here’s something we don’t say all that often the Atlanta Braves are a mess right now after being swept by the Dodgers in the Mary weekend series but even before that leading into this weekend’s Dodgers series dropping two out of three to the Seattle Mariners so the Braves right now have an issue with the bats and we are going to talk about that good job by the Dodgers Andy PES I’m say all I’m going to say the guys on my fantasy baseball team picked him up the moment I heard he was being called up and I have not regretted it for one second peses has been fantastic he had the walk-off hit on Friday night individual accomplishments throughout this series The Three Homer game for Muny the two Homer game for motani today and the Braves really did not match it from an offensive perspective so we’ll talk about the Dodgers sweepy the Braves again good job the by the Dodgers here there’s a lot to feel good about it and oh by the way this all happening while Muki bets is kind of in the middle of a slow uh one of the slower periods that we’ll see from Muki bets so good job by the Dodgers as they are rising and when we do Power Rankings tomorrow they might be the number one team they have not been number one yet this season but they may have earned it with this week’s performance taking care of the Atlanta Braves and and not only on top of that took two out of three from the Diamondbacks to start the week so good things are happening for the Dodgers bad things are happening for the Braves good things are also happening for the Oakland Athletics almost almost came through a entire week without a loss Miami had to go and ruin it today uh Oakland is rising the podres are rising Headlight by the uh Lis AR trade the twins are Rising finally lost their first game in two weeks today yeah that’s how long that was the Braves the Blue Jays the Diamondbacks the Giants are falling Giants are looking at another L right now as of recording the Phillies are ahead 5 to one talked about just a moment ago this team has not climbed to the top of our power rankings which look it’s our power rankings okay it’s not the be all end all but what it is an indication of is the kind of not hot out of thegate start that maybe we expected the Dodgers to be on but this last week they got it rolling taking two out of three from Arizona in Arizona and then sweeping the Atlanta Braves a a marquee series a series that had everybody’s eyes and started out uh this thing started out the Friday game was a good one and it sort of looked like all right if this is what this series is going to be strap in this is going to be great they went extras on Friday PES again had the walk-off knock in the 11th to get the win it was a close one 4 to3 uh we had auna hit a home run so you’re thinking Braves fans hey you know what okay we lost this one that’s going to happen we’re disappointed uh we had the blown save from a glacius but you know what we’ll get will get them tomorrow and then tomorrow happened and and getting them tomorrow did not occur uh against the Dodgers the Atlanta Braves offense Friday three runs on six hits 0 for five with runners in scoring position on Saturday two runs on six hits six left on base one for 10 with Runners and scoring position so the first two nights one for 15 when Runners are in scoring in position and then on Sunday they didn’t even have an at bat with a runner in scoring position one run on five hits the hits the runs they’re not coming not getting the job done with Runners and scoring position Michael Harris one hit this past week Matt Olsen is off to a really poor start not just you over the last week going in the tank he’s struggled the whole way Marcel ozuno who had been somebody that from a uction standpoint you really been able to depend on that went away this week so this is just a bad this is a bad time bad timing for the Atlanta Braves to be cold and and unable to uh really put a strong effort forward here again 4 to3 on Friday that was the close game after that it was the 11-2 max Muny with the three Homer game and then today you had the 5 to one with a two Homer game from shotani so the Dodgers probably number one probably number one in baseball after this and I think they’re right where they belong at this point now 23 and 13 right up there 8-2 over their last 10 plus 63 run differential Dodgers are looking good Braves not so much let’s talk about the teams that are rising and the teams that are falling and again Rising right at the the top we can reiterate a lot of what we just said about the Dodgers things are looking good a 5 in one week last week we had them at the number four spot in our power rankings they had slipped behind the Braves the Yankees and the Orioles and I have a feeling we’re going to see them make the jump no I’m sorry they were three last week they were four the week before four the week before three last week cuz uh last week they benefited from a uh a a drop back so the the Dodgers were three last week probably likely to be number one they’re going to have to beat out the Yankees they’re going to have to beat out the Orioles when we get together maybe do a vote uh tomorrow but the Dodgers things are coming together things are looking good finally right over the last week second most runs scored and the 12 runs allowed second Fest 39 scored 12 allowed 39 scored 12 allowed over the last week otani’s crushing it PES again any PES outstanding stuff Crush I I from a from a hitter perspective he was one of the Dodger prospects that I was most excited about over the last couple of years and to see him show up fit right in he’s now slashing 319 338 and 565 in his first few weeks at the major league level and again we know he’s clutch at the walk-off hit on Friday so on top of this the Dodgers a 5 in one week a sweep of the Atlanta Braves doing it despite the fact that mooki bets is not really there right now mookie bets just four for 23 over the last week he’s still been productive he’s been getting on base he’s been drawing walks but we’re not getting from Muki bets but at the end of the day there’s enough with this team to go out there and get wins in other ways win the best player and not only that not only that not only mooki and the 4 for 23 but we also had a week where Freddy Freeman drove in one run 39 runs was the second most run scored Freddy only drove in one of them so a very interesting week for the Dodgers and uh the numbers and taking a look at who’s contributing and who sort of um took a week took took the week off from contributing I’m kidding so the Dodgers are rising Oakland is rising the Oakland Athletics again the Miami Marlins kind of ruined the winning streak uh heading into a new week it would have been a perfect week for the Oakland Athletics the Oakland Athletics would have begun the week above 500 uh they are 17 and 18 now but a five in one week for Oakland Jack thank you for the $2 Josh Rous for MVP go Mariners uh I also realized I missed four months uh on on the Platinum Club from Bradley thank you for the four months the Cardinal suck the offense needs to wake the hell up yes they do Bradley yes they do it’s basically the whole lineup needs to wake up good call on that uh again just getting uh getting catching up on on Super Chat and a Redemption so the Oakland Athletics swept the Pittsburgh Pirates took two out of three from Miami the most runs scored over the last week now that’s kind of one of those yeah but not kind of things they scored 40 runs over the last week 20 of them came on Saturday so hey at the end of the day still a significant run scoring output over the last week from the Oakland A’s Toro Rooker blade Blade’s in interesting to me bade over the last week three home runs 6 for 17 he was one of the top prospects for Miami just could not get it together and even last season not really that great but to start the 2024 season JJ baday somebody I’m rooting for I’m rooting for the whole Oakland team and who would it be rooting for JJ blad six for 17 over the last week his batting average is up 50 points from last year to a respectable level go Mariners and his Ops is up 100 points over last year so JJ blade again somebody we’re rooting for here on the channel to again click and to stick Oakland is looking good in the pitching from the last week Blackburn JP Sears Ross strippling Joe Bole was good against Pittsburgh not against Miami today JP series is interesting guys this was a picture last year that was kind of like H I don’t know may this guy maybe just doesn’t have it but now the erra on the year after his start against Miami is below fors at 389 the whip is a very respectable 107 the fast ball there is more movement on his fast ball and his sweeper has been much more effective than last year his vertical movement is way up and the vertical movement might take it out of the category of being being a sweeper cuz it’s more about the horizontal movement the vertical movement may be reaching a point where it’s not a sweeper anymore but either way it’s a breaking ball that’s really good the Run value for his breaking balls is in the 95th percentile I’m talking about JP Sears 95th percentile for Oakland after last year it was a negative pitch I like what I like what we’re seeing from this Oakland team I mean look we know Blackburn’s good strippling can get hot strippling six Innings no runs Ross stripping’s going to get you wins against Bad teams uh JP seies is taking a step this year look I’m not saying Oakland’s going to make the playoffs but Oakland is drastically more interesting and relevant this year on the for on the field stuff than they have been in the last couple years and I hope more people start showing up uh crowds I mean look what are you going to do you you support the team uh you going to support the owner you can support the team support the team uh it was it was empty the other day and that’s part of the problem uh so Padres are rising how about the uh I’m sorry the A’s are rising the Padres are also Rising 4- one this week took two out of three from Cincinnati took two out of three from Arizona in Arizona the third most run scored over the last week with 38 the highest team batting average over the last week with a 288 you have the Louisa rise Edition a four hit debut jerks and profar a 12 hit week he’s now batting 344 with five home runs a 963 Ops jerx and profar was sort of a late just throw him on the pile kind of addition this past off season and he’s been the best bat on that Padres team this year outstanding stuff and Crona worth konorth had a good week and Jake konor having a bounceback you know there we had got to a point where everyone was just on Jake croner worth and I kind of looked at it like dude had a bad year he’s still young he’s still talented why are we all on Jake konorth and he’s having a nice bounceback season an 843 Ops and he’s been productive I like what we’re getting from crony and Xander Bogarts is one of the guys that we’re sort of watching here off to a terrible start maybe things are coming around six-game hitting streak for Xander Bogarts now it’s one hit in each of those games so it’s it’s not like the batting average is skyrocketing or the WRC plus is skyrocketing but obviously if we’re getting hit six straight games something’s coming around so we like that and look on top of that we know we know this team can hit they did it again they can hit they can score runs we got an idea of what they can do when they can pitch this last week CE did his thing again CE has been very good might have to eat some Crow on Dylan CE he has been fantastic he has been upper echelon darish didn’t allow a run King didn’t allow a run Joe Musgrove only allowed two runs in his start this week so this is what this team can do Waldren was the guy that screwed it up I mean maybe could this team have gone six and0 if if if Matt Waldren wasn’t pitching maybe but this is a this is a a good week for the Padre’s not just on the field but also picking up Lis arise you like where that could take the padr and the twins that is our our fourth and final Rising team that we’ll cover here swept the white socks which you better do took two out of three from the Boston Red Sox the winning streak came to an end today on Sunday they did it it’s interesting how they’re doing it because it’s not like they are World beaters with the bats uh 29 runs this last week that was eighth which is good eighth most in runs with 29 over the last week did it without the long ball I mean they hit four of them but four home runs over a week we got teams we got Oakland hitting six home runs in a single game by the way didn’t mean to overlook this player but shout out to Brett Harris who had the two home runs his first two hits of his career Two home runs for Oakland uh on on that Saturday beat down the Saturday massacre so but back to Minnesota without the long ball Minnesota’s getting the job done these are tight margin wins these are one these are two-run wins they’re getting the job done the pitching has been good great might be a stretch but it’s been good Pablo Lopez with the bounce back he’s looking to get it going he’s one of those starters that has sort of started the 2024 campaign on a up and down uh slow cold start hopefully he’s going to get it going we saw a good outing from him this past week Joe Ryan with a couple of decent outings was on the bump today for the loss but score more runs maybe Joe Ryan can have a better out outing or a better outcome but the Minnesota Twins are certainly Rising Minnesota last week we had the twins they took a good jump they’re going to make an even more significant jump last week heading into the power rankings we were 18th we went from 24 to 18 then they kept winning games I think Minnesota can climb as high to 12 in our power rankings maybe looks look look I have them slated for 12 right now which puts them in that range for you the viewers to vote on the Twins and maybe give them a top 10 spot 19 and 14 are the Minnesota Twins let’s get to the teams that get to these teams that are falling Now teams that are falling and we’ll start with the at Braves again don’t mean to kick a dead horse here but dropping two out of three to Seattle before getting swept by the Dodgers only 14 runs this week only 14 not a good job bottom five batting lowest slugging lowest OPS in baseball I never thought we would have a week where the Atlanta Braves regardless of who they’re playing would have the lowest slugging in the week Harris with one hit olon two hits and again as we talked about Matt Olson for the season has been off to a really poor start 676 Ops a batting average under 200 three home runs for Matt Olsson is that enough is that enough uh enough of of of of examples for my argument that it’s not good for Matt Olsen auna went quiet this week RC you don’t really depend on him for a bat either but only three hits from him as well the team ra not good either 438 seventh worst they gave up 11 home runs the Atlanta Braves gave up 11 home runs the most home runs given up in the week so it literally was just all wrong Bryce Elder struggled that’s the spot in the rotation that I’m eyeing because that was Strider spot um again we got to move on from that cuz strider’s been out like a month now and Bryce Elder has put up some good outings but we’re going to be watching Bryce Elder he’s a very crucial component to this rotation you got the elderly group in Morton and sale you got Max freed Bryce Elder is a key component Ronaldo Lopez finally gave up some runs and it amounted to a loss Elder’s big and he struggled in his outing against the Dodgers going to need something back max freed looks like he’s back on track that is some good news but both times out this week he got one run so that’s obviously not going to work against the Dodgers again three runs on six hits two runs on six hits one run on five hits and on Sunday they didn’t even get anybody on in into scoring position I guess they figured what the hell why even bother because Friday and Saturday we were one for 15 combined what’s the point in even getting anybody there cuz we’re not driving them in anyway not a good week for the Atlanta Braves they will still be top five they will still be top five but our number one team for the past for three of the five weeks to start they have been no farther back than two I don’t know I think the Atlanta Braves are going to move to four or five and I’ll probably let you decide because I think you can make an argument that the Philadelphia Phillies need to be ahead of the Atlanta Braves and if that’s the case then we’re going to five for Atlanta so they are falling and again tomorrow Monday morning you guys will get to decide just how far the Braves are going to slide back you take the hit you take the penalty obviously we still believe the Braves are one of the best teams in Major League Baseball but in power rankings from week to week you can take a hit sometimes you’re going to take your lumps and the Atlanta Braves are going to take their lumps this week I expect them to be back how about the Toronto Blue Jays I don’t know if this team’s going to get back the Toronto Blue Jays this week got one of three from Kansas City and one of three from the Washington Nationals look I don’t care if the Kansas City Royals are off to a good start and the Washington Nationals are off to a good start um the Toronto Blue Jays need to beat these teams they need to take two out of three and one of the reasons why Kansas City’s off to a good start is that Kansas City is I believe now 5-2 against the Blue Jays that helps Kansas City Royals are like five games over 500 and three of those wins are are thanks to the to the blue and they’ played the white socks uh a handful of times you take the white sock and blue jays out of there and then I don’t know maybe Kansas City’s below 500 but the Toronto Blue Jays are really not they just don’t look like a team that is going to compete for a playoff spot this blue jays team which continues to move backwards from week to week is now 16 and 19 we haven’t had him in the top 10 at any week this week I have them sliding back to number 18 after this week again two and four against Kansas City Washington they scored 25 runs which was 13th so top half of the league but three games they were held to three or fewer runs so there’s that inconsistency we’re talking about the 554 ER was the third worst a lot of This falls on the Ben the starters BOS was solid gsman Kikuchi even Basset Basset gave up three runs but you’ll take it you got to be able to score the bullpen not good for the Toronto Blue Jays not Dependable this week and speaking of dependability Alec monoa made his return to the rotation today Sunday four Innings against the gats the first inning Bas is loaded walked a run in but got out of the jam you take it okay it’s shaky but it’s a Bend don’t break moment second inning third inning we’re okay and then in the fourth inning it all kind of fell apart in the fourth inning that pitch count got up to a point I guess obviously he was he got he wore down four Innings seven runs six earned on six hits and four walks the walks are what we’re watching Four walks for Alec Manoa in four Innings is not going to get get the job done so still question marks surround Alec monoa vlat had a good week which is a good sign 8 for 24 had the Grand Slam on Sunday put the Blue Jays up big but they couldn’t hold it vlat with a good week is a good sign also good stuff from ikf David Schneider Danny Jansen hit a couple home runs but two of the bats that you’re counting on look ikf and Schneider and Jans do their thing that’s supposed to be frosting on the cake and and and and the the rest of that cake is Springer and Bo and vlat and Justin Turner and outside of vlat and Justin Turner did hit two home runs this week but out after those two home runs Justin Turner only had two other hits the rest of the week Springer with four hits B two for 18 Bo is batting 195 with a 530 Ops George is batting 205 with a 5 82 Ops it’s bad so the Blue Jays falling and the Diamondbacks also falling moving in the wrong direction a two and four week they have a series against Cincinnati on Tuesday it’s going to be a big week for them because Cincinnati’s also not playing their best baseball but maybe there’s a chance here 21 runs scored was the 10th fewest the 655 erra was the worst in baseball the pitching is going to come back that’s what Arizona they’re going to need to get the pitching this week gallon missed the start and look what the hell happens all hell breaks loose when Zach gallon misses a start had a hamstring issue he is supposed to start Tuesday so it’s not a thing but didn’t get really a good start from anybody Monty fought Nelson Henry Sone nothing from nobody bad stuff and but they still won two games you you’re kind of the way I’m describing it it almost sounds like a team that went winless they still won two games so let’s get it going maybe Corin Carrol is coming around we’re looking for good signs maybe Corin Carrol is coming around five hits in uh in in in his last six games five of those six he’s got a hit and he had a two hit game on Sunday maybe Corbin Carrol’s coming around maybe and we’ve got the San Francisco Giants next only 14 runs at that’s a live update including the runs tonight 14 runs second fewest over the last week Tyro Estrada is literally the only guy hitting uh tonight with the Homer in the seventh inning so it is continued with Tyro Estrada tonight it’s Tyro Estrada and then you’re just waiting for somebody else to step up the pitching has not been good 502 ER is the fourth fourth worst over the last week low Logan web Boston got to him Philly got to him Logan web’s a guy we’re counting on I believe we didn’t get five innings out of either Logan web starts so Logan webs got a click look Now’s the Time the Giants if they lose this game are looking at a 15 and 20 record in a one in five week it’s time to start showing that you can play good baseball we’re going to very soon get to a point where it’s not early anymore got to show that you can play good baseball and it’s getting to be that point and some of these teams San Francisco Arizona Toronto they’re not showing that they can play good well-rounded baseball in all three facets pitching hitting and defense so things have to come around San Francisco needs to get this win against the Phillies to salvage the week and try to have something to build upon heading into a new week again remember everybody our
