allaround Champion for Stanford what a performance by the Cardinal five straight seven overall Stanford is your National Champion blowing away Michigan by almost six points with all of that pressure on your shoulders I mean you would think a three repeat is hard enough they are now the second program to ever win five straight Nebraska did it from 1979 to 1983
