[Music] yesterday was a long day but a great day of golf here in Singapore it’s Championship Sunday here at the beautiful santosa Golf Club Brooks kka in good form and leads the IND idual leaderboard and his team smash GC is at the top of the team leaderboard the scoreboard is packed today who will be crowned Victorious only time will tell welcome to Club 54 pre-round show I’m your host Christian Crosby and joining me is my best friend forever forever Jerry fultz Jerry what’s up how you feeling today I’m feeling good I think we’re all a little tired didn’t get a lot of sleep but I can’t tell you how much I enjoy doing this with you each and every day this is so much fun to be able to start the coverage right here and set up the day Jerry that might have been the nicest thing you ever said to me and there’s not many to choose from now we had some extreme weather yesterday which laid us about four and a half hours but then we finally had some amazing golf now that you’ve had some sleep I hope you had some breakfast today yeah uh day two Reflections give us a good recap jry well Dom said it in the post round show yesterday one of the stars of yesterday’s show was the golf course to get 2.2 Ines of rain and be able ready to play two hours later Andy Johnson the guy who runs the show around here at Sentosa said today you get to see why we’re so good he was he was very proud of his course proud of his his facility and proud of his team this course held up immaculately and the players took advantage of the soft conditions playing lift clean in place the greens a little slower Dart golf wherever it landed it stayed it was pretty awesome and nobody Struck it better T green than Brooks kepa leading by three shots you know the the winner this year in five of six Tournaments has been the leader after two rounds and none of those times has that leader been named Brooks kka one of the most decorated players out here one of the guys who has a reputation for hardest to catch uh looking forward to seeing how today on Rivals but first I want to ask you have you gotten any weather updates for today yes Jacob swick our resident meteorologist on loan from Thor guard the company that provides that information with us the guys is Good As It Gets he’s in a in a part of the world where it’s the hardest place on Earth to predict weather but today much Rosier than yesterday even though yesterday it didn’t look that bad till it settled in on top of us then we were doomed for a while uh he was spot on on when it would clear up and he’s given us a really good chance today of getting this done without interruption well this is uh a big day for this guy named Brooks Kea who had an amazing week as you’ve said let’s talk about it some more suan yesterday said he got his Swagger back and you agreed on the main show let’s talk about the Swagger Jerry Swagger you know he’s a very intimidating player I think he feels at times he might be Invincible he wants everybody else to feel he’s Invincible because that’s the way he carries himself and that’s the way he answers questions in the in the post round conferences and he hits shots like this that other players would either try and Loft it over the trees for a layup go around it for a layup two days in a row he went through those palm trees he said in his press conference afterwards there’s more room than there than people think and I think he’s absolutely nuts he saw where he needed to hit it and didn’t see what could go wrong that was a birdie on four then the birdie there at six and then this one which you know he’s been burning the edges burning the edges burning the edges this a 13 this might have gone to the edge of the green had it not hit the hole but that didn’t burn the edge that has been the not only has the ball striking come around and he relates it all back to that but he’s making more putts he feels better about the game T green but the real difference has been the flat stick and then of course uh you can make that with your left shoe right there and here’s another one second on 16 dialed in on 16 yet again this did not play as the easiest hole on the course with a very tucked whole location and rolls it down there to another one of those missable length putts that he didn’t miss and his uh press conference uh he was asked if he likes playing in the heat uh considering he’s won twice in Jetta his response was I don’t really care as long as I win exactly which I love that answer can you talk about his uh athlete mentality that he seems to have he you know well he looks like an athlete obviously he’s strong as a bull he’s he’s got that Swagger I love the way he carries himself I love how smart he is with the media because he gives him just enough for them to speculate about things and he’s always in control he’s always in control of his answers of his message of his brand if you will and he’s in control of this team Smash and that is a huge thing he is so involved in the day-to-day organization and growth of that brand it’s really remarkable you wouldn’t think that about him but he’s really really really sophisticated with his approach to the team a fan says my money is on Brooks kepco who you got live broadcast uh should we jump into that now or we’ll wait a little bit later let’s talk smash first Jerry uh smash GC uh it seems like these guys line up so well with this course which is obvious let’s talk about it Jerry yeah you know you know talked about the analytics leading in that are provided to us by our friends at Champions data and they were the front runner favorite it’s held true now they also had Crusher as a second favorite and they’re down toward the bottom so the computer’s not always right but smash is really good today smash is going to it’s all four scores count so then your weak link gets exposed now they added a new player this year signed the free agent in grad mcdell he was brought in primarily for days like today he did it in Vegas shooting 65 the star of the show for team smash then it’s going to be important for him today because he shot two over yesterday and according to his caddy Ken comboy he played really really well he’s playing really really well and not getting anything out of it but Brooks believes in him he’s a major Champion he knows he’s got hard he knows he’s got fire and he knows he can get it done when they need him most and today they need him well smash GC are leading here in Singapore and Brooks kept his hard work in the off season has clearly paid off for me I think I think it’s what we expected we were looking to make this team as good as it possibly can Brooks keer has recruited last year’s individual winner Taylor G as part of Team smash for 2024 the camaraderie is great I mean we all are like binded and you know we want to win obviously I Taylor was a huge thing and GMAC bringing in the experience and what a master stroke signing grey McD could prove to be for Brooks K you know coming to A Team like smash with the G Brooks cop on it terer g off the back of three wins and you know Jason KRA a well decorated players expectation levels are there for GM to play as well as he did in Sunday Vegas huge confidence boost right now you get the rest of the year smash won the team title the celebrations in full flow kind of fun to see all those guys climb the leaderboard it was a good time to quote unquote hit the jackpot you put guys in the right team surround him with the right people they can play some good golf that was smash GC leading 23 under currently here’s a team leaderboard uh one shot above Ripper GC who did phenomenal at the end of day two take me through this leaderboard Jerry well there’s a note on Ripper GC Christian Ripper GC has the number one ranked number two ranked number sixth ranked and number 15th ranked Putters in the field this week to get two guys in the top five is remarkable your team chances go way up they got four of the best Putters in the field all playing well for them now the difference being this course is more as relies as much on ball striking accuracy as it does on putting it’s not a putting contest but if they find the greens in regulation today Ripper the team that I look for to come back and they’re not really behind they’re one shot behind you could go all the way down to Stinger at 14 under even farther than that Crushers 13 Tor K who I picked beginning of the week almost anybody’s alive with four strokes County but you have to have all four guys clicking today to make a run I asked you at the end of our post round show yesterday uh and I’m going to ask you now again that you’ve had some rest potential team playoff today uh you know what it that leaderboard looks like it but I’m going to say like I did last week there’s no chance of a playoff because we all love the playoffs and as long as I don’t jinx it we have a better chance so it would be awesome to have one here on this golf course uh it would be phenomenal uh now we’re looking at these guys on a range right now team I want to talk about Ripper GC uh seemed seemed like there just capitalizing off of that momentum from Adelaide uh Mark leechman specifically looked phenomenal yesterday talk about this team Jerry yes no again again they all putting well but Mark leean is playing phenomenally he’s not you know completely on top of the ball striking but really in his career even though he’s got what three PGA Tour wins maybe more than that um he’s the the ball striking hasn’t got it done it’s his ability to score and they’re all scoring very well this week uh they’ Got Confidence the highest confidence they’ve ever had after coming from behind or not behind holding on to their lead then extending the playoff when it looked for all likelihood they were dead in the water on the first playoff hole and getting it done in front of that home crowd that energy they’re still feeling it it was the most incredible event most of those guys say they’ve ever been a part of they came out victorious in front of the Home Country and it was a moment they’ll never forget and I know we’ll never forget yeah I’m they’re I’m crediting them for my first shouey ever so how about that with you Jerry but not your last not your last all right our David far has forgotten more memorable Sundays on the golf course than most of us will ever see but even he agrees day three in Adelaide was something else welcome to Singapore where this correspondent is sweating like a pregnant nun but you we have a pretty cool job here in the live golf league if you like golf but every now and then something truly special comes our way like it did last week in Adelaide this was a tournament that even your granny could enjoy and apparently she did although at least one of those Granny’s needed a [Applause] shave while Brandon steel was holding off a worldclass field for an individual win the team event turned into a drunk yard sale everything must go with a mob of interested buyers so many in fact that we saw 15 League changes five different teams in first place and Uncle Phil throwing a fat lady at the scoreboard what is happening David that would be an eight but even that wasn’t the craziest part of the day after taking the o masses on an emotional roller coaster and jumping over tqu High Flyers and iron heads Ripper built a commanding lead to reward the home crowan that might be the killer blow for Ripper GC but have I mentioned Stinger GC no I have not because with three holes to play they were six back and our computer which runs its algorithm 10,000 times spat out a 97% chance that they would lose but then Lou Tas bird 18 and over on the 10th Brandon Grace makes Eagle then Dean Burmeister birdie 17 Louie makes another one on the first which was his last and charl bloody schwartzel makes a birdie from off the green somewhere I don’t know where but with one hold the play Stinger had made up three shots Stinger have just performed heroics in the late stages and our computer had exploded and then there was the playoff which saw Ridder cup level pressure team versus Team country versus country Mist putts clutch putts and Australian fandemonium that would make Men at Work proud well this one was for all the haters out there if you hated this you’re probably a communist that might have been my favorite favorite WTF so far they’re all good he’s got an incredible sense of humor to say the least all right the live golf podcast Fairway to Heaven drops each week featuring in-depth conversations with the players in the Golf League this week you Jerry and suan hang caught up with Adrien Moran I mean obviously you’re 6’6 athletic as we’ve seen in his stretching routine incredible how did you gravitate toward golf when you physically had an easier path to other sports yeah so golf was in our family since I remember my father always played he used to be a professional volleyball player so he kind of looked for a sport that he could you know play after after the career and that was golf so since I remember like every family vacation was going to Spain to play some golf and stuff like that so I I picked it up quite early like when I was six or seven and I really enjoyed it to be honest if I didn’t play golf I probably would be volleyball player or basketball player might be a little bit too short these days but I I was really enjoying um volleyball and football as well as quite a good goalie but at some point at some point I know I got annoyed with team sports you know when someone just didn’t pass me the ball I kind of wanted to control you know my own own this Destiny and my own like um stuff when I play so that’s why I kind of went towards Golf and when I was 14 or 15 I uh kind of focused more on golf uh started going abroad to like you know junior tournaments um with Polish national team and stuff like that and I started enjoy enjoying the process of training and the tournaments and competition yeah that’s that’s how it started for for Real uh make sure you guys scan that QR code Fairway to having the best podcast in golf I’m saying it Jerry and we encourage the viewers to chime in send his questions send us comments call me names whatever you want it’s a lot of fun all right let’s talk about some of the contenders for our Championship Sunday uh two names that come to mind Taylor G Matthew wolf who we see out here on the the range right now with the range goats which these two have an interesting uh tie in together intering interesting storyline but talk to me about Matthew wolf Matthew wolf has as Dom said yesterday as much talent as anybody he’s ever seen and you know what every player in the field would say the same thing obviously he’s in a better place this year playing for for Bubba Watson and the range goats you know he’s he’s been very very upfront about his his uh mental health issues in the past and it’s not nothing to be taken lightly but he’s such a nice quality young man he hits the ball forever he’s got so much talent it’s ridiculous but he’s a very streaky player here’s some highlights from Matthew W yeah and when he’s on a bad streak as we watch this third shot at 18 when he’s on a bad streak he gets very down on himself when he’s on a good streak he’s his own best friend out there and right now he’s being his own own best friend because he is feeling it he’s got everything about his golf game is based on timing you see the body constantly in motion before putting before every full swing it’s all based on timing and he’s got it synced in you know the bio rhythms are in the right place this week for Matthew wolf and he is not afraid of the moment he won on the PJ tour is one of the youngest players ever to win on the PJ tour he hasn’t been that form nearly one a major the same year he hasn’t had that form really at that level since he’s starting to get a back we’re all rooting for him he can definitely catch uh catch Brooks kka a day and remember last year there was a little bit of a public uh disagreement amongst the ranks in team smash even though Brooks really didn’t comment on it that much yesterday they’re they’re both like we’re professionals we get along we’re both in better places now our teams are in better places now I’m going to go out and try and beat him but he knows Brooks is going to be tough to beat and social’s talking about it too Jerry great to have play underway you guys have given me a hall pass to get me out of shopping love it Lonesome train go Wolfie gotta love that Matt wolf when he beats Brooks in a playoff tomorrow how about this that’s uh that’s a good one right there welcome to live golf that’s the element we bring to the golf ecosystem that other golf doesn’t that just that little interpersonal rivalry team rivalries and you see the soccer player celebrating s well I I got to bring up the individual champion of last year tayor Taylor gor let’s let’s have a brief talk about t cuz I know you got to leave soon yeah what do you think we’ll see will history repeat itself he’s got a great chance he’s Steely and he’s as accurate as they get and he’s starting to really find that golf swing as well Taylor gu won here last year Brooks kka third Taylor Brooks won in Andalucia Brooks kka third they have a kind of a union together at the top one of Brooks kepa’s wins in Jetta it was Taylor Gucci finished I think it was second or third last year but he ended up getting the individual season long title by virtue of doing that those two are tied together at the hip now their teammates now they want to go out and beat each other today because if they play well enough to beat the other guy they know they’re going to help the team even more that’s what’s going to make them so dangerous today all right well let’s talk about the contenders for team smash GC uh one that I I wasn’t sure see yesterday do so well Ripper GC just we talked a little bit about them earlier I want to do a deeper dive on his team here are the highlights Mark leean is leading the field in pting this week and it’s no surprise because he just made those routinely that was for birdie at number one he goes on get at number five to make another midlength but you make about 10 15% of these making him routinely uh but he also has his captain who is the best putter that’s ever walked the face of the Earth according to the team and many many fans this guy’s so gifted he’s sixth in putting this week he’s having a bad week on the greens but he’s finding the uh he’s actually striking the ball a lot better and keeping the driver in play more all the players on that team are all great Putters and they Rave most about this guy Lucas Herbert and how gifted he is with the flat stick these are birdies on 15 and 17 for Ripper and uh it’s just an amazing amazing amazing uh combination of talents that Ripper brings to the course hearing you talk about Ripper GC you get me all fired up I know and you don’t need much help you got you’re high octave uh it’ll be a lot of fun to see them today but Jerry yesterday in the main show there was a moment that I I just will never forget what that uh you know sometimes we fly high sometimes we fly low and Arlo white was flying very low yesterday uh there was a little uh malfunction uh with his zipper during the show nothing to see here uh here’s the moment when here’s the moment when he realized here a smooth a smooth transition there as he uh realized a very small issue we didn’t notice yeah you said that on the show yesterday too which was pretty funny uh I I love that you guys are able to make fun of yourselves on the show there he he’s the one once he was told in his ear that that happened he’s the one who brought it to the attention of the viewer who might not have even noticed we had yes of course now every short Cut’s going to be called in Arlo yeah that was great speaking of Arlo let’s toss it over to Arlo and David now at the booth check it in boys early alarm calls all around Christian for the early start today I think David everyone just delighted we got 18 holes in yesterday after what was a deluge for about four or five hours and the coures you can see in the background in perfect condition because of the drainage system here so should be another exciting Championship Sunday um subplots of Plenty Brooks kka Matthew wolf former teammates they didn’t see eye to eye Brooks insists that there’s no ill feeling but both of them surely would be motivated to beat the other today on Championship Sunday I think so and I think it’s to Matt Wolf’s uh advantage that he’s not playing with Brooks um you know they say both men would say ah it’s no big deal or whatever but there is there’s some there’s a little animosity there and uh in that final group we’ve got Peters and uh with Brooks instead and and that’s kind of Europe versus the USA so I mean there’s a lot of stuff going on there sure is and in the team competition as well it’s Brooks’s smash GC who lead the way Matthew wolf and his range goats trying to defend their Singapore title and don’t rule out Taylor gu as well he’s performed heroics here in the past it should be another fantastic Championship Sunday Christian back to [Music] you uh big thanks Arlo David that was great this golf course is one of the most stunning on the live golf schedule and it’s one the players [Music] respect well Sentosa golf club is just a very solid Golf Course is is the kind of golf course that uh you have to be very precise it’s quite unique he plays longer than he really will seem in the scoreboard the most challenging is the Heat and being able to keep your focus once you kind of lose lose the focus and you get you know exhausted from the Heat and then your game will start tanking the next biggest thing is is the t- ball the rough is going to be difficult to control to spin yesterday I was just dropped a couple balls in the rough to see what it’s like and it’s brutal there’s a lot of Hazards and bunkers out there there’s probably four holes that you have to hit it really close to the water every single water hazard that you have on on the holes comes into play yeah bombers can’t head it all with the bunkers and Waters out here but they leave gaps so you try you cover the first bunker stay short of the second one that’s kind of your window that you’re heading into but if you don’t it’s very tricky it’s more about strategic done being aggressive or not [Music] aggressive this place is beautiful Golf Course is amazing the city’s amazing visually out here it’s unbelievable I mean it’s just Lush and green I mean I love this golf course it’s quickly become one of my favorites and is in pristine shape it’s a beautiful golf course if anybody has a chance to come here I think you should I don’t use this word a lot but it’s absolutely gorgeous here in Singapore he hit Fed Up by the best shot 10th t chunked a hybrid off the te now remember it’s a hybrid some kind of wedge chunked the hybrid left himself 210 yards to the flag opposed to 110 and had a 5 hour to 12 ft did they capitalize on the shot no but it was a nice four so it is worse follow up his best shot yeah love that Craig thank you so much you can always expect honest feedback from these guys now gu obviously one here last year Brooks is not here yet four scores counting Gat was on the cutting green last night we’ve got Coke crack warming up talking of the man himself here we go Glenn Brooks just arriving giving his team the knuckles he said his proximity has been so much better around the hole there’s Claude his coach get him ready Lehman In Contention one of the guys who followed him around with the camera said that he missed a few puts if he would have hold them he would have been absolutely charging this week so today could be the day tqu Legion 13 we’re going to run right down the end of the range Glenn can you keep up with me I’m far and ahead right I want to get to the range goats which oh let’s look at Abraham answer first he’s playing brilliantly again he’s already had a win this year but he’s looking for another one right here we go range goats we can see Thomas Peters in the distance him and Matt wolf are on the hunt today all playing together Peters has changed his driver got more spin wolf spoke to Gus his coach he said he’s absolutely ripping it Glenn get a closeup on them sun’s coming out Peter oine just behind him California boy absolutely striping it be chasing Brooks kka is Matthew wolf and it is great to see him playing really well this season something that he’s been doing so well this week is his medium approach shot he is so good with his stroke skin between 150 to 225 and that’s exactly what he needs to do today he’s also played so well on the par FES I think he’s leading in par five stats and he knows he needs to come out gun blazing to Chase someone like Brooks he does but uh you know uh suan there’s some names you see on the top of the leaderboard and you think he may F to but I’m afraid Brooks Ker’s name is not one of them and this year five of the six winners have led from the front going into Sunday and uh not only is he swinging it beautifully his short game is on top of the world this week he is N9 for n in scrambling if anyone’s going to beat Brooks kkut today they’re going to have to go really really low big thanks to Dom and suan looking forward to our Championship Sunday but here’s a reminder live go fantasy
