have dragged me off my sunlounger with good reason actually because I I can give a little bit of an update on on what is the well it’s the the significant story in Formula 1 heading towards this Miami grown pre weekend which concerns the future of Red Bull’s Chief technical officer Adrien Nei legendary Formula 1 designer who we revealed last week had let the team know he wanted to leave now the time scale of his departure is what is in question and what I can say is that that is still up for discussion Adrien Nei will be here working with Red Bull this weekend and I don’t believe there will be a sudden departure for him if you like I think we could expect him to carry on in his role handson within F1 for well a while let let’s see what I what I can see is there will be no official announcement from the team today I can also say that new will be traveling to the Grand Prix with Christian Herer now they haven’t had a face-to-face discussion yet about the matter that that Louis Adrian neui wants to leave but they will have that opportunity now however as I understand it nei’s Mind Is Made Up and the question is really how long will he remain at Red Bull he has contracted to the end of 20125 Might it be possible for him to to negotiate an exit a little bit soon sooner than that let’s see I’ve also gained a little bit more detail on on why exactly it is that Nei has decided to leave and it isn’t a shortterm thing uh I have learned that Nei was considering leaving Red Bull last year and that Christian Horner had to to talk him into effectively signing a new contract with the team which he did last May but he has become increasingly disillusioned with the power struggle going on behind the scenes at the team this friction between Saltsburg where Red Bull’s Head offices in sporting terms are and the Formula 1 team base at Milton keing and also the wider friction between the the Thai majority ownership and the Austrian 49% minority ownership that power struggle has made it a difficult working environment for Nui who additionally is not a fan of the Netflix era of Formula 1 which is so much in the spotlight so much commercial Focus as well that does not sit well with him so let’s see what this weekend will bring in in terms of of maybe a firmer time scale for when he’s going to go but I can also add that Lou Adrian yui does not want to be the focus of attention on the week when when Formula 1 commemorates the 30th anniversary of eron sena’s death nuui was the chief designer at Williams at the time of of sena’s fatal accident at IMA and he does not want to be in the public public high and dominating the headlines and the focus which he thinks should should be on Senna and that tragic anniversary yeah you can understand why for sure um look Craig when we spoke last week we did talk about Ney didn’t we and the fact that he could join leis Hamilton at Ferrari is that still something that’s is he disillusioned by the sport or just disillusioned by what’s happening at Red Bull well what I can say in factual terms about that is that Adrien yui has told Red Bull that he has not signed an agreement to join another Formula 1 team he would not have a shortage of offers and we certainly know of of interest from Ferrari and interest from Aston Martin as well although as I reported last week sources well-placed sources at Aston Martin of mine felt that if Nei were to go elsewhere Ferrari was the more enticing proposition for him but I I’ve spoken to a number of people close to Adrien yui who understand that it’s going to be a matter of weeks before he himself makes up his mind what to do next and retirement isn’t out of the question either he he’s 65 years old he is under contract at Red Bull until the end of 2025 might there be a period of gardening leave additionally to that he has other projects and interests which he he might want to get involved in might joining Ferrari mean a degree of upheaval in terms of of perhaps having to move to Italy although maybe that isn’t absolutely essential but yeah that that that really isn’t uh a known thing yet exactly where he thinks his his future is if he has one within Formula 1 but but I think what we do understand is that of the projects available to him the Ferrari one does have his consideration and I think that that that that makes sense to him as a potential future career path if the career is to be extended

  1. Sky F1 are so far behind the BBC on reporting these stories and he’s just talking the Red Bull marketing teams story he’s leaving because of Horner stop wasting our time by telling us things we knew a week ago

  2. since it's senna's birthday, could we thought about going back to williams??? i mean it could be an huge challenge, much more satisfying to going to mercedes or ferrari. we know that newey love taking small teams and make them grow up.

  3. No doubt, if Slater ever gets in front of Newey, he'll ask him some go-damn awful question that's impossible to answer politely.

  4. I think it's purely a engineering decision. As Brawn said it once a upon, "I like to fix things that are broken" I believe Newey has hit the ceiling with Rb20 and looks for another beasts to fix. This whole Horner thing is just coincidence. If this all plays out to be true, then his decision was made around the time Hamilton announced his ferrari move. Unless Hamilton moved because he knew Newey was headed that way.

Either way it shows Newey has had this on his mind last year already, or atleast once he realized Rb20 was gold.

Sad to see him go, even after all this time I still feel rb is an underdog team and I'm really enjoying this domination. It's like Lennon leaving the Beatles, some things just should not be.

    Yet here we are 😢

  5. Just don't go to ferrari Adrian!!!!!!Aston Martin man.Just remember money isn't everything. Ask any Egyptian buried with their belongings in the desert 😂😂😂😂😂

  6. Hi is leaving in the first quarter of 2025!! Then he will work on the RB17 and after that he doesn’t know so stop spreading a bunch of BS and no he isn’t going to Ferrari or any other team

  8. Only one person knows why and when he will leave, that’s Newey, No one else, everything else is speculation and ego opinions. He thinks how do you know?

  9. New beautiful livery, new race suits and helmets…this Miami weekend is gonna be so exciting. Can't wait to see the car on track! 🙌 Let´s go guys! And Fred cooking behind the scenes! 😎💪 ❤🇮🇹 Forza C² ❤❤💪🏽💪🏽 💚🤍❤ Forza Ferrari! 💚🤍❤

  10. Talking s*it. This guy just summarises everything we already know over and over and over again. He said the team will not make an official statement, the team made an official statement. He cant even get that correct.

  11. Slater is a walking talking, gossip magazine stretching out a story for the most air time possible. Had my fill 4 minutes in if that long, always with the soap opera verbal paparazzi.

  12. oh just cut this bs crap

when someone says they don’t feel like they’re fully appreciated it only means one thing; financial compensation. The supposed $100 million offer from Ferrari only confirms it.

  13. If there was a way (technology) to be able to get into Adrian's mind and see how it works, it would be amazing, to see how he can visualize a car that doesn't exist yet, start forming and changing it in his mind before he even starts to put it on PAPER (not CAD/CAM), this would be something else.
As for him leaving Red Bull, I am hoping he plans on retiring, let the man go enjoy his fortunes he worked so hard to get, at 65, maybe it's time to go do things he has been wanting to do for a long time. All the best Adrian in whatever you do.

  14. Adrian just designed and finished his own sail boat, he wants to sail with Amanda around the world, Adratic sea , Amalfi coast Italian, Greece to South Africa…enjoying his pension

  15. How does this guy hold on to a job? He's as interesting as watching paint dry, and he says nothing that isn't already widely known.

  16. Just went straight to the comments to see the video was utterly useless as usual with a headline as 'why newey wants to leave RB'!!!! the comments said it all again.

  17. God you guys are all missing the point – last year he put a deposit on a £6,000,00 Oyster 885 yacht – He's 65 and wants to go sailing just like Eddie Jordan's Lush – The first Oyster 885

  18. It makes me sad while Craig Slater get to be on track while other Sky F1 team members stay back home. Unless they don't want to travel I suppose..
