Today Mike is in the bay to test out some of the buzziest drivers of the season. There is no denying this is the year of “10K’ and while all of these drivers aren’t labeled as 10K, they all are high MOI offerings that compete with each other for forgiveness. Come see which Mikey prefers after trying the Qi10 MAX, ST MAX, G430 MAX 10K and the Black Ops 0311!

very good I think you might be back in the team EXC me you were kicked off the team there for a little while D Performance but you might be earning your way back in the team all right guys welcome back to the channel big day today eagerly anticipate to test four maximum forgiveness High Moi drivers I don’t want to say it I don’t want to drop the 10K but you got to say it’s first time of the year we’re going to call it the highi drivers some of these are not some of them are on the quest to become 10K some of them are already already there some of them give you other options I like a 10K I like the word well that sums you up um we’ve got the Ping 10K we’ve got the pxg Black Ops we have the St Max from Muno a driver we tried a couple weeks ago and really really enjoyed it and obviously the tailed qi1 Max um have you tried any of these drivers this going to be other than I know youve tried pxg You’ done well with in Theo that’s it of course so you’ve not tested any of the the ones kind of pegged against one t personally no equipment this year that’s done a lot of fit not a lot of testing okay okay right um we’re going to start off with the tail made uh we’ll run through the order from there shaft of choice Dam TB 50 stiff if people don’t know it’s Mikey’s favorite you’re in the Market coffee sounded flushed Mikey very very straight isn’t it yeah yeah not bad that’s a driver that sets up quite nicely for you not from a spin perspective but with the L angle sitting a little bit more up allows you to tilt the face a bit more left yeah just keeps your face to PA face to path under control yeah the one that bleeds to the right it’s I mean it’s still in play very good I think you might be back in the team excuse me you were kicked off the team there for a little while I know dri performance but you might be earning your way back in the team back in the bus well you know what this thing doesn’t know how to do anything other than go I know that’s pretty good for I know I don’t swing it great but that was that was bad here Mikey Bo s k sits nice it does set nice isn’t it yeah big old head a he’s massive we bit flatter than the uh tailor made quicker yeah definitely quicker yeah I feel like you’re giving the 10K a few more problems to deal with and it’s doing a nice job that’s like a feel like we’re getting different swings I’m know I don’t you look like you in the groove with qi1 boy yeah yeah it’s fine I mean you catch a toy it’s in your favor what these drivers are designed to do is exactly that obviously catching it a little bit lower in the head that’s an example for for people watching who think that every 9 degree drivers created equally we’ve got more Loft up the top than we do in the middle we’ve even less down low uh Dynamic L angle about the same Club delivery very very similar but biggest Difference Maker obviously is that Dynamic LOF that puts more pressure into the golf ball gives you more uh ball speed and less spin Mikey yeah net result same same same same yeah but you had an easier job with the tail yeah yeah all right Michael tried this a few weeks ago it was nice for you yeah I like uh out of the couple that we’ve tested already for shape and look and stuff like that I would say 311 yeah definitely wins that nice all right Mikey boy last but not least Y the mzy so which one passes the eye test first there’s a the eye test there’s a tie for mauno and pxd for sure I just like chuckling away myself over here it’s oh we’re not finished this one just yet but look like when it all shakes out they’re all so good yeah at what they do and really quite similar obviously we’ll see how this one plays out in the averages but like you had a a definitely easy time launching Qi 10 Max but the other three basically you could interchange the three the other three easily yeah it’s insane how close those numbers are what that one sounded good all right young Michael we uh going to dissect things a little bit here we actually Revisited qi1 a little bit then because I I wonder if you know there was a bias towards it not being S as quick cuz you were just starting out with it but in all honesty it was exactly the same yeah um speed wise so when we Revisited it and it also had quite a different flight from the other ones easier to launch for sure it launched way easier for you starts more left which I obviously lots to work on but yeah definitely starts more left which I like to see ease of use is is high but as you get into the other ones I mean take your pick I mean you know you could literally dress them up is the same thing and it just there’s nothing really different about them the mauno did have less of a draw bias to it yeah uh it was the one that was was having you were having a harder time closing that no doubt about it um yeah face angle the the least sort of square relative to the path um by just different with qi1 yeah able to get I guess get that attack up a little bit more on qi1 as well which is nice pretty tough to pick a winner I would just say you know on the on the eye test I think the the pxg was was very neutral it was you some of your quicker ball speeds with that as well yeah um I think that head is is like we said one of if not the most adjustable out there so I think we probably could get to tweaking that I might set the face a bit more left I might put that heavyweight into the back just to kind of change the the CG increase that launch a little bit uh and get a little bit more out that driver for you but not trying to disadvantage any of the other drivers that don’t have as much movable weights like Muno and and obviously like Tate in this case yeah so if you going to go and pick one today and and take out to play you going Q10 yeah easy to launch easy to launch that that low that lower launch on some of them even in like the 99 and the that I do not like to look at at all so I’d go with I’d go with qi1 for sure it it was very balanced for you uh when it came to the start line and obviously the curvature it finished on the line pretty much every time I think this was really nice anytime you get in that high toe that’s a really nice place for your strike to uh live relative obviously to your the face being a touch open at times so can hold you together um yeah I thought I thought 43 tanky would have been uh would have been quite good for you but it wasn’t it wasn’t driving it was it was launching too low and I I didn’t I didn’t love the weight of it it was just right out of the gates it went it’s a different animal though isn’t it like we’re we’re standardizing the shaft here trying to can obviously make that a non variable trying to make that constant it’s like you know 198 head you know 197 head 206 head it’s only to feel different right so um but that’s that’s that’s where it gets us 10K from it gets us from lots of mass in the head it becomes harder to destabilize on the strike um but I totally agree with you if I were you I’d be I’d be telling you uh your know Qi 10 was was fantastic I think the pxg was close yeah I really do I think that was uh was quite close like you said there was I think some faster ball ball speeds there faster is anyways um but yeah no both both good I I just again that launch it just looks like a safety thing for me yeah if I was to go out right now all right guys as we wrap up going to ask Mike the question is it you and Nelly you going to play the same driver looks like need one need one need to revamp the bag you’re you’re keen on the qi1 core you like that head yeah so um it’ll be interesting to see if given a little bit of testing I know you’ve not really done much yet this year season’s just beginning really for us MH yeah so I we need send you to the course you like to do most of your testing out there um you don’t like to see in the course how it flies yeah outside ball flight is I don’t know just makes it it’s nicer to see for me you like it yeah yeah defin definit people like different stuff so I think that would be a good idea build something up for yourself um what would your takeaways be what would your message be on the 10K drivers I mean you got to try that uh 0311 pxg I think like you talked about the interchangeable weight for as forgiving as they are and have that custom you know part of it where you you know we have obviously access to a bunch of different weights I mean could you go beyond 10K with it um potentially but it is one of the nicest looking ones and the most customizable so if you’re out there getting fit definitely try 0311 um but hel’s done a really nice job with qi1 definitely they’re on a on a bit of a role with these uh with the 10K Max I think it’s it’s obviously getting so much great hype um with the players who’ve got it in play obviously morawa and Nelly being the two most notal names are playing great with it in the bag 100% yeah I mean when we saw Mora played earlier in the season we both text each other there go he using a 10K driver and sure enough he was so yeah know it’s impressive that’s good stuff all right guys uh 10K is the buzz T of the year I mean I’m sure you’ve all given it a try by now and and if not H it’ll be on your list of items to try next time you you get either to the range back to your own club if it’s open now or if you’ve got a fit and coming your way I think there’s definitely some merits if you do tend to stray a little bit off center with the strike uh if you’re trying to get a little bit more ball speed performance out those miss hitss that is the name of the game when it comes to these highi drivers it’s trying to mitigate the Miss trying to keep the head nice and stable and not sort of you know see is as big of a a Miss in the bag so key off the the te to play good goal so uh make sure you get out there and try it let us know if you have and let us know if you’re Keen to stay tuned for more we’ll see you again soon [Music]

  1. Damn it I just finished my videos shooting the same thing. Love your content and highly agree on everything you guys said. The 10k ….. I'm starting to think it's more of a marketing ploy but all the drivers were great.

  2. who are all these people hitting balls 240 ,250 carry
    I don't believe it
that swing is a 200 carry max out here in western Washington 😅

  3. I love your content. I just tested both TM and Ping in 9* heads. 100mph swing speed and was seeing good ball speeds on both. I used the manufacturers shaft options and didn't notice Ping feeling heavier. Is that because Ping's shaft options are counterbalanced ?

  4. I tried the Ping G430 Max10K for a while and I found I struggled with it's dispersion (and got a lot of toe hits as well?!?). I ended up selling it and keeping my Ping G430 LST, thinking the other would have been easier to hit. Who knew…

  5. I got fitted 2 weeks ago and the Taylor spun like it was its day job getting in the 4 and 5 thousands lol ping was dialed 2500 spin all day long with 276 carry all day love the new ping

  6. Could you imagine if Mikey's swing path was inside to out? He'd be at 275 carry easy.

  7. I did a fitting back at the end of March, tried all of these “10K” drivers and ended up in a TSR2. Just goes to show you don’t just go with the marketing hype. Stay unbiased and test everything

  8. TM LS spun crazy low for me with Ventus blue and 8 degree, spin was 500. Way to low but it was amazing for me because i am a high spin player. Ended up with Ventus Black tr 7s with 9 degree QI10 LS. 2k spin

  9. I don’t understand PXG “fitting”. I thought the idea was to get the best club for your swing, and then dial it in. How is a golfer supposed to compare PXG with all the other brands, when they can’t be tested and fitted head to head?

  10. Wonder if titleist has one later this year and how good it will be compared to qi10

  11. If you want a real MOI old school vs new school test put your winner here against Callaway's FT-IZ. You might be surprised!

  12. It’s all anout how a driver performs on a golf coure as Mike said.

I would add — Not on a Sales Stimulator! 😊

I got a price for a PXG BO with my shaft. $895 + $40 for shipping. Whats next?? A $3000 driver??

  13. Good content as always. I understand the reason for keeping the shaft the same BUT it would have been interesting to see Mikey fit with the best shaft combo for the head. Would the outcome have been the same?

  14. Tried my buddies this weekend. It was set to 9 degrees which is just a bit too low for me so I had a hard time getting it up in the air. I usually play a 10.5, so maybe that would work just fine. Overall, it did feel really good though off the face and stayed on line really well.

  15. An oem that makes available a 10k driver at 6-7 degrees of loft will get my immediate attention 🤷‍♂️

  16. Mike giving Ian such a hard time about changing his bag too often 😂 cue to Mikey saying he needs to revamp the bag 1 month into the season.

  17. Was fitted into the Ping 10k with a kai'li white stiff shaft(9 degree head). I just had my first round with it this year, it feels like a cheat code, just an absolute fairway finder. Hoping this takes me into single digit handicap!

  18. I’m keeping my Paradym. Compared it to the rest, not worth spending what they want for these new ones … especially the PING.
    $975

  19. Results pretty much match mine but I went with ping. I launch high anyway so the ping being lower was perfect for me.

  20. Love to see the Mizuno tweeked a little, or even all of them actually spec'd for him and see where they all actually stack up.

  21. Mikey might want to try the STX-230. I have it and it was to eliminate a touch fade. It just goes straight and can get turned over a bit. I love that driver!

  22. Can we get a round 2 of the Taylormade and the PXG? Rules: any and all mods allowed to each club to see which one really comes out on top for Mikey.

  23. You mentioned it during the video, but I do think it would be great if Mike had a fully comprehensive fitting with the PXG to see just how much you can squeeze out of it. I have the Tour-1 version and I absolutely LOVE it.

  24. PXG was clearly better. Smallest dispersion, lowest spin, fastest ball speed. get the launch up (maybe 10.5 degree head) and it'll fly farther than the TaylorMade. Seems like Ian made up his mind on TaylorMade before the test.

  25. I’m extremely disappointed by PXG black ops. At the store, it out performed my Sim 2 max by 50 yards. When I took it to another track man studio, do my own testing, it is actually shorter than the sim 2 max. My sim 2 max also doesn’t have an upgraded shaft with PXG. Return it, I have to pay for shipping and 12% restocking fee.

  26. So question…my handicap is around 18 right now (will come down once I actually play more and get back into my rhythm). That being said, I’ve been watching you and some others on drivers and seems like there was a trend of if you had faster swing speed you went into a LS head, but seeing more tour guys going away from LS models (they can control it way better obviously), but I am thinking my fitter saw swing speed and gravitated to LS heads although my handicap is higher. Interested to hear your take on this. Just concerned about getting onto course and struggling to keep it in play (since had some wayward shots with driver was fitted for).

  27. Mikey's swing path is getting so far left since he tried to get quicker. Please help him, Ian. Looks like he should be hitting shanks

  28. Have my first ever real fitting in a week in a half! It is club champion in Tigard Oregon so excited!

  29. Would like to see the dispersion much more clearer next time. Of all data this one is the most important for ultra forgiving Drivers. Same with height of ball flight too.

  30. Awesome video for the average golfer, I definitely don't have Mike's speed, but just the forgiveness is perfect. 4 chioces to go try, comes down to looks, sound, feel. which, as a mid HCer, I would look for those in a driver for sure.TY
