you know sometimes you’ll see a team that wins game one on the road come out and looks satisfied in game two not this Minnesota Bunch boys and girls they top 61-35 trying to take a two nothing lead over the reigning Champs in Denver American Express halftime report from Studio J in Atlanta Ernie Johnson with Shaq and Kenny and Chuck what did we just see we saw one of the best defensive teams I’ve ever seen you know the stats don’t lie they are incredible defensively you take you talk about what even Rudy’s not there but on the perimeter they’re guarding everything led by Ant-Man their best player is playing great defense and the rest of those perimeter players uh even without Rudy man this is one of the best defensive teams I’ve ever seen you ever life hey let me tell you why because in our day they had a a couple guys out there they don’t have any little guys out there but Mike Conley he’s the only little guy out there all their wing players are like six seven Jaden McDaniels Alexander in our day we would put a couple little guys they don’t have Mike connley is the only little guy they got out there let’s hit the American Express teammates and we’ll get to a couple of breakdowns from the first half and uh well offensively uh cat and U Rex as you call him combining for 36 um which is more than the nuggets have scored in the first half it is 61-35 but it all starts with the defense number one defensive rating in the NBA and man in full effect in the first half you know there’s a whole saying that defense wins championships and I agree with you Ernie I thought they were going to be a little bit satisfied but look they’re not intimidated by the so-called Champs of perimeter defense picking them up half court three4 court and just moving their feet locked and loaded not worrying about the Reps and how they going to call a claim just staying down right there not going for ball fakes not going for In-N-Out moves just playing great D active hands LSU n Reed from Jersey not being intimidated and right here the Joker with the dribble handoff you know a lot of teams switch but hey I’m going to get over possibly make the late switch right here give me that three four guys going against Joker blocking a shot right here and look just active hands and they’re just act active you know they’re getting getting at it to the point to where Denver is complaining they’re crying about calls you know they’re messing them up you know momentum wise and they just keep playing and you know game might be over they got yeah this game’s over they got eight blocks and seven steals in the first half against this against this can I take off with because uh he he said something don’t run he he said something about crying about calls so that’s what I’m going to talk about because I’mma show you the play because there’s a fine line Ernie between getting excited and getting your team getting fired up and losing your composure and we’ve all been there in a playoff setting when someone’s just beating your butt so right here Anthony aedward goes in he gets the N1 or not called N1 so there’s not an N1 call there but you know coach Malone is trying to fire his team up or at some point are you starting to lose the composure as a team and and and to me you got Aron Gordon everyone’s excited because right now you’re like these guys are beating our butt we have to do something different here on the now we’re on a two-on-one fast break they get a uh Ant-Man it comes in makes my man fall Reggie fie Jackson points at him gets into the lane here and gets filed so now off of this now fine line firing yourself up complaining about every play and what happens is when you can’t stop the run and you’re in the play we’ve all been there is a F line where we just everybody loses it and they have to pull themselves together not for this game possibly but for next game to say oh this might work next game but I understand why Co Malone was mad car toown just ran over that was a foul all you can’t just run over somebody if we get a chance to pick that play up that’s a that was the play before before it was 100% a charge it was awful just like them Bone Heads in the New York Nick game earlier kept making bad calls that was a charge this I’m tell you this was just an awful call that’s not the reason but understand why coach you call a little tacky F and you let a guy just run over a guy that’s total bull move your feet like they teach in elementary school Minnesota has led by as many as 28 10 nothing points off turnovers in the first half 15 to3 fast break points Denver in the second quarter six field goals and six turnovers haven’t been crushed this hard since uh yeah since pregame show probably yeah exactly nuggets eting eating alive that’s exactly right nuggets e has there ever been more of a snap shot of contentment than that shot of chuckster this a charge in all 50 states no it ain’t come on man a charge stop sicking up with himself on man man up come on man can’t run over people stand your ass up and play some defense [Music]

  1. CAN'T THINK OF A TIME COACH MALONE RAN ON THE NBA FLOOR YELLING IN A CAUCASIAN REFS FACE LIKE THAT..I WILL WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE POSTS HIM DOING THAT IN THE PAST.

  2. In case you couldnt read Malone’s lips he was saying “look ive come to be known as the daddy here.. so if you dont start making the right calls, we are going to have to start calling the timberwolves our daddy… and i aint trying to do that right now”

  3. it's not a charge if the feet aren't planted, and it wasn't player out of control or anything like that. You go to block a dunk and lose your footing, that's a defensive foul if anything.

  4. What happened Nuggets fans? Michael Malone and their fans was talking Dynasty after the franchises FIRST ever ring 😭🤣 first back2back or 3peat .. last to do it? Lakers.. jokic >>> Shaq?! Shaquille O’Neal is 1 of 2 players to ever 3Peat

  5. The T-wolves are in a great position to be champions because KAT and Gobert, two superstars in their own right, were able to set aside their pride and let AntMan be the lead superstar. Unselfishness and recognizing your true value to the team is a mark of a true champion– Didn't David Lee do that with GSW when he deferred to Steph? That is also the reason why Phoenix and the Lakers will never win a (real) championship.

  6. The nba has the softest league office in sports so why not behave like this. Silver and dumars should be charged with murder for killing David Sterns baby( the nba).

  7. To Chuck's point, the perimeter T-Wolves defenders remind me of the 90s Bulls. MJ, Pippen, Horace Grant, and Ron Harper ran a terrifying full court press when the Bulls went on their playoff runs. I'm glad the refs are letting the T-Wolves defend. The modern hand check rules have turned too many modern NBA games into yawners. Competition is only interesting when there is friction and resistance to scoring. Defense creates that. Credit to Minnesota.
