Tom taught me how to keep my hamstring
intact which is nice um can’t take my
off rugby Le should be absolutely
applauding that he’s
playing a market dream I just assumed
because she was about 12 she could swim
so oh no this is in the
water this is the madest place on the
planet dancing the only show where
you’re allowed to do it without shoes
Andrew Jones one of the greatest players
of all time cuddles and kisses go a long
way especially when you’re in trouble ah
the horse of B look at the big fellow
going be want to fire very horny and
very aggressive to put that to where
Sydney stay class I love everyone for
making me feel this
good hello there hope you’re having a
great week welcome to Freddy in the eth
on the eve of a spectacular day of Roby
league on Anzac Day very important day
for the nation Brad fitler’s played in
many Anzac Day clashes Andrew Johns has
commentated many of them welcome jent
hey Matt it’s going to be a great day
sold out at alance it’s going to be
fantastic it’s going to be a beautiful
day apparently
um what goes on before it sets the scene
up and I think the two teams are
absolutely primed great commemorations
for our service people past and present
a game over in New Zealand as well which
is a nice touch just before we go any
further I just had a look at the form
guide for Fred in the E before he came
in here it says Andrew John’s last raced
as a cult racing today as a gilding
that’s right there he
is how s gr this this part of the
recovery process Andrew this has been
the last couple of
days we need to get an
iceberg that’s after his weight long
band ends you I wish it would have
happened 30 years
ago I don’t Newcastle don’t say that
your children will be watching oh yeah
that’s they’re
cool um theate Chang it’s been a
humbling few days uh you feeling okay
well I got the cushion down here he’s
not walking real well yeah my days of
daddy
daddy producing
gone uh you have one every decade so you
still alive Matt H are you still alive
you actually asked me about it Dr
Richards at Prince of
WS so 2third of this land is hopeless
now if you’re looking for a if you’re
looking for a gilding procedure Dr Rich
is normally you put two four stitches
and you had to put about
16 Wishes in your sack
exactly just as you getting World down
the ha you’re going into theater you
start
[Laughter]
going yeah can I did you go under for it
y yeah that the last I don’t think
there’d be an option not to no there is
they can do it in local what yeah oh no
way sitting there watching so with at
the risk of going into areas we
shouldn’t here what does the procedure
involve well they do something with the
tubes they cut the tube right so they
to oh well when the little fell swimming
comes to a dam and doesn’t go any
further go back
up okay yeah thanks for explaining that
something about that um sort of over the
weekend thank you to all the doctors
doctors and particularly the nurses who
looked after Andrew oh yes over the
weekend you would have seen Tom trich
make that that skull gesture and we were
sort of thinking on the face of it all
it’s a salute to the old old days of the
footage show not entirely true a young
by the name of Bo huitt from the
monovale
Raiders has recently been diagnosed with
stage four cancer it’s such a terrible
terrible story of course that’s um
that’s the trovich boys Junior Club the
monovale Raiders and Bo asked if they
scored a try for that’s gold and that
was that was for Bo well it doesn’t
surprise you with the tro everyone know
in Robie L knows they such lovely young
men from a great family one of I first
move to the north side when I moved from
Newcastle my young fellow was playing at
Mell Raiders said my young play your
player yeah so they’ play on the Sunday
morning or Saturday mornings Saturdays
Saturday morning so anyway Jake was
playing NR Ro just started and then Tom
was killing it in the under 20 you go
there down there for the under 6s at
8:00 a.m. they’d be there fantastic
they’d be in the Kos sometimes they’ be
running the lines doing the linesman and
they’d be there all day well they were
so Zach was there six years ago and Jake
was actually coaching the under 16s
wasn’t that fantastic I remember a few
years back calling a reserve grade Grand
Final on Grand final day and they were
both there on the sideline the old man
used to John so he was the like the
president for ages down there so you
know you’re committed then to setting up
and so all the boys used to get down
there and help out hey Bo we’re thinking
of you mate yeah all the very best it’s
obviously very difficult for you and
your family but with support like uh the
trovich boys hopefully you can fight it
to the best of your ability we’re
thinking of you that’s gold means we
have to segue into some of the chief’s
best work is uh ch’s getting married is
isn’t he oh here we go anyway he’s Chief
he’s the chiefo I know he’s engaged yeah
you’re the father You’ be
happy he’s a little fell is he going to
that he wouldn’t be UPL enough to do
that’s gold isn’t that good
you know what used that that’s that one
that’s the Golden Slipper they used to
be everywhere
King where where have they got the king
doing that’s go that’s fantastic they
used to be everywhere people have do it
all over the world can we get the Footy
Show back I said to the bosses at night
a week leading into the semis Thursday
nights and then leading in the Grand
Final Nostalgia going back get the fat
we can’t afford the fat that’s the and
then we got to make him work fat sterer
Daryl st’s retired and chief get him all
back you should be you you and the fat
should do it no no get get get the gang
back together man get the Boodles back
together W you this W you the focal
point of the rebooted foot show ah yeah
hey we’re going to play Guess Who so the
clues are going to look like this who’s
this person
Freddy
okay hang on is underneath those
underneath this Sydney
City where’s the dollar
sign who is
this this was a hard one I got it you
don’t do you Trent hodkinson well done
Brad what
yeah remember he remember he kicked the
one that scored the try and kicked the
goal in the origin uh right this
one
2005 well like C this
like you’re good well I was coaching
around 2007 yeah so 2007
2009 Nate miles it is Nate
miles show me the Nate miles how many
clubs he’s played for so so here before
you look at that Andrew here’s the Trent
hodkinson
one and well combined here now remember
remember hodkinson and in 2014 he and
Reynolds were the hars for Lor he scored
the try scored the try and kicked the
I can’t remember hwo applying for the
newcast
yeah I remember I remember play in fact
there there is proof he
did that’s the Ros dog oh here it is
here it is bang
dummy what about that can you remember
Nate mes playing for the storm yeah no I
was right at the end right of the death
I’m not even sure how many games he
would have played can you remember Tren
Hopkins playing for the sh no I can’t
remember that I don’t remember I can’t
remember him I can’t remember him
finishing but I remember Newcastle
and know what interesting Trent
Hawkinson has played three games for new
play that
series what an impact sorry uh Nate M I
can’t remember him plan for Manley
either yeah well we just S I remember
him plan for
Manley unfashionable sort of player TR
Hinson but did a very good job in that
series you know what had bad it was a
great goal yeah like it wasn’t easy that
was an it’s a tough kick he nailed it y
it was four all he nailed it and he they
scored late or in what six or seven
minutes to go to lock it up and then
kick the goal and then won the series
end of the remember they won the series
that was a big big night boys there are
some some players yeah in the game that
are universally respected I say d fukan
is right up there what an absolute
Champion he’s been grand finals at
canbury and then won a Premiership at
Melbourne he was very emotional in
announcing his retirement yesterday
after 251 games he said he exhausted
every Avenue to try and get back after a
series of head knocks but eventually
called time on what’s been a career
where he has achieved so
much really it’s a miracle he got to 32
the way he trained tell us about the way
he trained well you just got to
understand from the time he walks in
it’s just professional it’s whatever you
need to do it’s the job so you walk in
he’s stretching so any kid that walks in
all you got to do is follow him and he
would teach you straight away how to get
the best out of yourself it’s what
everyone talks about now is getting the
best out of yourself he does it and is
able to keep his humility he’s good to
be around he’s good fun he’s like he
just it comes so natural to him but he
he would train with the intensity in
which he played yeah once you’re on the
field yeah he’s that’s why I’m saying it
is a miracle he got to 30 too because I
can honestly say I’ve never seen anyone
train with the intensity he did well
used to train so what happens was it was
nearly a joke where he would strap up
for training like he would have again so
he’d have bicep things on tape around
his shoulders taper in his head he just
laugh Sprint just m as soon as he got on
the training P he would just
Sprint onto the field and be going that
hard what a PL I thought the the quote
from Craig Bellamy
about he made
it he made the club better from going
there was there something like that well
you look at fit the three people fit
signed K Kennis Dar fuken n and niik
hind someone win you the games and the
two others they purely there just to
show everyone how to become a
professional great stings like he was
the and fzy said that he said we aren’t
the
same if Doan nukan isn’t here we’re just
not the same toam yeah
could have played more
origin uh or can I had him we had him
for a couple of years you did yeah he
was injured during that period as well
so there was a few injuries there at
different times um but he played in the
one in Perth yeah that’s right he got
brought into that game you just think
he’s his mentality is made for that
arena with that that hard Edge well you
got to think though you got a couple in
New South WS you got Jake trovich you
got him so you know they’ve sort of
similar
players look at he running back there Mr
int playing front row look at
that lovely black he started front
R what he have weighed 95 96 maybe
100 even G you talking about the
training the intensity lot Paul gall’s
around for being a maniacal trainer he
said that he’s never seen anyone train
like fuka and that will have a lasting
impression that’s what G said yeah man
he straps up long said he has got his
guards on everywhere what he wears in a
game he just whacks it on let’s go sort
of like that it doesn’t matter what
he’ll do next he’ll be successful
because he’s got that work eort so good
luck to him will he go into coaching of
course he’s not a bad singer and
guitarist AR I think he’s the sort of BL
that I could imagine could go into
strength and
conditioning you just you got to have
him around a club he’s he’s honest
hardworking F it’s pretty tricky even
some of the players that have retired
that um you think would just roll on
into other jobs I know he’s uh he’s got
the fact he’s retired medically how does
that all work with insurance and stuff
but I’m not sure I think they walk you
know cuz he had another year after this
year he signed 25 man it’s not easy
retirement’s not easy for for
footballers in general I actually talked
to Gus about um fukin retirement and he
compared him with Josh Jackson who I
think what they spent time at the B
together well Josh Jackson um has become
the Jersey Fleet coach at can and G says
he is off the charge like a future NRL
coach without any question really yeah
so he’s absolutely brilliant isn’t that
good and you you know players like that
you think of what he does it train well
the attitude he takes to train it you
know you got to fill that somewhere and
coaching is normally good because you do
you get a pretty good ride out of
coaching there’s plenty involved in it
plenty of ups and downs and if
if he was in the origin Squad he get a
guitar out and you could all sit around
the fire and sing together go horseback
riding
that’s I’ve never seen BR you yeah is is
um you don’t want to watch it heed was
yeah Jak what’s Gilden Hall yeah yeah be
more like soft porn for you um what and
day give us a tomorrow
you you’re you’re useless me no good to
you
I wish I wish they cut it off years ago
it’s one of the great days of
[Music]
calendar we’ll be at aliance tomorrow
for the dragons and the roosters it’ll
be a very special afternoon it’s the day
our great game remembers the stage just
said it’s game on anac day an epic anac
day double Rugby League at absolute best
the dragons in sizzling form that was
magical can the roosters stop their
Anzac rivals play Then in prime time can
the bunny shock the storm Blockbuster
Anzac Day footy live and free on 9 and N
now it’s obviously a very significant
day for the nation and Sport plays a
massive part in that Anzac Day tomorrow
joining us on Freddy and the eth a guest
that combines our Affinity with the arm
services and our love of sport and a
very familiar surname as well joining us
is
Michaela trovich uh cherished member of
our Armed Forces who’s joining us live
from Townsville Michaela it is so nice
to talk to you here on Freddy in the E
of course your surname would suggest
that you’re part of a very famous Ria
League family yeah I found myself uh to
be a trage so here I am um thank you
very much for having me now the trbovich
are all very different which one do you
suit are you like
a jake a Tom or their other brother Luke
which one do you like um being 5’5 um
and having the thighs size of a
watermelon I definitely say um about
Jake you’re about Jake do he love
tackling very much so very much so uh
Michaela why the Army why did you join
the Army um it was in my family for
Generations obviously a lot of people’s
grandparents or great-grandparents have
served I’ve always had had the love for
a challenge and having that family
connection um that love for a challenge
and then just wanting to go out and
explore Australia um and as well as
serve with people that have the same
mindset just made me want to join now
I’m assuming you haven’t gone to
battle not yet now does that scare you
or would you be honored to go into
battle uh very much so honored um I
think a lot of people understand the
sacrifice that they give when they join
the services I’ve lived in three
different cities now whilst being a part
of the um Armed Forces so I think that
whole sacrifice that you give to your
family is very much worth it for when
you are overseas and you realize that
what you are doing is for the better of
everyone that’s back home uh you play
rugby league tell us about the
comparisons with the qualities uh of
leadership with playing rugby league and
also being in the
Army uh very much so like helps hand in
hand I think the best experience I’ve
had is playing alongside girls that do
serve so playing in that ADF side
everyone has that similar mindset of
wanting to be the best that they can be
as an individual but as well as better
everyone else around them that’s being
Air Force Navy or Army though Army is
the um the better service I will say um
but it’s very much so they work hand
inand and the captain of an ADF side is
more of an honor because that shows that
you can lead within your profession as
well can you can lead on the field
wonderful and the ADF women’s team that
you’re part of actually played in the
national championships at the start of
the year which we’re watching some
vision from now yeah we did um really
well to come together um I think we had
like a less than a week to train and we
were from all over the country we’ve got
girls from Darwin uh we got girls from
Townsville we’ve got girls from Sydney
um some girls play each week some girls
don’t and this is their only chance to
showcase the NRL what they can do and I
think with the emerging competition
that’s going on for the females
it’s it’s an amazing opportunity for
service women um as well as men getting
those chances to do anac day um curtain
races games Freddy how would you like to
coach a team from the Armed Forces I
reckon they would be the hardest
trainers oh we know they’d be on time
very true very much so is that uh how
important is that like you know the
discipline in in playing in a team sport
especially when you get to that uh next
level is it like that with the Army like
do you have people just you know dawling
in late or how is that all perceived uh
if you are dawling in late um you’re
very much going to have a Stern chat to
when you get when you finally arrive to
work um but playing alongside girls that
do serve we do like to have a bit of fun
when we are in Camp or playing however
the professional side of things
definitely does stick around um where
like you said our training and our
discipline with the ball like if we have
a few accidents that um training we
already know the punishments that are
going to come our way are both going to
be on the field and off the field so
we’re very much so professional in that
sense outside where you are the the how
would you describe it an army camp is
that where you Barra Barrack outside the
way we we celebrate us civilians
celebrate Anzac Day within the barracks
what does Anzac Day mean to people
within the the barracks uh So currently
actually the day before so it’s the 24th
currently and we at 3 are having our
Kong day so it’s the celebration of the
battle of cap Yong um and a lot of the
boys as well as veterans come on to the
base and we facilitate a parade for them
so we are an armored um Battalion so we
had the armored capability on the parade
ground with all the boys and the girls
as well as all the veterans marching
alongside each other and then going into
tomorrow we’ll have similar so we’ll
have our Dawn service um at our unit and
then from there we’ll celebrate as a
unit and we’ll commemorate those who
have um fallen for us and those who have
served previous to us and then we’ll
join the rest of the community so uh we
may go to the local RSL and play a bit
of cheeky tour um but I think our main
thing on Anzac day is not being selfish
it’s very much being out in the
community and showing the community what
we do for our nation and why we do it
and the pride we have behind it on the
Sunday Footy Show last weekend on the
awardwinning turn it up we actually had
hon Russell on and oh wow we uh yeah
probably never met a more impressive
person in my life
yourself who who do people you look up
to is there anyone particular who’s some
of your Heroes within the Armed
Forces um I think with the new
generation it’s hard to um have a set
hero um for myself I’m very much a I
know who I don’t want to be and I know
the leader I want to become um so
looking at people that are around me I
take things that I don’t want and things
that I do want and then go from there so
a lot of people that I do um aspire to
be like uh um our current um commanding
officer of our unit um Jack West Thorp
he’s a very good leader throughout um
the Infantry realm showing men you know
there’s time to work hard but there’s
also time to celebrate and have fun with
each other so if you want to learn
something from the trabo family who do
you lean on or who do you look to uh
even prepare preparing for this
interview I um called up Jake and um
asked him a few tips and I was like do I
do I give a thumbs up do I um yeah who
what do I do so he kind of told me to
relax make sure I don’t talk too fast
it’s coming from Jake he’s he’s
definitely one that I lean on a fair bit
both for my um personal development as
well as my professional and footy
development so so he’s always been a
good egg to me um Tomas taught me how to
keep my hamstring intact which is nice
um and yeah it’s been good they’re good
boys all right a couple of footy
questions before we let you go Michaela
who do you
follow uh I’m kind of obliged to say
manly yeah um so manly all right and who
you tipping Tomorrow there’s three games
tomorrow what don’t we the warriors
Titans um I’m going to go Warriors yeah
and then the big one that we’re
fortunate about every year at alian the
traditional Clash dragons and
roosters I’m going to go Roosters on
this one all right yeah and then
Melbourne
South I’m hoping Melbourne I’m just
saying there we go hey you are so
impressive it’s a thrill to talk to you
and uh on behalf of everyone here we
hope it is a significant day of
commemoration right around the country
and for the sacrifice you and your
colleagues mate we thank you I really
appreciate it thank you so lovely to
talk to you Michaela private michaa
tro
impressive if we if we had a generation
of people like her we’d be in a good
spot I think we are mate
well she’s an ultra impressive person
she’s good fantastic fredd in the eighth
medal time three votes to Michela trich
um but from performances last week who
have we gone with I went with three to
ree Walsh he just although he made about
two or three erors before he actually
got it
together um he was awesome Jeremy
Marshall King up in Darwin he just
turned the screws and was he was just
too good for parman and Zack LX he’s uh
a bit of a beast at the moment coming up
with some really good plays same same
and R Walsh I’ve heard a couple of
people during the week knocking him for
making a few errors it’s the way he
plays there could you play make err he’s
joined Joey Mano Dyan Edwards the
hammering Jamal F at the top of the
leader
to take
us Walsh would he wear that a kubra
style whatever he wants what the pace
that’s one thing that I like with all
the the great ball playing and all the
other all the other skills he just burns
people speed can I tell a quick yarn so
it was M M’s birthday so I took her out
for dinner we went to the pub to watch
the
foot romantic anyway I’m like Broncos
are playing why don’t you have a bet
first TR scorer she who’s playing
Broncos or Cowboy H Broncos and Raiders
she say oh well who’s who plays for him
she go oh the pretty boy said yeah yeah
Bruce Walsh so anyway next to us was the
table another young couple anyway the
the girl did you consider yourself a
young couple yeah sure young at heart so
that next to us the and then the the
girls were like oh you come brought us
to the pub sees watch the footy anyway
same thing they go oh R wal playing so
anyway they start watching and then he
scores that try and it’s then it’s like
wow how good is then for the rest of the
game they were locked in so you got some
you got a player who transcends the game
Who attracts other people to the game
who don’t normally watch the game he’s
and then they watch him because you know
he’s Ru Walsh and then it’s like can’t
take M off him he’s rugby Le should be
absolutely applauding that he’s playing
r
a market dream that try scored cuz he
was yeah he bumbled around a little bit
and throw some throw some uh speculative
passes but when he hit that ball you
just knew he was going to score it’s
like a video he hits it that fast if
you’re not standing front of him you’re
not tackling him and he just he makes it
up as he goes so so reys keeping good
form maybe not around origin time and
we’ll fly you down for Freddy in the eth
no we’ll go where I want to go where he
go let’s go where he goes we get him
Sydney where’s he going to stay at your
CH He he’ll have to stay at mine we
couldn’t let him Bey he’s not St at
yours that’s for sure Zack liax the red
this is an
irresistible claim for origin
irresistible y will he be there if he
continues his form well it’s hard not to
pick him isn’t it cuz he’s he’s the for
not only the form Winger or sander he’s
the form player of the comp kicks gos
he’s not going to kick goals oh Nathan
will be there he’s back Nathan will kick
goals um there’s no deficiencies in what
he’s doing at the moment and he chases
does those little things those effort
areas chasing kicks strong dummy half
run I get the sets rolling he’s highly
motivated at the moment he’s going good
it’s good to watch it’s good to see
isn’t it yeah absolutely yeah when when
all the talk was going on about him
playing wing and there’s a lot of talk
outside people speculating wants to play
I didn’t hear him say anything he just
put his head down and just went right
I’m going to play I’m going to play well
the good thing is to he come through as
a superstar and I always used to say he
was like watching him come through he
played in all the junior teams coached
him a few times through there and it
didn’t come easy you know what I mean it
just shows you some of those you know
better players coming through those kids
that it’s just about you just got a
knuckle down and you can see there’s
been a real difference in his attitude
about how he plays not what he does it’s
just about how he does it and the way
he’s going at the moment he’s nearly
Unstoppable on the way to the break
let’s go back into our famous and
popular news archive and have a look at
one of the great Blues we’ve seen with a
minute’s play remaining darling and tamy
scuffle after a play the ball they’d
been at each other’s throats all night
finally French referee Ras kanier sends
both players to the S bin for 10 minutes
and this is what
follows as they go the door darling is
giv him sh the fingers are going they
might carry this on in the sh room
darling Oh and it’s on again done again
ding gave one and T he came back and
this is well this is disgusting really
they’re fighting now right in front of
the crowd off the field the play today
Greg darling could hardly get out of bed
while tamy not a pretty picture was
standing but regretful over the incident
it’s a shame that it had to happen but
uh it did and there’s not a lot we can
do about it now but uh I just hope it
doesn’t have any detrimental effects on
the game itself
holy hell he’s hard man blocker R told
me that he played at Warrington at one
stage and his Ford pack the front rowers
were blocker Kevin tamy and the back
rowers were Les Boyd and Les Davidson
stop it yeah and my old coach Paul
cullin was the lock is he mad well block
the world’s nicest bik off the field Li
Davidson on the field as blocker says oh
you made Paul call he’s a
psycho he’s a psycho imag the stinks on
blocker Kevin T oh hang on Les boy I’ll
to the back
row you’d be happy giving Che with that
forward pack back Kevin Tedy I think he
lives in the Cook Islands now I’ll be
over there next next
week I’m going the Cook Islands from the
50th I got the weekend off really oh
he’s blocky look it’s oh who’s blocky
hidden there he’s hitting Kevin Ted in
is so blocker’s toed off him then Greg
dy’s toed off in him then he wants more
watch his elbow this is watch his elbow
the one where so started it this one
here that elbow there mate that started
it yeah I think he in ra
tonger come here get a piece of this
Kevin tough
men
slips Accord the funny thing is darl L
the L great darl L saying oh this is
disg I think he I think he was secretly
enjoying it up in the commentary
box uh this of course is the segue into
Jack heatherington versus Reedman which
no one even threw a punch in the
end yeah t altercations though this push
and sha stuff is just so embarrassing
mate the staff should have done better
totally agree the staff should have done
better they’ll sent off at different
times Tak him to the change room
seriously and you know Jack’s a well
he’s only look as gusa said he’s only
McKing around there you can see that
he’s dancing around at the top of the
tunnel and Reed Man actually has has
come out subsequent to that and said he
had a grin on his face but it’s it’s not
funny in the scheme of where we are in
the game well you know what man the
staff should have done better without a
doubt you like it’s all well and good to
have fun but there’s protocols do with
the protocols they send off at different
times take them to the change room none
of this happens yeah the game gets
embarrassed by and everyone’s got to go
along with their games and at the end of
the day Reed had to get not for what he
did there but on the field I mean you
can’t do that LE bles are you can’t be a
pest you got a g you can now because
you’re not going to get punched in the
head what’s that he didn’t get a game
did he no you got a fine he got a f for
doing something on the field but should
he you’re happy with that suspension I’m
happy with what happened I think Jack
should get a f i don’t think Jack should
be suspended for that no I think he I
think he should you shouldn’t touch
people but productive they no punching
that’s little BLS now you can’t have
punch him mate faces and those days are
over but I’m with you man you can’t be
grabbing BLS on the field he he held him
at stages during that spat where he
didn’t have to have hold of him and then
it doesn’t escalate so absolutely he
deserved the F let him punch oneon-one
third BLS comes in you can’t punch let
him go I thought it was your brother
that ore the bring back the Biff t shirt
um we’ve seen the Battle of Brookville
mil I’ve got I’ve got I’ve got a better
one I’ve got a better one this is malice
in the palace in the NBA now this is a
very famous One involving
an old basketballer called Ron
arest this there was there was an ESPN
30 for30 about this now it this is the
Detroit Pistons they they were known as
an aggressive confrontational team this
got so be he went up in the stands and
started bluing the
punters Oh serious yeah M you should see
the the 30 for30 Doo is next level like
this is look at this did Dennis Robin
play for that team H he started think
yeah how can you believe
that they call the game off with about
45 seconds left and I should have they
pouring be on it as you should I
actually I should have read about the
penalties but he got like some
outrageous F and it might have been like
a six month suspension maybe even longer
I I’ll have to look it up but now that
is an unsavory fight we played at
Campell down one day and mg got sent off
or simin I forget what it was and um I
think was the last game of the year
before the finals and we were leading
the comp and a bloke reached over and
tried to hit him with an umbrella seen
mg did chase him well he tried to he was
he was climb he was climbing well you’re
just saying it’s all right to throw a
beer and chips at the bloke you can’t
yeah but he’s just been a punch in the
patrons man yeah but he might have
thrown something at him who the blow the
patron obviously threw something at him
you don’t think the blow’s going to run
upstairs just cuz he called him a name
seriously any you should watch the 30
for3 dock it’s pretty amazing
um well that’s a
question I’m trying think anyway there
was another story of but just come out
of my head it happens these days power
matter on the subject of rugby
league Manley brisban storm rabbits
Sharks next
five when’s Mitchell back R 12 he was 12
weeks 11 12 oh I heard 12 weeks or was
it round I heard round 11 or 12 right
well that that might be a little shorter
than that initially his kicking game
makes such a difference to them he I
think the rules also worked against them
they had the best kick in Chase just
because of his kick he had that kick
where he just kicks at 50 MERS every
time it’s in the air for so long which
allowed them to just recoup and get
their defense so I think if any the real
change hurt them a little bit and now
him not playing they realize just how
important it is so I can’t see them uh
winning too many there’s obviously a lot
of pressure building on Brad Arthur he’s
been there a long time what 10 years 11
years um Gus made some interesting
comments though % footy about the
current plight of the paramet club have
have listen to these in all the time
that I follow param I was a parameter
Junior they’ve never really set up their
Pathways properly they’ve never ever
produced a culture uh a character of
their own that’s brought through the
grades with young fellas wanting to be
there and be a part of the club and that
in the end becomes the problem of the
head coach who’s trying to win games
today when no one has really planned
adequately for the future they have
great sides in the junior representative
Fields but it doesn’t transition through
to a culture or a stream of players
coming through in the club and you know
that’s where it’s got to now and
someone’s got to take that
responsibility that’s not Brad Arthur’s
responsibility thoughts on that well I
think Nathan Brown was Nathan Brown in
uh he was in charge of their Pathways I
think for a very brief time very time
was just recently was the last two years
yeah and he’s he’s recently left you cup
becoming last at in Jersey flag what’s
that now I don’t think they won a game I
don’t think they’ve won a game so
remember coming through when were coming
through no one could beat param they
went at everything couldn’t beat them I
started as a param junior and yeah when
I came through it was so when I was 10
years old and all that was all that
early 80s and everyone wanted to play
for param because of that dominance
because of that dominance that team yeah
they’re unbelievable and then the back
end of the 80s they just faded away
never you know they never they weren’t
spotted for 10 years it’s interesting
because they do have a they do have
quite a good participation in that
parameter local League don’t they so
penth is the highest uh brisbane’s very
high so penth MacArthur would be second
highest now and I’d say param would be
third but not also in amongst there
you’ve got most three or four of the
best schools as well that you know you
got some P black Town westfields
Fairfield Pats um Hill sports high in
that whole vicinity so there’s plenty of
plenty of there’s a nursery that should
really set up the parameter Juniors but
and there AR a lot of local Juniors who
have come through who have started now
will pen is there I just trying to think
in the bot I think Mitchell Moses he was
a Paramount Junior not
aers and come come back Dylan Brown’s
come from New
Zealand fromen sort of started with gal
like he come through a generation where
you he he was a par jior he went to
paramet Marist and he went he went to
canala so through that whole period and
then has moved on where but to be fair
to that the system where player manag
you can go and get people from anywhere
and you know recruitment officers and
butus is right like they just is about
the the production line I mean point to
play from that’s the point the point is
you don’t have people staying there
because they want to wear blue and gold
that’s what Gus is saying normally
you’ll get a couple of blocks who just
want to stay in the area and play for
the club that they grow up loving and
there doesn’t seem to be many of them
well Ethan Sanders be interesting he’s
he’s leaving he’s process he’s leaving
he’s G to camera
well there you go well his pathway is
blocked from M Mitchell and and Dylan
Brown you can understand that
one just on the coach now I’m not asking
you to make a judgment on if he’s doing
a good job or not but I mean Jack Gibson
is a great example he what he spent
three years at a club moved on or was
that his well that was Jack Gibson’s
thing he only stayed three years that
was it he’s been there a decade now they
made one Grand Final outside of that
they haven’t
threatened but is it is parata at a
stage where things need a reboot does it
look like that on the
field well I thought last year was a
tough year they rally got them moved on
five forwards including the hooker and I
thought I found it was going to be hard
to recover from that I just that was a
questionable decision wasn’t it there
was five
forwards they couldn’t match Reed man
got off of big money well a lot of them
did too I know cor like he was a good
player you know but he would have got
offered more money um so that’s a
starting pack of forwards like that’s
that’s a lot to lose at once Isaiah
pale R Rick
rayone um Oregon kusy they’re all BLS
that were in that starting but you know
they got they got picked at and it was a
different club for every one of those
BLS so I appreciate that but I suppose
what what I’m sort of saying is that
they you have to make priority decisions
with salary cap don’t you and they’ve
spent massive money on the halves the
two props are on big coin I don’t know
what G’s on but they’ve had a move on
Five middle forwards or five key
forwards to accommodate the two halves
like it’s a it’s a balancing act of
salary cap isn’t it well especially when
your half pi gets injured there back up
for him not many sides could interesting
watching cber this week cuz cber going
to lose their ke halfback you know penth
obviously do a great job and they’ve
always had that backup halfback where
Nathan’s watch without kylin yeah that
scares
me scares most Castle fans all right
enough about that uh we love having Ken
sliff join us here on Friday and the 8th
what’s coming up on MAR of sports it’s

strong all winter long there’s no better
place to be than right here at home on
Nine’s Wide World of
Sports well I must be old cuz I remember
most of those players who’s your
favorite female tennis
player um Mara never overa and then
Stephie Graff yeah well they were Rivals
Martina used to actually win she used to
play with Pam Sher in the doubles and
they’d win that yeah and then she’d go
win the singles as well she was so good
you’re talking about that 30 for 30
Dogers the John mackenro one you seen
that no I haven’t oh man he’s the best
he was good I think I think a Great era
oh yeah I think she’s won of a 50 Grand
Slam
title singles and doubles yeah right
used to play doubles you know I was
thinking about the other day who was the
young lady got stabbed at the French mon
she never played after that did never
reached the same Heights jeez that must
have knocked her about of course could
you imagine sitting in the chair every
time may you be
paranoid been allowed to get to her can
you believe that like get that close and
with a knife anyway that was crazy next
on a current affair um Freddy in the
eighth game also came up on W Sports
Freddy in the e games
[Music]
do you think Ken sliff would be think
Kenny would be prepared to do an
introduction for Freddy in the saw Kenny
at the footy last week how good he look
the color of that jacket it was like
baby [ __ ] mustard he nailed I wish we
could have a was he on air last week no
no because it was it was Peach he nailed
it it was Peach was a peach col it was
baby [ __ ]
mustard what no I think that was the
shirt under yeah you had a whole thing
going on it was a great Ensemble wasn’t
it yeah well
still big weekend in Sydney he’s got the
satday night gear on yeah yeah I’m sure
he does the same stuff that you get up
to um Kenny husband
dragging yeah this happens in my joint
every night has a neck of beer and then
his wife drags him away it sounds like
everyone’s
life this is this is Sport imitating
life oh oh oh oh oh well done jeez he’s
necking it so where where does this
happen oh he’s
for I’m tipping Western Queens land
somewhere what was the one oh we had the
camel scalling a be last week we should
we should do a Fred of the tour of far
north Co wouldn’t that be fun there’s R
W’s hat night Ms on the right uh that’s
good uh death diving not sure what this
entails death div is this just big belly
flops oh that’s from oh you’re
mad this is he’s so good to go oh stop
oh no he’s duck his head there he should
be disqualified he’s
horses oh oh they’re doing a horse
oh this is this Scandinavian I look SC
that oh dear it’s a
horsey what’s a horsey what they’re
doing look at
oh I haven’t seen anyone with the
courage to not duck the head yet this is
a great sport for the mentally
derang when can I get a
start oh here you are here the the old
Warrior that was 40 minutes 45 minutes
trying to get over is this bungee
jumping what’s wrong with you I’m scared
of heights oh mate I wouldn’t bunny jump
I can’t even look at that no it’s abing
in 12T surf you worried about oh go
Joey well done
you’re
embarrassing that’s embarrassing so what
they just they just s of released you
slowly down to the
ground wait because that that thing
there was straight on the
pencil M the pencil thought it was
wrestling with the B the Boston
strangle there’s the pencil of the
moment everything all right there’s not
a good we’ve
already we already addressed Joey’s
issues oh the BOS
yeah old me just it hurt but I got to
say it was mildly pleasurable U anac Day
game alian is a sellout so there’ll be
over 40,000 there for uh well what is on
paper a tantalizing Clash dragon’s
really going well
roosters can you get a read on the
roosters at the moment no I think some
games obviously they started started
fire they be Brisbane over in Vegas and
they’ve had some good games
since I
think just it’s trying
to I think they get very predictable and
they just don’t have that speed like a
Brisbane or you know they don’t have a
Sloan someone who well actually Dom
young you know but he’s on the wing so
it’s a little bit different but um that
was a good try the dragons they’re very
unpredictable and when they when they’re
when they’re playing good and completing
and doing all that like the slones and
Ben hunts and that J they can make your
pay great for Ben Hunt you know what
they are they’re big and physical and
Powerful whole te they like to bully the
opposition they all look like they’re
105 K the whole team huge big centers
big Wingers who do you like you like the
CHS I like the CHS Melbourne versus
South Sydney how a listen to this for
some statistical information from David
Middleton souths won the last sorry the
storm have won their last seven Anzac
Day games the rabitos have lost all 18
games they’ve played in melbour the stor
aiming for 14 consecutive wins at Amy
Park might be a long night yeah it
points to a Melbourne win Melbourne win
why do you reckon after they bought sha
key to the club he’s had two or three
games brushed Talis Duncan’s not even in
the spot J and Mitchell starting in the
front row I like Talis stun it’s funny
how just coaches gravitate towards
certain players um I thought Sean ke was
going to be a really good fit for S I
think he was doing some good things in
mly very aggressive but just hasn’t been
out of nail a spot yet they said but
they’re lacking in the in big middles
aren’t they uh shakol I think they
Mitchell
starting storm storm to win Storm Friday
night footy love this Clash Manley and
parah four Pines Brookie par
so bad you could barely believe it last
week when’s the last time you saw a team
leag eight tries and a half they gave up
simple as that it was too hard it was
too hot yeah God them they just gave up
and the other team they look like
they’re a nightmare when they turn it on
they’re fast they’re a Wayne Bennett
coach team they just hang in and then
when the momentum swings they go up a
gear and that’s what the Dolphins did
you know he’s good to done that Cody
nicara jez he can play some footy oh
good footy player and they without their
fastest player too Je try Fuller goes
good he’s an play you reckon someone to
snap him up he’s been knocking around in
the Queensland cup for years I think he
might have been a Queensland cup player
of the year yeah P said he just scores
tries for fun in the Queensland cup good
to see him go well he did a couple
things up there freakish freakish things
picking balls up in that humidity and
the the slippery conditions that’s what
he did good his first couple of touches
were hard they tough he had to come at
the ball and they trying to bring him
forward and he just stood up FL back
don’t think so no it’s Wayne back Wine’s
back Wine’s back you went have to go far
I’m worried about my Knights no
kin they look incredibly one they look
incredibly one paste without
kin so you said the fullbacks Got Talent
He’s Got Talent but it’s he’s debing
yeah the um interesting to see how they
play whether they mix it up and play
more at a dummy half
or they still play that point to point
load up for the big shift and a
significant afternoon for one of the
game’s great characters the F bombs and
the spit will be flying everywhere in
camber on Sunday afternoon because it’s
Ricky Stewart’s 500th game as an NRL
coach really yep there at the very
start Kyo weeks we’s the number seven
now correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t
think he’s ever played halfback no he’s
played he played a bit of fullback for
man came off the bench play halfback did
he oh here’s Ricky over there youthful
yeah youthful looking Ricky there man he
came through as a halfback in Manley
okay played half back in 5’8 um I played
him a year young in a state team as a
halfback yeah okay he’s been he’s been a
good player all the way Along come
through obviously at Manley DCU was
there he’s asking about your hairstyle
there Andrew no he’s asked me did I get
the quty up today at Canterbury races on

so oh

  1. Rip Terry hill much loved figure in the game condolences go out to family and friends 🙏🙏😪

  2. Matt Thompson is so far away from anything rugby league its blasphamy he calls the game

  3. Someone threw a drink at Ron Artest, that’s why he ran in the stands but he hit the wrong bloke

  4. If you want to bring in the punch make it like the NHL rule both players need to agree to fight on the field and if one player says no you can’t throw them move on! If they both agree to throw them they got like 5 to 10 seconds to throw as many and if a 3rd man comes in he’s gets sent straight away and suspension! The ref and the touchy needs to break them up and give them both 5 mins in the bin to cool off!

  5. Boyd and Tamati type 70s forwards was why the little dudes had to play on the wing back then 😂😂😂😂 not like now when Marni can jostle with a heavyweight and know he's most likely not going to get hurt from punches

  6. Freddie and the eight is the reason I started watching footy. Absolutely legendary. Cheers boys

  7. 33:20 talking about biff what about the now famous 2014 Super League Grand Final, St Helens RFC V Wigan Warriors RLFC.

Following a fiery opening that started with the kind of big tackles that this derby game has become known for, the game suffered a dramatic twist in only the second minute of the game when Wigan Prop, Ben Flower, became the first and only player to be sent off in a grand final by referee Phil Bentham after he punched Lance Hohaia in the face, thus knocking him out, then as he lay defenceless on the floor, he punched him in the face again. The first punch Ben hit Lance was sickening and then the second punch when Lance was unable to protect himself it was disgusting and he was correctly given a 6 month ban and it ruined his career.

  8. Mate, Dowling started that fight with his words. According to Tamati, Dowling was pouring racial abuse all over him for the entire game. I'm a proud Aussie, and I'm glad that Tamati turned Dowling to rubble on the sideline. You can't cop that racist garbage.

  9. Jeez this show has really gone to the dogs, been on the descent ever since Bracey left. Used to be really entertaining and the conversations flowed nicely and now it makes you wanna go to sleep and the energy is so awkward between all three of them.I think its definitely due to Mat Thompsons ego being the size of Texas and Joey and Freddy look like they dont want to be there
