the left hand side of the green where the flag is today is super super far so Xander Cha’s been in there uh a while he’s disappeared from view again so I can see his caddy actually just standing tall and leaning on the golf bag with the patrons just behind him Eric Cole playing partner not I don’t think I’ve seen anybody go there that wide left not as wide as that not as wide as that I mean quite often the layup here Mark is down the left hand side just to give you more UPS slope to hit into when the pin is on the left hand side of the green but when you go as far left as this uh it actually makes the approach far trickier so we are looking across the the heads um of a hundred or so hundreds of Spectators in the 15th grand stand schofl has now played that shot I can see one ball at the front of the green but that’s Eric Kohl’s but I can’t see sh oh it’s in the shadows it’s in the shadows at the back of the green so he’s just through the back of the 15th Green in three and now he’s got a really quick chip across the back of the Green from right to left towards us uh let’s just tid you at what the Australian cam Smith did around a main Corner former open champion of course he’s he’s on the 13th now so he’s through Amen Corner cat no problems for cam Smith pars at both the par 4 11th and the par 31 12th so he gets through Amen Corner unscathed just watching Tommy Fleetwood who had a 25 footer or so up the hill for a birdie that would move him into the red figures he was uh fallen off the leaderboard he was was up there for a while wasn’t he over the first couple of days but at level par Tommy Fleetwood walking towards me up the hill towards the 12th T box with his right hand nonchalant tucked into the pocket of his dark trousers blue t-shirt white cap and a lovely warm reception for the Englishman with that long brown hair peeking out from underneath the white cow let’s uh find out if there’s a bit more tiger Magic on 16 one of tiger woods’ most famous ever Augusta birdies came on this scen 2005 the chip in that when up the slope and trickle back down into the hole this putt has to go left of the hole now turns to the right it’s very quick Tiger’s given that a right old Biff and it’s gone a wee Way by and he’s nearly as they say degreened it he’s just kept it on the putting surface but he’s probably got 15 ft or so left for his part uh Ian Carter have you got eyes on any of the leading players I have indeed morawa has just putted from off the green on the 10th and left himself around about 5 6 ft to save his PA meanwhile on the ninth Bryson Des sha Bo is putting from off the green he missed the green to the right playing partner Max Homer hit a wonderful approach into this par 4 ninth and he’s going to have a birdie attempt from around about the 10 ft mark this is a putt all day long even though it’s substantially off the green isn’t it uh Andrew yeah as tight as the this grasses around the greens you see these players putt most of these these shots is just too delicate too tight too tight to get that wedged blade just under it to clip it so not much green to work with here Bryson D Shambo got to get it on the green and let it just settle down and break left and it’s play too much break he’s going to have some work left to make his power on the ninth about five or six ft left yeah that’s not an easy cut from there um but nonetheless he touches the peak of his cap just to acknowledge the Applause the the crowd’s recognizing that was a delicate shot now Cam Davis in a spot a bother on the 10th because he went long and left and he’s not given the chip enough it gets to the top of the hill but not quite far enough and now comes miserably rolling back down the slope into the second cut so the rough area and so cam Smith uh Cam Davis I should say in a spot of bother there having played three shots on that par 41 here’s ludvig Oz’s second shot to the 11th cat I don’t know if you can see can that has landed on the putting surface yeah really good right in the heart of the Green from ludvig oer and he must have cut the corner slightly across that silky black water to the left hand side because he’s found the back left hand portion the green cut uh the I should say cut in the front right hand portion of the green back right hand portion and and he’s in the shadow of the pine tree so he’s got a birdy part of about 35 ft or so for Ludo be for a birdie that would move him within the shot of the lead and matchu pavan’s ball just flying out of the blue sky and splashing down into that little kidney shaped Pond to the front left of the 11th in ninth green Max Homer for a share of the lead cutting down the slope borrowing from left to right and turning just too far swinging across the front of the hole and so that chance goes a begging but dambo is going to be putting from a SAR spot with a similar break he’ll have leared a little from it but it illustrates just how tricky it is that putt across the back of the ninth so it’s a path for Homer and he goes to the turn in a level PA 36 nine straight pars and he remains exactly where he started at six underpar and that is one shot off the lead held by Scotty Sheffer as we now consider Colin morawa on the 10th to save his par from 5T over it now really Vivid shadow cast by this afternoon sun and really composed stuff from the two times major champion and he knocked that in for his par to remain at 6 under and just one shot off the lead fantastic leaderboard here for the 88th Masters now can Bryson to sha boo remain within a shot of the lead this is a real tester Andrew yeah this is um this is what you don’t want you don’t want to have to make this many cuz you’re going to miss some here at Augusta National this is a hard left to right putt this green is just a serious slope there’s no flat putts on number nine it sits up high close to the clubhouse um this one is about a 3 cup left to right break let’s see if he can stay steady I know I know I didn’t like these putts left to right right-hander is like right to left putts the hook putts this is a cut putt oh turn it didn’t turn he set it out to the left of the hole and it remained pretty much dead straight so it’s a bogey five for Des Shambo and the LIF golfer slips back to five under par Two Shots off the lead and that means that he falls from a share of second place to a share of fifth place with ludvig Ober we have uh two European Ridder Cup players in front of us here on uh 15 Matt Fitzpatrick was going well yesterday in fact until he got to this hole and then he went in the water here and that just seemed to affect him for the rest of his round he comes down here level par alongside sep Str he and caddy Billy Foster seem to have made it up a little because they are they are walking down the right hand side of the 15th here so they’re going to uh walk past the water on the right of it not using the sarzen bridge which is just below the ground stand that we’re standing in uh standing like Scotty sheffer’s in a spot of bother in so news of the leader and that is Scotty Sheffer who hit a monstrous dive drive down the 10th but has completely overcooked his approach and it has careered through the back of the green down into the pin straw so very difficult up and down coming for Scotty Sheffer the leader currently at seven under par uh let’s go to one of the men on the leaderboard who’s on five under and that’s the swed ludic erber and he’s with cap yeah and a chance to move to within a shot of the lead of Scotty Sheffer seven underpar the world number one five under par ludvig oer the 23-year-old Swede making his major championship debut not just his master’s debut and this one coming out of the Shadows back down the slope of the green towards the flag about what’ you say 30 ft Trish yeah I think so it’s going to be a fairly Swift punt it’s going to have a lot of left to right break on it but again you know this is is the toughest hole on the golf course pretty much every day 18 sometimes can be but he’s just H absolutely nailed it straight into the middle of the green the fell is unbelievable I got to be honest he’s one of my favorite players I didn’t actually last year know pretty much anything about him and all of a sudden he goes to switzland wins and plays rder cup and is without doubt the next superstar in the making Trish cringing away from an enormous wasp size of a a small bird that with one of those really long legs and the really pointy body terrifying looking thing just about got the end of her sentence out before she had to dive make take evasive action before she was dive Bor by that enormous insect so ludvig oer with a a sky blue t-shirt that matches the heavens above him here on Amen Corner crouching down in the dappled shade cast by those three pine trees that separate the 11th Green from the the stretch of grass that takes you down towards the 12th green and uh just running through his preot routine here wiping the blade of his poter on the palm of his hand now settling behind the ball 25 ft or so then for birdie here for the swed that would take him up to within a shot of the lead looking good as it tracks down towards the hole he’s already wiping his uh hand the back of his hand across his mouth didn’t quite get that one right Trish it’s run on by about 3 ft or so yeah he over borrowed that hit it too hard through the break and I think he’s probably got more like four and a half five feet coming back up the hill there but uh I mean aggressive but never really got the pace or the line correct and one of those split screen moments here at aen corner Mark where you kind of keep need to keep your eyes going in different directions Tommy Fleetwood had put his t-shot on the 12th to have been about 5 feet for his birdie but I’ve just seen him walk up and nonchalant tap a ball into the hole which would suggest that that five-footer did not drop for him so Tommy Fleetwood will stay on level par with o 3 ft of or so of work to do for his his par here on the 11th Mark and Matt F Patrick will have work here to do for his par he’s gone past the flag he’s got an uphill putt coming that’s maybe 7 8 10 ft uh Ian Carter watching the leader Scotty Sheffer in amongst the bushes chipping from off the pine straw up the bank news of Cam Davis by the way I was telling you he was in trouble racked up a double bogey six so he has slipped back to three under par this is really really difficult for Sheffer Here Andrew um yes he completely over clubbed there what a terrible mistake from the world number one that’s something we don’t usually see him do he’s just Dynamite with his distance control with his irons uh a bit of a break in between two bushes so he does have a back swing at least and he can make contact with this ball but it’s on the pine straw sitting down in the pine straw falls on its way good chop out there but it’s just got plenty of juice all the way down to the front of the green it looks like he has got a long 4550 footer is still creeping down to the front of the green left for par on number 10 it was as though he was looking to play the ball into the bank but he air mailed it so a massive put coming for par for Sheffer cat pop up for ludig oer drops into the hole and he bends down to pick the ball out the white fingers of his golf club because he took it off to putt of course poking up towards the sky here at Amen Corner it’s a par for ludvic oer that will keep him at five under par two off the lead and the leaderboard swings around those two names on Saturday at the Masters and we know that we’ve got Cam Davis and Colin morawa approaching down the hill on the 11th maawa at six under par one off the lead Cam Davis the Australian at three under par so also in the mix and ludvig oer walking up the hill to the 12th t- box and receiving the warm adulations of the crowd he’s really enjoying his first Master’s experience and why shouldn’t he Trish yeah I mean he like I say he he’s everything about him is just uh top class and do you know what I love about him more than anything else God he plays so quickly he’s an absolute breath of fresher kind of changing of the guards on that front isn’t there here these young players that come through play quite quickly we’ve seen quite a few of those I can name a couple but I tell you what I can name some slow ones too we saw Matt Fitzpatrick making quick work of Amen Corner he’s a a fast player lud goar now standing surveying the scene here on 12 both Flags unusually at Amen Corner hanging limp not a breath of wind down here as uh Sunshine diamonds flash off the water of Ray Creek in the distance there’s a a red Haze over the scene as well where the red dust Pathways behind the grand stands here have kicked up a cloud of dust and that is drifting down over the heads of the patrons and on towards the water which looks dark and viscous like a slick of oil in front of the green and then those white sand bunkers the yellow flag and the bank of of plants and shrubs the big pine trees behind and ludig goar now preparing to take on the 146 yards that it’s playing now on this Saturday of the 88th Masters the ball is in the air flying towards the flag looked like it was going right at it but just drifting out to the left hand side at the last moment and there’s a a roset red maple tree leaning at a slight angle on that left hand side and ludvig ob’s ball has run beneath that and into the Shadows to the back left of the green on 12 yeah not one of his best but uh a fairly straightforward up and down as long as he’s got a half decent lie and here’s mat pavon who’s uh struggling a bit found the water on the 11th the Frenchman had to go from the Drop Zones looking to bounce back here he’s got a aquamarine colored t-shirt on long sleeves protruding from beneath that it is boiling hot when the sun breaks through the Shadow from the pine trees overhead it’s singing my right forearm at the moment as it’s found a little Gap and Matthew paval has slipped through the back of the green there and he’s just nestling up into the pine straw to the back left hand side of the 12th no sign yet of the balls of Cam Davis iack there is one ball on the green so one of Cam Davis or Colin morawa has already found the putting surface Mark and we’ll await the next ball arriving in the next couple of seconds I should think uh okay thank you thank you very much in car should we just do a quick leaderboard Scotty Sheffer currently at the top of the leaderboard at seven underpar but with a very very long par to come at the 10th indeed here it is and he gives it a firm wrap through the Shadows of the Tall Pines borrowing from right to left this looks very good but it just swings a fraction too much wonderful putt nonetheless from long range from Scotty Sheffer and he will make a bogy five it threatened the whole didn’t it Andrew it swung from right to left and just shaved the left Edge incredible I thought he was going to miss it high then he missed it low that’s how much it broke probably 6 feet right to left he was bending the knees willing it to drop so it’s seven underpar he will drop to six underpar and Nikolai hoard with his birdie at the 10th is the new leader at seven underpar hoard playing his second shot now to the 11th and that looks on a very very good line for the Dane lands on the front edge of the green cat and that is very nicely played Into the Heart of the putting surface sorry that was morawa now we’ve got major problems here on the shirt colors I have to say but it was morawa who hit a really really nice shot uh and hoard um I’ve given the game away here because from long range at the 10th he has hold and that’s why oh wow what a putt that was as well well borrowing from right to left I was a little taken back when I looked at my monitor which is ahead of the pictures that we’re watching but that’s three birdies in a row for Nikolai hoard he is your leader of the Masters official now seven underpar Shefler back to five underpar uh he’s been credited actually with a double bogey six so he may have missed that very short putt goodness gracious me it’s all Happening Here Mark um but as it stands at the moment we have Hy at 7 under morar at 6 under Homer at 6 under Oar at 5 under and Sheffer at 5 under par and I can only think that he has missed that very short Putt and uh I’m just looking now at images of it it’s only a couple of feet and it hit the right edge of the hole and Horseshoe round so a three double bogey from Scotty Sheffer which has thrown this Master’s wide open the world number one back to a share of fourth place having left the first the 10th T in the lead he is back to 5 under hoard with his extraordinary birdie is out in front at 7 under it is all happening here and it will all happen uninterrupted on Sports extra uh from now on this evening as the news takes over here on five live at just after 10:00 and so we’re here uninterrupted on Sports extra continue our coverage of the third round of the 88th Masters and Trish Johnson that’s how quickly these things can switch around yeah incredible isn’t it you would not expect that from Sheffer he missed a little tidler yesterday as well as he putted and as good as his short game was yesterday but he uh he just is a little bit susceptible to the two three Footers isn’t he and that will have put a massive shock through and I know there was a big gasp here at the back of the 11th and the uh the patrons then looking at the scoreboard when it turned from a seven to a five massive gasp so mind you I look at that scoreboard and I just think it’s fabulous isn’t it it really is uh John Murray watching Tiger Woods and Terrell Hatton Tiger Woods Tiger Woods now Mark is 10 overp par for his round today he’s just picked up another bogey here at the 17th he missed from 6 feet so he is now 11 over for the tournament Terell Hatton very nearly hold a very good birdie put it just missed on the right hand side so Turell Hatton remains one over uh let me also mention Brooks kka who’s just come through here uh before woods and Hatton Brooks kka is five over for the tournament so the much fancy Brooks capka it looks as though it won’t be his year for the green jacket and also Mark uh his playing partner Taylor mua a magnificent piece of Club throwing after his approach shot went over the back of the green he hurled his iron back down the Fairway and it went spiraling end over end the shaft glinting in the sunshine I’m sure that’ll strike a cord with with some people God I know how he feels uh let’s go to cat call him a cower it’s a kind of salmon pink shirt and navy trousers standing on the green on the 11th with about 35 ft for his birdie just coming up a little bit short and borrowing round to the left hand side so morawa won’t pick up another shot and pull level with Nikolai hyar here on 11 meanwhile up ahead at the 12th ludig oer took you through his t- shot a little bit earlier he found the Shadows down the left hand side long of the par three and he decided to take the poter out of that little Lee that little Hollow to the left hand side and completely misjudged it um Trish he’s got a good you know 15t or so to go back to save his pie could drop a shot here yeah he could the only saving grace he’s got is he’s going pretty much straight back up the hill he might have a little bit of right to left on it but he can be fairly aggressive with it that was a real misjudgment I’m surprised in the way that he puted it he had a lot of ground to go over would have maybe have been a more sensible um Chip Shot but anyway he’s got yeah all of 10 12 ft here cat and uh it’s a fairly straight forward put but needs to hold it yeah he’s well over six foot luig o casting a long Shadow here sending the ball on its way towards hole and it’s gone in would you believe it fantastic I mean he hold a good putt on 11 and he’s just holding twice the length on 12 putting is fantastic meanwhile Cam Davis oh just horseshoes out for the Australian for a birdie that would have taken him to four under par and to within three of the lead but just a couple of inches a light tap with the back of the Putter and then it goes for the Australian in his lilac shirt he Lopes off the green on the 11th and up towards the 12th uh T could really have been something that ignited his round for the Australian there but failed to drop for him and now morawa with about 2 and 1/2 ft or so to save his part for the two-time major Champion will it go in Caddy just leaning casually on the long yellow flag stick he wasn’t even looking as Colin morawa tied is up there for his par he stays at six under one off the lead of Nikolai Hyer after that double bogey on the 10th for the world number one Scotty Sheffer which as Trish mentioned Mark elicited an audible gasp from the thousands of people crammed into the stands here on Amen Corner uh and we’re waiting for Max Homer and Bryson D Shambo on the 10th uh as well which caused Scotty Sheffer so many problems also caused Cam Davis problems as well he dropped two shots on that hold did the Australian to go from five under to three under Ali what have you spotted well just going to make mention of Matt Fitzpatrick who we’ve had in front of us for the last 15 minutes or so he was quite a long way back on the par five 15th we’re not quite sure what happened with his Drive in his second shot but he but he came in with his disturb from quite a long way back just went through the back of the 15th green and had that very slippery one right to left right across the left hand side of the green left himself about maybe eight or n ft and hold that for the par he’s just par the par 31 16th as well so Matt Fitzpatrick stays level par for this tournament and he’s got two hes to play I think I heard cat mention t-shots on 12 which I’m assuming is Mara carwa is it it is sorry Mark I thought I was talking to uh our production desk out of uh out of audible range but uh not didn’t mean to mutter in your ear there but yes color Cawa standing with his hand on the top of his golf bag as various caddies do their their routine here on the 12th trying to work out the wind and some interesting arm gestures going on here Trish they think it’s coming in from left to right yeah I think so and I think alist would be interested I think he would call that the single teapot yes it’s a single teapot from Colin Mora just the one hand on his hip the other fiddling slightly with the tow that’s protruding from the top of his golf bag and interestingly both Flags there on the 12th and on the 11th as they so often do here at Amen Corner going in different directions now the wind has swung around to point in the same direction col Mora just putting his TEEG in the ground here Ian quick update from you Bryson Des Shambo on the 10th knocking in a birdie putt capitalizing on a brilliant approach shot and that gets him to six underpar H holding from just 6 ft there with the minimum of fuss I can tell you that Nikolai hyar the Danish leader on debut here at the Masters has found the Fairway on the 11th Shefler is trying to do that as well but this one swinging a little to the left but very very nicely indeed into the Fairway and he will be hitting from a very nice position in the left third of the Fairway for his second shot that double bogey there was his only his fifth double bogey in 370 holes for Scotty Sheffer just so so so consistent did you have that stacked at your fingertips I did the moment it came up on a caption Andrew McGee just just put into context what Nikolai Huard and L Herber are doing at the moment I mean I I hate to say this again and again but I I think that that’s why I deliberately came to you let watch Max home just this in on number 10 for par all pars for maxom that’s 10 straight pars that’s pretty lovely goo s the I I’m just I’m just so thinking about that rder cup again these these two young men got so much confidence um from from the way they played there and they’re just continuing that play oberg is just smiling and and happy he’s the only one that I’ve seen smile like that after making those putts but uh Nikolai is just plotting right along beautifully he and uh let’s see how he handles this lead this is a different thing now now that he’s leading let’s see and that’s what that was going to be my next question to both you and Trish and Trish you go first does it does it change for him now in in the space of one hole he’s gone from behind to the lead well he’s not used to this position there’s no two ways about that he’s suddenly leading the Masters it’s just a case of trying to put that out of your mind and just carry on with your game and play you know the end of this third round there’s so much golf to go that really if he starts thinking about the fact that he’s leading it’ll all go very pair shaped very quickly so this is just a case of he’s got off to a fantastic start the third day and now he just has to focus on keeping his game don’t look at anybody else don’t look at the leaderboard for now tomorrow is a different day let’s just get in at a number that you know he’ll be very very very happy with um so if you’re listening on five live you’re now back with us um so welcome back uh it’s uninterrupted on Sports extra Nicolai hoard is the leader on seven under with Bryson Des Shambo who’s just birded 10 on six Max Homer on six under Colin marawa on six under and then you’ve got Scotty Sheffer who double bogy 10 to drop to 5 under Ludi AAR the swed is also on 5 under cat yeah really busy down here at Amen Corner it’s one of those moments at the Masters particularly on a Saturday Moving Day At A major championship where all the best in the world are just laid out in front of you have got Sheffer Scotty Sheffer already on the uh potting surface marching around looking at where his Landing zone is going to be he’s come up just short of the green on the 11th to the right hand side and then Nikolai hyar and I could understand why Ian Carter had a bit of a trouble picking out hyar from Mora they’re wearing exactly the same shirt Colin morawa away in the distance in that salmon pink and navy blue Nicolai haar in the foreground for me now just standing with a little wedge in his hand about to bunt one up onto the green also wearing that salmon pink navy blue trousers and this one on a slight downhill Lie from the rise that comes up to the 12th T box and down towards green then he’s got to go up the hill again Trish yeah really difficult one to judge this he’s got about 40 ft of of just sheer grass before the green and then all of a sudden it goes onto a very very slick surface and it’s going to break considerably right to left he’s hit it and it’s bouncing with all kinds of liveliness up towards the flag and then Way Beyond drifting away into the shadow towards the back of the green by a good 25 30 ft for Nikolai haard came out hot yeah it certainly did I mean seriously if he hit 10 10 more shots there he couldn’t hit one outside that that’s about as poor a shot and he’s probably hit all day it wasn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination but it’s it’s a bit of a shocker pressure of the lead perhaps mhm yeah possibly but a horrible place to be Scotty Sheffer then he’s got his uh I think from here he’s got his uh what he got little wedge little wedge to chip up onto the front of the green at 11 and run the ball up towards the flag that comes up pin High to the left hand side about 10 ft or so from the flag meanwhile away in the distance Colin morawa that identic outfit to Nikolai hyar is potting from the back of the 12th and this looks good coming down the slope from that little Hollow through the back of the green beyond the pin and come to a rest about a foot a foot and a half or so from the pin so Colin morawa should make his part easily from there he’ll stay at under par he of course is a shot behind Nikolai hyar who’s at seven overpar but he could well drop a shot here Trish because this is a really tricky part coming across the Green from the Shadows into the sunshine on 11 yeah and obviously of you’ve just hit a bit of a shocker of a chip shot this isn’t easy at all you’re almost sort of trying to think right well whatever I do don’t drop Two Shots let’s not be too aggressive with this this is the puck we just saw uh ludvic uh oberg have about half an hour ago it’s down the hill it’s left to right but it doesn’t break as much left to right as the players think but it’s pretty nippy and I think if he just you know just has to take compose himself a little bit as you said cat you know suddenly looking up at that scoreboard you suddenly think good grief I’m in the lead at the Masters and that’s a very different feeling than he’s had for well in his entire career so far yeah big white scoreboard nestled into the bank of Magnolia it’s reflecting into that little kidney-shaped black Mirror Pond to the left of the green on the 11th mean over to the right just on the other side of the Hogan Bridge cam Davis the Australian is putting from about 5 foot for a birdie that would take him to four underpart three off the lead he’s got a lilac kind of purpley candy colored shirt on coming through his own shadow towards the hole oh and he raises the head of his putter towards the heavens his prayers not answered on Amen Corner that one goes gliding by he’ll stay at three under par and Nikolai haar now putting for his par oh it’s come up short Trish it’s going to be drop shot for the leader here and we’re back all square yeah pretty good effort actually it’s only come up about a foot short and uh yeah I think look if you’re going to drop a shot 11 is probably the hole that’s going to find you out he don’t want to go left and he had no intention of going left after he’s just gone into the lead dropped a shot here but he’s still banging contention so back to a four-way tie Ian Max Homer Bryson Des Shambo Nikolai hyar and Colin Mora on six under par at the top of the leader board on Saturday at the Masters and Bryson desan BAU and Max Homer have both hit their t-shots and found the fairways on 11 so as they walk down there they’ll be hitting into your sights cap very very shortly up on the 18th green brilliant scenes as Tiger Woods climbed up onto the putting surface he’s now putting for birdy from long range this one borrowing from right to left I tell you what it looks very good and it comes comes to rest right by the hall side and it hasn’t been Tiger Wood’s day today he has slipped to 11 overpar having started the day at one over so he Taps it in and that’s the end of Tiger Woods round an 82 but still rapturous Applause on the 18th cat double bogy for Scotty Sheffer at the 10th here he is looking to save his par again and he’s under pressure here on the 11th green Trish yeah he really is he’s got all of 8 ft it’s a fairly straight put it’s going to break a fraction left to right at the end but it’s uphill he can give it a little bit of a wrap he sets it off and he sets it off no and it’s missed on the right hand side three Drop shots in two holes for the world number one and that putter that has seen him dominate The World of Golf over the past few weeks those back-to-back wins on the PJ tour then a runner up a couple of weeks ago in Texas that was the Potter that everybody said is the danger club for him now he if he can putt even averagely he will destroy every field in which he participates but it looks like it’s gone stone cold for him over the past couple of holes and that’s a real worry for the world number one now Nikolai hyar just touching in the couple of inches that he needed so it’s a bogey for both here Sheffer and hyar slipping slightly on the leaderboard H hyar into a four-way tie for the lead and Sheffer now two off the lead at four underpar and I can’t can’t remember was it was it you I and Andrew who who were talking about putts from a certain distance for Scotty Sheffer and and and they’re not great distances either and that’s what’s caused him problems is that two on the truck now it is you know missing from short range as he did on the 10th was extraordinary because up to that point he had been looking very very assured from 10 ft and in but that is his Achilles heel and when things get to him in terms of the putting that’s when the rest of the the field gets an opportunity now I’m just just got my eyes on the 18th here mark because Terell Hatton had a three-footer I think for a par and the ball lipped out to such an extent that he had twice that distance if not three times that for the puck coming back and he’s missed it and he has double Bogi the last he’s absolutely Furious and it’s a 73 for tyell Hatton shaking hands with Tiger Woods you lip reading him well I I I better not to be honest um I just he’s not happy I just want to go back down 18 uh to the 18th T actually and and and what I’m actually I’m assim is and Shuff is already up 18 uh maybe waiting to play a second shot but John Murray you will you will have seen him pass 17 and probably tee off on 18 and he’s going to set a clubhouse lead here he is and he and he very nearly hold a spectacular long put diagonally across the 17th as well it only narrowly failed to drop so that was a par four for him to remain at two under par for the tournament so Xander chof is on the 18th now on two under and right now I’m just watching Matt Fitzpatrick who had a chance from 18 ft uh for a birdie but actually didn’t threaten the hole so I I think as long as he holds this short one he’ll remain at level PA of the tournament and uh and again doesn’t look in the best of sorts if you um double bogey 10 and then bogey 11 your knees might well be knocking on the 12th T cat yes and Nikolai hyar had well he backed off it once stepped back got the yardage book back out of his back pocket had a quick chat with his cadd Christian Christensen before sending the ball on the second attempt through the back of the green and into the Pines draw just nestling down to the back left and now Scotty Sheffer who also of course dropped a shot on the par 41 now looking to take on the most famous hole at Augusta National across the water Golden Bell looking golden in the sunshine Scotty sheth and the Lilac trousers the white slightly striped t-shirt white cap beard underneath rocking those shoulders that lovely metronomic balanced swing of the world number one and the ball on its way towards the green and just appearing in my eyesight on the back Edge just Clinging On so Scotty Sheffer and Ted Scott heading off down towards the Hogan Bridge okayish t- shots there Trish no fireworks from this group no this pin position is causing all sorts of problems it’s only on the front you know only five yards off of Front so no one wants to be pitching it short of this flag in case they spin it back into the water but the difficulty is on this whole cat is the fact that these two flags that you look at 11 and you look at 12 and even though they are at the same level they’re going in totally different directions that round of applause you can hear is for the ball Max homer which dropped Like a Stone from the blue Georgian sky and within 20 ft of the flag on the green at the 11th beautifully judged shot from Max Homer Bryson Des shba also on the green but he’s at the far left edge with the pin cut on towards the right from where I’m standing here Xander chof on the 18th remarkable shot from the trees down the right hand side getting the ball to land on the green couldn’t quite control it but he’ll be delighted with that outcome as the ball just runs through the back of the green but in pretty decent shape given the trouble he was in of the te here’s ludvig oer from just over 50 yards out on the 13th third shot to this pathy and it’s wonderfully controlled by the swed and he puts it to 4 and 1/2 ft birdie chance coming for OAR to take him to six under and put him in the Log Jam at the top of the leaderboard this uh this final pair Andrew McGee are playing an I know Bryson’s had a couple of Bogies and a couple of birdies but they are playing very very steady golf aren’t they yeah they really are it’s like we’re paying so much attention to Scotty sheffler and and uh colum morawa and Ober we’re kind of we’re kind of forgetting about the last group and if I go back to shff a little bit he very very loose round the only two birdies he did make on the front nine it was a long long chipping on the first hole from the way left to the green you know probably scuffed in up about a 60-footer and then on the third hole he made about a 40-footer so he’s had some chances he’s missed them all I mean eight and nine from 6 ft for birdies um and then of course the disaster on 10 and 11 so his short putting he just he just scared to death over short putts right now but how quickly things change because because Thursday him round he didn’t drop a shot did he how quickly things can change I mean that Mallet putter all of a sudden doesn’t look so good to him and and uh you know who knows maybe he’ll switch back to his other putter tomorrow but let’s see what he can do to finish this day off cuz it’s we haven’t seen him do this spiraling out of control Mark I can tell you ludvic obar has just tapped in for his Birdie on the 13th that takes the swed to six underpar and he is indeed in the Log Jam at the top six andar alongside Colin morawa Nikolai hyar and Max Homer and Bryson Des Shambo all at six under par and two clear of Scotty Sheffer at four under cat and Max Homer and Bryson Des Shambo have reached their balls on the 11th green both of them standing fairly close together as they discuss who’s to go first it’s going to be brys and Des Shambo whose ball is at the front edge of the green just about five or six Paces or so above the dark gloomy water of the pond and he’s on the edge of the Shadows cast by those Tall Pine trees and his light pink colored top gray trousers just crouching down behind the ball and uh he was in buoyant mood yesterday when he spoke to the Press he said he’s been really excited about showing off what he can do with the golf ball now yeah very much so I think he’s been in a really fine good mood this this week he’s obviously playing really well I tell you what his heart will have been in his mouth when he’s hit that second shot into 11 though because he’s only about two yards from the water and that is not the line I can guarantee you he has pulled that Almighty from where he was actually aiming and he just managed to creep onto the left hand side but he must have thought water was definitely lurking there well he said that he was going to come off the course yesterday and just maybe do a little bit of work before today’s third round on his lag putting and this is where he’s going to be tested here it’s about 30 35 ft or so from the hole maybe even a little bit more those rigid thick tree trunk Brown arms of Bryson Des Shambo with the Potter nestled into the crook of his left elbow the hands far down the shaft about halfway down the length of the Putter and then the swing of those broad shoulders sending the ball on its way he got quite a bit of speed on it trickling by by about 5T or so for brys and Des Shambo who said he was looking forward to going head-to-head with Scotty Sheffer first chance really for Bry and Des Shambo since signing for the live golf tour to Take On The World number one and test himself against the best player in the world yeah it’s really interesting isn’t it because when he looks at that scoreboard Scotty Sheffer is not the person he’s got to worry about at the moment there’s a couple of European players that uh let’s be fair it’s very exciting for for us Europeans at the moment hoard and O oberg uh really are just well they are they’re carrying on where they left off at the Ryder Cup to be perfectly honest and uh it’s great to see Max Homer though he’s gone along very very steadily not making any mistakes and he’s hit a magnificent shot into this 11th hole Max Homer about to part in the next few seconds but news of Colin Mora Ian second shot into the par five 13th going for the green into finding the green as well pitching the ball very close to the flag and allowing it to just run towards the back he’ll have a puck for Eagle will Callin morawa from around about 30 ft Scotty Sheffer tidying up for his par away to my right on the 12th and Max Homer putting for the first birdie of his day missing round the right hand edge of the cup and just trickling by by a few inches or so but it’ll be another par for Max Homer who spent all of his day yesterday and the day before of course walking around with the Great Tiger Woods which he just said was one of the greatest privileges of his life around Augusta National he really enjoyed the fact that nobody was watching him even though he was leading the Masters he said all the cheers you know everything is for Tiger but now he’s had to step out from behind the tiger curtain and he’s coping pretty well on his own par golf so far for Max Homer who’s in a four-way tie for the lean Xander schofl putting from off the back of the 18th Ander chaet putting from off the back of the 18th and the ball just running by and at two under par he’s got a tester to remain at that Mark so max Homer just propped up on the handle of his Potter the Californian looking very relaxed in the blue t-shirt like gray trousers and Bryson Des Shambo putting for his PA from about 5 ft or so and he was pretty hot from this range yesterday Trish and if the pot is working as well as it was yesterday this shouldn’t be a problem no it’s a tricky little one this though it’s very very Swift and if you just don’t quite get it right and it dies on you this could roll four or five Fe fast so he’s got to work out whether he wants to hit this aggressively and take the break out or just tickle it and make sure you got enough break on it so let’s see how he gets on what kind of tickle can the bulky Bry and D Shambo produce here lightest of touches oh and it’s slid by on the left hand side by a good couple of feet as well he’s almost put it as far past the hole as he was in front of the hole to start with there’s going to be a drop shot here for Bryson D Shambo and he’s going to Tumble out of that four-way tie of the lead Xander chaet for his par from pretty lengthy proportions a good 12 15 ft but it drops for Xander chaule and he does make his par at the last and that’s the clubhouse lead as it stands on this third round day at two underpar for Xander chof round in a two under 70 so can Bryson D Shambo limit the damage to just the one dropped shot here he’s got a flat peaked baseball cap on Gray matching his gray trousers and a light pink T-shirt can hear the wor of a drone overhead buzzing above the trees and Bryson Des Shambo puts it in for birdie snatches the ball out of the cup and just Twitches his wrist in acknowledgement towards the crowd there’s a smack ring of Applause for Des Shambo an increasingly popular character over the past few days the way he’s self-deprecatingly re-approached the game of golf he’s won himself a few more fans back after he once said he could muscle his way around Augusta National in 65 blows Max Homer about to pop for par though here mark and it should just be a couple of feet for him to stay at six underp in a share of the lead uh you’re listening to coverage of the 8 Masters here in Augusta third round Saturday uh it continues uninterrupted on Sports extra on five live there’s now another extended news and uh just looking at this leaderboard the majority of them in counter at the moment are going backwards bar lud obar who’s made a real run today and and actually I mean to when you actually consider what he what his compatriots are doing here what his playing partners are doing there’s only him and colen morawa really that are going forward yes and combine that with yesterday when he shot a three under pass 69 in those really really testing conditions the only round in the 60s he’s four under par for his round today with that birdie at the 13th taking him to six underpar morawa finds himself three under par for his round at six under we’ve seen straight pars all the way through the first 11 for Max Homer to remain at 6 under and Nikolai hoard one under for his round as he plays the 13th at five under So within a shot of the lead as is Bryson Des Shambo who’s one over par for his round and the big surprise really Scotty Sheffer the world number one two over par for his round now as uh he’s dispatched a wonderful t- shot on the par five 13th gone absolutely miles Round the Corner with that one but at four underpar he is two three o uh yeah two o sorry two overp par for his round I was going to say three over because he did Birdie the first here today so he was a 1.7 under but now he finds himself at four under par uh Danny Willet coming down 15 at the moment here is level par for the tournament remember he went down 18 yesterday four under and then triple Bogi 18 so he’s he finished yesterday on one under he’s one over for his round today but he’s uh he’s level part and he has had a very very good Master’s cat Max Homer with that lovely balanced swing of his one of the most stylish in golf sending the ball towards the flag on the 12th through the back ooh and it’s gone up the slope into the pine straw and then rolling back down again in that little swell through the back of the green on the 12th so many players going into that Hollow and a word Trish for the Ovation for Max Homer as he walked up on the tea he said yesterday when he was playing with Tiger Woods it’s the coolest walk in golf everyone cheers but you all know it’s for Tiger today that was definitely for him yeah definitely was and uh yeah he’s very very cool isn’t he’s he’s I I really like watching Max Homer but I tell you what he’s a lucky boy there cuz he’s pitched that miles miles up the bank and fortunately for him it’s come down underneath the actual Bush at the back and he should have a fairly straightforward chip but lucky boy Ry and D Shambo then following Max Homer across the water of Ray’s Creek standing t ing doing that re rehearsed back swing before he unleashes the ball into the blue sky here at aen corner at the Augusta National the ball on its way up against the backdrop of those pine trees and plunging down again into that little Swale to the left hand side into the dappled Shadows beneath that russet red maple tree and all of a sudden as one the grand stand here Rises Trish is having to move out of the way as people want to jostle to follow the leading the fin group I was going to say the leading group but with that dropped shot for Bryson Des Shambo on the 11th it’s Max Homer at six under in a share of the lead and Bryson on five under here Colin marawa for Eagle on 13 borrowing from right to left but over borrowing over hitting and sending that six seven maybe eight feet by he’ll have that putt coming back for a birdie that would take him into the outright lead at 7even under but missing the opportunity to go to to8 andar there Colin marar after that fantastic second shot into the 18th now I don’t know I think I’ve got time here just to I just need to give you some rugby news because that has come in um and that is to say that Northampton have just beaten the Bulls tonight by 59 points to 22 they’re into the semi-finals of the Champions Cup and they join Harley quins who won 4241 what a match that was in Bordeaux earlier lster easily beat lar relle exitor into lose tomorrow and Northampton will play lster in the semifinals so you’re up to date with the rugby as well here’s the leaderboard changing all the time Colin morawa has the opportunity to go in front with a birdie chance on 13 in the next few moments but as it stands at the moment he’s locked with ludvig oer who’s gone through the back of the green on the the 14th the par for there Max Homer who’s on the 12th he’s at six under par as well Nikolai hoard at five under par Bryson to sha Boo at five under par and Scotty Sheffer at four under CA Max Homer in the shadows of those towering pine trees the Shrubbery and the pine straw behind him russet and green backdrop the yellow flag now fluttering in a in a stronger Breeze that’s obviously felt on that side of the water because here we are in the Lee of the wind tucked into the forest on this side away from the 12th green which lies 146 yards away from Trish Johnson and eyes as we look at Max Homer going through his aim Point routine his leg straddling the line and he’s going to take a little bit of time over this one Ian so time to get back to you and Colin morawa on the par five 13th 7 and 1/2 feet looking for the birdie and the outright lead gives it a good wrap but he’s missed it he thought it was going to turn a little more from the left and that misread means that he has to settle for a three putt par on the 13th and he remains at six underap so maxom now down on his hunches in that roset orangey Pine draw through the back of the 12th he’s ready to hit this now he’s given this plenty of thought really tricky shot we’ve seen plenty of them take this on and so many have run past the flag here Trish down that slope on the 12th green yeah he’s just got it started and I think he has misjudged that yeah he has wow it’s been very similar shot to Cameron Smith and just got it totally way too quick and it’s just on the front edge so he’s got 15 ft coming back yeah we’ve seen that error before the Miss through the back and then that treacherous slope back towards the silky black Waters of Ray Creek Max Homer plucks his ball from the surface of the green Bryson to Shambo to the left hand side in the shadows cast by the overhanging trees he’s about to up onto the 12th green here mark thank you very much welcome back if you are listening on five live on interrupted coverage on Sports actually if you are listening on five live we should probably just quickly update the leaderboard for you Ian yes and it’s changing all the time I know ludvig oer under big pressure on the 14th to remain at 6 under Park Colin morar has just missed the chance to go to seven under with his first three putt of the week and that means that that he is at six under par through 13 holes Max Homer is struggling to make his par on the 12th but as it stands at the moment he is at 6 under Nikolai hoard at 5 under Bryson Des Shambo at 5 under Oar putted up to around about 78 ft on off the back of the 14th so he’s got that to stay in the lead Scotty Sheffer back at four and pass but now hitting his second shot into the par five 13th long iron in hand four iron indeed from 215 yards out that’s wonderful from Sheffer finds the green underneath the hole as well but the ball now taking the Contours and drifting further away and heading towards the edge of the green and still going still going still going probably 3540 ft away from the flag he’ll have that for Eagle to come and I can tell you mark that o missed his putt on the 14th and so that is a bogey for the swed and he drops back to five under pass and now Homer and morawa on their own at the top of the leader board at 6 suay for now because we’re watching Max Homer with Camy everybody’s going backwards at the moment cat they’re making a really difficult situation of the 12th here Mark both Bryson Des Shambo and Max Homer misjudging their plays up onto the putting surface Bryson dambo went with the Potter from that little Swale on the left hand side beneath the trees and he drifted it way past but one moment I thought it was going the bunkr yeah it’s amazing isn’t it he had exactly the same shot as oberg oberg ped it as well and knocked at a good 10-ft pass but I think Bron’s outd done him I think he’s got all of 15 ft back up the hill here the only thing got going for him again is it’s up the hill it’s slightly right to left and he can be fairly aggressive Greg Bodin the caddy with the Green Masters towel slung across his shoulder watching his boss pot then to save par on the 12th and avoid back-to-back Dro shots that won’t go in though for the 2020 US Open Champion so it’s backto back Bogies for Bryson to Shambo and he slips from six under par and a share of the lead on the 11th T to two off the lead on the 13th T and Max Homer will put to save his par in just a moment Ian Nikolai hoard second shot to the 13th catches the near Bank of Ray Creek and then kicks towards the far Bank and I suspect that has dropped back we’re getting a replay now it hits the near Bank it hits the far Bank it goes into reverse and drops into the water so hoard into the water in two on the par five 13 so a test for the nerves of Max Homer he says he’s taken up journaling to help Focus the mind on the positives control the controllables write down all the things that he’s grateful for all the things that that he’s good at to focus his attention on the here and now and can he sink this parut on the 12th at Augusta National on Saturday no he can’t so it’s going to be a drop shot for Max Homer he tumbles out of that three-way tie for the lead so it’s Colin morawa out in front on his own ludvig goar having dropped the shot at the 14th morau now leads the masters with Homer a shot back on five under par and back to back Bogies for Bryson to Shambo means he’s now two off the lead standing Pro up on his putter casting a vivid Dark Shadow across the 12th green and I wonder what’s going through the head of the live golf player as he just walks in to tidy up for his bogey Mark is this still in the main down to putting Andrew McGee and how difficult the greens are or are there other I’m basically thinking about Huard second there on on 133 are there other things coming into this because it is nowhere near as as as breezy and windy as it was yesterday no it’s it’s it’s nothing to do with that it’s the the greens have just gotten more difficult more difficult all day long the the fire is just is just baking these greens and just getting faster and faster and scary I’ve never seen I don’t think I’ve ever seen a gusta like this two days of gusting winds and today the greens have taken a lot out of these players they there’s no tap ends there’s always a five-footer a 4-footer a six footer an eight footer for par that’s just mentally draining these guys to pieces right now and this is uh quite a leaderboard we have as it’s going backwards faster than ever so so when we when we look ahead tomorrow and we talk about and we did it we’ve done it already tonight about you know the pin positions there to to try and help with birdies help with shots to create the Roars that Echo around this famous course how how will that balance with the pace of the greens do you expect it to be easier tomorrow because of pin placements or harder because of green Pace no I think the green jackets really really like this they they’d like to see their winning score be you know a single digit you know a four under three under that’s that makes a a major really look like it was properly set up you know it’s almost sounds like a US Open where they want even par to win but uh this is this is more like it than a 15 under Masters which uh the Green Jackets don’t like um the greens um are are the culprit today for sure uh Xander chuffle is the leader in the clubhouse on two under and you would you wouldn’t bet you wouldn’t bet would you Andrew no you know he wouldn’t bet and therefore as we sit here on 15 Ali and we look at Tommy Fleetwood on level par who is now only six shots off the lead and and depending on how he plays his his final four holes and depending how the rest of them come in he could be really in the mix yeah I could as could anyone on that Mark so he’s playing alongside cam Young uh who is at one under par he’s had to go at the par 51 15th here uh in two shots he’s gone over the back of the green just what you were saying about though the difficulties of the putting I’ll come back to it in a second because Tommy fleetwood’s third shot is on its way to the 15th and Ian is watching C Mora Fleetwood safely on the 15th green birdie chance coming on the 15th this is looking good really good from Tommy fleetw but it’s going to keep rolling towards the hole that is the best approach shot we have seen at the 15th today he’s knocked it to within a couple of feet and Tommy flier will have that to get to one underpar a magical approach from Tommy fleetw Ian Colin marar with his approach to the 14th the green proving too hard to hold and it runs through the back of the green to the area from which ludvic oer managed to boy a few moments ago Max Homer with his t-shot on 13 firmly into the Fairway hitting the ball with a beautiful low trajectory all the way around is Max Homer and he’s in good shape but Nikolai hyar uper front up ahead is not he’s had to take a penalty drop from Ray’s Creek this is his fourth shot and he’s undercooked that by some distance and the ball is now trundling back towards him it threatened to keep going towards the hole then put the brakes on went into reverse and he’s going to have a good 15 20 ft to save par there hyar remember the danne who was out in front on his own now back at 5 under so one behind the leader Colin morawa who’s missed the green on 14 Bryson to sha boo throwing the kitchen sink at this drive taking a brave left angle there using the Contours as it lands as well and that’s gone miles down the par five 13th superb t- shop from Bryson Des Shambo there is there is a massive cheer from out on the course uh from the the 13th from the par five 13th Ian will’ll probably see this on the monitor uh very very shortly but that is the loudest cheer that we have heard today follow following on from the best approach shot here on 15 that we have seen today and what was a really nice touch about it is playing partner Tommy Fleetwood has hit this wonderful pitch shot and and he’s played it absolutely perfectly he was about 100 yards away and he’s aimed for the heart kind of the middle of the green just just to the left of the middle of the green because the Contours of the ball when it landed with the spin then took that slope and came in towards the hole Ian Scotty Sheffer for Eagle on the 13th and wouldn’t you know it it drops into the hole and that is the cheer that you were hearing just a few moments ago we’re seeing it now and a clenched Fist from a man who for the last three or four greens has just not been able to work out the mysteries of Augusta Well he solved the puzzle there beautiful dead weight putt the ball drops in for an eagle and that’s as demonstrative as Scotty Sheffer ever gets and he leaps to six under par and into a share of the lead with Colin morawa and and they’ve just cheered in the galleries here cuz cuz unusually and we say this every year we everybody relies on the big white leader boards here at Augusta that you’re not allowed any technology out on the course and unusually they put sheffer’s Eagle up they put the big big red six next to his name whil Fleetwood and Camy young were still on the green now neither of them were putting but the galleries cheered it and they cheered more and they had more reaction to that than any other score that’s gone up and Tommy just turned around looked at what they were cheering at and then turn around with a Ry smile he’s in Everton blue today is Tommy with that shirt he’s got this small pot very small pot for a birdie which will take him into the red numbers it will take him on the par Ian Nikolai hoard putting to save his par and coming up short we’re seeing again now the Sheffer pu so you’ll hear Roars in the background potentially um but uh there were no Roars for hyar who having gone into the creek will now drop another shot and slip back to four and Par a share of fifth place with Bryson deso as it stands Max Homer in third place at five and alongside ludvig oer who has split the Fairway off the te on the 15th morawa and Sheffer now the joint leaders at six underpar three bogers in a row for hoard Andrew mcge Andrew mcge that’s the second time with these two that there’s been a three shot swing on sorry go on yeah just before Andrew answers that one uh moraa putting from off the back of the 14th doing a better job than Oar and putting it to 3 ft so should save his P yeah this is this is crazy stuff today Sheffer much more comfortable from distance than short distance you know the pressure seems to be off when he’s not expected to make a long one he can just free whe it when he gets closer to the hole I think his nerves get a little nervy and he’s missed him and he’s he’s a little more nervous so it’s a it’s an interesting Dynamic he’s going through do you change do you change your approach into the flag be in mind if you’re if you’re better from a little bit further away than 4 foot you’re trying to make that shot every time on the faway here get it as close as you can no I’m trying to hit a 40 foot on every hole choppers that would be an interesting we to win yes yeah I don’t think that’s going through Max Homer’s mind right now as he surveys his his approach shot in here the breeze just tugging at his uh at his blue shirt and he’s he’s just in a couple of Minds here as to what club to hit he’s right in the middle of the Fairway the ball’s sitting in the shadow of one of these Tall Pine trees that stretches uh across the the shadow stretching across the Fairway and now very carefully Homer pops the club Behind the ball still hasn’t made a birdie today just the one drop shot passs the rest of the time and here this long iron heading towards the green but he’s laid it up well well short so he’s playing the conservative route here he’s gone down the right side of the Fairway and he’s given himself an angle there for the third I I think he hit three-wood off the T he was laying up all the way and what a cool shot though a three with a low hooking three would like off number 10 the same cool to even try that shot is uh it’s it’s really a cool thing to see Scotty schler blasts one now he’s back to having confidence blasts it down 14 just a short iron left of that it’s that pin placement that’s uh we’ve seen balls bouncing right over this scen let’s see if he can knock this one Clos he went with the three-wood there did uh Scotty Sheffer uh we can see ludvig oer guys hitting second shot in from 263 yds at 15 yeah and we have seen where that has landed but we’re also Whispering because Tommy Fleetwood is on the 16th T Alli having bird the 15th one under pass so five shots off the lead here at the master as the pin up away to the right hand side it’s a fabulous fabulous shot again from Tommy Fleet with again one of the best we’ve seen on the PA 3 16th what a picture across the shimmering water the banks massed with Spectators the three white bunkers like giant Bing bags all around the green and Tommy fleetwood’s ball I think four or five ft away another birdy chance to come right I’m going to spin round hold that mic here we go twisting myself up in mik cables here in our commentary position to the left of the 15th green ludvig Oar playing in his first Masters and his first major and very polite he will wait at the back of the 15th green for cam young to send his t-shot on its way to that par three 16th oh that’s as good as fleetwoods I think it’s landed very close to fleetwoods and moves on just a little bit into the Shadows away on the 16th green so this Chip Shot from the back of the 15th Mark we’ve been watching this all afternoon and this is really really fiddly so ludvig oer hit the drive to put himself into position to find this 15th green safely carried the water but it skipped over the back of the green and this is one of the most difficult up and downs at Augusta National I’d say he’s got about 10 to 12 yards of slope and Fairway and Fringe to work with before he gets onto this shiny super fast putting surface and we’ve seen these shots time and time again and we’ve seen players try to chip them try to sort of flop them up land them soft and roll them down other players will try and Putt if they’re a little bit closer and just trying to gauge that speed up the hill but as soon as the ball hits the back of that green and hits the putting surface it really does start to AG go we’ve watched 11 groups now go through the par 5 15th we saw Fleetwood and cam young both birdie it in the last group before that in the previous 10 groups I’ve only seen one birdie from Brooks kka and one from Lucas Glover we are now watching ludvig Oar the young Swede five underpar on a thrilling afternoon Saturday afternoon at the Masters on five live radio 5 sports extra and the BBC sounds app Scotty Sheffer with a sensational Eagle at the par five 13th leads the Masters on 6 under par but here’s ludvig Ober tall young swed in light blue top and dark blue trousers sizing up this pitch from the back of the 15th low little skidy bump and run and that’s what happens you don’t get it up the slope you’re so scared of when it hits the putting surface it’s going to go flying on by and down the slope the other side into the water and he’s left it at the back of the green so he’s not even on the green yet in three now he’s got to get up and down to make his par Ian what’s happening with col morawa he’s saved his par good par save as well from a good four and a half 5 ft on the 14th so he remains at six under par as for Bryson Des Shambo superb second shot into 13 he’s got an eagle chance uh there and Scotty Sheffer with gap wedge going from 142 yards into the heart of the 14th brilliantly controlled the best distance control we’ve seen certainly in the last half an hour or so on the 14th and he has 20 ft for his birdie meanwhile on the 13th Max Homer playing his third shot in to the 13th and just overcooking it a little bit and he’s left himself 20 ft for birdie there has the American still to make a birdie today but right up there on the leaderboard at 5 under par just one shot behind Sheffer and morawa what a sight we’ve got at the 15th green ludvig Oar sizing up a pitch from the back of this green quickly up to John Murray at the 17th Cameron Smith is putting on the 17th this from 10 ft this for birdie to go to 300 no it’s by on the left hand side so Smith cam Smith Remains Two under asers cam young who’s sizing up a put away in the distance across the water on the part 316th Tommy Fleetwood in close with a birdy chance there which could get him to two underpar it is hotting up beautifully on a gorgeous afternoon at austa but ludig Ober here right in the mix in his very first major his very first Masters already a Ridder cup player a winner on the DP World Tour a winner on the PGA tour and now trying to become the first Masters winner on debut since fuzzy Zella did it back in 1979 just one shot off the lead held by Scotty Sheffer the short game skills are tested here got to be so so delicate with this part onto the green it goes and now it rolls and I think he’s judged it beautifully he has it just keeps trickling by though and I’d say that’s about 3T from the left hand edge of the green to try and make it in there for a par and keep himself at five under par Camy young missed his birdie pot on 16 and now it’s Tommy’s turn right Tommy fleetw away in the distance I’m going to try and do it with the naked eye and go off the reaction of the patrons up there but the uh the new Master’s binoculars I can tell you they are working quite beautifully this well they’re in the case at the moment in the case at the moment but they have been used and well worth the investment ludvig obar still with a threefoot but they’re in the case at the moment they’re in the case at the moment but you’re welcome to use them at anytime you like Mark Tommy Fleetwood as you said in his Everton blue Long Shadows of the pine stretching across the 16th green taking every care over a short putt will it go for Fleek wood yes it does backto back birdies on the 15th and 16th what a time to make a move in this very tight master so Tommy Fleetwood in the space of two holes leaps from Level par to two under par mat Pavo has putting for his Birdie on the 15th green here so let’s just see if ludvig o can knock this in and this is exactly what we’ve been saying all afternoon Andrew McGee said it right at the start of the day the The Strain the stresses it puts on your putting on all of these greens not an easy par this one he’s missed it he’s missed it it’s going to be a drop shot for OAR at the 15th he goes back to four under par that’s a bogey six Ian delicate Eagle putt here for Bryson Des Shambo on 13 this goes in he’s into a share of the lead he’s going to have a big swing from right to left it’s downhill just needs to set it into motion and he does the most delicate of touches almost at right angles and then it swings away to the left down towards the hole but he I mean it was just impossible to get that any closer I think it was so severely downhill and he’s looking there puts his hand to his chin as if to say well what was I supposed to do there he’s left himself maybe five six feet for his birdie and he couldn’t have hit it any softer no I mean and that from from our angle it looked like a pretty simple looking putt but wow as soon as he hit that I went wow that’s short and it wasn’t short those greens they are so so crispy mark this is a uh this is a sensational third round look at we we’ve been eulogizing about him and now he’s just gone bogey bogy Bogi 14 Bogi 15 and he’s back to 4 under and Tommy Fleetwood birded 15 birded 16 and uh as several people uh thousands of people said at Hoy Lake last year go on Tommy lad as he goes on to 17 to head up into the view of John Murray very shortly Scotty Sheffer on six under Colin marawa on six under he’s coming down 15 now EA Max Homer on five under Bryson D Shambo Nikolai hoard and ludvig op bear on four under as well Homer is being watched by Ian similarly delicate P but this looks better from Homer on the 13th green but again it just takes the slope and accelerates by maybe the hole would have grabbed it if it had been an inch inch further to the right instead it has raced past the hole and now he’s got work to do to save his par Nikolai hyar meanwhile at the 14th chipped through the green this is for par putting from off the green and the Dane makes a pretty good fist of it the ball finishing behind the hole but he’ll have to settle for a bogey and that will drop him back to three underpar and three shots Behind The Joint leaders Scotty Sheffer and Colin morawa morawa by the way is firmly in the middle of the Fairway on the 15th that’s four Bogies in a row for hoard after the birdie at the 10th had taken him to the top of the leaderboard so he’s firmly in reserve rever there’s our answer on how he feels about being in the lead what did we say question he he does not like to be in the lead I don’t think I don’t think any of us get in there okay Fleetwood knocks it in that’s the one that we already talked about of course everybody knows about that yeah Hy goard um is Sheffer uh for the outright lead putting on the 14th across the back of the green and just missing right edge of the hole delicate delicate but they all are at the moment the distance control on the approach Ro shot was just brilliant and he had a 20 footed there and he will tap that in momentarily there it goes and so he remains at six under par the world number one the favorite has steadied the ship after that double bogey at the 10th the Bogi at 11 the Eagle at 13 and it’s AAR at 14 now what can Homer do on the 13th here he’s got 8 ft to save his part after very nearly hold holding for a birdie and he does very composed from the American Ridder cup player and that keeps him at five under a little modest nod of the head he doesn’t really leave himself that open to emotion and he remains within a shot of the lead you’re listening to our coverage of the Masters in Augusta third round Saturday uninterrupted on Sports extra now time for an extended news on five live uh ludrick oer has teed off on the par 3 16 having gone bogey bogy alley yeah went pin chasing on the 16th you could tell that’s really annoyed him but he’s had a really good laser iron shot straight at the flag on the PA 36th it’s just skipped a bit beyond I’d say he’s got 12 15 ft from the right hand side of that green Ian what are you saying Bryson to sha B missing with his birdy chance just borrowed too much on the high side and the ball stayed up there so he’s three putted there and remains at four and AAR frustrated bog is at 11 and 12 now just aart at 13 and so he Remains Two Shots behind Sheffer and morawa at the top of the leaderboard uh colen morawa walking down the 15th alongside uh Cameron Davis now cam Davis’s ball has gone into the water he tried to go over the lake and onto the green and he hit the bank and then it just rolled back back into the water Colin Mor Colin Mor Colin morawa coming this way as well though at the moment where where’s his ball yeah he’s laid up and do you know what Mark he was he was in pretty good position at the top of the hill and then he watched Cam Davis do what he did we saw ludvig Oar actually quite comfortably get to that green go over the back of the green but even if you go over the back of the green we then saw lud o take four more shots to try and get up and down any which way you approach this hole this next shot for Mor this is classic third shot if you lay up on the par 515 so he’s in the in the tall long stretching Shadows of this big pine tree that’s just in front of the grand stand on the 15th and the ball is on a on a downhill line and that Turf he’s playing off is is is cut so so tight and you’re feeling in your head you want to get that ball up as as quickly as you can it makes it so so difficult across the water it goes and then the pin here as we’ve been saying all afternoon cut really tight just four yards in on the left hand side and the green absolutely had it shallow lowest point so morawa treating this with with real caution he knows the dangers he’s in the lead the share of the lead here in the third round of the Masters morawa and Sheffer the two Americans at six under par we’ve got Max Homer at five under looking at that leaderboard across the 15th Green from us and ludig oar at four under par with a birdie put to come on the 16th away in the distance morawa though is taking plenty of time over this huge crowds lining e side of this Fairway it is such a a beautiful golfing part of the world but col morara won’t be paying any attention to that he is thinking about the inherent dangers in this shot Tommy Fleetwood played this shot absolutely perfectly into the middle of the green let the ball spin take those Contours and try and bring it in towards uh the flag but they’re hitting at tiny tiny areas you only need to be a couple of yards out here and you’re in a real spot of bother L big Oar L big Oar continues to line is putt up away to our left on the 16th green as morawa finally looks like he’s ready to go the dark blue trousers it’s a sort of orangey short sleeve polo shirt he’s got needs more consultation with his caddy who’s in the very familiar white boiler suit must be boiling hot in that this afternoon the Augusta Green Camp the white trainers final consultation is done and morawa now going through the pre-shot routine two practice s s Sunshine glinting off the shaft of his wedge three practice swings four practice swings it’s got to be absolutely perfect leading the Masters on Saturday afternoon and taking his time again he bends down he’s not sure about the breeze here let’s have a look at the flag yes the yellow flag just gently fluttering in the breeze so he bends down picks up a few Blades of grass throws them up in the air one more practice swing and finally calling morawa looks like he’s ready to go over the ball morawa Oar I think has hit the first part up on the 16th it’s not dropped for birdie moraka attacks the ball now he’s taken the Fleetwood line here to the right of the flag bounces once bounces twice holds the putting surface it’s brilliant for morawa it spins into the left hand side it takes that slope it rolls back down towards the hole and all that practice and all that preparation and all that pre-shot routine has paid off there he’s knocked it to within about 4T and morabo will have that for a birdie to get himself to 7even under he took his time Mark but it was worth it ludig Oar now having dropped shots at the 14th and the 15th cannot afford to drop another one at the 16th and he’s tapped that in so par for OAR on the 16th still right in this mustn’t be too disheartened this is a really jam-packed leaderboard K maraba though with a great chance in a couple of minutes time on the 15th green here to get himself into the lead on his own at 7 under par let get details of Max Homer and Bryson dambo on 4 team with Ian yeah they are at 14 as it stands at at the moment but we are waiting to see exactly what is happening with them on that 14th Hole uh Mark so let’s just reiterate the leaderboard morawa and Sheffer both at six underpar Homer at five underpar deso at four andar ludvig oer after the 16th at four andar as well and Nikolai hoard now back to three under I’ll have uh details for you on events on the 14th shortly thank you Ian back at the 15th green here we’re looking at Cam Davis having taken his drop to the right hand side of the water hits the pitch oh what a shot what an incredible shot from the Australian Cameron Davis because that one looked like on the second bounce it was going to zip through the back of the green and head towards the water that runs up towards that 16th green and then then on that bounce Tris Johnson who’s just joined me here in our commentary position at the 15th that stopped dead on a dime zip breaks stop bang right next to the hole two Ines away and that means he’ll get out of here with a five just an amazing shot I think in the last what two minutes I’ve just witnessed two of the best shots I’ve seen from sort of inside 50 50 yards cuz marow shot is just out of this world but that was possibly even better are right Tris Johnson has joined the fun at the 15th green warm Applause for Cam Davis Thor deserved went for the Green in two found the water fabulous pit shot into inches he’s tapped it in and here comes the moment for Colin Mor carwa so after these two have completed this 15th hole there are only two more groups to play it’s Scotty Sheffer and Nikolai hoard and then the final group out on course today Max Homer and Bryson D Shambo uh Colin morawa then this for the chance to get himself to seven under par you loved the approach from col morar but the work is still not done I’ve been seeing it all afternoon here Trish this is so slick this green yeah I mean the greens are just what what is causing all the problems this afternoon they are absolutely rock hard I mean this pin position is just an absolute peer isn’t it it really is and this is going to break considerably left to right and the trouble is if he gives it a bit more pace and doesn’t get it he’s going to knock it about 8 foot past it is so slippery Ali two time major Champion putty on glass loosens the shoulders gets the hands settled on the putting grip for the lead at the Masters this Saturday afternoon on its way good firm rap it hits the edge of the hole that went hard at the hole that one and it’s still about the same distance away another 3 ft to come for the pile looked like he really he really went at that yeah he really did actually and he caught a lot of the hole he’s got three feet coming back but it’s up the up the hill so it’s not too bad that actually he was very aggressive on that tried to take the break out and unfortunately just played a little bit too much break that is why Trish that is why we say don’t you you look at a p we’ve seen it with Scotty shef over the last couple of days you think right we can give him that and we’ll we’ll you know we’ll we’ll we’ll mark that down as a par but you can never ever do that over any length of Punt here at Augusta and this one again it’s the same routine it’s the shoulder Shake it’s just relaxing those hands on the grip of the putter as Trish says straight up the hill for the par five no problem with this one a more gentler Pace that is a chance gone from karawa and it’s still quite early in the piece but who knows how crucial that might be Colin morawa stays at six under par the 4-footer here on the 15th drop so he shares the lead Scotty sheer at six under we got Max Homer at five under Bryson D Shambo and ludvig oer at four under par what news John do you do you have some tale to tell of Mr Fox on the 17th I really feel for Ryan Fox with his approach shot from the Fairway at 17 the ball pitched just in front of the hall hit the flag bounced back into the front bunker he ended up taking a seven he could he could have hold it for a two he ended up taking a seven and Ryan fox goes from levelar to plus three really really unfortunate I would I would say to people have a look out for that on the on the website the clips on the BBC sport website got Tommy Fleetwood and uh and cam Yung on 17 now but I’ll keep you in touch with them okay thank you John uh behind us here as well Nikolai hoard and Scotty Sheffer are on their way down the 15th and just wondering whether one of those two has found the water hoard has found around the water with his second shot on the 15 Nikolai hoard dropping shots frittering them away on the back nine he was seven under after 10 three under playay in this hole and his second shot on the 15th has ended up in the water so we’ll keep an eye on what Scotty Sheffer is doing as well Cam Davis is down on the 16th T beneath us Scotty sheffer’s shot has hit the putting surface on the 15th the par 55th it’s just trickled through the back it’s taking the slope and that is kind of where ludvig oer was and he had real problems getting the ball onto the putting Sur it took him four more shots from there and it’s um they say it don’t they Trish from back there I mean wherever you end up on this hole but from back there I think that’s one of the most difficult up and downs at Augusta oh my God I’m just you I think he’s hit a fantastic shot over the water and he’s left himself the most slippery impossible Chip Shot you have ever seen in your life and I would be saying a few hell Mar’s if that was me back there Cam Davis then 16th t- shot on the way he plays it from shade and it’s heading towards the sunshine Splash 16th green looking for this ball to land they like it it’s beyond the flag it’s a putt back towards the hole but it’s a brave t-shot with that PIN cut away to the right hand side in Carter has news of Bryson D Shambo he’s putting from around about 22 ft down the slope on the 14th for birdie this looks very good oh it’s brilliant and it drops into the cup and there’s the clenched Fist from the American and there is a big birdie for Bryson deso deshambo leaps up to five under par and to within a shot of the lead wow what a roller coaster we’re witnessing today this has uh been one of the more fun days I think I’ve ever seen here at the Masters I love the bounceback from dambo he keeps on doing this toing and throwing this Saturday at the Masters we Dro to a whisper because we are directly above col morawa two-time major Champion sharing the lead of this masters with Scotty Sheffer t-shot across the shimmering Waters at the 16th looks really good for line has he got the distance Mor car lands and it’s close it’s really good it’s almost as good as Cam Davis right hand side of the green those two the pair of them have decent birdie putts to come on the 16th Cam Davis at two underpar and Colin morawa at six under par I think the phrase is Trish Johnson they’re dialed in oh my God this is Sensational I have to say Alli this is the best place I think in the world to watch golf this actually at the 15th here at Augusta you get 15 green you get 16 te you’ve got people everywhere and the greatest scoreboard in the world right there yeah fabulous stuff great entertainment we hope you’re enjoying it with us tonight Ian what news max Homer for his Birdie on the 14th he’d hit arguably the better approach shot it was certainly closer but his attempt for a first birdie of the day fails misses just on the right hand side and so Homer will have 2 and 1 half three ft to negotiate to remain at five under par yeah I just think he’s a little too conservative you know three-wood off of 13 there You’ you’ve got to take some chances I mean he’s just made all Pars in one bogey all day and uh you got to you got to go for it just a little bit more I think Max so Homer will keep you posted on his power attempt on 14 now thank you Ian John what news up on 17 four shots off the lead Tommy Fleetwood and cam Young have both got through 17 with part fours so Tommy Fleetwood and cam young both two under heading to the 18th T Colin morawa birdie chance maybe from 12 to 15 ft to come on the par 316th as Trish says we are in the most treasured golfing spectator spot Scotty Sheffer is at the back of the 15th green joint leader on six under power I think you can hear one of my Japanese colleagues talking away at quite a rate of knots as he brings the news to whoever he’s broadcasting to uh around the world but we are waiting away to the right of the screen Nikolai hoard who’s had a tough back nine here ad AUST already been in the water on this hole that’s his fourth shot trying to get the ball to spin and hold on the green on the left hand edge of the green it just goes toppling and rolling and gently trickling down the slope and Nikolai hoard is having more problems here and you can hear the groans and the ooze and the a as the ball continues to roll that’s four played here Trish and that’s still that is still a very tricky pitch to come to get that up and down only for a bogey six yeah I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he putts that back up the hill cuz he’s got so little green to work with once he gets on there he’s got no no real real real shot to play with he was a little bit unlucky just hit it a fraction too hard we saw Cam Davis play this shot before to Perfection just hit it a bit more out the right hand side and let it check and just fall down gently and he hit it straight at the flag just couldn’t get it to stop joint Leaders with us both in our view Colin morawa getting ready to putt on the 16th Scotty Sheffer getting ready to chip from the back of the 15th Max Homer is chasing he’s just one behind Ian Carter he’s made his par on the 14th up ahead on the 17 ludvig a oer has hit his approach in John and it’s a good one isn’t it yes it is they’re both on the green here Oar and his playing partner pavon but but a birdie chance certainly one of one of the best approach shots we’ve seen in actually from Oar on four and B the two leaders are about to play at exactly the same time Sheffer I think he just going to hit first here bumps it low into the back of the green here at the 15th might have judged it beautifully it’s just going to slide to the right hand side of the hole it’s pretty good for Pace but he’s still going to have about 8 n maybe 10 ft from the left hand side of the green for his birdie morar was birdie part on its way he’s pointing with his putter he wants it to drop and it doesn’t it doesn’t quite drop he was convinced that was going to go in for the birdie on 16 but the crowds have stayed silent he just jabbed his putter out like a a fencing foil in a in a jewel there urging the ball to find the bottom of the car but he’s not managed to do it Cameron Davis next to P up there on the 16th and this is the other great thing TR not only is it beautiful here but it’s just ratat every way you look you don’t know who to look at do you I’m looking up at 16 now we’re back at 15 got hoard playing a pitch shot on 15 I tell you what that’s pretty good that is pretty good although he’s got exactly the same putt as Mor how just had a second ago so it’s still not by no means a six but uh it’s a good effort yeah so four-footer to come for a six for hyar which would take him back to two underpar the lead is at six under par closing holes of the Masters this Saturday evening on five live sports extra and the BBC sounds app if you’re on the move John Murray will have ludvig Oar in his sight shortly he’s right in the thick of it as well Cam Davis the Australian then closer the morawa maybe just outside 10 ft for birdie to get himself to three under par in the chase of morara and Sheffer and he’s looking and he’s walking and he’s hoping and it’s not going to drop for him so back we come here to the 15th green and here he is the red favor at the start of the week the man who’s been sweeping all before him in the last couple of months on the PGA tour Scotty Sheffer SS left hand side 15th green what about this one Trish well first of all one an amazing pit shot he just played in there just goes to show how I think people underestimate his short game it’s Sensational and he literally he had to literally land that on a six puns to have any putt at all and he’s left himself an uphill 8T left to right putt five listeners back with us at Augusta National watching the world number one Scotty Sheffer Trish Johnson winner on the LPA jaw tour current women’s US Open senior Champion standing alongside me to the left of the 15th green Scotty Sheffer sensibly just waiting for Cam Davis to make his parpart away in the distance so Sheffer settles tall man we’re standing directly behind him he has one last look at the hole everything goes quiet around the 15th green oh it’s true and it’s bold and it’s brilliant from Scotty Sheffer and he makes a move seven under par leads the Masters by one John Murray and up ahead on the 17th old bear for birdie from 25 ft but it rolls by on the right and curls away and stops three ft away so he will now have that to remain at four under par or bear Ali right so Scotty Sheffer has made the birdie seven under brilliant it’s like it’s like I mean it’s grand national day is and it’s it’s just like that isn’t it as they’re thundering round yeah it really is and you know what it just shows his class doesn’t it he made double bog he goes back to 400 but he finds a way to get it done so hoard for the six well done well done Nikolai hoard it is just one drop shot not particularly enjoying the back nine this afternoon he’s back to two under pass so he’s dropped five shots in his last six holes here as Nikolai hoard but listen to the evation right now for Scotty Sheffer as he comes striding confident ly of course on to the 16th t one more group to play the 15th behind us Max Homer and Bryson D Shambo Homer at 5 under D Shambo on the same Mark and suddenly that big Roar and agulation and cheers dies as Scotty Sheffer just puts the glove on polite Applause for his playing partner as well Nikolai hoard who’s dropped back to two under par and again I just don’t know where to look I’m looking away to the right hand side up to the 15th looking for Homer and dambo I can see caddies up there I can see boiler suits I can see Marshalls holding the yellow flags I can see very excited patrons lining either side of the Fairway but let’s keep our eyes on the leader who’s in a sort of lilac trouser this afternoon got a bit of a Wimbledon look about him in the top half white polo shirt white baseball cap just about ready to go and Spectators in the grand stand away to the left of this 16th T could nearly could nearly reach out over those railings and tap Scotty sheffler on the back what a view they’ve got Club head settles gently behind the ball you can hear the contact Sheffer sends it up into the bright blue skies here at Augusta that is left of the flag it’s very safe Into the Heart of the 16th green and it’s the front of the 16th green as well long uphill putt to come what news with you John Murray yes ludvic o no mistake from the swed holds his close range put to remain at four under so o has one hole to play Four under three shots off the lead Sheffer seven under morawa six under Homer and dambo about to play their seconds into the 15th at five under Nikolai hoard the young danne standing on the 16th T beneath us deep in discussion with his CAD just cast his eyes up to the branches of the Tall Pines around him doesn’t feel like there’s a breath of Breeze at the moment Trish Johnson holding the binoculars I can see one golf ball which is laid up here on the par five 15th right in the middle of the Fairway hoard is still waiting to play Max Homer is in Ian site so Ian that’s Homer on the 15th yes he is and I think that’s the ball that you can see it’s a good way back center of the Fairway and he’s laid up there to a yardage you would imagine that he would want to uh have as a comfortable third shot into the 15th Des Shambo drove down the left side propelled at 3 20 yards he’s 234 out Al but he is but he is um blocked out by the trees there so I would imagine that this will be a layup although you never quite know with know do you and you never quite know with the Masters Hy guard in the meantime t-a at the par three 16th trying to stay in contention at the Masters towards the yellow flags stick it’s Brave it’s to the right of the flag which is cut away to the right of the hole it’s beyond the flag but it stayed short of the bunker so that’s a downhiller to come for Nikolai Hyer yard Trish Johnson has the binoculars to her eyes those brand new Masters binoculars Des Shambo is swinging the ball is on its way what he’s tried to do with it we will wait and see I’m looking I’m looking for Bryson to shambo’s ball and I’m not seeing ripples in the water oh he’s gone right as he he’s gone right he’s gone right he’s gone right Trish uh beyond the 15th Fairway away to the right and just onto uh the edges of the 17th Fairway so the players I can see the next group there just walking up that 17th Fairway so there’s trees there I can see there’s there’s mini sort of camera stations there as well so Bryson Des Shambo that’s going to take a little time I think to S before he plays well I think he’s got a huge huge problem there it’s quite a good idea as long as he made sure that he wasn’t right behind directly behind one pretty huge tree cuz he’s got quite a good line in but unfortunately when I see a group of people that tree is going to cause him all sorts of problems and they’ve also got the TV tower there I think he might actually get a drop because I don’t think that’s going to be movable so he might get very lucky here yeah very lucky or is he thinking TV tower there if I plop it there well it’s not quite a tower is it TR it’s a lower platform it’s probably about 4T off the ground there well do you know what if he’s that good from 235 yards out fair play to him right here we are then looking across the waters in front of the 15th green Max Homer studying the yardage book right now in his bright blue polo shirt collecting himself flips the front of the the yardage book shut he’s happy he knows what he’s doing he’s getting ready to go what about this shot Trish talk to me about this shot I was trying to explain this earlier on in terms of that tight lie downhill lie into this pin here cut to the left of the 15th grain yeah Max is a little bit further back so I think this might be a tad easier cuz he can get a little bit more spin on it I mean again Mara shot from 50 odd yards was just Sensational but he’s off a really tight downhill line and where this pin is cut today Ally I mean you’ve literally got to land it just on the front and then get it to go forward if you land it to even probably a yard on the green it’s going to bounce over the back and you’ve got an impossible chip and if you land it a yard shorter than that you’re going to be in the front water it’s absolutely it’s it’s one of the hardest shots you’ll ever see your target area is absolutely tiny but the two best shots we’ve seen here so far this afternoon Tommy Fleetwood and Colin marawa into a channel away to the right hand side of the flag stopping at the back of the grin and then taking the Contour and coming back towards the flag the 16th green away in the distance totally draped in Shadows now Scotty sheffer’s got the long uphill putt to come for birdie there we’re keeping an eye on him but Max Homer is next to play five under par having started the day at six under pitch shot on the way looks really good for length bounc his second time needs to Skid holds the back of the green will it now take the slope it’s going to stop there right at the back and so that’s a straight down Hiller uh down the 15th green pretty darn good Trish oh magnificent just a little bit unlucky just a little bit more spin back and I he would have that would roll back all the the way to the flag but I’ll tell you what from there you’d definitely take it so fun and games with Bryson D Shambo away to the right hand side of this 15th Fairway Spectators have parted the ways to make room for him Scotty Sheffer away in the distance on the 16th green putting up the hill looking for a birdie to get himself to eight underpar looking pretty good for Pace up the hill there Sheffer stands and stares it won’t drop for him and he goes trudging towards the hole so still work to do Max Homer is now striding across the famous sarzen Bridge just beneath us in front of this 15th grand stand warm Applause for him he’s a man still looking for his first major that bridge there commemorating the 20th anniversary of Jean sarzen making a two on this par five 15 the only man ever to do that in the history of the Masters it happened in the second Masters back in 1935 and it eventually got him into a playoff which he won and that is the Saron bridge that Max Homer has just walked across so Nikolai hoard now for birdie from behind the hole up on the 16th he stands and he leans and he’s watching the ball and it’s still rolling down that slope on the 16th sheffer’s at seven under Colin Mora was at 6 under he’s in sight of John Murray morar Colin morawa ball lands on the 17th G he was in a great position right side of the Fairway and he’s fired it in it landed just about eight yds to the left of the hole but then rolls on and rolls on and it’s come to rest near the back of the green so morawa on six under will have a long long tricky put for birdie back across the 17 okay thank you John stay there and shout if you need it Nikolai hoard you think Trish has got a bit of work to do for p here on the 16th yeah I do and I tell you what he’s just made ever since he took the lead on uh on 11 he’s made five consecutive Bogies he’s hit the green on 16 but I think he’s got at least 6 foot back up looking at the amount of uh steps he took he’s got about 6 ft back up the hill to stop his sixth bogey on the truck yeah looking at the leaderboard the red numbers got it to seven under par on the 10th and then it goes 7 6 5 4 3 2 and if he misses this it drops to one it was the chocolate bar ivert back in the day wasn’t there the 5 4 3 2 1 he’s done it he’s hold it good par so I don’t get to sing that in the Indian C to what news Tommy Fleetwood who’s having an excellent back nine is in sixth place at the moment and he’s hit a nice second shot into the 18th he’ll have a longrange putt for birdie currently at two and a pass so within five of the lead okay mar car with John Murray on the 17th and I can tell you as well everyone listening that Scotty Sheffer has indeed made his par on the par 316 so Sheffer leads third round of the Masters closing hle seven under par Mor car’s closest Challenger on six under and the shenanigans away to the right of the 15th are still getting sorted here with Bryson D Shambo so his second shot going for the green splayed it right it’s about level with the water had that gone straight at the water that is landing in the water and Bryson D Shambo is in there with a rules official uh at the moment just having a conversation getting his ball in position to hit his third shot into the 15th and as you say Trish from from that Angle now once he gets a a sort of clear line of sight what what is that like as an approach to that pin oh he’s got a great chance here because he’s he’s going basically all the way up the green so instead of only having what Five Paces to come at coming across the water he’s got the best part of 30 Paces so as long as he judges his first you know gets that he’s probably got about 80 yards from where he is so he wants to pitch this probably about 65 yards just at the right hand side and just let it release down the same way that Scotty sheffer’s shot did this is the one the photographers are enjoying way to our right we’ve got about three or four steps beneath us jam out with photographers the long lenses around it’s going to be one of those moments when he hits the shot I think you’re going to hear the as the shots are taken of the ball move moving towards the hole so let’s see what Bryson dambo has got to entertain us here at the par 515 the sun blazing in his eyes he holds his left arm to the peak of his cap just to block it then he moves into the shade of the Pines settles himself over the ball pitching all the way across this 15th green Des Shambo long swing oh he hasn’t caught that properly that could take the slope and end up in the water it has the Shambo has chunked that straight up in the air it traveled about 15 yards it took the slope in front of the 15th green and the ball has found a watery grave he’s in there for three the next one he playing Five John Colin morawa with a long long long birdie put oh it catches the side of the hole and and because of that it has rolled away at a right angle and from being so close for birdie to go to 7even under he’s now got a real tester from 6 7 ft to remain at 6 under well well well well it never fails to disappoint at the Masters Scotty Sheffer leads by one on seven under par but he will not know what has happened to colim morawa put on the 17th and he will not know Trish Johnson what has happened to Bryson D Shambo I mean we’re the other side of the Fairway here what what do you think happened there from the way you saw the ball react and how it came out of that shot well I think the problem was he took a drop and over there it is very very bare you could see him desperately trying to you know get a drop asking the official is it here is it we can’t see the LIE over there but no doubt about it it was a very bare lie and he just didn’t like it decelerated and totally duffed it that’s the sort of shot you see you know you I hate to say it but you’re your weekend sort of hacker if you like um now he’s got he’s still got an incredibly difficult shot Ali the thing about austa these players never hit these shots they never hit them anywhere else but the the type of golf course it is the pressure on them you cannot make any mistakes and I’ve seen more mistakes today than but it’s just fantastic I love watching it you see an equal mix of of of Brilliance and and mistakes and that was a big mistake from dambo right fifth shot from short right at the 15th green this one will not end up in the water throws it high forward onto the green the ball checks and starts to run across the green towards the flag but he’s going to leave himself what are we thinking there Trish how long is that maybe 25 ft yeah about 25 ft and it’s it’s it’s a slippery one as well because there’s a lot of right to left in it he’s got to be very careful that’s pretty much where he was expecting his first pitch shot to probably end up so uh a bit of a disaster for a Shambo on this hole right that’s the putt for the bogey six to come I’ve I almost completely forgot who he’s playing with there let alone what Max Homer’s doing on this hole but I’ve just remember Max Homer with his third hit that wonderful pitch that just held onto the back of the green so he’s been watching Des Shambo having a complete nightmare in the last 10 minutes or so but Max Homer has just kept himself away from it stood at the back of the 15th green and now he’s lining this putt up from the back right of the 15th green and he’s standing there with two feet across the line and just sort of bending his knees and trying to get the the the read yeah he’s using the aimo method basically just trying to figure out which foot is that much higher than the other to give himself a an idea of how much break it’s a very scientific method and and I must admit I’ve used it and it’s it’s very good and if you know exactly what you’re doing it’s a great way of knowing exactly how much a put is going to break still waiting for the shambo’s 25 footer here for a bogey six he’s currently at 5 under so it’s Homer John this is morawa on 17 from best part of 10 ft for his par and he’s got it that was a Steely par put from Colin morawa he was so unlucky that his initial birdie put horseshoe it was slung out as I say almost 10 ft away and he needed that boy did he need that to stay at 6 under and he’s got it so morawa big sigh of relief playing partner Cam Davis as well of course we shouldn’t forget about him he’s two under but morawa still in there on six under right Bryson Des Shambo is currently five under he is dropping at least one he needs this for the bogy 25 ft on the 15th after finding the water with his third steps away from it immediately he’s missed it to the right by a good few inches it rolls beyond the hole and that’s that putt again that’s that four-footer again that is absolutely no gimme and Bryson D Shambo has that for a double bogey seven it could still get worse yeah it’s amazing isn’t it these players are so in tune they know the moment they hit it these greens are so quick now if you just hit it too far up the the top side and it can’t take the break he was up and out of that he wasn’t a bad putt but just they’re so quick these greens and they’re just going to get quicker tomorrow Sheffer at 7even underp K Mora carwa Steely parut just made on the 17th as John Murray described at 6 under par Max Homer here is trying to get himself from just inside 20 ft from the back of the 15th green to 6 under par the Shambo could be dropping to three under par Homer’s put on the way down the slope on the 15th it was trying to turn and it turns just too late and it does that classic thing where it just grazes the edge of the hole rolls on by and ends up almost directly behind the hole actually that’s kept going a few feet as well and they they are they are devilishly quick you know on the Monday that the amateurs get to play this course would you fancy it this Monday putting like that Trish I’d have absolutely no chance and it can it can make them these great golfers at times look rather foolish and that is how Bryson Des Shambo has looked in front of our eyes one Duff shot and as Trish was saying it it was a Duff shot he missed with his second away to the right Duff the third into the water has this for the double bogey 7 at the par five 15th taking every care in from Bri to Shambo not a hole he will remember fondly and he walks off to the right of the green and actually credit to him as he’s shaking his head gets the Applause from the patrons and just dos the peak of his cap Max Homer here two-footer I would say maybe three-footer three-footer will say on the 15th for his par to stay at five under par within two of Scotty sheffer’s lead and then we’re straight off to the 17th Homer and Des Shambo after this with three holes to play Des Shambo has dropped back to three under Homer here to stay at five under from short range in it goes no mistake from Max Homer stays at five under par with the par John the world number one Scotty chefer the leader 7even under par his approach shot at 17 though has landed on the green the back left of the green and rolled on and off the back and as we know that is that is one of the places you do not want to be on the 17th so Scotty Sheffer off the back of the Green in two but a wonderful approach shot from Nikolai hyar who is now two under par and he has hit it to uh within 10 ft and will have a birdy chance to take him back to three under so this gripping third round continues to unfold and here’s the Applause here on the 17th for the leader the bearded Scotty Sheffer who will have to walk up onto the pudding surface and all the way across the back of the green do you want it back Ali well Max Homer and Bryson Des Shambo at the moment John are just studying yardage charts so I could try and describe that but if if you want to keep it they’re probably going to strike you on in about a minute or so on the PA 3 16th understood right so we’ll focus we’ll focus on hoard and Sheffer Sheffer just arriving at his ball now so there’ll be a little bit of a delay in fact while he does size it up Ian what have you got I’ve got ludvig oer on the 18th where he is putting for a birdie after one of the best approaches we’ve seen on this 18th hole today the news of Tommy Fleetwood I’m afraid not good he three puted the final green for a 72 so one under par o is looking for a birdie here that would get him to five under par and he is just going to settle over this now as I know Max Homer is settling over his t-shot on 16 so o now puts down the slope on 18 and just misses to the right he’ll have to settle for a par on this 18th and he will go into the final round at four underpart this remarkable swed on his major debut round in a two underp pass 70 Mark that action wherever you look here on the third round at austa uh and it will continue uninterrupted on sports extra on five live it’s time for the news and here on Sports extra John Scotty Sheffer standing eight yards off the back of the 17th green needs a needs a delicate touch this and it bounds down towards the hole and rolls on and rolls by and he has left himself probably best part of 10 ft given the angle that I’m watching from here standing up in our commentary box at the back of the stand 10 ft for for Sheffer to remain at 7 under what a time he’s had since reaching the turn at 7 under He Slipped to 5 under 4 under stayed at 4 under back to 6 under 6 under 7 under and then here on the 17th is on 7 under it has been an up and down time for the be Scotty Sheffer and as for his playing partner Nikolai hoard he is very calmly and quietly just standing to one side and now stepping forward to place his ball on the green it will be Hy guard to play first so U hoard ever so measured salmon pink shirt blue trousers just like Colin morawa who came through here a few moments ago it’s a popular combination and H God not unlike his his playing partner has had quite the time of it today he he is one of six men who have led either on their own or jointly on this third round that’s how dramatic it’s been that’s how it’s to and fro and now with long shadow cast behind him Hoy God this for Birdie on 17 it is just by on on the right I’ve seen that put today I’ve seen that put and I thought that one was in and somehow it just shave the right side but once you P this hole here from that direction from that angle it just keeps going and he does have a 4 footer maybe 5T to remain at two under apart so he steps to one side and now it’s Scotty Sheffer we’ve got big crowds now around the 17th so we should do as well with only one more group out on the course Max Homer and Bry and dambo to come behind us currently Sheffer has the lead on seven under leading by one shot from Colin maracaba who’s currently playing the 18th so this this moment is all important on this third round afternoon stroke evening here at Augusta in this lovely warm sunshine this is all of 10 ft this is a real test of his credentials that we know so much about and he has not made it and again that has just caught the edge and rolled away by 3 feet 3 and 1/2 ft it’s not dead yet it is not dead yet and we if you’ve been listening all evening you know that Scotty Sheffer today has been susceptible so he will drop back at least to 600 at least into a share of the lead with Colin morawa you have to keep it watching and listening to the action this afternoon I’ve got a huge scoreboard to my right here one of the big famous white scoreboards with the red numbers and uh you know you have to keep switching from one to the other because the picture has changed so quickly this is hoard now hoard this for his Par Four which he gets at 17 so haard Ian remains at two under here on 17 Scotty Sheffer still got his short one to remain uh to make sure that he doesn’t drop any further back than to 6 under but you are watching marawa yeah up the 18th just played his second shot and missing the green to the left finding the bank on the left side and kicking off into the crowd so marawa will need to get up and down to remain at six under par one shot behind Scotty Sheffer Alli Bryson Des Shambo clearly rattled after the double bogey seven at the 15th he’s put his birdie put on the 16th 12 ft by Max Homer still to putt he’s at five under John and Scotty Sheffer does roll it in and makes sure that it is just the one shot dropped here at 17 so there we go again another change right at the top Sheffer drops a shot after going through the back of the green at 17 and he turns and he walks away puts his hand in his left pocket down the slope heads towards the 18th green and now the lead is shared again between Sheffer and morawa but if Max Homer can hold this part up the hill from the bottom portion of the 16th green for a birdie he will then be in a three-way tie for the lead and that is exactly where we were at the start of the day admittedly with three different golfers Max Homer P that looks really good from here very good for Pace certainly doesn’t drop just Glides by the hole so at the start of the day we had Homer Des Shambo and shefflin now we’ve got Sheffer at 6 under Mori car at 6 under Max Homer is at five under uh Bryson D Shambo is back to three under he’s got about 12T to come how close was Homer there Trish did you get a look at how close he he ended up yeah he’s about 3 feet it was a really good putt I think he got a really good read off of uh his playing partner D Shambo um who just absolutely Muller it through the Break um well that was a good effort never really had a chance but I can’t believe Max Homer is not going to at this rate he’s still going to be probably one shot off the lead not a single birdie in the whole round yeah yeah started the round at 600 and yeah you can see the numbers across the board loads and loads and loads of pars the drop shot at the par 312 but he continues to par his way around since then Ian you can probably hear around us here they are already clearing up so you got the uh the green shirted blue baseball capped uh employees of austa with their litter bags draped over their shoulders their uh litter Grabbers in their hands picking the litter up here in the 15th grand stand D Shambo waiting to put on the 16th Ian just to say that Colin morawa has arrived at the 18th green his ball in amongst the spectators a horseshoe of them has been uh arranged and he is now watching up towards the flag and the landing areas and walking all the way across to the other side of that 18th green the flag is fluttering animatedly in the breeze and he Chomps away on his gum and this is a this is a delicate one Andrew McGee yes aren’t they all um today I think this is the this is the fastest screens I’ve ever seen all delicate it’s amazing some of these lip outs that have picked up speed past the hole meanwhile back on the 18th T Scotty Sheffer fires his t- shot High into the Clear Blue Skies you’ve not seen a cloud all day long here at austa and that is a beautiful t- shot from the world number one and it comes to rest in the shade of the Pines slap in the middle of the Fairway meanwhile up ahead in the shade created by the crowd around this green here off a downhill Li is Colin morawa two times a major Champion looking to become a Masters winner for the first time playing his Chip Shot and looks to have judged it beautifully that is a sensational piece of touch around this 18th green and a little touch of the knuckles with his caddy JJ and then he’ll walk up take take the Putter and he’s left himself with 2 and 1/2 3 ft tops to save PA what a touch of a maestro there beautiful yeah beautiful shot wow just seeing a replay of it again now that was dead dead on for distance and the ball just coming to rest underneath the hole couple of feet to the right Mark and it would be fair to say that whilst Kara carer is thriving while Scotty Sheffer has rested skewed things just like Nikolai hoard Bryson to Shambo is going backwards Alli yeah he’s potentially played himself out of the M I wouldn’t want to call it quite like that just yet but the 15th 16th has been hugely costly for him double bogey seven at the par 5 15th has been followed by a three pup bogey at the 16th so he’s played the two holes in 11 shots he’s gone back to two under par but Max Homer meanwhile Trish Johnson just Glides serenely along as you say got a good read off the Des Shambo left himself a three-footer for the par makes that for par five under par he is at the moment just one shot off the lead yeah it’s interesting isn’t it he’s always difficult I think on when you have you have a really low round on Saturday to then back it up on Sunday is always tricky but Max Homer if he gets him one shot off the lead and he’s not made a single birdie today he’s going to come out tomorrow and think you know what I’m ju and birdies and it really could be in a really good position they have headed to the 17th Mark and we will be heading back in uh and we’ll head to the 18th where Colin maraa is looking to tidy you up to finish on 6 under and end with a three under par 69 and we’ve just seen a wonderful Puck from just off the back Edge from Cam Davis who’s not out of this 73 today for Cam Davis so he is at two underpar and now moroa looking to capitalize on that wonderful touch from the downhill Li from off the left of the green with a wonderful Chip Shot this is just a couple of feet to save his PA putts from the shadow of his right leg and knocks the ball into the hole well done Colin morawa he’s been away from the big time for far too long for a man of his talents but he’s got a huge day tomorrow because he’s knocked it round here in 69 and he posed six under par and he holds the clubhouse lead with his co-leader Scotty Sheffer back down the Fairway on the 18th but that was a terrific performance from morawa opening up with three straight birdies at the start of his round and then holding it together as condition and the course just grew more and more difficult as the day wore on Andrew that I mean that that back n that back nine is is remarkably consistent well all pars only one bogey all day long that’s a remarkable golf really really great stuff for the two-time major Champion obviously he’s got the pedigree he knows how to close these kind of deals um he looks very Serene very calm out there when you can just your nerves you know Insider just jumping about uh absolutely stunning round of golf in position for possibly a green jacket Max H meanwhile is on the 17th T this 440 yd par for he did have a birdie on this hole in the first round he’s looking for his first birdie of the day and again on that low trajectory he sends a boring t- shot now by that I mean boring through the air just fading from left to right beautiful control from the American and he’s in Prime position on on The Fairway on the penultimate hole now what can Bryson Des Shambo do here his spirits will be scattered aunder after what’s happened on 15 and 16 he’s got the driver out very rigid stance that he has launches into it way way higher trajectory from the big hitting American the ball lands down the right hand side and clings onto the Fairway and that is absolutely monstrous from Bryson to Shambo isn’t it John well that cannot be far away from where he hit it yesterday and I know cat DS was here and she was telling me that was eventually measured at 372 yards and that must be more or less in the same place wasn’t it in yeah it must be it’s it’s gone absolutely miles I’m just watching Nikolai hoard on the 18th with his approach of course it’s just gone to pieces for him from the moment he took the lead lead briefly after the 10th hole he’s been going backwards and he’s missed the green on 18 going through the back back left of the 18th now Andrew this second shot for Scotty shefer it was an excellent t- shot from the world number one yep right down the stripe line in the middle of the faway he’s taking dead aim here I’d expect to see this just a little bit left of this pin which for the fat of the green is Mr Mr iron guy this guy has been just doing this for years and years just knocking these things 162 yards left amazing to think he’s still only 27 years of age wife Meredith in the final throws of pregnancy as well so it’s all happening in the life of Scotty Sheffer at the moment and all he’s thinking about right now is this second shot from 162 yards oh it’s an absolute Beauty oh it lands just short of the flag carries the bunker guarding the front right and then runs just by the hole and he’s given him s what five six feet tops for birdie absolutely brilliant brilliant performance and shot there from Scotty she Best Shot we’ve seen coming into 18 of course the drive set it all up the momentum set it all up after that eagle on 13 that stunning Eagle that turned this round around for Scotty Sheffer fantastic stuff out here on a Saturday afternoon with Sanders baking back to the 17th John Max Homer in the shadows of one of the huge trees this is his approach shot to 17 and he lands it right at the front of the green that’s excellent there was not much room to play with there the flag here the hole is only 11 Paces on and he Landed It equidistant between the front of the green and the hole just to the left actually and it pulled up as well that’s significant and Homer does have a chance here a real life chance of perhaps that first birdie of the day he is five under one shot off the lead and with him Bryson dambo probably 30 yards further on this is the most Mammoth t- shot that we’ve seen here and he also lands it right at the front left of the green it bounces a couple of short Hops and then just gets a little bit of grab and rolls back just off the the front of the green so it’s on the apron of the green on the front left but he will have a shot there across the front of the the green now the shoulder the bunker doesn’t get in the way there and he will have a chance here a long long allbe it outside chance of a birdie but the Applause here the Applause here at 17 still hundreds and hundreds of people either in the stand or around behind the ropes ringing this 17th green and giving the two of them the final pair out on this third round evening and evation as they come on to the green so puts to comian saw a fantastic evation just there while uh your guys were playing John for both both of the players who’ve just arrived Nikolai hoard but most especially for Scotty sheffron I get the sense that the American golfing public are really warming to Sheffer now they obviously saw him win this two years ago but the fact that he’s made himself such a dominant figure in the world game being recognized by all of the fans who rose out of their little picnic chairs to uh stand and applaud as he came up onto the 18th green yeah we need some stars in America and he is our guy right now Scotty Sheffer I think he’s looking like Johnny Miller back in the early 70s just knocking the flag sticks down with these iron shots he’s earn EP he’s earned his stripes to become a star hasn’t he yes he has here is Nikolai hyar putting from off the back of the green this doesn’t look too bad at all as it comes down the slope turns from left to right it’s just run on a little further than he would have liked maybe 7 ft something like that to save par hoard who got to seven under par with a brilliant birdie putt on the 10th and then Fred five shots away so he’s back at two underpar it’s been a really ragged back nine for Nikolai hoard we’ve got Scotty sheffer’s birdie putt coming up here John but what do you see D Shambo from just off the green for birdie and it rolls by on the right and keeps going and he’s got a five sixf footer for his par dambo to remain at two under that’s going to be a very very important put for the American after the trials and tribulations of 15 and 16 which have severely dented his chances of uh an XL Green Jacket being draped on those very broad muscular shoulders right they know the size for Scotty Sheffer in fact they don’t need to get a new one he’s got one hanging in the Champions locker room right now but will it be going over his shoulders again in the butler cabin tomorrow will John Ram be popping that onto the shoulders of Scotty Sheffer this for the outright lead after a brilliant approach shot it’s only 5 ft little bit of left to right sends it on its way turns towards the hole disappears into the hole there’s the clench Fist from Scotty Sheffer and the world number one he’s had a pretty tortuous route today but he has plotted his way to the top of the lead board and as it stands the outright lead going into the final round the hot favorite at the start of the week is going to lead going into the final round at seven underp pass Scotty Sheffer round in a one underp pass 71 on this most tricky of Saturdays here at the Augusta National and if Matt Homer had gone birdy birdie to finish he would have managed to keep up with Scotty Sheffer but here at 17 John that put for possibly his first birdie of the day was so close but didn’t drop Bryson D shampo now does make his par for so D shampo remains on two under and Max Homer another one that has slipped by but as Trish said earlier I’m sure he will have that feeling that he’s old a few when it comes to tomorrow and he’s still got the 18th to play yet but the the big bearded popular very popular Max Homer with his royal blue shirt on just has to finish this off from 2 and 1/2 3 ft here on the 17th with the birds tweeting Away In the Pines H rolls it in yep safely in for another par so he remains at 500 and playing partner Bryson D Shambo who was who was six under as he stepped onto the 11th T now he’ll step onto the 18th T at two under and he is well he’s not played himself out of it has he marked but he uh he’s got a lot to do tomorrow he needs a lot to go his way yes and the problems for Bry and Des Shambo were just 15 16 as he double bed 15 and bed 16 and all of a sudden he fell out of the race at that point and interestingly here they’ve put the seven up for Scotty Sheffer but everybody’s so interested in getting out to the grand stand they’ve barely noticed that the world number one has taken the outright lead of the 88th Masters as Max Homer and Bryson Des Shambo make their way to the 18th te one of the great reactions here I know you saw it as well at 15 and 16 when uh when Sheffer got his ego there was a great reaction went it up people were people were literally gasping open mouthed and putting their hands on their heads in in amazement when Sheffer got that eagle it is always one of the it’s always one of the great pleasures of being at the Masters as you said for anyone who’s just switched on you know people the only way that people can keep in touch on the cour here because you’re not allowed to bring iPads devices anything like that iPhones you have to follow the scoreboards it is an absolute throwback anyway Ian if you are um if you’ve got your sites trained on uh on the pictures if you’re live then uh you haven’t well I’ll I’ll tell you when yes we are oh you are good good right excellent well they’re about to uh they’re about to tee off here on 18 so there it is there it is on its way from Max Homer and the result is it’s into the middle of the Fairway again that low trajectory I’ve really enjoyed watching the way that he’s golfed his ball off the tea today Max Homer just not had anything happen for him on the green he’s created so many opportunities but in terms of ball striking he’s been really superb today on this second round day one over par for his round no birdies just the one drop shot and the final t- shot of the day is going to belong to Bryson Des Shambo and we’ve only seen four birdies all day on this 18th hole the most recent of course that one from Scotty Sheffer the shot of the day for me in many respects his approach into the 18th because he knew what a massive blow he could strike with a birdie on the final hole today here comes Des shambo’s t- shot oh that’s gone right and into the tree and we can’t see it so there could be some big trouble here for dambo as he marches off this 18th T just a final word from from you John from what you’ve seen in your Eerie over 17 I suspect you’ve seen the colors of the of the greens just just change in their Hue as the day has gone on as they become crispier and more difficult as uh as the day has progressed yeah it’s been I must say it there’s been a fascinating watch here on on 17 you know it’s not where the it’s not where the fireworks take place at all on the uh on the Augusta National but to see how they’ve dealt with this when the whole position has been like it is just over that front bunker we we’ve seen we’ve seen them truly truly tested by the the the the whole location today and uh and now just watching the the final pair Max Homer just a little behind Bryson dambo and what struck me as well watching him come in and out of 17 how very perky he has remained you know quick steps quick movements he’s not messing about in his uh in his very pale Dusty pink shirt and he’s the first one who’s leading the way down the 18th so um let’s see what lies ahead of them on the 18th I think by the way if he does get a green jacket I suspect it’ll need to be more than XL won’t it yeah I suppose so XXL I don’t know American sizes I mean EXL might do it I don’t know that’s a good point that is a good point he’s in a spot bother though isn’t he Andrew McGee off the te he is just over swinging it looks like here at the end and I don’t blame him he’s super frustrated and um let’s see if he’s got any shot at all if he can muster some little strength he’s got left for making a par in this hole uh but that looked like it almost hit a tree right off the tea but it missed that first tree and ended up deep in the Magnolia and the Pines on the right and uh I’m sure he’s just ready to get this round over with and do you feel that the the vagaries of of Augusta National just sort of finally caught up with dambo in a sense you know I always find him a little bit of a one this this will sound harsh and I don’t mean it to but compared with other players he does seem a little one-dimensional well I think he walked off a 15t thinking he’s going to go for this thing and two no matter what and he got up there and he’s behind those trees on the left and he’s just still going to go for it and hit a slinging 40 yard hook that didn’t hook and ended up in a you know not not such a bad place and he just didn’t execute just a really odd decision though yeah I mean that’s where he needed his patience he’s still in the tournament there’s golf tomorrow to play um that that was just a terrible a terrible decision to make um show some patience you know don’t try to over muscle everything austa National won’t let you do that no it will catch up with you uh it will’ll certainly catch up with you the players are arriving uh at at their balls and I I can tell you that Bryson Des Shao is in a awful position here down the right hand side there’s a huge magnolia tree and he’s stuck underneath that it looks like he’s ready uh to play here from the pine needles gives it a firm Smash and we didn’t hear any other noise so the ball does emerge out into the evening sunlight and the ball has come to rest on The Fairway a good what 80 90 yard s at least short of the green the flag located in the back right corner of this very famous closing hole at the Augusta National Mark the the scene there it must be a bit like the pi Piper of those leaving 17 and finding a way to get back up the hill and catch the last vestages of action here uh well yeah the gallery is absolutely empty here and uh it’s very difficult from this position uh on the uh the Gantry above the 17th green SC get a a a perfect view of the 18th Fairway because of the trees but what you can see if you peer through them in the sunlight you can see the galleries the patrons around that 18th green probably 20 25 deep at the moment they are and they’re all collectively oooing and aring for Max Homer because Homer’s just hit his second shot and has found the bunker green side bunker for Max homer so frustration for the American and he’s going to have to get up and down from there and he he kind of threatens to slam the the the club into the bag but that’s not really Max Homer’s style is it I just wonder what’s going through the Mind Trish of Bryson Des shanbo as he makes his way up here because that tactical error on 15 compounded by the drop shot on 16 now trouble on 18 it’s all rather ragged yeah 15 was an extraordinary decision it really was um me and Ally were watching from obviously up in the up in the stands and from where he was I just thought well he he has to be laying up and then you saw him swing and you’re thinking M no that’s not a layup swing and I mean I reckon the chances of pulling that off were one in about 500 if that and uh obviously the duff chip was just just compounded the misery and um and then the three p on 16 well yeah he will be reeling at this stage of the game they’re coming up to 4 and 1 half hours for this round as a two ball and they were comfortably behind Scotty sheer and Nikolai hoard in the group before so out of position really they’re messing with American television schedules terms of their pace of play but uh here we go third shot for Bryson Des Shambo from the left side of the Fairway the flag as I say in that back right corner so he’s got plenty of green to work with a good angle to attack third shot to the par four and he swings through three quarters back three quarters through oh flies it all the way turns and it oh and the arms go Aloft and what a moment to cap the climax of the third round here at the Masters he all smiles as he looks at his caddy and he hugs his caddy takes the cap from his head and takes a bow that ball just turned at right angles and then zipped into the bottom of the cup what a moment Ry and Des Shao with the most unlikely birdie imaginable to propel himself back into the mix said the Masters wow we it’s a 75 in the end it gets him back to three under par and he’s within four of the lead wow we seen it all today what a finish here he comes up on to the 18th green he waves and they’re all standing they’re all Che cheering they’re all hooping and hollering and well they might he raises his left left hand slightly bashful smile looks for his pitch mark he’ll repair that but first he’s going to take the ball from the cup and he’ll show it to the crowd and that will be someone’s souvenir I’m sure and well worth having fireworks to the very end we’re just going to see a replay of this shot talkers through it Andrew McGee oh my goodness I just I was just going to say he was had his eyes closed and he was shaking his head then all of a sudden he does backs it up into the hole for a unlikely birdie what a finish a 75 I wasn’t even sure what the number was going to be 77 I don’t know wow still back in the tournament three under four back extraordinary isn’t it but unbelievable and and just literally with that one shot he’s gone from almost you know thinking well I’m done and dusted I hate this place to I can’t wait to get back out there again tomorrow now Max Homer from The Bunker and he threatens to hold that for verie as well the bunker just to the right of the green couldn’t quite get enough purchase on it to make it stick on that downward slope and now he’s got 7 ft to save his par there here we go again all day long 7 foot for par par par P these guys are going to be exhausted yeah after this time to sit down and have a beer those cheers you’re hearing are because obviously American TV is playing this over and over again because it’s one of the magic moments of this Masters the ball just sort of went beyond the hole it came back on an angle from basically 2:00 and straight into the middle of the clock straight into the middle of the hole yeah just a fantastic finish and you know what I I kind of think he deserved that cuz on 15 after he made a seven me and allly were up there and most players would have been just beside themselves and he did allly said he doed his cap when he just had a little bit of Applause and you thought you know what fair play to you mate that’s yeah that’s quite classy you know on the first day when he came up and he shot that brilliant first round 66 he came up he took the cap from his head as he was walking up and then the Applause started and he’d forgotten that his capat wasn’t on his head and then he went and touched the peak of his cat that wasn’t [Laughter] there he looked a bit of a DK at that point has to be said but he’s feeling on top of the world right now after a really torturous spell there the double bogy obviously at 15 the bogey at 16 Mark out out there on the course that that must have been some sound to hear uh yes that that certainly rolled all the way back down uh 18 to was and as as you kind have said Andrew and TR all of a sudden that changes his psychology for tomorrow I’ll let them just address that point in just a second mark because here’s Max Homer looking to save par on 18 yes and a big fist pump there that meant an awful lot to Max Homer he couldn’t find a birdie for love nor money just the one drop shot at the 12th so a round of 73 and he’s contending for a masters for the first time here at Augusta in 2024 that par means he finishes up at five underpar he’s in third place two behind the leader Scotty Sheffer what fantastic Golf and drama we have seen on this 18th right at the end of this day Sheffer with a brilliant birdie to take the outright lead morawa cool as you like completing a 69 for six under Homer coolly getting up and down for his um par to remain at five under par and dambo holding his third shot from a well over a 100 yards on the final hole to get to three underpar within one of ludvig OB who’s at four underpar wow we were real treat real treat at the end of the day and what a day it’s been and what a day has been indeed I mean I think John Murray gave the SAT Trish didn’t he that seven different men have either held the lead six is it okay six sorry I tried to make it more dramatic than it was six men have either held the lead individually uh or collectively over the course of the afternoon yeah honestly I think that’s one of the most extraordinary days of golf I’ve ever seen at Augusta personally um in perfect conditions but the golf course is getting tougher and tougher as Andrew alluded to the greens are like glass and I don’t think I’ve ever seen more good shots followed up with more absolute atrociousness I mean poor old hoard you he gets to 7even under he’s leading and as soon as he sees his it’s almost as though he saw his name leading on that Leaderboard on 11 he just went uhuh that’s not my comfort zone right now and then five consecutive but Bogies it’s just this golf course can do it to you and do you know what I don’t I know they know the pin positions tomorrow but I don’t think it’s going to be playing any easier the the other one as well which I think Mark was what happened when you were on the way from 15 to here that me one of the one of the incidents of the day I mean Ryan Fox I just don’t know how he’ll be feeling now he was he was um he was level par level par and his ball bounced just in front of the hole here hit the flag bounced back into the bunker he could have been in in two he ended up taking a seven and I mean you know if that hasn’t happened if that goes in for two he’s he’s right in contention is is that anyway that at the end of this dramatic afternoon which has been fantastic and has swung this way and that there’s just a sense in anybody that at the end of it oh the world number one is one shot ahead of everybody else and really it’s his to lose I don’t think so in my opinion uh mark because what we’ve seen today is how quickly things can change how much capacity there is for inspiration and also for things to go dramatically wrong and and Sheffer in the course of his round showed that even he even he with his magnificent ball striking is not immune to that he was the one who uh who who struggled at certain times obviously double bogging the tenth dropping a shot at the 11th held it together brilliantly the eagle on the the 13th was was Sensational he picked up his birdie as you should do on the 15th and then showed the Hallmarks of a champion with his birdie at the 18th but if he is to win a second Green Jacket he is going to have to play some really really good golf on a very very demanding Golf Course tomorrow with as I say that potential for anything to happen and the chasing Packers of a pretty high quality as well so no I don’t think it’s it’s all over by any stretch of the imagination okay uh thank you all the drama tomorrow then across five live and sports extra uh commentary of the final round from 8:00 here’s Lisa mccom
